House Arryn of the Eyrie is one of the Great Houses of Westeros. It has ruled over the Vale of Arryn for millennia, originally as the Kings of Mountain and Vale and more recently as Lords Paramount of the Vale and Wardens of the East under the Targaryen kings and Baratheon-Lannister kings. The nominal head of House Arryn is Robin Arryn, the Lord of the Eyrie, with his stepfather Petyr Baelish acting as Lord Protector until he reaches the age of majority. Their lands are in the central-eastern region of the continent. Their seat is the Eyrie, ancestral seat of the Mountain Kings. House Arryn’s sigil is a white crescent moon and falcon on a blue field. Their house words are “As High as Honor.”

ASOIAF Houses

Infuse your life with action. Don’t wait for it to happen. Make it happen. Make your own future. Make your own hope. Make your own love. And whatever your beliefs, honor your creator, not by passively waiting for grace to come down from upon high, but by doing what you can to make grace happen… yourself, right now, right down here on Earth.

Best of Fandometrics: SDCC Edition

Fandometrics launched in January 2015 and celebrates entertainment fandoms every week. SDCC celebrates fandom every July. Looking back at the last 129 weeks of data, we found a metric ton of overlap between what’s on the lists and what’s at the show. We pored over 387 unique TV, Movies, and Celebrities lists to bring you this Best of Fandometrics: SDCC edition.

Supernatural

Supernatural was in its 10th season the year Fandometrics launched. Tumblr had already become a home base for the show’s fans, and boy, are they passionate. SPN fans having a reaction GIF for everything has become a meme in its own right. One of the most popular reblog chains of all time is this thread about Dean in gym shorts.

The show dominates any list it can. It’s been ranked number one in our Year in Review’s Live Action TV list four years in a row and has been on every single weekly TV list since it launched.

The actors of SPN have just as much influence in our Celebs list. Jensen Ackles has appeared on a whopping 128/129 lists. Misha Collins (@mishacollins) has been on 96 and Jared Padalecki on 63.

Doctor Who

Supernatural may be in the midst of a long run, but it’s no match for the longevity of Doctor Who. The show started in 1963, and has appeared on 104 out of 129 TV lists.

According to Union Metrics, the November 23rd, 2013 episode “The Day of the Doctor” saw some of the highest engagement for a single episode of television. 1 million people shared 5 million posts that day.

Peter Capaldi is the Doctor with the most Celebs list appearances (5/129), but David Tennant comes in a close second (4/129). Jenna Coleman is the only companion to appear on the lists (2/129). Alex Kingston, who portrays the Doctor’s wife, River Song, appeared once on December 28th, 2015, following her storyline in that year’s Christmas episode. The newest Doctor, Jodie Whittaker, has appeared on the Celebs list every single week since her residency was announced: one week. We’re sure she’ll continue batting that high average.

Marvel Cinematic Universe

MCU films are so prevalent on the Movies list we took a look at them holistically. Captain America: Civil War has appeared the most (45/129). This is followed by Thor (44/129), Captain America: The Winter Soldier (42/129) and Iron Man (35/129). The absolute most talked about movie on Tumblr has been made by Marvel 46 out of 129 weeks.

And the MCU superstars? Chris Evans has appeared on the Celebs list the most—all 129 of them. He’s followed closely by Tom Hiddleston (127/129) and Sebastian Stan (107/129).

Honorable Mentions

Tumblr TV fandoms are huge. They’re loyal. It’s no surprise that so many other titles that have appeared multiple times over the past 29 months. Here are just a few highlights:

  • Animated series Steven Universe is the only other show to appear on all 129 TV lists.
  • Another long-running series, Once Upon a Time, has appeared 108 times on the TV list.
  • And finally, Sherlock. The last of the famed Superwholock trifecta, made it on 97 TV lists. An impressive number considering their short seasons and long hiatuses.

Public School Is A Goddamn Disater, Part 2: The Lovecraftian Madness of Machismo

Part 1 here, AKA: the Mantisocalypse (you don;t have to read it to understand this one, but you should anyway)

Content Warnings: Mental Illness, Attempted Murder, Sexual Content, Stalking, Abuse, Animal Abuse Mention, Emetophobia, US Public Education, Military Industrial Complex.  I’ve been told this is my most disturbing story, even if it’s hilarious, so mind your health.  All the names in this story have been changed to protect the innocent and Not-So-Innocent.

This is the story of Recruiting Sergeant Scott VS. The Lacrosse Jocks VS. Yours truly.

