A Critique of a Poisoning in Literature: A Song of Ice and Fire’s Purple Wedding.
An analysis of Joffrey Baratheon’s poisoning in George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire: the chemical compound used, its effects, method of application and onset in comparison to a hypothetical real-life counterpart: strychnine, and the author’s justifications for suggesting this equivalent. Posting for those who said they were interested, a piece of coursework I wrote for a pharmacology poisons module / the university’s English literature department. I wrote this in the first year of my degree ( 2+ years ago now! ) so don’t expect a lot from my writing/analytical skills !!!

“I like to change my hair, I like to take risks with how I dress, I like girls, and I like guys (yes), I like growing, I like learning, I like who I am and I really like who I’m becoming. Spent way too many years hating myself, thinking I was less valuable because I was different… which is just untrue. A couple years ago I was able to accept myself, and it saved my life, but now I’ve gotten to a new road block and I feel kind of lost. I gotta take the next step and actually embrace who I am, which is pretty exciting. Not faking shit anymore, not apologizing for falling in love with people no matter their gender. I’ve become bored of being insecure, ashamed, scared… no one should feel like that about themselves, especially when there is so much good life to live. Ya know more and more I see so many young people being their best / truest selves, it’s fucking inspiring… so what have I been waiting for!? Who knows. Everyone in their own time. I hope we can all learn to embrace who we are and not judge people who aren’t exactly the same as us. The truth is we are all family, we’re all one. Just love.”
means “arrow”, which on the surface is obvious enough, but it doesn’t refer to archery arrows, it refers to directional arrows, like
← , ↑ , → , ↓, etc.! Like the ones used to indicate vectors in mathematical diagrams.
Like in simple geometry.
THIS NERDY, NERDYMAN MANAGED TO INCORPORATE A MATH PUN IN HIS BADASS CYBERNINJA SKIN
Being an autistic who passes as a neurotypical feels like being a war spy with a well-kept secret…one infiltrating a foreign country with a culture you, although understanding it, still find it somewhat strange.
I guess you can call it
