“I don’t feel hatred Xavier..…because tolerance, dialogue and patience were your strongest weapons.”
The husband of the policeman who was murdered by a terrorist last week in Paris delivers an emotional eulogy at his memorial service.
“Xavier, Thursday morning, as usual, I went to work and you were still asleep. We exchanged over the course of the day on our holiday project, in a country so far away that you had told me you were very impatient [because] you had never been this far. Visa details, our accommodations. These concerns invaded our messages with a frenzy all the more joyful as our airline tickets were booked since Tuesday.
You left for work at 2 o’clock in the orderly policeman’s outfit that you were so careful about because your presentation had to be irreproachable. Your comrades and you had the mission of joining the police station of the 8th arrondissement, where, as often, you had to ensure the safety of the public on this beautiful avenue, the Champs-Elysees. You had been designated a parking spot at 102 Avenue des Champs-Elysees, in front of the Cultural Institute of Turkey. This type of mission, I know, pleases you, because it was the Champs and the image of France, because it was also the culture you were protecting.
At that moment, the worst arrived for you and your comrades. One of those events that everyone dreads and hopes will never happen. You were swept away without knowing and for that I thank your good star. Your comrades were wounded, one of them seriously. They are recovering gradually and we are relieved. All were shocked.
I came home in the evening, without you, with extreme and profound grief, which may perhaps be calmed one day, I do not know. This pain made me feel closer than ever to your comrades who suffer, like you, silently; like me, silently.
And, as far as I am concerned, I suffer without hatred. I borrow this formula from Antoine Leiris [whose wife, Hélène Muyal-Leiris, was killed at the Bataclan on November 13, 2015] whose immense wisdom in the face of pain I have admired so much that I read and re-read his lines a few months ago. It is a lesson in life that has made me grow so much that it protects me today.
When the first messages were published informing Parisians that a serious event was taking place on the Champs-Elysees and a policeman had lost his life, a small voice told me that it was you, and I recalled this generous and healing formula: “You will not have my hatred.”This hatred, Xavier, I do not have because it does not resemble you, because it does not correspond to anything that made your heat beat, or what made you a gendarme, then a guardian of peace. Because the general interest, the service of others and the protection of all were part of your education and your convictions, and that tolerance, dialogue and temperance were your best weapons. Because behind the policeman there was the man. You become a policeman or gendarme only by choice. The choice of helping others, protecting society, and fighting injustices. This noble mission, which the police and the gendarmerie ensure, and which are regularly undermined.
I, as a citizen, before I even knew you, I admired it already. This policing profession is the only one to which the Declaration of the Rights of Man and the Citizen refers. Article 12 states that “the guarantee of the rights of man and citizen requires a public force”, with useful precision in this politically important period: “This force is instituted for the benefit of all, And not for the particular utility of those to whom it is entrusted.” This was the vision we shared of this profession, but only one facet of the man you were.
The other facet of man was a world of culture and joy, where cinema and music played an important part. Five cinema sessions on a beautiful sunny August day did not scare you. And of course, the original versions were privileged for the purist you were and for that language, English, that you wanted to speak to perfection. You followed the concerts, sometimes following the artists on a complete tour. Céline Dion was your star, Zazie, Madonna or Britney Spears and so many others made our windows vibrate. The theater transported you and you lived it fully. No cultural experience made you back down. Even the worst of the films was seen the day of its release, to the end, whatever its quality. A life of joy and immense smiles in which love and tolerance reigned as undisputed masters. This life of stars, you leave it like a star.
I would like to tell all your comrades how close I am to them. I would like to tell your police hierarchy how much I have seen sincerity in your eyes and humanity in your gestures. …..
…I would like to say to all those who are struggling to prevent this from happening, that these events are happening, that I know their guilt and their sense of failure, and that they must continue to fight for peace. I would like to say to all those who have shown us their affection, to their parents and to me, that we have been deeply aware of it. I would like to tell your family that we are united. And to all those closest who have been so anxious about me, who have been so anxious about us, that they are magnificently worthy of you.
To you, I would like to tell you that you will stay in my heart forever. I love you. Let us all remain worthy and watch over the peace. And keep the peace.