To understand this story, you must understand the dystopian hellscape that is US Public High School- I went to the NICE high school in town, with the AP curriculum and new building, where the the kids were generally too obsessed with getting into the ivy league to do anything worse than occasionally smoke on the roof.  Not even weed, just regular cigs.  During their off-periods, so they’d have time to febreeze their clothes and arrive to their next class early.  You know, the most boring fucking kids ever.

AND STILL, we were subjected to the various scourges of US public ed, namely-

-on-campus police officers and regular “what to do in case of a columbine event” drill.  We had Officer Munoz, who was a wonderful Latina Woman with the good sense to focus her efforts on getting kids away from abusive parents rather than persecuting brown kids, but we were VERY lucky on that front.  Still, having someone walking around with a gun and technically the authority to kill you, and having to hide in the science cabinets three times a year fucks you up.  Remember Officer Munoz though, She is Important.

- A weird, cult-like, frankly masturbatory attitude regarding athletic achievement.  The arts and sciences were stuck doing bake sales for supplies while the gym got re-done two years after the school opened.  This was tempered in an odd way at my school in that literally all the sports teams unequivocally sucked, with the exception of

1.Marching Band, which went to nationals twice in the first two years the school was open

2.Knowledge Bowl, where kevin and I took the team to 3rd in state in our first year, and only lost because Kevin had an asthma attack so we decided to let the other teams fight over the ‘lesser’ medals

3.Lacrosse, which didn’t actually didn’t GO anywhere, but was a “real” sport and beat our ‘rival’ school, so the team got to be Big Men On Campus, and get away with all kinds of nonsense like eating in class when everyone else was forbidden or skipping tests for ‘practice’.  The three worst offenders were Dustin, Jack and “Rattlesnake Pete”, all of whom were budding neo-nazis and thus signed up for German.  With our Jewish teacher.  Remember them too.

-On-campus military recruiters.  As in, people who are legally allowed to exaggerate, manipulate and actually lie to minors to convince them to join the armed forces.  Ours was Sergeant Scott, and as much of a skeevy rat as he was I honestly felt bad for him, because remember, academic magnet high school so he had three kinds of kids to work with:

  • Kids who made the physical standards for the armed forces and were all about honoring their country via physical labor, but were dumb as shit and couldn’t pass the written exam.
  • Kids who could pass the written exam and were totally ready to bully some people in the third world, but couldn’t do a pull up if you covered the gym floor in cobras.
  • Kids who passed the physical and mental portions but were uniformly rabidly anti-military industrial complex, to the point where 35 of them crammed into his cubicle in the office he shared with Officer Munoz and Janitor Wendy, so they could hold a sit-in protest of the Iraq war and chant “Impeach Bush” and “War is Murder” at him  Someone chucked red paint on him, because they’re furious immature teenagers.  It was his first day.

Poor bastard.  Remember Him as well.

Solar System: Things to Know This Week

Jupiter, we’ve got quite the photoshoot planned for you. Today, our Juno spacecraft is flying directly over the Great Red Spot, kicking off the first-ever close-up study of this iconic storm and passing by at an altitude of only 5,600 miles (9,000 kilometers). In honor of this historic event, below are 10 things to know about the planet’s most famous feature.

1. A Storm That Puts Others to Shame

The Great Red Spot is a gigantic, high-pressure, ancient storm at Jupiter’s southern hemisphere that’s one of the longest lasting in the solar system. It’s so large, about 1.3 Earths could fit inside of it. And you can bet you’ll get swept away—the storm’s tumultuous winds peak at about 400 mph.

2. How Old Is It?

The Great Red Spot has been swirling wildly over Jupiter’s skies for the past 150 years—maybe even much longer. While people saw a big spot on Jupiter when they started stargazing through telescopes in the 1600s, it’s still unclear whether they were looking at a different storm. Today, scientists know the Great Red Spot has been there for a while, but they still struggle to learn what causes its swirl of reddish hues.

3. Time for That Close-Up

Juno will fly over the Great Red Spot about 12 minutes after the spacecraft makes the closest approach to Jupiter of its current orbit at 6:55 p.m. on July 10, PDT (9:55 p.m. on July 10, EDT; 1:55 a.m. on July 11, Universal Time). Juno entered orbit around Jupiter on July 4, 2016.

4. Oh, So Mysterious

Understanding the Great Red Spot is not easy, and it’s mostly Jupiter’s fault. The planet a thousand times as big as Earth and consists mostly of gas. A liquid ocean of hydrogen surrounds its core, and the atmosphere consists mostly of hydrogen and helium. That translates into no solid ground (like we have on Earth) to weaken storms. Also, Jupiter’s clouds make it hard to gather clear observations of its lower atmosphere.

