this is far from perfectly how i pictured it

Homestuck Sizes and Distances

I was procrastinating today and I thought, hey! Why not see just how big the Homestuck Lands actually are? (I was VERY bored).

I started checking John’s house, and assuming his door frames are standard, 6’ 8" ((Or around 2 meters)), I calculated the width of his house at its thickest point. Then I compared it with LOWAS and voilá!

But then I remembered, LOWAS has rivers of tar and clouds! That measurement could have been more than it should. So I took John’s cleaned land from the latest updates and did it again. It was a noticeably much smaller measurement, so to round it a little, as it’s hard to tell sizes when your reference is a 2-7 pixel thick tower, I came up with this.

The Mass and Density of it were taken ASSUMING the Lands and Moons have the same gravity as Earth, because they don’t seem to have it any more easy jumping or anything. Which gives a… Rather small planet, but also I think relatively very heavy and dense?

It makes sense, though, after all the Lands are like Levels of a game. They have things to explore, quests, but they can’t be absolutely massive, and more when each of them is this size. For a single human to explore, and still, full of underground dungeons and with its own landscape? Still a handful! Then…

Skaia’s always seemed a bit bigger than the planets, and it’s quite obvious too since the Battlefield, of the same size as a Land, is inside of it. The measurement was taken from the Double Reacharound pic, assuming the circles that represent the troll planets and Skaia are to scale. Then, Prospit’s size has been calculated from the flash with Infinity Mechanism, the End of Act 6 Intermission 1.

Also, assuming the Gravity in the moons is also like the Earth, as Non-Dream selves have been shown to not float, and Carapacians walk like normal people, this makes the Moons, and the Moons’ Moons VERY heavy, much like the planets. I came out with…

Prospit: 4.193x10^15 kg mass, and 207963.106 g/cm3 density.

Prospit’s Moon: 1.677x10^14 kg mass, and 1039815.53 g/cm3 density.

Which means that nope, Prospit is not literally made out of Gold. Or that you can’t apply real physics to settings like Homestuck.

Once knowing the sizes of the planets, we have the Incipisphere itself. Taking the Double Reacharound picture and this as references, I calculated every planet is 9.7 km away from Skaia, placed at an equal distance from each other in a 57005.69m circumference around it.

Also if you trust that picture, apparently Derse is only 3 and a half km away from the nearest Planet if they are perfectly lined up.

Once I finished this I thought I’d just let it be but I thought- Wait, if I know the sizes and trust this so far, why not go a step further?

So I calculated just how hard the Planets clashed in Game Over.

Aranea spent 2.9 seconds throwing LOLAR towards LOFAF. That’s 1250.91 m/s. It makes me doubt about the Mass of the planets, however, because such an impact would have been EXTREMELY catastrophic. I mean, it was but, 10 thousand million (Or an american billion) times the strength of the most powerful Atomic Bomb ever detonated? That amount also represents the energy from the Sun that arrives to Earth in an entire year. So yeah. That’s a lot. Not sure if I believe that one.

This one’s even more catastrophic. Jane’s planet spent 8.7 seconds moving to LOFAF, and didn’t exactly reach, and Condy flung Dave’s planet, EVEN further away than LOCAH, in just 4.3 seconds. Which means Condy is still badass and much stronger than Aranea, but also, that Dave’s planet was going 4503 km/h towards Jane’s planet. No wonder a chunk came right off it! And that’s not taking into account how Jane’s planet’s speed affected the impact. I’m not too good with Maths, you might have noticed by this point.

I could have left it here but NOPE, since I was doing this I decided to see the strength of Prospit’s moon hitting the Battlefield in [S] Descend.

The result was… Inconclusive. I had two options, either Prospit sped up until it impacted, or it reached some terminal velocity, as it wasn’t being flung, but falling towards the Battlefield.

I checked the time it takes Prospit to hit the Battlefield in the flash, 32 seconds, and if it sped up constantly, it would reach the surface MUCH faster. It also gave the extreme energy released of 2000 Megatons, so I thought that, yeah, maybe a bit too strong.

Its maximum speed would have been around 17 m/s if it had to fall for 32 seconds, so taking that into account…

Yep, 5 Megatons sound like a more believable impact.

