this has to be my all time favourite song

📢LISTEN 📢 UP📢 ARMYS📢 HERE ARE 23 UNDERRATED  RAP MONSTER TRACKS THAT YOU SHOULD ABSOLUTELY CHECK OUT

*there are way more namjoon tracks but this list was getting too long* *just peep his mixtape and soundcloud*

1. Rap Monster by Rap Monster

This is Namjoon’s take on “look at me now” by Chris Brown and a.k.a the first ever song to be represented by Bangtan Sonyeondan as it was the first ever track on BTS’s official soundcloud.

This is an introduction to Rap Monster as an artist and a lit track. This shit was a bop!

2. Too much by Rap Monster

This song is extremely meaningful and Namjoon’s voice sounds breathtaking. This was Namjoon’s reflection of the B-free incident. He mentions how he shouldn’t take B-free’s hate to his heart and not to over think criticism. In the beginning he sounds really hurt but omg towards the end he is going hard, and it gives me old school rap vibes.

3. Unpack your bags by Rap Monster

This song is a huge middle finger to the underground rap community who looks down on idol rappers. This was a collab with the show 4 things where he mentions how hard it was him to pursue hip hop. He mentioned 4 struggles he faced in the industry. Check out the episode, the show also shows how he interacts with his producers and Bang PDnim and this was where the really famous “ Solo, or Bangtan” moment was born. We really got to know Namjoon as an artist personally and his teenage days. This is complimented with a really cute music video.

4. P.D.D (Please Don’t Die) by Rap Monster

This is a track where he collabed with Warren G  prior to his mixtape in L.A and this gives me chills because of that prominent West Coast feel. Check out the MV and the naver behind the scenes.

5. Something by Rap Monster (a.k.a my all time favourite song I don’t know why tbh)

HOLY SHIT THIS SONG TAKES ME WAY BACK! I feel as if nowadays the producers really autotune Namjoon’s singing voice and make it really shaky but hear you can prominently really hear his singing skills and It is such a sexy love song. It really gives your romantic feels and reflects on a sad teenage love story.

6. Where u At by Rap Monster

THIS IS SUCH A MEANINGFUL SONG.

Here we have high school Namjoon talking about how school has gotten the best of him. In a culture where education and status are everything, he talks about letting his parents down and confessing to his relatives about his future in Hip-Hop. Its an extremely relatable track where you think about where you want to head in the future.

7. Favourite Girl by Rap Monster

This is such a cute fuckboy song omg Namjoon’s voice is so cute in this. Young love amirite.

But I have a secret meme with this song. In 6th grade I accidentally blasted this and my teacher started singing along to it since the chorus is in english and ever since my friends have been taunting me with this song.

8. Monterlude by Rap Monster

The instrumental to this was included in the Skool Luv Affair album. This is in english and this is such a cute love song. Namjoon would spoil his girlfriend omg.

9. Promethus by Yankie feat Rap Monster

Namjoon teamed up with some popular K-rappers and his verse in this made my pussy drop BUT EVERYONE IN THIS SONG DID SO AMAZING THIS IS SUCH A TURNT SONG I WAS JAMMING TOO HARD

This song is based off of the seven sins and Namjoon plays lust..ofc.

He uses some sick korean wordplay.

10. Bucku Bucku by MFBTY feat Rap Monster

MFBTY are already korean hip hop legends and the fact that such “old” and wise rappers decided to have Namjoon feature is an honor.

He also had a little role in another one of their mvs here

11.   PRIMARY (프라이머리) - U (Feat. Kwon Jin Ah 권진아, Rap Monster 랩

This song is really relaxing and I love Primary’s beats and Kwon Jin Ah’s soothing voice, But Namjoon’s soothing rap was so sexy. It was just so hot omg.

12. Awakening by Rap Monster from his mixtape

This song was from his mixtape which you absolutely need to check out and I suggest you see his other music videos such as the legendary Do You  and Joke.

This song was extremely powerful and eye opening. Just ready the lyrics and you will know why.

“In  the moment of my failure
will someone hold my hand?
in the moment when I come down from the stage
will that person be next to me?
just tell me that I can survive
in this cold world, just feel my vibe
every night inside me I quietly fight with myself
my heart pounds, my colleagues stab me in the back
while saying that I became a moron after joining a company
yeah fuck you I’m an idol, yeah yeah I’m an idol
at one time I hated it but now I love to get that title”

13. I believe by Rap Monster

Extremely uplifting and it brings you a huge amount of self-confidence, its a self-loving song and its a self reminder to always believe in yourself no matter how much you fall. Also has a little appearance from Jimin.

