Oh, man no, you almost made me cry. I thought there would be a 2nd part. You said you don't know how to continue, I thought about something deep. Like Lance saying all the shit he thinks about himself and Keith is just there being bad with words and having no idea of what he should tell Lance. Keith doesn't know him too well because they're always fighting and now he realizes Lance actually thinks about other things besides flirting and being a pain in the ass for Keith. Idk, just tying to help.
man, you guys really like klangst/langst a lot even tho it makes you cry
it seems like a good idea tho. i’ll think about it.
i really meant for the comic to be open ended and for it to end it there, but if people really want a second part, i’ll do my best to think of something worth reading :^)
ESFP: Look, I get it, you leave people in the dust because you know how crazy and all over the place your life can be and you’re also crazy scared to let somebody in just to have it end up with you accidentally leaving them and both of you getting hurt, but emotional intimacy and real depth in friendships are 100% worth it in the end and it’s the struggle and fight of a lifetime to keep them in your life, but it’s also the greatest gift and you can’t keep denying yourself that intimacy and friendship.
ISFP: I know you have a lot of great desires and wonderful dreams and they might seem too far off and too crazy and too beautiful to come true, but you have them for a reason, and you gotta stop paralyzing yourself with fear and take that first step and throw yourself into the unknown, and that’s the scariest part, I know, but we both know you’re braver than you look, and that your passion can make it happen.
ENFP: I know that the moment you hit an obstacle or two when you first start working towards that far off dream, it’s scary and it makes you want to crumble and run away to a new thing like you think you always do, but don’t! You’re miles more tenacious and capable than you give yourself credit for and you’ve got to discipline yourself and trust that your talents and optimism can and will propel you through whatever is keeping you from your goals.
INFP: I know it’s hard to feel understood and it’s easy to let yourself become bitter by the ways of the world or whatever’s happening, but closing yourself off to others isn’t going to save you the pain. You have a natural capacity to understand others that’s hard for the other types to grasp and when you stop yourself from using that talent, or use it for selfish reasons, you’re doing yourself a massive injustice.
ESTP: Listen, I totally get that the world is full of fun and interesting things and you want to experience them all, but you’ve got to remember that for a lot of the people that come along with you, they’re there to experience YOU as much as they’re there for the thing itself. Don’t let yourself forget that half the fun of anything is who you’re doing it with.
ISTP: I know you generally don’t mean to yell or be rude when your irritated and that it’s really just a passing thing and you don’t generally care all that much, but just apologize to people after you’ve calmed down! Explain it to them and that you don’t mean it! Admit to yourself that you care enough about them to try to make amends, even when you’re just being a little crotchety; it means a lot to the feelers lol.
ENTP: You’re a genuinely fun person to be around and you usually rack up a reputation for that, but just because you’re funny and witty and damn smart doesn’t mean you don’t have feelings and problems that need to be externalized, and trust me, the right people will be more than willing to talk about what’s really happening in your life one minute and go back to elaborate jokes the next without a problem. Don’t stunt your emotional growth for the sake of brevity.
INTP: It’s okay to not know what to do in an emotional situation. Like, it’s genuinely okay. If somebody’s opening up to you, half the time your presence and you listening is 95% of what they need in that moment. Don’t avoid the situations just because it causes writer’s block emotionally. Emotional availability comes with experience. You’ll learn. Just, be your goofy self and the rest will come with time.
ENFJ: You’ve got to realize that although holding yourself to such a high standard is noble and praiseworthy, that it sometimes eclipses your ability to be a good friend when that was the goal in the first place. You’re human and can’t do everything for your friends that you’d want to be able to do when they need help, and profusely apologizing and beating yourself up for it just shifts the focus off of helping your friend and turns it to you. Accept your humanity, and just do what you can. They appreciate the help, I promise.
