Request:hi love! could you possibly do an imagine about tom proposing to you, but like can you try and make it different from the usual proposal? thank you! (send in requests)
Summary: Tom struggles to find the perfect moment to pop the question.
Warnings: Deadass the most fluff I’ve ever written in my life
Word Count: 1.4K
Tom had been planning out your proposal for much longer than he’d care to admit to anyone, except maybe his mum; in fact, she was the first person to know about his future plans. It was right after the two of you had visited his parents home and Tom saw how well you had managed to fit into his family.
He watched you laughing heartily with his brothers and talking avidly with his mother and he couldn’t help the smile that grew on his face as he leant against the kitchen doorway. Only one thought was running through his mind as he stared at you; I am a goner and when you glanced at him, a smile completely lighting up your face, he couldn’t help but fall in love with you all over again.
i think it’s time i told you (i’m a fan of your universe) (1/1)
Years after Hawkmoth’s defeat, Ladybug and Chat Noir have a conversation about life, love, and marriage.
Ladybug checked her communicator for the third time that night, and frowned.
The green pawprint blinked idly back at her, resting at a junction between city streets—the same place it had been every other time she’d checked.
They hadn’t arranged to meet up that night. It was her turn for a solo patrol tonight, and there hadn’t been any trouble big enough to make calling for help a necessity. She’d stopped a couple muggings, interrupted a robbery—normal, small things. Nothing that needed an extra pair of hands.
And, sure, they both transformed just for the fun of it sometimes. Sometimes they caught one another out on morning strolls or midnight snack runs or impromptu patrols, but usually those involved moving around.
Chat’s tracker hadn’t moved in the past two hours.
She shouldn’t worry—Hawkmoth had been in jail for the past three years and Chat wasn’t in a bad part of town right now—but…
The green pawprint blinked at her from the same junction, at the same pace, unmoved.
Ladybug abandoned the end of her route and headed downtown.
Summary: Watching the man you love love someone else was the most painful feeling in the world.

It was terrifying how much could change in a year. To think that just a few short weeks could change everything about you was daunting, but true. When you had left life felt like torture, like everywhere you looked there was something waiting to mock you. You were broken, your heart all but ashes when you boarded the first flight away, but you knew it was what you needed to do. You needed time away from it all to figure out what you wanted, to figure out who you were without all of the things you’d grown so used to. It was hard, leaving it all behind, like you just gave away a piece of yourself with no plans of ever getting it back.
Loving Byun Baekhyun was hard, but letting that love go, was harder.
before i say anything else about all my thoughts and feelings on 210…
I LOVE THAT NICOLE IS MARRIED
yes, it’s something to be talked about big time between wayhaught. yes, it’s a big ‘ol ugly secret. not technically a lie but sins of omission.. yeah yeah yeah it is what it is.
But seriously, this is something I have never witnessed be addressed in lgbt rep. It’s something I never expected to see. And it’s so personal to me.
Personal story time literally nobody asked for: I got married shortly after the repeal of DADT in Washington DC at the ripe old age of almost 20. I was young, dumb, and in the military. I was also extremely aware of the history, the battles that lead to small political victories. A lot of us were. And a lot of us did get married simply because we finally could. It was a huge deal then - not too fucking long ago.
Same thing but on a much larger scale throughout the US: after the US Supreme Court “ruled” on the federal legalization of gay marriage, a literal fuck ton of us got married just out of the sheer euphoria at the fact that we could. It was monumental for us to have this right. So, some of us (a lot of us) jumped straight (lol) for it.
Did that mean a lot of young people getting married before they were in anyway ready for marriage? yeah, big time.
I am one of those people who is still technically married just because divorce takes time. It takes a ton of time, a decent amount of money, and a significant (excruciating) toll on a twenty-something-year-old’s heart and mind.
So allow me, if you will, to paint you a picture. You’ve been watching the politics play out the entirety of your young adult life. You’ve got a girlfriend who you love. The battles so many generations before you have fought and died for have finally, slowly, painfully, been won. You partake in the victory not just for your life and your love, but in the name of those who have fought and died for this before you. The weight of this victory is not lost on you in the slightest. So you get married. A year (if that) later, it doesn’t work out. Like about half of all marriages, yours fails. But divorce is expensive. It’s approximately one trillion times harder to get divorced than it is to get married. So, a few years later, you’re still legally married. You’ve met the absolute love of your life, and you are still married. You still have a wife out there who you don’t talk to. You are not in each other’s lives, but you’ve got that title still.
That is my exact situation right now as I’m writing this. And I never thought I would see that issue on TV. It is a real issue in the LGBT (well let’s throw the blanket term “gay” on it as I’m talking about gay marriage in particular) community. A lot of us are in real, committed, loving relationships but we have actual spouses still. This is a real issue in so many of our lives. And idk if Emily meant to write this in because she is aware this issue effects a lot of us or not, but it’s amazing to me that I am seeing myself actually represented not just as a lesbian, but as a lesbian who rushed into a marriage.
If I went to the hospital right now at this moment in some near death situation, my actual wife would be called. My gf who I live with, have the happiest and best relationship I’ve ever been blessed with, and plan on marrying someday would most definitely be the one by my side, but my actual wife may show up.
Now, my gf knows about my wife. She’s still my wife. I can’t call her my ex-wife yet. Not legally. I told my gf before we even started dating about my whole situation. Yeah we’re separated. Yeah, the only time we talk is about legal stuff. But the fact remains, I am a married woman.
Now, let me add something really emotional to this picture: divorce fucking sucks. When you go for a divorce, there are certain feelings that come along with it that never go away like fucking scars. You feel like a failure. You feel stupid. You feel unlovable and dirty and shameful and guilty and like you aren’t worth it. You suddenly can’t stand being around your own friends anymore because they’re married and having kids. Everything is a reminder that you failed somehow, even when you know it’s not your fault. No matter what the reason for the divorce was, you are shattered. All the love in the world from your soulmate you might find later on doesn’t totally banish those feelings. Some days, you don’t even think about it. Some days, it hits you like a sack of bricks that you weren’t worth keeping promises to. Divorce is by far the most painful experience I’ve had, and I’ve broken a lot of bones and been through my share of disowned by family, going to sleep starving shit.
So it is not crazy at all that Nicole, who fell fast and hard for a girl she did not expect in a million years to light up her life the way she did, hasn’t found the right way to bring this thing up. Wayhaught has been together how long at this point? A few months? I’m guesstimating 4 at most? I find it hard to feel any kind of mad at Nicole for not bringing this up yet. It sucks to talk about because it hurts to you, who went through the pain of a failed marriage, and you have to consider how to not hurt the other person who loves you now with the fact that you had a commitment to another person in the past. A serious, legal one. It’s a shit position to be in. It’s a nearly unwinnable situation. And it’s one that takes time to process for the other person. There is a fat chance this marriage that isn’t valid to you anymore turns off the other person because it speaks to your flaws from a time when you were young, dumb, and reckless, and promised somebody else your love. I don’t blame Nicole at all for not bringing it up yet. Maybe that’s because I know the feeling. Maybe because like, when has there been the time for such a big discussion?
Honestly, the reason I told my gf about being married when I did, the way I did, was because I was trying to keep her from liking me. When we first met, I wasn’t ready for a relationship. I had just gotten out of one literally days before we met at a concert. Then she starting hanging out at my place because my roommate was dating her friend. I knew she liked me, so I gave her all the dirt on me: I’m married, I drink, I’m a writer, I’m broke, I’m medicated, I have a bad leg, all the negative things. “I’m married” is not a good way to start a conversation. That will keep the ladies away, usually. I mean, ultimately in my life, it was good to have all the bad things in my past out in the air, and our relationship is like the funniest, best love story I’ve ever seen.
But let’s look at life in fucking Purgatory. All the times both Nicole and Waverly have been attacked, been nearly dead, maybe been actually dead, been possessed. They fight demons. Their lives aren’t normal, and they are always in danger. Bringing up a topic like legal marriage? As someone who is married and has been separated for years, there are days I don’t even think about or remember that I’m married anymore. It’s just not something that’s part of your life when you get caught up in school/work/puppy training/what have you. It’s not something on Nicole’s mind always, I can guarantee you that. And when she does think, oh maybe I should bring this up now, something insane like oh, my girlfriend’s possessed takes precedence.
That was super long and unsolicited, but I think important. Nicole has always been an important character to me, but now exponentially more so because an issue has been addressed that does touch so many queer lives. I feel represented in a way I didn’t know I needed until I saw it tonight.
I want to say that I get why some people are mad about Nicole being married, but honestly, no. Sit down. Take a look at the community around you and real issues we deal with in our real lives. If you don’t want to see the hard part of our lives portrayed, what the hell are you talking about when you cry about wanting representation? If all you want to see women kissing and smiling, go watch porn. It’s just as realistic as this “representation” you say you want. You want positive representation, that is what we are getting in a way I feel so blessed to be witnessing. We have real characters in the media reflecting real struggles. We have a bisexual woman in a small town who is extremely apprehensive and makes rash decisions because she’s been through hell. We have a lesbian with a protector impulse which makes her prone to bad judgement calls but very good at her job, and she’s got a past that echos what so many of us lesbians living in the real world are going through. So, no, sincerely reexamine what it is you want these characters to be, because it’s not good representation. It’s fake. And it’s not doing anyone any favors.
tl;dr: Nicole is the rep of my dreams. Learn some history. Fight me.
I relistened to everything while getting hyped for the finale and I have a lot of things to say about Lucretia. Lucretia’s character arc is my absolute favorite on this show because she winds up so far from how she started, but everything fits perfectly with the person she already was. I took note of some of my favorite parts of her development, mainly her parallels to Magnus and the way her experiences shape her decisions. Most of all I’m just so fascinated with how she began as a character who simply chronicled events without any agency in them, but her choices wind up becoming the driving force of the entire plot.
