Heathers Week: Day 2- Favourite AU/Headcannon

JD power ranger jokes aside my favourite Headcannons are probably just LGBT Heathers ones (boring I know but I love it) so here’s what I think and you can disagree or whatever

Heather Macnamara- Lesbian

I think a lot of people think this especially Mcnamawyer and Chandlmara shippers. I’ve honestly saw very few people disagree with the fact that Mac likes girls, it’s basically a fact, and it’s the only reason I’m gonna watch the reboot.

Heather Chandler- Lesbian

I used the musical gif specifically because I’m still debating what I think about movie Chandler. I would say a lot of people agree because on movie night every time she came on stage, the whole chat just said “gay”. Like come on she had no reason to be like that with Veronica in Beautiful if she’s straight.

Veronica Sawyer- Bisexual

Once again I think like the entire fandom agrees (I’m so basic). She has to be attracted to chandler, like who isn’t? and holding hands with Mac at the end is adorable, but she obviously had feelings for JD and finds guys attractive so ayyy Bisexual Veronica. I also think movie Veronica is bi, like the cute little head rest thing with mac is cute and she like fucked JD in a car so.

Heather Duke- Aromantic Asexual

I used movie duke because I don’t have the same opinion on musical duke. I haven’t saw a lot of this but maybe that’s just ‘cause I haven’t went looking. I know I joke about Duke’s “oh shit I’m gay” moment after Veronica kisses her cheek but in all honesty I can’t see duke being in a relationship, or wanting to be in one for that matter. Dude she just wants to take over Chandler, be a bitch and rule the school in peace, she doesn’t need some other person taking up her time.

Betty Finn- Asexual Lesbian

Finally sweet, sweet, under appreciated Betty Finn, gay, gay, adorable Betty Finn. I love her and idk why but I think she’s gay af and totally has a crush on Veronica but I also think she’s ace because I do so whatever.

This was far longer than intended, feel free to give me your opinions on this or other characters.

  • Freeform: releases Malec sneak peeks
  • Malec fandom: "wtf freeform stop releasing the Malec scenes we want to be surprised we don't want anything spoiled for us"
  • Freeform: releases 2b trailer and doesn't put any Malec in it
  • Malec fandom: "omg freeform hates Malec they didn't put any Malec scenes in the trailer fuck freeform"
Guess what: this is never going to convince you guys, because bibros are the close-minded, fun-sucking, self-righteous, circle-jerking Republican equivalents of the Supernatural fandom, who think they hold the Supernatural Bible in their grubby little fists and for some reason think it’s their jobs to defend thirty-something-year-old rich white men from the nonexistent threat that is benign shipping on The Internet, and this is obviously bait. But guess what, motherfucker, I’m a giant destiheller barracuda and I’m FUCKIN TAKIN IT.

Has anyone talked about Ivy in this scene yet? Because I think we should

Like, initially I thought it was weird she was there in the first place but kind of justified it because she’s been with Oswald the whole time so I guess it makes sense? But really, Oswald only needed to bring Freeze with him cause all he wanted to do was make an icicle out of Ed and Ivy doesn’t offer anything to this scene but moody glances. I can’t really wrap my head around why she’s here other than the fact that she is there for Oswald as moral support 90% of the time (they’re such best friends and it’s my favorite thing). And obviously it’s not a ‘lets bring the entire freakshow crew to witness this’ thing because Firefly isn’t there, (but really, where is Firefly? Did she decide she’d done her part and went home??).

But besides being there for Oswald I think she was more there for herself. From the moment she and Oswald had scenes together and they introduced her perfume I, like most of the fandom, theorized that she would see the relationship between the two men (similar to the whole Selina and Bruce thing ‘are you guys dating?’) and she’d use the perfume to get Ed to confess his real feelings. But that didn’t happen (not that I was all that surprised, this is Gotham after all), but her perfume wasn’t even used after that one episode- but that is an entirely different thing that still bugs me and I’m getting off subject now.

Ivy and Os bonded because they had the shared experience of being bullied and having bad interactions with other people. So Ivy being here in this moment, watching Oswald stand in front of the man who shot him, and having no fear as he turns the tables and gets his revenge, is huge for her. She’s not only watching Oswald becoming triumphant, she’s seeing that it’s possible for her to stand up to abusers or bullies and win. And I really like that.

Whether you make another blog or not, I'd be more than happy to follow both of them. I love your work and I think you should do what makes you happy! We all have to leave the UT fandom at some point, right?