INFJ: I know you have a tendency to feel misunderstood and want people to show you that they love you and care about you, but you don’t get to say you’re fine AND disappear on people. Either say you’re not okay and pull back, or say you’re okay and stick around long enough for somebody to see through the BS. In my experience, y'all have a habit of making things a self-fulfilling prophecy, and that doesn’t do you any good! Be forward, be honest, and just be vulnerable; they care more than you convince yourself they do.
ESFJ: I need to be straight with y'all. Learn how to talk about something other than your 4-5 current fixations. In my experience, N’s have a crazy hard time being close with you because you keep bringing the topic back to one of your current Favorite Things™, whether it be the semester abroad you just got back from or the first date that’s scheduled for two weeks from now. Expand your area of interest and you’ll find people will be much more authentic with you.
ISFJ: You have this really amazing ability to notice the small things about people and that helps you show them you care about them in these really great and meaningful ways, but you can’t let yourself overthink the small things you notice about people. One of my good ISFJ friends started poking around trying to see if alcoholism ran in my family after noticing I’d been drinking wine a lot recently. You might have an intention to help, but overthinking/overanalyzing like that and trying to involve yourself in helping can hurt your friendships.
ESTJ: Your presence is powerful and intense and that’s great at times, but you’ve got to let out your goofy fun side more, and hoe we’ve all seen it before, you’re a damn riot after a beer or two. People, in general, care more about fun than having every plan go right during the night/event. Be willing to be fun more, you’re so good at it.
ISTJ: I know you get frustrated with yourself because you want to do new things and get out there and be a fun person, but the thing is, you’re so much better at being a responsible, caring person. Befriend the chaotic, crazy, lovable rascals and let them bring the fun to you (or more often than not, drag you kicking and screaming to where the fun is).
ENTJ: Look, I’m an INTJ, so I know how hard this is to swallow, but showing you care about a person sometimes isn’t so much giving them solutions to their problems or trying to correct an issue; a lot of the other types literally just want you to listen and hear them out. And you gotta do that sometimes, babe. And shut your damn mouth while they’re telling you everything, okay? Just. Let them finish.
INTJ: For the love of all that is holy, just cry already. Cry alone if you have to, or better yet, just go to the person you’d literally murder a thousand people for and freakin’ cry about all the crap you’ve been bottling up for the past two months and accept that you can have razor-sharp rationale and be a damn human at the same time. And just admit that you’re insecure about your relationship with that person because you care about them so much and you’re not the best at trusting people.
- Zach: “Rebecca, what can you tell us about what’s to come next on Steven Universe?” Rebecca: “I’m really excited, well … We’ve had these incredibly huge events lately, and we’re just gonna see the fallout, this bomb, there will be HUGE consequences to everything that’s happened, and the rollercoaster has sort of rocketed forward from here on out, so these next episodes were really exciting to make.”
- A VERY intense trailer was shown of what’s to come next. I couldn’t see it, I could only hear it. The audio I transcribed below: Pearl: “I thought you’d see it someday, but … I thought I’d be there with you.” Steven: “You’re safe! You’re here! I’m here! We’re safe, everything’s fine.” Connie: “But it’s not, though.” Steven: “I just wanted to save everyone, but I couldn’t even do that. I don’t know how I’m gonna get you out of this. Are you doing okay?” Sadie: “Well, I’m worried about Lars being in space, and I hope he’s safe and all.” Blue or Yellow Zircon: “You RAN?! From Blue and Yellow Diamond?!!” Greg: “I don’t know anything about Homeworld, I don’t know anything about your (intangible), you guys have to put it in the contest!” Pearl: “There are things on Earth that are impossible for me to explain. But I want to.” Lapis: “They’re gonna take her anger out on this planet, just like they did before. I WON’T let myself get caught up in another war.” Peridot: “Earth is our home now! Isn’t it worth fighting for … ?”
- A new Save The Light trailer was shown, and a new Peridot was revealed in the game! Her name is ‘Squaridot’, she has square hair, limb enhancers, and a left eye gem.
- Q: “Would Rainbow Quartz be the same or different with Steven?” Rebecca: "Rainbow Quartz 2.0 would variably be different …….. it …….. Forget I said that. That’s a very good question thank you.”