14. God Rap By Rap Monster

This song talks about Namjoon being an athiest but also has a message for believers. It talks about controlling your own life and to be your own idol. It says how you have the power of god in you and how you are extraordinary.

15. Throw Away by Rap Monster

HOLY CRAP THIS SONG IS EXTREMELY LIT
THIS IS SUCH A BOP
OMG THIS ALWAYS HAS ME JUMPING
CHECK OUT THE LIVE TOO

“got an automatic dick”

16. Rush by Rap Monster feat Krizz Kaliko also from his mixtape

Funny story this is how they got together and created this lit korean meets american rap track.

Namjoon goes really hard in this, check it out!

17. Drifting by Rap Monster also from his Mixtape

This song has a theme that goes with “Reflection” and “Always”, He says how his thoughts are drifting and how feels lost (almost like the track lost in wings). Its put you in a trance where you, yourself starts to think about where you are in life and what purpose you have.

18. Life by Rap Monster from his mixtape

This song got me tripping because Namjoon is a lyrical genius. The amount of questions this song got me saying is insane. Just read.

“ the little me inside myself was always lonely
why is there no opposite word of loneliness?
could it be because people, until they die, have no moments of not being lonely?
it’s necessary to seek a moment to be alone
yeah that’s a life
we live inside danger
through the reward that makes us able to see this beautiful world “

were we born to die, were we born to live
are we living to die, or are we dying to live
the nametag with my name on it, is that my life?
or is it death

who knows…

life, fall in love
life receives injuries from us and
is lonely because of the wind and
we wanna be right
but always wrong
were we born to be wrong?
is life something like that?
(in the end, for our whole lives we don’t know what tomorrow will be)”

19. Monster by Rap Monster from his mixtape

“R TO THE M IMMA MOTHERFUCKING MONSTER”

20. Joke. (you should probably know this)

I really did’nt want to include this because his 2 most famous tracks are Do you and Joke and I wanted to keep this list to the underrated but tbvh I was really surprised when I figured out that people don’t know this track.

HONESTLY IF YOU TELL ME NAMJOON DOESNT HAVE RAP FLOW OR CANT RAP FAST WATCH THIS FUCKING VIDEO>

In this track he said how he is mocking rappers who only have good flow but no sense of meaningful lyrics.

The lyrics in this song make no sense but the rap flow is too damn good. WHEN WATCHING THIS YOU WILL BE LIKE HONEY PLEASE BREATHE. HE RAPS SO FAST.

PLEASE LISTEN TO THIS MASTERPIECE> HE GOES SO HARD HE TRUELY IS A MONSTER

21. DO YOU BY RAP MONSTER ( (you should also probably know this)

In this track he talks about how at a young age society tells us what to be, how to look, what to wear, how to behave. He says fuck whatever they say and just do you.

I heard that fantastic four was shit but Namjoon got a chance to do a song for a movie which is a big deal for bangtan so WHOO

23. Illest Bitch

A really cute confession from Namjoon going through Puberty

Ok but Save Yourself I’ll Hold Them Back is an amazing song. Like, this is one where I forget how fucking good it is until I listen to it or see some lyrics from it. It has some of my favourite lyrics of all time in ONE SONG.

“It ain’t about all the friends you made But the graffiti they write on your grave”

“This ain’t a room full of suicides We’re believers, I believe tonight”

THE ENTIRE CHORUS IS JUST AHHH

“Who gives a damn if we lose the war Let the walls come down Let the engines roar”

It’s one of those songs that actually makes me feel hopeful, and -for me- embodies the entire spirit of Danger Days. It makes me feel that one day I’ll be okay. Danger Days is about starting to live again, letting yourself be happy. Bright colours, running as fast as you can with your lungs burning in the best way, loud music that keeps you sane, singing along with your friends, laughing until it hurts, rollercoasters and sour sweets

But it’s also about sometimes having negative emotions, and it being normal to be sad or scared or angry. That’s what the whole thing with bli is- the fight to be emotional and human.

And thus ends my rant on another mcr song.

