this is the best interview of my life

anonymous asked:

I thought the same thing when I saw Jensen and Danneel's interview. There was no chemistry. I tried to rationalize it since they are being interviewed and maybe they're just reserved people but they're "husband and wife" and there was zero connection at least imo. Maybe they were just in a mood that day? Idk just grasping at straws here.

Anon.

Jensen and Danneel have no on camera chemistry. Which is why it’s in their best interest to avoid interviews or just being video recorded together in general. An analogy I like to and have always used regarding those two are/is that they remind me of two mannequins coming to life for the very first time.

They have literally never seemed like anything more than friends to me.

Jared and Gen are more believable, in my opinion, like when they are on stage together. Although anyone with common sense can tell something isn’t right there either lol.

Hi, I read that you've dealt with with impostor syndrome in the past, and I'm really struggling with that right now. I'm in a good place and my friends are going through a lot, and I'm struggling to justify my success to myself when such amazing people are unhappy. I was wondering if you have any tips to feel less like this and maybe be kinder to myself, but without hurting anyone around me. It's a big ask, I know, but any help would make my life a lot less stressful

The best help I can offer is to point you to Amy Cuddy’s book, Presence. She talks about Imposter Syndrome (and interviews me in it) and offers helpful insight.

The second best help might be in the form of an anecdote. Some years ago, I was lucky enough invited to a gathering of great and good people: artists and scientists, writers and discoverers of things. And I felt that at any moment they would realise that I didn’t qualify to be there, among these people who had really done things.

On my second or third night there, I was standing at the back of the hall, while a musical entertainment happened, and I started talking to a very nice, polite, elderly gentleman about several things, including our shared first name. And then he pointed to the hall of people, and said words to the effect of, “I just look at all these people, and I think, what the heck am I doing here? They’ve made amazing things. I just went where I was sent.”

And I said, “Yes. But you were the first man on the moon. I think that counts for something.”

And I felt a bit better. Because if Neil Armstrong felt like an imposter, maybe everyone did. Maybe there weren’t any grown-ups, only people who had worked hard and also got lucky and were slightly out of their depth, all of us doing the best job we could, which is all we can really hope for.

(There’s a wonderful photograph of the Three Neils even if one of us was a Neal at http://journal.neilgaiman.com/2012/08/neil-armstrong.html)

Autumn Inspired Prompts
  • You’re a vampire and I’m a witch, we both go to this private school in New England that has a small population of supernatural students. We meet because I need a vile of vampire venom for a potion and my demon best friend said you’re the person to talk to.
  • We go to a school for supernatural beings and you’re the cutest witch I’ve ever seen but you’re kind of intimidating.
  • I’m a fairy and my parents told me to never get myself involved with a witch but you’re so sweet and kind and not anything like I was told about witches.
  • We’re both from ancient supernatural families and our kinds hate each other but to end the centuries of fighting we are to be wed.
  • There our seven lines of ancient witches referred to as the Seven Devil, there are certain alliances amongst the families and certain feuds. One night a whole line is whipped out, they were an ally of my line an enemy of yours. You’re suspected of being apart of the killings but I can prove you’re innocence. The only problem is our lines are enemies as well and my family advises me not to because it’ll give our line more power. (Bonus: My line was actually behind whipping out the line because they were power hungry and framed your line)
  • I’m a witch and one night while I’m walking home I’m murdered by someone or something unknown. But a few day later I wake up in the morgue. I got my friend who says that I was saved due to vampire venom in my system, vampire venom in small amounts can slowly heal someone but they’ll appear dead until they’ve made a full recovery. I try to find the vampire who saved me and find you. You tell me you found me bleeding out, near death on the side of the road while you were walking into town so you bit me to save me. (Bonus: You help me find the person or thing that tried to kill me)
  • I’m a witch and there’s a witch hunter in town and he’s been following me around for the last few days. One day he corners me in the woods near town while I was collecting ingredients for a potion and tried to kill me but you come out of nowhere and save me by killing him. We make eye contact before you run into the woods. Who are you and why did you save me?
  • I’m a werewolf and have some serious anger issues and you’re a witch who makes theses amazing calming potions with lavender and every time I come in to buy some you me a free lavender candle and every time I light it I’m instantly calm and can’t stop thinking about you.
  • I just transferred to this private school and all the students talk about the werewolves who roam the forest that surrounds the school for miles, some are even rumored to attend the school. I don’t believe them because wolves are common in this area and werewolves obviously aren’t real. But then one night decide to go for a walk in the woods because it’s a full moon and there’s a light fog so how can I resist and I’m pretty damn sure the cute person from my history class just turned into a wolf, what the hell?
  • You and your friends are rumored to be descendants of supernatural beings and you’re pretty well liked by everyone but everyone’s also kind of afraid of you. Of course most people don’t believe in the supernatural, but I’ve seen somethings and I’m pretty sure not only are the rumors true but there’s way more to it.
  • Your a descendant from a famous alleged supernatural being and I’m doing a report on them and how it’s affected your family. You agreed to let me interview and after doing a lot of research I realize that you’re not a descendant of that person but are in fact that person who’s been alive after all these years.
  • We’re best friends, I’m a vampire and you’re a witch. Shenanigans ensue.
  • I’m a powerful ancient witch and you’re a vampire who I’ve loved for several centuries but you’re murdered by one of my enemies. I’m now consumed with finding a way to bring you back to life and back to me. I have never been a cruel witch but in this time I am ready to do anything and everything to get my way.

