Saw @maychorian did this, and it looked like fun! :D
Relationship status: Married to a guy who is also my best friend. We’re nerds. It’s awesome. But first and foremost, we’re best friends. I keep thinking it’s weird saying I’m his wife because whenever I look at him I’m like, ‘Oh, right, yeah, we’re married, and that’s super awesome, but bascially we’re really nerdy friends together.’ :D :D <3
Favorite color: I love to look at bright and vivid colors, but I usually gravitate towards dressing in more neutral colors. Deep sapphire blue is my all-time favorite, but I also like dark browns, elegant black, and deep blood red. :-)
Pets: None, mostly because I’m deathly allergic to cats (no joke, I sort of start to swell up like a balloon if I’m around anyone who even owns a cat and have to exit the room) and dogs, while adorable, are not something I grew up with. Maybe at some point we’ll get a pet, but sadly, it won’t be a cat, because if it was, I’d die. *sigh*
Last song you listened to: ‘Something Just Like This’ by The Chainsmokers and Coldplay (I posted a link to it in an earlier post) :-)
First Fandom: I saw ‘The Fellowship of the Ring’ NINE times in theaters. NINE. In my defense, that year sucked for me in my personal life, and being able to jump into an epic story about friendship and fighting evil was a nice break from all the shit that was going down. My username here and on AO3 and on Fanfiction (Rangergirl3) is something I came up with because I have always LOVED the Rangers (Dunedain) in the LOTR universe. :D
Hobbies: Writing (both fanfic and original), trying to draw, doing various crafts - which include cross-stitch, embroidery, knitting, and writing out poems or favorite book/movie quotes on canvas with charms and painted backgrounds or details, going for runs to my favorite music, and drinking lots of coffee.
Currently reading: Well, if we’re including audiobooks (which is what I listen to non-stop while crafting) it’s the Dresden Files by Jim Butcher - currently I’m on Book Seven, ‘Dead Beat’.
sometimes I forget that Shia Labeouf was this really awkward and nerdy kid in Even Stevens which was a huge show in my childhood and now he’s an activist and gives no fucks and shouts at actual nazis and gets arrested and comes right back and just damn Shia I love you
Ok but can we talk about how important Ludi Lin’s character is in Power Rangers like oh my god here we have this incredibly attractive ASIAN MAN who isn’t attractive because of his race and who isn’t a stereotypical nerdy unattractive Asian man but is really attractive and flirty and badass but also has a realistic soft side because he loves his mom and takes care of her because she’s really sick and isn’t afraid to scream to the world “I LOVE MY MOM” and isn’t afraid to admit that he’s scared that he’s scared for his mom and is lonely and is also undeniably Chinese but also undeniably AMERICAN because yes Asian people can also be American and omg I just can’t rn his character is a BLESSING
The Enterprise-D doesn’t have a Chief Science Officer. It’s a massive ship with exploratory purposes and there’s no Chief Science Officer. Even DS9 had a Science Officer, who was assigned before anyone even knew there were new scientific opportunities there. For a ship whose purpose is finding new scientific stuff, you would think there would be a Science Officer
Another thing I love about Yuri on Ice Yuuri’s glasses aren’t an aesthetic thing. They aren’t there to show as cute little nerdy guy. He just really can’t see well without them. When he takes them off to skate it’s not to show he’s a gorgeous confidant man (he totally is tho) NOPE, he takes off his glasses because it would be impractical to wear them while skating. He probably doesn’t wear contacts because he doesn’t like them. It’s great.
Lena Luthor Headcanon: She’s a super huge nerd in her private life. Inspired by the fact that Katie McGrath is a huge nerd in real life, I can’t help but picture Lena Luthor, in private, fangirling over heroes like Supergirl and The Flash. And she was super horified by Lex, not only because he’s crazy af. But because he was trying to kill an nerd culture icon. And being really into movies/tv/comic books. She’s this regal CEO, but in private she’s just a fangirling dork.
“Hey!” Kara descends into crazed laughter, her arms wrapping around her now aching sides.
Lena rolls her eyes with a broad smile spread across her face, reaching for a dishcloth to wipe off the flour Kara graciously swiped on her nose. Baking with Kara was hardly worth all the trouble; she can hardly keep her fingers from the bowl of batter and she takes every chance to clap her hands, coated in flour. But, it was a relieving break from the systematic baking Lena was used to: following the recipe with ease to light music on the speakers. Kara provided the music this time around, selecting a jaunty rock playlist, perfect for her air guitar antics. Lena would usually be annoyed by such erratic and goofy behavior, but she knew she had never before smiled this much.
#100studytips & #100daysofproductivity STUDY TIP!! STUDY TIP!! NO. 2. TAKE YOUR NOTES BEFORE CLASS. This is a follow on from yesterday’s tip :) It’s just to emphasise the importance of actually taking your notes (i.e. from text book) about the content being covered BEFORE the next class or lecture. And then just supplementing your notes from extra info in class. It’s kinda nerdy, but it really is soooo worthwhile. And WHY would we nerd-away and do this anyway? Well, a few reasons…
1. Following on from Tip 1, you write less in class, therefore listen more. This increases understanding on the stuff covered in class.
2. It improves memory recall for later when you have the exam.
3. Classes suddenly become (semi or a lot) more interesting.
4. … because you’re engaged. If you’re not engaged, things get pretty boring. And you fall asleep.
5. You will feel like an absolute legend in class, and feel empowered. Great feeling!!
6. And, you are super pre-prepared for the upcoming exam in weeks to come. So when it comes to revision… yay, super easy!!
*nerdy girl and popular girl walk into bathroom together*
*puts on make-up in the mirror* I watched that show you're so into last night.
You have! I knew I'd convert you sooner or later!
I didn't really like it.
Seriously!? Come on!
Like, the effects are really bad and the plots don't make sense. The British accents are weird too.
The effects are part of the charm. You have to actually pay attention to the plot. Also, British accents rule. It's how real English is supposed to sound.
*puts on lipstick and smacks lips* It's just not my thing. I don't like sci-fi space stuff. I like action and drama. Realistic stuff.
Speculative fiction tends to influence science, so everything you're dismissing now could possivly be very realistic in a few decades.
I don't pay attention to that stuff. I like the here and now.
*sighs* Whatever, enjoy being boring.
*notices a string coming out of the nape of popular girl's neck*
*lightly tugs on string*
*stops moving entirely*
Are you alright?
*remains silent and still*
*completely pulls string out of popular girl's neck*
*disappears in a puff of smoke*

I think I'm the only one who can see it.
The knitter. It's sitting up on that building there. It's huge, and it's just knitting.
What does it look like?
It looks big and pregnant. But, it's stomach is made of yarn. It's just knitting. People, animals, buildings, clouds. Millions of things.
That sounds weird.
I think it's god.
There's nothing on the horizon. Like, there's nothing beyond it. Everything just starts where it sits. Now that I think of it. I've never been beyond that building. There's nothing but white out that way. Emptiness.
*looks at fuzzy yarn hands*
*lights up cigarette*
The I-95 takes you into Baltimore that way. But, you should write a book about that before anyone else does. I'd read it.
I don't like to write about what's on my mind.
*opens third eye on its belly*
*in the present, a week after our initial events*
*missing poster with popular girl's face is blown away by a careless wind*