“Shit, they spotted us. Quick, put your Obama mask on.”
“You raided my village, killed my parents and slaughtered tens of innocent people. I was able to forgive you for all of that-tell myself it was in your nature. But then you did something heinous. Something beyond all possible hope of redemption. You killed my dog.”
“What do you mean you accidentally assassinated the Pope!?”
“I would love to give a fuck about you but sadly my last one went off to war and never returned”
“If you think I’ll stop my quest for world domination for a bag of cookies, you are,,, right… Now, gimme that!”
“What are you doing with that rubber duckie toy– OH DEAR GOD LORD HAVE MERCY”
“I’m more afraid of myself than you.”
“I already told you, there’s nothing we can do about the fights. We COULD if you stopped spoiling shows and books to everyone.”
“You, my friend, are the most unnecessary when it comes to your excessively sassy attitude.”
“I love you.” “…..What? OH APRIL FOOLS.”
“What is this, a concert for ants???”
“I made it! I’m in the list! This is being a great day since I remembered it’s a Thursday, not a Monday!”
“It’s not that I don’t believe you. It’s just that, well, I’ve got a sink full of dishes and a cat to wash.”
“When you said i had pretty eyes i thought you were complimenting me,not trying to buy them!”
“The wolves eat tonight.”
“Gee, thanks for nearly killing me because of ____!” “Listen up here, are you dead? You’d better be greateful you’re still alive tou little shit.”
"When you said you could fly, this isn’t exactly what I had in mind.”
“Sarah, I love you and all but hOW ON EARTH DO YOU KEEP SENDING OUR PETS TO SPACE?!”
“Look, just because you kidnapped me doesn’t mean I’m going to marry you.”
“How in God’s name did you even get up there?!”
“I think I misplaced my right hand”
“I did it! I got into university!” “That’s great! What course?” “Uh… Would it be a bad thing if I told you that… Dark magic and villainy?”
“Well, it just so happens that I have been a homeless man for three years now. That must mean I’m the chosen one!”
“Have your eyes always been that colour?”
“I’m going to fight the sun!”
“You can’t just run around punching people you don’t like, ____!”
“I’m not into that kinda thing.”
“Dude why did you eat all that cake on your own?”
“I just wanted to know if we could use a plastic knife”
“Uhhhh, guys? Don’t hate me, but I think I just released Satan”
“Well, fine… Just wait a little bit before you do something stupid.” “…”
“What do you mean there’s no bacon flavored ice cream!?”
“What do you mean you’re my sister? I don’t have a sister!”
“Why the hell do we need a duck to hunt Bigfoot?”
“Oh, so you can do pink explosions too”
“This isn’t my kitchen, is it?”
“Ohhh, so THAT’S what you meant by ‘shooting starts’.”
“ACHOO” “bless you” “Thank you, wait a minute I live alone”
“Put my creepy cat in a different room? Don’t be silly! I don’t even have a cat!”
“Katie, please stop shooting me with tranquilizer darts.”
“Why did you think it was a good idea to only bring a potato to this heist?”
“Okay, we make this promise now - nobody look at that fucking goat ever again.”
“Sarah, why is the cat naked?”
“Wait. You’re aroused?”
“Why would that surprise you?”
“It does on account of you being covered in blood. Wipe that smile off your face. You look like a cat in heat.”
“okay so let me get this straight, you’re not actually my long lost twin…” “yes.” “…because you’re me from another dimension” “…yes.”
“I’m sorry, but did that thing just talk?”
“I thought we promised to never speak of that incident again!”
"Sweetheart”“Yes dear”“Some of your morally challenged friends are trying to kidnap me again.”“And?”“And!?”“You’re a big girl, you can take care of yourself.”“Of course I can, but the gesture would have been nice!”
“how many epilepsy pills can you take before you overdose?” “Just one or two.” “I’m gonna have to call you back.”
“…I was GOING to ask why there’s a pink goo all over the kitchen floor but I think that can wait whilst I ask what the FUCK IS GOING ON?”
“For the last time, can you stop calling that thing 'human’”
“Okay, that is a seriously dodgy looking hat-are you certain you’re right about this?”