Like, at the press conference that the Stolen Century starts with, the chronological beginning of everyone’s story, the moment she introduces herself made me laugh.
I fucking LAUGHED. I realized the reason why I found it strangely funny is because Lucretia has more influence on the plot than any other character. The story is almost entirely driven by her. Lucretia’s decisions are why The Adventure Zone happens and she has her hand on every single plot point in the show. TAZ, from beginning to end, is the story of her failing redemption arc. Her character development as a friend and an antagonist is so complex and slow-burning and so deeply satisfying.
I love Lucretia more than my own life and I would have died if she didn’t get a happy ending with her family. But still, I don’t overlook the wrongs she has done. She didn’t begin as a bad person nor did she end as one, but she has been an antihero in the story. I actually think her character arc is written to directly parallel Magnus as a hero. Their actions mirror each other’s almost constantly. They both gained the voidfish’s trust; Lucretia used it to take away knowledge and Magnus used it to give it back to everyone in Story and Song. Even Magnus’ lessons in strength that Griffin kept flashing back to at the climax directly apply to Lucretia (more on that in a bit). They both want to be protectors and they want to shoulder pain so that their friends don’t have to.
Another thing from Lucretia’s first appearance in the Stolen Century that I like is when she introduces herself as a ghostwriter for other people’s biographies.
It’s a brilliant backstory for Griffin to give her, because it explains perfectly how easily she could erase everyone’s life and write a new story for them. She had been rewriting and editing people’s lives for a living once, without anyone knowing it was her. It’s interesting the way Griffin describes her plan to void their memories exactly like what her previous life’s work had been.
It’s just a wildly good twist on the aspect of her character that kept Lucretia as a passive observer at the beginning of the story! In the Stolen Century, Merle suggested to her that she had leadership qualities and Lucretia laughed it off; she told merle she was happy to sit and watch. This gets turned on its head and she uses that skill against her loved ones and the entire world, now she is making them passive characters in the narrative she is driving.
Lucretia used to rely entirely on others to the point where she didn’t want to take action, or didn’t think she needed to. The turning point for this, obviously, is the year she faced alone. She stopped observing her friends save the world and started participating in it with them.
The motive for her character’s turning point in the Stolen Century mirrors Magnus’ motives. She wants to be a protector, but she doesn’t know how. Like Magnus, she needed to learn to ask for help. But she learned the wrong lesson.
The year when the judges and their officers pursued her, the one that carved her into the person she is now—It taught her that she didn’t need help to protect her friends. She could struggle through it alone, without anyone’s support, and come out of it stronger. Lucretia fixed everyone’s mistake and none of them suffered for it.
And this year explains why she thought erasing her friends’ memories could be redeemable. She carries with her a trauma and a complex that shaped her into believing she has to suffer alone for the good of her friends to save them—She did it once, she could do it again. Lucretia learning to be a protector was a case where no one was there to help her and she had to take on everything by herself, so she thinks she can keep her friends safe by cutting them off. From her, from each other, from their past. She wanted everyone to just wake up and find that everything was okay now because of Lucretia, again.
Contrast it with Magnus, whose only flaw is that he’s totally willing to sacrifice his life for his friends. He doesn’t think his friends are strong enough, so he must be the one to “take the big hit” for them.
I’m pretty sure Lucretia shadows this. Her first priority is preservation, whereas Magnus’ is sacrifice, but they’re both too ambitious and think they can take on more than they should. In her mind taking the big hit = shouldering the knowledge of what they’d done to this word and responsibility of repairing their mistakes on her own. She thought it was allowing everyone to live safely and free of guilt while she went through the hardship of absolving them. I think maybe it’s why Magnus forgives her without thinking. He understands this.
That’s why I referred to TAZ earlier as secretly being the story of her failing redemption arc. She betrayed everyone she loved with certainty that recovering the relics and locking out the hunger would vindicate her in their eyes. And it didn’t work. She didn’t mean to draw her plan out as long as she did, but she was afraid to back out or else she’s just left with the consequences of a horrible thing she did and no end to justify the means.
But she didn’t need to. Like Magnus didn’t think to ask for help because it was just too simple, Lucretia didn’t think she could just ask for forgiveness and it would come.
Five Times Tony Stark Was a Good Dad (And One Time He Wasn’t)
So, I’m obsessed with the whole idea that Peter is Tony’s unofficial son and it’s only supported by Tony’s appearance in Spider-Man Homecoming, so I came up with this series, which is in the works and also posted on my AO3 account. If you like it or have any suggestions as to where I should take this, please don’t hesitate to let me know! Also, forgive any spelling errors or mistakes, I finished this at three in the morning one night and I was too lazy to go back and fix them. Enjoy!
Tony swore when he was twelve years old that he would never be a father. He remembered that moment clearly, like it had just happened a day ago, not well over thirty years ago. He was in his room, his father still screaming in a drunken rage at his mother over something Tony did, his anger and disappointment following Tony down the hallway of their New York penthouse apartment. He remembered sitting on the cold tile floor of his room, head rest against the heavy wooden door that was doing nothing to muffle his father’s harsh words.
His father was angry, Tony had gotten kicked out of his third private school on the East Coast, the letter expulsion still clutched in his father’s harsh grasp. He wasn’t sure if he had ever seen his father this furious before and Tony knew that the only thing that saved him from taking a glass full of scotch to the face was his mother’s presence in the room. Maria Stark might’ve been docile about a lot of things, but Howard taking his rage out on Tony physically, that would never fly in this house hold.
Tears of anger and embarrassment welled in Tony’s eyes and he wiped them away furiously, refusing to waste anymore energy on that man that he was forced to acknowledge as his father. No matter what Tony did, it was never enough to please Howard Stark. He made his first prototype of an arch reactor at the age of six, Howard wanted it by age five. Tony skipped three grades, Howard wanted him to skip four. Tony, despite his age, was offered a spot at MIT and if Howard had it his way? He would’ve been there a year ago. No matter how much Tony achieved, how many goals he surpassed, he always came up short in Howard’s eyes. Being the constant source of Howard’s disappointment and ire made Tony wonder if he would ever succeed in his father’s eyes, if his dad would ever clap him on the back and say “I’m proud of you, son.”
He wondered, some nights, when he’d lie awake in his too big bed in his too big room in his too big house, if his father had ever wanted children, had wanted Tony.
The thought crossed his mid countless of times, until it latched onto his cerebral cortex and sat there, like the worst form of cancer that had no possible cure.
And while Tony sat there, head resting tiredly against the warm wood, Howard’s voice still echoing down the long hallway, that cancer spread until it proved fatal.
He never wanted his children to feel like this.
A complete and utter failure.
Tony was self-aware enough to know that the apple didn’t fall far from the tree, that human nature was a pattern and patterns were destined to repeat themselves, without fail. Anger and rage and disappointment were the only form of affection Tony was used to getting to his father. His father was a cold man, always keeping Tony at a distance that no matter how hard he tried, Tony could never quite breach.
And Tony knew, no matter how hard he tried, he would always end up like his father.
Peter Parker came into his life unexpectedly and despite popular opinion, unplanned. He’d been keep tabs on the Spider-Kid since the kid popped up on his radar a few months ago, clad in that god awful homemade leotard/hoodie contraption and flying around Queens on his webs with all the grace of a child learning to walk for the first time. Tony never planned to actually meet the kid behind the mask or reaching out to the flying kid in his homemade costume, but when the Avengers disbanded and the only family Tony had ever known was decreasing in numbers, he needed back up.
Looking back, his intentions were purely selfish and it shamed him to admit, when he dropped the kid back off in his sketchy neighborhood in Queens with the new suit he’d made him, he never had any intention of keeping in contact with the kid.
To absolve himself from the guilt, he appointed Happy as his chaperone and threw himself into creating new legs for Rhodey, another way to attempting to soothe ache of guilt that had settled along with the shrapnel, in his battered heart.
He underestimated Peter, who was pushy and persistent and finally, after three months, Happy threw his phone at Tony and told him to call the kid. That night, Tony, with a glass of scotch in hand, filtered through the hundreds of voicemails Peter had left Happy—anecdotes of his daily patrols, everything from helping old ladies cross the street, stopping bike thieves to getting cats out of trees. Each story was told with excruciating detail, in that excited ramble the kid got whenever he was particularly enthused about something and warmth settled around Tony’s heart, fond amusement making his lips curl into his first genuine smile in months.
It took Tony another week to reach out to the kid, but he did and that’s how he found himself, in one of his more flashier cars, sitting outside of Peter’s school. He ignored the gawking, the stunned stares and the whispers of the students filtering out of the school, his eyes scanning the crowd before they landed on a familiar head of messy hair.
Peter was talking excitedly to the chubby, dark haired Asian kid by his side, who was nodding along to everything Peter said with a look of pure wonder on his face and Tony wondered briefly if his little friend knew that his BFF moonlighted as a super-hero in spandex at night.
Another kid appeared by Peter’s side and Tony watched as Peter visibly tensed and tried to skirt around the kid, but the kid threw a hand out and stopped Peter in his tracks.
The cocky grin that appeared on the kid’s face was all too familiar to Tony and before he could even second guess himself, he was out of his car and walking towards the three boys, ignoring the murmurs coming from the crowd.
“—when are you gonna stop lying about your internship with Tony Stark, Penis Parker? There’s no way someone like Tony Stark would ever take on a charity case like you—“
Peter looked up when he heard the murmuring crowd fall to a hush and his gaze landed on Tony. The amount of surprise in the kid’s features made Tony’s gut clench that in no way had to do with the greasy cheeseburger he ate on the way over here.
