this is not one of your japanese animes

[TRANS] non-no Magazine 2017 Aug Issue - BTS Jin

Q1: What’s your hobby or something you’re into recently, how do you spend your holiday?

A1: Jungkook decided to learn drums in his free time during the world tour so I started learning guitar too. But he couldn’t bring the drum set along so eventually only I brought the guitar and continued to practice. (laughs) I’m playing our songs like ‘Butterfly’ and ‘Spring Day’. I want to show it on the stage one day.

Q2: Tell us your fashion style or preference!

A2: I like neat and simple fashion. When I go to places where I’ll be seen by many people, I wear clothes I got as gifts from others as much as I can. Because if I were them, I would be happy seeing people I cherish wearing clothes I gave them too.

Q3: Favorite perfume?

A3: I’m using a perfume with soft sweet smell. It feels like the soft texture of cotton candy. It doesn’t mean the smell of cotton candy. (laughs)

Q4: Favorite work among Japanese movies, dramas, mangas?

A4: I like Japanese animes so I used to watch ‘One Piece’ and ‘Bleach’ every week when I was a trainee. Recently I’m into a high school volleyball manga called ‘Haikyuu!!’ so I often read it.

[Shining face]
[“Let’s live freely and happily”]

If I were to describe myself with one word, it would be “bright”. I feel happy from small things like when I make someone laugh with my words, or when someone makes me laugh. My charming point is my “shining handsome face”! (laughs) It feels embarrassing saying from my own mouth but I think it’s quite symmetrical. (laughs) And “Let’s live freely and happily” is my motto. It’s something I always engrave in my heart and tell myself whenever something’s not going well and I get anxious.

“The members’ hyung who went to a cafe together with me before debut, talked with me for a long time and gave me advice. He keeps fooling around with dad jokes recently, but Jin-hyung’s really cool when he’s serious! (laughs)

from JIMIN

“We spend a lot of time together playing games. I still remember we bought each other’s game console about 1 hour before we headed to Japan and played in our free time even after arriving. His skill is… one level above me? (laughs)

My top ten most powerful animated teens.

1. I am not including any DC, Marvel, or (Japanese) Anime teens. This is purely from  cartoon origins. If I included anime and comics, it would be riddled with them

2. They must have super powers, a super powered weapon, or in some way shape or form give them abilities beyond human powers.

3. One per franchise.

4. To be considered a teen, they must be between the ages of 12 to 19 when we are introduced to them.

5. This will be from only shows I have seen, so if a character of yours isn’t on the list I am sorry.

10. Steven Universe

Steven is the youngest member of the crystal gems (biologically 14 years old)

He is half human and half gem. While he is not much of a fighter, he is by no means weak.

He has one of the best defensive capabilities that I have seen.

His bubble shield is able to survive a spaceship crash from orbit.

His weapon of choice is a shield, that has unique properties that we have yet fully seen

He is able to heal injuries and broken gems with his spit.

He has enhanced strength and is tough enough to be thrown around by giant monsters and powerful creatures without much issue.

But the most amazing part about steven is, he is still learning. Once he unlocks his full potential it is obvious that I will have to put him higher on the list.

9. Ladybug from Miraculous:Tales of Ladybug and Chat noir.

Marinette is the heroine of Paris known as Ladybug.

With enhanced strength, speed, and durability. She is one tough customer. Her yo-yo can extend to any length, the line is unbreakable (Able to hold down a freaking T-rex) and has the ability to purify akuma.

But her greatest ability seems to be “Lucky charm”

This deus ex Machina ability allows the girl to solve a problem by giving her a random  item, which she will use to defeat her opponent in an unorthodox way.

And of course the other ability of Miraculous healing, which fixes all of the destruction that happened during the battle.

I chose her over chat noir mainly due to her having the purification ability

aside from that, they are practically equal.

8. Star butterfly from Star vs the forces of evil

Star is a 14 year old girl who happens to be princess of the kingdom of mewni

who happens to hail from another dimension.

She is constantly battling monsters that want her wand.

While I have her very low on the list, she does have potential to one day be near the top 5 of this list.

Why you ask.

Because of her magic wand!

