Captain Steve Rogers, Lovecraftian Horror

Title: The Miskatonic Project
Rating: PG-13 for horror themes, death
Summary: Abraham Erskine may have invented something new with the Serum – or maybe he re-created something very old. Something…Elder.
Notes: I should be working on like three other fanfics but I had a TERRIBLE DREAM this afternoon and anyway this only took about half an hour to write.

***

Steve came out of the Vita-Ray machine…different.

Of course he looked different – taller, thickly muscled, skin gleaming. But it wasn’t the change in his appearance so much as the…sensation people felt around him. Howard claimed not to feel it, and Erskine died before he could weigh in. Peggy felt it, but not in the way others did. To her, he seemed otherworldly, but like an angel or a religious vision – comforting under a layer of unreality. She even liked the strange black pupils he’d developed, so big and dark you could hardly see the whites of his eyes at all.

Others, however….

She didn’t see him pull the Hydra agent out of the submarine after Erskine’s assassination. Only three people did – a cab driver, a little boy, and the boy’s mother. The cab driver wouldn’t say a word, and the boy’s mother stuttered and stammered so badly they finally gave up. The little boy just said, “Well, he got him,” and looked admiringly at Steve.

Steve wasn’t wet, but the submarine lay on the deck of the pier, and the man next to it was dead, a rictus of horror on his face.

Cute Bus Stop Guy

Sterek, Teen, 2K words, Meet Cute AU

Stiles groaned and took a very long swig from his travel coffee mug as he hitched his messenger bag up higher on his shoulder. It was barely eight in the morning, and consequently, he could barely keep his eyes open. He was a grad student for fuck’s sake, and it was understood that in order to make up for the shitty stipend and the whole working-around-the-clock thing, he got to sleep in until 10. At least. After all, if he was up until 3 working, it was only fair. But noooo, his advisor—fuck you, Finstock—had insisted on an early meeting today.

He passed the bus stop and realized that at least he was lucky in that he lived close enough to campus that he could walk instead of dealing with public transportation at rush hour. Small condolences, really, though.

He yawned and accidentally bumped into someone walking past him. Stiles tried to apologize, but the word got stuck in his throat when he opened his eyes and caught a glimpse of the person he’d nearly knocked over. He was about Stiles’ height but bigger, all broad shoulders and muscles capped off by really great hair and an unfairly attractive face. “Uh.”

The guy gave him a curt little nod and neatly sidestepped him, continuing on his way. Stiles snuck a look over his shoulder, and yep, the rear view in those tight slacks was pretty good, too. The guy stopped at the bus stop, leaning against the sign, and Stiles sighed. It was a dreamy sigh, even he could admit that.

He had a feeling he was going to become a morning person.

You grow more frantic as your body fails to follow through on any of the commands you direct at it. It’s not until you realize that something is restraining your arms that an overwhelming tidal wave of memories wash over your body and send you back underwater.

different ways to be intimate

Summary: Just small descriptions of non-sexual acts of intimacy with Tom.

*Notes: This is for Cassie ( @purelyparker ). She’s having a really rough time right now, just wanted to make it a little less rough :) xoxo

Tom and you had been dating for a little over seven months – agreeing to take things slow between you two, especially when both of your schedules were busy, you two had very rare physically intimate moments. It had started with shameless flirting, not expecting it to go any further than that. Then, out of nowhere, you two were going on dates. They weren’t official, he’d ask if you wanted to get ice cream with him, some days coffee. You’d ask him if he’d like to come over and watch a movie or go to the park with you. It was very subtle, so subtle that neither of you realized what was happening. Soon enough, verbal ‘goodnights’ became kisses on the cheeks, slowly turning into kisses on the mouth.

Fathers Day for Tony (Quick Fic)

For @shitshitshitshitwhy who asked for an Awkward!Spidey trying to say Happy Fathers Day to Tony

Tom Holland is Peter, of course RDJ is Tony.

*********************

Peter had been trying to talk to Tony all day.

First in the elevator that morning, as they headed up to Tony’s mandatory Sunday breakfast with the team. Peter had been thrilled to catch Tony alone for once, and had reached in his backpack for the small package and card he had bought yesterday, only to turn around and see Tony on his phone, talking loudly about the pillows on his bed and why they just weren’t fluffy enough, and yes he was aware pillows deflated, but he needed perpetually fluffy pillows.

Peter had just sighed and put the package away.

>>>>>>>>>

After breakfast when Tony and Happy were arguing over who to invite to the birthday party for Clint that weekend, Peter tried to talk to him again.

“Um, Mr Stark?” Peter cleared his throat nervously. “Mr Stark if you have a moment–”

“Do you think it would be obnoxious to decorate in purple?” Tony was saying and Happy nodded emphatically.

“Tony, Clint hates purple.”

“But Clint wears purple.” Tony countered.

“Mr. Stark.” Peter tried again. “I need like two seconds, just real quick.”

“Hey Underoos.” Tony said with a bright smile and Peter flushed a little in happiness. “Do you think Clint would shoot me with an arrow if I decorated his party in purple because Happy thinks—”

“I’ll come back.” Peter said dejectedly, and waved, completely unnoticed by them.

Everything’s Better with a Beard

Steve x Reader
Smut
WC: 1889
Warnings: Swear words, masturbation, oral sex
Summary: Reader has a crush on Cap and wonders what he would look (and feel!) like with a beard…
AN: I feel like I haven’t been giving Steve enough love lately plus with all the commotion about Cap with a beard, I had to give this a go. Though I will admit, everything is better with a beard…Also, I’m kinda wordy…sorry

It was one of those nights where just the girls were hanging out. It was a rare opportunity and a nice feeling, You were all at various levels of intoxication sitting together around the living room area and conversation flowed as easily as the wine.

“You know, we probably should have made more snacks,” mused Pepper, always looking out for everyone.

Maria and Natasha snorted, “Please,” replied Natasha, “Eating just means less room for wine!” She raised her glass in a toast, “To us!”

Everyone cheered.

“Ugh, what’s with this lumberjack look?” commented Maria, while flipping through the pages of a magazine. “Whatever happened to clean shaven, respectable looking men?”

“Now now,” Pepper scolded her, “Goatees are pretty sexy,” she smirked.

“That’s because a goatee is groomed, but a beard? Yuck,” Maria retorted.

“I don’t know,” you chimed in. “I’m of the personal philosophy that a beard makes everything better.”

Natasha nodded in agreement. “I think some men just suit beards… Though I suppose the true test is if they look good with a beard and without one.”

Maria disagreed, “But beard burn? Eww. I’m a grown-ass lady. I don’t need evidence of my necking.”

You laughed at her, “First of all, how old are you? Who says necking? Secondly, I dunno… there’s something about the roughness of it… All scratchy and manly.” You could feel yourself blushing, as if you had said too much.

Just then, the guys entered the room. You were fairly certain that they hadn’t heard any of the previous conversation. You took a long swallow of your drink, hoping it would cool you off.

The topic of conversation turned to the upcoming mission. You were one of the two remaining behind as your particular skills weren’t needed so you didn’t really pay attention to the conversation. Instead, you casually observed your friends, one in particular, until Natasha elbowed you.

“You’re staring,” she muttered to you.

You felt yourself turn red again. Apparently you weren’t as casual as you thought you were.

Leaning into you, she whispered, “I wonder what Cap would look like with a beard.”

You had often wondered the same thing.

Full Esquire Interview - CHRIS EVANS IS READY TO FIGHT

“HIS SUCCESS AS CAPTAIN AMERICA HAS MADE CHRIS EVANS ONE OF HOLLYWOOD’S SURE THINGS, WHICH MEANS HE CAN DO WHATEVER HE WANTS WITH HIS FREE TIME. SO WHY JUMP OUT OF AIRPLANES AND GET INTO IT WITH DAVID DUKE?

BY MAXIMILLIAN POTTERMAR 15, 2017

The Canadian commandos are the first to jump. Our plane reaches an altitude of about eight thousand feet; the back door opens. Although it’s a warm winter day below in rural southern California, up here, not so much. In whooshes freezing air and the cold reality that this is actually happening. Out drop the eight commandos, all in black-and-red camouflage, one after the other. For them it’s a training exercise, and Jesus, these crazy bastards are stoked. The last Canuck to exit into the nothingness is a freakishly tall stud with a crew cut and a handlebar mustache; just before he leaps, he flashes a smile our way. Yeah, yeah, we get it: You’re a badass.

Moments later, the plane’s at ten thousand feet, and the next to go are a Middle Eastern couple in their late thirties. These two can’t wait. They are ecstatic. Skydiving is clearly a thing for them. Why? I can’t help thinking. Is it like foreplay? Do they rush off to the car after landing and get it on in the parking lot? They give us the thumbs-up and they’re gone.

Just like that, we’re at 12,500 feet and it’s our turn. Me and Chris Evans, recognized throughout the universe as the star of the Marvel-comic-book-inspired Captain America and Avengers movies. The five films in the series, which began in 2011 with Captain America: The First Avenger, have grossed more than $4 billion.

The two of us, plus four crew members, are the only ones left in the back of the plane. Over the loud drone of the twin propellers, one of the crew members shouts, "Okay, who’s going first?”

Evans and I are seated on benches opposite each other. Neither of us answers. I look at him; he looks at me. I feel like I’ve swallowed a live rat. Evans is over there, all Captain America cool, smiling away.

While we were waiting to board the plane, Evans told me that as he lay in bed the night before, “I started exploring the sensation of ‘What if the chute doesn’t open?’. . .”

Oh, did you now?

“. . .Those last minutes where you know.” As in you know you’re going to fatally splat. “You’re not gonna pass out; you’re gonna be wide awake. So what? Do I close my eyes? Hopefully, it would be quick. Lights out. I fucking hope it would be quick. And then I was like, if you’re gonna do it, let’s just pretend there is no way this is going to go wrong. Just really embrace it and jump out of that plane with gusto.” Evans also shared that he’d looked up the rate of skydiving fatalities. “It’s, like, 0.006 fatalities per one thousand jumps. So I figure our odds are pretty good.”

Again the crew member shouts, “Who’s going first?”

Again I look at Evans; again he looks at me. The rat is running circles in my belly.

I look at Evans; he looks at me.

Another crew member asks, “So whose idea was this, anyway?”

That’s an excellent question.

I ask Evans the same thing when we first meet, the evening before our jump, at his house. He lives atop the Hollywood Hills, in a modern-contemporary ranch in the center of a Japanese-style garden. The place has the vibe of an L.A. meditation retreat—there’s even a little Buddha statue on the front step.

The dude who opens the front door is in jeans, a T-shirt, and Nikes; he has on a black ball cap with the NASA logo, and his beard is substantial enough that for a second it’s hard to be sure this is the same guy who plays the baby-faced superhero. Our handshake in the doorway is interrupted when his dog rockets toward my crotch. Evans is sorry about that.

We do the small-talk thing. Evans is from a suburb of Boston, one of four kids raised by Dad, a dentist, and Mom, who ran a community theater. The point is, he’s a Patriots fan, and with Super Bowl LI, between the Pats and the Falcons, just a few days away at the time, it’s about the only thing on his mind. You bet your Sam Adams–guzzling ass he’s going to the game in Houston. “Oh my God,” he says, doing a little dance. “I can’t believe it’s this weekend.”

Like any self-respecting Pats fan, Evans is super-wicked pissed at NFL commissioner Roger Goodell.

Evans won’t be rolling to SB LI with a posse of Beantown-to-Hollywood A-listers like Mark Wahlberg, Matt Damon, and Ben Affleck. For the record, he’s never met Damon, and his only interaction with Wahlberg was a couple years ago at a Patriots event. Evans has, however, humiliated himself in front of Affleck.

Around 2006, Evans met with Affleck to talk about Gone Baby Gone, which Affleck was directing. Evans was walking down a hallway, looking for the room where they were supposed to meet. Walking by an open office, he heard Affleck, in that thick Boston accent of his, shout, “There he is!” (Evans does a perfect Affleck impersonation.)

By then, Evans had hit the big time for his turn as the Human Torch, Johnny Storm, in 2005’s Fantastic Four, but he still got starstruck. As he tells it, “First thing I say to him: 'Am I going to be okay where I parked?’ He was like, 'Where did you park?’ I said, 'At a meter.’ And he was like, 'Did you put money in the meter?’ And I said, 'Yep.’ And he says, 'Well, I think you’ll be okay.’ I was like, this is off to a great fucking start.” Stating the obvious here: Evans did not get the part.

