Here’s some little things I thought about while in target ok (this is purely based off of Jughead in the show Riverdale so these are non-asexual but if u want an asexual one let me know !!!!!)
-Jughead isn’t a super PDA person but you’re literally the equivalent of a baby Koala so he sucks it up and holds your hand in the hallways and let’s you cuddle up to him in a booth at Pop’s
-ok but when u guys are alone Jughead is super affectionate like he’s got himself wrapped around you
- you guys get in disagreements and get a lil hot headed with each other but u guys never ever fight
-except for that one time when Jughead got in to this mode where he literally shut everyone out and only focused on his novel and u had to set that boy straight
-now every time he gets too immersed or you want his attention, all u gotta do is reach over and hover a finger over the screen (“don’t touch it you’ll leave fingerprints”) and he gets the message
- Pop’s every day after school
-you’re literally the most loyal customers
- although when you guys go an an actual date every once in a while, you’ll go bowling or check out a new restaurant or something
- You buy Jughead stuff all the time like clothes and stuff even though he has his own job because sometimes he shows up to school and he’s got holes in his shirt and it irritates you so much
-when you found out Jughead was living in the drive in because of his situation with his father, you went to Archie’s dad and told him, and told him (word by word) “you are part of the reason he doesn’t have a home now, so you better open up your doors for him or I swear to god-”
-and Fred stopped you right there and told you he would
-you would have had him come live with you but your dad wasn’t a huge fan of the idea
-your mom loves him though
-literally loves him to death
-so he’s over at your house all the time
-and Jughead obviously isn’t a big sexual person, like normal “sexy” stuff doesn’t turn him on, like short skirts and crop tops or any of that
-but g o d
-you are like, an actual angel to him
-he could literally stare at you for hours and hours
-one time he spent the night and left one of his shirts and when he came over one morning you hadn’t gotten ready for school yet and you answered the door and
-you were wearing his shirt
-just his shirt
-his palms literally started sweating, like he literally wanted to slam the door shut and take u right against the wall and that was definitely a new feeling for him
-he respects you so much, he literally has so much respect for you
-before you guys got together, you had fallen for the game that the jocks played and after Chuck Clayton had humiliated you publicly when he pretended to ask you to formal you had been put in the playbook as “the freak”
-When Jughead found out he literally decked Chuck Clayton
-literally punched him in the jaw so hard Chuck stumbled and almost fell
-and Jughead ended up walking away with a bloody nose and a busted lip
-and you cleaned him up and yelled at him and told him it wasn’t worth it and he said “of course you’re worth it, you’re always worth it”
-and that was the night u guys got together
-you and Jughead never like think about having sex or doing that kind of stuff because neither of you are really huge on it and you guys just aren’t really sexual people
-your first time is like a hint of awkwardness but just like super natural and stuff and it’s rlly intimate and loving and he holds you all night after
-and he wakes up the next morning and you’ve got his shirt on again
-and the next morning you ride him in the shirt
-Jughead literally supports you with anything, he’s honestly your number one fan
-when you tried out for the river vixens he was there
-when you sang in the talent show he was there
-when you did your first musical gig he was there
-and same with him, like you’re always proofreading his articles for the blue and gold for him and being his helping hand, almost like his test rat for his articles and novel and such
-and he’s got a whole folder full of poems and little journal entries and shit he’s written about you
-he will never admit it though
-you guys are so in love and it’s great bc the both of you would never cheat on each other and lie to each other and you guys just have a really healthy and strong relationship that nothing and nobody could get between
How do you like keeping arboreals as opposed to ground living snakes? Is it a lot harder?
I wouldn’t say it’s necessarily harder; it just has its own set of challenges. Arboreal snakes tend to have different issues come up regarding husbandry and enrichment–for example, when I rescued my Amazon tree boa, the guy who abandoned her said she would never perch and that’s why he didn’t want her (along with the horrible mite infestation she came with).
It turned out she just didn’t like the perches he was providing her and once I gave her something that allowed her more points of contact, she started perching during the day a lot more. Animals seldom do things for no reason and part of being a good keeper is trying to troubleshoot these problems from the animal’s perspective.
Arboreal snakes also tend to behave a little differently in regards to handling. In my experience they tend to be more alert and high strung (this doesn’t necessarily mean aggressive, it might just mean you need to pay more attention to where your fingers are moving around when you handle them to avoid startling them). Treating mites on arboreals can be a bigger ordeal since I’ve found that they’re more susceptible to getting stressed by the bathing process.
I practice what I call “husbandry handling” with my ATB because she’s a slightly nervous animal who prefers not to be handled often–however, I need to be able to do it with as little fuss and stress as possible in case she ever got sick or injured and needed hands-on medical treatment. This basically means I take her out on a regular basis and practice touching gently all over her body in the ways I might need to in order to provide medical assistance, but try to make it as stress-free and short as possible. She prefers to be a hands-off pet, and that’s fine! She’s still pretty chill for an ATB and I’m grateful she’s tolerant of husbandry handling.