  • People: What's your favourite Beauty and the Beast song? *smiles* Probably "Beauty and the Beast"? Or maybe "Bonjour"? No, I know, it has to be "Be Our Guest"!
  • What I say: Oh, I can't possibly choose, I love them all!
  • Meanwhile, inside my head: SO IT'S TIME TO TAKE SOME ACTION, BOYS, IT'S TIME TO FOLLOW MEEEEEEEEE! THROUGH THE MIST, THROUGH THE WOOD, THROUGH THE DARKNESS AND THE SHADOWS, IT'S A NIGHTMARE BUT IT'S ONE EXCITING RIIIIDE! SAY A PRAYER, THEN WE'RE THERE, AT THE DRAWBRIDGE OF A CASTLE AND THERE'S SOMETHING TRULY TERRIBLE INSIDE!

I’m still in complete awe over Wake Me Up. I knew B.A.P tended to make their songs focus on important issues which I’ve always admired them for, but this is a whole new level to me because it focuses on mental health issues, as well as revolutions and unable to be heard by others when you have a voice to express yourself. Not to mention the variety of people starring in this, from various racial backgrounds, ages, genders, etc. It’s just so powerful to me and I admire them so much for this. This is more than a song, more than a video. This has the ability to touch so many fans and people. I feel as though, seeing this video, people won’t feel alone in the hardships the video portrayed. This is so powerful.

Well…. I’m crying.

No I’m sobbing.

Why?

Well, I’m sobbing because of art.

And the art that caused me to be in this pitiful is none other than ‘Spring Day’ by BTS.

'Spring Day’ is easily my favourite comeback so far.

After all, it is the most honest, sincere and beautiful piece they have released.

The song is just so pure, so heart wrenching. The production is fantastic and their voices….

Many people say that BTS does not have good vocalists because they cannot hit a lot of super high notes. True, if a voice has all the falsettos in the world in is nothing without emotion. And emotion is something that BTS can deliver not to 100 % but rather to an infinite amount. Their voices carry pain, longing and sincerity.

Now why am I mentioning sincerity so many times? Well, an artist without having sincerity is a writer with no pen or paper or any method of writing. Sincerity is essential, it is what captures the attention of the listener because it allows the reader to be able to relate. Even if the listener cannot relate he or she might want to retry to understand.

Spring Day achieves just that. After all, the song is honest and so is BTS. These are emotions all feel. These are the emotions that remind us that we too are humans.

And the music video, of the music video fits so well! The MV creates the feeling that this is not simply an MV, but rather is a coming of age movie, meant to showcase, pain, longing, confusion but also hope.

The shots of the, passing each other, only to at some points get together feel so sad, so painful and interestingly beaver when they are together for me, although there is a lighter feeling it still feels like something is still missing for them. Because they still keep running and they indeed are cut of by the train carrying Jungkook himself.

But at least they are together. At least they no longer have to suffer alone but can share the burdens that they have. They are each others ‘light’

The MV also allows for so much interpretation from the first watch.

One might take them as a random choice. However, the clothes could also mean that they have let their old selves go. They could mean the they feel worthless, like they can be  called ‘dirty’ at any moment and discarded. Or they could mean that they have washed there ‘stains’, their pain.

The scenes at the staircase and at the carousel when they seem unable to find each other can be seen as painful as them losing each other.

Or it could be that they still haven’t found the others yet.

Maybe, there are all in front each other…Maybe they haven’t looked properly.

The train with Kookie that passes BTS could mean that Jungkook is leaving the past behind…

Or he could simply be going forward, not yet knowing of the people he will get to meet, the same people who are in the same compartment as him.

And the shoes that hand from the tree… are they can mean death, the murder of their own selves.

But they could also mean that BTS has exchanged their pain for appreciating and loving themselves. Because they are no longer alone. No, this time they have each other. And so they are letting their old selves die in hopes for a better future them to be born.

And more interpretations can be made. They just depend on how people feel at the moments and what they want to believe. I like the idea that they simply search for each other, but that proves difficult at first cause they do not know exactly whom they are searching for. I like to believe that this MV is a look, a battle for the future. But I also love reading others interpretations.

And that is what this song and music video.

So thank you BTS, for once again getting out of you comfort zone and creating this masterpiece.

Thank you for bringing us all together.

Thank you for creating powerful music that speaks to all.

But also there are other people that deserve to be thanked.

People who sit silently and work endlessly to make this happen. Thank you to all the staff and the crew. Thank you to all those who helped make this happen, whether you are the MV director, or the person bringing the brush to the make up people.Because these people are too a huge reason why we have these MVs.