No, Evans will be heading to the Super Bowl with his brother and three of his closest buddies. Like any self-respecting Pats fan, Evans is super-wicked pissed at NFL commissioner Roger Goodell for imposing that suspension on Tom Brady for Deflategate. Grabbing two beers from a fridge that’s otherwise basically empty, Evans says, “I just want to see Goodell hand the trophy to Brady. Goodell. Piece of shit.”

In Evans’s living room, there’s not a single hint of his Captain Americaness. Earth tones, tables that appear to be made of reclaimed wood. Open. Uncluttered. Glass doors open onto a backyard with a stunning view of the Hills. Evans stretches out on one of two couches. I take the other and ask, “Just whose idea was it to jump?” Since we both know whose idea it wasn’t, we both know that what I’m really asking is Why? Why, dude, do you want to jump (with me) from a goddamn airplane? “Yeah,” he says, popping open his beer, “I don’t know what I was thinking.”

Settling in on the couch, he groans. Evans explains that he’s hurting all over because he just started his workout routine the day before to get in shape for the next two Captain America films. The movies will be shot back to back beginning in April. After that, no more red- white-and-blue costume for the thirty-five-year-old. He will have fulfilled his contract.

“Yeah,” he says, popping open his beer, “I don’t know what I was thinking.”

Back in 2010, Marvel presented Evans with a nine-picture deal. He insisted he’d sign on for no more than six. Some family members thought he was nuts to dial back such a secure and lucrative gig. Evans saw it differently.

It takes five months to shoot a Marvel movie, and when you tack on the promotional obligations for each one, well, shit, man. Evans knew that for as long as he was bound to Captain America, he would have little time to take on other projects. He wanted to direct, he wanted to play other characters—roles that were more human—like the lead in Gifted, which will hit theaters this month. The script had brought him to tears. Evans managed to squeeze the movie in between Captain America and Avengers films.

FOX Searchlight

In Gifted, Evans stars as Frank Adler. You don’t get much more human than Adler, a grease-under-his-nails boat-engine mechanic living the bachelor life in Florida. After a series of tragic circumstances, Adler becomes a surrogate father to his niece, Mary, a first-grader with the IQ of Einstein. He recognizes that Mary is a little genius, and he does his best to prevent anyone else from noticing. Given the aforementioned circumstances, Adler has witnessed what can happen when a kid with a brilliant mind is pushed too hard too quickly. Then along comes Mary’s teacher. She discovers the child’s gift, and a Kramer vs. Kramer–esque drama ensues.

During a moment in the film when things aren’t going Adler’s way, he sarcastically refers to himself as a “fucking hero.” Evans says the line didn’t lead him to make comparisons between superhero Steve Rogers (aka Captain America) and Everyman hero Frank Adler. But now that you mention it . . .

“With Steve Rogers,” Evans says, “even though you’re on a giant movie with a huge budget and strange costumes, you’re still on a hunt for the truth of the character.” That said, “with Adler, it’s nice to play someone relatable. I think Julianne Moore said, 'The audience doesn’t come to see you; they come to see themselves.’ Adler is someone you can hold up as a mirror for someone in the audience. They’ll be able to far more easily identify with Frank Adler than Steve Rogers.”

Dodger. That’s the name of Evans’s dog, the one who headbutted my nuts and has since done a marvelous job of making amends by nuzzling against me on the couch. Evans got him while he was filming Gifted; one of the last scenes was shot in an animal shelter in Georgia. Evans had wanted a dog ever since his last pooch died in 2012. Then he found himself walking the aisles of this pound, and there was this mixed-breed boxer, wagging his tail and looking like he belonged with Evans.

Dodger is not exactly a name you’d think a die-hard Boston sports fan would pick. His boys from back home have given him a ton of shit over it. But he has not abandoned his Red Sox for the L.A. team. As a kid, he loved the Disney animated movie Oliver & Company, and his favorite character was Dodger. Anticipating the grief he was going to get from his pals, Evans considered other names. “You could name your dog Doorknob,” he says, “and in a month he’s fucking Doorknob.” Evans’s mom convinced him to go with his gut.

Right around when Evans was wrapping Gifted and heading back to L.A. with Dodger, the 2016 presidential campaign was still in that phase when no one, including the actor—a Hillary Clinton supporter—thought Trump had a shot. He still can’t believe Trump won.

“I feel rage,” he says. “I feel fury. It’s unbelievable. People were just so desperate to hear someone say that someone is to blame. They were just so happy to hear that someone was angry. Hear someone say that Washington sucks. They just want something new without actually understanding. I mean, guys like Steve Bannon—Steve Bannon!—this man has no place in politics.”

Evans has made, and continues to make, his political views known on Twitter. He tweeted that Trump ought to “stop energizing lies,” and he recently ended up in a heated Twitter debate with former KKK leader David Duke over Trump’s pick of Jeff Sessions for attorney general. Duke baselessly accused Evans of being anti-Semitic; Evans encouraged Duke to try love: “It’s stronger than hate. It unites us. I promise it’s in you under the anger and fear.” Making political statements and engaging in such public exchanges is a rather risky thing for the star of Captain America to do. Yes, advisors have said as much to him. “Look, I’m in a business where you’ve got to sell tickets,” he says. “But, my God, I would not be able to look at myself in the mirror if I felt strongly about something and didn’t speak up. I think it’s about how you speak up. We’re allowed to disagree. If I state my case and people don’t want to go see my movies as a result, I’m okay with that.”

Trump. Bannon. Politics. Now Evans is animated. He gets off the couch, walks out onto his porch, and lights a cigarette. “Some people say, 'Don’t you see what’s happening? It’s time to yell,' ” Evans says. “Yeah, I see it, and it’s time for calm. Because not everyone who voted for Trump is going to be some horrible bigot. There are a lot of people in that middle; those are the people you can’t lose your credibility with. If you’re trying to change minds, by spewing too much rhetoric you can easily become white noise.”

Evans has a pretty remarkable “How I got to Hollywood” story.

During his junior year of high school, he knew he wanted to act. He was doing it a lot. In school. At his mom’s theater. He loved it. “When you’re doing a play at thirteen years old and have opening night? None of my friends had opening nights. 'I can’t have a sleepover, guys; I have an opening night tonight.' ”

That same year, he did a two-man play. For all of the twenty-plus plays Evans had done up to that point, preparation meant going home, memorizing lines, and doing a few run-throughs with the cast. However, for this play, Fallen Star, he and his costar would rehearse by running dialogue with each other. Hour upon hour, night after night.

Fallen Star is about two friends, one of whom has just died. As the play opens, one of the characters comes home after the funeral to find his dead friend’s ghost. Evans was the ghost. Waiting backstage on opening night, he knew he didn’t have every line memorized, but he had the essence and emotion of the play down. Onstage, he remembers, “I was saying the lines not because they were memorized but because the play was in me. I was believing what I was saying.”

He was hooked. He wanted to do more of this kind of acting—real acting. He wanted to do films, in which the camera was right on him and he could just be the character, rather than theater, in which an actor must perform to the back of the room.

A family friend who was a television actor advised Evans that if he wanted to go to Hollywood, he needed an agent. Toward the end of his junior year, he had a ballsy request for his parents: If he found an internship with a casting agent in New York City, would they allow him to live there and cover the rent? They agreed. Evans landed a gig with Bonnie Finnegan, who was then working on the television show Spin City.

“I just fucked off. I lost my virginity that year. 1999 was one of the best years of my life.” Until it wasn’t.

Evans chose to intern with a casting agent because he figured he had more of a chance to interact with other agents trying to get auditions for their clients.

The kid was sixteen years old.

Finnegan put Evans on the phone; his responsibilities included setting up appointments for auditions. By the end of the summer, he picked the three agents he had the best rapport with and asked each of them to give him a five-minute audition. All three said yes. After seeing his audition, all three were interested.

Evans went with the one Finnegan recommended, Bret Adams, who told Evans to return to New York for auditions in January, television pilot season. Back home, Evans doubled up on a few classes the first semester of his senior year, graduated early, and went back to New York in January. He got the same shithole apartment in Brooklyn and the same internship with Finnegan. He landed a part on the pilot Opposite Sex. Even better, the show got picked up and would start shooting in L.A. that fall.

“I know I’m going to L.A. in August,” Evans says, recalling that period. “So I go home and that spring I would wake up around noon, saunter into high school just to see my buddies, and we’d go get high in the parking lot. I just fucked off. I lost my virginity that year. 1999 was one of the best years of my life.” Until it wasn’t.

He wasn’t in L.A. for even a month when he got a call from home. His parents were divorcing. Evans never saw it coming.

Family and love and the struggles therein are part of what attracted Evans to Gifted.

“In my own life, I have a deep connection with my family and the value of those bonds,” he says. “I’ve always loved stories about people who put their families before themselves. It’s such a noble endeavor. You can’t choose your family, as opposed to friends. Especially in L.A. You really get to see how friendships are put to the test; it stirs everyone’s egos. But if something goes south with a friend, you have the option to say we’re not friends anymore. Your family—that’s your family. Trying to make that system work and trying to make it not just functional but actually enjoyable is a really challenging endeavor, and that’s certainly how it is with my family.”

the plane, a decision is made.

“I want to see you jump first,” Evans shouts my way.

Of course he does.

Like any respectable and legal skydiving center, Skydive Perris, which is providing us with this “experience,” doesn’t just strap a chute on your back. First, you go to a room for a period of instruction. Then you go to another room, where you sign away your rights.

You may be wondering how the star of a billion-dollar franchise with two pictures to shoot gets clearance to jump from an airplane—never mind the low rate of fatalities, as Evans has presented it. So am I.

“Well, they give you all these crazy insurance policies, but even if I die, what are they going to do? Sue my family? They’d probably cast some new guy at a cheaper price and save some money.”

Thinking the answer is almost certainly going to be no, I ask Evans if he’s ever gone skydiving before. Turns out he has, with an ex-girlfriend. Turns out that ex-girlfriend is now married to Justin Timberlake. Evans and Jessica Biel dated off and on from 2001 to 2006. They took the leap together when Biel hatched the idea for one Valentine’s Day. According to media accounts, Evans was recently dating his Gifted costar Jenny Slate, who plays the teacher. “Yeah,” he says, “but I’m steering clear of those questions.” You can almost feel his heart pinch.

“There’s a certain shared life experience that is tough for someone else who’s not in this industry to kind of wrap their head around.”

We end up broadly discussing the unique challenges an international star like Evans faces when it comes to dating, specifically the trust factor. Evans supposes that’s why so many actors date other actors: “There’s a certain shared life experience that is tough for someone else who’s not in this industry to kind of wrap their head around,” he says. “Letting someone go to work with someone for three months and they won’t see them. It really, it certainly puts the relationship to the test.”

In Gifted, there’s a moment when Slate’s character asks Adler what his greatest fear is. Frank Adler’s greatest fear is that he’ll ruin his niece’s life. Evans’s greatest fear is having regrets.

“Like always kind of wanting to be there as opposed to here. I think I’m worried all of a sudden I’ll get old and have regrets, realize that I’ve not cultivated enough of an appreciation for the now and surrendering to the present moment.”

Evans’s musings have something to do with the fact that he has been reading The Surrender Experiment. “It’s about the basic notion that we are only in a good mood when things are going our way,” he says. “The truth is, life is going to unfold as it’s going to unfold regardless of your input. If you are an active participant in that awareness, life kind of washes over you, good or bad. You kind of become Teflon a little bit to the struggles that we self-inflict.”

He continues: “Our conscious minds are very spread out. We worry about the past. We worry about the future. We label. And all of that stuff just makes us very separate. What I’m trying to do is just quiet it down. Put that brain down from time to time and hope those periods of quiet and stillness get longer. When you do that, what rises from the mist is a kind of surrendering. You’re more connected as opposed to being separate. A lot of the questions about destiny or fate or purpose or any of that stuff—it’s not like you get answers. You just realize you didn’t need the questions.”

This here—this stuff about surrendering, letting life unfold, taking the leap—this is why he wanted to go skydiving. It’s why that sixteen-year-old took the leap and did the summer in New York; it’s why he took the leap and turned down the nine-picture deal; it’s why he got Dodger. Surrender. Take the leap.