“M-Mr. Stark, what, uh, what are you doing here?” Peter stammered, flicking his gaze back to would be bully in front of him.
“Yeah, Parker, like I’m gonna fall for that—“
“Is there a problem here, gentlemen?” Tony interrupted, smirking in satisfaction when the kid that was giving Peter a hard time, froze, turning his disbelieving eyes on to Tony.
“Y-You-You’re Tony Stark.” He said faintly, his voice shaking.
Tony smirked, “Astute observation and you are?”
The kid gulped, his adams apple bobbing harshly, “F-Flash Thompson.”
“Makes sense,” Tony said with a nod of his head, looking the kid up and down, “I’d bully someone too, if my parents named me after the lamest superhero to ever grace the pages of a comic book, overcompensation and all that,” Tony said thoughtfully, “especially with your perceived fixation on the male genitalia. Tell me, did it take you a while to come up with something that juvenile or did you have someone equally as childish think it up for you? Because I would think someone with—and I’m assuming here, so correct me if my deductive reasoning skills are off—a high level of intelligence would come up with something a little bit more creative than ‘Penis Parker’.”
By the time Tony was done, the crowd around him was snickering and the kid in front of him looked like he wanted nothing more than the ground to open up and swallow him whole, if such things were possible.
Tony smiled, but there was nothing nice about, “Now, if I ever catch wind of you so much as looking in Peter’s direction again and trust me, kid, I’ve got my ways, I have no issue siccing my AI on all your school records and wreaking havoc on your future plans for any Ivy League schools, you reading me kid?”
Flash nodded so vigorously he resembled a bobble head, “Y-Yes, Sir.”
Tony smiled, this one much more kind than the last, “Good, I’m glad we could reach an understanding, now running along so I can talk to my intern here without your sorry excuse for cologne clouding my senses, seriously kid less is more.”
Flash tucked his proverbial tail between his legs and pushed through the crowd of people that were now openly laughing, losing interest in Tony in favor of chasing after Flash to mock him.
Tony shouldn’t feel as proud as he did, but he knew what it was like to be bullied and he’d be damned if his kid—ahem, someone like Peter had to deal with someone as childish as Flash Thompson every day and it was within his power to do something about it. Like kid didn’t already have enough to deal with as it was.
He turned back to see a dumbfounded Peter and his equally as flabbergasted friend.
“That was—” Peter began, but seemed to be at a loss for words, shaking his head in disbelief.
His friend, however, didn’t seem to have that particular problem.
“—AWESOME!” His friend said excitedly, “oh man did you see Flash’s face? Dude, this is greatest thing to ever happen to me. Tony Stark just verbally assaulted Flash, Jesus dude, how is this your life? If you ever want to trade, even if it’s just for a day, I’m totally down—“
“Ned.” Peter muttered, elbowing him roughly, giving a rough jerk of his head in Tony’s direction. He flicked his apologetic gaze over to Tony, who simply rolled his eyes, but he couldn’t deny the amused smile tugging at the corners of his lips.
Ned followed his gaze and flushed, “Right, sorry.”
Peter closed his eyes for a moment and Tony could see the kid physically trying to fight off his embarrassment and couldn’t help but chuckle.
Peter’s eyes snapped open at the sound and the surprise and confusion from earlier was back, “Mr. Stark, what are you doing here? At my school? Is everything okay? Is there a—“ Peter glanced around in a sad attempt at nonchalance and lowered his voice to an equally as sad attempt at a whisper, “—mission?” he asked, wiggling his eyebrows in a manner that was making Tony wonder if the kid had a weird twitch he’d never noticed before.
Tony glanced over at Ned quickly, going back to his original curiosity of how much the kid actually knew about his arachnid friend here, but Ned seemed to catch on to Tony’s unasked question.
“Don’t worry Mr. Stark, sir, I’m Peter’s Guy In The Chair.” Ned answered helpfully, giving him a bright smile.
Tony glanced back over at Peter with a raised eyebrow, who simply muttered “dude” in an exasperated tone, shaking his head before returning his attention to Tony, “Ned knows.”
“Oh, well, in that case, no, there is no…mission,” Tony said in a mock whisper, making Peter flush, “I’m working on a new Iron Man suit and I need to pick your brain for some ideas on upgrades, figured I’d swing by and pick you up from school today.”
Peter’s eyes widened and Ned seemed torn between fainting or peeing himself from excitement.
“You get to touch the Iron Man suit?!” He squeaked, turning his wide-eyed gaze over to Peter, who only gave Ned a look, who bit his lip sheepishly, but looked like he was ready to explode from the level of his enthusiasm.
Peter ignored him, “I was supposed to help Ned finish the lego Death Star today, we were supposed to do it yesterday, but I uh, kinda got caught up on patrol.” Peter gave Tony a guilty shrug of his shoulders.
“So let me get this straight,” Tony said slowly, “you’re turning down quality time in my personal lab to build a lego Death Star with Ned over here?”
Peter’s eyes had lit up at the mentions of Tony’s lab, but with quick glance at a wide eyed Ned, who seemed to be stuck on the fact that Tony Stark said his name, his excitement dimmed. But Peter was loyal, almost to a fault, and nodded resolutely.
Tony, seemingly at a loss for words, just stood there, shellshocked at being told no, by a fifteen year old kid at that. A small part of Tony, the one that was actually looking forward to hanging out with the kid, was slightly hurt at the rejection.
Ned, who’d been watching the entire scene with wide eyes, was more observant than he looked and seemed to sense Peter’s indecision and Tony’s disappointment, because he gave his friend a bright smile, “Dude, we can finish the Death Star anytime and besides, my mom wanted me home tonight to help her with something, so I’m booked, raincheck?” He offered.
Peter glanced at Ned then at Tony and then back to Ned, “Um, sure Ned, no problem.”
Ned gave him a smile and then turning his attention back to Tony, his friendly smiled turned a bit more to the manic grin that most people wore in Tony’s presence, “It was really nice to meet you Mr. Stark.”
He offered Peter a fist bump, who returned it, before he started walking down the side walk, towards, what Tony assumed, was home.
Turning his attention back to the kid, he gave him a smile, “Good good, now we should probably be on our way if we want to avoid traffic. Now, as far as suit upgrades go, I was thinking of up-ing the suit’s repulsers a bit—hey, kid, you coming?” Tony asked from his position on the driver’s side, raising an eyebrow at Peter, who was still standing on the side walk. Tony followed his gaze and saw Ned still making his way down the sidewalk and chancing a glance back at Peter, who was still watching him with big, guilty eyes, he sighed.
The things I do for you, kid, Tony thought to himself.
“Hey, Ned,” Tony shouted, making the kid pause and turn around, looking to Peter, who was watching Tony with the beginnings of a smile, then back to Tony curiously, “would you like to join us? There’s plenty of room in the lab for three people.”
Even from a few yards away, Tony could see the kid’s eyes widen in surprise before he hustled his way back to an equally excited Peter, who shot him a grateful look.
“Thank you, Mr. Stark.” He said quietly, giving him a bright smile.
And Tony couldn’t help but smile back, “You’re welcome, kiddo,” eyeing a panting Ned warily, “make sure he doesn’t do anything…weird, okay? I don’t mind opening my lab to him but there was something in his eyes when I was talking about the Iron Man suit that made me decidedly uncomfortable.”
Peter gave a breathy laugh, “Don’t worry, Mr. Stark, Ned’s cool.”
Ned, who had come to a slightly sweaty stop in from them, looked up at Tony with wide eyes, “Can I try on the Iron Man helmet?”
Tony spent the majority of their time in lab just watching Peter and Ned run around like kids in a candy store—picking things up, playing with the robots—DUM-E taking a special liking to Peter, who, Tony was pleased to see, treated him like a human, thanking him when he brought them water from the stocked fridge and smiling when DUM-E beeped happily in return—and played with all the gadgets laying around.
Tony, albeit wearily, let them try on one of the Iron Man helmets from one of his earlier models and explained to them how the suit worked, both of them hanging on to his every word. He showed them the blue prints for his newest model, listening to their suggestions and even writing a few them down to look into later.
Ned, Tony found out, was rather intelligent with computers. He gave him one of his old security systems and watched with genuine interest as the kid hacked into the the files with ease and recoded the entire system in a matter of minutes.
When Tony looked it over, he let out a grunt of an approval, “Nice work, kid.”
Ned all but fainted at Tony’s praise.
The hours slipped by and F.R.I.D.A.Y. being the helpful AI that she is, had ordered pizzas without Tony even having to ask and had them sent to the kitchen, alerting them when they had arrived. Tony led them up to the kitchen, watching with thinly veiled amusement as they both took in every new surrounding with the same amount of interest they had shown in the lab.
Tony continued to observe them as they tore into the pizza like they hadn’t eaten in days and taking a quick glance at the clock, he realized with a flash of guilt, that they had been down in the lab for over four hours and the last time they had probably eaten something would’ve been well over seven or eight hours ago.
It was nice, Tony deiced, listening to their mindless chatter and what was especially nice, was seeing how at ease Peter was with his friend, looking like a true fifteen year old with his friend over to his house on a school night, like he didn’t have super powers, like he didn’t dress up in tight spandex and web his way through Queens and fight crime at night while trying to balance a normal life.
The thought nagged at Tony for the rest of dinner and as he rode silently with them in the backseat while Happy drove them all to Ned’s apartment first, who still looked like he couldn’t believe today was real, thanking Tony breathlessly for the best day of his life and telling Peter he’d see him tomorrow at school.
Peter watched his friend with a small, amused smile and when they got to Peter’s apartment building, Tony glanced over at the kid, the smile still had yet to leave his face.