Thank you to all those that help with the creation of the songs.

Thank you to all whom advertise these boys, to all whom support them.

And thank you to my fellow ARMYs, who no matter what shit we get from others, continue to support these boys.

[TRANS] NONNO MAGAZINE

1. ways that you spend your days off

JIMIN: hobbies that I do are billiards, bowling and playing computer games all together at a house with friends. when we play, it’s different who wins, but it’s certain that I do the worst no matter what

SUGA: when it’s vacation time, I try to do things that people say are ordinary (to do). It’s important to me to go to a cafe alone or meet up with friends or just a casual every day routine. because it’s a vacation, I think it’s important to spend it relaxing, rather than planning to do something special

V: I listen to several types of music, regardless of genre… classic, jazz, opera, R&B, hip hop, EDM. right now my favourite is especially Hisaishi Joe’s ‘Summer’. dadadadan~(starts to sing) I want to listen to piano performance live one day

JIN: because Jungkook said that he’s going to learn the drums in his free time on the world tour, I started to play guitar too. but since he can’t carry the drum set around with him on tour, in the end it was just me who kept practicing from bringing the guitar (laughs) I play our songs like spring day and butterfly. one day I want to show it on stage

JHOPE: recently, my hobby is collecting figurines. nowadays, things that i’ve been collecting is called “deck of skate boards”. since there are a lot of colourful designs, it’s nice just looking that them. sadly there’s no way to ride them outside

RM: the thing that I’m consumes with right now is learning Japanese. I’m watching the drama “late night restaurants” as it’s easy to understand the dialogue. getting in touch with nature is one thing that is a way of changing the mood. I go for  a walk in a park that’s close by or if i have time I go far until I reach the sea.

JK: recently, I enjoy playing FPS games. I spend about 3~4 hours every day playing so time flies in that moment (laughs) and I always listen to music. I listen to exciting music like future bass but more than that I like melodies that make my mind become calm and the and the quietness of the quite sad atmosphere.

2. favourite fashion and things in fashion you always uphold

JIMIN: once I find a fashion that I think is good, I’ll buy clothes similar to that for several months. right now I like simple fashion, such as shirts with slacks and white shirts and denim (jeans?). since I haven’t decided what fashion to do this summer…. I think I should shop and and think carefully because once I start to buy things, I tend to buy a lot of it (laughs)

SUGA: rather than having a lot of different types of clothing, I rather have an attachment to things I like and use them for a long time. I think that after debut, I’ve worn thousands of clothing that are expensive that are my preference. since I want to be a person hat looks special even just wearing ordinary things, I choose to wear simple clothes. other than that, because I don’t like to show my skin, I wear long sleeves in the summer too

V: the item I wear most often is shirts. I have several shirts that go from simple to unusual print designs. I like the Boston bag too that I bought from New York in spring. I will use it carefully!

JIN: I like neat and simple fashion. when I go to places where a lot of people see me, I try to wear as many things that I received as gifts as possible. because I think if i were them, i’d feel really happy to see precious person wearing something that I gave to them

JHOPE: I try to do styles that express me well, that are not too easy going, and not too loud either. I plan to deliver a fashion that looks cool this summer. but I haven’t been shopping since I purchased a street brand fur jacket last winter…

RM: I pick clothes that are a good style whilst having a comfortable feeling. I didn’t have confidence in my style since I didnt dress well skinny but after debuting everyone told me that my legs are pretty and long, so I challenged it. the person out of the members that dresses well, if it’s not me (laughs), is JHOPE. he’s good at matching items.

JK: I like big shapes (silhouette) like parkas, and I like the colour black. I wear similar clothes in the summer too. the genre is different but I think that RM and JHOPE dress cool

3. favourite scents?

JIMIN: the scent of flowers and meat is cooking. because I like the smell of nature more, I don’t really wear perfumes well. I currently use the scent of a diffuser that’s refreshing. but J-HOPE who is my roommate, prefers scents like this more than me

SUGA: I like perfumes that have a sweet smell but I don’t use just one kind of perfume since I only wear it occasionally, depending on the mood of that day. I like to drink coffee, when I smell the scent of it my mind becomes relaxed. coffee is like a substitute for water to me.