hype man hobi

as a kid I watched her all the time and she was like my biggest idol and I’d say I wanted to be Miley when I’d grow up and now my 13 years old self (I’m 21 now) would be so damn proud now to read this billboard interview, how she decided to give up drugs and smoking and take herself seriously and use her talent right. best of luck for her, so happy to see someone with good heart back on right track, you know what they say life is the climb but the view is great, there’s ups and downs, but you will always find your way back home, welcome back, Miles ;) xx

THE SPONGEBOB MUSICAL CAST APPRECIATION: ethan slater + danny skinner.

“we’re best friends on stage but we’re really best friends in real life now. i go to his house all the time and we watch football or we watch the spongebob movie and re-enact the lines together. i think there’s something to the way the characters have seeped into our lives and our relationship. he’s a blast.

  • McQueen’s crash was really fucking brutal like god damn they did such a good job with that scene like I know everyone is all “oh haha he dies” but sitting in the theater watching it happen you just feel paralyzed because holy shit. Anyways, major kudos to Pixar for making that probably my favorite scene in the whole movie because of the beautiful cinematography.
  • Jackson Storm!!! I thought I was gonna hate him, and I did he is a grade A jackass, but just oh man he’s just so fucking cool and sleek and the black and blue coloring is sooo good. Yes I hate him but also I love him.
  • The colors of all the new gen racers were so great!! They were all so sleek and shiny and cool looking and colorful!
  • At first I didn’t really like Cruz, she kinda bugged me in the overly happy kind of way, but that didn’t remain the case because OH MY GOD I’M SO PROUD OF MY DAUGHTER!!!
  • McQueen doing the warm up exercises to get Cruz to come with him was so great. McQueen is A+ dad material.
  • McQueen mentoring Cruz on the beach without even realizing he’s mentoring her gave me life.
  • The entire demolition derby.
  • I was honestly expecting the school bus to be a guy so I was absolutely ecstatic that it ended up being a girl!! Anyways, I love Miss Fritter she’s fantastic and amazing and so badass.
  • Fritter trying to straight up kill McQueen and then later while being interviewed being all exited and saying how she’s always liked McQueen was so cute.
  • “Racing wasn’t the best part of Doc’s life, you were.”
  • I can’t believe Doc Hudson is a gay icon.
  • I make a post about a week ago predicting that Cruz would race in McQueen’s place AND I WAS RIGHT, I WAS RIGHT, I WAS RIGHT!!!
  • McQueen up on the platform with the headset on coaching Cruz almost broke me I was flipping the fuck out oh my god he was the splitting image of Doc it was amazing.
  • Cruz doing the wall flip trick. I had a fucking conniption fit it was so good it was perfect it was, although a bit predicable, absolutely astounding.
  • Cruz took Doc’s number. So good. What a way to bring it full circle.

