things that are not my dad

But those images in the bug have given me so many feelings!

Cn you imagine their daily patrols though? So fucking cute and domestic and normal??

just casually discussing mundane things as they drive around???

“Oh! Remind me that we need to put eggs on the shopping list.”

“I thought we picked those up last time?”

“Yeah but Henry had the last three this morning.”

“I don’t know where that lad puts it.”

“He’s a growing boy.”

“Aye. Growing a tapeworm by the sounds of it.”

“Did you give the hedge trimmer back to my dad?”

“Ah. I might have forgot.”

“”He’s going to need it back before Saturday.”

“Noted, love. Speaking of Saturday, has the lad spoken to you about that camping trip he was oh so determined to go on?”

“The school one? Yeah, I said he could go.”

“Splendid. i didn’t want to lend him my spyglass if he hadn’t cleared it with you first.”

“Look at you being all mister responsible.”

“We could go floor to ceiling with natural stone tile?”

“Sounds fancy.”

“I just really hate those steel taps we have.”

“Aye. That bath in there is rather garish. I put a vote in for that shower thing you showed me.”

“Which one?”

“The one on that pamphlet, with the water coming out of all corners?”

“You know we could probably fit a hot tub in…”

“Oh? I like where this is headed. Tell me more, love.”

“Swan! Pass me the siren!”

“What? why?!”

“I want to frighten Granny.”

“Are you insane?! She’ll kill you. Then me.”

“…… fair point.”

“You’d think he’d take an antihistamine or something.”

“He’s faking it. The sneezing.”

“What do you mean?”

“I replaced the chocolate powder on his foamy coffee with pepper once. The git didn’t sneeze once. It’s all an act.”

“Oh my god- Killian you didn’t!”

“I bloody did. He was getting on my nerves. How am i supposed to enjoy my lunch with that spewing up beside me?”

“You can’t do things like that.”

“Try saying that again once you’re not laughing your head off.”

“You’re impossible.”

“And you love me for it.”

“Killian! Siren!”

“What? You said-”

“It’s Leroy! Payback’s a bitch!”

“Now there’s the woman I love. Tell me when.”

Hey Emma, could you give me some productivity tips?

Hello! Here are a few:

  • clear desk, clear mind - I like to organise things before I start working. If things are messy, I get a little preoccupied and procrastinate even more. My suggestion is clear your desk, sort everything you’ll need to study and get on!
  • the two-minute rule - if a task that needs to be done takes less than two minutes, just do it. My dad has often suggested that this is a great way to sort out your priorities and so far it has worked for me. Things like checking my emails, cross off events from my planner, file something away don’t take long but get you in the mood for productivity. As they say “object in motion, stay in motion”.
  • break your time up - schedule your study time and any breaks you need to take. This helps structure your day and acts as a motivation to get things done. Especially if you can reward yourself at the end! Check out my printables for organising your time!
  • leave your phone alone - Like most people, I use my phone constantly but when I’m trying to work, it is best to leave it alone. Out of sight, out of mind. Try leaving it on silent and behind you so you aren’t tempted to pick it up after every beep. Use your break times to check it.
  • find your top three to five priorities - seeing a long list of things to do is usually, for some people, kind of counterproductive. Figure out the main things that need to be done and work on those. If you’re able to complete those main things, you’ll feel like you’ve accomplished the day’s necessities and may even want to complete some more.
  • try using a mindmap instead of a to-do list - apparently using a mindmap layout instead of a traditional list can help boost productivity. It is a little more funky way to see all your outstanding tasks and might not look as overwhelming as a super long list.
  • wear headphones - you don’t have to always listen to things but it can help block out any noise that can distract you. If you’re someone that likes some music, try songs with little or no words. This is a great playlist by Spotify.
  • don’t multitask - as much as you think you can do it, trying to multitask usually ends up in a confused mess and takes twice the time. Stick to one task at a time. If you think of something you need to do, write it down and do it later.
  • change things up - doing the same things in the same place can get boring. Make the effort every now and then to change where you’re studying or how you’re studying. This can include moving your studying from the desk to the kitchen table for a change of scenery or making flash cards instead of annotating your notes. Studying with a family member or friends is a fun way to get some work done!
  • be positive - most people have times when they just don’t want to study or anything, it is natural. However, it is not worth sitting staring at your books in an unmotivated mood just waiting to feel inspired. If you’re not feeling it, do something else for a while. Come back to it a bit later and have another go. Usually walking away and coming back is all you need to feel more productive.
  • focus on 20-30 minute periods - generally, we lose focus after a while so taking regular breaks can help give you chance to relax and refocus. Apps like Forest allow you to set a timer and will give you off your phone at the same time. Obviously, if you’re being productive, don’t suddenly cut that off because it is “time for a break”.
  • divide and conquer - figure out what is the overall task that you need to do and split it into manageable parts. For instance, with an essay the aim is to write it! Divide it into planning out what you want to write, any references you need, summarising a final draft and then writing each paragraph. By dividing bigger tasks into actionable parts you can reduce the obstacles and get through each part in a more timely manner.
  • make the effort to refocus - if you’re finding something boring and you’re unfocused, walk away for 5 minutes, get a drink and come back. If you’re really struggling, change topics for a while. Find a point where you can finish and start doing something else that is productive.

