think about the times

  • what she says: i'm fine
  • what she means: during 'man up' from the book of mormon 2011, elder price sings "heavenly father why do you let bad things happen, more to the point, why do you let bad things happen to me? i'm sure you don't think i'm a flake because you clearly made a mistake!" and immediately the elders pop up singing 'turn it off', a song about bottling up the feelings that were not okay for a mormon to feel, a song starred by elder mckinley, a man that confesses to have 'gay thoughts' since he was in fifth grade but claims they have passed now, at the end of the musical, mckinley decides to finally 'turn his feelings on' and beat his internalised homophobia after a new vision of religion, but most importantly, why did they choose to reference 'turn it off' when kevin price is convinced god made a mistake with him? is he suggesting there are something Wrong with him apart from leaving his companion alone? maybe not, but then why elder mckinley has a place in price's 'spooky mormon hell dream', a scene that represents all the sins price has committed through the years? does thi-

i have ace discourse questions ace discoursers help me understand:

the ace community believes that ppl who feel sexual attraction oppress those who don’t and i think about this all the time like does that mean that grey ace and demisexual people who do feel sexual attraction just Only Sometimes do they have privilege over 100% ace people who do not? bc they do feel sexual attraction? do they oppress ace people but only sometimes (when they feel sexual attraction)? are they half ace and half allo?

i have so many questions actually like ace identities go from no attraction to feeling attraction only sometimes, is there a label for feeling attraction half the time and then not the other half (alloace?) does that mean there is also the potential an ‘allo’ identy where you feel sexual attraction often but not always (the opposite of grey ace? grey allo)? would grey allos be oppressed by Full Allos because they don’t feel sexual attraction all the time? i’ve thought about this a lot as you can tell. pls respond

pens fans keep telling preds fans to take the L and move on but i’d like to see pens fans gracefully take the W and stop being jerks & unnecessarily rude to preds fans when they point out unfair treatment in the league as well as stop bringing up stupid invalid excuses and reasons in defense of their team when someone as much as mentions the word bias

im thinking soon i might start charging for readings, each yes/no pendulum question being only .50 cents?

tbt when rataelin stans blamed a lot of the ship wars on Chaola//ena shippers when in actuality a lot of us were dora//elin stans that couldn’t let go

I found a digital drawing I did exactly a year ago, back when I didn’t have a graphic tablet and drew on my iPad mini, and I feel simultaneously flabbergasted by how BAD it is and kinda proud of how far I’ve come…

anonymous asked:

Didn't Paul also think the second coming was happening in his life time? Which was a part of the reason he taught celibacy?

I don’t see why the timing of the eschaton would matter. Saint Paul taught nothing decisive on that subject. He did however, rightly teach that

The unmarried man is anxious about the affairs of the Lord, how to please the Lord; but the married man is anxious about worldly affairs, how to please his wife, and his interests are divided. And the unmarried woman or girl is anxious about the affairs of the Lord, how to be holy in body and spirit; but the married woman is anxious about worldly affairs, how to please her husband. I say this for your own benefit, not to lay any restraint upon you, but to promote good order and to secure your undivided devotion to the Lord. (1 Cor 7)

Celibacy - virginity - is a form of spiritual poverty. The poor in spirit are blessed because their poverty makes more room for God in their lives. Likewise, material poverty is better than material wealth. The rich man can love God with an undivided heart, and the poor man can despise God and seek only to do his self will. But it is harder to love God when one is rich, and easier when one is poor.

God bless you.

When my sisters were in air cadets, one of them asked me to buy a ticket and come to this cadet fundraising dance.  It was in the middle of nowhere and I was working the night shift at the time but I bought one and said I would come even though it was really inconvenient for me.  I asked her not to ditch me when I got there because I didn’t know anyone there.

Both my sisters ignored me the entire night.

I invited my other sister to the staff Christmas party at work a couple times before I knew quite when it was and she said yes both times.  When I was able to give her the date I asked again if she was coming and she ignored all my texts.

Sometimes your family will ask you to do something for you, and you’ll do it, but when you ask them for something all you’ll get is nothing.  Don’t feel obligated to keep giving to them because they are never going to give back.  They are just going to keep asking and they are going to conveniently forget all the times you did as they asked while they ignored you.

After playing the Val/Kenna scene in the last chapter and seeing the Dom/Kenna and Diavolos/Kenna scenes, I feel like the Val/Kenna one was WAY less detailed??

what made diana’s flashbacks concerning steve so powerful is the fact that her love for him is all encompassing – it’s romantic plus platonic, it’s loving this person as well as his values, his good heart, his humility, his mission and his sacrifice.

when diana said she believed in love, it wasn’t just romantic love. it was love for everything good in humanity, it was love for the world and every living being, it was love for peace and happiness despite the ugliness and cruelty and war and death.

and that’s why wonder woman was moving and its message unprecedented in any other superhero movie.

What a great episode I watched it nearly nine hours ago and I’m still yelling g o o d