“Alright kid, this is your stop,” Tony said, making a move to undo his seatbelt, but the kid’s hesitant voice made him pause.
“Mr. Stark?” Peter said softly, clearing his throat, “I uh, just wanted to thank you, you know for well, everything,” the kid breathed, smiling up at him so sincerely that it made Tony’s chest ache in the best sort of way, “today was amazing and I really appreciate you inviting Ned along with us, he really looks up to you, you know? And I haven’t really been able to spend much time with him since, y’know, the whole Spider-Man thing.”
The kid paused before continuing on in a softer voice, “And about Flash, I really, really don’t know how to thank you for that,” he rubbed the back of his neck, clearly embarrassed, “it’s kind of funny, in a way, I’m a sort of super-hero and I can’t even stand up to a bully—“
Tony’s heart squeezed painfully in his chest at the kid’s self-deprecation, “Look, kid, I’m no stranger to bullies,” he began, sighing heavily, “I had my fair share of them when I was in school and even in college. I learned that while you may no be able to physically fight someone, you can always fight them with words and sometimes, words can hurt more than your fists. All I did was give that Flash kid a taste of his own medicine and hopefully, got him off your case.”
Peter was silent for a moment, considering Tony’s words before giving him another appreciative smile, “I don’t think Flash will be messing with me anytime soon, but still, thank you,” Peter’s smile turned shy, “you’re the first adult, other than May, to stand up for me and I really appreciate it, so thank you, Mr. Stark.”
“Call me Tony,” Tony offered after a beat of silence, unsure of how to respond to such a statement.
Whatever he was trying to say, the kid got, because he smiled brightly and Tony, suddenly feeling awkward at the unusual sentimental moment, busied himself with unbuckling his seatbelt, ignoring the warmth in his chest.
He reached around the kid to open the door for him and Peter, rather than getting out, just like last time, he reached up and wrapped his arms around Tony, thinking he was hugging him
“This um, wasn’t a hug,” Tony began awkwardly, “I’m just getting the door for you.”
However, before the kid could pull away, Tony wrapped his arms around him and gave him a quick, but firm squeeze.
Peter gave him another smile before wishing Tony and Happy a goodnight, getting out of the car and making his way up towards his apartment. Tony debated on his next move, mulling it over quickly and before the kid could get too far, he found himself making a snap decision and rolling down he window.
“Hey, Underoos,” Tony started, slightly unsure when the kid turned around and looked at Tony with hopeful eyes.
“Same time, same place tomorrow?” He said after a moment of silence, the kid’s answering grin melting away any self doubt before it could begin.
“Sure Mr.Stark—Tony,” Peter stuttered excitedly, “sounds great!”
Tony watched the kid go with a satisfied smiled, so caught up in his happy little pseudo-family moment that he almost didn’t hear his phone ring.
Not even bothering to glance at the caller I.D., he answered it with a smooth, “Stark.”
“Tony?! What the hell we’re you thinking going to a school and threatening a minor, A MINOR—“
“Talk to my son like that again, and I will end you” - Damian Wayne x Batmom
Summary : Damian is the victim of racism, Batmom steps in to kick some asses.
Just something that popped into my mind one night, after a day of heated argument defending some of my “people of color” friends, like some things get me instantly mad…so I had to write about it and hum…hope you’ll like it :
You didn’t mean to say it on live TV like that…but…The nerves of those people !
It was common knowledge that you didn’t particularly held journalists in your heart.
Some would say it was because any form of media in Gotham was OBSESSED with your family, and you hated the attention you all constantly got.
If you cut your hair, it’d be in the paper, if your sons were spotted hanging out in town, it’d be in the paper, if you and Bruce did something, it’d be in the paper…with ridiculous titles too : “The heir of the Wayne fortune are turning into delinquents !” when all they did was skateboarding around town. “Bruce Wayne and (Y/N) Wayne about to divorce ?” just because Bruce arrived later than you at a gala…So stupid.
Yes, some would say it was because they constantly tried to find a scandal about your family but others…like your husband, would say it was because he used to date a few of those journalists women. And yeah, it was true he did “date” some of those women but, this wasn’t why you disliked journalists.
And Bruce knew it, he’d just tease you with it sometimes to try and relax you because some douchebag wrote lies in the papers about your family…
You knew by marrying Bruce that it would be like that, that you’d always be the center of attention and honestly, when it was just about you ? Or even Bruce ? It was alright. Both of you could handle it.
But when it touched your children ? Oh no. No. And no.
And so, tonight, as someone made a comment about your youngest son..you kinda lost it. And you could already see the title of every articles and such that’ll come out the next day :
“(Y/N) Wayne loses it on live TV”
But this was too much. Your boy already struggled with this at school, he didn’t need it everywhere else…How did they even hear about it anyway ?
Uh…Who were you kidding ? They were journalists, of course they would have heard about your little outburst at Gotham Academy…
Y/N waits anxiously for her date to come. Blind date is never her thing until her colleague said it’s about time she stops being too attached to her work and starts going out there. Nervously she texts her friend about her date’s whereabouts. Getting stood up doesn’t seem to be an option for her since she was basically forced to attend this blind date. All she wants is for this date to be smooth so she can go back home and watch The Bachelorette reruns.
It’s already an hour after their supposed meeting time and her date shows no sign of coming. Disappointed, she lets out a heavy sigh and cues the waiter to hand her the menu. She might not have a good date but at least she’d have some good meal.
“A table for one, then, Miss?” the waiter asks, trying to hide his sympathy.
“Seems so,” she mumbles lightly, “What if he walked in, saw me, and left? Oh, God… I’m gonna kill Mary.”
Not knowing what to answer, the waiter proceeds to wrap the fancy dining utensils which her date should be using by now. The sound of the plates clanking against each other had several people looking at her way with pitiful expressions and she just wants to bury herself. She leans in her chair to avoid the gazes and angrily texts her friend. She must’ve been so caught up in the state of her inner wrath that she doesn’t realize a tap on her shoulder.
“Yeah, sorry, yeah?” she still looks at her phone, not really paying attention to the person who is talking to her.
“You seem very… distraught. Mind if I sit here?”
She goes silent for a while, trying to put together the new scene in front of her. There, stands the Harry Styles in an undeniably attractive fashion choice. His hair is styled with a little quiff and the look is final with a friendly smile upon his face.
Harry snorts seeing her genuine reaction, “Mind if I sit by the empty seat?”
She shakes her head, confusion still written on her face as Harry sits and motions the waiter to pour him some wine.
“What’re you looking at?” he asks since she has been staring at him the whole time.
She blinks away her own disbelief and opens her mouth slowly — almost a whisper that if he doesn’t come closer he won’t be able to hear her, “Aren’t you Harry Styles?”
“Yes, I am,” he answers in a whisper as well.
“You’re not my blind date, are you?”
“No, ‘m not,” he chuckles. By now, they’re only inches apart since they’re whispering and each tries to get what the other is saying in such a crowded place.
Harry continues, “Why are we whispering?”
She leans back, still puzzled of the sight in front of her. She’s supposed to have a date with a close friend of her colleague’s who’s described as pretty much nothing like the man sitting on his supposed place.
Harry giggles, “I sat behind you. You were anxious for the past hour, tossing and turning ‘round like a little whirligig.”
She blushes. It’s her thing. She’s not a very serious person, she’s just very much bubbly and impulsive and all that. She easily laughs at the lamest jokes, she gets panic over the silliest little things, she’s just very in the moment. That’s understandable how Harry finds her funny and interesting enough to get him turn around and talk to her. He doesn’t find this kind of personality often around him and he’d love to get to know people who are downright spontaneous in a world full of plans and agendas.
“Are you alone? Here, I mean,” she raises an eyebrow.
“Let’s just say we had the same unfortunate event tonight,” he winks.
“No fucking way!” she closes her mouth with her hands, “How can the Harry Styles got stood up?”
To this outspoken question, he bursts into laughter. He’s accustomed to people being awed by his presence but he never sees such honesty. He always has people far up his ass, saying things to his liking. This situation, for instance: if he were to be talking to one of the said people, they would definitely backbite the girl who stood him up. But this girl doesn’t care about Harry Styles, she looks like she’s just really excited to hear a story from her old friend, Harry.
“Do you think she walked in, saw me, and left?” he mimicked her low question earlier.
She pouts. He chuckles. He’s been chuckling a whole lot more in the past hour than he usually does in a week.
“I love your music, by the way.”
His eyes light up and do the talking for him: really?
“Yeah, love it. Sorta reminds me of the good music, you know the golden era of rock and roll,” she runs her on the tablecloth pattern, “Not saying that nowadays’ music isn’t good or anything. It’s just… yours seem very truthful and different — a good different, of course. Oh, God… I’m sorry I have a tendency to ramble on.”
“Don’t apologize. I find it soothing.”
“You talking,” he straightens up himself.
“You’re so full of it,” she laughs outright.
They talk about music for almost an hour, how she thinks one of his tracks reminds her of Electric Light Orchestra and how he voluntarily spills his classified personal approach towards that album. She says she likes bands from the 70s and his album brings back the vibes back that she thinks had long left the music industry and he can’t help but feel appreciated in the sincerest way possible. He tells her how they produced the album in Jamaica and how he wanted to put so much of himself in the album. She admits how she listens to his album in the midst of working, shower, jogging, sometimes even when she just feels like dancing by herself in her room.
And he can’t stop smiling, can’t stop beaming, can’t stop enjoying the sight of a person who just gets him. It feels like she presses a click inside him.
“I really hope you get to make more music,” she speaks lightly as she chews her meal.
“You know…” he puts down his fork, “Since we seem to have the same taste in music, I have exclusive access to a Roger Waters’ gig this weekend.”
Her eyes widen as he goes on, “Would you like to come? I can pick you up.”
