How Choices Changed My Life.

This is for @hollyashton and @texanhusker for ChoicesCreates #23! I love how far the prompts went! I’m so happy and proud for how it have become. And somehow, this is more than confession than prompts, so yes.

I still remember that Pixelberry made two games another than Choices, like High School Story and Hollywood U. Both games was fun, yes, as Pixelberry was making a good job making those characters and story on both games, until Choices came in.

I still remember when the game first came out on 17 August (or something like that, please correct me!) and I try to play it, since it was different games like Hollywood U and High School Story. I see all three books, The Freshman, Most Wanted and The Crown and The Flame. Since I don’t know what to read on the three books, I choose to read Most Wanted.

I admit, the story was good and somehow I like the characters, like Sam, Dave, Mirasol, Nikhill, Reza, etc. Along with The Freshman and The Crown and The Flame. I was in love with the story and the characters. Mostly Kaitlyn, Kenna and Val. I love those girls. (And also Becca.)

Then, I was so inspire to make fanart on it. I remember when I make fanart of Kaitlyn from The Freshman, and everyone liked it! I was so happy! Yet, the Choice fandom is not big enough until now. Which is the good thing, which this game need more love. Look how big and talented this fandom is now!

And it cure my depression and save me for hurting myself too. I mean, due from the stress and self doubt, I got depression for what happened last years. Losing some friends,  getting bullied, abusive things, this game save me again from depression AND also abandoning issues. Just like High School Story and Hollywood U. They save me once again. Yet, I hope that some friends that I losing last years, I hope I can be your friend again and hoping you the best. If you see this, of course.

And talking about friends, I do make some new friends there. Like @molliartsie @kittenmusicals @peepeetah @lanapowellblog @shazrystyles @hollyashton @jakesmckenzies @jebsplayshss @turtle-brownie …. They’re the nicest person that I meet before. I know we never talked or reply, but hey, I hoping that I keep track on you and rooting on you guys! I love you guys! Even I consider all of you as my friends and mutual to all for you from this fandom. I love you all!

Choices also making me to make fanart, even though it don’t have enough reblogs and I was a small blog, at least I having fun with it somehow. Practice is important! Drawing my rare ships, favorite character on Choices that made me happy is enough. Yet, there is so many talented people on this fandom! So, that’s enough and I was proud of you guys! Yet, I found so many fanart of this games and books, so thank you again! Yet, I was making fanfic about my favorite book on school that I can’t focus… Wow, Choices really change my life.

Looking back to my past, I was so upset and really hating myself. Now that Choices is there, I become more confident and met new friend on this fandom. Like wow. I was really shy on both HSS and HWU last years than now.

Thus, I don’t know how to end my confession, but, I would like to say thank you Pixelberry and Choices to change my life once again. And to the fandom, thank you for being supportive to each other. That’s what I wish for. Smaller blog or bigger blog or not, you guys on this fandom together and enjoy the game together. Even if there’s some drama, but we unite back, as we will. Again, thank you so much for this. To Pixelberry, to everyone, to this fandom.

Thank you.

can we please stop making the only LGBT+ narrative we see “i always knew?”

like, i didn’t always know i liked girls too. i wasn’t having crushes on them or kissing them on the playground when i was five years old like you see on tv or read in books. i didn’t know for sure that i’m bi until literally this year (i’m 17 as of writing this). a former friend of mine is a trans girl. she didn’t always know. she didn’t realize she was trans until she was nearly eighteen years old. some people don’t realize it until they’re twenty, or forty, or sixty.

some people do always know. good for them! but can we please please please make it known that you don’t have to have always known for your identity to be valid? it makes it so difficult for people who are figuring themselves out later in life, because it feeds into this idea of “why didn’t i know it before? is this even real? if i haven’t known i’ve felt this way all along, how do i know i feel it now?” and that’s only making worse what’s already such a difficult time in life

give me eighty year old women who are just figuring out they’re lesbians. give me middle aged accountants who realize they’re actually trans. give me a guy who doesn’t know until he’s twenty-eight that he’s actually into dudes. god just please give us some other narrative, so we can be reassured that even if it took us a while to get there, our identity is no less valid than that of a person who’s known they’re LGBT+ since elementary school. stop telling LGBT+ people that that’s the only way they’re really LGBT+

You acted like the bad guy in front of her, but I know you’re hurt inside. I was aiming for that.