I also just noticed I could have calculated the true size of Prospit and Skaia taking how Prospit’s Moon fell right into the Battlefield as seen above. Seeing the size comparison I think either Skaia is bigger or the Lands are smaller… Or Prospite is bigger?

Yeah, I’ve been procrastinating to do this. Gods, what am I even doing.

YOI - Barcelona

I know this has been done before, but I wanted to do it too. So here’s my pilgrimage to Barcelona. The trip was not without its hiccups, as you will see, but for the most part, I think I covered the hot spots:

1. The hotel. By now, I think we all know which hotel they stayed at. Let’s start at the top. The pool had nice views at night, but was very cold.❄️☃️ I can only imagine what it was like in December. What were Viktor and Chris thinking???

Recent Allegations

Recently, some very strange allegations have been leveled at me. I didn’t want my very first post on tumblr to be in self-defense, but due to the number of misunderstandings occurring, I feel that it is necessary to type out a response to the claims that are being made about me.

The first allegation is that I hold “Stern hatred for the Skullgirls developers.” This isn’t true. In 2013 I became acquainted with Mike Z, the lead programmer of Skullgirls. Over the course of several months, we spoke in the Skullgirls IRC chatroom about game design and the game industry. From what I remember, our discussions were civil and respectable. Eventually, we had a really big argument about something. Looking back, I’m not proud of how I handled it. Fortunately, we later spoke with one another through private messages and resolved our differences. The end result was that I felt motivated to become a better game developer, and that’s what I choose to focus on when retelling the story. I still love Skullgirls, and I hold a lot of respect for Mike Z, Alex Ahad, and Mariel Cartwright.

The second allegation is that I am a “child solicitor” and “sex offender”. These accusations are almost too silly to dignify with a response, but I’ll respond nonetheless. About 6 years ago, I knew a young woman who did a lot of inappropriate things in order to get people to pay attention to her. One of the things she did was to send nude pictures of herself to lots of people. I was one of the people who she sent nude pictures to. Months later, I learned that she was actually too young to be doing that sort of thing. I deleted her pictures immediately, of course. To be perfectly clear; the pictures were unsolicited; I don’t go around asking kids to send me nude pics.

The third allegation is that I treat my volunteers badly and don’t want to credit them. This is another statement that is so far from reality that it doesn’t seem to warrant a response, but I may as well reply to it. I am extremely grateful and appreciative towards every volunteer who generously lends me their time, and I attempt to let them know how thankful I am for their assistance at every opportunity. However, not every volunteer produces satisfactory work. Sometimes, I have to let someone know that their contribution is too low-quality to meet my standards. Most volunteers are able to accept criticism with grace and maturity, but others are indignant, and react by becoming vindictive and attempting to slander and defame me. If someone can’t handle the fact that their work needs improvement and chooses to childishly lash out on tumblr, they need to grow up before they consider becoming part of a team.

As for the matter of giving credit to volunteers: The game is extremely early into development; it’s practically in its infancy right now. It is extremely likely that any one of the assets included within the game’s debug sandbox will not make it into the final game, or even into the official demo. This is the nature of game development; assets are created, re-imagined, re-envisioned, replaced, and tossed away all the time. There is no guarantee that any asset a volunteer makes for me will be included in the final game. Most volunteers understand this innately. Extremely few volunteers have taken this news poorly; the majority are mature enough to understand the nature of game development, and understand that their work may not meet my standards, or may eventually be replaced.

I can tell you from my experience in the game industry that the credits screen is one of the very last screens that is made for the game. It is illogical to start working on it when the game is only around 5% complete. When the official demo is released, I will credit every volunteer whose assets are included within the game. Until the official demo is released, there is no guarantee that any asset made for the game will actually be used in the final product, and thus it is far too early to consider including credits at this point in time.

Hopefully, this post will prevent others from spreading misinformation about me and Yandere Simulator. Thank you for taking the time to read it.

Fic: Top of the Rock

Summary: My entry for @rumbellesummervacation, in which Belle, Rumpel and Gideon visit Gibraltar and meet the famous barbary macaques.