- Q: “Have we seen the full extent of Lion’s powers?” Rebecca: “I don’t think we’ve seen the full extent of Lion’s abilities yet”, etc.
- Q: “Which Off Color do you relate the most to and why?” Rebecca: “Rhodonite. The neurotic one.” Zach: “Padparadscha.” Deedee: “Padparadscha.”
- Q: “I was wondering if there was any challenges making the music for the show?” Rebecca: “Oh of course, we don’t get any extra time to do episodes with songs in them than episodes without songs in them. I think the most challenging one was Mr. Greg.”
- Q: “While making the show (cont.), I’ve been a creator for a long time, and I just had to ask: Do you gauge if something’s gonna be really popular? Like Padparadscha immediately became an enormous meme.” Rebecca: “I think we focus on loving what we’re making. We all love Padaparadscha, so … I suppose it wasn’t a surprise to see people loved her too. I think some of the stuff that catches on is the fun ideas we have, and that was one of those where someone at a big writer’s meeting pitched that concept of a Sapphire that sees the past and we all just loved it instantly (cont.) … and thought how sweet that would be. And I always thought of Sapphires being Zelda-esque, so I really wanted a sort of Peach to contrast her Zelda.”
- Q: “Was Lars becoming pivotal something you planned from the beginning?” Rebecca: “I think it happened naturally, because Lars was one of the oldest characters in the show. I was drawing Lars and Sadie back in college. They’re older than Steven Universe. I think they were always gonna be very very important.”
Myers Briggs Types by Whether You Should Fight Them
ENFJ: Fight them, when the occasion calls for it. You will win, but only if you keep your emotions out of it. Where there are emotions, they have the power.
ENFP: FOR THE LOVE OF EVERYTHING WHY WOULD YOU FIGHT THEM??? Honestly their INT-x friends will kill you anyway, so back off.
INFJ: They are so pure, sometimes you will want to fight them, just to shake things up. But they are frustratingly dense in their goodness and won’t realize what you’re doing. They will probably try to comfort you as though you are the one who was fought.
INFP: Don’t. They’re soft and smol and you will feel bad about it afterwards.
ESFJ: Don’t even–just leave them. Leave them to themselves, and the worlds they have chosen to aggressively care for.
ESFP: You will die, but it will be worth it. Someone has to fight them. Someone has to stop them. But it’s like fighting the sun, so you will definitely die.
ISFP: Why would you fight them? Like the INFJ, they will not know what you are doing. They will laugh and send you memes instead, but kindly.
ISFJ: Sometimes you will want to, but you should not. They just want to garden in one way or another, so just hand them a rake and go find yourself an ESTP.
ESTJ: Fight them. Dear God, fight them. They are combative but unimaginative, and must be crushed.
ESTP: Trust me, you’ve already fought one.
ISTP: Ehh, don’t bother. They are unreadable and elusive. They are probably causing others to lowkey suffer, but it’s just not worth your time.
ISTJ: No. Do not fight them. You will lose. They are organized, efficient, and tireless. Fighting them will end in death by a thousand precise cuts.
ENTJ: You will want to fight them, and you should. But approach with care. They are the generals of society and will destroy you and your whole family if given an opportunity. Consult an INTJ.
ENTP: They can and must be fought. Prepare yourself; they are wily and full of memes, and they play dirty. Wait for them to prematurely triumph and go in for the kill-stroke.
INTP: You will want to fight them, but you will not know how.
LET HUFFLEPUFFS HAVE A RESTING BITCH FACE. LET HUFFLEPUFFS BE FIREY AND PASSIONATE. LET HUFFLEPUFFS BE INCREDIBLY WITTY AND STUDIOUS. LET HUFFLEPUFFS GET INTO FIST FIGHTS.
LET HUFFLEPUFFS BE MORE THAN FICKLE, POLITE, PACIFIST, HAPPY-GO-LUCKY, BLITHE, AND APPROACHABLE. BEING A HUFFLEPUFF IS MORE THAN LOOKING INNOCENT AND SWEET.