We Need To Talk About Ramona Blue:

TO EVERYONE WHO GAVE THIS BOOK ONE STAR WITHOUT READING IT:

First off, know that I am not going away. I am going to stand here and scream this from the rooftops as many times as I have to. Because I am tired of my voice and my story being drowned out. This book tells my story. If I get even one person to at least consider they might be wrong, if even one person buys this book because of me, then I’ve made a difference.

I respect your opinion and based off of the original synopsis I completely understand why you felt that way - indeed I agree with you. I understand why the initial synopsis made you angry, really I do. The b.s. trope that lesbians (or any LGBT+ girl) can be ‘cured’ by finding the right boy is not just offensive and incorrect, but incredibly, incredibly harmful. And when it’s used as much as it is, it leads to people in the real world justifying their homophobic thoughts with - “I can f**k that girl, she’s secretly straight anyway. I can make her change her mind. She just needs the right guy.” Corrective rape is a very real danger and one that is directly impacted by words like those in that synopsis.

But this isn’t what the book is about. When the author, Julie Murphy @andimjulie, was informed of how offensive and harmful the synopsis/blurb was she started arranging to have it changed. Because here’s the thing: authors don’t get to write those. Some random person at the publishing house does. It’s that random person that made the harmful words and who misunderstood the book.

The new synopsis is up on this goodreads page now  . Please read it and maybe consider changing or removing your rating?

Because this book isn’t about 'lesbians can be cured.’ This book is about bisexual girls, girls just like me, who grow up not knowing that they are bi. Believing that because they like girls they must therefore be lesbians or because they like boys they must therefore be straight. I’m the latter; in this heteronormative world I spent years believing I was straight before I realised.

This book is for all the girls like me who think they fit into one box because they like someone and then one day, realise they have feelings for a different gender. It is about how confusing and scary and downright terrifying that is. It is about lying awake all night thinking “but does liking this boy mean i was straight all along?” “do i actually like him or is it because i’m supposed to?” it’s about worrying that you can’t change your identity because people already know you as a 'lesbian.’ Worrying that you’re just attention seeking or greedy or unable to make up your mind, that you’re on the fence and you need to choose.

This book is about the moment of relief when you finally find the name that suits you - bisexual. Or, perhaps when you decide that it’s okay to not know for sure right now. And how much weight is taken off you once you know who you are, and you have an identity.

I haven’t read the book yet but the new revised synopsis reflects that the book will actually be about those topics. You’re punishing the author for what someone else misunderstood and wrote as a harmful piece of promotion. Notice how different (and not harmful) the synopsis is now that it’s been written with the author’s suggestions instead of just by some dude? That to me suggests that the book itself, written entirely by her, will be much more like the new synopsis than the old one.

Oh, and you will also notice that I mentioned I haven’t read the book yet. So how then, you wonder, am I able to sit here and say that the book will be about all of the things above?

Because I am that girl. I went through all of those things. Mine was vice versa to Ramona - I believed that I had to be straight because I liked boys and if you like boys that’s all you can be right? Wrong. It was so, so hard for me to figure out who I am, where my place in this world is. It took me four years to get where I am (I’m 18 now). And I still haven’t finished this journey - my parents don’t know. I know, from reading this new synopsis, that that is what this book is about because I have lived it. I know because the author is bisexual, married to a man - she has lived it too.

Tumblr I just don’t get it. We cry and cry for more representation but when you have it you destroy it’s chances with negative reviews before it’s even begun. All because it’s the “wrong sort” of representation. You don’t want this bi girls story, my true story, because it shows that sometimes girls who like girls also like boys. Not always but sometimes. And sometimes we end up with those boys.

Please, buy this book. Promote this book, please at least undo this low rating until you have read it. This book could have saved me so much heartache when I was fourteen. It could have let me know that I was not alone. It could have saved me six months of self-harm, an emotionally abusive relationship, bullying for being 'frigid.’

I didn’t have this book when I was facing all those things. But the next bi or pan girl could. We could save them.

Representation is important. Lesbian representation and positive, good representation at that, is important. But so is bi girl representation. And this book just happens to be one for the bi girls. This doesn’t have to be either or, bi girls existing doesn’t mean that lesbians do not. Please, let’s not harm each other’s chance at representation. Let’s support each other.