The exact amount of power she possesses is unknown. It definitely not something one dismisses. It is strong enough to conjure up an assortment of pain, can alter ones anatomy, and even cause untold destruction in the wrong hands.

It only gets more powerful, I hope to see what it is really capable of.

7. Randy Cunningham: RC9GN

This teen ninja is responsible for protecting norrisvile from monsters, robots, evil wizards, and more.

With an arsenal of weapons that range from sharp to deadly stealthy to just plain ridiculous. The guy has almost as many weapons as batman!

But of course, he also has enhanced senses, limited elemental powers such as the ninja air fist, the tengu fire ball and more.

He also has super strength, enhanced speed, agility, reflexes, the whole typical hero stuff.

But This guy has a few more tricks up his sleeves, giving him a slight edge over the previous entrees.

6. Jake long, From American dragon: Jake long

Being the magical protector of New york city

Jake long has the power of dragons

With senses enhanced by his dragon transformation.

His senses are head and shoulders above the competition.

He can fly over 200-300 mph,

Strong enough to live 5 to 25 tons

breathes fire (Both as a rapper (Jk), and as a dragon)

claws that can rip through steal.

durability that makes being knocked through a brick wall an “inconvenience”

This dragon is tough and hard to beat.

5. Danny Phantom:

“Yo Danny phantom he was just 14

his parents built a strange machine,

designed to view a world unseen.”

But then s*** happened, and Danny fenton is now Danny phantom, protector of Amity park.

Having a ton of abilities Danny is one tough foe.

He can over shadow people,

shoot ecto blasts,

create energy shields

turn invisible, and intangible

Strong enough to pick up a bus with ease.

can fly over 150 miles per hour.

has cryokinisis (Ice powers)

can replicate himself making himself 4x as deadly!

And of course his most powerful ability

the Ghostly wail.

His last resort shout is strong enough to devastate a city.

While it was close between him and Jake,

Danny has the upper hand in terms of powers

4. Korra from Legend of Korra.

The latest avatar is certainly something. (Aside from being amazingly beautiful and powerful)

The protector of the world.

This girl has fought spirits, benders, Giant robots! the whole shabang

She can manipulate, fire, earth, water and Air with ease.

She even picked up metal and spirit bending!

But her most powerful form is her Avatar state.

In this state, she is powerful enough to stop city destroying lasers, level armies, fight embodiments of chaos!.

This girl is a beast and I am giving her this spot because honestly, Very few can top this chick.

3. XJ9 or Jenny from my life is a teenage robot.

The robotic teen protector of Tremorton.

Jenny is a powerful robot that protects the city and the world from city destroying monsters, robots, aliens, and robot Aliens!

She has the strength of 1million and 70 men. Which Is tough to calculate, but it is known she can easily lift well over 100 tons with ease.

Fly at high speeds,

has a weapon arsenal so insane it could dwarf the fire power of most militaries!

Her titanium alloy body makes her tough enough to survive most attacks without much damage.

she is as smart as a super computer.

Has more types of visions then the man of steel himself.

Has destroyed Planet destroying meteors with only slight difficulty.

This girl is tougher then she looks.

2. Ben ten from ben ten, alien force, omniverse and etc.

A teenager with the powers of every alien in the known universe.

The omnitrix is by far one of the best weapons in the existence of the world.

Ben tennyson is a 16 year old kid who got the coolest gift in existence

a watch that can turn him into any alien for about 10 minutes at a time (Unless plot says other wise or some sh*t says he needs longer then that).

If I were to describe all of his powers and abilities,

It would take forever!

The kid just has all the powers!

If you can think of it, one of his aliens probably has it.

He is one of the two most broken heroes in cartoons.

but the question is.

Who is number one?

1. Rex Salazar from Generator rex.

Now I know what you are thinking.

“How can this guy top  Mr. All aliens ever?”

Well it is actually really simple.

He actually became a god for a short time.

Now before then, he probably would have been on par with korra.

Being able to turn any part of himself into a kick butt machine

curing evo controlled living creatures.

enhanced durability and healing.

But what made this guy go beyond all of that was godhood.

He attained five meta-nanites that gave him god like powers.

Which he used to cure all of the evos. And after that he turned it off for good.