V: in many cases I select a refreshing scent or a scent that I relax to. I use several types to match the mood or fashion

JIN: I use sweet perfumes that linger softly. if I were to give an example, the soft feeling is like the texture of candy floss. but the smell isn’t candy floss itself (laughs)

JHOPE: since i’m very sensitive to smells, it’s only natural that I spray perfume. before I got to bed, I use a diffuser all the time that’s in our room with the sweet smell of body lotion. from our vacation in hawaii in april, i bought kona coffee powder but i tried using it as quadrant substitute

RM: smell of natural fabric softener. and I spoke with jungkook, and the smell of Japan buildings (laughs) especially the airport. when we got here we all said together “we’ve arrived in Japan!”

JK: the smell of green or the wind when spring arrives. one day in spring, I listened to music and rode a bike down the river together with RM and V, so when the distinctive air of spring arrives I feel happy and excited because of that day

4. Japanese movies, dramas, manga etc that have stuck in your memory?

JIMIN: I have seen almost all well-known manga and anime. recently I bought the novel “between calmness and passion” at the bookstore. I look forward to reading it!

SUGA: The best manga throughout my life is slam dunk! I must’ve read it over a hundred times since I read my favourite ones repeatedly. when I was young, most of the things that I watched were Japanese anime

V: recently I’ve watched all of 'we married as a job’! I like the scene where the protagonist gives a hug to the other guy who she has a marriage contract with, on every Tuesday. I remember seeing the male actor in somewhere else, I was surprised to find out that he was Hoshino Gen, an artist that I listen to often on a average day. I love the song 'every day life’ the most. I’m also practicing the love dance from the ending of the drama

JIN: I like Japanese anime’s a lot so when I was a trainee I watched one piece or bleach every week. recently I’ve been obsessed with the manga about high school volleyball called haikyuu, so I read that often

JHOPE: I really like Otsaku Ai’s 'Sakuranbo’. I listen to YUI’s song often too.

RM: I listen yo AK-69 or KOHH, Sakamoto Ryuichi, Yuhki Kuramoto’s music. I like movies that are directed by Hirokazu Koreeda. I became captivated by his calm outlook on the world that he films. If his movies screen in korea, I will certainly go.

JK: I like Japanese anime’s, I’m currently watching the same one as Jin too, haikyuu. and it’s helping me learn Japanese too!

“It’s dangerous to go alone! Take this.”

Hi, everyone! If you’re like me and you love a good game soundtrack or a great playlist of all sorts of game music, this is the masterpost for you. I’m one of those people who studies better with some music in the background, and what better way of making a study session more enjoyable than by listening to the soundtrack of your favourite game?

Why listen to music while you study?

Multiple studies have proven that certain students who listen to music while they study perform better academically. Unfortunately, it’s not for everyone, so you should really figure out if this is the right method for you before commiting yourself to it! The main arguement for studying with music is that research has proved that listening to classical music in particular helps the brain absorb more information and also helps stimulate one’s thinking!

On the other hand, some people tend to lose all concentration when there’s any music or noise in the background, which leads to procrastination and lower productivity. In short, if you can’t concentrate on the task at hand and get distracted easily, this isn’t the best method for you!

Playlists

I started actively looking for playlists with game music about two years ago and instantly fell in love. There are so many good playlists of various lengths and genres that are accessable on platforms like spotify, 8tracks, youtube, etc. All of the playlists include the tracklist in the description below them!

Note: I won’t be adding any playlists from 8tracks because they only work in the US and Canada.

i. General

Game music for studying: Some of you might have already heard of these videos before. They’re roughly an hour and a half long and include some of the more calming tracks from a lot of different games. All the names of the tracks are listed in the description below, which is super handy if you want to find out which game it’s from! I thought I’d put in the playlist of all of them so you can just press play and enjoy!

Video game music! 2.0: Probably the longest playlist you’ll find anywhere. a n y w h e r e. 223 hours of amazingness that you’ll never regret!

ii. Calming/ relaxing

5 hours of atmospheric game music: This is one of my personal favourites. It’s very long so you don’t have to worry about looking for another playlist when this one finishes.

Relaxing video game music: Another gem! Once again with all the tracks in the description. This one’s great for shorter study sessions since it’s only and hour long.

More relaxing  video game music: If the previous playlist was too short for you, check out this 3 hour one! I used this one a lot last year!

Calming Nintendo music: A super great playlist for all you Nintendo fans! It includes some really nice tracks from the Legend of Zelda series, if you’re into those soundtracks!