This false-color image of Jupiter was taken on May 18, 2017, with a mid-infrared filter centered at a wavelength of 8.8 microns, at the Subaru Telescope in Hawaii, in collaboration with observations of Jupiter by NASA’s Juno mission. Credit: NAOJ/NASA/JPL-Caltech

5. Help From Hawaii

To assist Juno’s investigation of the giant planet’s atmosphere, Earth-based telescopes lent their helpful eyes. On May 18, 2017, the Gemini North telescope and the Subaru Telescope—both located on Hawaii’s Mauna Kea peak—simultaneously examined Jupiter in very high resolutions at different wavelengths. These latest observations helped provide information about the Great Red Spot’s atmospheric dynamics at different depths and at other regions of Jupiter.

6. Curious Observations

Observations from Subaru showed the Great Red Spot “had a cold and cloudy interior increasing toward its center, with a periphery that was warmer and clearer,” said Juno science team member Glenn Orton of our Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Pasadena, California. “A region to its northwest was unusually turbulent and chaotic, with bands that were cold and cloudy, alternating with bands that were warm and clear.”

This composite, false-color infrared image of Jupiter reveals haze particles over a range of altitudes, as seen in reflected sunlight. 7. Hot in Here

Scientists were stumped by a particular question: Why were the temperatures in Jupiter’s upper atmosphere comparable to those found at Earth, even though Jupiter is more than five times the distance from the sun? If the sun isn’t the heat source, then what is? Turns out, the storm in the Great Red Spot produces two kinds of turbulent energy waves that collide and heat the upper atmosphere. Gravity waves are much like how a guitar string moves when plucked, while acoustic waves are compressions of the air (sound waves). Heating in the upper atmosphere 500 miles (800 kilometers) above the Great Red Spot is thought to be caused by a combination of these two wave types “crashing,” like ocean waves on a beach.

8. Color Theory

Scientists don’t know exactly how the Great Red Spot’s rich colors formed. Studies predict Jupiter’s upper atmosphere has clouds consisting of ammonia, ammonium hydrosulfide, and water, but it’s still unclear how or even whether these chemicals react. “We’re talking about something that only makes up a really tiny portion of the atmosphere,” said Amy Simon, an expert in planetary atmospheres at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland. “That’s what makes it so hard to figure out exactly what makes the colors that we see.” Over at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California, researchers concluded that the ruddy color is likely a product of simple chemicals being broken apart by sunlight in the planet’s upper atmosphere. “Our models suggest most of the Great Red Spot is actually pretty bland in color, beneath the upper cloud layer of reddish material,” said Kevin Baines, a Cassini scientist at JPL.

9. Been There, Haven’t Seen That

In January and February 1979, NASA’s Voyager 1 spacecraft zoomed toward Jupiter, capturing images of the Great Red Spot during its approach. Still, we’ve never been as close as we’re about to get during Juno’s flyover on July 10.

10. Simply Beautiful

This image of a crescent Jupiter and the iconic Great Red Spot was created by a citizen scientist, Roman Tkachenko, using data from Juno’s JunoCam instrument. JunoCam’s raw images are available here for the public to peruse and enhance.Want to learn more? Read our full list of the 10 things to know this week about the solar system HERE.

Starfinder: The Classes [COMPLETE EDITION!]

Meet the new guardians of the galaxy.

In Starfinder, the average adventurer looks much different from average party on old Golarion. Understandings have shifted, old disciplines have faded out of vogue, and everyone has friggin’ laser beams.

So while it’s possible to convert some of the old Pathfinder classes, the bulk of adventurers in the Pact Worlds will likely adhere to one of these six new disciplines. Check it!

Envoy

Envoy is Starfinder’s intrigue and tactics focused class. They possess the most skills out of any class (tied only with the Operative) and their Skill Expertise feature allows them to specialize in certain favored skills; granting them an extra 1d6 insight bonus, and allowing them to perform acts that skill doesn’t usually grant. For those of you familiar with Pathfinder, think of it as a cross between an Investigator’s inspiration feature and the skill unlocks of an Unchained Rogue.

Their main class features are Improvisations; non-magical abilities which allow the Envoy to manipulate the battlefield; they can make enemies Flat Footed, warn allies of impending dangers, or even grant their friends additional actions in a turn.

Play the Envoy if you…

  • Want to be a social butterfly.
  • Enjoy using unexpected tactics both on and off the battlefield.
  • Want to be the undisputed master of a narrow set of skills (without sacrificing other proficiencies).

Mechanic

Mechanics are masters of machines. Unlike the more academic Technomancers, Mechanics aren’t afraid to get their hands dirty working with the futuristic technology of the Pact Worlds. Some even go so far as to augment themselves with advanced cybernetics!

