this has been made before i think

i hate saying this, but Rick was just trying to avoid a harmful stereotype that many of his readers expressed after Nico's whole coming out (they thought bc he "had a crush" on Annabeth that his sexuality was like a cop-out) and it's a HORRIBLE stereotype. my own sister thinks that im bi because "none of the guys at my school have asked me to homecoming" and i'm willing to bet tons of other kids have families who think that too. So Rick made a lesbian couple with less a chance of being hated on.

People have said this before but the best way to avoid a bad stereotype isn’t to just avoid making the character a lesbian or bi (that’s lazy). The only way to avoid making a character a bad stereotype is to subvert it (For example, he could’ve had Reyna say ‘oh I don’t think my attraction to guys has ever been real’ or ‘oh I’m attracted to more than one gender because I’m bi’). If he thinks Reyna’s straight then fine whatever, I disagree but oh well it’s not the first time, but he should’ve left the whole stereotype nonsense out of it. As I said though many people have already said this, so please actually read the posts that you see.

I’ve read some posts about intergenerational trauma lately and it made me think about my family and the city a was raised in. Little spoiler: neither part of my family lived here before I was born. But it has not helped the cause.

All my life I’ve been living in Saint-Petersburg, Russian Federation. (Little note here, that I personally don’t see why it’s so common to call this country “Russia”, that I’m a bit afraid to say “RF” in english. Like people won’t even understand what I’m speaking of. It’s Federation guys, we shouldn’t forget about this fact just because our goverment is shitty enough for it not to be noticable).

So, it’s so-called Hero City, which is city’s equivalent to the highest insignia individual could have been reawrded with back in the Soviet days. In this case it was earned by one of the greatest human tragedies country suffered during the whole war. The city was completely cut off from all land access and the only contact with the outer world was a vulnerable waterway across the Lake Ladoga. It was later called Road of Life. There were no electricity, water or heating. The Siege lasted for 872 days and during all this time citizens were freezing and starving to death and the city was constantly bombarded. Over one million of people died during that time.

CANCER: Lately it seems like everywhere you look there’s another promise shattering at your feet and you can’t even think about cleaning it up yet because that makes it official. That makes it irreparable. You want to hang onto the person you were when these pacts were made, when you still believed that the people you loved were incapable of hurting you. I know it’s difficult to accept that the summer night buzzing with cicadas in your chest is going to fade to autumn, and then to winter. But sometimes you need to let things die in order to try again, and that doesn’t mean you’re giving up. It means that you’re choosing yourself over the shards at your feet.

LEO: It’s terrible that no matter the length of time that you manage to hold onto something beautiful, it always takes twice that amount of time to forget about it. It’s been weeks since your heart was ripped from your chest and you’re still dreaming nightly about icicles and dark movie theaters and other things that can’t stay. I know that this is something you’ve heard before and have refused to believe, but you deserve people that don’t leave. You deserve people that know what to do with everything that you give them. You deserve more than what you think you do.

VIRGO: You’re starting to wonder if you really made the right decision, all of those months ago. Forgetting the love that you buried under an unmarked gravestone has been more difficult than you thought it would be, even with your cement-infused heart. How long has it been since you’ve washed your mirror? You should know better than anybody that trying to evaluate yourself under a sheen of dirt is next to impossible. It’s okay to go back through the photo albums just like it’s okay to discard anything that makes you feel as though you’re trying to run through quicksand. Choose for yourself.

LIBRA: There’s a big part of you that wants to climb atop the nearest mountain and scream until your voice gives out. Scream until your efforts make a difference. Scream until your family decides to let you make your own choices. Scream until the world notices you. Scream until something, anything, works out. I don’t blame you for feeling angry or upset, or as though you’ve been shorted happiness that you deserved to get back. Things haven’t been working out but you need to remember that it isn’t your fault. It isn’t always your fault. Don’t bottle up your frustrations.

SCORPIO: You’ve brushed so much under the rug that it’s become noticeable. There’s now a lump to avoid in the center of your floor and the only thing left to do is confront it. But it’s been so long since you’ve let yourself ruminate on the cobwebs in your memory that you’re scared to acknowledge the spiders that made them. There’s no telling what’s waiting for you, and putting it off is so much easier, I know. You’re so much stronger than you think you are, though. You survived the mess its first time around and you’ll survive it throughout its victory lap. The house will feel so much safer once you get this done.