“Really Darling, you can stop trying to scream, we’ve already espablished that no one cares and it’s giving you unflattering lines on your forehead.”
“_______, why am I on the ceiling?”
“What the heck happened while I was at the store?
"What the actual fuck!” “I did warn-” “Yes I know you said you were crazy, but this…. This is…” “Just another Tuesday. Oh we’re late for tea!” “With who?!” “With the Queen of course, who else?”
“Despreate times call for cows.”
“Did you burn the last piece of toast again?”
“You didn’t TELL me there’d be free food!”
“Did Jesus really die for this bullshit?”
“Do you want the apocalypse?!! Because that’s how you get the apocalypse!!!”
“Goddamit, I’m dead again aren’t I? How the hell did I do it this time?”
“I may be a horrible person, but at least I am an honest one.”
“I told you, I dress to kill, now fetch me my fancy stilettos, mama’s gonna slay tonight!”
“I left the room for 3 minutes and you really want to tell me you started a war with every single planet?” “Well, I told you 3 months ago to not leave me alone.” “And I told you I have to use the bathroom 3 months ago!”
“Wow, only took 3 minutes to destroy the world.” “Let’s see if I can do it in 2!”
“So… Wh-Why- How did you flush the duck down the toilet?”
“dude. i liked that carpet. do you know how hard it is to wash bloodstains out of carpets.”
“Don’t worry, it’s much worse than it looks.”
“What are you doing ___?” “I’m camping.” “No you’re beside tree with a blank-” “CAMPING”
“WHAT THE FUCK IS A DUCKPOTATO”
“PUT THE PUPPY DOWN AND FIGHT ME LIKE A MAN!”
“PLEASE DON’T HANG UP! YOU AND YOUR FAMILY ARE IN DANGER!”
“What the hell kind of scream was that? And how did you make it?! ”
“Hey, uhm… Hate to interrupt your conversation, but why the fuck is there a giraffe on the soup aisle”
“You mean to tell me that somebody decided it was a good idea to cross plums and apricots, but nobody can figure out why my cat has RABBIT ears?”
“Sorry but um… why is there a fox and a bear singing Ooh la la by Britney Spears on the balcony? And where is my chicken, Pudding?!”
“Where did you get LIGHT-UP COMBAT BOOTS? THEY CHANGE COLOR?!”
“So you’re telling me there was a genie trapped in that can of soup? And you accidentally ATE THE GENIE?!”
“Listen…don’t take this the wrong way, but…I love the OTHER you better.”
“Tell me why, exactly, did you need the rubber chicken? ”
“Look, I’m not a liar, alright? And I ain’t overdramatic or hyperbolic or whatever else you wanna call me. So when I say I would sell my soul for a pancake right now, I mean I will literally sell my soul for a pancake right now. And maybe a million dollars.”
“Wait a second, you’re telling me that….. YOU’VE BEEN DATING SATAN BEHIND MY BACK FOR FOUR WHOLE YEARS?!!!”
“Well dad did say he would be gone for five days…what the hell? Let’s go to the corner store!”
“Why did you buy 74 melons?!”
“Where’s the toaster?” “It’s in the kitchen… Why do you have a fork?” “K, thanks.”
“Death, out of all the things in this world, why are so afraid of ____?”
“This floor is like my life; Cold and Hard.”
“So you’re telling me that I am the only thing that is preventing a Third World War, right?” “Yeah, pretty much.”
“I don’t know your name and you don’t know mine but I promise it will turn out okay.”
“Little did you know, they were slowly turning into werewolves.”
“Umm… I may have possibly accidentally blown up another planet”
“I told you not to do that… now look, you’ve lost your hand!”
“Every time you speak I literally die a little”
“One baby soul please, Adult souls give me gas!”

This heart, my heart, is small
and the love, my love, is large.
It travels in the wind, descends,
loosens a pomegranate then falls
in the wandering of two almond
eyes, then ascends in the dawn
of two dimples and forgets
the way back to house and name.