That’s sweet of u anon. But I need to stop u there with the last part. I don’t know why exactly some of u guys keep thinking that I’m leaving UT fandom for some reason. (I literally drew UT not so long ago-) Or that I should. I’ve never left any fandom in my entire life. If I did, UT obviously isn’t going to be one. Undertale helped me a lot. I don’t want to always focus on the bad sides. So instead I want to appreciate it for how it effected me and helped me. I made some really awesome friends here.. I believe in them c’: tho if u want to leave for some reason I can’t do anything about it. We have different ways of thinking.

matt stans really do have the biggest victim complexes ever. “let me love matt in peace”. no one’s telling you that you can’t love matt? saying your entire fandom doesn’t have bad apples does nothing because obviously you guys do have a fuckin problem in your little subfandom? you guys have racists in here. you may not do what “the other matt stans” are doing and you may not even be like “those other matt stans” but jesus at least try to acknowledge that there’s a reason the white boy with three lines and no personality that isn’t taken from established characters (2 of which are poc) is so well loved. fanon matt is flirtatious, a jokester, uses humor to mask how he’s feeling, troubled, kind. all of those are from lance. people want matt to take over as black paladin instead of allura who makes 1000% more sense to be bp over matt “i sure love them peas, dad” holt.

you’re not doing poc, especially latinxs and mentally ill/disabled folks, bc this racism was heavily targeted at lance and shiro, any favors by telling everyone to calm down and not make things into such an issue. telling people to delete racist anons or “trolls” and telling them not to be offended so you don’t have to think of this? well guess what just because you guys are having fun and shit doesn’t mean that poc have to deal with this shit in silence because it’s ruining your good time with your fave tertiary white boy.

hell even i loved the occasional matt posts and messing around and thinking about what he could be like and what he could bring to the team. but this matt love and appreciation would not be this big if he was not a boy or white and it doesnt mean you love him any less for acknowledging this and acknowledging the problems that are clearly present rn

I get i have privilege, i dont try to act entitled, i dont want to speak for you i just want to understand. yet this fandom will always generalise and make /jimin hates white people/ jokes and join kill all whites group chats and act like its all relaxed fun and games. “

how are u going to write an entire 2 paragraphs talking about how you arent entitled or racist when the fact u obviously dont understand what racism or entitlement shows from the very fact u wrote this ask in the first place.

This Supernatural Vs Beliebers thing is AMAZING

[EDIT: I added a picture of the tweet for those who don’t know exactly what it says.]

This is amazing. I’m GLAD that Beiber and his little minions are pissed off. And I’m GLAD that they decided to do this stupid little boycott protesty thing. And I’m GLAD that Supernatural fans are pissed off over this. Because you know what?

SO IS EVERYONE ELSE.

This one little tweet has sparked a movement–no, A REVOLUTION–with all people around the world everywhere who has EVER been a fan of ANYTHING EVER. This is truly amazing.
Sure, people are in more than one fandom. Sure, people have friends from other fandoms. Sure, we support other fandoms because we’re respectful like that.

But this is different.

This is a revolution in itself.

Because for the first time EVER, EVERY SINGLE FANDOM IN THE WORLD APART FROM THE BELIEBERS IS UNITED. Everyone is coming together, putting aside their differences and prejudice and grudges to stand up for and protect ONE SINGLE MEASLY LITTLE FANDOM, that is NOTHING in size compared to the world’s population. But that’s okay. Because all those other people who AREN’T in the Supernattural fandom are STILL on their side. So what if some of us aren’t fangirls of them? So what if we don’t quite understand the plot? So what if we don’t know that the show’s even about? So what if some of us have never even HEARD of Supernatural? SO WHAT?!? WE ARE STILL UNITED AS ONE!

THIS is what it means to be in a fandom. And not just specific fandoms, either. The fans of anime. The gamers, The bookworms. The TV addicts. The music-lovers. Everyone is fighting under one cause.

For the first time EVER, EVERYONE is united.

AND UNITED WE STAND, FOR FANDOMS WORLDWIDE AND FOR SUPERNATURAL.

But not for the Beliebers. They’re the reason this shit happened in the first place. Fuck you guys. Just because ONE actor of a TV show made a comment about your idol doesn’t mean that you have the right to attack that actor’s show and ITS ENTIRE BLOODY FANDOM. You’re obviously not true fans of anything, because true fans stick up for other fandoms no matter what.

Watch out, Beiber. The world is coming after you.

I can’t believe you guys haven’t heard of TJLC. It’s a goldmine.

(anon, please)

So essentially what happened was that a few years ago, a few people in the Sherlock fandom convinced themselves - and then other people too - that there was a conspiracy that would result in Sherlock and John being a couple. And most of it wasn’t based on usual shipping stuff like something they said to each other or things like that; it was all obscure ‘clues’ like the direction in which the curtains are blowing in a certain scene. It was wild.