“Nobody’s going to do your life for you. You have to do it yourself, whether you’re rich or poor, out of money or raking it in, the beneficiary of ridiculous fortune or terrible injustice. And you have to do it no matter what is true. No matter what is hard. No matter what unjust, sad, sucky things befall you. Self-pity is a dead-end road. You make the choice to drive down it. It’s up to you to decide to stay parked there or to turn around and drive out. — Cheryl Strayed

Three days ago I watched this interview of Cheryl Strayed on “How To Become a Writer, The Power of Art and More” (this is the title if you want to watch it on YT) and it was truly amazing and inspiring!
This interview (done by Marie Forleo) put me into tears at a certain point, I don’t even have words to express how I felt after watching this discussion, it was extremely moving, inspiring and powerful! If you ever feel sad or just having a bad time, I highly recommend you to watch some of Cheryl Strayed’s interviews, because Cheryl’s words of wisdom is the best medicine ever!

Speaking about Cheryl, I today received 3 of her books! “Torch”, “Brave Enough” and “Advice on Love and Life from someone’s who has been there”. I can’t wait to finish my exams to read all of them!
Side note : Brave Enough is a book of quotes from Cheryl and what I am planning to do is not to read it in one sitting but read one quote every day!

“That was Carpool Karaoke with the lovely Y/N,” James Corden said to the camera before turning to face you.

You had spent a day with him driving around in LA having fun. Your first album was released two weeks ago and quickly rose to number one on the charts. You were relieved to hear the positive response from your old fans who only knew you from acting jobs, but also from your new fans. You could now proudly say you had successfully transitioned from acting to singing.

“Thank you so much for being here. I gotta say, I absolutely love your new album!” he praised.

“Thank you,” you smiled, “That means a lot and I can honestly say that was one of the funniest car rides in my entire life.”

You had been on The Late Late Show once before promoting a movie, and it was one the best interviews you have had. James was magnificent at making you feel comfortable, having other celebrities by your side helped, but his kind and hilarious personality made you feel right at ease.

James smiled, before talking about the songs.

“So, there are rumours that some of the songs are written about a special person,” James wiggled his eyebrows suggestively.

“Oh, no” you laughed dismissing it, ”there’s no one special in my life right now.”

“Well, if you need someone,” a voice butted in. Turning to your side, the other guest, Sebastian Stan was smirking in your direction pointing at himself.

“I mean, imagine having a song written about you and getting to say it’s the incredible Y/N who wrote it” he continued, “I could die happily.” He laid an arm on the back of the couch smiling cockily. You could feel the heat radiating from his body and if you leant back, his muscular arm would touch your back.

“What’s going on here?” James gestured confusedly but excitedly.

“Can I just say,” he turned to once again face you,” I feel like I’ve seen you all my life and you look so great,” his blue eyes gazed into yours and when he laid a hand on yours, small sparks of electricity ran through your body. You laughed at the attention trying to remember he was a great actor just flirting for the fun of it.

“You’re a joke. You’re actually going for it!”, James jumped in his seat,” You’re ridiculous. You’re actually going for it. I love it. I love it!”

“Why not,” Sebastian questioned,” when I have this incredibly gorgeous woman sitting next to me with a voice of an angel?”

You laughed in disbelief over how far he was willing to go but felt a warm fuzzy feeling spread inside.

“So, Sebastian you are originally from Romania, right?” James asked once the audience settled down.

“That’s true, yeah.”

“So obviously you are fluent in Romanian. How would one go about asking Y/N out?” You knew James kept this subject going as it would get more views but you kinda also didn’t want Sebastian to stop flirting.

Sebastian nodded in thought before moving closer and once again laying an arm behind you with one leg crossing the other.

“Ce Faci?"

Without thinking, you asked the first thing that popped into your head when James said Romania.

“Would you bite me in the neck?”

"Oh my God.” Disbelief showed on his face and the audience was silent for a moment. Then he swept in low and went for your neck as laughs filled the room. You pushed him away slightly giggling but his warm breath on your neck sent your mind into dark places.

“Don’t make me do it.” he raised his voice slightly pointing his finger before taking a sip of his water.

The audience was still in stitches as you tried to remedy the situation by clarifying what you meant. Dracula had his castle in Romania right?

“So, there really is no one special in your life right now?” James asked returning to the first question.

“No, there really isn’t,” you shook your head before placing a hand on Sebastian thick thigh, “but in the future, there might be?” You looked over at Sebastian and gave him a wink.

“Dear lord,” he ran a hand through his soft looking hair licking his lips, “You’re gonna be the death of me woman.” James grinned widely at the scene in front of him.