Holly, on the other hand, is very laid back and doesn’t mind being handled. I’ve met CBB chondros that were much more nervous and didn’t like handling at all, so this seems to be a matter of individual temperament. She had an infected tooth last year from hitting the tongs and I was able to get in her mouth to treat it with relatively little fuss and stress for her.
This got a lot longer than I meant it to, so I guess the TL;DR version is that keeping arboreals is definitely different, but not necessarily harder if you have the experience and resources to do it properly. I’ve only kept chondros and Amazon tree boas though as far as arboreals go so that’s about all I can speak for.
Request: Jughead has a major crush on the reader, but the reader keeps talking about her crush to the squad and it’s always so cute happy positive impressive things so Jughead thinks it’s Archie. He gets really mad at the reader and asks out Betty, and the reader sees it, but Betty tries to tell him he’s getting it all mixed up and it’s one giant confusion.
I really want a really angst jughead one shot but I don’t know what to request, can you just work your magic? Please?
Warnings: None I don’t think
Word count: 3,327
A/N: Based loosely on the emotions faced in episode 10. Also yikes on the word count but I worked super hard on this one and it’s worth the read I promise.
‘As she sits across the cold stone table on a brisk Friday evening, the boy can’t help but notice the way the moonlight bounces off her hair on the left side of her face. The fluorescent bulbs from up above cast a shadow down her face, making her eyes glow. Those same piercing eyes look up from her romance novel, almost like a prediction of his future, and she can’t tell but the boy’s heartbeat quickens, as in this moment their souls have gotten one inch closer than they were before.’ Jughead writes as he sits across from (Y/N) in Pop’s, working on his novel.
Soo… I saw Rogue One again last night on IMAX. Some random thoughts:
In the bunker while little Jyn waits for someone to get her, in the low glow of the lantern light, you can see her silent tears rolling down her face. At eight, she learned how to cry silently. I imagine that, until she saw her father’s holo on Jedha, from eight until twenty-two, it was the only way she ever cried if she cried at all: alone and without a sound.
I’ve been pronouncing Chirrut’s name wrong for months now. I’ve seen this movie twice before. His name is not a text post. What the hell is wrong with me?
You can see how much Jyn and Saw cared for each other when they reunite on Jedha. There’s a lot of hurt, but also a lot of love that never went away.
The looks on Baze and Bodhi’s faces when they see NiJedha destroyed breaks my heart. You see it pass through their eyes: their home is gone, everyone they ever knew is now dead; incinerated.
I got chills every time Cassian shouted “JYN!” because this guy has no chill and I love it.
Jyn lashes out at Cassian after Eadu because he has lied to her and had intended to kill her father, but it strikes me that the hurt is amplified because up until then, she has trusted him more than she has trusted anyone else in almost a decade. And like in the novel, she doesn’t just feel like he lied to her–many people have lied to her–she feels betrayed because he mattered, and he’s shown that she matters to him somehow, too.
The first time I watched it, I was totally in the uncanny valley with Tarkin. Less so the second time, and this third time, I was like oh yeah, that’s cool, that looks fine.
TARKIN IS TALL. I never noticed this before, but he’s a giant. After we got home from the movie, we put on A New Hope and yep, Tarkin was always super tall, but he looked average sized because he was always standing next to Darth Vader who is a giant.
The lack of personal space, oh my gawd. I mean I noticed it the last two viewings and obviously during all the times I stared moonily into the various gifsets, but seeing it on IMAX, like whoa. They’re six inches away from each other practically every time they speak. One stumble and they’re making out. WHY DID THEY NOT STUMBLE EVER? STUPID SURE-FOOTED REBELS.
Ben Medelsohn nails the look of terror when Krennic meets Vader. By all accounts from the Rogue One press tour, he was legit terrified when he shot those scenes, and it shows, and it’s perfect.
Felicity Jones is fucking amazing in this part and I’m literally the fight me emoji (ง'̀-‘́)ง to all the haters because if all you want is obvious scenery-chewing to represent deep emotion, then get out of my face you clowns.
By the time we get to “welcome home,” Jyn and Cassian are so into each other, like, I cannot even.
Oh, Bodhi. You were key to all of this. Your bravery was the first domino to fall. Without you, none of this would have happened. And then, taking charge on Rogue One. Giving orders. What a change from the shell-shocked, post-Bor Gullet Bodhi on Jedha. Galen would have been proud of you, too.
When Baze smiles my heart melts a little bit and then I die inside because he’ll be dead soon, too.
“Your Father Would Be Proud” kicks in as soon as Cassian saves Jyn from Krennic on the tower, and I was barely holding my shit together right then and there.