Jesper Kyd playlist: Ever since I first played Assassin’s Creed 2, I’ve loved Jesper Kyd’s work. This is quite a long playlist including some of his best tracks from various games. My favourites are towards the end!

Relaxing Legend of Zelda music: You had to see this one coming. The LoZ series has some of the best soundtracks to study to (, in my opinion,) and some of the prettiest and most calming tracks. I highly recommend this 42 minute playlist for those times when you just don’t feel like working.

2 hours of sleepy video game music: This is also a little series of playlists. There are 4 of these videos in total, which adds up to 8 hours of sweet, sweet music.

iii. Epic/ badass

Epic video game music: For all of you who need a little badass music in the background! 2.5 hours of epic and awe inspiring music to really get some work done!

Focus - video game music: Spotify has some really great playlists, so I thought I’d include a few! This playlist is a little more epic and loud, but if that’s the mindset you really need to push through, this would be great for you. It’s an amazing 11 hours long so you’ll never run out.

Orchestral video game music: Another epic playlist, including the occasional lullaby. This is a 7 hour long playlist, so a little shorter than the previous one, but by no means less epic and badass!

Soundtracks

Compared to the playlists, soundtracks tend to be a mix of epic and calming music. Most games have their perilous moments and their I’m-so-relieved-I-managed-to-beat-that-boss-with-only-one-heart-left moments. The world of video games is vast, so I’ve selected a few of my favourite soundtracks to share with you instead of listing all of the ones I can find.

Legend of Zelda - Skyward Sword: One of my favourite all time games! The soundtrack is long too, so you don’t have to worry about looking for a new one afterwards.

Legend of Zelda - Ocarina of Time: This game is widely believed to have the best soundtrack in video game history. All I can say is so sit down, gather your work and to just enjoy.

Final Fantasy VI: This 1994 gem has an avarage playtime of 65-70 hours. The game has such a good storyline and the soundtrack is a little old school with a lot of non-orchestral tracks. I’d still recommend this to everyone who likes an older style of video game.

Suikoden Tierkreis: I have memories of me just going to the overworld map so I could listen to the music. It’s that good.

Bioshock Infinite: I’ve only ever played the first in the series, but I watched a walkthrough of this particular game and I loved it so much! The music is slightly creepy and loud sometimes but it’s a really great soundtrack overall.

The Last of Us: Another game I’ve never actually played, but the walkthrough was amazing. The soundtrack is very atmospheric and doesn’t have a lot of loud parts, so it’s generally calm.

Assassin’s creed 2: My all-time favourite game ever. As you know from before, I think Jesper Kyd is amazing, so putting these two elements together makes a truly great game. The soundtrack is actually quite well known because a few of it’s most popular tracks are featured a lot in other playlists. E.g. Dreams in Venice and The Madam

The Elder Scrolls V - Skyrim: I’ve listened to this one a few times and I think it’s really good! It starts off quite strong but it has a lot of calmer songs too.

Fable 2: The Fable series is well-known for being short, so the soundtrack is also on the shorter side. I know the dialogue in the game almost by heart and I can guarantee you that there’s a lot of atmospheric music in this soundtrack.

Fragile: This one was recommended to me by a friend on tumblr years ago. It has really sweet songs and has a lot of piano centered tracks.

Now get to work!

I hope I’ve helped you find the perfect game music to accompany you while you study! If you have any recommendations, feel free to send me a message! I’m always up to discovering new playlists/ soundtracks.

“You’ll always be my lily of the lamplight. My own dear Roderich.”

Lily of the Lamplight has got to be my favourite George deValier fic. A scene in Chapter 1, where Gilbert sees Roderich in Berlin for the first time. I was listening to Vera Lynn songs this entire time my heart hurts.

I tried to incorporate everything I learnt from last term’s classes– Mainly focal points and controlling values and hues. Most of all it’s nice to be able to paint stuff that you feel moved by. :)

A Secret Sessioner Stories

I reseived a few messages from a person who attended a REP Secret session.
So here their story what Tay said about some of the songs.

Regarding Don’t Blame Me, Taylor said she was exploring the idea of religion and love, and told us that she’s not a very religious person… which kind of implies that the reason would be because her love is not approved in the bible???