“Any chance of you going out with him Y/N?”

“I mean, I gotta say, he is pretty cute.” You retorted giving him a smile. Sebastian’s once cocky attitude disappeared and light pink dusted his cheeks as he felt onto the couch.

James laughed loudly at the change, “Oh, look at him!”

“You were so cocksure, and now you’re a blushing mess.” he stood up from his chair in excitement.

It was actually quite adorable how flustered he got from your words resorting to hiding his smiling face in his hand.

“And here you have it, ladies and gentlemen. The next power couple brought to you on The Late Late Show!” James yelled into the camera still grinning widely.

- - -

You said your goodbyes to James before leaving to your dressing room with one last glance at Sebastian who had been caught by a few adoring stagehands.

A small knock on your door brought you to your feet again. You set down the slice of pizza you had ordered to be here once the show finished. After almost tripping over the discarded shoes on the ground you made it to the door.

The same man who had made you feel butterflies and giggly stood outside your door awkwardly.

“Hi,” Sebastian spoke and you could almost feel the nervousness roll of him.

You responded giggling at the complete 180 degrees turn from cocky to shy.

“I” he paused muttering “I’m really doing this” under his breath before continuing.

“I just wanted to tell you I meant everything I said out there. I really think you are amazing and unbelievably gorgeous,” his stare on the ground lifted and you could see the nerves swimming in his deep blue orbs.

“I was just wondering if you would like to go on a date with me?” he bit his lip and ran a hand through his hair.

“You really got stop doing that,” you said breathlessly as more butterflies filled your stomach. His eyebrows furrowed in confusion not quite catching what you meant.

“Biting your lip and running your hand through your hair.” you clarified, “It makes me think and want to do things I shouldn’t.” This time his eyes widened at your confession and a sliver of lust showed.

“And yes, I would like to go out with you.” you grinned.

He sighed in relief and a smile spread on his beautiful face.

“I got pizza in here if you want to join?” you gestured inside and the twinkle in his eye was more than enough to account for his answer. You put out a hand and when his fingers intertwined with yours, feeling the same spark from before, you pulled him into your dressing room.

this is you.