THE LOOKS IN THE TURBOLIFT LIKE WTF CAN I JUST FREEZE TIME AND LIVE IN THAT MOMENT FOREVER? OK. THANKS. I THINK I’M PREGNANT NOW?
Jyn and Cassian walking to the beach is like peak handsomeness and beauty. Goddamit, Diego and Felicity. And goddamit, Gareth Edwards, you done good.
THE HUG ON THE BEACH IN IMAX PLZ SEND HELP.
Every single one of them died knowing that they had completed their piece of the mission. Bodhi patched through to the Alliance. Baze and Chirrut turned on the master switch. Kaytoo helped Jyn and Cassian get the data file. Jyn and Cassian successfully transmitted the plans. But none of them never knew for sure if the Alliance got the plans. They’d never know that the Death Star would be destroyed. They’d never know that they were all parts in the sum of the whole. But they all died knowing they gave it everything they had to give.
How to Motivate Yourself When You Just Don’t Feel Like it
I was feeling particularly unmotivated lately—unwilling to
take my own advice, tired from work and cleaning at home, and wanting to use my
weekend simply to relax. So, I decided to do Camp NaNoWriMo the night before it
started. Now we are on day #2 and I’m hoping I can keep up with my daily goals.
I’m sure a lot of you are in the same boat OR you just want
to get back into writing full-force. Here
are a few ways to motivate yourself when you’re just not feeling it:
Why did you
originally start writing?
Ask yourself what you like about writing a novel. I used to
turn to writing as a form of relaxation, so I need to remind myself of that
from time to time. It’s exciting to get lost in your own world and it’s good to
put other responsibilities aside for an hour or two. Try to rediscover your
love of writing or remind yourself why it makes you so happy. Keep it fun!
What are your goals?
I know my goal is to finish this novel by the end of the
month (first draft). I try to visualize myself at the end of the month sitting
on top of something I can be proud of. I know it will need a lot of work, but I’ll
have something I can mess with. I’ll have some fully formed ideas. I try to
keep that in mind when I become unmotivated. I want to finish this story and I
want to have another novel under my belt. Try to remind yourself of your goals.
You can always move
on to something else
If you’re not feeling your story and you’ve been at it for a
long time, you don’t have to continue! A lot of people don’t have that option
when working on a NaNoWriMo project, but you do have the option to take your
story in a new direction. Don’t get stuck on a scene that’s not exciting for
you, move on to something else.
Figure out why you’re
not excited about your story
Most of the time, I realize that I haven’t fleshed out a
scene enough OR I’m just not interested in writing that scene at all. There
will be highs and lows in your novel, but you should be excited about almost
all of the scenes you write. If you’re not, your readers won’t be either.
Pinpoint why a particular scene or character, etc. is not motivating you in any
way and try to find a way to fix it. Change the setting or consider cutting a
Dream cast your novel
This has helped me immensely with my new project. Before
Camp NaNoWriMo started, I casted each character in my head and that’s helped me
flesh out a lot of my story so far. It might sound like a silly idea, but it
can really help you visualize scenes in a clearer way.
jessamine gray (née lovelace) ❝She was almost ridiculously pretty, what one of Tessa’s novels would have called an English rose—all silvery fair hair, soft brown eyes, and creamy complexion. She wore a very bright blue dress, and rings on almost every one of her fingers. If she had the same black skin markings that Will and Charlotte did, they weren’t visible.❞
Northanger Abbey is so underrated like no offense but the heroine of that book is into sports and shenanigans growing up and doesn’t learn anything in school or have any accomplishments or interests until she has a growth spurt, gets hot, and reads so many gothic novels that she almost ruins her relationship w her love interest bc she convinces herself his house is haunted and does an inappropriate ghost hunt.
If you haven't, you should read Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe and More Happy Than Not. those two books are so different but both of the authors' writing style are beautiful and they made me tear up. Pls. Nagmamakaawa ako, basahin mo ;-; soo good
pag may oras na ako huhu pero matagal na nasa reading list ko yung aristotle and dante at grabee gusto ko na basahinn
Summary: After an overall bad day, you call your best friend to rant and to vent. But when you accidentally misdial, you end up talking to a complete stranger. What you don’t know is that this stranger may not be a stranger at all. He may even be the world’s first superhero.
This scene. It’s not only heart-breaking because *ugly sobs comprehensible only by the fandom*. It actually finally gave me something that’s been hinted on but almost never touched upon till season 5.
I liked that in the novel Norman had this third personality, the Boy Norman, let’s put it, born out of childhood traumas and everything. It just explained so perfectly his humbleness and inability to stand up to Mother, his obedience and dread, the impulses to sit by her burying face in her dress as opposed to his harsh resistance and otherwise full awareness of actions he had to take to keep Her a secret. He was just a little boy at times, and mother knew best.
Guys. The lost little boy came home. Norman came home.