A Mechanic’s best friend is their trusty artificial intelligence; a digital construct they personally designed. At first level, the Mechanic can choose between implanting this AI into a drone (granting them an autonomous robotic ally who can fight alongside them) or into an implanted exo-cortex (augmenting the Mechanic’s cognitive abilities and allowing them access to stronger armor and weapons). As the Mechanic levels up, they can augment their AI (or themselves!) even further. A high level Mechanic can even split their attention between a drone and an exocortex, becoming a cybernetically augmented mastermind with a personal robot honor guard.

When they aren’t trying to turn themselves into the singularity (or just make a really sweet robot), Mechanics are masters of technology in all forms; they’re master hackers, brilliant engineers, and can make that ray gun work really well in a pinch.

Play the Mechanic if you…

  • Want to play a pet-focused class.
  • Don’t want to play a pet-focused class, but would love to play a heavily armored ranged combatant with a wide array of skills.
  • Want to be a master of technology in all its forms.
  • Want your character to be more machine than person.

Mystic

Mystics are the spiritual successors of Golarion’s divine and occult spellcasters, and often fill similar societal roles. Understanding magic to be a manifestation of the connection between all living things, the Mystic channels the fundemental nature of the universe to a variety of effects.

Mystics are one of Starfinder’s two spellcasting classes, viewing the fundamental forces of magic through a more esoteric and philosophical lens than their Technomancer colleagues. Their spells tend to be focused more on living things; affecting both the mind and body. Of course, this doesn’t mean they can’t draw upon natural forces as well; Mystics are more than capable of flooding a room with gamma radiation if they feel like it.

All Mystics can establish a link with other creatures, which manifests first as a healing touch, and then eventually evolves into a party-wide telepathic network you can use as a conduit for their other abilities.

Mystics also all have a connection to a force they see as the source of their power; they may choose to be an akashic, empath, healer, mindbreaker, overlord, or star shaman, with each connection changing the lens through which a Mystic views the universe. An Akashic may view their powers as coming from the divine records that govern reality, while a Star Shaman may take a more religious viewpoint. Healers focus on restoring the vitality of their allies, while Mindbreakers focus on crushing the psyches of their foes.

Play a Mystic if you…

  • Want to play a support focused character with strong healing potential.
  • Want to be a psychic or similar character.
  • Want to play a more magical character with minimal scientific influence.
  • Love enchantment spells like charm person.
  • Want to have a connection with natural forces.
  • Want to define your own supernatural tradition (in SPACE).

Operative

Operatives live on the fringe of society. More than just simple thieves and assassins, the Operative represents any sort of character willing to utilize underhanded tactics and dogged determination to get the job done.

Every Operative chooses a specialization (daredevil, detective, explorer, ghost, hacker, spy, or thief) which grants them access to unique exploits; similar to the talents of a Rogue or Vigilante in Pathfinder.

Their most unique ability, however, is the trick attack. Unlike the Rogue, an Operative has need to hide in the shadows to surprise their enemies. Instead, they use a skill (usually Bluff, Intimidate, or Stealth, but some specializations can use other skills) to gain an advantage over their enemies; allowing them to deal extra damage and inflict a variety of detrimental effects on their foes. Operatives are also one of the only classes capable of becoming snipers, granting them additional combat options.

Like the Envoy, an Operative is a master of skills. Unlike the Envoy, they lack the same level of focus; the Operative’s edge class feature grants them a bonus to all skill checks (and initiative checks) and they can gain special bonuses to skills in which they’ve taken the Skill Focus feat for. Of course, Operative specializations can grant uses for skills that an Envoy could never hope to accomplish, so perhaps its all relative.

Play an Operative if…

  • You want to play a character on the fringe of society, like a spy, vigilante, or assassin.
  • You want to be the ultimate skill monkey.
  • You enjoy stealth and subterfuge (or dashing derring do)
  • You love the massive payoff from a perfectly set up attack.

Solarian

Solarians believe in the power of the stars; that they are the ultimate expression of the powers of creation and destruction. They guide worlds with their gravity and give life with their light and heat, yet can also obliterate with supernovas and black holes. Solarians seek to be agents of this cycle of preservation and annihilation, channeling the forces of their stars themselves in battle.

All Solarians have a mote of fundamental energy or entropy that accompanies them, which can either transform into a lightsaber Solar Weapon, or augment the Solarian’s armor.

In battle, Solarians are one of the few classes who specializes in melee combat (indeed, while they gain access to Advanced Melee Weapons, they lack proficiency in any ranged weapon more complicated than a blaster pistol). To make up for this, Solarians are capable of making more melee attacks than other classes (three in a round, rather than the normal maximum of two) and can utilize the power of the stars for a variety of spectacular at-will effects.

