ENJOLRAS & GRANTAIRE - One Hand, One Heart from West Side Story

Make of our hands, one hand,
Make of our hearts, one heart.
Make of our vows, one last vow;
Only death will part us now.
Make of our lives, one life,
Day after day, one life.
Now it begins, now we start;
One Hand, one Heart.
Even death won’t part us now.

death is the mother of beauty - a henry winter fanmix [ listen ]

“He might have been handsome had his features been less set, or his eyes, behind the glasses, less expressionless and blank."

- Donna Tartt, The Secret History

(Here is the Spoitfy version if that’s your thing.)

Lingfan Week - AU

prompt: Non-massacre AU. Sasuke and Sakura have a lovers’ quarrel.

note: i was reading Dark Paradise and i loved the idea of Sasuke having a loving family. also they were having make-up sex and i was like this is the best. agh.

“Don’t make him grovel too long!” Mikoto smiled, wrapping her hands around a steaming cup of tea.

Sakura did the same. “But what if I don’t mean that much to him? He can’t keep forgetting dates.”

The older woman placed a warm hand on top of hers. “Sasuke loves you. Since the Academy, I’m sure.”

She laughed. The days that she spent chasing after Sasuke. He was always quiet as she pestered him to talk, but he never waved her away. He picked fights with Naruto and gave her triumphant glances when he won. Sasuke didn’t know it at the time, but he’d been in love with her.

“He always talked about you, you know. ‘She’s so smart, Mom! She the got the best grade in the class again.’ Fugaku never understood why he was so excited about getting second place.” Mikoto laughed and Sakura’s eyes softened.

“Mom? Who are you–” Sasuke entered the kitchen and stopped to stare at Sakura.

“…hey.” He mumbled, stuffing his hands in his pockets.

Sakura’s throat closed up. She wanted to forgive him, as she always did. He looked so vulnerable sometimes and she knew he loved her. She just wished he remembered the dates of their anniversaries. It made her feel stupid when he didn’t. She gave him a small wave, not trusting herself to open her mouth.

“Sasu-chan…” Mikoto’s voice lowered in a warning tone and Sasuke grumbled.

Quickly, he strolled over to Sakura and pulled her up by the hand. She stumbled behind him, following him to his room. Faintly, she heard Mikoto call 'leave the door open!’ just as Sasuke slammed the door shut. He backed her up against the door.

“Why are you always talking to my mother?” Sasuke lowered his face to touch his forehead to hers.

“At least she understands me,” Sakura mumbled, averting her gaze.

“I understand, Sakura–” He stressed, lowering his hand to her hip.

Her gaze flicked up to his. “…but it’s inconvenient. Unnecessary. Not important. I get it.”

“No, I get it. How could I not, after having this fight so many times? I shouldn’t even be getting mad anymore. God knows I have no more energy.” Sakura sighed, cheeks heating up with anger.

Sasuke’s grip on her hip tightened. She gasped, feeling his urgency and desperation. She refused to accept his feelings, since he evidently couldn’t accept hers. She looked up at him as he slumped his body forward against hers.

“I asked you for a date on April 24. You became my girlfriend on May 7 and in ten days, we would’ve been together for 1000 days.” He murmured into the crook of her neck. “I remember, but we don’t need to celebrate everything. Being with you every day is already enough.”

Sakura’s heart fluttered as she laughed and cupped his face in her hands. “Don’t be such a sap.”

Sasuke smirked, feeling her opening up to him again. He kissed her; once, twice, thrice, before he completely took her lips in a kiss that left nothing to be desired.

anonymous asked:

I wonder what would have happened if Anakin had had a vision of Obi-Wan dying instead of Padme, like would he have still gone dark side? Because like he wouldn't have needed to hide this? Well, maybe from Obi because Ani knows obi would just shrug it off, but like the Jedi council knows they're The Team and wouldn't dare try separate them, esp when Anakin had become a frightened, angry protective shadow to Obi-Wan. Idk I might write this

this may be an incorrect quote but it still actually applies perfectly to their relationship

whatever comic, book, tv series or movie you are looking at, when in company with obi wan, anakin is his better self so imo sending obi wan away and leaving anakin alone was the biggest mistake the jedi council could have made and i would say he probably wouldnt have fallen bc obi wan, the serenity to his rage, would have been by his side, always pulling him back to the light

He loves the way she giggles when she’s young.

He loves the way she giggles when she’s older too of course, but when she’s young … her giggles have a kind of innocence to them. An innocence she would swear right now never to have possessed or even wanted, but, “Say that again when you’re older,” he says. Older River has the necessary distance to realise that this River he is lying next to is so very innocent in so many ways, despite her already complicated history.

She raises her eyebrows at him, her face still flushed with mirth. “I’m sure I will. I’m hardly likely to become more innocent, am I?”

“Oh, you’re going to become more everything,” the Doctor teases. He tickles her gently under her chin and she squirms, slapping his hand away with a laugh.

“More brilliant?” she asks, grinning.

“Absolutely,” he affirms.

“More sexy,” she declares, fluttering her lashes.

She hesitates for a fraction of a second before continuing, “More in love with you?”

His gaze softens and he shuffles closer, reaching out to cup her cheek. “Oh, I hope so,” he tells her, and presses a gentle kiss to her lips.

River grins against his mouth. “Tell me more about me,” she demands - and she doesn’t yet quite know that he can read her like a book, that he knows she needs to make up for that moment of vulnerability with something outrageous now.

“Can’t,” he replies with a shrug, making it easy for her. “Spoilers.”

“Rubbish,” she declares. “Go on.”

“I can’t!” he says. “By telling you I could risk changing you. And trust me, I don’t want to do that.”

“That’s cute,” she says, deadpan. “And you think I’m the difficult one?”

“Whoever said you were difficult?” he asks incredulously.

She’s about to reply, he can tell, but she snaps her mouth shut, and her eyes regain their sparkle. “Spoilers.” She says it like a challenge.

The Doctor makes a face. “It was me, wasn’t it?”

River looks smug now, and shrugs. “Spoilers.”

“I’m such an idiot,” he mutters to himself, rolling away from her to stare at the ceiling.

An older River would have snorted and agreed with him; this one says nothing. It’s kind of sweet.

“You’re going to have a lot of fun with that word,” he says eventually. “When I’m younger you’re going to drive me batty with it.”

All of a sudden River is looking down at him, propping herself up on her elbows and smirking in speculation. “That does sound like fun .”

“Yeah, for you,” he complains.

“Aren’t I allowed to have any fun?” she asks airily.

“Course you are. I like it when you’re having fun . In case you hadn’t noticed, I even quite like it when you’re driving me batty.”

River’s grin turns predatory. “Do you now?”

She giggles.

He loves the way she giggles when she’s young.

never mind that i just roared yesterday,
and that i’m likely to do it tomorrow
and each day that i am forced to exist
on a planet where gold doesn’t even
taste good anymore and hoarding isn’t fun,

never mind that i was never much one
for crowds and thought performance to stifle
true creativity, because how am i supposed
to spread my wings with all of you humans
crowding around the cave like a cage,

never mind that there is never a day that my
lungs have not been burning and my claws
sting from holding myself to the floor so
the force of flinging fire does not send me reeling
like it did yesterday and like it probably will tomorrow,

never mind that the show may be
all my life has become.
