Gabriel’s “I don’t give a shit” attitude when it comes to rules and red-tape is probably exactly what made him the perfect person to lead the Strike Team. He was willing to do the shit that needed to get done, even if it meant pissing off entire countries, because he knew that’s what it took to make a change. And it worked. He and his team stopped the Omnic Crisis.
But it’s also probably what prevented him from becoming Strike Commander of Overwatch. The UN were happy to use Gabriel’s skills to end the Crisis, but beyond that, they needed someone they could control, someone they could trust to do as they were told, and Gabriel wasn’t that person. They chose Jack instead - he was charismatic, he was young, and most importantly, he was good at following orders.
What if by the time the Uprising took place, he was starting to realise it, and starting to try and break out of that role? And the UN, scared of losing control of such a powerful organisation, decided to blow it sky-high instead and pin the blame on Reyes, and the story about their fighting was just a cover-up?
you: this isn’t what the comics were like!! they were wholesome and not gritty!!! the cw is ruining archie comics!!!!!!!!
me, an intellectual: archie comics has never has a fuckign continuity that made any cohesive sense whatsoever. there was an ongoing strip where jughead was a founding member of the “time police”. another where they were all caveman. jughead narrates a strip called “the flashlight zone” which is a parody of the twilight zone. veronica once hit her head on a plane and thought she was a character from a western novel for several weeks. they’ve all been superheroes at one point or another. the punisher has appeared. in archie vs predator they all got murdered. jughead and sabrina have started a zombie apocalypse. dilton has cloned himself on multiple occasions. the entirety of archie’s weird mysteries was weird as fuck. chill. calm down
Decided to give you guys a peek at the first part of the lyric comic (without lyrics cuz still wanna keep it a secret). The first half is giving me a hard time to decide what scenes to put down so it, I guess, flows naturally but I think I might have an idea. This is a big project and I’m hoping to have it done sometime in the Summer.
⭐️SHOUTOUT TO ANOTHER (FANTASTIC) UNDERTALE COMIC!⭐️
I’m not exactly big on AUs, but I am absolutely in LOVE with the Caretaker of the Ruins comic over on the @caretaker-au blog. The Ruins scene was giving me some war flashbacks to the scenes I’ve been working with but seriously guys this comic is good. There are times when I wish I was innovative enough to go out and create a comic that’s not literally just the game but in comic form but alas… I’m a bit of a stickler to original things. Plus I’m having fun with the graphic novel, and I’m enjoying working with the canon content of the game. But still.
Anyways, I sketched this after finishing the comic up to the latest page (which I believe came out today… I’ll be updating the same day! Haha!). I don’t think Chara wants to be the ghostly weirdo that’s gonna inhabit the graphic novel’s second installment anymore.
To the creators of the Caretaker of the Ruins comic! Wonderful work, you two! It’s VERY well done and I look forward to future updates.✨ ~“George”
So it was Sans all along! I was genuinely surprised so many people were thinking it was actually Chara. That was kinda awesome :D
Also I love love LOVE drawing Flowey’s faces now
I tried really hard to finish the entire update to post all at once but I’m super tired and it was half done and I wanted you guys to have more of the comic sooner because you’ve all been waiting so patiently :) I’ll finish the second half over the weekend and post it as soon as it’s done!