This heart, my heart, is small
and the love is large …
Mahmoud Darwish, from “Tuesday And The Weather Is Clear,” If I Were Another (Farrar, Straus and Giroux, 2011)
For their tenth birthday, Stiles had gotten Allison a mug from a kiosk at the mall with AREN’T YOU GLAD WE EVOLVED OUT OF NEIGHBORING CELLS on one side and a picture from their school trip to the zoo, the one where Allison was hitting a goat trying to eat Stiles’ shirt, on the other. It’s such a metaphor for their entire existence that Allison puts it on the mantle of every subsequent house that they live in, next to their parents’ wedding portrait.
Stiles and Allison are twins and it’s amazing. They’re both raised as hunters but it doesn’t stop them from falling in love with werewolves. ❤️❤️❤️
After two years as a deputy for the Beacon Hills Sheriff’s Department, not to mention a lifetime of being the kid of an officer of the law, Stiles had seen some things in his time. Some weird shit happened in Beacon Hills, really.
However, no amount of animals mauled in the woods, people going missing, psychotic teenagers going on killing sprees with their trained pet mountain lions (or so the official report stated; Stiles didn’t trust his dad’s account of that night back when he was in high school) could prepare Stiles for the sheer ‘what the hell?!’-ness of waking up at six in the morning for his shift, pouring himself a cup of coffee, and then noticing that outside the back window there was a little girl playing in his flower beds.
Single parent Derek (◡‿◡✿) Deputy Stiles (◠‿◠✿) Werewolf mini-Hale (ʘ‿ʘ✿) Happy family ending (˶◕‿◕˶✿)
Derek is about to leave, content with the smell of blood as proof that the Fury is dead when he hears it.
It’s faint and uneven and even with its help, it takes Derek a full minute of scanning the clearing before he finally spots the small heap that must be the human. It’s down on the far side of the canyon, almost completely hidden by a tall oak tree and–Derek jumps down before he thinks about it.
He knows what he has to do. Furies are dangerous. Furies are fire and smoke and a funeral he barely remembers. He lands almost silently and makes sure his hands are fully shifted into claws and then slowly moves forward.
This is the greatest au that I never knew I needed. I love Sterek, I love How to Train Your Dragon and this AU is perfect. Two great people collaborated and nothing short of greatness came of it.
Derek finds a young man injured in a ravine on the border of his ranch. That’s strange enough, but the mystery only deepens when the young man wakes up without any memory of what he was doing out there.
Single parent Derek who is also alpha of his pack all wrapped up in a historical au and I was instantly smitten. Throw in some mystery and an alpha pack threatening and it’s great from beginning to end.
Suddenly his entire body felt tingly and sensitive and he could swear gravity had failed on him just then; he couldn’t feel the chair he was sitting on, or where he’d planted his feet on the floor, or the clothes he was wearing, or the pen he was holding, and then his vision started blurring and morphing into a picture of some place that was not his classroom.
“—it,” he finished with a different voice.
Or, the AU in which, on their 22nd birthday, a person will switch bodies with their soulmate and is left to figure out whom they’re temporarily inhabiting, and how to get back to each other. But because Stiles is Stiles, he forgets that it’s his birthday, and the bodyswap takes him by surprise.
Soulmate au that’s adorable in premise and in execution. It’s great. Stiles goes to a math final and forgets that he’s gonna be switching bodies with his soulmate because it’s his birthday. Alive Laura helps out and it’s a good use of misunderstandings in a fic and it doesn’t get overdone which is great.
Here’s the latest on the Trump administration and Russia:
The United States is facing political chaos as more and more reports emerge tying President Donald Trump’s aides to Russia. An FBI investigation is underway, members of Congress are calling for reviews, and the public, reporters, and intelligence community are looking for clarity amid many seeming contradictions.
Members of President Trump’s campaign had repeated contact with Russian intelligence officials, according to phone records and call intercepts first reported by The New York Times on Tuesday evening.
The calls were intercepted around the time that the intelligence community found evidence that the Russians had tried to interfere with the presidential election to get Trump elected by hacking into the Democratic National Committee’s computers and releasing emails.
