Tidus’ shirt and I’M SO PLEASED
So I’m using the final day of Tidus Appreciation Week
to freak out about it, if you also didn’t know about this
pls join me in celebrating this excellent (15 years too late) discovery
Lore of the Inuit peoples claim Labradorite fell from the frozen fire of the Aurora Borealis, an ordinary stone that transforms to the extraordinary, shimmering in a mystical light that separates the waking world from unseen realms. It is, in every sense, a Stone of Magic, a crystal of shamans, diviners, healers, and all who travel and embrace the universe seeking knowledge and guidance. For self-discovery, it is excellent for awakening one’s own awareness of inner spirit, intuition and psychic abilities.
When Lily learns about Remus’ furry little problem and notices how much pain he’s in after the full moon, she asks why he doesn’t take pain potions. He tells her he already has to take Wolfsbane and other things for the rest of his life, and he’s trying to not be dependent on so many potions. She brightens at this, and tells him about this Muggle plant called marijuana (Lily is a Muggleborn in the 70s don’t tell me she never got high). He tries it and it helps tremendously, but he’s worried about getting caught with it and getting in trouble. So, sly Prefect Marauder that he is, he mentions it to Madame Pomfrey, who already knows his opinion on all the potions he has to take. “I read about this Muggle plant, seems like it could help…” She informs him it’s an excellent idea, that Muggles really did great with that medical discovery, and tells him Professor Sprout will grow him some.
So that’s the story of how Remus Lupin got away with having weed. James, Sirius, and Peter vow to never underestimate his Marauding skills. The troublemaker who knows how to avoid getting in trouble.
Excellent scientific discoveries in 2015, including a new hominid species(!), gene editing to eliminate disease in humans(!), and a majority of psychology papers are kinda fuzzy-sciencey… Well worth watching this roundup from the year.
If you aren’t, please turn on Discovery and their excellent, sobering doc, “Racing Extinction,” on man’s utter indifference to their contribution to creating endangered and extinct species, as well as what we can do to turn the tide…