The writers caught wind of that at some point apparently and they both said many, many times that it wasn’t going to happen. They weren’t subtle - they literally said, ‘there’s no conspiracy, it’s not a plan, we aren’t fucking with your heads’ and the rest of the fandom tried to tell the people from the TJLC corner to chill and that it wasn’t that deep, but they were like, 'the writers know what they’re doing, don’t you guys ;)))’

So according to the conspiracy, they were supposed to get together in the last episode of the fourth season. They even had countdowns to the exact moment they’d kiss and stuff like that based entirely on the theories supported by the conspiracy. They claimed the show didn’t make sense without the gay subtext. People organised actual personal real life events around that thing.

They didn’t kiss, obviously, because the writers explicitly said they wouldn’t, and now the conspiracy bunch is split in two - people who keep acting like the writers murdered their families and set their house on fire, and people who are sure that there’s a secret episode they haven’t shown yet for some reason, as if the BBC could afford to pay any of these actors for filming fake footage for months. There are actual nervous breakdowns over a detective show that did exactly what it said it would do and I’m kinda sad for them, but decided I’d tell the story anyway.

I see people complaining about how "racist" we are if we don't like Ian with Caleb.

Because he’s black.
Seriously?
Because obviously, if we hate that the writers have ruined a beautiful couple that has grown and improved so much in 5 years and that meant a lot to so many people, we are racist if the “new guy” is black.
“You love Mickey just because he’s white”………what?
This is not about racism for fuck’s sake.
This is about something totally different. Can someone really be racist about this? Sure. But don’t talk about the entire Gallavich fandom please.
Don’t try to find excuses just because you left the ship at the sight of a new hottie.

#Clexaforme

Okay. Let’s get started, am I right?

Clexa for me is a lot of things. It is not only representation, but it is also something I can connect to on so many different levels. Every time I pick up a book or watch an LGBT+ TV show or movie, It is constantly the same story. It’s always, “Girl falls for her best friend, the other chick goes along with it, and at the end it ends badly and they never get together for real.” There is never a sense of adventure of a hero who is bisexual or lesbian or trans or etc. We don’t get the ‘Prince charming’ and ‘happy ending’ type of stories. We never get the hardcore adventures, we never get that normalized slow burn that straight couples get all the time in movies, tv shows, and books.

Apologize for what? You don't even know what's like being in the closet, you have a choice here, it doesn't affect your life, what have you done for Louis and Harry?

harry and louis havent done anything they need to apologise for… but the situation their team has put them in is disgusting… this entire situation is manipulating and gross. they’ve gaslit the entire fandom… when it comes out that louis doesnt have a kid, how many people do you think are going to be devastated from that? not because he doesnt have a kid, but because this whole charade has been a lie and peoples emotions have been played with… they have interns pretending to be him on twitter answering fans about a child that doesnt exist. do you know how damaging that is? to the fans!!! their team has pegged fans against each other, they have endorsed fandom bullying, they have created stunt after stunt and fucked with the minds of millions of impressionable young people all for the sake of closeting 2 boybanders and making money… fuck there was an article JUST YESTERDAY about how guys get told they arent allowed to come out because it wont make them money… when in fact these days thats completely wrong. the entire industry is built on lies… and obviously thats not harry and louis’ fault nor their responsibility to apologise for the things their team has done, but whatever direction this goes, people are gonna get hurt and harry and louis are the types of people to apologise for hurting someone, even if it wasn’t their fault. dont you think?

and fuck man… what have i done for harry and louis? ive supported their love, ive never sent hate to them or to their family, ive given money to their charities , ive bought their albums, and their concert tickets, ive spent my time on them and the band, supporting their careers by legally buying ALL their music and all their movies and the rallying behind them to support the people they are… im not owed anything. i know that… but dont you dare question me and what ive done for these boys when i spend every single day sitting here campaigning for their freedom and being a voice that they can’t have. they dont owe me anything, but their team sure has a lot to answer for when it comes to the psychological mistreatment of the fans. ALL of the fans.

Remember that guy, James Cherry?? Louis tweeted about his music and he was extremely grateful. I now have a song from him on my spotify playlist. I gave it a go because he was super nice and I ended up really liking the song. This one I am obviously not even going to try to listen to their songs. So great job!! They have just alienated this entire fandom

Yesss I do the same thing, I always listen to the music when they respond graciously, and when they don’t, I’m like “anyways, gotta go!”