SAGITTARIUS: The best and worst days of your life tangle up so often that you’re beginning to wonder if they’re secret lovers. It seems like you can only ever be rewarded after something is taken away, like your happiness is a set of scales that somebody with a bad sense of humor is in charge of regulating. The fact that you manage to prosper despite these odds is a reason to be proud of yourself each and every day. I know that you don’t hear this too often, but I mean it when I say that you’re doing incredibly well despite the moonless nights you’ve had to endure. Don’t be afraid to let joy run rampant in your life. She’s kind.

CAPRICORN: The future feels like an avalanche that’s barreling towards you without any sign of slowing down and lately laying down in front of it has been looking like a better and better option. I know that it’s discouraging to see people younger than you are putting their life together without an instruction manual, but it’s okay to not know how everything is supposed to connect yet. You have so much time to determine who you want to be, and where you want to be it. Anybody that pushes you to think faster isn’t worth the effort to think about them. Stand tall when the storm hits, you’ll be surprised by how much you can handle.

AQUARIUS: It’s difficult to mask your impatience when it comes to personal reinvention. You’ve been waiting for so long to feel this free and susceptible to the world, you want your skin to pick up its pace: shed and regrow into something that feels more like a home and less like a body. You’re forgetting that everything meaningful takes time to reach its zenith. You know, you deserve something that doesn’t bite back when you try to feed it. And this time the universe is actually attempting to give you that. Good things are here, embrace them.

PISCES: You’ve been feeling more grateful than ever for the experiences you’ve had and the people that you’ve met, and I’m so happy that you’ve been feeling that type of light. Too often you’ve found yourself in situations not worth remembering and with people not worth your friendship, but not now. It’s okay to let your guard down, to bask in the rays of what you’ve sown. It’s improbable to believe that you will never again feel the wound of sadness, but it’s okay to live as though you won’t. You’re allowed to be happy about what you have.

ARIES: You’ve never felt this free before. It’s almost as if the past few years were all just leading up to this current era of your life. With all of this change I know that it can be difficult to decide what you should keep in your life versus what you should discard, but you have to trust yourself and your instincts. It may be easy to prioritize the happiness of those around you but prioritizing yourself should always come first. If something is causing you great stress, you’re allowed to get rid of it. You’re allowed to do what’s best for you.

TAURUS: Lately the past has been digging into you like a shovel to the earth and you’re tired of waking up with new reasons to remember what you’ve been trying to forget. The good news is that these incoming negative thoughts are no longer a cruel surprise. The bad news is that these incoming negative thoughts are no longer a cruel surprise. Sure, the distance between you and the last person you gave a piece of yourself to might be endlessly fluctuating and uncertain in its boundaries, but that doesn’t mean its grip is powerful enough to stop someone like you from thriving. Go on a road trip. Control your own space. Tell yourself that it’s okay to let go of what’s already let go of you.

GEMINI: You’ve been finding yourself on your own a lot more than usual and this isn’t something you’ve been coping with in the healthiest of ways. It doesn’t seem fair that you always have to wonder about your expiration date, about how long it’ll take for people to deem you rotten and toss you in the trash. I don’t want to lie and say that this will definitely be the last time that you lose someone you believed to be permanent, because it most likely won’t be. But I can assure you, the people that are capable of meshing with your vibrant personality will know how to stick around. You don’t have to worry about being alone forever.
An Update

Hey everyone. Gonna throw in some real talk here.

For the last few months I had lost health insurance that had kept me medicated and stable over the years. Due to having to switch insurance in California, it took a lot longer than expected to get approved, get an appointment, and finally get said medication.

During this lapse, my life kinda fell apart. I lost the urge to do anything. I stopped talking to a lot of my close friends. Drawing or anything productive seemed completely out of my reach. I didn’t take care of myself well, and was procrastinating on commissions and obligations with friends.

It has been some of the worst months of my life, but I tried to hide it from my friends and followers to keep this blog from becoming too much of a personal one. For that, I apologize.

But, things have finally turned around today. I just started medicating again, and I feel better than I had felt since before I left. I feel motivated again. I could finally draw something without thinking it was a pointless endeavor. It was a bit emotional I guess.

But to summarize: After months of struggling, I feel like myself again. And that means I finally can work on things I had put off for months on end.