“Harry— I don’t think I can take advantage of you like that.”
Harry melts upon her confession. Any person with that offer usually takes it in a blink of an eye but here she is, rejecting a grand opportunity because she doesn’t want him to feel used.
“You’re not taking any advantage out of me.”
“If you let me pay you back then I’m definitely in,” she smiles.
He frowns, “Now that’s not how my mum raised me as a man taking a woman to a date.”
She’s taken aback by his word choice but before she could answer, a girl approaches Harry.
“Harry, I’m so sorry. I didn’t know it was you,” she grabs him by his arm. Being a gentleman he is, he immediately stands up.
“You are…?” he asks. His eyes go back and forth from the girl to Y/N, as if saying he doesn’t know what the hell is going on.
“I’m Emily. Nick set us up?” the girl seems confused after seeing Y/N and tries to remind Harry of his supposed blind date.
“Emily, yeah, right…” his voice trails slowly as he looks over Y/N who seems somewhat out of place.
There is a clear muzziness written on Emily’s face. Y/N can tell Harry is a courteous man who can never be rude to anyone, hence she completely understands that he’s in a dilemma as in how to send her off and that the seat is no longer hers. So, she does what she thinks is right.
“Well, it turns out we don’t have the same unfortunate event tonight,” an ingenuous smile spreads across her cheeks, “I had just finished. Have a great night you two.”
She mutters a goodbye and thank you to Harry and finds her way to exit the restaurant. She doesn’t feel any remorse whatsoever. If anything, she feels lucky enough to have a heartfelt talk with someone as wonderful as Harry.
Although, she can’t help but wonder if he actually means the last word he said. They don’t even have each other’s phone number so that date can’t ever occur. She won’t lie that she feels a little disappointed but then again, they’re not supposed to be having dinner together in the first place.
So she casually walks down the street. A disbelief giggle leaves her mouth. She still can’t believe she actually just had dinner with one of the people from her iPod.
She decides to put an earphone and hums to a song as she reaches the crossroad.
“There was love all around, but I never heard it singing,” she almost jumps when someone no other than the Harry Styles himself singing the song she’s listening to right beside her in a crowded crossroad. Apparently, her hums are not that soft that he can sing along.
She’s surprised but can’t hide her excitement to see him by her side.
“No, I never heard it at all till there was you,” he ends with a smile.
She grabs off her earphone, “Thought you had a date back there?”
“I did,” he puts his hands into his coat pockets, “Had to get her back home safely now, didn’t I?“
She just grins, unsure of what is happening. She just keeps pinching herself hoping this isn’t one of her unrealistic dreams.
“You didn’t realize I was right behind you the whole time, eh?”
“I was just… thinking,” she reasons as she feels her cheeks turn fire red.
“About our date this weekend?” a cheeky smile appears on his pretty face and to that she just rolls her eyes.
His hand finds his way to embrace the side of her body and she leans into his broad chest as she hands him one tip of her earphone, the other tip being in her ear and they just keep humming on the way home, enjoying each other’s company and the unfortunate event they had tonight.
What if Bitty and Jack met when he came to do a tour of Samwell campus? Just like the frogs?
Maybe Coach’s team had a game not too far from there and he dropped Bitty at Samwell with intentions to pick him up later.
17 year old Bitty nervously and wide eyed walking around, already imagining himself in Samwell, when he turns around and realises he can’t see the group.
After some panicking he decided to head to the ice rink because he knows that will be part of the tour, and he can wait there till the other guys show up.
Practice is over at this point, but there’s somebody still taking shots at the net so Bitty sits out of the way and tries not to look too amazed by the skills the guy is showing.
Jack, eventually notices him and approaches to get him to leave, Bitty explains he is there waiting for the group and Jack tells him the group already passed through the building.
“Wait,” Jack says when he realises what this means, “are you applying to Samwell? To play… hockey?”
Bitty awkwardly shrugs, “I already got in with a scholarship I just wanted to see the campus.”
Jack is horrified and demands that Bitty puts some skates and joins him on the ice. Thankfully Bitty had his skates with him and they play and Jack is a little annoyed because Bitty managed to score on him once, Jack scored 3 times which is actually not bad on the rookie.
He asks for Bitty’s email address.
“I’m sending you a workout program and a diet plan, you need to bulk up before the season, I want you to keep me updated on your progress and send me your stats, actually send them to Ransom he keeps track of that…”
Bitty wide eyed just nods along, trying not to cough a lung out.
“The checking is going to be an issue, we’ll think of something…”
Jack here sees Bitty and sees potential, he has a few months before Bitty will join them so he is determined to get him up to his standards by then.
And that’s how Bitty ends up becoming long distance friends with the Samwell group. Ransom and Holster keep track of his stats and give him tips on all the stuff he should do before coming to college, Shitty writes a long essay about how he hopes Bitty isn’t some dickhead from the south and then goes into weird tangents about feminism and social justice.
Jack messages him all the time asking if he’s eating enough protein, if he did the latest workout he sent and if he studied for his math exam.
Bitty replies to all the emails a little weirded out but happy he sort of will know people when he arrives, and also he sends pies, a lot of pies.
Ransom and Holster send a lot of emojis in gratitude, Shitty somehow finds his phone number and calls him to tell him what a magnificent person he is, and Jack calls to remind him to eat more protein.
And I don’t know where this is going besides this, I was just intrigued by the idea they could have met Bitty before he joined Samwell, feel free to take it from here :)
Ahhhh can I request headcannons for the dads when their kid gets married?? (Bonus for Dadsona and Amanda!!!!)
i got this bro -dad dan
Mat and Carmensita- Mat insists on having the wedding at his coffee shop, casually decorating the store with white drapes and flowers. He closes his store for a day and spends a long time baking a cake and pastries for a small buffet table. It would be a super chill and cozy wedding with acoustic music and slow dancing. During the vows, Mat gives Carmensita and her spouse matching daisy flower crowns. They aren’t the best crowns, but he did his best making them, staying up all night watching a youtube tutorial on how to braid them. He’s emotional when it’s all over. He’s happy for Carmensita- it reminds him how he felt when he got married.
Brian and Daisy- Brian goes all out because his daughter deserves only the best. They have the wedding in the backyard of his house. Brian rents lots of white chairs and tables, and asks the guests to bring home baked food for the buffet table. He builds a little gazebo for them to say their vows in and paints it white. He sat in it for a while and got really sad and emotional because his daughter is gonna say her vows in it, right where he’s sitting. When the wedding finally comes around the entire family is there, and he’s beaming as he walks her down the aisle.
Craig and Briar/Hazel/River- Craig had been a little sad since all the girls moved out for college. When Briar and Hazel got married, they decided to combine their wedding into one huge event. But when River got married, the sisters agreed to have it at the abandoned softball field they used to play at. When Craig hears this he’s estatic. He starts cleaning up the field and helping the girls with all the arrangements. During the wedding he can’t stop crying because oh god that’s his baby. Grown up. Getting married. When everyone’s gone the four of them play catch with each other (imagine the twins going into a professional softball league? yes)
Chris/Christie/Christian/Crish- He rents out a beach for all of his kids’ weddings. He hires a choir, a mini band, a bartender for a minibar, as well as a high-end catering service. He invites everyone in the church and the entire family. Joseph spares no expense for all four weddings- the decorations, food, and music are all the best he could get. He tries to be happy during the wedding, but he can’t- he’s worried that they’ll end up in a marriage like his and Mary’s. He hopes that- maybe, if the wedding is nice enough- they’d be happy.
Hugo and Ernest- As Ernest grew older, he grew closer with Hugo. He was the first person Ernest told when he got engaged. Early on in high school he discovered his love for animals- he went to the zoo and aquarium with Hugo a lot. They decide to plan the wedding at the aquarium. During the ceremony the guests can’t stop looking at the fish, a penguin gives birth, and someone sets off a fire alarm (Lucien, probably), but Hugo couldn’t be happier for Ernest.
Damien and Lucien- Damien thought Lucien would want a great wedding- something extravagant with a big venue and gorgeous decorations. But after talking to him about the preparations, it became apparent that Lucien had too much anxiety for a huge event like that. Instead, Damien went to the courthouse with Lucien and his spouse. They signed papers there and had a small party afterwards. Damien was excited for Lucien all the same and was still incredibly excited the entire time.
Robert and Val- Val invites Robert up to Brooklyn for the wedding. When Robert got the invitation, he couldn’t believe it- partly because he was invited, and partly because she was engaged and he didn’t know. The surprise turned into guilt, and the guilt turned into panic. He had no idea what he was going to get her. Even though she assured him that he didn’t need to get her a gift, he found a perfect one- something he knows she’s wanted since she was a kid. At the wedding, he gives her a small Boston Terrier- and she loves it.
