this fan art is just perfect

Its so rare to see a chubby/fat anime character. And if there is one theyre usually for comedic relief and have no personality. Thats why Hunk is such an amazing character that not only is funny but also is smart with so many talents and is relatable and is cowardly yet brave JUST SO HUMAN. So i get upset when i see fan art of him thin and muscular like?? Someone can be big and have muscles too?? Let us have this one fat character hes so relatable go draw Lance and his adorable lanky ass leave Hunk alone if he isnt gonna be the perfect chub boy he is now

theres a reason sonny makes vanessa’s coffee

(this is right before usnavi definetly calls nina for help with complex cinnamon mathematics, to which shes like “…you know i study english right? but its like a sprinkle?”)

ok but….damian wayne is my grumpy bird son.

ive been experimenting with comic book styles and colouring! this is one of many doodles

the worst thing about trying to decide to read a fic:

-horrible writing.

-the summary is good but the story is written in a different language or is badly written.

-opening it to find no spaces between the paragraphs.

-both your otp and notp is tagged and you have no clue if you want to take a risk or not.

-tagged major character death and you start sweating.

-hasn’t been updated in 80 years but the summary is on point and their the best fucking writer ever.

-you start reading only to find that the person updates every ten years and you just happened to catch them on a day they finally updated.

-you find a writer and check them out, only to find out they mostly write about your notp - and of course they always update, have perfect writing and have stories that are epic.

-stories with so many fucking tags, you just shake your head and move on.

-the “i suck at summaries please check it out still” and you just, pause because it has your otp and you debate whether or not to take the risk.

-you find a pairing you never considered before and think holy shit, that could be hot and spend all day hunting through the tag.

-you ship a pairing so fucking hard, only to find like two fics and you start weeping.

-when you find a perfect story only to check the tags and see some weird shit that disgusts you and you scream why.

-a fic with good writing and summary but it’s so short or is only fan-art.

-a crossover fic where you have both of your fandoms but don’t have both of otps, just one.

-one shots that are so good you wish they were longer.

-when your notp is tagged but it’s labeled as a past relationship or says your otp is endgame, and you have to go through the notp’s awkward breakup in order for your otp to happen.

-when someone doesn’t tag properly and a plot twist hits you and you want to cry.

-you finally find a great fic that has been updated and the last update says writes block, personal issues- can’t do this, asks for co-writer, discontinues it or says lol i hate how this is turning out, deleting.

-when a writer as twenty stories to update and you cry because you like all of them and you have to wait.

-when you remember a story from like five years ago and you search for it, only to find it’s been deleted or can’t seem to find it anywhere.

-when a writer gives you an update schedule and you’re excited because they follow it but then they start missing it and you just…

-when a writer deletes a story and rewrites the same story but you like the original better.

-when your reading a story about a rare pairing that interests and your otp hate each other or just friends and it’s just so weird to read.

-when one half of your otp is in another relationship and the other half shows up with someone else and then you remember, right i’m not reading a story about my otp so i can’t get mad.

-when your otp is popular but it’s not as popular as another ship in the fandom and you hate how the other ship as so much more stories than your ship.

-when you try to read an ot3 relationship because it has two characters you love but the other character is usually from your notp and you hate when your notp share moments.

-when you beg an author (usually one where they aren’t in the fandom really) to write more stories about your otp and they say maybe and it never happens.

-when the writer literally shits on your favorite character and you can’t go through it anymore.

-when your otp isn’t the main pairing and you don’t really care about the other pairings in the story and skip to your otp parts.

-when a story has a million words and it’s so good and you know that you will spend all day and night reading it until your eyes hurt.

-when a story have 200 parts to it and you lose all hope after a while because the story is dragging.

-when your otp is going through something and so many stories are filled with angst, fluff and hurt that it makes you cry because yup, i need to read about my pain for my otp.

-when the writer refuses to write the smut you been waiting for and your otp is stuck in unresolved tension mode forever.

-when the writer unexpected changes the story’s events and you are disappointed by the direction.