I am a Hufflepuff with a horrible resting bitch face. I am a Hufflepuff who people see as unapproachable. I am a Hufflepuff with strong beliefs and passion.
The traits found in Hufflepuff are listed below:
Unafraid of toil
Hufflepuffs are dedicated. They are dedicated to their studies, their friends, their families, their hobbies- Hufflepuffs show dedication to the things they love. They don’t dedicate themselves to be praised. it is a self sacrificing quality, much like the rest of the Hufflepuff House traits. Dedication goes hand-in-hand with hard work. It’s enduring when shit hits the fan, it’s getting out of bed when all you want to do is sleep, it’s not accepting handouts, it’s becoming successful through honest work. Hufflepuffs get the most out of working hard, not smart. This isn’t because they aren’t smart, it’s because they believe it benefits them more. Hardwork brings knowledge. They learn how to fight with integrity to get what they want. They most definitely aren’t ones to cheat. Given the choice between cheating and failure, they would choose failure.
Patience is a virtue. I don’t take this to mean that Hufflepuffs don’t mind waiting around if a friend is running late, it means that Hufflepuffs are more willing than most to put a cap on their temperament. Hufflepuffs don’t get bothered easy. Whether it’s from natural ability or a constantly running internal monologue keeping them from blowing a fuse, they manage to handle adversity with as much dignity and grace as they can muster. I think it’s hard to tell what a Hufflepuff is thinking because they keep their opinions to themselves unless asked to express it. Patience has nothing to do with passion. A Hufflepuff is a master at picking their battles. They know what’s worth losing their temper over.
Kindness: benevolent, intended for benefits rather than profit, loving, expressing goodwill. Who the fuck wants to be mean and rude all the time to everyone? Being kind does not mean being pushover. When did it become taboo to be kind? Why is being edgy all the sudden associated with being rude, pretentious, mean and cynical? Being kind is sincerely asking someone “how are you?” and being unafraid to receive an honest and drawn out response. Being kind is being a good listener, helping people for their benefit and not your own, it’s picking up trash in the movie theater so that the staff has less to clean. Being kind is leaving sweet, anonymous notes for people just to make their day a little bit better. Being kind is reveling in making someone smile or laugh. Being kind is smiling back when someone smiles at you. To be benevolent, to be nice, to be kind pushes away all self interest. It’s a selfless trait.
Tolerance is just nodding along with some gun slinging, homophobic, misogynistic jerk rambling about how Donald Trump will make America “great again”, even though you strongly disagree. Hufflepuffs, if you’ll notice, get along with virtually each house. They do not take it upon themselves to judge. Hufflepuffs are masters at accepting things that they cannot change; they cope well with diversity. If someone came up to a Hufflepuff and said that they were a supporter of pure-blood supremacy, the Hufflepuff would nod, say something (passive but sincere) along the lines of “that’s an interesting opinion,” then carry on with their day. Though they may not be at all happy about what was said, they do not take it upon themselves to get everyone to see the way that they see things. You can’t force people to listen. It’s not that Hufflepuffs don’t have opinions, they do, but, as the saying goes, “Opinions are like assholes, everybody has one.” They find that people respect your opinion and ask for it more when you present a judgement free environment for them.
This house is loyal. They’re a tolerant bunch, sure, but they will not tolerate bullies. It’s their sense of fraternity and loyalty that gives Hufflepuff something worth fighting for. It wouldn’t surprise me to see a Hufflepuff seventh year getting into a fist fight with a Ravenclaw seventh year because the Ravenclaw was making snarky remarks about a first year getting sorted into Hufflepuff. Hufflepuffs will argue, punch, kick, pull hair and scream if you somehow hurt someone they hold dear to them. Don’t forget how fucking raw Badgers are. They’re one of the most fearless animals in the animal kingdom. This can maybe be seen as a flaw, however. In Goblet of Fire, the Hufflepuff House got so caught up in the competition between Cedric and Harry, good judgement was blurred by their unwavering loyalty. This brings me to believe that Hufflepuffs, if sufficiently provoked, can attack with the most underhanded and vicious insults ever. I don’t think it would be wise to bring a Hufflepuff to their breaking point in hopes of seeing this animosity. In most circumstances, however, loyalty is a virtue.