And so I go first.

Oh, one important detail: Novice jumpers like Evans and me, we don’t jump solo. Thank God. Each of us is doing a tandem jump. Each of us is strapped with our back to a professional jumper’s front. I’m strapped to a forty-four-year-old dude named Paul. Considering what’s about to happen, I figure I should know a little something about Paul. He tells me he used to own a bar in Chicago. Evans is strapped to a young woman named Sam, who looks to be twenty-something. She’s got a purplish-pink streak in her black hair and says things like “badass.” In fact, Sam introduced herself  by saying, “I’m Sam, but you can call me Badass.”

At the plane’s open door, my mind goes to my wife and two teenage sons, to those I love, and to the texts I just sent in case my chute fails. Then Paul and I—well, really mostly Paul—rock gently back and forth to build momentum to push away from the plane, to push away from all that seems sane.

Three.

Two.

One.

Holy fuck.

HOLY FUCK. This is what I scream as we free-fall from 12,500 feet, at more than a hundred miles an hour, toward the earth. Which I cannot take my eyes off of. I think about nothing. Not living. Not dying. Nothing. I simply feel . . . I have let go.

Suddenly, it all stops. I’m jerked up. Paul has pulled the chute, and it does indeed open. This is fantastic, because it means we have a much better chance of not dying. But it’s also kind of a bummer. I had let go. Of everything. I had chosen to play those odds Evans had talked about. I had embraced jumping and letting life unfold.

Now I had been jerked back. I would land. Back on the earth I had been so high above and from which I had been so far removed. Back in all of it.

Once I’m on the ground, safe and in one piece, a staffer runs over and asks how I feel. I say, “I feel like Captain America.”

The staffer runs over and asks Evans the same question. He says he feels great. Then he’s asked another question: What was your favorite part?

“Jumping out,” he says. “Jumping out is always a real thrill.”

This article appears in the April '17 issue of Esquire.

Is ‘THAT FINAL SCENE’ in the trailer ‘misdirection’ or not? And is this even the right question to be asking? Should we not instead ask why it’s even there in the first place?

It’s so intriguing to see how people are reacting to it, but I think we can all agree that yjis left us all speechless. In my case, and I suspect for a lot of us, it was validation. Finally, validation that regardless of what’s in the final cut of the film, Lucasfilm has set out to have these two characters be more than simple opposites on a chessboard. That alone quite frankly is enough for me. Seeing it through the advertising, the posters and Rian Johnson’s comments is one thing, but to actually see it displayed on film? That is a whole other ballgame.

Again, like all of us, I had to calm down a bit before putting my thinking cap back on again, and rationally I started to think about why this scene had been put into the trailer. Was it necessary and what was Lucasfilm’s motivation behind this?

Some of you might disagree, and I know this might seem rather pessimistic, but I think Rian Johnson was genuinely nervous about this trailer.

Maybe the reason why he was posting so much about the trailer was because he was aware of how much the general audience still hated Kylo Ren and not even in the way that you love to hate your villains. It might partially have been because of the twitter comments he received, but I actually think he started to notice this long beforehand, when he first started doing interviews for this film. He holds his ground, that is for certain, but I think he felt that the marketing for the film had to be drastically different to the ‘nebulous’ way TFA was promoted. He quickly found out that people came away from ‘The Force Awakens’ with drastically different viewpoints and ideas about what had happened and how they viewed the new characters.

The main reason for this trailer was for Lucasfilm to say ‘guys, this is where we’re going, this is what we see as the themes of this film’.

No, I don’t think they’re messing with us, not this time. And here’s why.

A couple months ago during celebration, it was clear that the cast was making fun of the ‘Rey Skywalker’ theory. Rey’s origin was a deliberate mystery box, but clearly it was one which Rian couldn’t give two f*cks about (I mean this in a good way). As Rian has said recently, it’s just information, plot, and it doesn’t really mean anything. Hence the reason behind the cast messing around during Star Wars Celebration and teasing fans about it. The same thing can be applied to Finn and the whole lightsaber fiasco – is he a jedi or not? That was misdirection. ‘Your Snoke theory sucks’. You get the idea.

The thing with the final shot of the trailer however, is that it is not a simple plot point. Many people seem to view it that way and that is why they are weary that it might be misdirection. But if you look at the nature of that shot, what it could for the future of the franchise, you quickly realize that isn’t what they’re showing here.

That wasn’t Lucasfilm showing a specific plot point, dangling the question of whether Rey was going to turn to the dark side or not. Some say Kylo is tempting Rey here, but I don’t think that’s what’s happening. As many have already pointed out, you can tell from this shot that Kylo is extremely passive. He doesn’t wear a maniacal grin on his face like Palpatine.

What they were trying to convey there was theme, something almost symbolic. Not plot.

Maybe those two shots are from completely different scenes (I personally think they are and you’ll find out why when I write my post about what I think will actually happen in TLJ).

Maybe they’re from the same scene.

But I don’t think it matters. Because the point is, Lucasfilm put in the effort to put this in the trailer. Why would they do that if this idea of two people being lost and trying to find their way together was completely irrelevant to the film?

It’s not logical.

I think it is meant to echo what Rian has been saying for the last couple of weeks during his interviews. That Kylo and Rey are dual protagonists, two halves that will inevitably collide.

Another interesting thing is that fact that the trailer cuts deliberately to black before the final scene. It was extra and did not have to be there. They made a point of separating it from the rest of the trailer so that people remembered it and thought about it.

I think Rian gave the okay because he realized the audience may have needed more prodding than he expected. Hence the emphasis on Kylo Ren. It’s very on the nose, almost too obvious that quite frankly I was gobsmacked when I saw it.

Clearly the trailer wants you to compare Rey and Kylo and see that they are not so different. The trajectory is clear. It’s not misinformation.

And furthermore, it’s in the trailer because that IS NOT the biggest reveal of the film and that gets me REALLY excited because I expected them to keep this hidden.

So what is the big reveal? Well, just wait till I write up my post on what I think will transpire in the TLJ (that could end up being a spoiler-fest so be warned).

Thank you so much for all the reblogs and comments from the previous post! I was not expecting such a huge response but it was lovely to see so many people share their sentiments about it. This is why fandom exists and why Star Wars has survived for as long as it has! The strength of fans and their passions, regardless of what they agree or disagree on. Next post should be coming soon so stay tuned :P

rain (reddie) ch. 1

Type: Series

Summary: Richie and Eddie had dated each other for a long time, and things had been going great - or so, they thought. After Eddie comes home to an empty apartment and a note left behind, the loving relationship of four years tragically ended. Years of never speaking to each other later, the wedding of Beverly and Ben brings everyone back together, including Eddie and Richie. Hotel room mix-ups, drunken confessions, loud arguments between several losers, bad parties, old childhood games, memories, music, love, and drama ensues over the week of preparing for the wedding.

Pairing(s): Reddie, Stenbrough, Benverly

Word count: 2.2k

Chapter Warnings: Your heart might hurt a little

A/N: I’ve written two one shots so far and people seem to like them, so I thought I’d try my hand at a full blown fic. I hope it takes off, because I have some great ideas for this. If you’d like to be updated with the tagging system on possible future chapters, just let me know! Oh, and the losers are around 27 years of age to help out a bit. There will be some stenbrough and benverly involved, but it’ll mostly center around reddie.

Also, big shout out to @r-u-reddie for being the beta of this fic. Without Rose, this shit would’ve been hella bad. She went the whole nine yards in being a beta, so she deserves major credit for this chapter and the next chapters to come. @reddie-asheck did a bit of beta-ing for the first half of the chapter, so they deserve a shout out as well!

One last thing before I shut my mouth - The song I listened to to get into the mood for tihs chapter is Happier by Ed Sheeran. Enjoy guys!

“Richie, are you here?”

A trembling, but soft sigh sounded past the blue tinted lips of Eddie Kaspbrak as he closed the wooden door behind him, visibly wincing at the squeaking sounds of his sneakers as they collided with the hardwood floor beneath him.

It was raining. Hard. His previously dry jacket was now soaked to the point that his once-dry clothes took a heavy hit as well.

This caused Eddie’s body to tremble like an autumn leaf, but the immense relief he felt once walking into the warm apartment helped to curb the effect a bit.

“Richie? Did you fall asleep in my bed again?” Eddie called out once more, carefully removing his shoes before walking further inside of his small abode.

There wasn’t much to his apartment; it unfortunately lacked space. It contained one bedroom, one bathroom, and a kitchen/living room that shared the same area. In fact, the common area wasn’t too much bigger than his room, but that was fine to him. He had what he needed. Besides, living in New York meant that any decent apartment would cost a fortune.

He had done his best to make it his own by using subtle, but neat decorations to line his walls and inexpensive furniture in hopes of not making it too cluttered.

After grabbing a towel to dry himself off with, running it over his curls, Eddie walked over to his bedroom to see if his theory was correct. However, a deep frown began to settle on his face when he found both his bed and bedroom empty.

‘Where the hell is he?’ Eddie thought to himself, trying not to become worked up over his boyfriend’s absence.

Sharpie Promises

Note: I don’t know if I’ll publish this or not, but basically, I’m a ho for TMNT and soulmate AUs and I’ve never seen a TMNT Soulmate AU, so here you go. It’s the 2k14/2k16 turtles btw. Idk. I might do more of these if you guys like it.

Raphael wasn’t human. He had struggled with this, but had eventually come to terms with the fact. He didn’t have a soulmate and he wouldn’t ever find love. Not in a world full of humans. He tried to be all right with it. Keyword: tried.

It wasn’t until he was working out one day that he felt something cold and wet travelling across his left forearm. Just as quickly as it had started, it stopped. He removed his three-fingered hands from the weight he had been lifting and sat up to examine it.

Hi.

Messy black letters written in Sharpie. His green eyes narrowed. What was this? He had never felt or seen anything like this. But there it was, plain as day on his arm. He stared at it, afraid that the words would disappear, but no. They stayed right where they were. And then soon after, more appeared from nowhere, as though a ghost was writing on his arm with an invisible marker.

So, it’s like three in the morning here and I don’t know if I’m doing this right, but um, hi.

A long pause. Raph stared in amazement, too shocked to say anything.

You’re probably asleep, aren’t you? Dammit. Well, um…bye, I guess.

He had never run so fast in his life.

“Woah, woah, watch it!” Donnie raised his arms as Raph pushed his chair away from his station and grabbed a Sharpie, pulling off the cap between his teeth and scrawling in the empty space on his arm.

Wait.

***

Your heart raced as a response finally appeared.

Wait.

Big, messy letters that you could tell had been written in a rush.

I’m here. Who are you? What’s happening?

You stared at the letters, the handwriting. Your stomach dropped, the nerves kicking in. This was it. This was your soulmate. You had no idea how this worked. No one did, but it worked, and that was all that mattered. A magical pen-pal from far away, probably. Why anyone would be up at this ungodly hour besides you was beyond you. But now you had to reply. You turned over your arm to write back.

I’m (Y/N). Your soulmate, I think. I don’t know…this is what everyone else does, but I’ve always been too shy to try.

***

Soulmate.

Raph’s heart skipped a beat when the word was written on his arm. Soulmate. He had a soulmate. He actually had…Oh my God.

“Raph, are you crying?” Mikey asked, looking up at his older brother, whose eyes certainly looked a little misty.

“N-no. I just got dirt in my eye. Go away.” He sniffled and smiled.

“Whatcha doin’?” the youngest turtle looked over Raph’s shoulder and scanned a few words before he raised his arm far above Mikey’s head, but he had already seen it. Soulmate. “You…you have a soulmate?”

“I guess so.” Raph shrugged. By now, Donnie and Leo were paying attention to what was happening.

“You have a what?” Donnie’s head snapped around. He pulled down Raph’s arm to examine it. But there it was, plain as day. What the internet described as a ‘soulmate exchange’. “I didn’t think it was scientifically possible for you…for us to have…”

“Are you serious?” Leo came over to look.

“What do I look like? A freakin’ museum?” Raph snapped. “Now go away. I gotta write ‘er back.” The others gave him some space as he walked over to the couch and sat down, the tip of the Sharpie hovering over his green arm.

Soulmate, huh? Did think I had one of those. Name’s Raphael. Nice to meet ya.

***

What are you, a renaissance artist? Lol JK

Something like that.