Rated: G

Unfortunately I couldn’t find the picture of the macaque family from my own trip to Gibraltar, so you’ll just have to imagine it! It’s actually rather ironic as I’m scared to death of monkeys and I stayed in the minibus whilst everyone else went to take pictures with them…

If you ever are in Gibraltar then I do recommend taking a tour of the tunnels, which are fascinating.

=====

Top of the Rock

“Can we see the monkeys now? Please?”

Standing in the bright sunlight outside the entrance to Gibraltar’s fame network of tunnels, Gideon was practically bouncing up and down in excitement, rocking on the balls of his feet with a wide grin on his face, and his enthusiasm was so infectious that Belle had to smile too.

“Wait a few moments, Gid. There are a few people still in the museum. Including your Papa.”

Gideon let out a huge sigh, folding his arms, and in that moment his peeved expression was incredibly reminiscent of his father when Rumpelstiltskin had been in one of his moods back in the Dark Castle. It was an expression that would either lead to mischief or tears, but considering the circumstances, Belle was certain that this would be a mischief day. Sure enough, a little twinkle came into his eyes. Well, it would have done had they not been screwed up against the sun, and Belle hastened to put his sunglasses back on him. She’d taken them off when they had been in the tunnels, much to his chagrin, but she didn’t want him bumping into anything. Despite his insistence upon seeing the monkeys, which was the only thing that had been on his mind since they had set foot on the Gibraltar docks, Gideon had enjoyed the walk through the tunnels dug through the rock, used for a variety of purposes for over one hundred years and now maintained as a museum. He’d been particularly tickled by the hard hats they’d had to wear, all of which were bright pink so no visitors could get lost on the tour. Rumpel hadn’t been too enamoured by the hats, but he’d given in with good grace after the tour guide had offered to take a picture of the three of them next to one of the military vehicles that they had seen in the tunnels. With all his natural energy, Gideon had raced through the last part of the tour and Belle had rushed after him; Rumpel had stayed behind to take pictures of the things that Gideon had missed in his enthusiasm to get through the tunnels and see the monkeys.

To be honest, Reverse Portal Stan is the most badass Stan in any Gravity Falls AU I’ve seen so far. Stan just has this sleazy conman vibe that would translate perfectly to an interdimensional criminal. It’s so interesting how easily he could slip into a ruthless killer if he didn’t have the love for his family to keep him morally grounded. So when his brother abandons him in another dimension, he has nothing left and thus nothing to keep him from becoming a merciless space pirate. I always pictured this Stan to still have a sense of humor but as a mask to hide the horrors he faces day and night, thus there are always bags under his eyes and he goes through cigarettes like candy. And the gun he’s holding shoots lasers because why not?

Robbie’s POV:

5 months later…

I’ve gotten really close to Y/N. We’ve talked a lot and gotten to know each other. But things were a little awkward after the whole kiss thing that happened. I knew I had feelings toward her when we kissed but now I know that my feelings are growing stronger and stronger everyday. All I can ever think about is kissing her again and being able to call her mine. All I can think about is being able to hug her and never let go.

“Mr. Kay.” I heard my teacher say, but it sounded distant.

She’s always on my mind. She never leaves my head. And when I see her my heart races. Sometimes my palms get a little sweaty.

“Mr. Kay!” I heard a ruler smack onto my desk.

My eyes flickered up and I saw my teacher standing in front of my desk with an angry look.

“I uh.. yes?”

“Answer number 3.”

Everyone was staring at me. I looked at the board and saw we were going over a worksheet.

“It’s 27.”

“Correct…” she said turning around and walking over to the board.

I sighed as I looked at the board and tried to concentrate on what we were doing. I watched the clock hands move oh so slowly, time feeling like it’d only continue to be slow. Then before I know it the bell rings. I quickly gather my things and exit the classroom. I go to find Y/N. I turn the corner and see her exiting through the door. She looked around and her eyes landed on me. I lifted my arm and waved at her. A smile appeared on her lips as she walked over to me and stood by my side.

“Hey Robbie.” she said looking up at me.

“Hi.” I smiled.“

"Oh my god Mr. Johnson is a pain in the ass.” she said as we began to walk.

“Yeah. I’m glad I don’t have him this year.” I chuckled.

“Well you’re lucky…” she chuckled. “So where you headed?”

