hahaha u know what is real cool??? to lose your laptop!! with all of the blog of the month for summer awards!! ahaha!! fUN!! :))))))))

clearly i’m being extremely sarcastic to mask my extreme anger and frustration. so, i might just make a super bad informal awards post until i find my laptop :/

also people are doing scans of their notes and i decided to hop on this train (very late) but clearly i have no idea what i’m doing, since this is very shitty quality. but hey whatever, here’s my notes for classical tragedies (centered around Sophocles’ “Oedipus the King”)

You know what I found very sad, the narrative Jon knows about his father and his parents relationship is so wrong that it will tear Jon apart. I find comfort in maybe Jona SN Dany talking more about how Rhaegar was the opposite of that narrative and of the mad king. How he liked to read and sing and would enjoy spending time around the common people, Rhaegar was a good man and would have been a great king it sucks that isn't acknowledged more

The image of Rhaegar being a rapist and kidnapper may not be true but so isn’t the one of him being the fairytale prince. Rhaegar is romanticized because he was beautiful, melancholic and people loved him. But looks can be deceiving. Sure he wasn’t a monster like his father and I’m sure in essence he was a good person but he was extremely flawed. At some point in his life he became immersed in prophecy to the point of obsession and it played a part in leading to a bloody war, countless lives lost and the downfall of his family. I don’t think someone who abandoned his wife and children to run away with a young girl can be described as honourable. For whatever his reasons, it’s a shitty thing to do. Personally, I don’t think Jon lost out on much by not knowing Rhaegar. Ned was the perfect father to him in everything but name. Ned shaped Jon into who he is. Jon’s qualities come more from him than Rhaegar and the tragedy when Jon learns the truth will be that Ned isn’t his real father not him never knowing Rhaegar.

Vocal training: tuning

For all my trans sisters out there who want to train their voice so that they pass, I made this simple audio file that has a piano that plays the top note of the average “female” voice frequency (of 220 Hz or A3) and then at about 2:50 (or a little past half-way through) it starts with the lowest note of the average “female” voice frequency (of 170 Hz or F3).  This is only addressing pitch.  There are tons of other factors that come into play as to whether or not you pass.  Obviously it’s extremely shitty to call any frequency that of a female.  This may only change how people in public generally perceive you.  You are inherently whatever gender you identify as regardless of your vocal qualities.  Anyway, disclaimer aside, try making the “heee” “haaaa” and “hooooo” sounds at the A3 tone - doing each sound for a few seconds, three times each.  And then try to make a conversation with yourself or someone else while the second tone (F3) is playing, trying not to go lower than that pitch.  I’m still working on everything other than pitch and will post more resources if I can make them as I go on in voice training.  Feel free to download it and put it on your computer/ipod/phone to practice wherever!