She said that Getaway Car is about rebounds, so basically she’s in the getaway car from an ex, where she meets the rebound, and also that she loved the idea of crimes and Bonnie and Clyde for that song

About King Of My Heart she was talking about all the times she’s been in love before, and that compared to what she has now, she wasn’t even 30% in love with them, and you don’t realise that until you’re truly in love

Dancing With Our Hands Tied is quite self explanatory, but she confirmed that it’s about loving someone when you can’t, but you’re dancing with them anyway (this track is Scott Swifts favourite)

I don’t think she actually talked much about Dress, but as she was putting it on looking down at her phone (as opposed to looking us in the eyes) she said quietly “it’s a sexy song”

When we got to Call It What You Want and New Year’s Day, she said all the other songs were from some point during the break, but these were how she’s feeling right now and how happy she is

My favourite song is music critics from publications that that traditionally turn their noses up at Taylor and dismiss her as a vapid popstar recognising that she is an all-time great songwriter and has amassed an incredible back catalogue of songs that she has written at a young age. Respect motherfucking craft when you hear it, indeed.

Hiiii tay, my names crystal and I’m 19 years old from Australia 🇦🇺 the top photo is me in 2013 and the bottom one is 2017, you’ve seen me in every possible awkward stage in my life and to allow myself to be whoever I needed to be at the time is something I’ll never be able to thank you enough for! you have absolutely no clue in the world that I exist but I have been absolutely mesmerised and inspired by you for a whole 9 years! Over these 9 years you have been my complete source of strength in a number of ways and just when I’ve thought that there’s no way I could overcome something you’ve given me a reason to!

First of all I’d like to start off with the fact that I am the #1 last kiss stan. That song is by far THE most painful, heartbreaking, hauntingly beautiful song that has ever blessed my ears. Yes I cry EVERY time I listen to it, yes it reminds me of all the love I’ve lost and will lose in the coming years yet everytime I come back to that song and listen to it over and over again! I know it’s strange that a song that makes me so incredibly sad is my absolute favourite but I’ve never had a song that has emotionally impacted me that much and made me feel that much there is no way I could possibly love anything more than that song

Secondly I’ve been around for almost every album release including the last three and I just KNOW this one is completely different. You are much closer to us than you ever have been and it’s the reason I am able to continue each day with a smile on my face, the fact that you love and care about us, AS MUCH as we love and care about you is just so insane? How are you YOU, I’ll never understand or comprehend how we are so lucky and blessed to be on this earth at the same time as you!

Thirdly, 4 years ago you released a song called treacherous that included the lyrics “nothing safe is worth the drive”. Now I wish there were words strong enough to explain what those 6 words have meant and done for me over the last 4 years. I am a person INCREDIBLY scared of change, it makes me anxious and nervous and feel like I’m not in control. Over the past four years I have struggled with change immensely, I’ve graduated high school started university, fallen in love and out and have always fell back on those words to keep me going. Those six words are the reason I wake up every morning and know I’m going to go to sleep at night and do the same thing the next day. They have allowed me to embrace and accept change and to reap all of its rewards. Because of those lyrics I’m able to do things I would never dream of doing out of fear of it not working out. thankyou for those words which I hope one day to personally get on my body (hopefully written by you) that have saved my life in more ways than one

I’ve had the pleasure of being in your presence four times in concert and I hope the feeling I get every single time I’m there is something I can keep experiencing for as long as I possibly can. PLEASE come back to Australia so soon, we miss you immensely

Until we finally meet in person @taylorswift

All my love, crystal 💗

My favourite thing about 60s batman is that every time a villain hears the batmobile coming, the theme song plays softly, but gets louder and louder, as if it’s canon that the batmobile has the batman theme song playing tremendously loud at all times

Singin’ In The Rain is one of my all time favourite movies. For the best danser ever, Gene Kelly, and the cult danse scenes alongside Donald O’Connor, the funny script and lines, the beautiful songs and everything that makes this movie unique. The story is still very actual even though the movie came out in 1953. No musical movie that was done since then has ever reached the same level.

This gif accurately represents the way this film hit me like a brick. I wasn’t expecting to love it as much as I do.  I’ve watched it far too many times, all the songs are on repeat 24/7 and I literally sit for hours just watching cast interviews.

Anyone else in this boat with me?

Can anyone else relate to this painful love that I’ve developed for the film?

Growing up, the cartoon was my favourite film, and so when i heard that there was going to be remake, I was slightly iffy about it, worried they might just butcher something so dear to me.

But holy fuck, this movie has overtaken my life.