-when you find a great au and the characters are so out of character… it makes you sad.

-when you open a fic only to find you hate the point of view and you scream.

-when you request a prompt and the author writes it but you are disappointed and just smile through the pain.

-when you have such a good idea in your head and you try to write it but it’s so bad that you delete it and cry, hoping someone else writes the brilliant idea that you had.

-when you don’t ship something anymore but see a great plot and you click the story and take a deep breath - because shit is about to go down.

-when you reading a great story but get distracted and skip some parts, shit goes down in between and then you think fuck, and have to start over.

-when it’s tagged “slow burn” and you say i can do this and it’s chapter 30 and my ship still hate each other like what.

-when the author says this is their first time writing smut and you think on god they better do this right - only to find out they writing eight pages on your otp making love. like yes.

-when the smut is so rushed or improper you feel cheated and log off because done. like so done.

-when it’s tagged “everyone lives” and your eyes water because that’s all you ever wanted in life.

-when the author leaves a cliffhanger and says in the author’s note “lol sorry about the cliffhanger, i’ll update soon”. you ain’t sorry, stop lying.

-when you see that the story is complete and do a happy dance, only to realize that it ended badly or the sequel/series hasn’t been updated.

I’m reading all these reblogs on @breeeliss’s post about how not to talk to fic writers and quite frankly I’m astonished and appalled.

“If your art is not perfect, it’s garbage”??

Wowwwwww, take literally ten thousand seats.

First of all: this is fanfiction, written for free, during someone’s free time.

Secondly, there’s no such thing as perfect art. Come the fuck on.

“A matter of respect to the reader?” You’re not entitled to anything.

And “since when you you have to kiss someone’s ass to tell someone they fucked up a verb”?

You don’t? You just don’t have to be an asshole about it?

Don’t give me that bullshit about English not being their first language and therefore the tone didn’t come across the right way. The language of condescension is universal.

And this person is a dick.

Here’s what’s so weird to me. Most people wouldn’t correct a fan artist on getting a nose a little wrong, or drawing a hand a little weird, or drawing eyes a little wonky.

Like putting things like whitewashing aside (because the equivalent would be writing something similarly cringey), you would be hard pressed to find people reblogging art with minor mistakes and telling the artist every little thing wrong with it.

So why is it ok for people to nitpick at fanfic but not fanart?

It’s not. It’s not ok.

This sense of gross entitlement some readers have for content they get for free really disgusts me.

Just a reminder, kids. This is fanfiction, created during spare time, for free.

You’re not entitled to shit. And it costs $0 to be considerate and conscientious.

For fuck’s sake.

In which Ignis’ idea of a perfect date is a fancy night at the Opera and Aranea just cannot appreciate it — and he made her dress up and everything!

I’M SORRY BUT THIS IS SUCH A RARE SHIP I NEED TO KEEP CREATING FOR THE….10 FANS WHO SHIP THIS (also tried practicing some lighting etc etc)

(sort-of Art Trade with @heysherry - TY FOR FANGIRLING WITH ME!)

More Married AU kisses (u w u)🌸 I heard it was Adrienette month too so I figured it was perfect timing xD

And if you want more sap, I’ve just updated my drabble series for this AU :D

PLEASE DO NOT RE-UPLOAD. And because of this morning, I have to explain this too. DO NOT USE MY TERMS OF USE POST EITHER.

Some Thoughts on criticism in fandom and creators bc this shit drives me absolutely nuts and I got a lot to say I guess

Fans are allowed to criticize creators! It does not matter if they never went to art school or dont have a million dollar disney series! their opinions still matter!

Criticism isnt hate, a fan criticizing a creator doesnt make them a fake fan or a traitor, it doesnt mean they hate the work! fans criticize creators because they love their work and want to see them improve! loving something doesnt mean blind worship.

Criticism isn’t entitlement, Criticism isnt setting impossible standards, just because no one is perfect doesnt mean that no one should try. Just because fans of a show want to see it improve doesnt make them “entitled”.