Solarians can choose to attune themselves to either Photon or Graviton energy; each of their powers is connected to one of these two energies, and as they build up their attunement these powers grow stronger. After spending three rounds attuned exclusively to a single type of energy, the Solarian can activate a spectacular manifestation of cosmic force known as a zenith power. Even at level one, a fully attuned Solarian can explode in a miniature supernova, or draw distant enemies closer to them with the power of a black hole. These powers only grow stronger as the Solarian’s experience and understanding of the cosmic balance grows.

Play a Solarian if you…

  • Want to play a knight attuned to the cosmic forces of the universe.
  • Want to be a melee focused combatant with a variety of at-will effects that can shift the battlefield.
  • Want to wield the very power of the cosmos themselves.
  • Enjoy characters with a more philosophical bent.

Soldier

If the Solarian is a master of melee combat, the Soldier is a master of combat, period. Heavily armored, proficient in every kind of weapon, and trained in the culmination of thousands of years of tactics, the Soldier’s skill in a fight is unparalleled. Not only do they have access to more combat options than nearly anyone else.

All Soldiers specialize in a combat style to specialize in (arcane assailant, armor storm, blitz, bombard, guard, hit-and-run, and sharpshoot), and can pick up a second fighting style at level 9. In addition, they can pick up gear boosts that increase the effectiveness of their equipment, representing the modifications they’ve made to their favored combat kits. It doesn’t matter if it’s magic or technology; if it can give a Soldier an edge in combat, they’re willing to give it a shot.

Of course, they wouldn’t be the main combatants of Starfinder if they didn’t have access to bonus Combat Feats. Unlike in Pathfinder, combat feats in Starfinder are far more streamlined (requiring at most one other feat and some BAB and ability score requirements to access). This allows Soldiers to gain access to advanced combat options quickly and easily; for instance, a second level soldier could gain Weapon Focus with every single weapon they are proficient in (which is to say, all of them) with only a two feat investment. And since Weapons in Starfinder are capable of a wide variety of effects (including creating beams, cones, and bursts that would make a Wizard jealous), a Soldier can prove to be one of the most versatile and effective combatants in the game.

Play a Soldier if you…

  • Want to be a bad-ass power-armored space marine.
  • Want to be a melee combatant but don’t like all that weird cosmic stuff.
  • Want to modify your weapons and armor to fit your combat style.
  • Want to combine magic, technology, and martial prowess.
  • Want to be able to use almost any weapon you can pick up.
  • Want to have a jetpack. Anyone can have a jetpack, but you’re the best at jetpacks.
  • Want to take a variety of combat feats while still having slots left over.

Technomancer

In the Pact Worlds, Magic and Science are effectively the same thing; a fundamental set of rules that governs reality. While Mystics and Solarians focus on the esoteric connections between things, a Technomancer’s approach to magic is much more practical. Using a combination of the scientific method, advanced technology, and a bit of old-fashioned wizardry, Technomancers can hack into the very fabric of the universe to achieve a variety of effects.

Unlike the Mystic (who is more focused on connections between nature and living things) a Technomancer’s spells are more focused on interfacing with technology, or fiddling with the laws of physics. They can conjure small technological devices, hit things with logic bombs, bend light to create illusions, and drop fireballs like no one’s business.

What makes the Technomancer unique is their approach to magic; by viewing it as a scientific force, they can break the rules of magic as they’ve been known in the universe since the days of ancient Golarion. They have access to a spell cache, which starts out as a way to bypass the need for a spell slot, and can eventually be used to keep certain spell effects running for 24 hours. They can also fuse lower level spell slots together to achieve higher level effects; the most powerful Technomancers can even fuse two of their 6th level spell slots to cast 9th Level spells like the fabled wish.

Technomancers also have access to Spell Hacks, special abilities focused on manipulating magic, technology, or both. Fueled by spell slots, these magic hacks can modify how your spells and equipment function. You can drain the battery from your weapon to power up a spell, modify how a spell functions, force technology to do things that shouldn’t even be possible, or even fabricate equipment from nothing.

Play a Technomancer if you…

  • Want to play a dedicated spellcaster.
  • Like your magic with a healthy side of science.
  • Want to blend both magic and technology into a single discipline.
  • Are willing to mess with your class resources to achieve an optimal effect.