I am so sick of the stigma that Hufflepuffs are these soft little balls of dough that are just so lukewarm compared to the other houses. Need I remind y’all that Hufflepuffs fought at the Battle of Hogwarts without hesitation? They rose to the occasion, they weren’t indifferent about the situation at hand at all- they were selfless, they were fearless. They fought because they loved their school, their friends, their teachers, and because it was the right thing to do.
Kindness should not be mistaken for weakness.
Tolerance should not be mistaken for neutrality
Patience should not be mistaken for dispassion
Loyalty gives them reason to fight
Hardwork and dedication make them goal-oriented
Fair play does not mean there is a lack of initiative
A Hufflepuff is not a clone of the Pillsbury Dough Boy. Hufflepuffs can have strong opinions, be passionate, reckless, brave, and enterprising.
Because Helga Hufflepuff didn’t sort her students by a particular aptitude, Hufflepuff should be one of the most diverse houses in Hogwarts. So don’t generalize all Hufflepuffs to fit the “looks like a cinnamon roll and is a cinnamon roll” archetype. Hufflepuffs can be fierce as fuck.
Usually things that are worth fighting for are that way for a reason- they’re worth fighting for. And believe me, there are some fantastic aspects to life, day to day, that you can really get so much out of if you try… Do something that makes you happy every day.
Aries: Learn to let the past go. If you cling to it, it’ll only end up destroying you.
Taurus: the monsters can’t hurt you anymore, there’s nothing left to run from.
Gemini: Come to terms with yourself, as painful as it is. Become at peace with your wars.
Cancer: Pain is temporary, you can’t spend your life trying to avoid and minimize all the risks. You’ll take everything worth living for away.
Leo: Draw your arrow. Stand and fight like the hero you fucking are.
Virgo: You’re a warrior. Even when you feel at your fucking weakest. You are a hero.
Libra: Don’t over think things. Let fate play the hand it will. You’re not god.
Scorpio: Stop turning your hurt into anger it’s only going to kill everyone else.
Sagittarius: Does it still feel like home after all this time? or does the pain out weight the joy?
Capricorn: Destroying yourself because of their mistakes doesn’t make you a good guy or a martyr. Get it together and get help.
Aquarius: Sometimes you outgrow things and need to move on. I’m sorry it hurts.
Pisces: Do you miss all your old friends? we still talk of you fondly.
I know you don’t think so. You see the “real writers”
as the people who have multiple books published, who show up and speak at
conferences, who announce this deal or that one, have reviews in professional
journals, and who get paid actual money for their books. But the distinction
isn’t in the way we put on our pants in the morning. The typing words into the
computer thing is the same for all of us, trust me.
That writer you think is so far beyond you still has
days she’s convinced nothing she’s writing works. That writer who made a big
deal last week is chewing his fingernails off, convinced that this is the last
book he’ll get paid for. The writer you heard speak at that conference last
year is struggling for a new agent and a new contract for a book she got told
wasn’t going to sell. And the writer who landed a new agent at that same
conference is still struggling to make his first sale.
We all stare at the computer screen, not sure if what
we’re doing make sense or is worth our time. We all have days that no words get
written. We all have days where we have to prioritize family even when the
words are streaming out of our minds. We all struggle to believe we’re good
enough, that our ideas matter, that this work is still something worth getting
up for in the mornings.
And we all do the same thing to fight against these
fears. We keep writing.
That’s what makes a “real” writer. Do you write? Are
you working on something? Are you scared of your own audacity in writing? Are
you willing to admit your dreams? Do you keep at it even when it seems useless?
