other ya novels: my entire life has led up to this moment, i have to rise to the challenge and sacrifice my own happiness for the Greater Good. hey ho, my convenient band of morally sound yet somewhat two-dimensional side-kicks, i will save the world.
six of crows: yeah, so i have taken on this batshit crazy job because i’ve been promised big $$ for it. we might very well all get killed, but i’ve been dead inside since the age of 11 anyhow lol. no risk no fun. anyhow, there’s an impregnable prison complex waiting for us.
Someone: have you heard [insert cool band who makes good music name here]’s stuff?
Me: no and I’d die before I ever did. But – have you heard this overproduced pop garbage from 2005? Life changing stuff
When will people understand that if you're not a nasty solo harrie who thinks Harry hates the band and is too good for them /we aren't talking about you/. "I don't do that and I'm a harrie!" Cool then you're not who anyone is talking about
In my rock and roll days and despite the fact that we weren’t very good our band attracted groupies. Hell, I remember being amazed at this even at the time but it was the seventies and groupies were a cultural phenomenon of the era.
There were two kinds of groupies. The first were the “collectors”. These girls ran in groups and their aim was to date musicians. As many musicians as they could. They were generally brazen, confident and aggressive. They would brag about the bands they had been with. Bands a lot more famous than our band which included just about every other band in the world. They knew exactly what they wanted and usually took no abuse from the guys.
The second were the solitary girls. These girls were shy believe it or not. They wanted to hang out with the band and realized that the one thing they had to offer a group of young guys to accomplish this was sex. Often they seemed fragile and without self-confidence. They didn’t wear the skimpy rock and roller fashions. They would hang out around the corner of the stage watching a guy play and then hesitantly approach after the set. These girls were vulnerable and often taken advantage of either by the band or the crew. The collector girls looked down on them. I always worried about these girls.
Do you listen to music? If so what type/artist/favorite songs?
Oh yes I do! I listen to music daily, usually I stick to contemporary Christian music (worship, praise etc.) even older dated types too!
Favorite artists or bands would be: Hillsong Worship, Kari Jobe, Elevation Worship, New Life Worship, Jeremy Camp, Audrey Assad, NEEDTOBREATHE, Switchfoot, Jon Foreman (Lead Singer of Switchfoot), Matt Redman, BarlowGirl, Lauren Daigle, Vertical Church Band, Matt Maher, Hillary Scott, Francesca Battistelli, Colton Dixon, MercyMe, Casting Crowns, Britt Nicole, Third Day, Hillsong United, Bethel Music, I Am They, Disciple etc. (You get my point ;) ) haha
And honestly any song by those artists/bands are really good!