Hope that helps :-)

Please help your local black trans boy if you can.

If anyone is able to purchase anything medical for me from my wishlist I will be so grateful.
Life is becoming harder for me physically & I financially cannot afford the things that I need to live somewhat comfortably.

I suffer from Ehlers Danlos Syndrome - Im prone to dislocations, collapsing, passing out, bruising easily etc. This means I rely on crutches & a wheelchair to get around - some days I can use neither due to exhaustion.

Sleeping is also becoming harder as my hips can have subluxations - as well as my knees, shoulders and ribs.

Today I had a bad spell and my knee dislocated which caused a black out - I don’t remember a lot of what happened except for me screaming & crying for my dad.

If anyone can help I will be forever grateful.

What was your Ryder's relationship with her brother and father?

Scarlett and Scott are close. They tease each other a lot and tend to roast one another, but their mockery is tied into their shared sense of humor and is an expression of affection rather than insult. While they bicker and get on each other’s nerves like many siblings do, they were never the sort of brother-sister duo that actively tried to distance themselves because they were “too cool” to hang out with their twin. They’d say that they’ve been friends since the womb, though that friendship may occasionally involve hair pulling or Scott chasing Scarlett around the house because she stole the datapad he was reading.

Her relationship with her father is another issue. Alec was never a very emotionally expressive parent and he was absent more often than not. Scarlett’s feelings about him are a complicated mixture - she knows he loved her, but he rarely said it. She knows he appreciated the person she grew up to be, but he was hardly ever around to see it. She never doubted that he genuinely cared, but that doesn’t change the fact that part of her will probably always be a bit angry that he could never be the father she needed him to be. His work was important to him. He saw that as his way of taking care of his family - but it meant that his dedication to his career took away from him actually spending time with his wife and kids.

To be perfectly honest, I find it somewhat difficult to talk about Alec and his relationship with Scarlett. Or, uncomfortable is a better word. Because there are a lot of things the game has revealed to me that hit a little too close to home. Aspects of him that are a bit too familiar, a bit too much like my own dad. It feels a bit silly to admit it, but at one point I broke down into ugly sobs listening to his audio logs because the resemblance is a bit too strong in some ways and I’m still trying to process my grief over his death last year. I’ve never had an RPG OC where I shared something so personal in common with them. In some ways, I don’t know how to feel about that.

i love flowers nd plants so much but i always end up killing them nd I feel so bad so i gave up growing them nd now just look at others’ plants w heart eyes

Hurt Jughead if you would?

I didn’t know if you meant physically or emotionally hurt, so I went with both. This, like everything else I write, turned into fluff at the end, it’s both bughead relationship fluff and jughead and archie sorting their friendship out.

“Did you know Jughead’s dad is a Serpent?” the red headed boy had a scathing tone to his voice, almost like he wanted to hurt his best friend with his words. Jughead winced, Archie had hit his target. His father was the one thing he had always hidden, in fear that people would treat him differently, or look down on him or his innocent, perfect little sister.

“No, we didn’t know Archie and I don’t see why it matters.” Veronica stated firmly, dark eyes flashing in anger at Archie.

“Because his father nearly drove my father out of business with his bullshit! My father bailed him out time and time again and what thanks do we get!? He becomes one of those dirty good for nothings!” Archie spat, getting closer to Jughead with every word.

“He’s not a dirty good for nothing.” Jughead said, voice barely above a whisper. Archie acted as though his best friend hadn’t spoke.

“And now the homeless son of a criminal gets whatever he wants. You get my dad’s approval, you got the girl-“ Archie was cut off by Jughead’s face mere inches from his own.

“Do not talk about Betty like she’s some object. She’s an independent person, and she CHOSE ME!” Jughead’s began to see red. Archie shoved him away.

“Get off of me!”

“Then don’t talk about my girlfriend or my dad like that!”

Nobody knew who threw the first punch, but they rolled on the floor, throwing fists, until, rather quickly, both boys were pulled off of each other by Fred Andrews, a resigned look on his face.