‘The End’ is back in development. Commissions are going to get done. And comics will be made. To everyone who has been patient with these long lapses in updates, and to friends who have been encouraging me to keep going, thank you.

I’ll see you all very soon.

Mikasa meets the cruel world: Attack on Titan in a nutshell

More intelligent people than me have probably pointed this out long before me, but it still amazes me how much Mikasa’s upbringing truly is a metaphor for the entire series.

We start of with this carefree, peaceful family living in this isolated cabin in the woods, distanced from the outside. A comfortable existence, but their family is well aware that beyond their warm home lie problems: the Ackerman clan is still thought to be prosecuted, and Asians are sought by traffickers for their rare appearance and blood–they’re a different race, and this is useful to some.

And then one peace is interrupted: three men break in, destroying comfort and killing innocent people, and they’re there solemnly because of the physical aspects of the family, their rare appearance. Through this experience, Mikasa lost her hope and will to live, and also got to understand the cruel nature of the world she lived in.

And then, a sudden event that changed the course of that day. The young Eren Jaeger barges in, takes out the oppressive intruders, and most importantly, restores hope to her. Just like the kidnappers, Eren came from outside of her world…but instead of bringing her more cruelty, Eren brought Mikasa a way to go against said cruelty–to fight back. The world is cruel and brutal and it crushes the weak–thus, the only way to survive is to fight back against the oppression–and that’s what Mikasa proceeds to do.

This precise event can be translated with total accuracy into the entirety of the story–it’s the exact same thing the walled world went through. The walldians lived in peace and comfort (more or less), isolated from the rest of the world, because the outside meant danger for them. We’ve always known this danger to be the titans–the basement taught us the reality though. The entire outside world has a pre-determined relationship with the walldians–not because of who, but because of what they are. Some see them as danger and want them extinct for safety measures, some see them as useful tools for their own purposes.

Does this sound familiar? Ackermans are prosecuted because they’re a danger to the kings rule, and Asians are sought after because their origin makes them different. Mikasa’s family is a metaphor for all walldians, for all those wanted dead by the world or used as weapons in Marley’s titan army. Their situation is identical too: they live excluded from the outside world, in a pseudo-peace, which is one day interrupted by the arrival of three outsiders (kidnappers, RBA). Through their actions, those outsiders remind the inhabitants of the cruel, oppressive world they find themselves in (a grim reminder). And then, another outsider appears, restoring hope and teaching the oppressed how to free themselves: to fight. This is Eren when he barges into the cabin, and Grisha, originally from beyond the walls. when he entrusts the founding and attack titans to Eren, who would later become humanities hope and, in some way, inspires them to fight back. Both of these stories are perfect parallels.

It’s also definitely not a coincidence that the Eren-saves-Mikasa flashback was included in Isayama’s first draft of chapter 1, in flashback format. All the dialogue about Mikasa being part of a nearly extinct, different race, and Eren telling her to fight back, were there from day one. In the present time she even says that she believes Eren has the strength to overcome the world’s issues and bring hope to mankind–an even stronger parallel between her situation and all of walldia.

Heck, it certainly isn’t a coincidence either that, during ch 14, primordial desire, aka humanities first ever victory against oppression and the first climax of the story, Eren flashes back to that very moment

On one hand it sets up other humans, aka Marley as antagonists, who’re oppressing Paradis due to the blood flowing through its inhabitants. At the same time, it redraws all the parallels mentioned beforehand by straight up comparing humanities struggle to that struggle in the woods.

These two panels really affirm everything I mentioned above–Mikasa’s “origin story” is it’s own microcosm that foretells the entire core struggle of the series: Eldians seeking freedom from oppression. And the fact that such an early scene remains a total metaphor to the story even 90 chapters and a ton of plot twists and revelations later, just goes to show how much of a thought out story attack on titan has been for the longest time.

So….I don’t know if anyone else has talked about this, but I think that Keith’s father left him. And though it is long, here is why:

When Keith hears his father’s voice, he’s shocked, but not completely horrified. The first words he says aren’t “I thought you were dead!” or anything similar, but instead

He even has the chance to ask how he might be alive (or like…anything similar) or what he’s doing there, but instead he goes right to, “What’s going on outside?” because that matters more to Keith than what his dad is doing back in their shack. And then his dad says:

“Don’t you want to catch up?” is not something you tell somebody when you’ve died, but when you’ve gone away for a while.

