30 Days of Call the Midwife
Day Eighteen: Favorite Wedding
I teared up when I first watched this scene and said to myself “My children are getting married”. This is one of my most favorite scenes in all of Call the Midwife and no wedding will ever outdo Turnadette’s wedding. This moment was so satisfying because through the whole doctor/nun thing, Shelagh’s tuberculosis and Timothy’s polio, they persevered through all of that and finally get this happy moment at the altar. Shelagh and Patrick looked so great and the mosaic painting in the background was so beautiful and really added to this sweet moment. The way that they look at each other melts my heart every time I rewatch this scene and Shelagh’s moments with Trixie and Sister Julienne were really sweet and wonderful. It was so nice that Jenny, Trixie and Cynthia were bridesmaids and Timothy was Patrick’s best man. The only thing that would have made it better was if we got a kiss, but beggars can’t be choosers.