What's your opinion of Jason, given all the BTS drama, the disaster that was s3 and what went down with C/exa and now Bella/ke? (what if that ship doesn't sail? even with all the social media frenzy around that one now) Is it possible you're being an apologist for him?

Hi anon!

If your assumption is that I am an apologist for Jason, I’m going to assume you’re probably new to this blog (welcome!) and have not listened to the podcast I co-host, Meta Station.  We recapped all of 3B here and I suspect if you listen to any of the episodes that will put that matter to rest pretty quickly.)

If you are new, you might have missed my “I’m no longer taking anons asking me to defend why I still like this show” policy (which you can read here).  I answered that question once, at great length, here, and I try to avoid repeating myself where possible.

My opinion of Jason is that I’m done just kind of bitching about him recreationally, tbh.  I have dragged Jason, you have dragged Jason, we have all dragged Jason, it has been a gloriously unifying fandom pastime, and there was a time when we probably all found it cathartic, but I no longer think it serves us and I don’t think it makes this fandom a better place.  I am only human, I may slip up from time to time, especially if he does something really boneheaded, but I am trying VERY HARD to get myself out of the dragging Jason Rothenberg business.

That said, if you have a particular, specific question about how I feel about a writing choice, a character choice, or something concrete like that, I’m always happy to take those.  On our podcast, Erin and I critique his storytelling choices at LENGTH and have never been quiet about the places where we think the writing has been lazy, irresponsible, thoughtless about tropes, fandom-baiting, or just bad storytelling.  In addition, I think based on everything we all know and hear coming out of the continual BTS rumors, as I’ve mentioned many times in recent posts, it sounds like for at least a couple of the cast members he creates/has created a really difficult working environment.  And yes, I think there were some catastrophically bad choices in S3 - not just Lexa (whose death I have blogged about before here), but the character assassination of Bellamy, the fridging of Gina, the erasure and the death of Lincoln coupled with the way it sounds like Ricky was being treated personally, the gross Murphy/Ontari thing - and I think it’s wise that the network brought in a new co-executive producer as a tactful indication that they know Jason needs a little reining-in.

That said, I don’t think he’s Satan, I don’t think any human being deserves to have people tweet “kill yourself” at them over and over, and I am cautiously optimistic that he has learned some really key lessons from the fallout of S3.  We’ll see how S4 progresses, and we’ll know what we know when we know it, but I’m hopeful and positive that this season could be great, and I’m not interested in apologizing for that.

If your assumption that I’m an apologist from him stems with some of the recent posts in response to fears about cancellation, what I have been saying over and over is that the NETWORK continues to support Jason, believe in his vision, show enthusiasm for the stories he is telling, and speak positively of him and the show.

I do want to point out, however, that it sounds to me like the question you are at heart asking is “Jason fucked up Clexa and might fuck up Bellarke, why don’t you hate him and this show more,” which I am happy to answer because this gives me a chance to remind you that you have sent that question to A KABBY BLOG. Whether Bellarke or Clexa or neither is endgame isn’t why I watch this show, so it is not a dealbreaker for me.

I have said this before, many times, and I will say it again, VERY LOUDLY, in boldface and italic type:

it is very frustrating for all the rest of us in the fandom who don’t label ourselves as “Bellarke” or “Clexa” to be addressed as though absolutely nothing else on this show matters except those two ships.

I plan to continue watching the show with enthusiasm.  It’s fine if you don’t.  That’s a personal choice.  But I loved a lot of things in S3 that had nothing to do with Bellarke or Clexa, and I am sure I will find a lot of things in S4 to love that have nothing to do with Bellarke or Clexa, because for me this show is not about Bellarke and Clexa.  If it is for you, that’s fine!  We all consume media differently.  But I don’t think it’s being an apologist for Jason to feel, for example, that the show is still telling really important stories about all kinds of different representation that deserve to continue to be dignified, and I don’t think it’s erasing the crappy stuff he’s done to say that he’s also done a lot of things really, really well.

Here, in no particular order, is a list of just some of the many things I loved about S3 that I want to make sure are not erased or drowned out by the negatives of S3:

  • Literally every single moment Kane or Abby were onscreen, separately or together, especially THE KISS and THE PRISON SCENE and THE CHEEK KISS and THE FINALE HUG and BEING PLOT-RELEVANT
  • The whole City of Light/ALIE storyline, especially its connection to Grounder mythology
  • Lindsey’s performance in “Nevermore”
  • Briller
  • Indra
  • There were a lot of big writing/editing problems in the Bellamy/Pike/Kane storyline, but hot damn those performances were fantastic
  • Becca and the Polaris flashbacks
  • Roan and Luna
  • Kanetavia/Rebel!Dad with Harper and Miller
  • Jasper’s PTSD arc
  • Monty getting a new level of nuance and complexity
  • Sinclair getting all the dialogue they probably wrote for Wick and getting to really flesh out his bond with Raven
  • The Griffin women finally getting the chance to team up and save the day
  • Multiple Wells callbacks
  • Jake callbacks for both Abby and Clarke (especially “I can’t do this again”)
  • Niylah
  • Murphy’s entire arc (obviously not counting the creepy Ontari sexual assault/consent violation thing), especially the Indra/Pike trio and his finale teamup with Abby
  • Raven’s entire arc – running from her pain, then pushing through it, then becoming a superhero without her injury ever being dismissed or minimized
  • The new Arkadia sets, the Rover, and the way they depicted the Sky People gradually settling in and building a home
  • Jaha’s slow-burn three-season good guy to villain arc

I’m excited and enthusiastic about S4, as is pretty much everyone I know in the Kabby fandom.  It’s okay if you aren’t.  That’s a personal choice.  But the fact that I’d never take a job working for Jason Rothenberg because he sounds like a really awful boss doesn’t mean I’m obligated to hate the way he tells stories or want his show to be canceled.

I gently encourage you to let go of any assumptions you may have that the people who continue to enjoy this show are doing so blindly or stupidly, that liking the show is a blanket endorsement of all a showrunner’s worst personal and professional choices, or that people who like a thing you don’t like do so because they’re not as smart as you are and they haven’t figured out that they’re wrong for liking it.

I love this show enough that I have never kept my mouth shut when the writers make choices I object to.  I love this show enough to believe it can bear the weight of a substantial amount of thoughtful criticism from a wide and diverse range of perspectives, and I believe doing so is vital.

If you just want to tell me Jason is a garbage person and you’re annoyed that I still like things he’s doing, then I’m afraid I can’t actually help you. If you are here to be an informed, thoughtful critic of this show and are interested in debate, you will always be welcome.  I would just ask you to maybe consider, for next time, the limits of this binary assumption that Clexa and Bellarke are the only aspects of this show that anyone cares about.

Last thoughts for Kalel and Anthony.

I pretty much said my thoughts in the recent ask I answered, but I just wanted to say a few words real quick. Kalel, Anthony, I wish you guys nothing but the best in wherever you go and whatever you do. I don’t know you guys personally, but that doesn’t mean I’m not saddened about you two no longer being together. Break ups can be hard to handle, and when someone is in your life for so long, it can be even more difficult. Regardless, I’m here for you guys as I’m sure many other Smoshers will be as well. I’m not speaking for the entire fandom obviously, and I’m not one to write a huge paragraph like this, but I truly wish you guys nothing but the best. Take care.

Warning This is a Rant about The Achievement Hunter Fandom

Alright I know people in the fandom want to see the Ryan the Gnome guy picture, but to go to the extent to find his WIFE and bring her into it. If she wanted to be apart of the community she would. The fandom DOES NOT need to start digging into Ryan’s family life and his past. He’s kept those things private FOR A REASON. It pisses me off that the fandom would go to that far. He obviously sounded embarrassed about the whole modeling thing, and he sounded like he didn’t want the entire fucking fandom to go and dig this shit up.

When the guys said to go and find the pictures, THEY WERE BEING SARCASTIC. Gavin recently said he hated Tumblr, and I can understand why. I feel absolutely DISGUSTED that the fandom would go to this extent, and get his fucking wife involved in all of it. I’m gonna say this once, IT IS RYAN’S PERSONAL LIFE, AND THE FANDOM SHOULDN’T BE DIGGING INTO IT.

This is seriously getting out of hand, just let Ryan’s story about being a male model stay exactly that, a story. Let him live his life, and stop trying to get his family involved with something that the fandom will probably never even find. Please, Just leave Ryan alone, about the whole thing.

Hi I don't know how aware you are of this but there are people within the yogscast fandom who are writing rape fiction specifically involving hatfilms, sips, kirindave and strife. anyone who dares call them out is attacked for it by the entire group and they feel no shame about this even though theyre writing this from the perspective of it being the IRL versions of the guys. its creepy and perverse and they tag it as "urban magic yogs". theyre terrorizing the fanbase we don't know what to do

Hi. I am not aware of any of this and haven’t seen it in tags that I view at all. Obviously it sounds like some of the topics are not very pleasant. Do they tag it appropriately? If they don’t maybe it would be worth blacklisting it. Like I say, I haven’t come across any of it. If talking to them directly results in being attacked then I suggest just staying away from it. Things like this will always be written I’m afraid, whether we approve of it or not.