“Art room, you know that.” I said nudging her lightly,

“Oh yeah… right.” she chuckled scratching her head.

“I could walk you to your bus.” I shrugged.

“Or maybe I could join you in the art room today?” she suggested with a small shrug of her shoulders.

I glanced over at her and she was looking at me. Her eyes sparkled and her smile brightened the dark hallways.

“Sure, why not.” I shrugged. “I can drive you home.”

We walked to the art room. I open the door and held it open for her.

“Why thank you, Robbie.” she said as she walked in.

“You’re certainly welcome, Y/N.” I said following behind her.

She sat down at a table near the back of the room and watched as I took a seat next to her. I smiled warmly at her.

“So what do you want to do?” I asked.

“I do have an art project to finish. I’m a little behind.” she said. “Drawing is not my strong suit.”

“Oh, well let’s see it.” I said tapping the table as she stood up.

“Okay, but don’t laugh.” she said as she went to a cabinet and grabbed a big paper.

She held it against her chest as she sat back down.

“And the big reveal.” I said with a toothy grin as I tapped the table once again.

“Don’t laugh.”

“I won’t, now show me.”

She hesitantly placed the paper upon the table. My eyes flickered from her to the paper. It was absolutely beautiful. She was creating a lion with water color. The best part about it was that it had a rainbow mane. It gave it character and really showed her personality. Strong, confident, fun, bold, unique, beautiful.

“This is amazing Y/N.” I said looking over at her.

“Really?” she asked full of shock.

“Yes, it’s absolutely brilliant. I love the way you made the mane so colorful.” I said pointing to the mane.

“Thanks Robs.” she said and hugged me.

I smiled and hugged her back. I rubbed her back before she pulled away. I looked at her and she looked at me.

“I’m almost finished. I just have to make the tail. I’ve tried over and over and I fail each time. Can you help me out?” she asked with a shrug and an awkward smile.

“Of course I can.”

She handed me a pencil. I looked at her lion and began to draw the tail. I left it without color so she could do it.

“Thank you Robbie.” she smiled, then began to paint in the tail.

“Remember when we first came here and you said that you weren’t good at art?”

She looked up at me.

“Yes…”

“Well you’re a total liar.” I teased nudging her a little.

“I’m really not.” she laughed and went back to coloring the tail.

“You really are.” I said getting up and walking over to my little corner.

“Stop Robbie! I’m blushing.” she giggled, still work on her picture.

“Well I’m sorry but it true.” I said grabbing a sheet of paper and putting it on the table.

I began to try and think of something I could do. I watched as she gently moved the paint brush across the paper. Then an idea clicked into my head. I grabbed my camera and walked over to her, completely forgetting the paper. She looked up at me and a confused look appear on her face.

“Robbie, why do you have your camera?” she said asked.

“I have a project I need to work on for photography. Would you maybe want to help?” I shrugged with the camera and grinned.

“Okay. But after I finish up.” she said and went back to the lion.

She picked up the pencil and quickly fixed something. I looked into the frame of my camera and took a picture. She looked up and narrowed her eyes.

“Why Robbie?” she said trying to sound angry but she only sounded adorable.

“The project.” I said looking at the photo, which was perfect, then back up at her.

“Right.” she chuckled.

After a few minutes she finished up and put her painting and the supplies away.

“Okay. So your project.” she said walking up to me.

“Yes, let’s head outside.”

“Outside?”

“Yeah, I was thinking we could go to the big tree by the side of the school.”

“Oh, yeah. That’s fine, lead the way.” she said gesturing toward the door.

“I will.” I with a small smirk and strutted out the door and her following behind me.

I slowed down and turned so she could come next to me. We walked down the hall. I took a few shots of her just walking from a distance. Then once we got outside we went to the tree.

“So what should I do?” she asked with a shrug.

“Anything.”

“Anything?”

“Yeah, just like sit on the ground or against the tree or lean against it. Do what feels right.” I said gesturing to the tree.

“Hm… Okay.”

She leaned against the tree. and looked at me.

“Okay, just act casual I guess…” I said and began to take the pictures. Some from the side, some from far away, some from different angle.