So where are you from, Mr. Renaissance Artist?

New York, New York.

Seattle, Washington. Well, this might be a little complicated, huh?

Something like that…

***

You wrote to Raphael until the sun came up and then you crashed. You had thought it was a dream until you saw the words written there the next morning. You had a soulmate. His name was Raphael. He was from New York.

But at least he existed. It could be a lot worse.

It wasn’t until about noon, three o’clock there, that you wrote to him again, after having wiped your arm off to give you more room to write.

Good morning.

You wake up at noon?

Only when I’m up until sunrise talking to my soulmate.

Fair enough.

So how’s your day been?

Overwhelming.

Fair enough.

***

Leo, Donnie, and Mikey were all bunched behind Raphael to watch.

“Go away!”

“Dude, we just wanna watch.” Mikey whined.

“Go! Away!”

“All right, sheesh,” Donnie walked back to his lab, and Leo and Mikey reluctantly walked away.

So…

He wrote.

What’cha wanna talk about?

I don’t know.

What’s it like in Seattle?

Rainy. What’s it like in New York?

Noisy. He replied, a smirk spreading across his scarred lips. How old are you?

Seventeen.

Same.

Nice. How tall are you?

Like 6’5”-ish.

Holy shit! You’re gonna have to bend down to kiss me.

Kiss you. He was going to kiss you. Eventually. A new concept. Butterflies spread through his stomach, but he tried to play it off.

You a shorty?

Compared to you, yeah. Always had a thing, for tall guys, though. No worries. ;)

He smiled.

Got any hobbies? You asked.

Ninjitsu, bein’ a giant mutant turtle, etc…

Uh, I knit sometimes. And I work out. A lot.

Mr. Muscles the Knitting Renaissance Artist. You keep getting better and better.

So what do you do for fun, Shorty in Seattle?

Oh you know, read, write, spend ungodly amounts of time on the internet.

Sounds fun.

It is. So, anyways, I’ve been looking into New York travel recently (and by recently I mean right now immediately) for reasons, you know. Anyway, what area of New York should I travel to in…ten months when I go to college (that I’ve just applied to) there?

***

After a long day of talking to you and patrolling and trying to work out, Raph was exhausted. He laid in his top bunk, reading your ramble with a smile.

After replying, he knew it was time to go to sleep.

I’m wiped. I gotta sleep.

Oh, okay. Goodnight Raph.

Night, (nickname).

I love you.

His heart skipped a beat.

I love you too.

I can’t wait to meet you.

Already countin’ down the days, babe.

Me too.

***

Weeks later, you got an idea.

So, theoretically, if I were to Skype you, would you pick up?

I don’t have a Skype.

I want to hear your voice.

I can call you, if you want. I just don’t do video chats?

Why?

Because I’m a giant freaking mutant turtle and I don’t want my soulmate to hate and/or be afraid of me.

I want to see you for the first time in person.

All right then. Here’s my number.

You waited in bated breath for your phone to ring, and then suddenly it did. Your thumb hovered above the accept button. You felt like your whole body was trembling.

“Hey there.” You could hear the shaking in your voice. He chuckled, and already you loved the sound of his laugh.

“Hey yourself,”

“Oh my God, I love your voice.” You gushed.

“I love yours too, shorty.”

“Aaaaah! Your accent is so hot!”

“Heh, yeah.” He smiled.

“Ooh, are you talking to (Y/N)?” Mikey asked. “Can I say hi?”

“No, you can’t. Shoo.”

“Who’s that?” You asked.

“My little brother.” Mikey tried to reach up and grab Raph’s phone, but he squirmed away from him. “Mikey, go away!”

“But-!”

“Go away!”

“I wanna say hi to your girlfriend!!”

“Mikey, leave Raph alone.” Leo smirked from across the lair. The youngest brother left, deflated.

“Sorry ‘bout that. Where were we?”

“I was gushing over your very attractive voice, Mr. Muscles.”

“Ah. Right.” He tried not to blush and failed miserably. A slow smirk snuck across his lips. “I love you.”

“I love you too!”

***

“Did you get it yet?” Raph called you a few months before you were supposed to arrive. As the day approached, he got more and more anxious. You would be here in New York and he wouldn’t be able to skirt around the truth anymore. He was a giant turtle and you were a human girl. It wasn’t going to work out.

But nonetheless, he had sent you something. Something to remember him by if it didn’t work out, he supposed.

“It came in today! I haven’t opened it yet, though. I’m going to right now. Give me a sec, I’m gonna put you on speaker.”

“All right.” Raph listened as you set down your phone and put him on speaker. Then came the noise of you cutting the tape and opening the small cardboard box and sifting through the tissue paper.

“Oh my gosh! It’s amazing! I love it! You really made this?”

“I did.” He smirked. You held up the perfect little pendant. A polished wooden turtle that Raphael had carved himself. It hung from a simple twine string. You put it on immediately, tying the necklace around your neck. You let your fingers run over all of the intricate little grooves.

“I’m never taking it off, I hope you know that.”

“I’m flattered.” He chuckled. “I can’t wait to see how it looks on ya.”

“I can’t wait to see you.”

A nervous little laugh.

“Yeah. Pretty soon, now.”

“It couldn’t come soon enough.” You smiled warmly. “It’s late. I’m gonna get some sleep. Exams tomorrow and then I’m out of school for the summer. And then, only two months until I get to see you.”

“Well, you rest up, shorty. Get good grades. I don’t want ya to fail.”

“Good night. I love you.”

“I love ya too. Night.”

When he hung up, he stared at the ceiling. God, what was he gonna do?

***

You were full of jitters when you landed in New York two short months later. The time had crawled by so slow, but you passed the time. And now you were here, the center of the modern world.

“I’m here! I just landed! When do you want to meet up?”

“Um, how about you get settled? Go to your apartment or whatever. I’ll come over tonight.”

“Okay.” Your heart raced. “Okay. I’ll see you then. I’ll uh, get you the address once I find it.”

“Sounds like a plan. Stay safe. I’ll see ya tonight.”

“See you.” When you hung up, Raph started to pace through the lair.

“I’m going to see her tonight. Oh my God. She’s gonna find out I’m a giant turtle and she’s gonna hate me.”

“Statistically, after ten months of-”

“No more science bulllshit, Don! I’m a freak! She’s gonna run screamin’ and I’ll never see her again!”

“It’ll be fine, Raph. You’re over reacting. As usual.” Leo’s tone was cool, annoyed. “She loves you. We’d have to be blind not to see that.”

“I guess we’ll find out tonight, huh?” He slumped onto the couch, a deep dread setting in. Tonight was not going to be pretty. He knew it.

***

After you had unpacked and met your roommate, a very nice woman named April who had been searching for a roommate for some time now, you called Raph and gave him an address. He asked about how things were and so you told him about your roommate. He chuckled. Well, that might make things a little easier. He told you he wasn’t far and he would be over in a few.

“Who’s that?” April asked after you hung up.

“My soulmate. He’s the reason I moved here, actually. He’s coming here if that’s okay.”

“More than fine with me.” She smiled. “What’s his name?”

“Raphael.” You told her. Her face lit up in surprise. Now the turtle necklace she had complimented you on when you walked in made a whole lot of sense. She doubted that you knew why though.

So this was the (Y/N) he had talked about. His soulmate. Shorty from Seattle.

“Nice name.”

“I know, right?” Your phone buzzed. “Oh my God, it’s him.”

“Hey babe, come outside.” You stood there in confusion for a second. “Fire escape.”

“Oh, okay. I’ll be down in a sec.” You nodded, tucking the phone away. Your heart raced as you climbed out the window and down the metal fire escape to the alley below. There, in the shadows stood a very tall, very large silhouette.

“Hey there.” It was him. His voice. In person. “I uh, I need ya to promise me something, gorgeous.”

“What?”

“Just…p-promise you won’t scream.”

“Why would I-?”

“Promise.”

“I promise.” You stated certainly.

“I, uh, I ain’t exactly…normal.”

“I love you, Raph.”

“You won’t when you see me.” His voice was quiet as all of his insecurities came to the surface.

“Raphael,” You reached out for him, hand forward for a long few moments until his three-fingered green one met it, pressing against it like Tarzan and Jane. Something familiar and something foreign. You gasped quietly, but when he moved to pull away, you gripped one of his large fingers. “Please.”

He let out a long sigh, considering bolting then and there, but he gave in and took a few slow, heavy steps out of the dark to where you could see him. Your soulmate was a giant mutant turtle. He waited for the sting of rejection, for the tears of disappointment streaming down your cheeks, but they never came. Instead, you pulled his muscular arms around yourself, clinging to him as though this was your last chance. He held you tight against his plastron, his knees giving out in the wave of relief that washed over him. Raph buried his face in the crook of your neck, and you felt hot tears against your skin.

Thank you.” A broken whisper from his scarred lips. “Thank you.”

“I love you.” You kissed his cheek and then his forehead, and you lifted his face to look at the green face under the tattered red bandana.

“All ‘uh this don’t bug you?” He asked, tear-filled green eyes searching yours. “You don’t care that I’m a freak?”

“You’re not a freak, Raphael.” The feeling of your soft skin against his face drove him up the wall in the best possible way. “Not to me.”

“Are ya just sayin’ that because I’m your soulmate?”

“I mean it.” You locked eyes with him and he felt as though you were staring into his soul. His smile was the most gorgeous thing you had ever seen. Curiosity sparked behind your eyes as you examined every inch of him, taking him in. “What are you?”

There wasn’t hatred or fear in your voice, only awe.

“I’m a mutant. A turtle. Hence the uh-” he motioned to the necklace around your neck. “That.”

“I love turtles,” You whispered as you kissed his snout. You were so close. So close he could just about…

You closed the gap between you, pressing a soft kiss to his lips. He didn’t know how to respond, but followed his instincts and tried his hardest to kiss you back. His large hands held your hips and your small hands framed his jaw before moving to his shoulders, fingers gently searching the terrain of his shell.

When you finally pulled away from him, you looked at him for a long time.

“Hey do you wanna come up for pizza?” April called down from the apartment window.

“Yeah, sure April. Are the guys coming?”

“Just got off the phone with Leo. They’re on their way.”

“Wait, you two know eachother?” You asked. Raph smiled and shrugged, finally getting to his feet and taking you with him. God, he was so tall.

“We go way back.” April smiled. “I named him.”

“What?”

“Long story. Come on, shorty.” He picked you up off of the ground as if you weighed nothing and carried you on his hip, your feet dangling a foot in the air. “’Bout time you met my brothers, huh?”

***

After you had met his brothers and enjoyed some celebratory pizza, the six of you had settled down to watch a movie. At the moment, Raph was spread out on the couch with you laying on top of him and a cozy red blanket draped over both of you. He nuzzled into your neck as your hands traced gentle circles on his plastron.

“I love you, Raphael.” You kissed his jaw. He hummed contentedly.

“I love you too, soulmate.” The word had never sounded so right.

iamnmbr3  asked:

Is it just me or is there a disconnect between how Tony is portrayed in CW and how Marvel treats his portrayal in that movie? Like, when I watched it for the first time, I thought he was clearly in the wrong and acting in an unjustifiable manner. Same for other people who have watched it with me. But then I feel like a lot of Marvel people act as though it was "morally ambiguous situation" or as though "both sides were right" or whatever when that really, really was not the case AT ALL.

Oh I totally 100% agree with this. Like i get that they had to be kinda on the fence about it bc the concept of getting people to choose a side is what drove the marketing campaign, but from the way they were talking i was like hmm will i be swayed? Instead I walked into the room 100% Team Cap and somehow left the cinema even more Team Cap than before I saw the movie. I’d put this under a read more but it’s 3am and I’m on mobile so apologies, bc it’s gonna be long. I have a lot of things to say on this topic.

There was nothing morally ambiguous about it. There was no “both sides were right and wrong and it’s hard to choose”, like that mentality makes no sense to me. Or rather it does make sense, but I wish it didn’t.

Steve’s stance in this movie regarding the accords was about taking responsibility for your own actions. About having the power to choose only to use their enhanced abilities to help and do good. About owning the consequences of their actions if they choose to help. It was about not handing those consequences off to someone else. It was about not allowing people with agendas to potentially send them into a situation where they’re using there abilities to hurt rather than help. Which given what happened with SHIELD, you can’t exactly blame him for.