What makes him different from ben is, while Ben has a god like alien as well, ben is limited by two other beings that make it near impossible to do anything with it.

Rex had full control. This made him superior to ben.

That is why Rex is number one.

(let me know your thoughts on this. Did I miss any other cartoons?)

*Get to know your favorite monsters!*

The kirin (in Japanese), is one of the rarest, and most powerful creatures ever known in East Asia. In Japan, the unicorn-like kirin is popular. Kirin are regal animals, holy and highly revered, and often considered a god in its own right. The kirin is also a chimerical beast resembling a deer with scales like a dragon’s covering its body. It has a tail like an ox’s and a flowing mane. Its body and mane are covered in brilliant holy fire. Its face is the picture of utter serenity.

Kirin are gentle animals that never eat the flesh of other beings, and they are aware of not treading on any living thing, even lowly insects. When it walks, it does so without trampling a single blade of grass. Its beauty is only surpassed by its rarity; kirin only appear during periods of world peace, during the reigns of noble and enlightened rulers, in lands owned by wise and benevolent people, or as heralds of a golden age. Kirin never harm good and pure souls, but they are swift and fierce to attack if threatened, breathing the holy fire from their mouths.

Originally, kirin were introduced to Japan from Chinese myths and legends, where they are known as “qilin”. Over time, the Chinese and Japanese versions diverged into slightly different creatures. In Japan, the kirin is considered to be the most powerful and sacred beast of all, surpassing the hou-o (“phoenix”) and tatsu (“dragon”) in power.

A giraffe is also called kirin in Japanese, named for the traits it shares with the holy kirin. Its long legs, scale-like pattern, gentle nature, and the knobs on its head must have reminded the first Japanese to see a giraffe of this most sacred of beasts.

The train scene in Miyazaki’s Spirited Away is one of the most memorable, beautiful, and baffling moments in the film. So what does it mean? What’s going on? What is its purpose?

GUYS. This is a long post, but please read it if you are in the yoi fandom!

Anyway, a lot of us heard about the movie “Love on Ice” made by the Hallmark Channel, and noticed the ressemblance with “Yuri On Ice”
If you haven’t seen my post about it, a few days ago, I wrote to Hallmark on their facebook page about it (I was really salty when I wrote it so..)

This is the message I sent them:

Hello! If you’re not aware, there has been some controversy about a new movie you’re going to air on your channel soon. Im not trying to start anything here, but here’s a question I think a lot of people are asking themselves right now.
Can any of you guys explain the really supspicious ressemblance between your new movie “Love On Ice” and the japanese animated series “Yuri On Ice” (who was released before)? Im not necesserely saying that you (or the producers of said movie) copied this amazing show (and of course changing the beautiful gay romance for a straight one, but that’s not surprising), but if you did a little research, you have to admit that it’s weird. It could be a total coincidence, and im not trying to be rude, im just looking for answers about the situation. Thank you for your time.

They later answered by telling me that “They would pass along my comments”

Finally, today, they wrote to me again:

Hello again, (my name). I wanted to share with you a statement from the writer of “Love on Ice”:

“Love on Ice script was conceptualized, pitched and commissioned in March of 2015 and written and delivered in March of 2016 – 8 months before the anime project. Many sports films in history are about overcoming odds and triumph. Almost every romance film is about people connecting on an intimate level and falling in love. These are broad, universal themes none of us has a trademark on. I hope the audience will tune in to Love On Ice on Hallmark Channel, Saturday, January 7.” Writer, Matt Coppola

Yes, at first I was mad at them, but I don’t think that they deserve it anymore. They took the time to answer my questions and were polite about it. We need to acknowledge that this movie was just a coincidence. Yuri On Ice fandom, I think it’s time to stop the shit that we started. Thanks for reading.

Languages without textbooks

Because I disagree with ONLY using language textbooks…

Do I have to emphasize on the “only” more?

Disclaimer: this post applies mainly to outside of a classroom setting [even then I disagree but that’s a whole different matter]. Also It doesn’t mean I won’t use a textbook from time to time, or that I look down on people who use textbooks. As a matter of fact I’m jealous because my attention span isn’t high enough for textual learning. This does NOT mean you shouldn’t use textbooks. For a beginner, it is important that you use one. But, it’s better not to only use that. I learned a slavic language, as well as English, with only these methods, they kinda work yo. But I’m a mere language peasant so don’t think I’m some next level thing cause I’m not!