Keith’s response is “Of course I do,” but look at his expression. He doesn’t get it- and of course he wants to know what his dad has been doing, but he’s still confused and cautious.

Now, we already know that what these holograms do is pair Keith’s greatest hopes with his greatest fears.

We’ve also seen it before- it showed him Shiro, but hologram Shiro told Keith that he should give up the knife, and that choosing to find out his own past was selfish. That doesn’t stop Keith, though: “I’ve made my choice.” He doesn’t care if Shiro thinks he’s being selfish. What Shiro says and does next, though, is what makes him stop:

And then Shiro starts to walk away. Only then does Keith actually stop. Only then does Keith decide that maybe it isn’t worth it. Keith actually calls out to Shiro, and then starts to run after him.

You can tell from his expression, and from the fact that he literally runs after Shiro to stop him that Keith is desperate. Why?

Because one of Keith’s greatest fears is being left by the ones closest to him.

Why would this be one of his greatest fears?

Because it has happened before.

He follows Shiro and finds himself standing in front of the door that another person he cared for walked out of.

And once again, one of his greatest hopes is paired with one of his greatest fears. He wants to know about his past- that’s one of his hopes, but why would his father be the one to show him that, unless

One of his greatest hopes is that his father will come back.

This also makes the line, “Don’t you want to catch up?” and the fact that Keith doesn’t even ask why his father is back even more important. This is a scenario plucked from Keith’s mind: it’s a fantasy. He doesn’t necessarily want to know why his father might be back- there doesn’t have to be a reason. He just wants him back, anyway.

His other greatest fear, though, is that the Galra will come to Earth, and destroy it. In the end, the Earth matters more to Keith than his own father and past do, and maybe part of that is because he knows that his father didn’t care enough about him to stay.

Keith still hesitates, though.

Walking out that door means turning his back on his father, and what he thinks might be the last chance he has to know anything about his past. But he walks out anyway.

He looks his father in the eye as he says this. He doesn’t apologize, he doesn’t justify himself, he just says goodbye and leaves. That doesn’t strike me as the farewell somebody who was close with his father would give them as they walk out. And look at his expression? He’s not sorry. Maybe he’s hurt and torn, but more importantly, resolved. He is leaving, and his father will not stop him.

And also- neither of them acted like they were particularly close, either. There were no reunion hugs, and the only one who even smiled was Keith’s father (albeit somewhat creepily, but that’s irrelevant). And Keith wants to see his father again, but that doesn’t mean he would be happy if it happened. They didn’t part on good terms, however it may have happened.

TLDR: Keith’s father didn’t die, but left Keith many years ago- and because of that, one of his greatest fears is that Shiro, the only other person he’s become very close to, will do the same.

  • Lance, walking up, eyes downcast: ...
  • Keith: Babe, what's wrong?
  • Lance, still not meeting his eye: You were red
  • Keith: ... Are we seriously doing this again
  • Lance: And you liked me cause I was blue
  • Keith: Lance for the last time
  • Lance: And you touched me and suddenly I was a lilac sky
  • Keith: Why am I with you
  • Lance, looking away, a tear in his eye: And you decided purple, just wasn't for you
  • Keith: I am literally galra!

A quick sketch of an AU I’ve been thinking of.  This is what I have so far.

  1. Marco meets a girl he’s never seen before at his school and they become close friends.
  2. The girl introduces herself as Star Butterfly after pointing to the star on her wand and a butterfly that passes by.
  3. They always hang out around sunset on campus.
  4. He invites her to hang out with him at his place but she always say’s she has something to do.
  5. He thinks its cute that she holds a hand made wand and acts like she has magic.
  6. He thinks it’s just her personality till one day she “casts” a spell and an object nearby him moves.
  7. She starts moving things around them more often and he starts to believe that this girl really knows magic.
  8. Reality hits and more clues reveal a different story.
  9. “Star Butterfly” isn’t a student at their school but “was” a student.
  10. “Star Butterfly” isn’t a girl from another dimension but someone lost in time and space.
  11. “Star Butterfly” is actually a lost spirit stuck in her own world, during the time in which she died.
  12. Death is still unknown.
  13. “Star Butterfly” doesn’t know that she’s dead and is always stuck in the loop that she “has something to do.”