Tony’s stance regarding the accords was one that was much more driven by ego - something that drives a large amount of his decisions throughout the MCU at large as well as the rest of this film, as noted by Natasha. Tony felt guilty. He knew his choice to create Ultron against the suggestion of basically everyone is what led to the events in Sokovia. On top of that he gets cornered by a grieving mother who says she also blames him for the death of her son in Sokovia. Tony doesn’t want that guilt. He wants someone else to make the decisions for him. He wants someone else to say “yes you can be here” and “no you can’t go there” because that way, when things go well and they save the day with little to no casualties they get to be the heroes, they get the press. And we know Tony loves to be the showman, he loves the attention, bc as previously mentioned - he’s driven by ego. However when things do go wrong, he can appease his conscience by saying “I didn’t choose to be here, you gave me the order to be here, that choice was yours, that responsibility is on your shoulders.” - He wants the glory with none of the responsibility. He also wants the accords to cut down his workload so Pepper will come back to him. He literally says that. Tony stans are super quick to call Steve selfish for helping Bucky, but conveniently ignore the fact Tony says that Pepper left him bc he was spending too much time focused on the suits and being Iron Man, and he hoped the accords would give him a medium between the two so he could fix that.

And then there’s Steve and Bucky. I cannot physically wrap my head around the idea that people call Steve’s actions in this movie selfish. Especially given where Bucky ends up at the end of this movie. Steve’s actions were not dictated by the simple fact he wanted his friend back. They were dictated by the fact that no one else was trying to help him. No one else believed there was any world in which Bucky was innocent. No one else was trying to look out for him. And when has Steve ever done anything but look out for the little guy, the underdog? Even when he was the little guy, he was still looking out for anyone without someone in their corner. Had Steve made any choices different to the ones he had, Bucky would have died. Had he let someone else go to Bucharest to get him, Bucky would have been shot on sight, despite not being guilty. The government laughed at the idea of even giving Bucky a lawyer, they’d already decided his guilt, so had Steve handed Bucky over when Tony demanded, Bucky would have been given a trial by people that had decided his fate and already believed him a traitor to his country. He wasn’t being selfish, he was trying to save a life that no one else thought was worth saving.

Tony was so caught up in his stance being right, he didn’t even register that Steve had stopped even fighting about the Accords. When they met at the airport Tony was still there about the accords and about bringing them in, and he would not back down from that. Steve wasn’t there about that. And he told Tony this. He told him that Bucky hadn’t been the one behind the UN attack. He told him who actually was. He told him about the other soldiers in Siberia. He told him about Zemo travelling there and the danger posed if he activated 5 Winter Soldiers. He told him that he needed to get there before that happened. Steve was trying to do his job as an Avenger, to help people. Tony was too caught up in his own need to be right to realise that. Tony was willing to let all that shit happen rather than admit he was wrong.

And then at the end. When Zemo plays the video of The Winter Soldier killing his parents. Tony stans try and justify his reaction by saying it was instinctive. That he reacted to seeing the guy who killed his parents in front of him. But Tony stans just see what they want to see instead of what was actually there. Tony’s reaction was not to Bucky. His reaction was to Steve. He saw the video and he didn’t react. He asked Steve if he’d known, and when Steve says he hadn’t known it was him, he asks him again. And when Steve admits he had known, that’s when Tony reacts. That’s when Tony goes for Bucky. Which the writers have said was Tony recognising Bucky was the thing Steve loved most, and wanting to take it from him to hurt him for not telling him. He knows it wasn’t Bucky that killed his parents, he acknowledges it more than once, but he doesn’t care.

And Tony gets away with it. He gets excused for it. He breaks the rules of the accords he was so strongly in support of, and he gets off scot free. Meanwhile Sam and Clint and Scott and Wanda are locked in an underground prison cell. And it’s because Tony is the epitome of both White Male Privilege and Money Can’t Buy Everything But It Can Buy Anything. He’s rich, he’s powerful, he’s white, he’s male, and that means he does shitty things and gets away with it. He doesn’t have to worry about the consequences of his actions because his consequences are never so severe he can’t buy his way out.

You remember in Captain America: The First Avenger, Erskine says to Steve “A strong man, who has known power all his life may lose respect for that power. But a weak man knows the value of strength, and knows compassion”? Apply that to Tony and Steve in this movie because it explains the way they behave perfectly. Tony is the first man described. He grew up in wealth, he grew up in a powerful family with a powerful name, he always had privilege, and now in this film he wants to use that privilege to pass off the responsibility that comes with his power. Steve is the second guy. Who was the little guy, who had to fight for everything he got. Who lived majority of his life as the little guy, and even with his bigger body and new abilities, still has the mindset of the little guy. Still knows and remembers all too well what it was like not to have any sort of power at all, and how important it is to use that power to help the best way you can. And knows you have to be respectful of everything that comes with that power, including taking responsibility for it.

That was longer than i thought it would be so tl;dr - i agree, there was a HUGE disconnect between the marketing of it vs the reality of it in the film.

TITLE:  Faking It

IMAGINE: (Y/N) and Steve are both tired of their friends (namely Sam and Tony), trying to set them up with people. What happens when one night they decide to take control of their own love lives and teach Sam and Tony a lesson? (x)

‘The question of whether we can fight fate will always remain a mystery. But the bigger question is what happens when we stop fighting it.’

“Tony, for the last fucking time, I don’t want to go on a date with your friend!” (Y/N) yelled exasperated as she threw a piece of bread at him. “How many times do I have to tell you?”

“Come on, he’s totally your type and you guys would be perfect for each other,” his voice now took on a whining tone and (Y/N) rolled her eyes. “Please, just this one time?”

(Y/N) smiled sweetly at him, “No.” She hopped off the stool she was sitting on, “Last time I agreed to one of your dates he started crying when they brought the entree, and then again when we started having sex.”

Steve placed his hands on his knees as he bent over, trying to catch his breath. “Good run, Cap” He looked behind him and saw Sam jogging to where he was.

“You were so close in beating me this time,” he placed his hands on his back and stretched. Steve groaned as he began rubbing his shoulders.

“You busy tonight?”

Steve shook his head, “No, why?”

“There’s this girl,” Sam started but Steve glared at him. “Now, hear me out, she’s lovely and-,” Sam didn’t finish as Steve held up a hand.

“Look, I don’t want to Sam. I mean I’ve tried this thing before when Nat tried to set me up and it just didn’t work out. If I want to start dating, I’ll do it through my own way.” Steve clasped a hand on Sam’s shoulder. “Thanks though.”

(Y/N) fiddled with the screwdriver in Bruce’s lab, “I thought you wanted my help on a formula Bruce, but all I’ve done is play with your tools.”

Bruce turned around with a sheepish smile on his face, “Sorry (Y/N). It’s on that table if you want to have a look at it.”

She smiled at him and walked to the table. Leaning on it with her arms, she began scanning it. (Y/N) was focused until Tony barged in.

“Guys, I just got us a reservation at Top Stem!”

(Y/N) looked over at Bruce, then turned back to Tony, “Isn’t that the hipster bar in Brooklyn?”

Tony smiled and nodded, “Yep. Know a guy and he managed to book us a table.”

“What’s the occasion?”

“I mean everyone’s here since forever,” Tony shrugged. She knew that it meant more to him that he could ever admit. After the Civil War broke out between the group, tensions ran high and even though it’s been 5 years since the event happened the group still wasn’t as it was before.

“I’m in,” Bruce smiled.

“Me too,” (Y/N) smiled and continued reading the document. She was too engrossed once again so she didn’t notice the scheming look between Bruce and Tony.

“I’m at the restaurant Sam, and nobody’s here yet,” Steve spoke into the phone, peering in every now and then into the restaurant. “It is the Top Stem, right?” He asked. “Alright, I’ll go in, but if you’re not here or anyone in the next 15 minutes, I’m leaving.” With that, Steve hung up and walked in.

When he was seated he saw that the bar was dimly lit, giving it an intimate feel, especially with the single flower in the middle of the table. He frowned at the multiple empty chairs that circled the table.

“Rogers?” He heard his name and looked up from the menu. He saw (Y/N), and in that moment he allowed himself to bask in her beauty. He hasn’t spoken to her in a long time. Of course, their relationship was never friendly, but still, he missed the fights and the banter, and the wanting to rip her clothes to shred and push her up against the wall. Steve coughed, making sure that he wasn’t blushing when he replied to her.

“Are we the first ones here?” (Y/N) asked, sitting down across from him. Steve nodded. “Fantastic,” she grumbled.

“That hurts (Y/L/N),” he gave her a smirk and she smiled largely at him.

After 10 minutes passed, (Y/N) opened her phone and texted Tony’s number.

‘Where are you guys?’

“Tony?” Steve nodded towards the phone.

“Yeah, I mean our friends are little shits, but they’re usually around five minutes late,” she checked her watch, “not ten.”

Suddenly a buzz went through the table.

‘At home. Have fun ;)’

“For fucks sake,” (Y/N) groaned. “By any chance did Sam want to set you up with someone before this?”

Realization went through him and he cursed, “Are you fucking serious?”

(Y/N) laughed at him, “Language, Cap.”

“Our friends are shit.”

“I’ll drink to that.” (Y/N) raised her glass and gulped it down. “I can’t believe I fell for this, I mean it’s a Stark plan,” she sneered. “Those usually have more holes than Swiss cheese.”

“Sam and Tony schemed us. Us out of all people!”

(Y/N) agreed, “Fuck. You know what we should do?”

Steve looked at her, he knew that look. It was that look before a scheme hatched in her mind, god he knew that look. He loved that look. He got turned on by that look. “What?”

“Since our dear friends thought that they could out scheme us, why don’t we show them just how great we can be together?” He gestured for her to go on. “Let’s pretend to date and then we’ll have this dramatic fall out after like a month or so and then they’ll don’t know what to do because we’ll force them to choose sides. Then, we’ll come out and say, ‘it wasn’t real, but this could be the outcome if you keep fucking with our lives.’”

Steve sat back for a while. Usually he was a good guy, he wouldn’t scheme, but sometimes (Y/N) brought out that Steve he wanted to be when he was younger. One that wouldn’t take shit from anyone. He got that chance when (Y/N) entered in his life.

“I’m in.”

3 weeks into ‘dating.’

“I can’t believe that you and Capsicle are dating now,” Tony sat down next to her, a bowl of cereal placed in front of him. “I mean, I thought you would high-tail out of there but not before throwing a drink in his face.”

(Y/N) shrugged, “Well, when I first saw him that’s what I wanted to do. I guess old habits die hard, but once we got talking, it was just realization. I just realized just how much we were alike, but so different at the same time.”

“Ew,” Tony shoved her lightly. “Can you spare me the romantic feelings?”

She threw a piece of granola at him. What surprised her was just how true her statement was.

3.5 Weeks into ‘dating’

“So what’s the next step on the plan?” Steve asked as he opened the door for her.

“I’m not sure if you’re going to like this, but they have to catch us in a sexual manner to say,” (Y/N) spoke and cringed. “You can just lay on top of me, I know that you don’t want to do any of that until you really like someone.”

“How do you know?”

(Y/N) rolled her eyes, “Oh please. You’re Mr. Poster Guy for having an emotional connection before having sex with a girl,” noticing his casted down eyes, “not that there’s any wrong with that!” She placed a hand on his shoulder.

“I’m just saying, Tony knows me. Tony knows that I don’t need an emotional connection when fucking someone.” She saw that he cringed when she said that. “Sorry.” She stopped walking and leaned into the wall, “He won’t believe we’re dating until he catches us in the act. He believes that we had this weird pent up sexual frustration before.”

Steve laughed, “Sam and Nat said the same thing.”

“Okay, so this is what I have in mind-,” she never got to finish her sentence as Steve pushed her up against the wall, she subconsciously lifted her legs and wrapped it around his waist. (Y/N) wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him in closer, opening her mouth to allow his tongue in. She moaned as he grinded his hips to hers. “Steve, fuck,” she moaned out as he began placing kissed on his neck.

Steve relished in the way she grinded her hips against her. He could feel himself harden against his gym shorts and he really couldn’t care enough to blush or apologize. He almost took her when she began moaning his name. “You like that?” He nipped her jaw as he grinded against her again.

“God yes,” she rolled her head and pulled him in again to kiss him.