I’m not a fan of textbooks because I feel like they’re on this repetitive paradoxal cycle that ends you into a slump as soon as you start to feel like you’ve achieved something. I tried completing over six books and it always ends up like this. They usually teach you vocabulary that doesn’t correlate well, and they don’t provide enough explanations on the grammatical nuances. Also, most of them don’t even tackle the spoken language and slang, which I find annoying. I want to text man. I want to be able to be as rude in Romanian as I am rude in English. Why don’t you give me that?

It’s dry, and I want to cry just by looking at the amount of Smith and Tanaka’s in Japanese textbooks. If I see one more スミスorシュミット from ドイツ with a generic company name I will scream.

Ok apart from crappy 2 min paint skills, behold the methods.

Reading thematic/reference books

Pick up a book on X subject (for my case in Japanese), like an encyclopedia about animals.

  1. Start by breaking your book in sections. I use the page method, meaning I’d read a page at least twice before going to the next page. Breaking your reading material in smaller/digestible sections won’t exasperate you, or demotivate you. Think about it. What is a smarter goal? Reading the whole book by Tuesday vs Reading 10 pages by Tuesday ? Go for a smaller portion, especially if you have other commitments.
  2. Don’t start by searching up words. Read the section you started with first. Read it once. Read it out loud preferably (optional but it helps). Then skim it for words, starting from the most recurrent words, to the least recurrent. If your book is based on one subject, don’t waste too much time on kanji if you’re doing it with jp. They might repeat a lot later on anyways. When you’re done with that, read again with your unknown vocab in mind. Don’t feel bad for not knowing everything right off the bat.
  3. The best thing I could suggest to do is to do a quick summary of what you read, in target language. Use the words you learned from the text, as well as your previous knowledge. Don’t go up searching new words, that’s a tedious process I don’t suggest, unless you have the time and motivation.
  4. When you finish your book, look for documentaries and videos on the subject you just read. Seriously youtube is full of those, and with the proper keywords, you can find everything. If you have trouble with finding something, I could help you.
  5. You don’t need to be a certain level to read a reference/thematic book (this applies especially for non romanized languages), but for Japanese I do suggest using a book which has furigana if you’re like me and don’t know the enemy properly— I mean kanji, not the enemy, my bad. Seriously, we don’t need to be advanced or achieved a specific JLPT level, or be fluent. But that doesn’t matter, as long as you’re reading something you find interesting.

Learning thematically from videos:

This is particularly useful for those who want to have some variety in their learning, or who want to have a break from said studying but still learn something. What I’d do is pick up a particular subject that you like and search it up in youtube (alternatively I recommend afreeca for Korean learners but that’s not gonna get you school subjects or niconico for Japanese learners).

  1. Find said subject in your target language, try to put good keywords to get relevant results. Don’t be like me and get imperialist propaganda while searching for politics lmao.
  2. Find a channel that posts video of said thing that you like.
  3. Open up a notebook or a note program, whatever is more efficient for you.
  4. Title this document/notebook the subject you want to learn from.
  5. Have different sections in it. What I do is: spoken language (what the person said with a translation of it, this is particularly useful for everyday expressions or slang), written (written things in the video if there are, especially if you’re looking at a lecture), and a mini glossary (for words you encountered through listening and are interesting.). For the words I suggest you search them up at the end of the video.
  6. After finishing the video, search up the words. Now, take a pretty notebook, or open up a new document titled with your subject. Write a small summary of what you watched with the words you learned/wrote in the glossary if it was a lecture video, or write a diary-style entry about what you watched. Did you watch a beauty video? Write what you think about that beauty cream presented. “She said it was 25,000W. Ugh. So expensive. I’m not paying that much for it. I prefer this foundation cream. blabla” (just a random example lol).  Basically write or type something.
  7. What to do with the spoken language part? The expressions that you heard? This applies especially if you watched a vlog, a gameplay or a random video. Check those expressions, check if you’re alone in the room and say them out loud. I promise you they will get repeated in other videos (especially the hello, this is x, thank you for watching, etc), so they are not useless. A lot of the time in japanese videos, for instance, I hear a lot of polite expressions in the beginning and end which are super useful, noticed this with romanian as well.
  8. WATCH WHATEVER YOU WANT: you like planning agendas videos? Beauty guru? Anime? Drama? Gameplays? Lectures about history? Eating shows? Seriously watch whatever please don’t be scared.

