@halleyk7 @jan69love Thank you! Yes, it was really hard to do it– Please don’t think it was made in one go~ I had to spend a whole day in the hospital in a room with nothing to do so that drawing was all I did during those hours haha~ Since the app I was using has a layer function I would draw it once, make a new layer, draw the same thing over the previous one and repeat until it ended up looking like that~ I must have done that x1000000000000000 times ^^u
funny you should ask! school & classes basically hit everyone in the group so progress has slowed to a halt. that’s part of the reason i was rushing into it as a summer thing haha
writing was and still is the most important component to complete– we have a first draft but it needs to be fleshed out & majorly edited, not just narrative-wise or character-wise but how-well-it-works-with-the-medium-wise. my classes started later than everyone else so i was still trying to work on it, but i’d say i only made a second pass over 10% of the total thing.
even now i want to keep working on it but i already have a bunch on my plate, plus with carpal tunnel and all i can’t afford to spend much of my daily allotted hand usage time on it (i have to spend it on homework, and note-taking, and commissions, and other daily use stuff). what im thinkin is that when winter break comes around i’ll really be able to buckle down and work on it– and hopefully the other main writers will be free then too.
part of me is thinking it might be helpful to invite in someone as a dedicated editor to look over the script w a fresh pair of eyes to see where things come together and where they don’t, but i wouldn’t know who to ask.
These characters have arcs, they’re not your typical cartoon characters that just stay the same through the entire show. They grow, they develop, so by the end they become very different from what they started.
What happened with both Keith and Shiro this season is keeping them in the same place. (or like returning them to the same place they started at) that was an odd step backwards for both of them but it’s not gonna stay like that.
Right now we’re still in this power struggle between them, once it’s resolved, Keith will take his rightful spot in the black lion (more willingly) and Shiro will happily give it away to him because he’ll find strength in other things. (Atleast I hope haha)
That seems like the natural arc for these two, and nothing about this season made me think it’s going somewhere else. Just gonna take longer (and maybe alot longer) than I expected.
Again, taking Keith out of black and not making him the leader is something that’s very hard for me to see fans of the original show doing..
Hey, Jolie! This is uwa-so-frisk (though I can't send asks from my side blog) and I just finished chapter 12 of Winter in Your Bones! Thoughts on the chapter are in my comment on AO3 as always, but your mention of offering to explore other parts of this world made me insanely curious to know more about where Sans and Papyrus are living, who from the Underground is there, what their lives are like and how Sans meeting Reader changed all of that. Thank you again so much for writing that story!
lkjasdfl first off, i freaking love your avatar omg X’D
Secondly; where Sans and Pap are living is actually the subject of the first bonus chapter I have planned! So you can look forward to finally finding that out, haha. Actually it’ll probably be two chapters, maybe even three, depending on how things unfold. I originally intended for that all to show up within the story proper… but somehow it just never quite worked out as far as story flow goes. To be fair, though, I was trying to keep things fairly simple for this project, which probably contributed to Reader not going to Sans and Pap’s house sooner.
I had a fantastic birthday. Started it off by listening to The Final Countdown before taking a shot at midnight, haha.
Had a relaxed morning and skated about 20mi (was going to do 30, but the trail was flooded 9.75 miles in and completely impassable - plus we saw a water moccasin and figured it’d be best to turn back. Chilled at home and went over to my parents’ house for my bday dinner. All in all, an A+ day.
Oh, and my mom made a skill gelatin thing! It was yummy coconut flavor and she made (completely phallic looking) meringue bones. :D
“Um, Malfoy,” Harry muttered. “What are you doing?” Baffled, he looked at the Slytherin, who didn’t seem to be concerned at all.
“I’m resting. I’m so tired,” Malfoy mumbled, eyelids fluttering shut. He did sound pretty sleepy. Harry blinked as Malfoy’s lips stretched into a soft, contented smile.
“Okay,” Harry said slowly. “But why are you resting on my lap?”
“Why not?” Malfoy replied. “Seems like a good place to me.”
Harry stiffened as Malfoy turned his head and snuggled into him. What was he playing at?
“Oi, Harry!” Harry looked up. Seamus had just entered the eighth year common room and was grinning at him. “Don’t you two look cosy,” he said with a wink. Harry blushed and tried to move his legs but Malfoy was just too heavy.
“I have no idea what’s going on,” Harry murmured. What had gotten into Malfoy?
“And then we have to get started on Transfiguration but first we have to- Oh!” Hermione stopped dead behind Seamus. Her eyes widened as she took in the sight before her, her studying schedule obviously forgotten. If only momentarily. Ron, who had seemed rather displeased with his girlfriend’s evening plans a second ago, suddenly had a weird glint in his eyes.
Harry watched his friends and was shocked when Hermione clutched her chest and put her other hand on Ron’s arm. He smiled at her and nodded.
“I thought something like this might happen,” he snickered.
“What?” Harry spluttered. When Pansy came into sight, a knowing grin on her face, Harry felt like they were all in on a joke he didn’t get. “Can somebody please tell me what is going on?”
“Shhhhh,” came from Harry’s lap. “Trying to sleep here, remember?”
Harry eyed Malfoy suspiciously. He had to admit, he might have reacted a little differently if they had been alone. It was a bit sudden, but he wasn’t all that opposed to Malfoy lying on his lap.
Harry’s eyes darted to his friends again when Hermione leaned over to Pansy and whispered something to her. Looking exasperated, Pansy nodded. Harry still wasn’t used to the fact that they were all getting along so well now. Pansy could be fun but, still, Harry was a bit wary around her.
He kept his eyes on her as Hermione strode over to him.
“Don’t be mad,” she told him. Harry frowned.
“What did you do?”
“Well…” She looked at him sheepishly. “It’s more what I didn’t do.”
Harry looked at her, puzzled. She leaned closer to him and dropped her voice to a whisper.
“I didn’t stop Pansy, when she stole something from Slughorn’s personal stores and put it into Malfoy’s tea this morning.”
Harry’s frown deepened.
“What did she put in his tea?”
Hermione bit her lip and put a hand on his shoulder.
“We just felt like he deserved a good day for once. He’s been through so much.” She gazed at Malfoy thoughtfully. “That’s not to say you haven’t been having a hard time, either,” she added hastily. “But Pansy thought you might… benefit from it as well. Seems like she was right.”
Harry looked between Malfoy and Hermione, not understanding what she was telling him. It must have shown on his face. Hermione sighed and shook her head.
“Felix Felicis, that’s what Pansy put in his drink.”
Harry’s mouth dropped open.
“That’s why he’s being so weird?”
“You were weird, too, when you took it in sixth year,” Hermione reminded him.
Yeah, Harry mused, it had been a strange experience. He had felt so happy and cheerful, like nothing could go wrong. And, somehow, he had known exactly what he had to do to get… to get what he wanted.
Harry’s eyes darted back to Malfoy, who was still smiling contentedly with his eyes closed. Harry wondered what would have happened if his friends had given him the potion, instead of Malfoy. He doubted things would have been this forward but, maybe, it would have had a similar outcome.
Ignoring the fact that everyone in the room was watching him, he slowly raised his hand and ran his fingers through Malfoy’s hair. The Slytherin let out a long sigh that made the corners of Harry’s mouth twitch.
As he sat there, stroking Malfoy’s hair and marvelling at the fluttery feeling in his stomach, Harry thought it was lucky he and Malfoy apparently wanted the same thing.
“Home” was officially released as part of the Perfect EP, and is a fan-supported single on One Direction’s fifth studio album, Made in the A.M. It was written by Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne, and Jamie Scott.
