this gifset literally was in the works for like a month

How did you learn to do your edits??

I’m 100% not kidding when I say that the answer to that is literally Google.

If I can picture (in my head) what I want a certain gif to look like, and I don’t know how to do it from a technical standpoint, then I’ll just Google how to do that certain thing. There’ll usually be a tutorial somewhere where I can follow instructions but modify the steps slightly to apply it to my own work / my vision.

I still consider myself a graphics newbie tbh. Every time I make a new special edit for Shadowhunters I actually always end up utilizing new techniques that I’ve never done before, and thus learning new techniques as I go. My first semi-complex gifset was dated 1 month ago so I can tell you that literally a month ago I didn’t know how to do a lot of the things that I’m putting into my gifsets now. I’ve been learning so much these past few weeks!

So yeah, online tutorials are your best friend! Just a warning that while you’re getting the hang of making graphics it might take you longer to do things that may take other people much less time (my latest gifset took me about 12 hours to make from start to finish - tbh I’m sure that there are really pro people out there who could fully replicate this in 3 hours or something). But if you have the patience for it you’ll end up learning a lot.