They only broke apart when they heard several throats clearing. (Y/N) and Steve broke apart slowly, she opened her eyes and saw that he was staring at her. His normal crystal blue eyes, were darker than she’s ever seen before.

“Get a room,” Tony hollered, backed up by Clint and Sam’s snickering.

Steve and (Y/N) turned their heads, foreheads still touching, to their audience. “Sorry, can’t keep my hands off her, I mean have you seen her?”

Pietro nodded and smugly grinned, “I sure have.”

Steve growled and (Y/N) found herself getting turned on by it. She grinned and lightly bit his earlobe, grinding into him for the extra act. Steve turned his attention back to her and smiled. He pecked her lips once more.

“For the love of god! I’ve given you guys practically a floor each, can you not do it where everyone can see!” Tony complained as he shut his eyes and dramatically walked to the gym. The others walked past, each smiling smugly and laughing.

Once they were out of view and hearing range, Steve allowed (Y/N) to unwrap her legs around him and gently set her down. “Didn’t know that you had in it you Rogers. I’m surprised, pleasantly surprised, but surprised nonetheless.”

Steve didn’t reply to that comment but he did give her a small, shy smile. “I guess they believe that we’re dating now?”

“For sure,” she laughed, still trying to catch her breath. “I’ll see you round Rogers.” With a wink she disappeared, swaying her hips as she did so, knowing that he was watching her. As she walked away she desperately tried to forget how good he felt, how good and right it felt when he kissed her. How he held her in the right places.

She leaned against a wall, “Fuck.” Yup, she was fucking screwed because she’s opening herself up to Steve.

4 Weeks into ‘dating’

“No need to be jealous (Y/N), you know that he only has his eyes and his other things for you,” Bucky whispered as they both watched a flirtatious reported touched Steve’s arm.

(Y/N) refused to admit that she was jealous. She wasn’t jealous at all. She didn’t want to drag him away and claw the woman who had her paws on him. Nope. Not at all. She was only concerned about their plan being thwarted if he couldn’t keep his dick in his pants. She glanced at Bucky and he gave her a supportive smile. “Thanks, Buck.” She touched his arm gently, and that was the time that Steve looked up.

His eyes narrowed as he saw his best friend and his ‘girlfriend-slash-not-girlfriend-but he kinds of has feelings for her?’ closely talking. “So, what would you say was the best thing about the ‘40’s?” Tierney asked as she posed her pencil over the paper.

He turned back to her, giving him her most charming smile and answered.

(Y/N) took a deep breath, her nostrils flaring as she heard the woman’s laugh from across the room. “Breathe,” Bucky warned. They both watched as the reported fiddled with Steve’s tie. “Fuck,” Bucky swore as he watched (Y/N) storming over. “Fuck, fuck, fuck. Why can’t Sam do this?”

(Y/N) stormed over to where they were, standing so close to Steve that he couldn’t physically move away from her. “Am I interrupting something?” She asked sweetly. Steve looked down at (Y/N), to anyone who didn’t know her, they would have just thought that she was asking a simple question, but he knew that tone.

“Uh, I was just doing an interview here with Mr. Rogers,” the woman explained.

(Y/N) turned to her, an eyebrow arched and her jaw clenched, “Are you really?” She felt Steve’s hand wrap around her waist and leaned back into him. She smirked when she saw the reporter’s eyes move to the gesture. “Because from where I stood you were trying to get into my boyfriend’s pants.”  She moved closer to the woman, “Are you really trying to get into my man’s pants?”

“No, no-,” the woman stuttered.

“Good, because fucking another woman’s man is a big no-no, no matter what, understand?”

“I didn’t know that he had a girlfriend,” the woman tried to explain.

“That’s why I’m letting you off, just make sure when you want to flirt with someone, make sure that they’re not taken, otherwise it can get,” (Y/N) tilted her head and gave the woman in front of her another smile, “messy.” With a turn, she faced Steve indicating that the conversation ended. Luckily, the woman took the hint and walked off.

Steve allowed himself to be dragged by into an empty room. She turned around and he saw that she was beyond pissed. “Do you want our plan to go down the drain?”

“Are you jealous?” He laughed at the thought. (Y/N), jealous? In all of the time that he knew her, she never once showed this kind of emotion.

“I’m angry that our plan would be tarnished, yes.”

He walked over to her, smiling all the while. “You were jealous.” He placed his hands on her hips. She shook her head, anger still in his eyes. “Oh really?” She nodded. “So after this whole charade, you wouldn’t mind me dating her,” he ghosted his lips over hers, “fuck her,” now her ear, “make love to her?” He allowed himself to nibble on her ear, earning a moan from her.

“Fuck her all you want,” (Y/N) grasped the tie, pulling him closer, their noses touching, “but you’re mine right now.” She grounded her hips against his, and this time it was him moaning.

As their kisses got more desperate, (Y/N) allowed her to think. How did it come to this situation? Alone, in a room with Steve Rogers of all people trying to undo her dress, which started which jealously? If you told her this 3 years ago, she would have laughed in your face, but at this moment? She allowed herself to enjoy Steve Rogers.

“Steve, fuck! Oh my god!” She yelled as she fisted his hair.

“Better be quiet doll, or someone might come in,” he mumbled against her clit.

“Don’t care,” she mumbled, Steve moved back in this time with more rigor. Her head tilting back, moaning loudly as she did so.

5.5 Weeks into ‘dating’

“Aren’t we supposed to break up now or something?” He dropped it so casually, it was like he was talking about the weather.

She was so stunned that she couldn’t formulate a sentence so she decided on, “What?”

“Wasn’t that the plan?” She stopped playing with his hair and turned to him. He noticed her eyes drop down, her brows furrowed. “Unless you don’t want to.” He teased.

She looked up and clenched her jaw, “No. I just don’t know how to do it dramatically, I mean I haven’t had the time to think with you fucking me.” She yanked herself out of his grasp, and neither would admit it but they missed each others touch.

Steve’s eyes widened with her cold tone, “(Y/N)…”

“Give me until tonight, then I’ll you the plan,” she walked away, her heart beating furiously.

Once she was in her room, she locked the door and sat on her bed. (Y/N) placed her face on her hands. She completely forgot about the plan -with all the sex, the talks about their past and her incessant questions about his childhood, and the weird dates in Brooklyn that she couldn’t help but enjoy. She never thought that when got into this that their goal, her goal of making sure that Tony and the gang never in their life again would blur with one kiss from Steve Rogers.

(Y/N) had it all planned out. She usually knew what was real and what wasn’t, but whenever she was with Steve, she couldn’t help but feel that everything was real.

She stood by the kitchen, whiskey in her hand. (Y/N) texted Steve two minutes ago to meet her so they can ‘break-up’. She didn’t want to, not that she’ll ever voice that thought out. She saw Steve as soon as he entered the kitchen, his face wasn’t impassive as she thought it would be.

He stalked over to her, every Avenger now watching them. He pulled her into him roughly, his hand on her waist, the other on her ass. (Y/N) was shocked, so she hesitantly kissed him back. He broke apart with her, “I need to talk to you.” Steve didn’t allow her to respond, he just grabbed her by the hand and dragged her to his room. They both felt a group of eyes watching them, but they could not care less.

“Rogers, what the hell are you doing?” He locked the door. Steve faced her.

“I love you,” he stated plainly. “I didn’t want to fall in love with you, but fuck, every single smile that you gave me, every single conversation that we had made me fall in love with you. I’m not going to lie, when I first met you I thought that you were one of the most beautiful people I have ever seen, but then you opened your perfect little mouth and you ruined it all.”

He gave a small laugh, “But you didn’t at the same time.” He looked at her, “I wanted you more than anything, the way that you talked to me -you talked to me like I was a normal guy pissing you off, not Captain America. You were the most annoying, frustrating woman in my life, I didn’t know whether I wanted to kill you or fuck you. But I did know one thing, I couldn’t imagine my life without your incessant nagging about everything that I did.”

Steve stopped speaking, they both knew that he was finished talking. (Y/N) stood there, in the middle of Steve’s room, unmoving, no emotion in her eyes. She closed her yes and inhaled.

“Has anyone ever told you that you’re dramatic? You could rival Tony,” She opened her eyes and looked at him. He knew that her words were supposed to be biting but once he saw her eyes, oh god, he could burst out crying. Steve saw the love and admiration that he knew would take awhile for her to voice out. But it was still there. She loved him as well.

“You love me,” he teased and she shrugged laughing all the while. “You know what’s better than normal sex against a wall?” Steve asked.

She moved forward, wrapping her arms around him, her face glowing. “What?”

“Having passionate sex in Tony’s office,” he winked at her and she laughed.

“And they say that I’m the inappropriate one in the relationship!” She grinned at him. He was beautiful and he was hers. “I must say though, you know a way to girl’s heart.”

“Correction, I know the way to your heart.” He grinned down at her, and kissing her for the first time, not because of a scheme or a plan, but because he finally got the girl who managed to make him rip out his hair, kiss her until she’s out of breath and set his soul on fire. Sure, he had a rough road ahead of him, but if she was there with him, he could manage.

“Don’t look now, but Park Jimin is staring at you.”

You rolled your eyes and took another bite of your pizza. “He’s staring at you, Unnie.”

You knew for a fact that Jimin would not be caught dead staring at you. The two of you had been butting heads since the start of your junior year of college. You’re not sure how you managed to avoid him until then, but now that he was in your Fundamentals of Oral Communications class, you couldn’t seem to get rid of him.

“Nope- he’s definitely staring at you.” She giggled, piling her food back onto her tray. You gripped her arm and sent her a pleading look, “I swear to God if you leave me to deal with him, I will lock you out of our dorm.”

“Good thing the RA has the hots for me then, huh?” She winked slipping out of your grasp just as Jimin slid down on the bench next to you.

“I need you to do me a favor.” He was wearing his Lettermans jacket from varsity soccer, his admittedly adorable orange hair peeking from underneath the baseball cap on his head.

“No.”

He laughed, sliding his hand onto your thigh, “I haven’t even told you what it is, yet.”

“When have you ever given me a reason to do something nice for you?” You scoffed, throwing his hand off of you before finishing your pizza. “I hate you.”

“Come on, cupcake, just hear me out.” He whined, placing his hand right back where it started.

You slid your tray away from you, throwing one leg over the bench so you could straddle it and face Jimin head on. You had learned at the beginning of the semester that it was best to show him no mercy. If you gave him an inch he took a mile. “You’ve got ten seconds to tell me what you want and then you’re not going to speak to me for the rest of the day, deal?”

He bit his lip and grinned like he’d won something. “Deal.”

“10…” You cocked an eyebrow.

“Yah!” He laughed, “just wait a minute.”

“Look at the group of guys over my shoulder, but don’t make it obvious.” Your gaze slid from his face over to the trashcans before slowly sliding to his friends watching from across the cafeteria. “Mmm, you take direction so well, Y/n. Is it like that in the bedroom too?”

“7…” You sighed, completely over his perverted comments.

“I told them to point out a girl in the cafeteria that I hadn’t slept with,” He smirked, “Jungkook pointed to you.”

“4….” You kicked your other leg over so it would be easy for you to get away when his time was up, but it proved to be a bad move on your part. Jimin using your new position to his advantage as he wrapped his arms around your waist and scooted as close as he could.

He rested his chin on your shoulder, his breath hitting your ear as he talked. “I’m not really the type of guy to play games, cupcake. I wont lie to you and pretend that I’m interested in anything other than a quick lay. He bet me a pair of Coldplay tickets that I couldn’t get you to sleep with me, so like I said- I need you to do me a favor.”

You burst into laughter, Jimin pouting at your reaction. “Time’s up Jimin-ah, I’m not risking contracting some sort of disease so you can score Coldplay tickets.”

You shoved his hands away from you and went to put your dirty tray away. Coldplay tickets, ha! You were too busy laughing at Jimin’s antics to notice that he was following you. He didn’t know how to back away from a challenge and those tickets had sold out in a matter of seconds. There was no way he was going to let them slip from his fingers.

The next thing you know Jimin’s pinned you to the wall underneath the staircase that leads to the gym on the second floor. Your heart practically jolting through your chest when his body presses against yours. “I can make it worth your while, cupcake. Just tell me what you want and I’ll do it.”

His brown eyes had darkened dangerously, the playful flirt from before having disappeared. “Anything?” you breathed.