YUP! THAT’S IT! NOW TO FALL BACK INTO THE STRESS MACHINE AND SURVIVE THE REST OF THE WEEK!

Things I found amusing/interesting in the newest Camp Camp episode:

  • Gwen’s tiny “oh dear lord no”
  • David scolding Max for saying “you’ve gotta be shitting me” but completely ignoring his “who the fuck is that?”
  • “What’s with the cult leader get-up?”
  • Max looking befuddled, bewildered, and a tad uncertain when he realized David has been telling Daniel all about him.
  • “I’mma stop you right there.”
  • “oh my fuck”
  • Max has apparently made cult jokes before and I don’t think anyone was surprised by this knowledge.
  • “Hey, David? “Yes, Nikki?” “WAKE UP AND SMELL THE KOOL-AID”
  • “You built a sauna?” “THAT IS NOT THE WORD TO FOCUS ON DAVID”
  • The Quartermaster eating rat poison like it’s candy
  • Neil asking for Max’s help and Max immediately stopping to confront Daniel
  • David’s tactics with Max changing from ‘get involved Max! it could be fun!’ to ‘I know it can be scary to try these things, but give it a shot!’
  • David knowing Max doesn’t love things, to the point that he almost latched onto him as a way of reminding himself that not everyone likes Daniel.
  • Max literally throwing himself into the void to prove a point is interesting all on its own tbh.
  • Max and Neil didn’t join in on the song, so I’m just imagining them standing side by side by the table, grinning.
  • Daniel wiggling his eyebrows
  • “Oh, wait.”

anonymous asked:

What do you think were the best nalu moments in this arc so far?

Hmm~ This is a good question!  I had to go back quite far for this one, but I think you’ll like it!  It’s gonna be a long answer, so let’s get started!

First off, we have Natsu coming back from his year long training session:

I mean, in the entirety of chapter 418 we see just how much Lucy misses Natsu (and Happy too of course), but in this page, you can see how happy she is that he’s back.  She looks almost relieved (not that she wasn’t thriving on her own, but she had a hole in her heart).  Natsu looks ecstatic to see Lucy (we even get a little blush).

Moving on to chapter 419 (don’t worry, I won’t be going through every chapter like this lmao) but OH MY GOD LOOK.  Natsu had no idea how hard Lucy was working and how broken she was losing Aquarius, everyone, and HIM all at once.  I think this is where he truly understood her pain whether he knew all the details or not.

Also, how can we forget how “first chapter” this page is.  It’s almost like Lucy can’t believe it.  He’s back and so is Fairy Tail.

Here, it’s pretty clear that Natsu has learned how much him leaving as well hurt her.  I think this is v important for their relationship…  Which they still have yet to “resolve” though I don’t think Natsu leaving was entirely “selfish”.

I think here Natsu is trying to gain Lucy’s trust again.  To prove himself to her, and honestly I believe that this scene is very intimate between them and the way their relationship is.  Not so much romantically, but their trust in each other.

We also get a LOT of scenes of both Natsu and Lucy reacting like this to one another…

Hmmm…

Okay, okay I know, I’m nitpicking everything- HOW CAN I PICK JUST A FEW FAVORITES??  But alright, I’m going to get into general, overarching moments that I think are the best and really love!

There is A LOT under this break and there are also spoilers of the latest chapters!!  Please read with caution :)

Please Spread This Around, Nazi Defender in the Pokemon Community

I genuinely don’t like spreading this stuff, but I haven’t seen ANYONE else talk about this and I need to get it out there before younger people in the Pokemon community think its okay.

Recently due to the events of Charlottesville, a popular Pokemon Youtuber by the name of Verlisify has been discovered to be defending Nazis and White supremacists on Twitter.

In this video, ( https://youtu.be/pWnAzeiD_Vo ) made by DuncanKneeDeep, you can see evidence of Verlisify defending Nazis and the like on his Twitter, stating how people defend the “not all Muslims” statement in reference to how the majority of Muslims are NOT terrorists, to how people attack the “not all Nazis” statement, basically claiming not all Nazis are extremists, but they are. Nazis ARE extremists, they want a 100% white country and with that the ERADICATION of every other race, sexuality, religion, and gender identity that does not fit their criteria.

I am here to spread the video and warn people about what this man has said and agrees with.