Inktober 2017, Day 1 - Swift

“All that Syrio Forel had taught her went racing through her head. Swift as a deer. Quiet as shadow. Fear cuts deeper than swords. Quick as a snake. Calm as still water. Fear cuts deeper than swords. Strong as a bear. Fierce as a wolverine. Fear cuts deeper than swords. The man who fears losing has already lost. Fear cuts deeper than swords. Fear cuts deeper than swords. Fear cuts deeper than swords.”

Arya Stark is my all-time favourite! I hope you enjoy it :)

Graham Coxon's speech at the Ivor Novello Awards :

“This award is a bit premature for him, but he’s written about two lifetimes of work so far. The first time I saw him, he was shouting ‘I’ve got a social disease’ in a school as he gave a very energetic performance in a school assembly. I thought ‘this boy’s got some nerve’. He told me that I had crap shoes, but as you can see I got my own back today.

The second time he met me, he told me as the only sax player in school to play a sax solo. So I did, it was a good little song called ‘when you meet a beautiful alien’. At this point, I’d never met anybody at the age of 13 to even attempt to write a song - but writing songs always seemed to come naturally to him. But that’s not to say that he doesn’t have a good work ethic. He’s very disciplined, and he doesn’t take it all for granted.

Our friendship and working relationship has been a bit like a pot plant - well, y'know a house plant. They need to be re-potted from time to time, and there’s always a certain amount of anxiety concerning whether it will wither and die, but it never has and I think that house plant is doing pretty well right now.

He has written some of my favourite songs, and what’s great about that is that I got to play on a lot of them. They always display the mischief of a mind that isn’t interested in what’s expected, but sees music and the world in general as something to process and use, and nothing is wasted. There you go, that’s one of yours isn’t it?

He is my really talented, horrifyingly honest, embarrassingly honest and ridiculously funny (although he doesn’t always mean to be) best mate - Damon Albarn.”

So a long and somewhat awkward post but today is World Mental Health Day.
I’ve suffered with anorexia, depression and anxiety for the past 7 years, resulting in being admitted inpatient 5 times.
I’ve missed out on a lot because of my eating disorder. I was supposed to see @taylorswift on Speak Now tour when I was first inpatient in 2011. I was there for 3 months and had got my mum to bring in my Taylor CDs to listen to. On a particularly bad night for me there was a nurse sat in my room, she was flicking through my CDs and started talking about how much she loved @taylorswift and how she’d just been to the Speak Now tour. I was flooded with envy and heartbreak. I was supposed to be there, I was supposed to be crying over finally seeing Taylor for the first time and dancing to my favourite songs, I could picture it all so well, but instead I was crying over meal times and being fed through a tube. This was when it truly hit me how much I’d been missing out on and how much I’d continue to miss out on.
The fearless quote has always meant a lot to me. I remember the day Fearless album was released and mum had driven me to pick a copy up in store and I came home and listened to it on repeat all night, uncovering all the hidden messages and reading the fearless quote on the last page. This was pre-eating disorder me but something about the fearless quote meant so much to me, is always liked the idea of being fearless. When I was in hospital that time my cousin had made me a bracelet saying “fearless” and i wore it every day. It was a constant reminder that my life was worth living.
I’d finally got to see @taylorswift live in Wembley stadium for Summertime Ball. I was able to do that. I’d camped out for 2 days in a tent outside the gate because I was able to do that, I wasn’t stuck within hospital walls. I was able to cry and dance along to my favourite songs.
Coming up to my Red tour date I was in a particularly bad place and was hospitalised again but i soon got out because I couldn’t miss this.
I’d given up on ever hearing my favourite song Fearless live. I knew I’d never hear it and I’d come to terms with that. But I was at Red tour on 1st February 2014 and it happened. She sang fearless and I was a mess. I was seated in the skies and there was thousands of people but somehow I felt like the only person in the room, I felt like it was for me.
The following weekend I got the fearless quote tattooed on my arm as a constant reminder of how special that day was and as a reminder that I am the fearless girl I dreamt of being. Every time I’m in a bad place I look down at my arm and I’m reminded of how it felt to be at that concert after missing out before and for a few minutes I’m content and at peace because in my head I’m back at that concert and I’m reminded that my life is worth living, despite my doubts and fears, keep fighting.
So @taylorswift thank you. Thank you for teaching me to be fearless and sticking by me all these years.