Do you write because you like writing, not because you want to be published? Do
you wish you were writing the way that other people wish they were at the
beach? Do you write novels while you’re doing the dishes? Do you meet people
and want to put them in your own books?
To everyone who asks why there isn’t a straight pride
Pride wasn’t born because of a need for validation or celebration, it was not born for simple reasons. It was not born for the simple idea of being proud, the lgbt+/saga community is not saying ‘straight people cannot be proud of who they are’. No, you should be proud of your sexuality and every other part of who you are. But you should also know that you do not need a parade, because by being straight you automatically get a pass saying ‘congratulations you have always, and remain completely accepted by society regarding your sexuality’. And you get multiple other passes that I won’t go on about now, but all these benefits of being 100% accepted: you have them. Why does this mean you don’t need a straight pride?
Because pride was born of a fight for acceptance and respect, and all the things you have had handed directly to you and take for granted. Pride for the lgbt+/saga community is about being proud of who we are after being continually told we shouldn’t be and that we should hide who we are. Being proud of who we are after everyone told us not to be, our own families, friends, society, even ourselves. It’s about finally winning a battle and saying ‘you know what, I deserve to love myself, I deserve to be proud. Fuck what anyone thinks.’ Pride is about being told you shouldn’t exist or don’t exist and shouting out that you do and you’re proud of that. That you are happy to be completely yourself.
It’s about acknowledging a history of violence and hatred towards people like you, and showing them how far they have gotten the world, how far everyone has come thanks to their fight. Showing that you are still fighting. It’s about a community all bonded by this one thing: a need to be accepted and respected and a need to love- no matter what gender. It’s about a community who all had to learn to love themselves and each other, because they are worth it. And who had to fight for their place in this world.
So, pride isn’t about showing off or saying ‘we are better than you’. It’s about all of this, it’s about, after all we have been through saying ‘I’m proud of who I am and I’m happy to be alive’. And yes of course you can join in on this, of course you can be proud. But do it alongside us, do it with respect towards our past and what we are still fighting for. Be someone who fights with us so one day lgbt+/saga kids won’t even know how it feels for a world to not want them to merely exist. So that all those benefits will be extended to everyone and pride can finally be a ‘we made it’ celebration. So don’t be ignorant and laugh off everything we stand for, don’t diminish all our hard work in one simple sentence. And be glad that you don’t need a straight pride.
Absolutely. Your life has so much value. Please please please take care of yourself. Think things through. Your life is worth living. There are people here that care about you. I care. You can get through this. No matter how hard it may seem right now, trust that it WILL get better. You just have to keep fighting. Please keep fighting. If not for yourself, then fight for me. Fight for others in this community. You can beat this darkness. I believe in you
Summary: Thinking he needs to find a date, Natasha signs Steve up to Tinder. In Queens, Peter Parker does the same to you. It’s a match!
Word Count: 1,723
A/N: This is already planned out and written (in my head). I loved writing this.
Nat raised a brow, a mysterious
curve to her smile. Steve was immediately suspicious. He felt his shoulders
stiffen and his back straighten. He knew he looked like he had a stick up his
ass, but he couldn’t help himself. Not when Natasha looked like the cat that
had eaten the canary, and wanted to
“You left your phone on the coffee
table,” she said. Her tone was relaxed, which made Steve more nervous.
His eyes narrowed. “What did you
do, Romanoff?” he questioned, broad arms crossing over an equally-broad chest.
She merely shrugged before she
turned her right-hand palm-up and relaxing it. Steve’s phone was revealed. “See
Eeeh… so this is kinda long. But I loved writing it. Also: it’s from Shiro’s POV. So… have this:

them know how afraid he really was.
He had survived this
once… He would do it again. Because now he knew how the cruel
machinery of the arena worked, relentless and precise like clockwork.
He knew what the Druids would do to him. He knew the rules.

And rule number one was to never show your fear.