His plump lips slipped into a predatory grin, one of his hands dropping from the wall to play with the ends of your hair, his fingertips brushing against the base of your neck. “Anything.”

You bit your lip, Jimin’s eyes zoning in on your movements, before he swallowed. “Don’t do that.”

You ignored him, pulling your lip further in your mouth before letting your teeth drag across it slowly, your eyes pouring into his own. “On your knees, Jiminie, let me see you beg for it.”

“Holy shit,” he whispered, “you’ve been holding out on me, kitten.”

“Don’t waste my time, Jiminie,” you hummed. You loved the way the tables had turned. You hated to admit that your thighs clenched when he slowly sunk down onto his knees. The way he was looking up at you had you imagining all sorts of things you had never thought about him before. The real kicker was when he licked his lips and rubbed his face into your crotch with a, “Please let me fuck you, kitten.”

Oh if his friends could see him now. “Did I say you could touch me?”

He obediently dropped his hands from your waist and sat up straight, his eyes filled to the brim with lust. Jimin, the school’s notorious playboy, liked being dominated in bed. “Be a good boy for me, Jiminie, show me how badly you want to fuck me.”

His eyes darted around the area to make sure you two were shielded from view, before his hands slipped down to palm himself through his jeans. He groaned lowly and your thighs clenched together again. “You’re not as big as they say you are Jiminie, what a pity.”

“Is it because you only want me for a bet? I must not do it for you.” You sighed with mock hurt. He was actually huge, but you wouldn’t be rewarding him with that information. He had a big enough ego as it was.

“I’ve wanted to fuck you since I first saw you, kitten,” he groaned, moving his hand faster against himself. “I wanted to bend you over my desk and make you scream my name. You knew you were teasing me in those god damn knee-high stockings.”

Shit. You hadn’t expected an honest confession to come out of him. You were only teasing, after all, just playing a part. For Jimin to have remembered the outfit you wore to the first day of class, he couldn’t have been lying. “I believe you, so for that I’ll give you a reward.”

“Listen closely,” you purred, circling around him so you were at his back. “I want you to show me how you touched yourself to the thought of me that night, because I know you did Jiminie, show me how you thought I’d touch you.”

“Fuck,” he sighed, rushing to slide his jeans down his thighs. You tangled your hands in the back of his hair, the hat falling to the floor as you pulled his head back so he was forced to look up at you. “If you guess right, I’ll let you taste me.”

He whimpered and electricity rushed up your spine. You felt powerful. It didn’t help that you felt a rush from doing this where anyone could just walk in and see. Jimin would be utterly humiliated to be found on his knees and begging in front of a girl like you, and for some reason that’s what was really getting you going.

Jimin was panting as his hand slid up and down his length. His eyes hadn’t left yours the entire time he touched himself. You could tell he was trying hard to fight back his moans, to fight for some semblance of control in the whole situation. You couldn’t have that. “Tell me how it feels, Jiminie.”

“So good,” he cried, eyes snapping shut. Each one of your words sent a jolt of lightening down his body. This dirty and dominating side of you something he never thought he would see. You hadn’t even touched him and he was already quickly falling apart.

“Come for me, Jiminie.” He panted loudly, eyes opening as he searched your face for some sort of sign you were kidding. “You were doing so good for me, don’t stop now. I really want you to taste me, Jimin.”

Jimin. You had said his name and his name was his undoing. As the white hot heat of his orgasm had him throwing back his head in pleasure you slithered out silently from underneath the staircase, opening the door to slip off to your room.

You fell asleep that night with a permanent smirk etched across your face. You couldn’t stop thinking about how easy it was to have Park Jimin eating out of the palm of your hand. Just one word and he was doing things for you he’d probably never admit to anyone. You had successfully one upped the fuckboy when he was supposed to be the one one-upping you.

You were thankful your roommate was sleeping at her boyfriend’s house when Jimin came banging on your dorm room door at two in the morning. He was banging so hard, you were amazed your RA didn’t come barreling out of his room to curse you out and write you a noise complaint.

“What the fuck are you doing here?” You whisper-shouted, jerking him into your room by the sides of his jacket. “Are you trying to get me kicked out?!”

“I’m calling in my favor,” he growled, slamming his lips into your own. You stiffened, your hands pushing him away only causing him to pull you tighter against him. When you didn’t give in he pulled your lip into his mouth and bit down harshly, causing you to hiss and give him access to slip his tongue past your lips. You moaned at the feel of his wet tongue against your own, memories of the way he touched himself for you earlier flooding your brain.

His lips left your own long enough to ask which bed was yours, before he was sucking and nipping at your neck, leading you over and shoving you down onto your mattress. “You thought you could work me up like that and get away with it?”

“Undress for me, Y/n, you’re not going anywhere this time.” He’s got that predatory look on his face again and you rush to do what he says. You watched as his eyes raked over your body hungrily, tugging your lip between your teeth with anticipation. You’re not sure when your common sense flew out the window, but fuck it, you wanted him and you wanted him bad.

“Don’t do that,” he growled, throwing his shirt off and diving down onto the bed with you. His kisses were desperate, a clashing of tongue and teeth that had your head spinning. Everywhere he touched felt scorched with flame. If he didn’t do something soon you were going to go crazy. “Touch me,” you breathed, urging his hand down to where you needed him most. You whined when he pulled his hand away. He was teasing you on purpose, slowly taking his time as he licked and marked every inch of your skin. You moaned when his teeth tugged at your nipple, heat spreading through your body as your hips ground into his.

“So needy, kitten,” he smirked from below you, sucking the skin along your hip bones in between his teeth as you squirmed beneath him. He slid his hand between your thighs, pushing them further apart as he hovered above your core. You groaned at the sight, so close to saying fuck your pride and begging him to just stop teasing already.

But just when you thought you couldn’t take it anymore his fingers parted your lips, his tongue lapping slowly as he tasted your wetness. When his plump hot lips pull your clit suddenly into his mouth your head rocked back against the bed, your hips bucking against his harsh sucks. You can feel your legs start to shake as he adds his tongue back into the mix, your loud moans unstoppable at this point. “You taste so fucking good, kitten.” His voice is practically purring with lust, his hands pushing your thighs down into the mattress to keep you from moving.

His words have you propping up on your elbows to watch as he devours you, the sight of his lips wet with your juices enough to have your eyes rolling in the back of your head once more. He licks his fingers, before quickly slamming them inside of you, his name passing from your lips in a curse. He wastes no time, quickly curling his fingers up and sucking on your clit once more. The feel of him pumping in and out of you mercilessly stretching your walls as he eats you desperately- had that white hot heat surging inside of you and begging to be released. You were so close already, but you didn’t want to come yet. You didn’t want this to be over.

“I know you need to come, kitten.” His breath hit your lips as he pumped his fingers even faster, filling the room with squelching sounds and your moans. “I want to watch you come for my mouth, come for me Y/n.”

You couldn’t hold it back any longer, your walls clenching tightly around his fingers as his tongue licked up and down your clit at a hard and fast pace. His name fell past your lips over and over like a prayer, your hands wound tightly in his hair as he watched you come undone beneath him.

He slid his fingers into his mouth once he had helped you through your high and licked them clean, his eyes never leaving yours as you tried to catch your breath. “I want you to remember this, kitten, remember how wet you were for me. You might not like me, but you definitely want me, there’s no doubt about that.”

“What the fuck are you doin’ here!” You ran towards your best friend at full speed, knowing he can take your impact easily.

“Chris! I missed you!” Your voice was muffled by the neck of his Cap suit.

Chris kissed your hair, holding it flat with his large palm. His arm was wrapped around your waist, keeping you lifted off the ground, and stuck in his arms.

“I missed you too, Honeypot.”

You had flown down to surprise Chris while he shot Civil War in Atlanta. He’d been moaning for months about how he was so bored and homesick that you decided to shut him up. For a little bit, at least.

Setting you back on Earth, he bared a grin when whilst holding you away from his body. He was looking for any change to your appearance since he’d last saw you, which was five months ago. A lot can happen in five months, and Chris was always so diligent in knowing every detail of your face and appearance. He could spot your hair cut an inch shorter, or you wore a new outfit. It was nice to have a best friend who took notice in the effort you put into looking presentable.

“Well, what are you fuckin’ doin’ here? When’d you get in?” Chris slung one arm over your shoulder and guided you towards the crafts table, where a selection of decorous food was lying.

“Lisa ringed me the other week beggin’ me to take spring vacation to come visit you! I guess I was the only one fit to shut up your whining and begging.” Chris chuckled and nodded in acknowledgment. He knew he had been on the, rather, complaining side in his tone for the last few months. He just missed his family so much. He missed seeing Miles, Lucy, and Noah. He missed not being able to go to his parent’s house on Thursdays for spaghetti dinner.

“Like always, she was right. You are the only human being beside her that could make me feel like I’m home with just your presence.”

You felt so much love for your best friend, and now you felt even more. He was so sweet and benevolent in nature. He’d been that way since the day you met him, 26 years ago. He was just a scrawny 9 years old, terrified to go down the slide on the playground. You were an adventurous 8-year-old and told Chris he could hold your hand while going down the slide together. He agreed and ever since then you two have held each other’s hands through the worst of times and the best of times.

“It can’t be! No way!” Booming from across the lot, you saw Mackie waving his hands frantically at you while jogging over. There had been a companion with him, a brunette you had only heard about before. The brunette didn’t join Mackie when he ran over to you, though. He just set foot in a slow pace walk, almost looking uneager to meet the mysterious best friend of Chris’.

Anthony pulled you into a big hug when he finally reached you and Chris, both pigging out at the table of goodies. “Big Mack! How goes it?”

He shrugged nonchalantly, “Not too bad. Livin’ good down in A.T.L., aren’t we Evans?”

“You are, Mr. Life of The Party.” Anthony gawked at Chris and slapped his shoulder. “Don’t try and pretend that you ain’t out at the clubs, talkin’ to the ladies, now. We don’t wanna be tellin’ lies to our friends now do we?” You giggled at shook your head, turning back towards the donuts.

You held a chocolate glazed one to your mouth when you heard an unfamiliar voice from behind.

“I wouldn’t if I were you. Those have been baking in the sun for a good fifteen hours.”

Sebastian had his blue eyes cast towards you, with a warm smile upon his lips. Chuckling nervously, you agreed and laid the donut back on the tray.

“Thank you. Wouldn’t have wanted to catch food poisoning my first day here.” Sebastian just broadened his grin that, swear to god, was twinkling in the sunlight. He stuck out his hand and you met him halfway.

“Sebastian.”

“Y/N. Chris’ best friend.”

Ever since that moment, you had been hooked to Sebastian Stan. Hopelessly, carelessly devoted to a man who didn’t even know you felt so much towards.

A/N: This is beautiful thank you for your request! I hope you like it! - marvel-avengers-world

Every morning Sam, Steve, and Bucky wake up early to jog outside together.

But today, Bucky wanted to run alone. After waking up from a nightmare he just needed some space and time to clear his head.

He was so caught up in his thoughts, that he didn’t notice how far and fast he ran.

Finally coming to a stop, he looked around and noticed that he could no longer see Steve or Sam anywhere.

He also noticed that he unconsciously ran to his favorite park. He sighed, already hearing Steve’s lecture that was sure to come.

“Well..I guess I should get back…” He thought out loud. He heard quiet footsteps before something tugged on his workout shirt, making him tense.

He whirled around expecting some guy with a gun, but instead there was a little girl, smiling softly at him.

“Hi…” She waved shyly.

He lowered his hands and looked at her in confusion. Why was she talking to him?

He turned his head, there was no sign of her parents. “Um, hi?” She giggled at his response and touched his metal arm, which he instinctively jerked back.

Normally people stare at his arm with wide frightened eyes. But she was looking at it like it was a toy. Like she admired it.

He really thought this had to be a trick.

He thought maybe Hydra was using a little girl to lure him back to them. She could be a spy. Or have superpowers, he thought .

“What are you doing out here alone?” He asked suspiciously. She giggled again and gave him a heartwarming smile. “I ran away from my babysitter.”

He was even more confused now. “Why did you run away?” She sighed and her smile slipped, “Alexa was being mean.”

Bucky felt his heart tug at her cuteness.

But the suspicion of her working for Hydra was still in the back of his head. So he kept his guard up.

“Who’s Alexa?”