Philando Castile’s classmates give out the first scholarship in his honor, one year after his death

  • Minnesota’s Twin Cities marked one year since the police shooting death of Philando Castile at a ceremony on Wednesday, where some of his former high school classmates awarded the first scholarship in his honor.
  • The group of alumni, who graduated with Castile in 2001 from Central High School in St. Paul, Minnesota, gave out the inaugural Philando Castile Memorial Scholarship of $5,000. (Minnesota Public Radio)
  • The scholarship went to 2017 Central High graduate Marques Watson, who plans to attend St. Paul College, where he will study mechanical engineering for two years. Watson told MPR he would transfer to a four-year school after earning an associate degree.
  • “Before I received this scholarship, I had no way … at all, that I was going to be able to help myself, and my family really has no money to help me,” Watson said, according to MPR. Read more (7/6/17)

Imum Coeli (IC)

The  Imum Coeli (IC) is always the polar opposite sign of your Midheaven (MC). While the MC covers your career and external path the IC  has connections to family, past, and even family karma.

Aries IC: Growing up has become separated from the family somehow, not necessarily physically or emotionally. Independent, different views. The past is filled with times of loneliness and/or aggression somehow. Karma has ties to standing out in the family. The past is usually not visited a lot. Anger, conflict, passion, or times of excitement are remembered most.

Taurus IC: Likely center of family somehow, probably the glue that holds everyone together. The family’s rock.  Karma revolves around bringing stability and routine back to the family or receiving stability and safety that was lacking. Past is easy to remember, proof of memories, sentimental items, clarity, but also possibly scars, broken walls, torn papers.

Gemini IC: Always the communicative family member, always knows what’s going on, nurtures and shares beliefs. Past can have a lack of communication, a lack of people to talk to/who will listen, and detachment. Is pushed by karma to connect family members, to be the messenger, to have an open mind when it comes to family. The past and memories are tied in communication, ideas, and information family members are attentive of and push forward.

Cancer IC: The karmic family ties are STRONG here. Might have to learn how to let go or there to teach the family to let go. The past is filled with hardcore family attachment but also withdrawal from nurture.Clings to family members, traditions, and views. Karma pushes them to reflect on family a lot, might be the most introspective and perceptive family member. Karma might make them the protector of their family. Can still feel the vibration of family traumas even if it was generations ago. Memories and the past are part of their being. Emotions are always tied to memories. They interpret memories via emotions.

Leo IC: The golden boy or girl of the family, rarely disappoints the family but also fears disappointing them. There are themes surrounding pride in the past, good or bad. Karma gives them an abundance of attention and self-esteem. Shines in the family, maybe restores honor, fame, or general pride in the family. Others in the family always remember them. Their memories are tied to ego and actually security somehow.

Virgo IC: Being overly protected, attempting to meet high standards, maybe extreme innocence, and worry/anxiety is tied to their past. Karma pushes them to bring order, routine, practicality, and self improvement to family members. They are the family critics but also helpers. They never forget or miss any detail from their past and present. Karma could push them to help family members in the physical world like take care of the sick, tidy up, financially support, etc.

Libra IC: Karma pushes them to bring harmony and peace to the family. They help members reconnect. Suppression of individuality, pressure to please others, and lack of training to deal with tension/conflict can be seen in the past.  The past is known to them mentally, intellectually but they can hide their feelings of the past for their own protection/fear.

Scorpio IC: Lots of mystery when it comes to this persons past. Maybe adoption, family members have many of their own secrets, or trauma. Karma pushes them to discover family secrets, to contain the family of its troubles, and to push family past long-standing pain. Can still feel the vibration of family traumas even if it was generations ago. Memories are tied to passion and emotions. They remember what they felt more than the events.

Sagittarius IC: Karma pushes them towards freedom and independence that was lacked in the family somewhere. The past is filled with control or a push to make them find inner security via independence and vitality. Their past can contain intense family beliefs, traveling, and judgment, either tolerant and open or closed and intolerant. Revisiting memories and regret is not common for them. They have their experiences and then move on.

Capricorn IC:  Family expects a lot out of them, past is filled with responsibilities, seriousness, maybe pessimism, and they grew up too fast. Karma gives them security and control of themselves and within the family. They can develop to be the family’s rock. They can regain the family’s authority. Memories tend to be painted in melancholy or over-practicality. They don’t like to share memories but keeps them like a picture in a wallet.

Aquarius IC:  There is karma surrounding being the family outcast/black sheep. They have a unconventional family and views of family. Karma pushes them 2 ways, to detach themselves from family for their own growth or learn to be apart of it in their own way. Can be forgetful of memories, they are stored in a mental library to only be visited if forced to or for practical means.