This come a day after Gen. Mike Flynn resigned as President Trump’s national security adviser after it was revealed he communicated with a Russian official about sanctions before Trump took office — which could have been illegal — then misled Vice President Mike Pence about it.
Trump has been aware of the situation with Flynn since Jan. 26, White House Spokesman Sean Spicer said, adding that the White House was “reviewing and evaluating” the issue “on a daily basis for a few weeks.” But, on Feb. 4, Trump indicated he wasn’t aware of the scandal surrounding Flynn.
At noon Wednesday Trump is scheduled to have a press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu.
Trump went on a Twitter rant this morning after it was revealed his campaign was in contact with Russian intelligence. He started by calling out the “fake news media.”
Then moved on to “Hillary Clinton’s losing campaign.”
After that, Trump tweeted that the intelligence community was illegally filtering information to “failing” news outlets — “Just like Russia.”
Then he reminded everyone that Russia took Crimea during the Obama administration.
Distancing himself from the “scandal,” he said the real issue is the “un-American” handing out of classified information.
Summary → A year of silently pinning over your best friend and neighbor Bucky Barnes ends happier than expected when you spend Valentine’s Day together.
Word Count → 2.9K (I’m a wordy bitch, okay?)
Warnings → Cursing, oral sex (female receiving), unprotected sex (don’t be silly, wrap your willy!). Fluff? Definitely fluff.
A/N → Happy #FreakyFriday y’all! I apologize for the delay, but I had an unplanned twelve hour work shift today. With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, I thought I’d try my hand at fluffy smut (it’s a first for me - so go easy on this fic). Other than that, enjoy!
A nervous giggle flew from your lips as you twirled on your toes to face the full-length mirror hung over the back of your bedroom door. Your usual untamed knot of hair had been brushed and curled into effortless beach waves that cascaded down your shoulders and back. You wore nothing but Bucky’s trademark, burgundy Henley, which you’d confiscated the last time you’d done laundry together. It hung loosely over your frame, hitting mid-thigh and creating an innocently sexy, ‘girl next door’ type of vibe. You undid the first few buttons of the V-neck, to show off just the right amount of cleavage. You opted for some mascara and pink chapstick, making your lips appear fuller. Thoroughly satisfied with your appearance, you exited your room and tiptoed excitedly down the hall.
Over the past eighteen months, as your friendship with Bucky had grown closer, the both of you had developed several traditions. Every Sunday you’d get together for pasta, you’d lift weights with each other three times a week, and Tuesday nights were spent on Bucky’s couch with abundant amounts of junk food while binge watching television shows. Unless there was a particularly lengthy mission for the team or some other out of the ordinary incident, neither of you ever bailed on your plans. And tonight, Valentine’s Day, was not about to be any different. You had been secretly ecstatic when Bucky double-checked you’d still be getting together for takeout and Netflix, despite the holiday.
Hours before Donald Trump announced a new executive order aimed at better support of historically black colleges and universities on Tuesday, students at those schools were already disappointed.
Allyson Carpenter, president of Howard University’s student association, was one of those students.
“Maybe I’m too idealistic, but you’re talking to a man who in his first 30 days tried to ban Muslims from this country, deported undocumented immigrants like it’s a game,” Carpenter said in a phone interview.
“If you’re in the room with the president and you’re president of HBCU, it’s such a wasted opportunity.”
The disappointment stemmed not just from cynicism about the Trump administration’s support of HBCUs to bolster its credibility in shaping urban education policy, but with the schools’ leaders deciding to meet with Trump at all.
Trump’s executive order capped off days of publicized and surprise dealings between he and leaders of HBCU schools across the country.
In turn, students at those schools worry that the almost sacred principles of working in service of underrepresented communities that have sustained HBCUs for more than a century are in jeopardy. Read more (3/1/17 12:13 PM)
Liberty German, 14, and Abigail Williams, 13, were first reported missing by their families in Delphi Indiana on Feb. 13 after they did not return from a hike.