The little girl, who Bucky guessed could be no older than 6, scowled. “Alexa’s my babysitter. But she’s a meanie! She left me alone at the playground, she was talking to a boy.” Bucky squated down next to the girl. He could tell she wasn’t lying, years of training taught him to know when anyone was lying.

“Whats your name?” He was gradually warming up to her now that he didn’t think she worked for Hydra.

“Sophie!”

Bucky smiled at her, he looked around again for her parents. But no one seemed to notice the two.

“Have your parents ever told you about talking to strangers?” Sophie nodded enthusiastically, a smile still on her face.

“Yeah, momma told me never talk to strangers.”

Bucky shook his head and laughed. “Then why are you talking to me?”

Sophie looked up at him with a wide smile.

“Because,” She took two steps towards him and hugged him. “You’re not a stranger.” Her little arms didn’t go all the way around his torso, letting Bucky escape her grip easily.

He was completely shocked at what Sophie said. He wasn’t a stranger to her? He began to think maybe she knew him from his time as the Winter soldier. But then again, why wasn’t she scared of him if she did?

“You know, you’re my favorite avenger!” She laughed again and went to pick up a flower that was growing nearby. Not seeming phased that he didn’t hug her back.

Bucky was over the moon, an innocent child saw him as her hero. Him.

He continued to talk with Sophie. They talked about many things, and Sophie told him all about her lousy babysitter. She was explaining all about how she loved the Avengers, and how her mom loved the Avengers too, when Bucky remembered that Sophie was currently missing.

Only he knew where she was.

“Hey, Sophie, why don’t we go to the Avengers Tower so I can try to find your mom. She’s probably worried.”

Her eyes went wide, “I can meet the Avengers?” She asked in disbelief.

“Sure kiddo.”

“YES!”

There was a loud rattle, causing Tony to look up from his new project. “Kid, put that down.” He said sternly.

Sophie stepped away sheepishly from one of the many Iron-man suits Tony designed. “Sorry, its just really cool!”

Tony smirk and smugly said “I know.” He looked back down at his new suit, fiddling with some of the wires before there was a loud crash that caused him to jump up.

“Sorry! Sorry, I’m so sorry!” On the floor was a dismantled suit, and a scared looking Sophie.

He shook his head and sighed, “F.R.I.D.A.Y. Tell Bucky to get his stray out of my lab would you?”

“Yes, Mr. Stark.” The woman’s monotone voice answered.

Sophie ducked underneath a lab table to hide. “Bucky won’t find me here!” She giggled causing Tony to smile.

“Nope. Barnes isn’t smart enough to find you there kid.”

Her giggle was cut short as the labs doors were opened.

“Alright Stark, where is she?”

Tony gave him a wicked grin, “Now that would ruin the game wouldn’t it Barnes?” With a wink he turned his attention back to his work.

“Fine.” Bucky huffed. He stilled his movements, using his advanced hearing to try and hear any noise. With a smug grin, he followed the sounds of Sophie’s breathing to her hiding place.

“Found you, sweetheart!” She squealed as Buck carried her out of the lab.

“Bye Iron man!”

She caught a glimpse of Tony giving her a two finger salute and a wink, before the doors slid shut. Bucky carried her all the way to the main kitchen, where Cap sat reading a book.

At the sight of the Captain, Sophie let out a huge squeal.

“Oh my gosh, its Steve!”

Steve calmly looked up with a grin, “Is this the Miss Sophie I’ve been hearing about?”

The girl scrambled out of Buckys arms and into Cap’s awaiting ones. “Woah! I feel so small!… So this I’d what happens when you eat your veggies…”

Steve chuckled at Sophies unfiltered mouth.

“You’re my third favorite superhero!”

Bucky beamed at Sophie and Steve teasingly asked her who her favorite is. Before she could answer, Buck cut in and smugly announced that it was him.

“So…who’s your second favorite if Buck is your first and I’m your third ?”

“Well…” She shyly stepped out of Steves embrace.

“Who is it sweetheart?” Bucky asked out of curiosity.

Just then Natasha entered the kitchen in her Black Widow suit.

“Hey James. Steve.”

“Hey Nat.” The boys nodded at her as she brushed past them to one of the cabinets.

Sophie squealed loudly causing all three adults to turn to her startled. “No way! Its Black Widow!!” Sophies eyes were as big as saucers, “All of my favorite heros are here!! Oh my gosh mommy is going to be so jealous!” Sophie bounced up and down looking between all of her heros.

Nat gave the boys a suspicious look.

“Did…Did Stark finally find his long lost kid?” Steve doubled over in laughter and Bucky clutched his stomach.

“No! Oh god, no!” Cap wiped tears of laughter from his eyes.

The boys filled in Natasha on who Sophie was, all the while the kid played with Bucky’s hair.

And Nat tried not to show it, but she was deeply touched that she was one of Sophies heros.

*•*•*••*•*

After barley three minutes, Natasha had all the information she could find on Sophie’s mom, Y/n.

Single mom of one child, steady job as an assistant for a famous actor, hired a babysitter for Sophie because Y/n would be at work during the day- Those were just a few things Natasha now knew.

“Okay Barnes, I’ve already contacted Sophie’s mom, Y/n, she should be here in 20 minutes or so.”

Bucky thanked the spy, and turned back to Sophie. “Hey, Sweetheart, your momma is gonna be here soon.” Sophie let out a little yay, before running over to Steve. “That means you’ll get to meet my mommy Stevie!!”

“I can’t wait!” Cap grinned enthusiastically.

Your daughter giggled, and climbed onto Bucky’s lap, continuing to braid his hair.

Natasha snickered quietly when she saw Bucky’s “new hairstyle”.

*•*•*• •*•*•*

As soon as Y/n got out of her car, she practically ran towards the doors of the Avengers tower.

Angrily muttering to herself all the way.

I knew something was wrong with Alexa. Glad I fired her, leaving my daughter by herself! All for a guy.”

Y/n brushed past secruity guards, who all looked at her questioningly. She ignore all stares sent her way, she was on a mission.

Getting her daughter back
.

There was a receptionist desk infront of two doors that looked heavily locked.

Y/n went up to the woman behind the counter, skipping past the whole line that was waiting. “Excuse me ma'am, but I’m here to find my daughter. She-”

With a glare the receptionist shook her head “Miss, you must wait in line like everyone else.”

I’m here to find my missing daughter! There is nothing more important!”

“Miss, if you don’t leave I’ll have to call secruity.”

Y/n was beyond angry. Her daughter was with people she didn’t know, and all that was standing in her way was a stubborn receptionist.

“Listen here lady,” Y/n leaned in close, her eyes in a deadly glare. “I was contacted by Natasha Romanoff, to pick up my daughter.” The receptionist looked at you in disbelief.

“Don’t believe me?” Y/n chuckled darkly, “Call Black widow, or Tony Stark. Any of the Avengers for all I care. But I want my daughter now.”

There was small murmurs thought the line, but Y/n’s eyes didn’t leave the lady behind the desk. Only when someone tapped on her shoulder did she turn.

“Hello Y/n, I’m Natahsa Romanoff. The one who contacted you on behalf of you’re daughter.” Nat looked at you with a blank stare. “If you would follow me, I can take you to Sophie.”

Y/n let her shoulders relax slightly, and nodded. Quickly following the famous Black Widow.

The two walked onto an elevator that automatically opened once Natasha said something about Friday opening the doors? Y/n couldn’t be too sure, she was to busy looking back at the receptionist with a smug smirk.

Once both of the ladies made it on the elevator, and the doors closed, Natasha dropped her hostile expression. “That was interesting to watch Y/n.”

“What was?”

Nat looked at you in amusement. “You staring down poor Claire. I thought she was going to have a heart attack.

Your mind was still set on finding your only child, so you didn’t feel any embarrassment at all. “Yeah well, no one’s going to keep my daughter from me.”

Nat nodded, a look of, sadness maybe? Crossed over her face.

Just then the doors opened, revealing a shocking sight.

There stood a smiling Steve Rogers, and a laughing Bucky Barnes. And on Bucky’s shoulders was your little girl, laughing.

“Soph?”

The child looked up with a smile. “Mommy!” Bucky put down Sophie, and the two of you raced to one another. You engulfed her in a bonecrushing hug while the others smiled at the reunion.

“Oh sweetie I missed you. I was so worried.” You kissed the top of her head, and smiled widely when she giggled.

“You didn’t have to worry mommy! I was with Bucky, Nat, and Stevie! Even Tony!” Sophie was radiating joy, and you finally relaxed, your daughter was safely back in your arms.

“I didn’t know Alexa was so mean to you I’m sorry honey. I told her she can’t be your babysitter any more.” Sophie still smiled, “It’s okay mommy.”

Y/n picked up Sophie and held her on her hip. Steve held out a hand, giving her a blindingly white smile. “Hello Ma'am. I’m Steve Rogers, pleasure to meet the mom of Sophie.” Y/n sheepishly shook his hand.

She finally realized how she acted when she was looking for Sophie and who she was in the same room with.

“Hi, you can call me Y/n. And thank you for helping watch over her.” Steve nodded and stepped back while Bucky stepped forward.

“Glad to meet you doll. I’m James Barnes, but you can call me Bucky.” A blush dusted Y/n’s cheeks. Bucky was in front of her. And he knew her name.

“Um, hi. Thank you. For uh, thank you for keeping Sophie safe. Natasha told me everything and I really appreciate it.”

Bucky grinned “It was no problem at all. Sophie was an angel. I’m happy to have meet such a wonderful little girl.”

Sophie laughed and wiggle doubt of your arms. She went over to Nat and started braiding the spy’s hair. Nat at first seemed startled but she quickly relaxed into the kids touch.

You watched as Sophie talked with Steve and Nat, and you smiled widely. Of course you know how happy she must be to meet her heros.

You were the one to talk so highly about all of the Avengers. Especially about Bucky, Nat, and Steve.

Telling her how much of a good person Natasha is, and ignoring all of the negative comments from others about the ex-red room assassin.

You were also the one to tell her all about Steve’s accomplishments. Making sure she looked up to Steve Rogers and not just Captain America. You told her about James Buchanan Barnes, a brave young soldier who went through a lot. How he was controlled by Hydra to do things he didn’t want to do. And how is actually a good person.

“You did well with her.” Buckys deep low voice drew you’re attention from the cute scene in front of you, to him.

He was standing beside you, looking at you with a look you couldn’t quite place.

“I did?” Bucky smiled and nodded. “She’s an amazing little girl.”

Y/n laughed. “Yes she is.” Bucky then looked down scratching the back of his head.

“Uh, she told me about how much her mom loves the Avengers.” Your cheeks burned red, hoping Sophie didn’t reveal to much.

“Oh?”

“Yeah, and I must say, I was surprised she wasn’t scared of me when she first meet me. But then, she told me all about how you taught her that I was a good person. That she shouldn’t listen to the news or gossip. And…its refreshing to know not everyone thinks I’m a monster.”

Your head quickly snapped towards Bucky, caught in the moment you lightly grabbed his hands.

“You are not a monster. People spread rumors all the time. And people are Adrian of what they cant control. But Bucky, never have you been a monster, you have always been a good person. And yeah, I made sure to let Sophie know the truth about all of the Avengers. I didn’t want my child to listen to lies the media drilled into peoples heads.” Bucky looked at you in awe.

He couldn’t understand how such a beautiful person inside and out could exist. He was speechless for a few seconds. Making you think maybe you stepped over a line.

You quickly released his hands and shifted from foot to foot. “Uh sorry, got a little carried away there.” You kept your gaze on Steve tickling Sophie while Nat checked her hair in a mirror.

You were about to get Sophie to leave and go home, but once you took one step Bucky stopped you.

“Theres nothing to be sorry about.” He held you in a hug, and looked down at you shyly.

“Would you? I mean, would you like to go on a date with me? Sometime? You don’t have to say yes if you don’t want to…” He looked like a schoolboy asking out his crush.

You were giddy, a wide smile swept over your face. “You know, I would love that.”

He grinned widely and held you tightly again. You both stood side by side, watching Sophie play tag with Steve, Buckys arm around your waist.

“How about tomorrow at 6? I think Steve will gladly watch over Sophie.” Bucky suggested, and you couldn’t stop smiling.

Nat then “accidentally” tripped Steve so Sophie could catch him. Their laughter ringing thought the living room.

“You got yourself a deal Mr. Barnes. I can’t wait.”