Criticism =/= Hate, constructive criticism isn’t blind hatred. Criticism isnt always kind either, just because its negative doesnt mean its not criticism. Learn the difference,

The existence of trolls, misguided teens, and nasty haters doesnt make other criticism automatically invalid. There are plenty of older more “mature” folks who have criticism that should be heard, and just because younger fans don’t always know how to get their thoughts across properly doesnt automatically mean their thoughts and ideas are wrong or should be brushed off. Trolls and Haters? they’ll always exist and their existence doesnt mean other people aren’t worth listening to.

Hobbiests and children aren’t always going to be receptive of criticism and thats okay. But if you expect that your work is going to reach a wide audience, if you consider yourself a professional, if you are making a profit from your creations, you need to be receptive of criticism, If you want to reach that level someday then please be understanding and try to be more open to criticism as well.

That doesn’t mean you have to take literally every single thing everyone says to heart and it doesn’t mean you have to allow yourself to be harrassed, but be more receptive to criticism, strive to improve yourself.

and if youre a fan please don’t coddle creators or get angry at critics, you as a fan should want your faves to improve themselves.

top 5 haikyuu fan videos?

I’m OBSESSED with fan made and crack videos, I’ve basically watched all youtube has to offer, but there are some classics that everyone should watch:

1. Oikawa Tooru - Gay or European? This is simply a piece of art and the most accurate haikyuu video I’ve ever seen. A MASTERPIECE from the beginning to the end, especially with Suga, Tsukki, Kenma and Iwa. I’ll never get tired of watching it.

2. 50 Shades of Haikyuu. A remake of the Fifty Shades Of Grey trailer featuring Hinata as Anastasia and Kageyama as Mr. Grey. I go nut every time I see it it’s just perfect and way better than the original pls take my money and MAKE THIS HAPPEN

“What was he like?” “He was polite, intense, smart…Really intimidating.”

3. Mean Girls | Haikyuu!! Trailer. What happens when you put together Oikawa, Kuroo and Tsukki? This video is so well made I’ll literally make you fell of the chair believe me

“I’m sorry people are so jealous of me, but I can’t help it that I’m popular” is the most Kuroo quote EVER

4. Haikyuu!! Trailer - 10 Things I Hate About You. @haikyuuliberos made this and this is all you need to know about it. WATCH IT

5. Wiggle-Kuroo Tetsurou. If you feel like dying of the best death possible, watch this video of Kuroo dancing on heels. This is the reason why I don’t sleep at night tbh it’s….a spiritual experience

Hope you had fun with these and thank you for your message!

Ask me my top 5 things!

Here are the finished images of the reversible baby blanket i made.

Again, this was made as a fan art/congrats to Michael and Lindsay Jones of Rooster Teeth since they are expecting a baby. They are both awesome people and i wanted to make them something as a ‘thank you’ for BEING awesome and just for kicks.

Unfortunately, while i know it arrived via tracking the package itself, i still don’t know if they opened it or not. :/ Kind of bummed about that. I want to know if they like it/if it arrived safely/if jeremy dooley stole it because it’s about the perfect size for him.

I had never done anything like this before with it being a reversible blanket so. As far as a technical aspect goes, it wasn’t hard per say but it was a bit tricky to line it up for the actually quilting part of it. Thank god for water soluble thread. I used that with the Ruby side to bast stitch that to the batting (mid-weight fleece) and to give myself a sort of grid to line up with for adding on the Achievement Hunter side.

My camera doesn’t pick up the quilting thread itself because i used a transparent thread. It was that or black thread, and i thought that with all the black fabric already in there, it might be too much.

Final size was a 35 inch square, made with 100% cotton for the patchwork and common fleece for the batting. Both logos were appliqued with Heat N Bond lite and reinforced with 100% cotton thread blanket stitching. Total work time was about 22 hours. :D

When did it become OK to be a dick to Taylor Swift?

She has every right to be proud of her achievements

It’s cool to hate Taylor Swift.