Dadsona and Amanda- Dadsona was surprised when Amanda announced she was getting married. She said she didn’t want to make a big deal out of it- which reminded the Dad of the last time they had a celebration. Dadsona planned the wedding in the backyard and surprised Amanda with it, just like he did at her graduation party. Dadsona gets emotional while setting everything up- a small, cheesy wedding with a mac bar and ice cream cake. He invites all the dads in the cul de sac and their kids. Dadsona watches Amanda and her spouse sit under the cherry blossom tree, just like he did when he fell in love.
i’ve seen a lot of these posts but none of them really aligned with my experience. so here it is, how to survive freshman year from one of many sophomores in this community. please take everything here with a grain of salt.
before school starts:
you will not need nearly as many notebooks as you think you do. please, save yourself the time and money and hold off on buying them until you know how many you need.
try not to get stuck in the school’s mindset of what classes you need. for example, most freshmen in my school (on a trimester system) take Bio 1, Chem 1, then Chem 2. i took all of those classes, but i really didn’t need to take bio 1 because i’m planning to complete my bio credits with AP Bio (and also bio is one of my stronger subjects). chem 1 and 2 are the only prerequisites for AP Bio, so what i should have done was drop Bio 1 and take a fine arts class instead to fill up those requirements. tl;dr: play to your strengths and don’t listen to the school when they tell you something is “highly recommended”.
if you’re doing a sport, please know when you have to turn in paperwork to play. don’t miss the deadline or put off your physical.
when school starts:
try not to pack too much in your backpack on the first day. paper, writing utensils, a jacket, water (reusable bottles will save your life), your lunch/money, and your student id!!! (very important) should cut it.
take a picture of your schedule on your phone. if you get a map mark where your classes are and take a pic of that too. chances are that flimsy piece of paper dictating your entire day will get torn, crumpled or lost. i’ve seen people say it looks horribly freshman-like if you carry around your schedule all day, if that’s a thing you worry about.
if you get a class you don’t like (that’s not a required class), switch out of it asap. don’t try and suffer through it for the credits. it will suck.
it’s not a big deal if you need to drop or raise a level. do what’s best for your gpa. don’t feel horribly inferior if there are freshmen taking 2 APs when you’re taking none (like me) because they probably took classes over the summer. they’re not geniuses, i promise.
PLEASE, try not to carry too much stuff in your backpack. at my school we don’t have lockers and my shoulders suffered because i thought i could bring a 1L bottle, three reading books, my thick jacket, and two large pencil case along with all my school stuff.
YOUR SCHOOL ID IS YOUR LIFELINE. try your best not to lose it, and if you do, replace it as soon as possible.
if you have the extra money, buying two sets of pe clothes is incredibly helpful. trust me on this.
don’t stress too much, it’s really not as bad as it seems.
once school is well underway:
don’t freak out if you do badly on a test. one of my friends got a d on her midterm and ended up having an a in the class. you’ll have time to pull it up.
at the same time, don’t slack either. people say freshman grades aren’t that important, especially if you show improvement in later years, but don’t let your grades go to the dogs. freshman year is the time to build good habits, and colleges really like to see unweighted 4.0s (or so i’ve heard)
be nice to your teachers. even if they’re demon spawn. my friend had a much nicer time than i did with our hellish english teacher simply because she talked to her a lot while i barely spoke at all. if your teachers like you they might be more willing to round your grade up or give you extra credit work.
do your best to always be prepared and have your stuff with you. it’s not fun having to ask around for stuff.
join some clubs. it helps with meeting new people and finding things you love. if they have competitions, it doesn’t look bad on your resume if you win any.
if your school offers the PSAT to freshmen, take it. it’s a good way to look at where you are versus where you want to be come junior year when you’re eligible for the NMSQT.
volunteer! get those hours in when you still have time. weekends are great if you aren’t too busy then.
try to have the phone number of at least one person in each of your classes. group chats are also great, because people aren’t online all the time and you can ask a bunch of people for help all at once. don’t let them distract you, though. a lot of my group chats like to wander off topic and talk about other things.
homework is gonna take a lot longer than it did in middle school. utilize the time you have effectively and do what it takes to make sure you’re ready to get to work. for example, one of my friends would always nap right after school for a few hours, and then do her homework later. i usually grab a snack and go on my phone for a few minutes to revitalize.
if you have time during school, try doing your homework then. you’ll still be in the school mindset and people will be around for you to ask for help.
try not to stay up past midnight. you really won’t need to, and you’ll be glad for the extra sleep. if you have to choose between finishing a small math assignment or going to sleep early for a test tomorrow, take the hit for the assignment and get some sleep.
people and relationships:
dating in freshman year tends to be quite ephemeral. if you don’t, good for you. no one will judge you. if you do, good for you. don’t prioritize it though, and be prepared for your friends to constantly tease you about it.
don’t date people older than you, especially seniors. i know this has been said a thousand times, but for good reason. please. do not.
making friends with people in higher grades is always a good thing, though! in my experience, juniors love freshmen and are probably the easiest to make friends with. they’re really good if you need some advice and you don’t have to worry about them leaving next year. seniors will honestly not care about you unless you see them often. sophomores have a reputation of bullying freshmen (at least in my school), but a lot of them are nice and will be in some of your classes.
for me, high school actually had more drama than middle school. don’t be afraid to drop friends and don’t be worried if you lose any; you’ll make better ones later.
a lot of the kids in my middle school went to a different high school, so i was basically starting from Ground Zero regarding friends. don’t be too concerned if you don’t click with people right away; i found most of my current friends during the second and third trimesters.
bring a charger or a power bank to school if you know you’re gonna need it. you’ll be able to charge your phone during class (if your teacher is ok with it) and if you ask around for one chances are you won’t get it.
bring snacks. most teachers are pretty chill about you snacking during class, and it’s better to have your own stuff than mooch off your friends.
the rules are more flexible. you can use your phone in class depending on the teacher, they even let you listen to music while they’re teaching if you have earbuds.
go to the dances if you want. i didn’t go to any because i’m lazy and also i like to spend my money on other things, but a lot of my friends consider it an important part of the high school experience. football games can be fun too, even if you don’t like football (like me). there’ll be band and cheer and dance if you’re into that, and you can also hang out with your friends (the ones from the school your school is playing too!) and eat really unhealthy snacks. same with pep rallies, except no food.
if your school has a newsletter or weekly news videos, pay attention to them. they usually have important information on where new clubs are meeting, spirit weeks, deadlines, events, etc.
everyone is really spirited the first month or so and then after that they don’t care. follow their lead.
talk to your teachers if you need help. they’ll do their best to work something out for you.
there’s gonna be that one person who thinks the world revolves around them and gets on your nerves. chances are everyone else hates them too. be nice to them, but don’t hang around them.
you’re not alone. everyone else is just as worried as you. have fun, and don’t sweat it.
A/N: I was actually really happy with how this one turned out. I hope you guys like it xxx Request: Yes! What about about something with Harry and the daughter of Meg and Hercules? Idk with that wit I feel like they would be a good pair ya know! Words: 3700 (Holy shit this was a lot longer than planned) Warnings: Swearing and Fluff
“Ben! I said no. Which word don’t you understand?” “Come on Y/N, I’m desperate. What am I supposed to do? Turn him away?” “Come to think of it that’s not such a bad idea” You knew something was up when Ben called you to his office that morning, he only had meetings there when he wanted something from you. And sure enough, there you were, being sucked into some plan you wanted nothing to do with. “Y/N it’s not permanent! Just until we make some other arrangements” he said, looking at you with wide eyes, a tactic that usually caused you to cave in. “I don’t see why it always has to be me!” You fired back, crossing your arms over your chest in protest. You refused to back down. Being the daughter of Hercules and Meg meant you were fiercely competitive in a way that was often confused for blatant stubbornness, and felt less than enthusiastic to take orders from somebody else. You liked to make your own rules. “Well, you’re the only student left who doesn’t have a room-mate” “Fine. Then I’ll take Uma. She seems to just want to keep to herself which is perfectly fine by me.” You didn’t mind really compromising too much, you’re mothers nature as much of a part of your personality as your father’s. “She’s rooming with Mal and Evie”. You spluttered and tried to stop yourself from laughing, knowing full well that living arrangement wouldn’t last for long. “Queen of hearts daughter?” “With Lonnie” You rolled your eyes and sighed “Okay then, never mind. What about Gil? Gil seems pretty harmless” “With Jay and Carlos” “Leah Gothel?” “Staying with Jane” “Come on Ben, work with me! What about… um … I don’t know … Hayley Facilier?” “She’s with Audrey. Look Y/N, I’m only asking because there’s no other option. We’re all out of rooms!”. You tapped your feet, there was no way you were giving up that easily. “I swear there’s a rule about boys and girls having separate rooms” “ Y/N, I’m King, I make the rules” You huffed once more, taking another deep breath before making a decision you knew you’d regret. “Okay fine! I’ll room with the pirate!” Ben’s eyes lit up "What did you say his name is again?“ “Harry. Harry Hook. Thanks Y/N! You won’t regret this!” He said, grabbing your shoulders and pulling you to your dorm. ‘Hmmm” you answered, not entirely convinced the King was right.