Learn from a language exchange, yas:

I’m using Hellotalk for this. Especially since it has a correction feature which means native speakers can correct you and provide notes for you. But if you want to chat with native speakers without studying the language directly, this is what I do. I just chat with the person and throw in whatever I think is right. If it’s wrong, then I cry— I mean I gladly accept the correction and learn from it. Usually when I receive a correction from the user I immediately reuse this correction in another message so it sticks in ^^!

a) write a badly written message to a language buddy

b) get correction of your message

c) optional: cry because you made an obvious mistake

d) review the correction, send a message with that correction :D

Do you like to write?:

What do you mean no? Shh, I’m sure you said yes. Nanowrimo in november, a word document all year long. Also, tumblr’s prompts. Start a little story (no matter your level), write a fanfic if you want, a novel, whatever. Doesn’t have to get read by other people, but if you want, put it on lang-8. Just write as much as you can but whenever you feel annoyed from searching up words, stop. Write when you want and when you have inspiration. I’m doing this for jp so I can attest it’s good practice :D Alternatively, making small dialogues and monologues is also a good think. Pretend this is drama class. I highly recommend this. Boost your ego!

Pretend to be a native speaker:

Yes, you read this right. Pretend to be a native speaker. No I don’t mean to pretend to be someone you’re not. I mean to immerse yourself completely. I’m talking about changing 90% of your daily things to the language. Which means:

  • phone settings
  • computer settings (please be careful here though)
  • website language (again be careful dont send random relationship requests like me).
  • training to think in the language. Next time you stab your toe on the table, curse in your target language. Say how much it hurts and how much you hate your table, in the language.
  • Twitter: tweets in your language. It can be a private twitter. My twitter is for Korean and its private and I dump in all random thoughts that are very embarrassing and most of them are about my crushes so yeah I mean double benefit! You practice writing with the new grammatical structure you encountered and then you can ramble to yourself about pretty/handsome people YAS
  • Buy the Fluency pill it’s $99.99 on Ebay…. Okay but I wish there was a fluency pill….
  • THIS ONE IS WEIRD BUT I HIGHLY RECOMMEND. This is really where you pretend to be a native speaker but you’re not. Go to x website that has the option to write comments or chat with other people from that country. We foreigners to the language love to spread the word about how we’re, well, a foreigner to them and that we’re studying that language STOP! just write everything EXCEPT THAT. I remember when I was studying this particular eastern european language, I went to a site and chatted and never said anything about being Canadian. Nobody asked, I just went along and the conversation didn’t stop or change. Honestly, we don’t write PERFECTLY in English, we use slang and write in broken phrases. SO WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE? ^O^ !!!!

Are you still alive from this long post?

*Splashes water on you* Wake up yo. Okay. You’re amazing and I love you for that. You deserve great things! Anyways last tip is… Use a textbook as long as you don’t make it your main focus. This also goes for the thematic books. We need variety!! Don’t you feel tired of only studying? What you learn…it should be used somehow… this is why I don’t like only textbooks. I was the one who studied spanish from textbooks only for years and it got me nowhere because I never used it. Use the language. That’s the golden tip seriously. BUT! Use it accordingly to your preferred study method and IF that is textbooks, don’t feel like I’m looking low at it. (I’m one of those who drools at textbook shelves and would watch a 20 min video of you making a tour of your shelf so believe me lmao).

Anyways sorry for this disgustingly long post I’ll tag this omg.

Mythological Throwback Thursday: Kappa

It’s time for another Mythological Throwback Thursday and we’re looking at the OG mutant ninja turtle, the kappa.

Hailing from Japan, the kappa is a kind of freshwater imp or spirit. In size and appearance similar to a monkey, it is said to have webbed hands and feet, a tortoise-like shell, and a peculiar depression (or plate) in the top of its head, full of water.