Please, at least let’s read this book before we give it a rating. Please help the next girl like me before she is hurt.

Distraction*

Summary: Reader is bored and wants to cure it by distracting her boyfriend.

Stepping inside the shared living room of the building, determined to cure your boredom, you spotted your boyfriend sitting on a couch and reading some reports of the last assignment.

Glenn Miller’s soft music - Steve’s favorite - filled the room and relaxed the ambient air while the rest of the Avengers was minding their own business outside the facility and- therefore had left you both. All alone with Steve Rogers.

Walking over the super soldier, you sneaked behind the couch, landing your hands on his shoulders and you massaged the tightness of his muscles, earning some satisfying groans.

I remember reading 13 Reasons Why when I was in 6th grade which is about 11 years ago now so seeing it come to life after all these years is really cool BUT, i also remember trying to kill myself after reading the book when i was literally just a child so I’m really worried about how the younger generation will take this story. I think the show does a pretty good job of showing the true horrific nature of Suicide, the people you leave behind, the bullying, but when it comes down to it the source material really did romanticize suicide by making it into this grand gesture of sadness and i don’t know man. So to all you kids out there, please remember that suicide is not pretty or romantic.

If you are having a very difficult time overcoming sins (whatever it maybe), no matter how much you tried to refrain from it and you gave in each time despite trying your hardest to leave it for Allah but you failed every time. I will advise you with two things & you will find the most strongest and closest connection with Allah.

Firstly, when you commit the sin, seek Allah’s forgiveness as soon as possible. As soon as you realise you have sinned, seek His forgiveness there and then. Don’t give second thoughts about your intentions (stop thinking you will fall into it again) or doubt Allah’s mercy towards you. Just block out everything, breathe in and out until you are relaxed and spend 5 minutes speaking to Allah. Acknowledge your mistake, promise not to do it again, avoid that which brings you to the sin and ask for forgiveness.

After you have done this, don’t think about whether Allah has forgiven you or not. Allah wants to forgive you that’s why He guided you to seek His forgiveness in the first place.

Secondly & this point is very important if you cannot let go of the sin. If you keep falling into this sin, INCREASE YOUR GOOD DEEDS. You done one sin? Do 3 good deeds. You done it again? Increase another 3 good deeds. Don’t focus on the sin here, focus on doing good deeds, why? Because good deeds please Allah, it will bring you closer to Him & they erase bad deeds.

You feel low and filthy because you sinned? Increase your good deeds, let that guilt motivate you to rush you to good so Allah’s mercy and forgiveness reaches you. Allah’s forgiveness is far greater than your sins so let your book of good deeds be greater than your sins too.

Open the Quran & read, cook for your siblings, give them water. Smile at your parents, spend time with them. Help your friend with something, teach someone a Hadith. Give Salam to a stranger. Give charity to the needy.

So if you keep falling in sins, forget the sin. Focus on your good deeds. Sometimes it is in the depths of our sins we find Allah and know Him more than ever.

Shaytaan will do his best to stop you from doing good but do not listen to him, he’s your enemy. He does not want you to have hope in Allah. When you find him whispering to you, remind yourself that perhaps through my sins Allah will bring me close to Him. Perhaps because of my sins, I’m increasing on good deeds which I couldn’t have done otherwise.

Perhaps the effort of striving to please Allah, seek His forgiveness and increase in good deeds will make you a beloved friend of Allah. You are better than your sins, don’t you ever let them get you down. Your Lord is Forgiving, The Most Forgiving, The Pardoner, The Acceptor of repentance, The One who conceals faults. Our Lord is amazing, He loves you so much so love Him back. That’s His right over you, He never gives up on you so please never ever give up on Allah & His mercy.

Writing ‘Shippable’ Romances

Anonymous asked: “How do I make a pair ‘shippable’? Like, how do I make their relationship into one that readers will support, and not just wrinkle their nose at?”

Writers and “shipping” don’t always seem to go together. As readers, we can feel free to cheer on any relationship in series or book we read, but from the writer’s vantage point, there really aren’t usually as many options. It’s kind of hard to explain, but if you, as the writer, can see two characters getting together, you might not even be able to imagine other possible relationships.
