this is not speaking to jews as a whole

Top 5 Soc girls. Top 5 Soc guys.

I could do the whole speech about ew!Soc and I would never blah blah blah, but you know the deal by now.

TOP FIVE SOC GIRLS

  1. Frannie. I guess, objectively speaking, she is probably the most physically appealing, but, man, she is so dang rude.
  2. Rachel. It’s a Jew thing. Enough said.
  3. Sage. I haven’t really had much interaction with her, but she seems aesthetically pleasing.
  4. Madison. I mean.. she is kind of young, but she is probably the only other Soc girl I know by name.
  5. Quinn. She can go last because I like her in last place. But, yeah, I guess she is traditionally pretty.

…I just realized that only two of these aren’t Cheerios. Does that mean I have a type?

TOP FIVE SOC BOYS

  1. Brody. He’s probably the devil incarnate or at least he’s five headed dog… but you know. Attractive, I guess
  2. Hunter. He makes me want to throw things, but I cannot tell a lie. He’s aight.
  3. Mike. He’s a dancer, which is kind of attractive.
  4. Blaine. His hair is nicely done or whatever.
  5. Jeff. He isn’t Sebastian.

Charoset Ice Cream: A Passover Surprise!

In the words of my dear Aunt Nancy: “That looks so delicious but seems so wrong!” I’m sure she speaks for many a Jew who may have initial misgivings about putting the Pesach food symbolic of thousands of years of manual labor into happy (giddy, really) ice cream form. I am here to tell you, as I told Aunt Nancy, that this Charoset Ice Cream business is insanely delish.

Before we go any further, let me clarify for the gentiles in the crowd: Charoset is one of the symbolic foods eaten at Passover dinner, traditionally made from apples, walnuts, honey, cinnamon, and wine. For seder, it represents the mortar Egypt’s slaves shaped into bricks. In ice cream form, enrobed by honey vanilla ice cream, it becomes something like the dreamiest apple crisp a la mode you’ve ever dared imagine.

i really really am not looking for drama with this post i just feel like there’s something that needs to be said -

there’s a whole big thing re:jewish converts happening right now, and it’s entirely possible it’s unrelated to what i think it’s about BUT if i’m correct something needs to be clarified.

this did not start as ethnic jews “auditing” anyones conversions. literally all we said was that, in the case of two very specific people, saying that you’re in the process of converting to judaism does not suddenly absolve you from antisemitism, and does not give you the right to start speaking as an ultimate authority on jewish issues.

like my grandpa literally escaped nazi germany, sorry if i don’t feel comfortable with someone who was raised not jewish suddenly speaking on things like the shoah. that’s not okay.

but yeah again this whole situation was about TWO VERY SPECIFIC PEOPLE, and is not a commentary on how ethnic jews in this lil section of tumblr feel about converts as a whole.

like i said i could be totally wrong about the situation but i think this is what it’s about, and it’s important that people understand this.

Attention Tumblr Users

As many of you might know, tomorrow is the jewish holiday, Yom Kippur. It is a day of memorial and remembrance foe those we have lost. In memory of them and to honor their loss and pain, many jews will be fasting tomorrow including myself. Out of respect for your fellow jewish bloggers, please tag all food tomorrow, as it will make the day a whole lot easier to get through. Thanks everyone!

God pretty much invalidates the gender binary with Galatians 3:28: “there is neither male nor female”

1 Corinthians Chapter 7 is literally just talking about how God favors asexuals bc they’re more like him (and like, if you absolutely have to have sex, make sure it’s consensual)

In Matthew 19:12, Jesus (albeit vaguely) talks about accepting trans people

Jesus speaks out again ableism literally every five seconds pick up a Bible and flip to somewhere in the new testament and I promise you there will be something about it.

Also Jesus dying on the cross overrides all the rules established in Leviticus, which is pretty much the only instance of anti-LGBT sentiment in the whole book

and that’s the gospel truth
Galatians 3:28-29 says, “There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.” So yeah, this is a pretty solid argument that God doesn’t see party lines/gender/identity as long as you accept Him.

1 Corinthians 7:4 says “The wife does not have authority over her own body but yields it to her husband. In the same way, the husband does not have authority over his own body but yields it to his wife.” That basically invalidates the whole “wives belong to husbands and should never have ‘headaches’” argument (as made popular by Michelle Duggar) because husbands belong to wives in just the same way. Equality, bitches.

1 Corinthians 7:6-7 says “I say this as a concession, not as a command. I wish that all of you were as I am.” So basically, this entire paragraph that says “have consensual sex once married and don’t burn with lust (unless you don’t consent),” ends by saying “it would be better if you were an asexual being like Myself, but humans sometimes wanna do the do, so do the do like this.”

1 Corinthians 7:12-16 basically says: If your husband/wife isn’t a Christian, don’t divorce them for it. They are sanctified by being with you. (Which, honestly, was one of my ~big Christian fears~.) If they leave, let it be so. Then, it ends with, “God has called us to live in peace.”

1 Corinthians 7:32-35 basically says: The married (romantically/sexually attached) people are more concerned with pleasing their partners than God. The unmarried (unattached) people are more concerned with pleasing God than others. The person who does not marry (does not have sex/get romantically attached) one-ups the person who does marry to give into his/her lust in a way that is not sinful.

Matthew 19:11-12 says “Jesus said, ‘Not everyone can accept this word, but only those to whom it has been given. For there are eunuchs who were born that way, and there are eunuchs who have been made eunuchs by others—and there are those who choose to live like eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. The one who can accept this should accept it.’” It’s vague, but you can make an argument that, yes, maybe it IS God’s plan for you to not be cissexual, and bigots need to come to terms with it. Be ready, though: you may get a comeback claiming that this verse references abstinence instead of gender identity, because the questioning statement made by the disciples that leads to this is along the lines of ‘a man would be better not marrying, because lust.’

And YES, JESUS’ TEACHINGS AND THEN HIS DEATH ON THE CROSS BASICALLY INVALIDATE STUPID OLD TESTAMENT LAWS. He often rebuked many of those old laws Himself (from the top of my head: he allowed Christians to eat anything and said that Jewish/Old Testament kosher laws didn’t apply to us in Mark 7). Besides, if a woman is wearing polyester (Deuteronomy 22:11) or a man likes to throw the ol’ pigskin around (Leviticus 11:26) or someone’s daughter isn’t a virgin on her wedding night (Deuteronomy 22:21) and they’re condemning and damning you for being LGBT+, you should ask that they be stoned to death with you, because they are sinning too.