Kappa have a reputation for mischief and bad behaviour. They may attack children and even adult women, and are said to kidnap and even drown people. Or horses, which kappa seem to have a particular enmity for. They are claimed to have great strength and skill at wrestling, with which to overpower larger creatures, and also possess a great deal of medical knowledge. According to legends, humans were taught the skill of bone setting by befriended kappa.

Despite their evil ways, kappa are capable of being reasoned with. They will accept gifts of food, their favourite being cucumbers, and can help farmers irrigate their land, or catch fish for hungry families. Even if a kappa is about to attack you, you may be able to avert it by bowing. Kappa are very preoccupied with decorum, and will cease an attack in order to return a bow. By bowing, a kappa will spill the water contained in its head plate, weakening it greatly. Another good way of gaining the aid of a kappa is to pull its arm off, which is reputed to be surprisingly easy.

Kappa are honour-bound to keep promises. If you can compel one to swear an oath it will honour it for all time. A story exists in the Saga Prefecture of a kappa which attempted to drown the horse of a respected gentleman of the area, a man named Genta. By tying it to a tree upside down he emptied its head-plate. Genta spared its life, as it offered to swear an oath never again to harm the animals or people of his village; an oath it faithfully kept.

According to legend, kappa attack humans because they desire their shirikodama. There’s really no nice way to put this: it’s a magical anal bead where your soul lives. Yeah, I know. Nobody’s really sure why. But if you ever go swimming in a Japanese lake or river, watch your back.

In spite of grisly details like this, the kappa is a popular figure in Japanese folklore, one of the most well-known creatures in its legends, and included or referenced in many modern works. Take a bow, kappa! And we’ll see you next week for another Mythological Throwback Thursday!

Weird and slightly lame suggestion from your friendly neighbourhood comp anon, do you have any photos of the gazeboys + animals/pets... besides the obvious ones of Koron?

not a lot I’m afraid… there’s the pictures of Ruki with his old dog from rock and read

but! there are quite a few pictures of just their pets, mostly Reita’s birds

10/10 cute birds. also enjoy this picture of Koron wearing a sweater

there’s also this photo of a dog from Kai’s section of Onore one time (could be his dog, a family pet, idk, I don’t know Japanese so I don’t know what it says. any resident translators want to help out?)

since this was not really what you asked for anon here’s Reita petting his bird (that looks just like him)

Who is your favourite villain in bnha??

I don’t… really… like the villains in bnha… sorry - the one I’m the most interested in is Twice, I feel like I could end up liking him soon enough, and the one I like the design of the most is Overhaul? I’m waiting for the day Horikoshi will make Dabi interesting to me, since as of now he’s a pretty bland and anonymous character and if I knew him more the chances I’d like or dislike him are more or less equal, but that’s about it for now

Anon said: i am just going to say that i am really inlove with your bakushimanaris (like, all three of them, any one of them, tbh you just opened my eyes on bakukami though, they’re so cute and love!!!) and bakusquad i hope you draw more and more and more of them and never ever get tired of them <3 please draw more bakushimanaris, and bakusquad, or bakusquad teasing bakushimanari omg.

modern day filipino deities

bathala // god of creation, ruler of the pantheon

works as a carpenter. makes intricate furniture and statues out of wood, and sells them at a roadside shop. each figure he makes is completely unique. sometimes he breathes life into them, but just temporarily. misses the advent of humanity and wants to recreate the experience. really hands-on when it comes to building things.

mayari, tala and hanan // goddesses of the moon, stars and dawn

regulars at coffee shops and indie band concerts. all about poetry and music, but don’t have time for petty things like heartbreak. stay up all night into the wee hours of the morning. they crave the silence right before the world rearranges itself into a new symphony.

diyan masalanta // goddess of love and childbirth

the campus love doctor, takes care of everyone and their fragile hearts. is just at the age when you first fall in love. she may seem young, but her words carry weight and are universal. is always there for you, whether you’re pining or heartbroken. volunteers at a lying-in clinic for expectant mothers, ready to give a hand.

anitan tabu // goddess of wind and rain

is there one moment and gone the next. almost never inside, and never stationary. the sidewalks and alleyways are her home. the leaves and other debri pick up just a little when she walks by. smells like the air right before it drizzles.