Pisces IC: Past has many illusions. Could have been mislead, highly sheltered, or manipulated by family. Engulfed in family’s emotions and history. Memories can get lost in emotional translation or trapped in subconscious. Has a hard time separating self from family. Karma pushes them to heal many different types of long-standing family wounds. Despite healing influences karma pushes on them strongly to find their own destiny away from family, likely healing in itself. Can still feel the vibration of family traumas even if it was generations ago.

Feysand Growing up HC

-What if Rhys and Feyre were raised in Velaris together?

-Being economically successful, Feyre’s father is close friends with the High Lord. Both  their respective wife and mate have children around the same time.

-The Merchant’s daughter and the High Lord’s son are practically raised in unison.

-They nap together. They take their first steps together. They’re potty-trained together. They share toys as toddlers. They finger paint together. They take naps together. They take lessons from Rhys’s mother. Basically, they live together.

-When they’re 3 months old, they’re sharing a crib and boom the bond clicks. Though, not so boom because they’re babies and they don’t feel it.

- Their parents don’t know because the only thing they notice is that their kids are now sleeping right next to each other.

-They become an iconic childhood duo.

-The one thing everyone wonders, though, as the two run down the Rainbow, is “When is their mate bond gonna snap?”

-Feyre and Rhys can’t tell, they just believe that this is what a best friend is supposed to be like, since Rhys’s parents are their only mate example.

-When Rhys starts to learn how to fly, Feyre is pissed. Her dialogue for two weeks is a relentless stream of “This is not fair.” “Why do you get to fly?” “You’re not even grateful, you prick.” “I want to fly.” “Why can’t you take me with you?”

-Rhys, being a child, sticks his tongue out at her.

-Momma Rhys watches from the kitchen. Once Feyre storms out, she calls to Rhys, “You are not my boy if you don’t go out of your way to take a female in your life flying.”

-Momma trains her son real quick in the art of carrying someone else while flying.

-The dispute is solved.

-After years of the best childhood ever, Rhys’s mom declares that she’s raising her son as an Illyrian.

-Feyre and Rhys say their goodbyes, and when he’s finally gone it hurts

-They both write it off as distance from their best friend.

-For a few years, they remain pen pals.

-”Remember that savage, Cassian? We are starting to get along.”

-”My sister Nesta is becoming almost intolerable now. I miss your mom.”

-”My mother says hello. She misses you too. We have a new addition in our home. His name’s Azriel. He’s very quiet.”

-”I wish you could come and take me flying.”

-Slowly, they piddle out until one of these letters becomes the last.

-Feyre’s family loses their status, not to the starving devastation of ACOTAR, but enough so that they fall out with the High Lord.

-Rhys finds comfort in Cassian, Azriel, Mor, and Amren. Feyre becomes a recluse, until the tale of the Merchant’s daughter and the High Lord’s son becomes an obsolete story.

-Feyre and Rhys try romantic relationships with others, but they always fall short.

-Years later, after the blood rite, Rhys returns from the camps.

-A large party is thrown in his honor, and neither looks for one another.  But, like a compass that always points North, somehow the two find each other.

-It’s as if they were spinning in circles for years, stumbling, trying to recover, until they smile at each other.

-The looks hits hard, only comparable to the instant when the world seems rightside-up again after all that turning.

-It’s a night like no other. Years have passed, but they recognize each other. Conversion is easy. They don’t sleep, talking all night.

-When he leaves again and the pain that faded all those years ago becomes incredibly strong once more, they know.

-Rhys doesn’t even question his duties before he hauls ass back to Velaris letting the tug in his chest drag him through the city.

-She sits alone at a café, slowly nursing a tea to ignore the ache growing in her chest.

-No thoughts pass through his mind as he dives down and collides at full force with the street outside the little fence that surrounds the café patio.

-A large cloud of dust forms. People scream and hide. Chaos ensues for fear of attack.

-Feyre stands calmly, throws a leg over the fence, and walks into the cloud.

-Rhys looks around like a wildcat for her.

-She sees him. She loses her breath. A cataclysmic force runs through both of them as the bond snaps fully at their eye contact.

-”There you are. I’ve been looking for you.”

-They’re in each other’s arms. They’re flying. They’re laughing. They’re kissing because oh gods it makes sense. All the years, the friendship, the pain. It makes sense.

-”I can’t believe it,” Rhys says, breathless in-between kisses, “it was you. All this time it was you.”

-More kissing, sloppy kisses as they grin like fools.

-”I’m glad it’s you,” Feyre whispers.

-He leans his forehead on hers. “Me, too. Darling. Me, too.”