Shiro could do this, he
would survive and find his way back home. Home… wherever
that was. A small, fragile smile crept onto his face. Of course he
knew where home was. It was somewhere among the stars… Sitting in a
giant robot lion and hunting every single Galra cruiser down in order
to find him. He would survive this… for now there was Keith,
burning with the force of a thousand suns, fiery red and blazing with
anger. He had seen glimpses of what the Red Paladin was capable of…
This man would tear the universe apart and burn the whole Empire to
ashes, if that’s what it took to get Shiro back.
For now he would stick to
the rules and buy his friends as much time as possible to come and

Movement from the shadows
caught his attention, followed by a soft sob. If it hadn’t been so
eerily quiet in their cell, he might’ve missed it. Shiro froze at the
sound, eyes trained on the the figure that laid curled up on one of the cots.
The first time he’d seen
him, Shiro had actually lost it. He still had no idea where he
came from – it didn’t really matter anyway. Because he was there
nonetheless. He existed. He breathed. There was a soul in his yellow
eyes, when he gave Shiro that look. That look of utter betrayal, like
he’d hoped for something more, something that was definitely not a
beaten and bruised Shiro.
He couldn’t really
remember when or how the guards had maneuvered him into the same cell
he occupied. At some point he’d simply checked out, mind going

The Druids had taken his

fights against aliens twice his size… but THIS. This had been the
It was the day he met his
clone, that Shiro actually cried for the first time in ages. He cried
for himself. It was the same day he realized, that this would never
end. They’d always find a way to break him, to bend and twist him,
until his mind turned into something ugly. The evidence, the actual
personification of their madness driven efforts, sat right in front
of him and stared at him with piercing yellow eyes.
He had no idea how long
they’d stayed like this. Huddled against opposite walls of the same
cell and staring off into nothingness, until one of them had started
talking. It had been awkward, looking at his own face and listening
to his own voice, somewhat sounding off. More guttural. Some words
even sounded a little…purred? It was almost off-putting to see his
own face staring back at him and moving with expressions that weren’t
his. It felt like watching yourself in a mirror, but your
reflection suddenly stops moving along with you. Familiar features
turned into something otherworldly, because someone else controlled
them and poured their very soul into every twitch and pull of muscle.
They’d created a whole new
being. The clone might’ve looked like Shiro, but under their shared
features, there was a different person. Individual. Original. And so,
so human. He even had a name.
fitting, Shiro had thought at
first. But he’d come to realize quite fast, that Kuro wasn’t the dark, evil
minded counterpart he’d expected to hide behind that name.
fact, the more they talked, the more Shiro got the impression, that
their Galra-hybrid was more human than most people Shiro had met back
had suffered. He had seen horrible things, survived even worse. He’d
been ripped open and put back together, just to be torn apart again.
Some days he would find the strengh to laugh at all of this… And some days he would break under the pressure and fear. Like
any human being would do.
Days had passed. It was easy - too easy - to believe that Kuro was
anything but a monster. Especially so, after he’d been carried back
into their cell, right after one particular hard fight. Kuro had won, of
course… But was the damage his body and mind had taken really worth
Seeing him like this morphed repulsion and mistrust first into pity,
then into something else. Something Shiro didn’t really want to think
about. It felt way too close to compassion.
He couldn’t let that happen.
to the rules and survive.
And sticking to the rules meant no sympathy for Galra-clones.
In the end the universe wouldn’t have any of it.
Another sob brought him back to reality. It tore through the silence
that hung between them. As far as he could tell, Kuro was still
asleep on his small cot, but he thrashed wildly against invisible
enemies and restraints. Maybe he relived his latest fight? His latest
torture? Tears glistened in the dim purple lights.
In this moment he looked almost completely human… Vulnerable and
scared and just so much younger.
Shiros throat went dry. Kuro wasn’t a monster… never had been…
And that tore at his heart.
Despite what the Druids wanted him to be, Kuro was anything but a
Without thinking, Shiro stood up from where he sat, back against the
wall, and silently made his way towards the clone. Said clone was a
mess; twitching and and clawing at the nightmares that plagued him.