If you were to believe what people say about Taylor Swift you would think she is nothing less than an evil mastermind bent on world destruction when, in fact, she is simply a musician whose work has been justifiably recognised for its more than considerable merit.

You may say that people hate on Taylor because Kim Kardashian exposed her as a snake, but in reality this was just the final straw. The tide has started to turn against Taylor well before that. The hate she received and is still receiving for winning the Grammy for Album of the Year in 2015 (which was completely beyond her control by the way) is a perfect example of that.

The fact is that people loathe to celebrate successful people, especially women. When it seems like someone is getting popular, they are immediately seen as too big for their boots and the criticism starts rolling in. They are the real snakes, not Taylor.

A perfect example of this is this article from BuzzFeed which accuses Taylor of making her entire career off playing the victim. BuzzFeed have previously been very supportive of Taylor, publishing articles like “21 Times Taylor Swift Proved She Has A Heart Of Gold”, “17 Reasons Why Taylor Swift Couldn’t Possibly Top “1989”. If you’re going to be critical, then please show a consistent line.

The truth is that now that it’s in vogue to hate on Taylor, publications like BuzzFeed have readily jumped on the bandwagon. Penning a 20-page long essay about how much you despise someone is tantamount to creating a ‘Mean Girls’-esque burn book. Not only is this playground behaviour, but also a colossal waste of everyone’s time. The whole article is redundant because by engaging in a personal attack upon Taylor’s character it ends up doing very thing it claims Taylor Swift has based her whole career on – turning her into a victim.

The disturbingly ruthless character assassination of Taylor has come about in an age when America is rebelling against the traditional girl next door. This once practically untouchable archetype has now been thrown out of the window in favour of celebrating diversity, which is undoubtedly fantastic for society. What we must be careful of, however, is to not go too far the other way in order to achieve this goal of equality.

How can the persecution of what Taylor stands for – the girl next door – belong in the diverse accepting society we want to create? This is a society where there is room for the gay kid, the black kid and the girl next door to sit at the same table, rather than one where the girl next door is left out to justify the years she enjoyed the spotlight over others. That’s called reverse discrimination, which benefits nobody. What we need to strive towards is equal spotlight, equal recognition.

There now exists a paradox whereby white artists like Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande, who all received Grammy nominations this year, are still clearly favoured by established institutions such as The Grammys, as evidenced by the events of last Sunday, but their work is unfairly dismissed by the masses as redundant fluff.

Taylor Swift winning Album of the Year angered a lot of people and whether or not it was the right decision it was the decision which was made and Taylor has every right to be proud of her achievement. After all, this was the moment she had worked for since she was 15. The culmination of the fruits of her labour. The fulfilment of her dreams. To rob anyone of that satisfaction is bullying no matter what the reason.

The fact is that ‘1989’ was, in fact, one of the best albums in recent memory, you can check out this BuzzFeed article for all the reasons why. You don’t need to carry a political message in order to be a bloody fantastic album. Taylor’s mastery lies in reinvention and pitch perfect PR campaigns. And newsflash, every single artist manipulates the media – Beyonce herself is just as shrewd a businesswoman and people adore her. It’s a fickle business.

The matter is one of respect. Artists, generally speaking, are much better at showing respect for one another, which is important considering that we lived in an era when pop is looked down upon as a lesser art. Taylor Swift had already declared herself a fan of Kendrick Lamar when she asked him to feature on her song ‘Bad Blood’. If Lamar did not respect Taylor’s work he would have declined, which begs the questions as to why the general public is so damning of Taylor on behalf of Lamar when the artist himself publicly has already declared his respect for her work.

Taylor Swift is an intelligent, strong woman who has managed to create a successful career for herself out of nothing and that is purely based on talent, not playing the victim. Do you think people who buy her albums if they carried the same message, but without her level of musical mastery? Absolutely not. Does society need to change to recognise more diverse talent – of course, but don’t blame Taylor Swift for a problem that should be equally shouldered by all of us.