You’re 18, and starting over is the hardest thing you’ve ever had to do. You thought that breathing wouldn’t be something you’d have to learn all over again, but it is. It’s like as soon as you stopped on that bathroom floor, even just for a few minutes–it’s like you forgot how. Every time you inhale, it’s a conscious decision. One that you’re barely sure that you want to make. It rattles painfully through you like your lungs have rusted over, broken-down gears in a machine that doesn’t work anymore. You don’t know if they can be fixed, if you even want them to be. You breathe anyway. You’re 18, and this hospital room is too cold, and a nurse gently asks you if you know why you’re here. You do. You’re here because when you were 10, you felt like you weren’t good enough, and when you were 15, you felt terrified, when you were 17, you felt overwhelmed, and when you were 18, you didn’t want to feel at all. You don’t say any of this to the nurse. You nod instead. She continues to talk, but you don’t pay attention, instead letting your eyes drift over to the newspaper on the table next to your bed, open to the sports section. You’ve read the headline a few hundred times by now. You read it again, just in case it’s changed. It hasn’t yet. Maybe next time. You’re 18, and as you settle back against your pillow, you think about what your mom said, about taking a break. No hockey for a while. You consider it, and you can’t decide if it would be more like cutting off a limb or removing a tumor. You think there’s only one way to find out. — You’re 19, and by now you’re used to how the parents look at you when they think you don’t see. It’s never exactly a look of contempt. More morbid curiosity, even fascination. Like you’re a zoo animal, something to be gawked at for a few hours each week and talked about briefly under their breath so the kids can’t hear. You don’t know what they’re trying to see. Do they think you’re hiding something? That you have a stash of blow in your duffel bag? That if they can catch you at just the right time, they’ll see you shooting up right there on the ice? Fuck them, you decide. You have a job to do here, and it’s a good job. The kids call you Coach Z, just Z, and they let you forget there’s any letters beyond that one. You help Eli with his speed and Julie with her accuracy, and you don’t look outside the rink. Whenever the kids win a game, they mob you afterwards, fight to get in closer to you, and it feels good. They either don’t know or don’t care. To them, you’re just Coach Z. For now, that’s all you want to be. — You’re 21, and it’s just your third game at Samwell when a massive D-man from Harvard slams into you from behind. A penalty is called immediately, but that doesn’t change the fact that you’re facedown on the ice, dazed, and your ribs ache like hell. As the D-man skates to the penalty box, you can hear the sneer in his voice. “Heard you liked snow more than ice, boy wonder.” Another coke joke. Original, you think dryly. There’s a medic skating toward you. You can get up on your own, but he insists on taking you back to the locker room to check out your ribs. As he’s finishing up (some bruises, but nothing broken), Shitty enters the locker room with a second medic. He’s walking gingerly. You ask him what happened. “I went for the guy that went for you. Didn’t work out great for me,” he says, sitting next to you on the bench with a wince. You stare at him, temporarily dumbfounded. You ask why. He’s your teammate, he tells you. And your friend. Right? You look at him, this skinny younger kid with shaggy hair and a mustache half-grown in and ribs quickly becoming an abstract painting in shades of purple, and you realize he’s probably the closest thing to a friend you’ve got. You hold out a fist, and he bumps it gently. “Got your back, brother,” Shitty says. Yeah. Got your back. — You’re 23, and you have a problem. More precisely, a short, blond problem. With a penchant for baking. It’s not that Bitty’s not talented. He’s fast, and he’s got good hands. But if he can’t take a check on the ice, he’s never going to be a good player. You like solving problems. So that’s why you thought this was a good idea. But now, as you stare down at Bitty, who’s curled up on the ice, trembling, sweat sticking his hair to his forehead, you start to have some doubts. The thing is, you recognize that look in his eyes. That fear. You’ve been there before. And you don’t want to leave anyone there, not if you can help it. So you set your mouth into a firm line and order him to get up. You check him, just softly and slowly so he won’t be so scared. And you do it again. And again. And again. By the end of practice, he’s still shaking. But he’s not curled up on the ice any more. You decide that’s enough of a win for today. You learned to embrace little victories years ago. — You’re 24, and you’re outside your new apartment, and you already miss them so much it hurts. You don’t remember what it’ll be like again tomorrow, waking up without Shitty just a bathroom away. You can’t imagine coming home and not finding Holster on your couch, yelling about…Buffy, or Liz Lemon, or whoever is the star of whatever he’s watching. You can’t think of coming home and not having the kitchen table smell like Ransom’s highlighters, or hearing Dex and Nursey argue a room away, or hear Chowder’s workout playlists blasting from the basement. But you have to, don’t you? You have to unlock this door, sit on the nice new furniture you picked out with your mom, open your fridge that won’t be full of mold and too many bottles of Sriracha. And in the morning you’ll have to drive yourself down to the rink, shake hands with the administrative team, meet a few of the guys. And though your team–you can’t stop thinking of them as your team, even if your last game together was months ago–isn’t here, you know that they’re on your side. Especially Bitty. You’re still scared about…this, this thing you have with him. Not of how you feel. You’re sure of that. But of fucking it up. Because you know, deep down, he is one of the best things that’s happened to you in a long time. It’s a risk. But you figured out ages ago that some risks are worth taking. — You’re 27, and you’re tired of hiding. Really, if they ask you later why you did it, that’s what you’ll say. It’s mental exhaustion more than anything that makes you let it slip. You’re just tired–tired of having to hold back truths and substitute incorrect pronouns–and when you mention offhandedly in a post-loss interview that you just want to go home to see your boyfriend, well. That’s it. You’re just tired. For a moment, all five reporters are silent, then they start buzzing like wasps, interrogating you, demanding you tell them the things they shouldn’t have the right to know about anyway. You refuse to go into detail. The assistant managers will probably be pissed, but you think George will get it. She’s known for so long. You go home, and you see your boyfriend, and neither of you turns on the TV. You know it won’t exactly be smooth sailing ahead. There’ll be press conferences, and interviews, and even more scrutiny, and a whole farm’s worth of assorted bullshit. But when you’re holding him that night, you don’t doubt that it’s worth it. Because you’re 27, and you’re too in love to care. And soon enough, you’ll be more. You’ll be 28, 35, 67. Married, a father, a grandpapa. And your life will be messy, and joyful, and so goddamn worth it. You’re going to be glad you decided to keep breathing. You’re you, and starting over is the best thing you ever had to do.