You stopped and turned to Ben one more time before opening your dorm door. “This is going to end badly,” you said flatly. ‘You’ve already said that" “Yeah, well it seemed worth repeating”. He chuckled at you, clearly thinking you were joking. You weren’t. “Come on. He can’t be that bad,” Ben replied, opening the door for you and peering inside your dorm. He nearly jumped out of his skin. “Oh ..wow! This is, well… Different”. Different was an understatement. You felt your blood start to boil as a you were faced with a tall, red leather jacket clad brunette, swing from your light fitting, painting a red line onto the ceiling that travelled down the walls and across the floor. Most of the walls were tagged with black and red graffiti reading “We ride with the tide” and the floors were already cluttered with miscellaneous pirate paraphernalia. It was safe to say you lost your cool. “WHAT THE HELL HAVE YOU DONE TO MY ROOM!” You screamed charging towards the boy, leaving Ben sheepishly in the doorway. He dropped from the ceiling so he was stood in front of you, twirling a paintbrush in one hand, a silver hook in the other. “I decided to make some, how do I put this, improvements. Didn’t think yeh’d mind” He grinned at you taking another step towards you, putting his face uncomfortably close yours. “The names Harry Hook … And you are?” “GOING TO KILL YOU!” You pushed him backwards “Get this off my walls right now!” You yelled gesturing to the spray paint covering every surface as you charged around the dorm. “Aren’t ye just a ray of bloody sunshine” he retorted, whistling an unfamiliar tune as he strutted over towards you. “Oh, and seeing as we are skipping the introductions, I thought I’d tell yeh, you’re on my side of the room darlin’ ”. Your eyes darted towards the pirate, to Ben, and then to the red line, separating one section to the other room to the other. He couldn’t be serious. “Oh you’ve got to be kidding me” you muttered, starting to square up to Harry who was still grinning at you like a lunatic. He reached forwards, biting the air in front of you. “Trust me when I say that I don’t do jokes” he replied, barely above a whisper, pushing his hook into the centre of your chest. You shoved it away. “Ben!” You yelled expecting the King to say something, anything that would be of any use to the situation. He didn’t. “Well, I’ve got to be going” Ben replied nervously, starting to walk away “I’ll leave you two to… um.. work things out for yourselves” “Ben! Don’t you dare walk away from me right now!” You shouted after him but it was too late, he was already gone. “I wouldn’t waste your breath princess, he’s gone” “I’m not a princess” you growled, charging towards the door after Ben “I’m the daughter of Hercules which makes me a goddess” you added pointedly. “Ooo, I’m so incredibly sorry your Royal highness. Do forgive me for forgetting to bow down” he replied sarcastically pretending not to have heard you, waving his hook flamboyantly before curtsying. “I’M NOT A FUCKING PRINCESS! Now look! In fact you know what.. Forget this.” You charged out of the room but stuck your head, back around the door frame. “This isn’t over Hook” “Ready for round two when you are…” He paused for a second and smirked “… Princess” You screamed at him as you stormed down the hallway, knowing full well that life just got a whole lot more difficult.
When you returned to your room later that night, you vowed to prepare for an all out war. Harry Hook was by far the most snarky, inconsiderate human being you had ever met and despite the fact that, yes you found him wildly physically attractive, you wanted him as far away from you as humanly possible. Your plan, as genius as it was, was relatively simple. Annoy the shit out of him until he had no choice but to leave. It was going to be fun.
“Y/N, WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING! IT’S 3AM” The pirate pulled himself up from his from his bed, clutching at his ears, glaring at you through the darkness. Struggling to stand up properly, he reached for the light switch, flooding the dorm room with light. There you were, casually vacuuming the carpet in the middle of the night, making sure to create as much noise as humanly possible. “I THOUGHT, YOU KNOW THE PLACE COULD DO WITH A LITTLE CLEAN UP,” you yelled, competing for your voice to be heard above the whirring of the vacuum. You smirked to yourself, the look on Harry’s face was priceless, a mixture of anger and pure confusion. “TURN IT OFF” “Nope!” You said in a sing song voice, continuing to move the vacuum up and down across the carpet. “Y/N I said turn it off now!” Harry growled, charging towards you and taking it from your hands. “You know, I don’t find you at all intimidating while you’re stood in pyjamas with tiny pirate ships on them” you cooed at him, squeezing his cheeks “Coochy Coochy coo!” Harry looked down at himself, bare chested wearing only a pair of rather embarrassing shorts. You chuckled at his scowl. “I could hurt yeh” he said, pulling himself closer and teasing through your hair with his hook “My enemies don’t usually last this long before I hook their pretty little faces” “Oh how sweet of you! You must really love me then because the last time I checked my face was still in tact”. You placed a piece of gum you were chewing on the end of his hook and danced on back to bed. “You’ll regret doing this Y/N,” he said bitterly, pulling the vacuum chord and trudging back over to his bed. “Sure I will. Right, well I do love having these little chats with you but I have an important meeting with Fairy Godmother in the morning so I’m going to sleep” With that the lights turned out and you collapsed backwards into bed, feeling slightly accomplished. “You don’t know what you’ve started princess” whispered the pirate inaudible “You don’t know what you’ve started”
King Ben didn’t really know what to expect when he trudged back up to Y/N’s dorm room the following morning. There had been noise complaints all night from neighbouring rooms on the same wing so he had guessed they still hadn’t worked out their very apparent differences. He knocked on their door but after no reply he pushed it open himself. He had no idea what to say when he walked in on you pelting Harry with your shoes. “I swear down Hook where are they?” You howled, picking up a flip flop and throwing it in Harry’s general direction. He dodged it, virtually crying from laughter as you continue to stomp about. “I have absolutely no idea what yeh talking about Y/N” he chuckled, clearly lying, catching a high heel and lobbing it back towards you. “Harry! Please! I have to go, where are my shoes?” You begged, trying to reason with him. “They’re all over the bloody place!” Neither of you had even noticed Ben standing there observing your thought-provoking behaviour. “YOU THINK I DON’T KNOW THAT! THEY’RE ALL LEFT SHOES! THERE ARE NO FULL PAIRS” Harry convulsed with laughter again until a ballet pump hit him in the face mid-flight. “Now was that really necessary Princess?” “I’M NOT A PRINCESS FOR THE LAST TIME!” You yelled at him, finally deciding that you would just have to go barefoot. You spotted Ben “I told you this was a bad idea” you said, waggling your finger at him. The poor King was speechless. “Prin-cess, prin-cess,prin-cess…” Harry started chanting in a whisper, causing you to shoot round and glare at him. He was still smirking. “It’s okay Harry,” You said as you left with Ben, “Because last night, after I finished vacuuming, I fed your pirate hat through the paper shredder”
You and Harry refused to speak to each other until the next morning, when you continued your plan to irritate Harry until he had no choice but to move out. Subtlety was key in your opinion, so all of your moves were small and calculated. “Morning Harry” you said as sweetly as you could manage, “I made you coffee”. The boy, furrowed his eyebrows, confused by the gesture but took the mug anyway. ‘You ever hear of a little bit of gratitude?“ You mumbled as you made your way into the bathroom to brush your teeth. “Apparently not. Please, enlighten me. Give me the benefit of ye vast wisdom” he replied sarcastically, following you. “Keep rolling your eyes Hook, you might find your brain back their”. You ran your toothbrush under the tap as he winked at you through the bathroom mirror. He took a sip of his coffee. “Did you?” He spat the whole thing out “Ye petty little shit. Replacing sugar with salt. I bet ye finding this so very funny aren’t yeh” Harry said completely deadpan. “Hilarious actually” you remarked, putting the toothpaste onto the bristles and starting to brush your teeth. “You know what’s even more hilarious?” He started, so you turned your head to face him. The corners of his lips tugged up into a smirk. “Last night, I used your toothbrush”
“Ben I can’t do this anymore!” You complained to your best friend as you headed to the Tourney fields. “What do you mean?” “I woke up this morning to find that he had covered the entirety of my side of the room in pink post it notes, including me, when I was sleeping!” you said, throwing your hands up in the air Ben gave you a stern look. “Y/N you’re even worse. Yesterday, when you took his hook, he spent the whole day traipsing around campus with a pirate map you gave him, trying to find it. After all that you’d hidden it under his bed!” “That was pretty funny though” you said, trying to contain your giggles. “See you’re just as bad as each other. If I didn’t know any better I’d think you even liked him” You punched the King in the arm playfully. As much as you wanted it not to be true, you had a sneaking suspicion that Ben was right. All you could think about was Harry, whether it was good or bad, and in some very strange way you began growing fond of the pirate. It was very worrying and you wanted more than anything for it to stop “Ben you don’t know anything”
You returned back to your room that night, carrying the next stage of the plan. Smiling to yourself as you propped open the door with one hand, cradling Harry’s surprise with the other. “Honey I’m home!” You screeched jokingly. “Aren’t I just over the moon” Harry replied, jumping up from the sofa holding one of my dresses which he had cut holes into. Then he looked at me. “What the hell are ye holding?” “Oh this,” you said, setting it down on the floor “This Harry is a cat.” The kitten looked at me before darting off, springing up onto the window sill and curling up into a ball to sleep. “I know it’s a fucking cat Y/N. I want to know why ye brought it into our room” he said, quieter than you would have expected, bringing his face extremely close to yours again. You could feel his breath against you skin. “Do you always use flirting as an intimidation technique or is it just me who’s personal space you invade on a daily basis” “Y/N! I’m allergic to cats” “Oh really! I never knew that.” You lied. Of course you knew, that was the whole reason you got the cat in the first place. “Mr Shnookem’s is staying exactly where he is” “I’m telling ye now Y/N, the first time you take yeh eyes of that thing I’ll…” You pushed your index finger to his lips, taking him by surprise. “ Shhh I don’t want to hear it Harry” You dropped your hand and walked to Mr Shnookem’s, just as he sneezed hysterically, giggling to yourself as you felt his eyes burn into you.
*Short time skip to the end of the week*
“HAROLD FUCKING HOOK!” “Geez Y/N, with the amount of times you scream my name a day next door probably think we are…” “What have you done with him?” You had woken up to find Mr Shnookem’s was no longer sat at the foot of your bed like he did every night, and had spent the whole morning searching for him. You had checked everywhere the kitten could have wander off to, to no avail, with Harry being the only logical culprit for his disappearance. “Yeh not seriously talking about that mangey cat are ye?” He asked barely looking up from the bowl of cake he was eating “That cat never did anything to you” you spat “Well, tell me! What have you done with him?” Harry raised an eyebrow at you, still not moving. “I didn’t touch the stupid thing. Ye probably scared it off with ye non-stop scre…” “I HATE YOU!” You slammed your hands down on the table Harry was sat at. You loved that cat and were becoming more concerned and annoyed at Harry every second he refused to tell you where it’d gone. Harry slammed his bowl full of cake down and stood up, to stare you in the eye. “Oh, ye hate me?” The pirate began “Join the club! There are weekly meetings at the corner of Fuck You Street and Kiss my Ass Boulevard” “And to think I was finally warming up to the idea of becoming friends with you,” You said, but the tone was far more dispirited than you had expected it to be. You turned and started to trudge away, before the pirate could see you tear up. “Can ye stop accusing me for one min… Wait, are ye crying?” Harry’s voice softened towards the end of his sentence, a hint of confusion etched into the Scottish accent. As much as you tried, you couldn’t help but cry. You looked back at Harry with blurry eyes, watching his shift in demeanour as he tried to work out what to do about the situation. “I want my cat back!” You wailed like a toddler, your face crumpling as you wiped your running nose, no longer caring what he thought of you. Harry dropped his smirk and instinctively pulled you into a hug, wrapping his strong arms around, and stroking the back of your head. “Ye know I really didn’t do anything to him” he started, squeezing you a little tighter. “But if that stupid cat means that much to ye, I’ll help ye find it” You shuffled backwards a little, looking up at Harry who towered slightly above you. “Thanks,” you said meekly “I’d like that”.