“You always acted like brothers, but fighting at Polly Cooper’s baby shower is unacceptable. Get cleaned up. We will discuss this at home later.”

He released both boys and Jughead bolted out of the heavily floral room until his feet finally hit the pavement outside.

“Wait!” the voice of the girl he loved stopped him in his tracks. She eventually caught up to him, honey blonde curls bouncing lightly as she came to a stop at his side. He stared at his raw and bleeding knuckles.

“Juggie.” She reached up and placed his beanie back on his dark locks, it must have fallen off in the fight.

“I don’t care that your dad is a Serpent. It doesn’t change who you are Juggie.” He finally looked up from the hands to meet her eyes with his.

“You standing up to Archie was really sweet. But please, next time not AT my sister’s baby shower.”

“Promise.” He replied softly, anything for her, he thought.  She kissed him quickly, before taking his hand and leading him back inside.

He could feel the bruise blooming on his eye as the three men sat at the Andrews’ family kitchen table. Fred handed a bag of frozen vegetables to each boy for their eyes.

“Now I don’t know what went on, but I’m going to watch T.V. in the next room and you’re going to sort yourselves out.” Fred’s voice did not allow for any dispute.

After he had left the room, the boys sat in silence for a few moments both staring at the table. Finally, Archie spoke.

“I’m sorry man. I never should have said those things, I was just so jealous, seeing you with dad and with Betty, I should’ve reacted better.”

“Apology accepted. I’m sorry for hitting you.”

“You love her.” Both boys looked up simultaneously, blue eyes meeting brown. There was no accusation or curiosity in Archie’s tone, he said it as a fact, like it was something he had known his entire life. Maybe he had, he’d seen ever since they were kids that Jughead only had eyes for Betty, he’d just been too caught up in himself to notice. He made a mental promise to be a better friend, when his best friend finally spoke.

“Yeah, I do. I always have.”

Hi internet dad, I finally cleaned out my clothing drawers and found a neat clock and a fucking awesome red plaid shirt that I didn't know I had. <3 -one of ur ace trans sons

Be careful!!! Plaid shirts and ace trans boys are two of the universe’s raddest things. If there’s some kind of wacky sci-fi chemical spill while you’re holding that clock, you might become an unspeakably badass time traveling lumberjack. And while that sounds like the best thing ever, I just don’t think the world is ready for that level of cool.

I don’t think I expected that at all.

Alright i’ve got a story for you guys

Ya’ll know it’s tax season, and I’ve never done my own taxes in my life. 24 years of age and not one of those years did I learn shitall about what Taxes were. My dad did them for me my entire working life. I moved out recently so clearly I have to do my own taxes.

In comes Joe, my tax accountant guy. He’s been doing taxes for my dad for a long ass time, dude’s been in the biz for like 30 years, and he’s offering to do my taxes for free because I was unemployed last year for quite some time. (I have a good job now).

So I start asking questions about taxes, what the fuck they are, how much gets deducted from my pay, yadda yadda. Then he starts using metaphors to explain things and one of the metaphors ends up on baseball. I’m like ‘Cool. I’m from Jersey and understand this sport to an extent.’

And then he gets off topic about baseball in specific and he mentions a very japanese sounding name Ichiro Suzuki I think it was, to which I’m immediately like ‘That sounds familiar for some reason’.

So I in my sudden realization say “Isn’t he in like the national baseball hall of fame for having a million records?”

To which Joe was like “Yeah!” and he continued on with his tax explanation

So I get home like two hours later and I’m thinking to myself, I don’t watch baseball. I don’t play baseball I don’t have anything to do with baseball in my everyday life whatsoever. I’ve been to exactly one Yankees game when I was a child and that’s it. So how the fuck did I know that this Ichiro guy was a hall of famer with a shitton of records?

And then it hits me

April 10th is my father's birthday. Could it be... The pluto administration was set up by my father who wishes for the blog to be widespread on his birthday??

I wouldn’t be surprised, that’s a common dad thing. Maybe this is all a huge dad joke…

So this isn't a question it's more a statement. Today at lunch one of my guy friends looked me dead in the eye for no reason and said, "Shanks is a dad, but Law is a daddy."

I literally just woke up from a nap to check on all my tumblrs and this is by far one of the most amazing things I’ve seen in my entire life.

my dad wonders why me my sis and bro never talk to him even tho where’d we say something that he doesn’t care about he’ll ignore us and if we disagree with him then he’ll yell at us and give a long explanation on why he’s always right (because he, in his own words, the alpha of the family,) and then blast things that support his opinions and try to coax us into believing him always and he constantly questions if we “really love him” and doesn’t trust us at all i hate him i hate him i
