It was the end of the day and you wanted to do nothing more than go home, go to bed and have your wonderful husband of 4 years warm you up.
“Fili?” You walked into your home, calling for your husband.
You could hear him rustling about somewhere in your home, but you hadn’t seen him yet.
“Fee? You’re here?” As you heard a bang coming from the bathroom, you frowned and walked towards the noises.
“Wait! Just wait!” You stopped by the bed, your hand resting against the bed post as Fili stumbled out of the room.
His hair was not in its usual curls and braids, but rather sticking up every which way. You furrowed your eyebrows and walked towards him, wondering what was going on with him.
“Fili, what’s going on?” He had a frustrated look on his face as he sctrathed his head.
“I was hunting with Kili. My jackass brother pushed me into a bush of poison ivy. And I got some in my hair.” You pursed your lips and tried now to laugh as the normally cool and collected Fili Durin, had both hands in his hair, scratching.
“Oh Fili..” You couldn’t help yourself as a giggle followed by another and another.
You felt bad for your poor husband, but the image of Fili scratching his head like he was dying, was too hard not to laugh at.
“Help me!” You bit your bottom lip and grabbed his hand, before pulling him into the bathroom.
“I’ll help, don’t worry.” You sighed and brushed his hair out of his face.
“You poor dwarf.” You tugged him towards the bathtub and started filling it.
“I’ll help you feel better. Don’t worry.” You stood behind Fili, smirking as his hands were still in his hair, scratching.
“Keep scratching and you’ll make your head bleed.” You walked to one of the counters in the bathroom and picked up a bottles.
“Kili. I’ll kill him. I will this time.” You scoffed and walked back to your husband, kneeling behind him.
“Move your hands.” Fili hesitantly dropped his hands, and then you dumped a bottle onto his head, and wired your own fingers through his hair.
“Oh Mahal…that feels so good.” You laughed at Fili’s over excitement at getting his head scratched, earning you a little glare from the prince.
“It’s not funny.” You shook your head and worked your fingers against his scalp, working the liquid solution into his hair.
“It is funny, Fili. It’s hilarious. Wasn’t it just last week that you played some practical joke on Thorin? Which he did not find funny by the way. His very pregnant wife almost went into labour because she was laughing so hard.” You bit your lip as Fili squirmed under your fingertips.
“That was kili’s idea. I just went along with it to make sure he didn’t get killed. And Thorin’s wife wanted to go into labour. She was done being pregnant and had reached her full gestation.” You nodded and removed your hands from your scalp, standing to wipe off your hands.
“Leave that for a while, Fili. I’ll come back to check on you in a bit.” You walked to the exit of the bathroom, smiling widely at Fili’s uncomfortableness.
You would never tell him, ever, but it was you who told Kili to push him on the poison ivy bush. After all, Fili couldn’t possibly think he was the only one who had a mischievous side.