Harry took your hand as you scowered the grounds of Auradon Prep for the runaway cat, purposefully ignoring your gaze as your palms brushed beside one another. It had become dark by now so the two of you began calling out for the kitten, pointing a torch in the direction of any trees or bushes where he could have been hiding. “MR SHNOOKEM’S!” Harry called out, “Ye couldn’t have picked a more ridiculous name now could ye?” “Hey! I think it’s cute,” you defended “Ridiculous, yes, but cute. MR SHNOOKEMS!” “Sounds like somebody I know” the pirate mumbled. “Did you jus…” “MR SHNOOKEMS!” Yelled Harry cutting you off mid-sentence. Your eyes lingered on Harry’s face, fixated on the blue of his eyes. He caught you smiling at him. “What?” He asked. “Nothing it’s just, maybe you’re not as bad as I thought” “Are ye softening up to me Y/N?” Harry joked, a hint of cheekiness leaking back into his accent. “Shut it! The word bad is still in the sentence” You laughed, lacing your fingers tighter with his. “Oh thank god! I would have had to cancel my war plans if not. Ye should see what I have planned for tomorrow” “Of all the possible villains, why did I have to get you?” You sighed theatrically, clearly joking. 'Of all the princess’s why did I have to get…“ At the mention of the word princess you shoved Harry backwards, causing him to stumble and fall head first into one of the flowerbeds surrounding the castle. You burst into hysterical laughter, before offering a hand to the pirate, who was whispering profanities to himself “Yeh way stronger than you look ye kn… Well, well well, look what we have here!” From the flower bed Harry pulled a very scruffy but easily recognisable Mr Shnookem’s, scooping it up in his arms and handing him you. Immediately, you nuzzled your face into the cats fur, wrapping it in a warm embrace. A beaming smile spread across both of your faces, as the two of you let out an ecstatic cheer, Harry grabbing one of your hands to twirl around in glee, celebrating at your success. “We found him!” You giggled. “I found him,” Harry corrected, sticking his tongue out at you and reeling you in closer with the hand he had been spinning you with You pouted. “I love you” you said, barely above a whisper. “If ye tell that damn cat ye love him one more time, I swear I’ll…” “I wasn’t talking about to the cat” There was an uneasy silence that seemed to last a lifetime “Y/N, your lip’s bleeding” “How can that possibly matter?,” you said panicked at the confession you accidentally made and the fact that Harry wasn’t reacting “Did you not hear what I just sa..” He didn’t give you time to react before he leaned in and kissed you, a subtle taste of metallic blood lingering across your lips. He ran his hand down your neck and along your collarbone, pulling away and blinking at you. You flung yourself into his arms, Mr Shnookem’s and all, letting go of the remaining reservations you had about the pirate boy . You ran your fingers along Harry’s cheekbones, down his chest and curving onto his back, tracing the contours of his shoulders blades. You felt him shudder slightly at your touch creating a the buzz of electricity. You reached for his hand, pressing your thumb against his wrist as he snuggled into your hair. You could feel the blood going through his veins, an indicator of how fast his heart was beating. Neither of you moved until the kitten climbed between the two of you and began to lick Harry’s face. You laughed a little. “See, Mr Shnookem’s does like you” “I’m still allergic to the bloody thing” Harry shot back, pushing you playfully by the shoulder to get the cat away from him. “It’s a good job I picked up these for you then,” You said, reaching into you back pocket and shaking a tub of allergy medication at Harry. He titled his head at you, staring into your eyes with a mixture of curiosity and amusement. “What?” You said, picking at a thread on your jumper nervously "You forgot to pick up your prescription” Harry let out a hearty belly laugh and wrapped you back into a hug, squeezing you until you have to pull away for air. “Daughter of Hercules” “Son of Hook” “I. Love. You”. Harry brushed his lips gently against your forehead sending you into another fit of giggles. “Does this mean we can get rid of the red line in our dorm room now?” “Ye know what, that doesn’t sound like the worse idea”
Anon Asked: Hi hi can I get a fluff reaction where bts member accidentally imply marriage to s/o then gets embarrassed about it? Like says something like “at our wedding” or “when we get married”
Hope you like it! - Admin Chimin
Namjoon: It was around midnight and you couldn’t go to sleep, luckily for you Namjoon was there to make everything better. You two started talking about the future you both had in mind and something slipped up…
“I want a small wedding, only with the boys of course, your friends, my parents and your parents” he smiled sweetly at you.
Your eyes went wide, of course you were excited that he plans to marry you. But for some reason I don’t think he knows what he said.
“You want to marry me?” you blink, sitting up.
“Of course I want to marry you! You’re my girl after all”
Seokjin: You were out on a walk with your boyfriend, the leash in his leading to the small pug huffing and puffing along Han river. “This is where I want to get married, I wonder how many people we can fit here..” that simple sentence stopped your heart. You two both stopped walking, he turned to you looking like he was gonna throw up.
“I-I-I didn’t mean it like that”
“Of course I’ll marry you” you whispered and grabbed his hand to keep walking.
Yoongi: You and Yoongi were playing with Holly whilst the rest of the boys went out to eat. You were playing tug of war with her as Yoongi admired you from his seat on the couch.
“I’ve decided that when we get married, I only want small dogs so our children won’t be in fear” he laughed to himself.
You stopped tugging at the rope and stared at him, only blinking twice. He looked up at you, questioning why you were looking at him
“What did I say?”
“You’re already planning our wedding?”
His eyes went wide, Did he really just say his thoughts out loud?
“N-No Well I was…Just saying”
Hoseok: “You know Jagiya when we get married, we’re gonna have a big wedding” this would come out of his mouth once a week. It would be so neutral to him because he believed that you really were the one.
Jimin: You were getting ice cream with him at a convenience store on a hot summers day, you didn’t know if he meant it or if it was due to dehydration.
“Lets have an ice cream cake on our wedding day” His eyes went wide as you two both walked out of the store.
“Deal” he smiled at your answer and kissed your forehead.
“Jimin its too hot”
Taehyung: You were at your friends talking and gossiping, having a good time. You opened snapchat to see a video from Yoongi. Curiously opening the snap you find the camera pointed at Taehyung who looked half asleep.
“Tae, what did you just say?” You heard Yoongi laugh while the other boys laughed as well.
“I said I’ll beat your ass” Tae mumbled causing you to laugh.
“No the other thing, about a wedding” your heart stopped at the mention of a wedding.
“I said I wanna get married at sunset” he mumbled again.
“Why?” you heard Jungkook laugh, asking him.
“Because Y/n looks really good in that light”
Lets just say a couple hours later he was more then embarrassed but he kept denying the fact that he actually said that.
“I did not say that!”
Jungkook: This boy would reveal his secret wedding planning to you when he was black out drunk when you two decided it was a brilliant idea for you to go to a club.
“Y/n, hear me out. Listen, I want these drinks at our wedding”
The next morning you remembered perfectly but he didn’t.
“Y/n stop talking about drinks” you were teasing him about how much he drank the previous night.

A/N: guys i did it. first ever fic. i don’t know if y’all will hate it or love it, but it was so much fun to write. ALSO THERES AN IN THE HEIGHTS REFERENCE.
You didn’t need love.
You were an independent person who didn’t need to feel satisfied by having someone love you.
You were strong, independent, and brave.
That’s what you told yourself everyday when you looked in the mirror.
Truth be told, you lied to yourself everyday. Everybody needed somebody, but you just weren’t used to that. With your mom out of the picture, and your dad always gone for work, you had convinced yourself that love was for the weak.
You just never realised how emotionally weak you actually were.
Anon request: could you please write a dean x reader fic where they end up locked in a confined space together that starts as annoyance but leads to more? and they’ve been hunting together a while but always had an antagonistic/teasing relationship to cover up that they have feelings for each other

Harry and Y/N are enemies in the business world but the perfect partners under the sheets.
In the ideal scheme of things, Y/N shouldn’t have had anything to do with Harry Styles in the first place. Not in any way at all. People like her simply don’t have anything to do with people like him. That’s how things are and how they’re supposed to be, which was why no one who’s ever been an advocate of that implicit social norm would be able to comprehend how it hadn’t been possible for her to shift her sliding gaze from the bodily pull of his charm the moment they’d met in the dim light of a crowded art gallery that had suddenly felt empty and silent, as if the world had shrunk down to just the two of them, the surface under their feet heaving with the sharp metallic sound of attraction, nearly tossing them into the air. Their vastly different spheres of existence had rolled towards each other and somehow it had all made sense.
And now that he was gone without a single trace of him ever being in her life, all she could do was plough through the universe for every possible reason why it wasn’t her fault that she couldn’t stop feeling like there was a missing piece in her puzzle. She hadn’t asked for it. She hadn’t asked for him to barge into her, sweep her off her feet and push her towards a precipice with his delicate but deadly touch. It was fucking unfair that she had to feel that way over someone who was never an option.
