Me: God, multiplayer/competitive games are like, really fun. I wonder why I don’t play them so much?
Other players: *Use homophobic/transphobic/ableist slurs, call team mates useless even if they themself are bottom scoring, yell at everyone for playing wrong, gets mad even though its a casual/unranked match*
One of my very first visits to stage door (2nd I think). This was quite early on
during the play’s run and most of the casts came out at that time (apart from Jamie of course) but it was such an experience! I was so shy the first time I couldn’t even say thank you properly and just ended up smiling too much and shoving the programme book to be signed. I was still getting to know the casts at this point and had to constantly look into the biography section each time a cast walked out (I completely missed Paul Bentall and Barry the first time). You can’t imagine how happy I was to see Sam Clemmett and Anto B and was even more amazed at how humble they all were. I told Alex that he was my favourite ‘villian’ and he gave me such a snarky Draco smile that I swooned. Poppy was so kind, I mentioned it was my second time watching it (I think back then there weren’t that many that had seen it more than once) and asked my opinion on the difference in the performances. Also I think Paul had his daughter with him that night too and did I mention what an amazing person he is?!
Was quite surprised by the crowd, no shoving or pushing, just pure joy and excitement shared between fans. There is so much love for CC <3 I’m seeing it again this Sat 25th if anyone wants to meet =)
i want to see alex and maggie in bed together. i want to see alex in reading glasses with her book, and maggie with her messy bun working on paperwork. i want maggie finally snuggling down to go to sleep and alex absentmindedly rubbing her back while she reads some more. i want to see alex already awake some morning, watching maggie sleep because she looks so cute even though she snores a little bit. i want to see maggie coming in extra late when alex is already asleep, crawling into bed and immediately big spooning alex so she can kiss her neck because she’s happy to be home. i just really want those sweet, domestic moments that happen naturally when you’re comfy with someone.
@new d&d players and dungeon masters starting because of critical role, aquisitions inc, the adventure zone, etc:
hey listen. i know it’s really super easy to compare and set up expectations that your game, your DMing or your roleplaying should be like theirs. i know. it’s super easy to look at matthew mercer and feel like you’ll never be as entertaining as him or you’ll never be as good at roleplaying as the cast, or that you’ll never be as funny as the mcelroys.
but listen to me. i’m serious. they are professionals, but they’re playing with their friends. every single person brings something unique and great to a tabletop game, and if you let go of the expectation that everything needs to be perfect, everything needs to be like the podcasts you listen to or the shows you watch–
it WILL be perfect. d&d is a game where you can do whatever the fuck you want and you should do that, but realize that with these expectations are unfair to your fellow players, your dm, and most importantly yourself. sometimes it takes a while for people to get comfortable with how things are. sometimes it doesn’t. that’s ok. just enjoy your game as much as you can
Everyone is entitled to their opinions and everyone is entitled to their beliefs … but if the opinions and feelings are rooted in denying certain people basic human rights, I’ve got a problem with that.