Please, if you are subbed to this man, unsub to him, unfollow his Twitter, BLOCK it need be.
Make sure your younger siblings and cousins and anybody impressionable are not subbed or following this man. We do not need more people agreeing with these ideals.

And I BEG OF YOU, spread this around, reblog it, spread the video link above EVERYWHERE.
We need to protect the younger children and ourselves from these horrible, disgraceful ideals.

I’m making this post because he is a huge Youtuber in the POKEMON community, which is a MASSIVE community comprised of mostly children. I do not want children who only came to see Pokemon develop the thoughts that it’s okay to kill everyone that is different from you.

I’m not making this to doxx him or witch hunt him, that is not the intention of this post.
It’s to bring awareness to this and protect everyone from a Nazi defender.

Please spread this, please. Even if you don’t like Pokemon. Think about the children who do and might watch this man.

Season 4, the case of the missing Watson, and why BBC John doesn’t love Sherlock

So yesterday I was reading @silentauroriamthereal‘s Best of Three, again (it’s a really good story!). And I realised that the John in that story is pretty much a total dick. He’s incredibly patronising and self-congratulatory about being such a wonderful friend to Sherlock etc etc etc, all the while being actually unimaginably cruel to Sherlock.

And I left a comment to the effect that I loved the story but hated John, and she very kindly replied that she thought it was pretty in character and I had this absolute oh my god moment because she’s bloody right, isn’t she?

And somewhere between Season 4 and Best of Three and SilentAuror’s comment, I think the scales sort of fell from my eyes with regards to John and the show. It’s not that Season 4 ruined John. Season 4 was the logical continuation of where they had taken the character, arguably from the second episode. Go back and look at the way John talks about and treats Sherlock, all the way back to TBB. Try to reconcile the way John talks to and about Sherlock with the way Watson talks to and about Holmes.

Season 4 John is not out of character. Not for BBC John. It’s extreme, but it’s not actually out of character. We think it is, but I think that we have good reason for that. In my specific case, I knew and loved the canon long before BBC Sherlock came on the scene. I know Watson, and I know how he feels about Holmes. So when John acted the way he did in Season 4, I thought it was awful, and terrible, and it came as a shock to me. Before Season 4, when John acted in ways that Watson would not have, I was like “well, maybe he’s just having a bad day’, but Season 4 made me realise that Watson hasn’t been having bad days, Watson has never been here at all.

We think that John is better and wiser and kinder than he is because we spend more time with the wiser, kinder versions of John Watson that we see in the canon and in fanfiction. We’ve been blinded by those Watsons to the truth of John’s character in the show.

And that leads me to another conclusion. BBC’s John doesn’t love Sherlock. We think he does, because Watson loves Holmes, and whether you think that it’s platonic or romantic or sexual or whatever, you can’t deny that there is love there, but John? He doesn’t love Sherlock.

I think he wants Sherlock. I think he’s addicted to Sherlock. To the cases and the life they lead and the danger and all of it. And I think that, like any addict, he hates Sherlock and everything that comes with him, and hates that he needs him. And that’s why the morgue scene happens. Because John, unlike practically every other Watson in history, does not love Sherlock Holmes. Because John wishes that he had never met him and wishes that he could live without him, and knows that as long as Sherlock is alive, he will never, ever be able to leave him for good.

Which means that yes, they really did do TPLoSH all over again, with a gay Holmes desperately in love with Watson, who doesn’t love him back. Except they dialled it up to 11, because everything has to be bigger and louder and hurt more, and instead of a straight Watson who still loves his Holmes, they have given us a John Watson of ambiguous sexuality who not only does not love Sherlock, but actively despises him.

(I also have some thoughts about how Sherlock has been moving toward becoming Holmes over the course of the series, while John moves further and further away from being Watson, but I’ll save that for another time.)

I was thinking about all those “humans are weird” posts going around and one idea I had (which has probably been done before but whatever) is that I wonder what aliens would think about humans’ tendency to try to rescue dangerous animals.
Like, I’ve seen so many videos of people carefully maneuvering themselves to not get mauled by some giant wolf or something they’re trying to free from a trap, and it made me think how BEWILDERING that might be for an alien and what POSSIBLE conclusion they would come to about our survival instincts if we make a habit of putting life and limb on the line to rescue apex predators that often are Actually trying to kill us WHILE we’re helping them