The close knit Delphi community of only around 3,000 people were horrified when their two bodies were discovered near deer creek early Tuesday morning just a day after they had gone missing. According to Indiana state police sergeant Kim Riley Based on “the way the bodies were found,” the police believe the girls were murdered
The seemingly innocuous photos above were posted on Germans snapchat story which portrays a scenic bridge and Williams walking across. These two photos were the last time the pair were seen alive
Tuesday will take twice as much of your life, but in the usual span of time. As efficient as it may seem, Tuesday has not consulted anyone about maybe not being allowed to do that. You can’t just go around taking more of someone’s allotted life than you were assigned, Tuesday, because that is cheating!
They finally get a lead on Kelly Kline on a Saturday. Spurred on by guilt and probably a bit of cabin fever, Castiel turns right around from the hunt he just returned from with Mary to chase her down.
“Oh,” Castiel says, turning. He sticks a hand into his coat pocket. “I almost forgot.”
It isn’t like him to forget things, so the move has to be calculated. Then again, he loses his phone all over the place. Maybe he really did just forget whatever it is. Dean’s startled out of his musing by a shiny projectile hurtling towards his face, which he catches gracelessly in one hand. The metal, whatever it is, feels cool in his palm. He blinks up at Castiel.
Viktor is a barista at a coffee shop near where Yuuri works. Yuuri stops in each morning and they obviously notice each other -- there are jokes about spelling Yuuri's name wrong etc. But one morning Yuuri walks up to order and Viktor already knows his standard order and that makes Yuuri super anxious because he doesn't like people remembering him since it feels like a lot of attention so he stops going to the coffee shop in the morning... take it away :D
Yuri or Yuuri?
length: 1.6k; rating: all ages;
“So the barista is…”
Attractive, Yuuri’s mind finishes automatically. The barista is off-putting in simultaneously the best and worst possible ways. He’s off-putting in the best way because he’s gorgeous, silver-haired and blue-eyed and everything that Yuuri’s wildest dreams couldn’t even come up with. But he’s also off-putting in the worst way because the barista’s aforementioned attractiveness makes Yuuri’s words come out in awkward, pieced-together chunks that make him appear to be an idiot.
“…nice,” Phichit finishes his phrase, smiling knowingly at Yuuri.
“He’s nice,” Yuuri agrees, dismissing the topic with a wave of his hand. He takes another sip of his drink.
Phichit takes the cup out of his hand, and Yuuri tries to grab it back, but his friend is squinting at the name written on it. Yuri. “He spells your name wrong.”
“Plenty of people do.”
“There’s no line right now. Why don’t I go correct him?”
First Look: Paul Bettany and Elizabeth Olsen’s Characters Kiss in Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War
This was bound to happen eventually.
Avengers: Infinity War doesn’t hit theaters until May 4, 2018, but E! News has fans’ first look at Vision (Paul Bettany) and Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) sharing a tender moment in the adventure movie. The two actors were snapped filming on set in Edinburgh, Scotland, Tuesday.
Bettany, 45, and Olsen, 28, filmed the same scene “eight or nine times,” according to an eyewitness. It began with Vision opening the window curtains using his special abilities. Moments later, Scarlet Witch appeared by his side “and they get very close and finally kissed.”
Romantic tension between the characters has been building since Vision became a sentient being in 2015’s Avengers: Age of Ultron—and it intensified in 2016’s Captain America: Civil War.
Time had passed both slowly and quickly. Nothing had changed and yet everything had changed.
In reality, things were how they always had been. Your friendship with Yoongi continued like normal and he still had no clue that Hoseok had confided in you about Yoongi’s past that night.
You would meet up and go for drinks or spend days out together just walking around town and every time you would discover new parts that you hadn’t previously known existed. He had this strange ability of being able to whisk you away from your everyday life and he helped you to see the beauty in even the most mundane of things. There really wasn’t anyone like him.
He would always bring his camera and your eyes had quickly grown adjusted to the intense white flash that would often pour out from it.
On the surface, everything seemed perfect.
However, in your mid a perpetual hurricane raged on. You tried to calm it, you tried to gather your emotions and keep yourself stable but it was to no avail. You had hoped whatever it was you thought you felt towards Yoongi would quickly fade away. You’d longed for it to be nothing more than a short lived infatuation. Yet, if anything, your feelings had only amplified. Every time you saw him smile it was as if another piece of you fell in love with him.