The Foxes and College Yearbook Quotes:
  • Andrew Minyard: “Fuck Stickball and fuck Josten”
    • Just to piss Kevin off. Poor Day’s brain fried for a second and he went “Wait, are you changing sport?! What the fuck, Andrew! What is this stickball?! What did they promise you?!” Wymack had to be the one to tell him.
    • Neil smiled at the quote as if he was looking at a little fluffy kitten; he got his percentage raised for that.
  • Kevin Day: “Be the Queen on your chessboard. Kings never get too far.”
    • The poor kid spent weeks polishing his quote and now Foxes spend most of their times after reading it fake-bowing in front of him.
    • Jean sends him a picture when Renee shows it to him; it’s just his own face with an arched eyebrow. Kevin answers “Fuck you”, but he smiles seeing Jeremy making faces in the background.
  • Neil Josten: “Ohana means family, and family means no one gets abandoned or forgotten - Lilo and Her Weird Alien Dog”
    • The upperclassmen cried.
    • It took them a week to realize Neil honestly thought the name of the movie was “Lilo and Her Weird Alien Dog” because that’s what Andrew told him.
  • Aaron Minyard: “Two chemists go into a restaurant. The first one says -I think I’ll have an H2O.- The second one says -I think I’ll have an H2O too- and he died.”
    • he actually wanted to write “Fuck you, Andrew” but Katelyn glared at him until he changed it.
    • Andrew gets it, but refuses to laugh on principle.
  • Nicky Hemmick: “I’m GGG: Getting Gayer and German”.
    • He employed Erik’s help, but the man is a sap and only offered romantic/sentimental quotes, so he had to find something on his own.
    • He fought the whole editorial department to have his quote in rainbow colors and he won.
  • Danielle Wilds: “I wear steel-ettos to better kick you in the balls.”
    • It may or may not be a reference to a certain Raven and a certain banquets and she may or may not take a picture of the quote “@” him on twitter.
    • Allison, Matt and Nicky all high five her when they read it.
  • Allison Reynolds: “Pretty hurts, steals your money and burns your house.”
    • She fucking loves the Wonder Woman movie, so her other option was “Men are unnecessary for pleasure.
    • But after Raven fans trashed her cars she wanted to make a statement, that she could hit back thrice as hard.
  • Matt Boyd: “Danielle Wilds, would you make me the honor of taking me as your Proud Trophy Husband?”
    • Yup. He honest to God asked her like that. They had actually talked about it already, stuff like “What if I asked you to get married?”, “Now?!”, “No! More dramatically and stuff, but yeah… Would you say yes?”, “Make it more dramatic than Aaron and Katelyn and we have a deal.”
    • He brought Dan the yearbook and then knelt when she was distracted reading so when she lifted her eyes there he was, with a ring and blushing to the roots of his hair. Nicky filmed everything.
  • Renee Walker: “To be kind and to be helpless are two different matters.”
    • Nicky finds it adorable, while Neil and Andrew read it for the threat it is and their smiles are creepy and dark for a moment there. Allison looks proud.
    • Jean retweets the picture of the quote and adds “@Alvarez, this is why you don’t fight her”. It’s the first tweet ever in which he “@”s someone and the Trojans are so proud they collectively send Renee flowers.

good thoughts on things that Definitely happened during The Summer of Mutual Pining: makkachin was obviously trained using commands in russian, so victor has to teach yuuri those commands like if he ever wants/needs to tell makka to do something. victor adores the way yuuri's tongue curls around the russian words

ANON YOU BEAUTIFUL TROPICAL FISH.

Imagine the tremendous cardiac stress test that is teaching Yuuri Russian commands while he carefully and seriously repeats after you. He has such beautiful intonation. Maybe he’s practiced Russian before. Or maybe he’s just naturally good at languages, the way he’s naturally good at back-bends and temple-massages and holding himself against a pole with his frankly miraculous thighs.

(Yuuri, who has been practicing how to say “My name is Yuuri Katsuki and it was an honor to skate with you today” since he was fifteen, thinks his intonation sounds very childish and sloppy. It sounds nothing like the actual hundreds of hours of Victor Nikiforov interviews he has watched on YouTube.)

But anyway. As it turns out. All of this is nothing compared to actually seeing Yuuri run through Makkachin’s entire retinue of commands in Russian as Makkachin gets more and more excited about the high-value treat that is surely at the end of this adventure and Victor stands in the corner trying not to choke on air.

As Makkachin complies with the last command (”shake”) they do that devastating maneuver where Yuuri gasps in delight and Makkachin does the universally-recognized ‘please get on the floor so I can give you face-kisses’ dance.

“The best girl,” Yuuri says in his halting Russian. She yips happily and sets about drowning him in kisses. “The smartest and best girl.”

Fuuuuuuck,” Victor somehow does not say.