apolaki // god of the sun and war

always glaring. only comes out when everyone else is inside because of the sweltering heat. collects old war relics and frequents the small, out-of-the-way museums in the province. visits the graves of soldiers who have no one to remember them. can repair your gun for a small fee. doesn’t seem to run out of war stories, be it from the spanish times to the japanese colonization.

dumakulem // god of the mountains

volunteers as a guide for mountain bikers. knows obscure paths like the back of his hands, and can never get lost. speaks to animals in hushed tones, telling them where to pass and get food. not really for much conversation with mortals.

anagolay // goddess of lost things

her pawn shop-slash-restaurant is full of odd artifacts, from old masks to antique jewelry. helps people with important things they’ve lost. gives students the missing hard drives, employees their car keys, and children their toys. keeps the things that don’t belong to anyone, and writes down their stories.

idiyanale // goddess of labor and good deeds

works as a public school teacher. recognizes hard work, even the one most difficult to see, and rewards it justly. all students become silent once she opens her mouth. her word is absolute but kind. underpaid employees mysteriously receive bonuses when she’s around, and the overpaid ones somehow lose their salary, just like that.

mapulon // god of the seasons

somehow manages to dress just right - not too warm, not to cold. his little shop is stocked with whatever you need, right when you need it. raincoats for when you go back to school, jackets for when it starts to get cold, swimwear when summer starts. the fruits he sells are always ripe, since he knows exactly which ones are in season. his very appearance and mood seems to change just as the climate does, but just slightly.

amanikable // god of the sea and storms

stays by the coast. has a wild beard, and looks like he hasn’t bathed in weeks. the smell of day-old saltwater clings to his body. mumbles incomprehensibly about natural disasters. the locals, especially the fishermen, usually steer clear of him, except when his whispers involve typhoons or tsunamis, in which case they head for higher ground.

lakapati // goddess of fertility and agriculture

the rice paddies are her domain during june and july, the planting season. seedlings sprout on the ground she walks on. none of the seeds the farmers plant seem to go to waste. sometimes works as a family consultant for couples who are struggling to have children.

dimangan // god of good harvest

shows his head in the fields only when harvest time comes. gives farmers who harvest by hand that extra needed energy. tends to stick around longer than lakapati does, because the harvest involves so much more than uprooting the crops - there’s also cleaning and storing and selling. makes sure farmers have just the right amount to sell to make money but not so much that the crops go to waste.

Koogi, my main bro… I will give you everything I posses, my soul, my earnings, and anything else to get some merch. Man, I’ll buy every single item added, so like, please get on that.

Like?? Honestly?? If they start printing KS copies, you’ll see me on my way to the nearest airport so I can get one of the first copies. I’ve already given my life to this manhwa, what more to lose.

If KS gets an animated series, you’ll actually find me religiously watching it over and over and over. I will actually sell my soul to satan himself to let this happen.

I don’t really watch Korean and/or Japanese movies, but if KS gets one, ima be on a plane to the theatre it’s first being played at. I’ll buy 3000 copies and pray to the motherfuckin’ actors.

Koogi, your a god/goddess, continue on doing what your doing, but I just wanna say that I will actually die for these things to happen.

In Japan, there are 3 ways to say “I love you”:

You say “Daisuki (大好き)”  for the friends and person you like,

you say “Aishiteru (愛してる)”  for a more serious relationship,

and you say “Koishiteru ( 恋してる)” to the person you want to spend the rest of your life with.

And they follow this rule. They preserve the meaning of ‘I love you’ and never lose its essence unlike us.

lokifenokee  asked:

Just dropping by to say I hope your trip went great and you made it home safe and sound! :D

I have safely returned from my amazing one month trip to Japan! But man, I wish I could stay longer <3 I would definetly recommend you to go there if you’re interested in Japanese culture and nerd stuff (I had to buy a second suitcase to bring home all the things i bought at Animate…) !

Thank you for the message @lokifenokee, that’ so sweet of you. ^_^
Instead of showing you nude pics of the@fredricus in a hot spring, have a soaked crustacean that stayed in the onsen for a little too long.

Yay, Japan!