As I was about to take the last shot she looked at me and stuck out her tongue and giggled. I took the picture. I looked at her and laughed along with her. She lied her head against the tree.

I looked at the picture and she looked perfect. Her smile was bright and her eyes sparkled. The light, gentle breeze blew her hair back perfectly. Her skin had a beautiful glow to it.

“How do they look?” she asked making my eyes flicker up toward her.

She looked at me with curiosity in her eyes. I stood up and walked over to her. She stood up and leaned next to me. I handed her my camera and she went through the photos.

“How are you so good at this?” she asked.

“I uh… practice.. I guess.” I said shrugging awkwardly.

I looked at her again as she looked through the photos. Everything she does just makes me weak. The sight of her makes me want her. I want her to be mine.

“They’re just so good.” she chuckled as she kept going through the pictures.

“Thanks.” I said.

She looked up and me and handed me back my camera. I looked down at the camera.

“Maybe we could go up to the roof and take a few shots?”

“The roof? How would we get up there?” she asked with much shock and confusion.

“I have my ways.” I smirked.

I started to walk back toward the school and she quickly followed behind me. When we got up to the roof she looked at the view you get from the school. You can see a good amount of the campus.

“This is so cool!” she said like an excited little kid.

“Yeah. I come up here every once in a while to just get some quiet.” I shrugged.

As she walked around I took pictures of her. She walked up to to edge of the roof and looked down. I took a picture before running up to her.

“Be careful!” I said and she turned back and looked at me.

“I will Robbie.” she said with a giggle.

She looked back out at the view one last time before she walked away from the edge and over to me.

“Why didn’t you ever show me this?” she asked poking my chest.

“I-I don’t know.” I said with a shrug.

She sighed, “You okay Robbie?”

“Yeah. I’m fine.” I smiled.

“Are you sure? You seem a bit uneasy.”

She was right. My emotions are just driving me nuts. I want to tell her how I feel but I’m terrified that she won’t feel the same way. I just don’t want our friendship to end because I care about her and she’s my best friend.

“Yeah I’m fine.”

“Robbie.” she said in a serious tone.

“Y/n.” I said mocking her tone.“

She furrowed her eyebrows and folded her arms across her chest. I did the same thing. She tried to stay serious but soon began to laugh.

"Come on Robbie just tell me what’s up.” she said.

I sighed. Maybe this was it. I guess this is the time that I should tell her. I mean, we’re alone and nothing could possibly interfere.

“Okay. I’ll tell you… There’s this girl.”

“Oooo Robbie! Details!” she teased nudging me.

I chuckled and blushed as she kept nudging me.

“Well I’ve known her for a while and were great friends. It’s just…” I trailed off.

“Just..?”

“It’s just I want to tell her how I feel but I’m scared.”

“Robbie. You shouldn’t be scared. You are the funniest, most intelligent, creative, kind, and caring guy I’ve met. Any girl who wouldn’t like you is completely stupid.”

“Really? Do you mean that?” I asked.

“Yeah. Of course I do! You are my best friend Robbie. You should tell her how you feel.”

“I should?”

“Yes Robbie.”

“Okay. I will.”

“Good! Now tell me, who’s the lucky girl.” she said with a chuckle.

“Well, she’s you.” I said scratching the back of my neck.

Shock filled her eyes. Her cheeks flushed.

“Me?”

Tears slowly began to form in my eyes.

“Yeah.. I understand if you don’t feel the same way… I mean you deserve better than me. And–”

“No Robbie. Don’t say that.” she put her hands upon my cheeks and rubbed one gently with her thumb.

“What?”

“Don’t say that. Robbie I care about you. I was actually kind of upset when you said that there was someone else.”

“Really?”

“Yeah. I’ve liked you for a few months now.”

A smile formed upon my face and the tears were gone. I wrapped my arms around her waist and gently pressed my lips upon hers. Our lips moved slowly, passionately. They moved in sync, they fit like two puzzle pieces.

I couldn’t even explanation the joy that was rushing through my head. The butterflies that swarmed in my stomach. Having the girl that I’ve wanted to have for months like me back.

As our lips pulled apart a smile formed upon both our faces. A feeling of relief, joy, and love filled my body. Didn’t want this moment to ever end.