Everyday you would remind tell yourself that just being able to stand by his side was enough. You were well aware of how lucky you were. So on a rainy Tuesday as you walked through town after a night of helplessly watching various girls try to hit on Yoongi, you tried to convince yourself that everything was fine. He had turned them all down of course, he was as highly selective as ever. That didn’t stop the terrible feeling of jealously that consumed you every time he paid even a little bit of attention to one of them, the toxic emotion would thick and heavy through your veins, weighing your body down.
Small droplets of rain landed on your face and slowly slid down your skin. You could feel your hair and clothing becoming damp and uncomfortable, the cotton fabric was clinging to your body unpleasantly making you feel constricted. If Yoongi was here he would have scolded you for being so careless as to go outside with no umbrella despite knowing how bad the weather forecast was.
You veered off down one of the smaller side streets, the canopy of branches and leaves above now somewhat sheltering you from the weather that continued to rage of violently. Pulling your coat a little tighter around your body you broke out into a slow run. You didn’t even need to look where you were going, your legs would take you there automatically, as if it was an instinct hardwired into your DNA. By this point perhaps it was.
Yoongi’s house always looked the same, narrow, two storeys built in orange brick, with ugly black guttering running down the sides and across the top that stuck out like a sore thumb. The windows seemed to be perpetually dirty even though he insisted that he did clean them once a month.
The place was cheap and unrefined, but it was more like home to you than even your parent’s house was.
The door was unlocked so without knocking you swung it open and immediately stepped into the comforting warmth of his hallway. Some camera equipment and lighting lay in black bags on the grubby linoleum floor along with a large pile of shoes, all belonging to Yoongi of course.
“Yoongi, you here?” you called out after a few moments of silence, if he was in you couldn’t hear any signs of him lurking around somewhere.
You pulled your shoes off and dumped them in one of the corners of the room before hugging your arms to your chest, your body was still shaking from the bitter coldness of outside.
“I’m up here,” he finally replied, voice echoing down the stairs.
He sounded tired. There was a certain way he talked when he’d had a sleepless night, his words would be slower and voice rougher and it was irritatingly sexy.
You ascended up the stairs and barged your way into the bedroom.
The curtains were drawn so that any natural light was completely blocked out, but you knew better than to insist on opening them, he’d always hiss and complain when you tried. He sat hunched over his laptop furiously typing, fingers practically moving at the speed of light and he was so absorbed in what he was doing you don’t think he’d even heard you enter.
His hair hung down over his eyes and you could tell that he hadn’t brushed it in awhile, purple circles hung underneath his eyes and his lips looked chewed up and cracked. Yet you were so far gone that even in this state, you thought he looked absolutely beautiful.
“Are you just gonna stand there and watch me like a creep all day?” he asked with a smirk, finally looking up from his laptop screen, “Also don’t expect me to sympathise with you because you’re cold and wet, you’re the one that was too stupid to remember to take an umbrella with you today.”
He moved over a little to make room as you sat down on the bed, you curiously peered at his laptop screen to see that he appeared to be writing some sort of essay. The word count was on 4,035.
“Did the genius Min Yoongi really leave an essay ‘til the last minute?” you asked playfully and without even looking away from the laptop he moved his hand and lightly hit you on your upper arm. You giggled before slumping down a little to get more comfortable. The pattering of his fingertips against the keys was oddly relaxing, he typed so fluidly, with no hesitation, as if he knew exactly what he wanted to say.
You remained quiet, just enjoying the feeling of him being next to you. That was something you treasured about the relationship you’d built with him, you were so comfortable around each other that you didn’t feel the need to talk all the time.
When the sound of the typing finally ceased he snapped shut his laptop and turned to finally look at you properly.
“I wanted to talk to you about something,” he said pointedly. You looked up from your phone and saw that the expression plastered across his face was one of seriousness, so immediately, you put it away in your pocket and sat up.
From the way he fidgeted and gripped the sheets in his large fists, you could tell he was a little anxious. This in turn roused feelings of nervousness within you, if Yoongi wanted to say something he would usually say it with no hesitation, with hardly any hints of emotion.