Another whimper. Small and heartbreaking. He couldn’t take it.
Shiro couldn’t stop himself from reaching out, trying to soothe Kuro

Soon he found himself huddled up on the small cot next to the other
man, arms wrapped around shaking shoulders and metal
fingers stroking carefully over a tense back. There were scars on his
back. So. So many… Shiro didn’t even want to know what had caused
these scars. Or the nightmares.
This man was definitely no monster.
I know I promised there will be a happy ending to my Kuro week… But for now… suffer with me? @kuroweek
I want to ask you something. From the lines that was said on the trailer for the new season five episodes of Steven Universe. Lapis said “Their gonna take their anger out on this planet just like they did before.” “I won’t let myself get caught up in another war.” What is your take on this and could this give us more of Lapis’ arc? Also I want know on what do you want Lapis to go through so she can have character development? I’m really worried for her and I love her so much. Your very logical.
i think lapis is leaving the barn. it’s been foreshadowed for a very long time, and this was never a mutually happy thing. it was her and the crystal gems trying to coexist, and it mainly worked because they were always avoiding a core issue: they’re determined to defend earth. lapis is not.
why don’t you put that corn in a mirror for thousands of years and then see how it feels about the table? (laughs) it would really… hate the table!
the ‘table’ is earth. and that… never changed. remember, this was long after steven tried to show her the beauty of earth, by way of uh… leaf. and cities.
of course that wasn’t going to be enough.
lapis tried to be positive, because it’s steven, and he’s her friend! she wants him to see her best, and she knows he’s the reason the other crystal gems let an old enemy live on earth, despite trying to kill humans (and their boy).
connie: you almost drowned me when you tried to steal the world’s water
lapis: …i almost drowned a lot of people.
she feels guilty for some of her actions, but after her breakdown, she’s gone back to avoiding all these things. she doesn’t really want to address bad blood with these people when she has nowhere else to go.
that’s why people often remark that she seems ‘out of character’ when talking to steven - she’s actively trying to be the beach summer fun buddy.
life on earth is really confusing… it took me a long time to get used to it. i’m still getting used to it.
but things aren’t so peachy. there are too many reasons she hates the earth, too many tensions between her and the crystal gems, too many things lapis avoids talking about (connie, steven, jasper, greg, the crystal gems as a whole)… it was only a matter of time before the fragile truce was challenged.
the other CGs don’t have much nice to say about her either.
steven: visiting peridot and lapis will be so much fun!
amethyst: …yeah, cause when i think fun, i think lapis.
pearl was nothing short of scornful of lapis in ocean gem. that never really changed. she’s only tolerating her, even in gem harvest. lapis feels the same, judging by their history, and the malice in her voice when saying peridot should be ‘the pearl’ when pretending to be crystal gems.
garnet has sympathy for malachite, but even that was with the careful neutrality of “yikes. those two are really bad for each other”. alexandrite agrees, suggesting “you two should spend some time apart”.
you ran? from blue and yellow diamond?!
the benefit of pretending everything’s fine was that lapis was left alone, without having to face more severe consequences, and for the crystal gems, that this very powerful gem didn’t give them any trouble.
but... with the diamonds setting their sights on earth, that peace is in question.
they’re gonna take their anger out on this planet just like they did before. i won’t let myself get caught up in another war.
lapis looks out for lapis - that’s always been part of her. she cares for her friends, but she’s also determined to live. despite her guilt, she can be calculating, vicious and desperate to keep the status quos that benefit her. when that is no longer possible, she adapts, lashes out… or flees.
in other words… the crystal gems will fight for earth. lapis doesn’t want to.
i think acknowledging this is good. lapis’ challenge should involve facing consequences and figuring out what’s right for her now. because this isn’t it.
peridot: earth is our home now! isn’t that worth fighting for?
peridot wants to believe she will stay, but… judging by the lighting, their eye-contact and the angles, we already have lapis’ answer:
