Aliens Vs Menstrual

Re-posting this so folks actually see the damn thing.

Please forgive the length… the plot bunny got away from me… very far away from me…

There was blood on the floor.

Avrex blinked and stared at the red droplets on the floor. More red caught xer eye. There was more just under the edge of the seat. As if someone had tried to wipe it up but hadn’t thought to get under the very edge. Only one species on board had red blood.

This had to belong to one of the humans.

But why would blood be here in waste room of all places? Granted, humans were an odd breed, and used the waste rooms for more than the elimination of waste. Some even installed mirrors and extra lights and spent an hour or more in there! But blood? Why here? And why on the waste reclaimer lid? Surely if one of the humans was injured they would go to the infirmary….

…wouldn’t they?

Avrex shook xer scaled head and stalked out of the waste room. Xey would get to the bottom of this.

The humans had been hired three months prior. Two at first. Then another two a month later. And a fifth one a month after that. They were extremely useful, and didn’t really take up much space.

Hunting down any of said humans was a challenge.

Three of the humans were mechanics, and could be found shimmying their slender bodies between various components of the ship to reach the part they desired to work on. Even with an extra set of large eyes, Avrex would often walk right by the little beings, missing their little oil and grease smeared bodies in amongst the equally oil and grease smeared engine components. At a hulking ten feet tall, Avrex often missed the little monsters because they were under something or other.

The massive first officer dismissed the mechanics as a viable first target for questions. Searching through the entrails of the ship for crew members that xey may or may not find was not an effective use of xer energy or time. Xey could always catch the mechanics at the designated meal time if the other two humans couldn’t answer xer questions satisfactorily.

The fourth human was no easier to find. He was a security guard, and could be anywhere on the ship at any given time. Despite the fact that he wasn’t a mechanic, he seemed to share their proclivity for climbing on things, and for crawling into spaces that were inaccessible to most of the rest of the crew.

That left Carl.

Avrex made xer ponderous way down to the metallurgy lab. The human designated as Carl was not like the others. He was much older. The kind, gentle being had been the first human the ship had taken on, and had paved the way for the four other humans that followed. The others respected him greatly, turning to him for wisdom and advice. Surely Carl would have some insight into why there was human blood in the waste room.

Carl was right where he was supposed to be.

Avrex pressed the alert button and patiently waited to be granted entry just outside the lab doors. The request was swiftly answered, the doors sliding open with a soft hiss to admit the ship’s first officer.

Carl had put his work station into a safe position, and turned in his seat to give the hulking alien from Jarrok his full and undivided attention. Avrex had always liked that about Carl. While the human ability to multi-task often came in useful, it was sometimes disconcerting to hold a conversation with a being that never once even glanced in xer general direction while they spoke.

Carl smiled as he stripped of his protective gear. “Avrex. What brings you down here?”

The first officer assumed a parade rest position. “I have a query about human behavior, and had hoped that you could explain.”

The human chuckled and ran a hand through his graying hair. “Well, I’ll do my best. Go on and fire away.”

Avrex paused, then decided to ignore the odd turn of phrase. Experience had shown that large amounts of time were wasted when human parlance was questioned. “I discovered a small amount of blood in one of the communal waste rooms. I am aware that humans use waste rooms for more than their intended purpose, but I am at a loss as to what form of task could take place in a waste room, and possessed the potential to cause injury. The blood was red, thus it can be safely assumed that such belonged to one of the humans on board. But none of the humans have sought out medical aid. If one of my crew is injured in any capacity, as first officer I am entitled to know, so that I may account for such injuries when drawing up the duty roster for the coming cycles.”

The elderly male frowned thoughtfully. “There are a couple things it might be. But I’m not going to stir up panic by picking the wrong one. Which waste room was it you found the blood?”

Feeling dread curdle in xer gut, Avrex gave him the correct room number.

Carl nodded. “Melanie was supposed to be working up near that sector. More’n likely it’s her blood you found. Come on, I’ll walk up with you and help straighten this mess out.” Avrex started to protest. Surely xey could manage without taking Carl away from his work if given the pertinent information. The elderly human shook his head in seeming amusement. “Trust me Avrex, it’s better if I go along. If this is what I think it is, you’d just end up with a very angry or hurt mechanic on your hands.”

The first officer shut xer maw, frilled ears pinned back against the sides of xer head. What could possibly be going on that would result in a human being injured or angry?

Xey walked back down to the correct deck with Carl, deciding to wait and see. If what Xey had heard from other ships was true, an angry human was something to be avoided if at all possible.

Despite the consistent trouble the rest of the crew had in locating the mechanics while about their work in the engines, Carl seemed to have no problem tracking down the correct human.

At his call, she crawled out of a space so tight Avrex wasn’t sure xey could’ve gotten a paw in.

The second human the ship had taken on, Melanie had been hired barely a week after Carl. She was by far the smallest of the humans, and the quietest. Her peers took shameless advantage of her small size, leaving work in the tightest spaces to her. She didn’t seem to mind, preferring to work alone rather than with her group as most humans were purported to do. In fact, with the exception of Carl she seemed to avoid all of her kind for the most part.

The raven haired female flashed her teeth in the odd threat gesture that humans insisted denoted welcome, amusement, or joy.

Melanie wiped her hand on a rag and stuck it out to Carl for a traditional human greeting. “Hey Carl. Did one of your do-dads break down again?”

“Not this time dear.” Carl assured. “The first officer swung by with a question, and it seemed you’d be most likely to have the answer. Seems Avrex swung by the restroom and found human blood on the floor. Any chance you’d know something about that?”

Melanie paled.

The elder human nodded and patted her shoulder, seeming to have derived his answer from her silence. “It’s alright dear, no need to worry. I was married for thirty-five years before cancer took my sweet Belle, and she and I raised six beautiful daughters. There isn’t a thing under the sun I haven’t seen, and I’ve made more trips to the store for feminine things than I could probably count! Do you need any help, or do you have everything in order?”

The young female slowly relaxed at his kindly manner. She shook her head, asserting that she had ‘it’ covered. Avrex shifted xer weight, subtly drawing the humans’ attention back to xer question.

“You’re the only woman on board, Mel. Would you like to explain? Or would you rather I did?”

Melanie’s cheeks started to change color underneath the grease. “I can do it.”

Carl seemed pleased by the answer. “Go get ‘em then. And if you need anything, you go ahead and ask me or Cal. That’s the lad over in security, in case you didn’t know. Lord knows he’s young, but he won’t give you any grief if you need something and can’t get it yourself.”

Calling a farewell, Carl patted Avrex on the shoulder and headed back to his lab, leaving the massive reptilian being towering over the tiny female.

Avrex slowly squatted down as low as xey could manage in an attempt to put her at ease. Xer experience with humans was still somewhat limited, but observation had shown that humans tended to be slightly intimidated by a difference in height.

Her cheeks were changing color again. Looking down, the human female mumbled something at the floor.

Avrex cocked xer head. “Could you repeat that more clearly please?”

Melanie seemed to gather her courage and finally looked the massive officer in the larger pair of xer four amber colored eyes.

“I’m on my period.” The admission made, she seemed to lose some of her discomfort. “It started a few hours ago while I was up in the machinery. I had to climb down and run to the rest roo-damnit, waste room to clean myself up. I’m sorry about the blood, I’ll be more careful in future.”

Avrex cocked xer head. “I do not understand. I was under the impression that ‘period’ is a form of punctuation denoting the end of a sentence. How then, can you be ‘on’ it?”

She stared at xem for a long moment, eyes widening as she slowly seemed to realize that xey genuinely had no idea what she was talking about. “Ok. Um… the word ‘period’ also means a length of time. Human females use the word as slang to talk about a specific time. It’s… God, I can’t believe I’m giving an alien the talk. Ok, so basically…”

Avrex listened in growing astonishment as the little female described a process by which one of her internal organs partially deconstructed itself once a month unless she put it to use in forming a baby. If she was to be believed, it happened once a month from approximately age eleven to age forty to fifty. Admittedly, compared to the amount of blood in the human body the amount lost during one of the episodes she described was relatively small. But, she explained that other fluids were expelled as well, along with pieces of the organ that was shredding and rebuilding itself. The entire process took place approximately every three to four weeks.

Avrex shook xer head. “Shouldn’t such a process be painful?”

Melanie shrugged. “Well yeah. I know some women who stay in bed the entire time they’re on because it hurts so bad.”

The first officer reared back in alarm. “Are you in pain?!”

Another shrug. “My uterus is shredding it’s inner lining because I’m not knocked up with a baby. Yes, I hurt.”

Avrex had to work hard not to snap xer teeth in xer anger on Melanie’s behalf. “If human females require bed-rest while experiencing one of these ‘periods’, why are you not in bed? Surely if you explained the situation to the medical officer he would have given you medical leave. We do not require a crew member to return to active duty immediately after surgery, surely an internal organ coming apart cannot be so different!”

Melanie laughed. Laughed!

The little human caught xer hand and gave it a squeeze. “I said some humans Avrex. Some. Most don’t experience severe pain. If it gets bad, it means that more than likely something else is wrong. Most of us wear special liners in our clothes or inserted into our bodies to catch the blood so we don’t get it all over the place. And we just go on with our daily routine. Grin and bear it. We’ll be alright.”

The first officer wasn’t convinced. “At least tell me that you have spoken to the medical officer about something to relieve the pain.”

She shook her head, holding up a hand to forestall xer protests. “Some women do. I don’t like using pain medication for something I can tough out. Humans have this thing, where we can slowly build up an immunity to certain drugs through prolonged use. I avoid pain medication so I don’t build up an immunity. That way, when I do need it I know it works really well. As soon as I realize my period is starting, I start drinking more water. The human body is about sixty percent water, and making sure that I’m properly hydrated speeds up the process and makes it hurt less. Instead of dealing with it for six to seven days, it only lasts three to four. Seriously Avrex, I’m fine, and I’ve got a handle on the rest of the symptoms. There’s nothing to worry about.”

Avrex felt as if xer head was spinning. “Other symptoms?”

The human bared her teeth in another smile. “Most of us get moody because our hormone level fluctuate a bit. It hits every woman a bit differently. Some women turn into a weepy mess. Me? I turn into a grouchy, irritable, cow who avoids everyone like the plague. Other women will get angry at the drop of a hat and bite the head off the nearest individual that annoys her.” She must’ve seen the look of shock and horror on xer face because she immediately backtracked. “Shit, not literally! I mean they just get overly aggressive, usually verbally.”

She waited for a second, to make sure xey understood, then went on.

“Aside from the moodiness it’s a grab bag of ways your period will affect you. Some people get cravings, some people get back pain, or their breasts”, she put her hands illustratively on the soft mounds on her chest to be sure that there wasn’t any miscommunication between them about what ‘breasts’ were, “get sore. Most of us get cramps in our lower abdomens right about here.” Again the illustrative touch, this time to a spot just below her belt. “Some of us have an increased sex drive, while others just want to roll themselves up in a blanket like a burrito, and a lot of us are fatigued. Every woman’s different.”

Avrex slowly shook xer head, completely dumbfounded by the sudden influx of information. “Is…is there anything you currently require? I know that Carl already asked, and you informed him that you were sufficiently prepared, but…”

Her face softened. “I’m fine Avrex. Really. I just…”

“Hey! Melanie! You gonna keep up with the men today, or are you gonna have a tea party with the dinosaur all day?”

Avrex almost responded.

Almost.

Instead, xey remained stationary, watching as a strange change came over the female before xem. Where before she had been timid and shy, at the sudden derogatory call from the newest of the five humans, a male named Dave, her face suddenly became calm and smooth as granite.

She slowly turned and cast a threatening, and yes Avrex was sure that this smile was definitely a threat, at Dave and the other male mechanic Josh. Josh had been the fourth human taken on, hired within days of Cal the security guard.

As Dave was the one who’d spoken, Melanie seemed to focus most of her attention on him. “Care to run that by me again smart mouth?”

Josh, older and more mature than Dave, seemed to understand the unspoken warning. “Dave…”

The younger human ignored him. “Ooh, someone woke up on the bitchy side of the bed this morning. What’s a matter sweet cheeks?” He made an expression that Avrex would later learn was called a leer. The male grabbed her by the arm. “Maybe you just need a little action to settle you down, yeah? How ‘bout it babe? I bet I can get that stick out of your ass. Hm? Maybe put something better…”

A large wrench whistled through the air and stopped within a micron’s breadth of the young human’s nose. It was easily the length of the male’s forearm, and had previously been occupying a loop on Melanie’s belt. He stared at it, cross eyed and pale, then looked at the diminutive little female who could’ve easily broken his nose if she’d had less control.

“What’s a matter?” She parroted the question back, voice tight and dark. “What’s a matter is that I started my day in a fountain of my own blood, and that’s how you’re going to end yours if you ever call me ‘sweet cheeks’, ‘babe’, or any other cutesy nickname again. And as for keeping up with you ‘men’, I’m already three days ahead of schedule. You’ve barely been on this ship a month and you’re already two weeks behind. So I’d say it’s you who aught to be keeping up with me, because it seems anything you can do I can do better and faster while bleeding.” Her dark eyes narrowed. “And lastly? If you ever lay hands on me again? I promise you, they will never find your body.”

She slid the wrench back into her belt, cast a respectful nod to Avrex, and calmly crawled back up into the machinery.

Dave stared after her for a long moment, then pointed. “Josh! Did you see what that bitch just…”

The older male cuffed him over the back of the head. “You’re an idiot. Never piss off something that bleeds for seven days a month and doesn’t die. I haven’t got to know her all that well yet, but Mel is worth ten of you. That woman works her ass off. If you ever go after her again, and she doesn’t kill you, you can bet that I will happily beat you black and blue!”

Avrex bared xer teeth, allowing a tiny warning growl to rumble deep inside xer barrel chest. The reptilian first officer slowly stood to xer full ten foot height, looming over the miscreant. “Consider yourself warned.”

An additional talk with Carl yielded a few ‘pearls of wisdom’ concerning ‘feminine’ needs.

With the thunderstruck captain’s blessing, Avrex ordered small metal receptacles installed in each of the public waste rooms on board at their next stop. Carl had suggested small boxes, but given the frequency of meteor showers and pirate attacks, evasive maneuvers were engaged fairly often. Avrex thought it better to have the receptacles affixed to the wall and a basic bolt lock placed on the lid so that the ‘feminine’ supplies wouldn’t be thrown around the waste rooms when the ship had to duck or roll suddenly.

Upon having the situation explained, the other alien members of the crew who hadn’t been released for shore leave were more than happy to help. They liked Melanie, and the discovery that she spent a week in pain each month and gave no outward sign was disconcerting to say the least.

Other changes included stain proof bedding, a heating pad, a new fluffy blanket, and a few earth sweets being slipped into her room.

Dave, the human who had harassed her, was not invited back to the ship.

Instead he was replaced with a male creylight from the Andromeda system. While not as small as the humans, he was still flexible enough to reach most of the components without taking a piece of the engine apart, and he was much stronger. The humans wouldn’t have to drag the lifting equipment out as often.

He was also made aware of how his predecessor had been fired for his disrespectful, inappropriate, and frankly downright threatening behavior towards Melanie.

The crew was not going to tolerate such treatment towards their favorite human.

Melanie nearly burst xer ear drums with her grateful calls upon returning from shore leave and discovering what xey had done.

She had been dreading coming back to work and having to deal with Dave. And then to find out he’d been fired, and to see what ‘sweethearts’ the rest of the crew had been…

As xey crouched down to receive the strongest ‘hug’ the little human could muster, Avrex couldn’t help but marvel at the change in her attitude. While she still treated Josh a little coolly, Melanie seemed much less guarded than she had before. She made friends with Cal, and Carl, and slowly started to get to know Josh. She was more outgoing while socializing with the rest of the crew. The timidity faded, an air of preparedness that the crew hadn’t even realized was there fell away. Leaving her relaxed and free. For the first time since she’d boarded the ship, she seemed truly happy.

She felt safe.

And Avrex couldn’t help but feel both saddened and enraged at how surprised she seemed that they would go out of their way to make her feel safe and comfortable. That she was so used to relying on no one but herself. So used to being stepped on and living in fear of the male half of her species taking advantage of her.

No more.

Avrex took care of xer crew.

I Think We Made a Big Mistake

Lemme just start off by saying 2010 was a great year in animated shows. Unreal great. Like, seriously.

What

the

shit

happened

in

20

10?

To put this in perspective, about 2007-2009 wasn’t a stellar time for animated shows. The best one by far was Phineas and Ferb, and maybe … El Tigre (which had so much personality and life, but I haven’t seen since it aired so I can’t tell you how it holds up), but there wasn’t a lot of new stuff that lived up to the top contender.

Also important to remember is that in 2009, Cartoon Network briefly went insane and wanted to transition to more live-action shows or live-action/animation mixed like Out of Jimmy’s Head. None of these really held my attention, and it took airtime from the cartoons that could’ve come out.

We also could point out that Nickolodeon was well on its way to airing basically only Spongebob and Fairly Odd Parents forever amen (as much as I love those shows).

Disney Channel hosted P&F, but other than that, pickings were getting slim.

So, realizing that, you’ve gotta understand how remarkable it is that we were getting so many good shows all at once again! It was unreal!

But it didn’t stop there, not even for a year.

2011 gave us families.

2012 gave us blends of story and comedy.

2013 gave us stellar characters in interstellar adventures (also the Mickey Mouse shorts, but that might not count).

2014 gave us surprises.

2015 gave us heart.

And this year? A return to form. What with the Loud House finally breaking Nickelodeon’s streak of poor nicktoons, Voltron keeping the action cartoon alive from the Avatar team we love, and the upcoming Milo Murphy’s Law from the creators of Phineas and Ferb.

There’s also shows like Mighty Magiswords and Long Live the Royals on the way that could just as easily make this list.

So the question remains. What the hell happened in 2010?

Well, I don’t know what caused all this, but I’ll tell you what happened.

Sym-Bionic Titan happened on Cartoon Network’s Toonami. And nobody told me.

When I stumbled on it way after the fact, I thought I remembered seeing something like that advertised when I was a kid. You know, early 2000s action show. I figured it got lost in the Beyblades, Ben 10s, and Yu-gi-Oh ripoffs, and I could at least make peace with that.

But then I find out this aired just a few years ago and I’m shit-pissed. aND MY OWN BEST FRIEND APPARENTLY WATCHED IT AND NEVER?? TOLD?? ME??

how dare you I instantly forgive you.

What I’m getting at is this is a high quality show. Really high quality.

The basic premise is summed up best here:

The three main characters include Ilana, princess of the royal family; Lance, a rebellious but capable soldier; and Octus, a bio-cybernetic robot, all of whom must now blend into everyday life in Sherman, Illinois. Posing as high school students, Lance and Octus work to conceal Princess Ilana from General Modula and his hideous space mutants sent to kill the sole heir of Galaluna.

When called into battle, the Galalunans are outfitted with individual armor that provides more than ample protection. It is when the gravest of danger appears that Octus activates the sym-bionic defense program and he, Ilana, and Lance unite “Heart, Body and Mind” and come together to form the spectacular cyber-giant Sym-Bionic Titan.

If that sounds great, it absolutely is. The characters are well-devloped, the story is front and center, there’s continuity between episodes– everything we’ve come to love in some of our modern favourites. So, my point is … why the hell was this left out of the cartoon revolution?

Well … honestly, I can’t figure it out. Advertising? Not enough cross-promotion in the daytime? Weak word of mouth? It’s certainly nothing the show did wrong.

Why Watch It?

Reason 1: HOLY SHIT, IT HAS A STORY

I’m not gonna spoil much more than the summary, but despite the fact that it takes place on Earth for the most part and focuses on week to week stories, the overall story is very much in the forefront at all times– and you know how rare that is even for shows that do story well.

Reason 2: HOLY SHIT, IT HAS GREAT CHARACTERS

I’ll let you discover them for yourself, it’s too much of a treat, but I’ll just say, you might fall in love. Again.

Oh, and Voltron fans?

We found their son.

Reason 3: This Guy

So, even if you’re too young for some of these, you might’ve heard something called Samuri Jack is getting a fifth season after 10 years … and it’s going to be on Adult Swim.

Yeah, it’s gonna be badass.

The important part to all this is that this dude does awesome design, awesome shows, and if you have respect for any of these properties, you know you’re in for a good time.

Which leads me to

Reason 4: The Animationjfsfksnfksafafsj

Between the lighting and the angular designs, I just don’t know what to do with myself. Is bootiful.

Watch the first few minutes there. You see what I mean, right?

Reason 5: It Deserved Better

We’ve championed so many great shows in the past few years, but for whatever reason, we missed one. A great one at that. If you have any love for the shows I listed, I highly recommend you give it a chance. Who knows? You might just find another favourite.

Wait what? Spencer? Hold on. Did you just have a wet dream about your nerdy co-worker?

You woke up in your bed covered in sweat as you tried to calm down your flustered state as you panted heavily trying to vaguely recollect the memories of the dream you had just had. It wasn’t a bad dream, in fact, it was amazing. You squeezed your thighs together in hopes of some sort of relief, but all you could do was think about the dream, which made your state even worse.

You sat there in silence as you tried to comprehend what had just happened. You’d been working at the BAU for 4 years now and you had never thought of Spencer that way. Sure he was tall, had gorgeous chiselled cheekbones and never failed to amaze you with his intelligent brain. Oh, God. Here you were thinking inappropriately about your co-worker at 3 in the morning when you had to be in for work at 7. There was no way you were going to act normal in front of him after this strange yet intoxicating image of you and Spencer practically having sex ingrained in your brain. All you could do was try to get back to sleep and hope that the flush would be over in the morning.

Teen Wolf Preference - Fake Dating

DEREK HALE

Derek couldn’t believe you had convinced him into doing this.

“You want me to what?” he’d asked, not sure if he’d heard you correctly.

“I just need you to pretend to be my boyfriend for this event since… I kinda already told everyone that you’re my boyfriend and you were coming. There’ll be free food and alcohol and you won’t even have to talk to many people!”

This had naturally intrigued Derek but there had been something that he couldn’t help but ask you.

“Really? You picked me for your big fake boyfriend plan? You know I don’t… get along well with people around here. Why not Parrish?”

Derek could see Parrish pulling up now at the event in his police uniform. Parrish wasn’t a bad guy but Derek couldn’t help but clench his fists at the sight of him. He wasn’t one to get jealous easily but this guy just put his teeth on edge.

“Shit! Parrish! Why didn’t I think of that?” you’d said angrily, shaking your head, “well, it’s too late. Will you just please go with me, Derek? It’s just one night. We can fake break up the next day.”

Derek had then thought for a moment, making sure to avoid your eye. You had a particular pleading look that you often gave him that made it hard for him to ever say no to you. But he couldn’t resist and looked at you, and it was then that he decided that he was going to be a part of your fake dating charade and he was going to be the best fake date there ever was.

“You came!”

Derek was pulled out of his trance, turning to see you hurrying towards him with a grin on your face.

“I said I would, didn’t I?”

You shook your head, “I just wasn’t sure. Wow, you look really good, you should wear suits more often.”

“I always look good,” he offered his hand, smiling a little as you took it. Your hand was so tiny compared to his. “You don’t look too bad either.”

That was an understatement. Derek always thought you looked gorgeous but right now, he was so blown away by how beautiful you looked that he had to remind himself to breathe.

Gee, thanks. We’re running a bit behind – I’d planned to have at least 2 drinks by now.”

The event was in full swing and Derek felt like he was in high school again. First of all, the event was being held in the school’s hall as the community one was under construction and second of all, he found himself watching protectively over you as he heard several greasy men comment on how good you looked.

“I was wondering when the two of you were going to get together,” Jordan Parrish congratulated the two of you, avoiding Derek’s intimidating stare, “all (Y/N) ever talked about was ‘how hot Derek is’.”

Your eyes widened, taking a rather large sip of your drink as you elbowed Jordan ‘playfully’.

“I did not!”

All throughout the night people had approached you and Derek and gave similar comments (minus the snarky one Jordan gave), saying that they’d seen the two of you out on dates and were wondering when you were going to call it official. In all honesty, neither you or Derek had considered your outings to be dates but now that he was thinking back on it, he wondered if he should start considering them as just that.

Derek proceeded to smile as Jordan winced from the hit you gave him, “well, it was a surprise to me actually. I had always thought the two of you were going to get together.”

“Nah, (Y/N) has only ever had eyes for you!” Jordan glanced at your now nearly empty glass, “want a refill?”

“God, yes please. I’m gonna be needing something heavier at this rate.”

“Completely agree with you.” and with a wink, Jordan disappeared back through the crowd towards the bar and Derek shifted his focus back to you.

“I feel a bit stupid for being jealous of him now,” he admitted, smelling the embarrassment on you which only caused his smile to widen more. Derek honestly couldn’t remember smiling this much since he was a teenager and it turned out a lot of people at the event were being a lot kinder to him because of it.

“Yeah, well, I picked you as my fake boyfriend for a reason. It’s believable and everyone seems to already think it was happening.”

You wished Jordan would hurry up with that drink.

Derek could hear your heart racing and you glanced up at him, something seeming to occur to you as a surprised expression dawned on your face.

“Holy shit – you don’t actually like me, do you?”

He leaned closer to you, his grin seeming rather wolfish now.

“By the sounds of it,” he pointed to your heart, “you feel the same way.”

Derek was now the one taken aback as very quickly, you closed the gap between the two of you and pressed a hard kiss against his lips.

“Stupid werewolf powers.” Was all you said as a low growl came from the back of Derek’s throat, Jordan now walking up from behind you with drinks in his hand. Derek wanted to desperately kiss you just a little longer but as his eyes met briefly with yours, he knew the whole dating charade was going to become a lot more realistic and there was going to be endless amount of time to kiss you.

ISAAC LAHEY

“Sorry man. You probably won’t have a lot to contribute to the conversation considering you’ve never had a girlfriend,” Stiles teased for what felt like the millionth time as he and Isaac stood by the lockers waiting for the rest of the group to arrive.

Stiles had just asked him for advice for an upcoming date but then took it back quickly saying he probably would just ask Scott about it in the car. A low growl escaped Isaac’s lips as he tried to remind himself that Stiles just wasn’t worth it as the idiot seemed to get off on annoying him. And unfortunately, it was working and sometimes Isaac was just a bit impulsive.

“Well, not one that you know of.”

Stiles’s eyebrow quirked up and a Grinch like smile came across his face, wondering if he was hearing this right.

“A girlfriend in fourth grade doesn’t count,” he reminded and Isaac’s hands balled into fists.

“I’m not supposed to talk about it.” Because it isn’t real, Isaac thought.

Stiles nodded, “oh, yeah right, sure, sure.”

The tone in his voice was enough for Isaac to glance around and see you and Lydia walking in the opposite direction of where he was standing. You and Isaac weren’t close but you got along like a house on fire, regularly working together on pack ‘missions’ or sometimes you just studied together in the library. He’d been asked several times if he was interested in you, all those times he just shrugged as an answer but if anyone was to believe he was dating someone, you would be a good candidate.

“(Y/N),” Isaac said, “(Y/N) and I have been dating.”

Stiles looked as if he’d just discovered gold.

“(Y/N)? You want me to believe that? She’s way out of your league!” and then he was shouting, “(Y/N)! Are you and Isaac dating?”

Lydia and you stopped your walking, Lydia raising her eyebrows at you as you turned around slowly. Everyone in the hallway seemed to go quiet, interested in this little bit of gossip and you met with Isaac’s horrified eyes.

“Uh, yes?” was all you said before continuing on your way, Lydia beginning to smack you excitedly at discovering this information as Stiles turning back to Isaac.

“I can’t believe you weren’t just fucking with me. You should invite her to come bowling with all of us tomorrow night – Lydia will be there so she won’t feel so weird. I seriously can’t believe you landed a girlfriend like that, fuck.”

Isaac couldn’t believe that he’d landed a fake girlfriend like that either.

That night, Isaac found himself climbing into your bedroom and nearly scaring you half to death.

“What the shit?” you hissed, pausing the show you were watching, “first you say we’re dating and now you’re climbing through my window? Did I miss something?”

He smiled sheepishly, brushing off a few sticks that got caught in his sweater while trying to climb up through your window.

“Uh, I know normal people just text but I thought I should just ask you in person. I didn’t really think this through –,”

You cut him off, “yeah, I can see that.”

“But, fuck this is stupid. Stiles was being a dick and I kind of just said you were my girlfriend so he’d leave me alone. I didn’t think he’d actually, uh, ask you about it but do… you wanna go bowling with the group of us tomorrow?”

You’d always had a crush on Isaac. He was one of the first guys to ever really notice you and see you for more than just your looks and you wanted to throw one of your pillows at him and demand he take you out on a proper date because you genuinely liked him. But even though he freaked you out a bit by abruptly climbing through your window at that time of night, you couldn’t resist him.

“Fine. But before you leave, I already answered a bunch of our relationship questions to Lydia so you’ll have to learn them. And you’re paying for my shoes and games for bowling. Oh, and when we fake break up, it’ll be a mutual break up and it can’t be weird.”

You weren’t particularly eager to be out bowling with the group. You got along well with everyone and they were being overly nice to you ever since they found out you and Isaac were ‘dating’. A few times Stiles had said to you ‘really, Isaac?’ but other than that, no one really questioned it. The people in the group who were wolves didn’t even suspect that the two of you were faking the whole ordeal because they could hear how fast your heart rates were when you were around one another, which made everything much easier.

“Lydia said she invited you to come earlier in the week but you said no.” Isaac said, his arm wrapped around you rather lazily as you watched Scott get up for his first go. It felt rather natural for the two of you to be like this, having small touches here and there and sneaking each other little glances. It was comfortable and you had to remind yourself that this was all supposed to be a charade.

“Uh, did I forget to mention that I can’t bowl?”

“You know you’re up next, right?”

You nodded, “yeah, that’s why I’m just a bit nervous.”

Scott got a strike, grinning as he turned to the group who were all rolling their eyes at the unfairness of him having werewolf abilities which were a rather big help in the situation. You wished you had the abilities because you had no idea what you were about to do.

“C’mon,” Isaac helped you to your feet, picking up your ball for you and beginning to walk towards your lane.

“Seriously? What are you doing?”

He handed you the ball, smiling a little and back at the seats the two of you were already earning a few ‘awes’.

“I’ll help you, it’s the least I can do,” he handed you the ball and you held it in the hand you were most comfortable with as he began to help line you up correctly, “aren’t we just relationship goals?”

You laughed rather nervously and Isaac stood behind you, his back pressed against yours and you did your best to concentrate on your bowling but it was proving to be difficult.

“Just move sort of like… this,” he murmured into your ear and as he showed you the throwing movement the second time around, you released the ball and it went flying down the middle of the lane, hitting all the pins except one.

“Oh my god,” a grin came across your face as you turned around to Isaac who couldn’t quite believe it either, “oh my god!”

You flung your arms around his neck, kissing him excitedly and Isaac nearly fell backwards at the sudden action. Eagerly though, he kissed you back, enjoying the feeling and hoping that you’d do this every time you did well in the game.

“How come you don’t do that when I do well?” Scott asked Kira from their seats and she nudged him playfully.

Realising that you had to bowl once more and everyone was watching the two of you with stupid grins on their faces, you shyly pulled away and began to walk back to get another ball. Triumphantly, Isaac walked back to the group who might as well have been clapping for him and Lydia patted his arm.

“It’s about time the two of you got together. (Y/N) always talked about how much she liked you but you just ‘didn’t like her back’. I swear if you break her heart I’ll break you.” She smiled sweetly and Isaac, who had to admit was a little intimidated, smiled back as you successfully knocked down your final pin.

“Not planning on it, Lydia.”

LIAM DUNBAR

“I think I left my lacrosse jersey at your place,” you were startled by your ex-boyfriend who was now standing beside your locker, an annoyed look on his face as if it were you fault that he’d misplaced his belongings.

“You never took any of your lacrosse gear to my house.” You told him coolly, shutting your locker which you weren’t actually done looking in and attempting to walk away from him. To your annoyance, he followed.

“Well, if you see it then tell me,” he said and you rolled your eyes. The two of you had been broken up for 3 months, you were certain you would have come across it by now. “How’re you going anyway? Any new guys in your life?”

The last bit he said with an amused tone, causing you to clutch your bag just a bit tighter. You knew if you said no that he’d proceed to tell you the long list of girls that were in his life now – some of which were in his life while the two of you were dating.

“Yeah, believe it or not I actually have a boyfriend.”

You saw a group of guys up ahead being rather rowdy and spotted Liam Dunbar, the guy you were planning to find just earlier because he’d promised you his research notes from one of your classes.

“Oh, really? Do I know them?”

You knew you should’ve just made up a name of some guy that went to another school but because you just happened to be looking at Liam, you couldn’t help it.

“Liam.”

Your ex looked surprised, “Dunbar? Seriously?”

At that moment, Liam looked up, having been listening in on your conversation and he was just as confused too. You couldn’t believe you picked someone so obvious – and someone that was on the same team as your ex as well. You weren’t going to get away with this.

“Um… yeah?”

Liam sensed your embarrassment and excused himself from the group of friends he was talking to. It was well known that he hated your ex and any opportunity to annoy him was valuable.

“Hey babe!” he said cheerfully as he approached you, trying not to laugh at how red you went as he placed a kiss on your cheek, “everything alright here?”

Your ex, to your relief, stepped away, “everything’s fine, man. (Y/N), if you see the jersey let me know.”

When your ex was safely out of sight, you turned to Liam who had a smug smile on his face.

“How – why?” you stammered, not really sure how you’d just managed that.

“I hate that guy,” he said, “don’t worry, I won’t tell anyone we’re not really dating. We make a cute couple anyway, even if it’s fake.”

“What? Liam, you don’t have to do this. I was just being stupid.”

He shook his head, “he’s just told about 5 people that we’re dating. It’ll be fun! We can get back at that guy all while doing our assignments. It’s a win-win situation.”

And so the fake relationship began. To your surprise, you greatly benefited from the situation. Creepy guys stopped bothering you, if you ever needed to get warm Liam was perfectly fine with you just walking into his arms while he talked with some friends and you ended up making more friends of your own. Some of the seniors he hung around became protective of you and Lydia Martin, of all people, started casually talking to you and giving you advice whenever you needed it. You often forgot that you weren’t really dating because whenever you were around Liam, your heart raced and you got butterflies as if you were actually hanging out with someone you had feelings for. It wasn’t until you sometimes saw your ex around the school who made snide and rude comments about the two of you that you remembered what was going on.

“You’re all sweaty,” you laughed as you and Mason went onto the field after one of the lacrosse games to congratulate Liam. He had a large grin on his face, pulling off his lacrosse helmet and Mason gave him a high five.

“Usually after sports people get sweaty. Weird, isn’t it?” Mason said as you gave Liam a short congratulatory hug, “poor Devenford Prep though… I should probably go and see if Brett’s alright…”

“Yeah, I’m sure you’re really concerned about his feelings,” Liam said sarcastically as Mason ignored him, walking over to the opposite (and losing) team.

“So, how does it feel to win against your old school?”

“Quite amazing, actually,” he paused, “he’s watching again. Doesn’t he have anything better to do?”

You shrugged, knowing exactly who Liam was talking about, “maybe we should give him a show.”

You had been joking – kind of. And Liam knew that but he couldn’t resist. He dropped his helmet, cupping your face and kissing you passionately. You no longer cared about how sweaty he was as you kissed him back, a part of you relieved that you were finally getting to do this.

You pulled away slightly, smiling like an idiot and Liam began to lean in again.

“He’s not even watching anymore,” you told him and he shook his head.

“I just really like kissing you.”

And then you kissed him again.

SCOTT MCCALL

“This is just relationship…ist,” you said angrily as you and Scott sat in the library working on an assignment together. Scott raised an eyebrow, half listening as he was actually working while you were flicking through a free Beacon Hills magazine that you could always find lying around the town in random places.

“I have no idea what you’re going on about.”

You put the magazine down in front of him so he had to actually look away from what he was doing, pointing to the ad on the page.

“Couples get a 50% discount at the Canary. Couples are the ones that can actually afford to be there, single people should be the ones getting the discount.”

Scott pushed the magazine back towards you, amused by your reaction.

“What’s so good about the restaurant, anyway?” he asked and you looked at him in disbelief.

“How – how could you ask that? The food is the best food I’ve ever eaten. It makes you want to cry rainbows it’s so good.”

He snorted, “if you let me do my work I’ll be your fake boyfriend and go with you.”

“You know the way to my heart, McCall.”

You told maybe one person that you and Scott were going for the discounted food and the word got out like Chinese whispers. Soon, everyone ignored the fact you were just going to a restaurant together and were talking about how the two of you were now dating. Both of you, even with Scott’s werewolf senses, were oblivious to the rumours and were sitting at lunch together when Stiles was the first person to sit down with the both of you.

“I can’t believe you two,” he said, you having your mouth full with your lunch but raising an eyebrow at him, “you’re dating and you didn’t even tell me.”

You nearly choked on your food.

“Where’d you hear that?” Scott asked casually, not denying the claim.

“From fucking Lindsay of all people! She wanted to know how long it’d be going on – how come everyone knew before your best friend?!”

You looked at Scott and to your surprise, he shrugged.

“We were going to keep it a secret.”

That was when the rest of the group sat down at the table.

“So it’s true then?” Lydia asked, looking between you and Scott and he took your hand, giving it a small squeeze.

“Yes, we’re dating,” and then he looked at you, “and we’re going to get a discount at the Canary. I want to cry rainbows.”

You knocked at Scott’s front door on Saturday night, ready for your fake date. The two of you had found the whole fake dating thing to be rather amusing, promising each other to keep it up until after the restaurant date and then saying that you would break up afterwards because you realised you were just ‘better off as friends’.

As Scott didn’t have a car you said you’d drop by his place after he was done practicing lacrosse with Stiles and Liam that day. Usually you didn’t mind just going on the back of his motorbike to places but tonight you actually got dressed up a little bit and you couldn’t risk having helmet hair or your makeup getting smudged.

“(Y/N)!” Melissa grinned as she opened the door, “come on in. Scott got home later than expected and he’s nearly ready. God, I’m so glad he finally got the guts to ask you out. He’s always gushing about his feelings for you and how he just doesn’t know what to do about it. He adores you, really.”

“Really, mum?” Scott said, knowing he was too late in defusing the embarrassing situation as he came walking quickly down the stairs.

“I’m your mother, it’s my job to embarrass you,” Melissa teased, “I guess that’s my cue to leave the two of you alone. Have fun – be safe!”

You only managed to yell a goodbye because Scott was pushing you out of the door, eager to get out of the situation.

“Don’t,” he warned, knowing you were ready to mention what had just happened, “you look amazing, by the way.”

“It’s not often I dress up like this so you better appreciate it. So should the discounted food, which I’m highly looking forward to.”

The Canary was filled with couples of all ages and you and Scott fit right in as plates of food were being placed in front of you.

“Are we going to be able to eat this all?” you asked.

“(Y/N), I’m a guy who also happens to be a werewolf. I could finish all of this on my own.”

He had a fair point.

The two of you were complimented several times by waiters for being such a cute couple, you both accepting these compliments graciously but with bright red faces. Ever since Melissa made the comment earlier about the two of you, you couldn’t help but wonder if she was joking because you’d always thought it was just you that liked him.

“What is it?” Scott asked, noticing your wondering expression. You gave a small shrug, feeling awfully shy which you weren’t usually like around him.

“Do you really gush about having feelings for me?”

This time, he was the shy one. Scott poked at his food, his cheeks reddening which they had been on and off throughout the night.

“I wouldn’t say I gushed about it,” he finally admitted, “but I do talk about liking you a bit.”

STILES STILINSKI

Saturday night had been a blur. The last memory you had was agreeing to do shots with Stiles and the next day you woke up safely tucked in bed (thanks to Scott) just before you launched yourself to the toilet to begin your day of being hungover. You felt like shit. And even on Monday morning as you walked into school you had a faint throbbing in your head and you were drinking more water when Stiles arrived.

“I’m never drinking alcohol again,” was the first thing you said to him, noticing he looked a similar way to you.

“Tell me about it,” he agreed, “but we say that all the time.”

You leaned against his side, waiting for the others to arrive when you got your first ‘congratulations’ from someone. Neither of you were sure what the person was congratulating you on but you thanked them anyway. Then it happened again when a girl from your English class walked past, lifting her hand to high five you.

“I heard about Saturday! It’s about time you two got together!” she said excitedly before walking into school.

“Do you have any idea what’s going on?” you asked, confused as to what you just witnessed as Stiles shook his head.

“I spent yesterday in the toilet. I didn’t even turn my phone on because the brightness made me sick.”

You waited a little longer and then Stiles suddenly perked up.

“Dude, there’s Theo. I saw him at the party on Saturday with that guy – I think he’s trying to get him to join his weird ass pack,” Stiles tried to tell you quietly, hoping that Theo was listening in.

“Or he could be into guys?”

“Well, you two were certainly a sight for sore eyes,” Kira suddenly said, appearing beside the two of you and making you jump. When she noticed the confused, she elaborated. “On Saturday, I mean. I didn’t know that getting the two of you together meant getting you drunk and having you confess your love to one another but man, it worked. That was gross.”

You and Stiles nearly had a heart attack. Quickly, you stepped away from one another, sharing a confused stare just as the bell went. Kira looked between the two of you but didn’t say anything, leaving you two alone as she entered the school on her own. Rather than say anything, you and Stiles went your separate ways.

During second period, your phone buzzed in your pocket. You glanced at the message from Stiles which simply read to meet him at your spot. Your teacher was reluctant to let you leave but when you did, you nearly sprinted to the spot under the third floor corridor staircase where Stiles was waiting clearly agitated. It seems you weren’t the only one having people come up to you and congratulate you on officially dating Stiles and that many people saw your proclamation of love which neither of you can remember.

“Do you remember?” you began but Stiles suddenly pulled you to him, putting a hand over your mouth. You were confused, only to hear Theo’s voice echoing the corridor and you got the idea. You tried to listen in with him but Theo stopped talking and soon you heard footsteps coming towards where the two of you were hiding.

Stiles swiftly kissed you, causing you to freeze up. You weren’t sure whether to pull away or to kiss him back, only to understand what he was doing when Theo finally stopped in front of the two of you.

“Whoa, Theo!” Stiles pulled away, “can’t a couple just have a few moments of peace?”

Theo’s eyebrows furrowed, “so the rumours are true.”

“The rumours? Didn’t you see us at the party?” Stiles wrapped his arm around you and you smiled sheepishly. Your teacher was gonna be pissed at how late you were going to be.

“Must’ve left by then.”

“With your guy friend?” you blurted out and Stiles tried to stifle a laugh. Theo decided it was best to ignore you – which it was – and began to walk back to class that he was obviously avoiding as well.

You looked at Stiles with a questioning expression but he shook his head, “we’ll talk about this later.”

You never talked about it later but you had a silent agreement to continue the fake dating. Both of you watched one too many movies and had the idea that if you did the couple getting caught making out when you were actually searching into something you shouldn’t be then it was a win-win deal. You were just too nosy.

“We’re basically detectives,” Stiles said, the two of you hidden in a corner of a club watching a group of suspected chimeras. The two of you had been awfully touchy the past few days, both of you trying to convince yourselves it was all just a charade but it wasn’t. If you were able to convince your friends that you were dating, the people you were closest to, then it wasn’t really fake.

“Do you wanna go home and watch Star Wars?” you yelled over the music and Stiles leaned his forehead against yours.

“You are perfect for me.” He said, grabbing your and leading you out of the club. Your heart was racing and even when you got to the car, Stiles continued to hold your hand on the drive back to his place.

“For our detective work, right?” you said jokingly to him when he pulled into the driveway, Stiles walking quickly around to your side of the car to open the door for you.

Stiles leaned in and kissed you, “this has never been about the detective work.”

THEO RAEKEN

“Leave me alone,” you said for the third time to a guy that hadn’t stopped trying to chat you up during the last big lacrosse game. You looked around, trying to find someone you knew to go to for help but the crowds of people all looked the same.

“Why? You got a boyfriend?”

“Why should that matter? Leave me alone.”

You tried to remember how to throw a punch – you even considered making a scene by yelling loudly for the creep to get away from you. But your rescuer stepped out of the shadows, wrapping their arm around you and you nearly punched them in the face until you saw who it was.

“This guy bothering you, babe?” Theo Raeken said sternly and the guy put his hands in the air.

“Hey! No problem here, Raeken!”

“Really?” Theo stepped towards him, “because you better not be bothering my girlfriend.”

Despite how scared you were, your heart was filling with butterflies for all the wrong reasons. You had Theo in a few of your classes and god, you found him insanely attractive. He was always sweet towards you and now you were never going to be able to thank him enough.

“I’m not! I was just leaving, I swear!”

You’d never seen someone move so quickly.

When he disappeared into the crowd, Theo turned to you and gave you the most charming smile. You knew about his powers and was fully aware that he could probably smell your lust and nervousness.

“Don’t mention it,” he winked before disappearing as well and you couldn’t help but smile like an idiot.

The next week you were sitting in the library on your own when Theo sat down beside you again, putting his arm around you. Your heart got caught in your throat as you glanced up at him, Theo seeming very comfortable and casual with the situation.

“Didn’t you hear?” he said with an amused tone, “everyone thinks we’re actually dating. I want to make sure they continue to think that so those guys will leave you alone.”

“What guys?”

“Over there. They’ve been saying some disgusting things about you and either I beat the shit out of them or they just get too freaked out to do anything in the first place,” he paused, “you’re cute when you’re nervous.”

You ignored him, “so, what? You’re fake dating me now?”

“Do you mind? I think it’d be fun.”

Theo took your answer as a yes when you blushed and look hastily away.

The next few weeks went past in a blur. It all started out as a bit of fun and eventually you were comfortable enough with Theo to get a bit into it as well. He never did anything beyond holding your hand or wrapping his arms around you but soon you were beginning to realise you wanted more – and so did Theo. He tried to convince himself that he was just doing this as a nice gesture because he’d thought you were vulnerable but he came to realise that you were stronger than even he was. You impressed him and Theo found himself lying in bed at night wishing you were there and he got excited whenever he knew you were nearby.

It was another big lacrosse game and Theo was finishing up some personal business when he saw a guy attempting to take the seat that Theo had originally be sitting in and chat you up. He clenched his teeth, storming towards you and his heart jumped when you made eye contact and you smiled at him.

“Hey babe,” Theo said, leaning down to where you were sitting, cupping your cheek and kissing you hard on the lips. You froze up but kissed him back, the guy that had been attempting to hit on you moving far away as possible.

“Get a room!” someone yelled and Theo moved away, brushing his thumb against your cheek.

“You have no idea how long I’ve wanted to do that.”

Dean woke up around 5am on Monday morning. It had been three months since you, his 18 year old sister, had decided to take your own life. Him and Sam never got a note, you were just gone and that was all they knew. They were too late to save you and that bothered him. Every morning since that day he woke up at 5am. He realised there was no going back to sleep so he climbed out of bed and headed to the door. When he opened the door he was surprised to be greeted with a small box in front of his feet. Dean looked left and right and noticed Sam wasn’t around to have just placed the box there. He sighed, picked it up, shut his door and walked back to his bed.

As he opened up the box he was confused as he noticed that all was inside were tapes. Why would someone give him a box of tapes? Dean rummaged through the box on his shelf and found his old tape player that John had given him when he was a kid and wanted to listen to AC/DC. He put the first mysterious tape inside the player and pressed play.

“Hello,” the familiar voice that he hadn’t heard for three months spoke which almost hurt his ears to know that he could hear in tape form. He must have been mistaken… It couldn’t be!

“My name is Y/N Winchester,” your tape continued. “I’m about to tell you the story of my life. More specifically, why my life ended… And if you’re listening to this tape,” The tape paused for a moment and Dean waited in suspense. “You’re one of the reasons why.”

He pulled the headphones off his head and sat there for a moment. He couldn’t believe the voice or words he was hearing. How could this be real? How could he really be hearing it? Having to listen to the voice of his deceased sister was hard for him, but the only way to find out more was listening to the tapes… So he continued. It wasn’t a fast decision, he took a breath and thought about just throwing them away. But then he would never know the reason why. This was like your suicide note, only in the form of 13 tapes.

His shaky hands picked up the headphones and placed them carefully on his head. He pressed play on the tape player and continued to listen. “As there are to every story, there are 13 different sides to this. I’m going to tell you all of them. Each tape is based on one of the people that are the reason my life ended. So, once you’ve listened to all the tapes you need to pass these on to the next person. If you don’t, well, just know that someone is always watching every single one of you and will make sure that all the tapes are listened to by every person. Now that you understand.. Let me begin with my first tape.”

Dean closed his eyes and followed the story you were telling. “First up, we have the thing that started it all… It was a normal day for you maybe, but not me at all. I didn’t know about hunting or any of that, not until you told me. I went to find you after mom had said she saw you earlier that day, I thought maybe it would be a chance for me to meet my father for the first time. Incase you hadn’t figured it out by now, we have our first person of the story. Welcome to your tape, John.”

Dean realised that John could have been the one these tapes outside of Dean’s room. He almost forgot that both of his parents now lived in the bunker with him and Sam. John must have listened to the tapes before him. Or maybe it was Mary? Since you died they both acted weirdly around both the boys, but then again, Mary acted strangely around you anyway so maybe she had something to do with all of this. He didn’t have time to think as the tape continued to play and tell Dean the story of what happened to you.

* * *

You were a nervous wreck ever since you joined your father and his two sons. Your mom insisted on you moving in with John so that you could bond and get to know your father after all those years of wishing you knew him. You knew it wouldn’t be easy meeting him when the day came, but you never expected it to be that hard.

He told you all about hunting and all his excuses of why he left you and your mother. They were stupid and you hated listening to him explaining, you needed someone to take your anger out on and that person was John. You needed to scream and shout at him every now and then for small things just so you could release some of the pain that he made you feel for most of your life.

But that shit didn’t fly with John, you either did as he said or you were gone. “It’s my way or the highway,” you recalled him saying to you a few times after your arguments. Sam and Dean didn’t live with John really, it was more like John lived with them, along with Mary Winchester. They owned this thing called the Men Of Letters Bunker. The place was huge, so many bedrooms you couldn’t count, you could have sworn you found a new room there everyday.

Before John moved in here, him and his wife (who was also the two boy’s mother) had come back to life after so many years. They didn’t fit into the word exactly so they relied on hunting as what kept them grounded. Sam, Dean, John, Mary and you. That’s how it was. Of course, being the youngest meant that you had to follow everyone’s rules and it was for your own ‘safety.’

* * *

“For my own safety? That was complete bullshit,” you spoke smoothly through Dean’s headphones. “You just wanted someone to boss around, dad. You couldn’t control Sam and Dean anymore, so you made sure that you could completely control me. Before that I didn’t have anyone controlling me, I could do what I wanted and act however I thought was right for me. You took that from me… That’s where it all started going down hill, it’s where I started to break.”

Dean once again paused the tape. He checked his nightstand and saw that it was now 6am. How had time moved so quickly? How long had it taken him to listen to this short part of the tape? He knew he had taken it out at the beginning because it was too hard to listen to, but he never knew he was stalling for so long.

A break from this right now seemed appropriate. So, he took the headset off, left it on his bed and headed to the kitchen to get something to eat. Every step he took felt heavier than the last. This wasn’t something new, it had been happening ever since you took your life, but now it was hitting him harder. It made every movement more painful than they had been before; he didn’t even know that was possible until now.

Once he reached the kitchen, he was pleasantly surprised to see that Mary, John and Sam were already there and eating breakfast. Sam was still at the stove, finishing up cooking some eggs and the rest of the bacon while John and Mary sat opposite each other and ate what they already had. “Dean,” John said by surprise. “You’re up later than usual.”

“It’s 6am,” Dean replied with a gravelly voice that he always had when he was tired. Lately, it seemed to be the only voice he had.

“You’re usually up at around 5,” John noted. Sam came and sat down next to Mary at the table and placed a plate down for himself and for Dean.

“You hungry?” Sam asked and Dean joined them at the table. “How you holding up?”

“I feel… Different to what I have for the last few months,” Dean replied to his little brother. “You know, I actually woke up at 5am again today. I stayed in my room because I found something left outside my door.”

All of their eyes widened as Dean spoke. They looked at each other before John spoke. “So she finally finished listening to them.”

“What? Who?” Dean questioned as he squeezed his fork tightly in his hand.

“We can’t talk about this,” Mary recalled before picking up a piece of bacon from her plate and eating it.

“You can’t do that to me! Who are you talking about?!” Dean demanded as he threw his fork down.

“The last person that had the tapes,” John told him which earned a glance from Mary and Sam.

“The tapes… You’ve all listened to them?” Dean looked around at them all. They were faces of the people he knew, they were his family. But they all felt so unfamiliar, like strangers with secrets.

“We can’t talk about it, you need to listen to the tapes,” Sam finished before taking his plate over to the trash can and throwing his food away.

“Are any of you on there? Who is the ‘she’ that you’re talking about? Is it someone else on the tapes?” Dean asked quickly, not giving them time to answer any of them as he continued. “Are you all on the tapes?”

“Dean, we can’t,” Mary snapped. “You have to just listen to the tapes, everyone on there had to.”

He stood up and made his way to the exit of the kitchen but stopped in his tracks.

“It’s hard to listen to,” Dean admitted with a sad voice. He stood in the door way as he spoke to them. “It’s the voice of my dead sister.”

“Dean!” John hissed. He looked at his son standing in there, he looked so heartbroken and vulnerable. “Please son, just listen to the tapes.”

Dean glared at them all. If looks could kill, they would all be dead in a second. He stormed off and went back to his room, it turned out he didn’t get any food or a drink to soothe his feelings of anxiety right now. He returned in the same state he was in before. Dean placed the headset back on his ears and continued to listen to John’s tape.

“But that wasn’t all, was it dad?” You questioned rhetorically. “No, you did more than just boss me around. When you realised you couldn’t do it anymore, you did the only thing that you thought you could do to end the lack of control…”

* * *

It was a few months after you had moved into the bunker and began your training to become a hunter. It wasn’t the physical side of it all because you already knew how to fight after your countless years of being bullied at school. That’s why the boys and your dad were so okay with you going hunting with them; they knew you could take care of yourself.

It was the research of it all. You weren’t used to connecting the dots with how certain monsters acted or what they did with how the victims had died. You gradually became better at it, but you weren’t as good as your brothers because they grew up doing it. You knew that. You understood that.

John didn’t seem to though. All he did was compared you to Sam and Dean and demanded that you become a smarter person. That wasn’t something you could just do, you can’t just snap your fingers one day and get what you want. You have to work for shit like that, it takes time and patience… But those were two things that John lacked.

It was that one day in the motel you were all staying in. The report in the paper said that the bystanders smelled sulphur after the woman was attacked. That was easy enough to figure out, right? Wrong. You weren’t trained enough in the mythology of monsters and you had no idea that sulphur was a sign of demons. You read past it and said there was nothing in there that could have been your kind of thing.

John insisted that you had missed something, just like he always did. You hated when you had to look for cases in the paper. Either you would misjudge it and say you had found a case or you would read past it too quickly and not realise that there was your kind of thing going on. No. You never got it right, so John always checked.

He held the paper in his hand as he sat opposite you at the small table in the motel. You watched nervously as his eyes scanned over the front page and read about the current murder spree going around. “Jesus Christ,” he groaned as he slammed the paper down on the table. “You’re kidding me right, Y/N? You don’t see a case here?”

“Uh, no, sir,” you replied shakily. Sam and Dean noticed your worry from where they were sitting on the beds. Mary was currently out on a supply run.

“It says here the by passers could smell sulphur,” John stated as he looked over at his sons.

“So what are we thinking, a demon?” Dean asked while he continued to clean his gun.

John clicked his tongue and Dean’s answer as if it was obvious. “Exactly… A demon.”

“A demon?” You questioned as you looked between all of them.

“The smell of sulphur is an instant alert for a demon,” Sam told you with a smile. He didn’t mind teaching you, he actually enjoyed it. He liked passing on his knowledge with you and helping you become a better hunter. He had patience… John didn’t.

“Yeah,” John snapped. “Every hunter should know that.”

You hated when he got like this because you instantly knew it was a dig at you and you were tired of it. The boys saw nothing of it because they didn’t pay enough attention. That’s why they thought you were in the wrong when you snapped back.

“Well, I’m still new at this so you can’t expect me to know everything,” you hissed which got John’s back up. You were glad it pissed him off, it was time that he took you seriously.

“You do not speak to your father like that!” He shouted as he stood from his chair and pushed it back aggressively.

You stood up too so you could regain dominance in the conversation. “What kind of father are you? I barely even know you!”

“This isn’t about me,” he replied with a steady tone.

“Yes it is!” You screamed. “This is about you… This is about what you didn’t do. You weren’t there because you were too busy hunting with your other family. And yes, I know that you died when I was a kid, but even when you came back to life you didn’t bother looking for me.”

“I thought we were past this,” he growled with flared nostrils.

“We are. We are past this,” you lied. You weren’t over it, but you had to pretend you were for the sake of everyone else. “I’m not reminding you about it because I’m hurt, I’m reminding you because you need to understand my point of view. I’m not good at researching cases with you because I was never here for it. And you’re not good at being a father to me because you were never there.”

When you finished your statement it was as if the world stopped for a minute. You came to terms with what you had said and realised that you meant it; John wasn’t as accepting towards the statement as you were. The boys both gasped as they saw John’s hand being drawn back.

Before you could react to his movement, John’s hand made harsh contact with your cheek. It was enough force that if pushed you to the floor. You breathed heavily as you stood up; you were holding your hand against your cheek in disbelief.

“You asshole!” You growled as your stood on your feet. “You fucking asshole!”

“What the hell is going on?” Mary demanded as she walked through the door. “Y/N? What happened to your face?”

“It was dad! He slapped me!” You screamed. “You’re a dick, how could you?!”

“Dad, you crossed the line,” Sam said. “You don’t hit your kids.”

“Things just got out of hand,” Dean insisted. “They should never have gone this far, you need to talk about this and sort it out because this shit has been going on for too long. All you do is argue with each other over the smallest things.”

“Dean! He hit her!” Sam defended as he stood up in annoyance.

“We’ve all hit each other! Hell, we’ve tried to kill each other before,” Dean recalled. You couldn’t believe Dean would actually try and defend his father, you thought he had changed.

“Why are you defending him?!” You fumed.

“I’m not,” Dean said calmly. He put his arms up in defence as he continued to talk. “All I’m saying is we have all done terrible things to each other, our family is messed up. This is something that’s needs to be dealt with and then we move on.”

You scoffed at his words. John looked down at you the same way he always did, his eyes full of hatred and boiling with anger. “There’s nothing to talk about. I want you gone, Y/N.”

“But-”

“No!” John spat. “I want you gone, get the fuck out of here. Go back to living with your mom, the hunting life isn’t for everyone and you’re most definitely not meant to be a hunter.”

You couldn’t believe the words that were leaving his mouth. You looked at your brothers and saw that even they didn’t know what to say. You grabbed your things, threw them into a backpack and walked out like you weren’t even bothered. But of course you were. You were so desperate for one of them to follow you and beg you to come back… But no one ever did.

* * *

“You hit me in the face. It hurt. But not as much as it hurt when you hit me with rejection and hatred. You wanted me gone… I hated you, John, more than I had ever hated anyone. You felt the same way about me and I wasn’t going to stick around for that so I headed back to my moms.”

Dean once again removed the headphones and paused the tape. There wasn’t long left of this tape but it was so hard for him to listen to. He checked his clock on his nightstand once again and saw that it was now 1:35pm. Food. He needed food.

Another walk to the kitchen with pain in his steps led to a nervous feeling in his stomach. What John had done to you was so bad, what if Dean’s was worse? What if he had hurt you but had no idea that it had affected you so badly? Dean was pulled out of his thoughts when he saw his father sitting alone at the kitchen table and drinking a beer.

“Hey, son,” he said with a soft voice. “You doing ok?”

“I’m great,” Dean snapped. “I won’t talk to you and piss you off though, I don’t wanna get a beating.”

John sighed and rubbed his palm over his face. “You listened to my tape.”

“I haven’t finished it yet,” Dean shook his head. “It’s still hard to listen to.”

John didn’t reply to what Dean said, he just took another swig of his beer and stared at the wall. Dean went to the fridge and pulled out some left over bacon that was cooked that morning. He put the plate in front of him and his father at the table as he came and sat opposite him. “Stop staring at the wall and look at me,” Dean demanded. John looked at the disappointment in his sons eyes. “Feeling sorry for yourself won’t bring her back.”

Now he saw something in John that he had never let him see before. It was weakness. “I remember that day,” Dean continued. “I remember that I defended you when you hurt her because I was scared that what you did would make her leave. I was selfish and I wanted her to stay so I tried to justify what happened.”

“Son-”

“I’m not finished,” Dean snapped. “What you did drove her away from our family… The only reason she came back was because she had nowhere else to go after she went home and found her moms dead body. If you didn’t send her away she would never had seen that.”

“You don’t think I know that!” John shouted which caught Dean by surprise. He sighed as he realised his anger had once again got the better of him. “Dean-” his voice was steady and low, “-the reason I did that to her was to protect her.”

“You hit her to protect her?” Dean demanded.

“I pushed her away to protect her,” John said as tears began to form in his eyes. “Before I slapped her I kept snapping at her and being nasty to her because I wanted her to leave so she could be safe. I knew that if I told her that she wouldn’t leave, and no matter how many times I shouted at her or was a complete dick to her she would just get upset… But she would stay. I had to do something that would finally make her leave; I had to make her think that I hated her so that she would hate me. If she stayed with us she would have continued to hunt and I wanted better for her.”

John wiped his tears away before drinking more of his beer. It was as if he thought the alcohol would soothe the sting, but it only made it worse. “I loved my baby,” he cried. “She was my only daughter and she made me proud every day. I’ll never get a chance to tell her that.”

Dean shook his head. He understood why John did what he did and he sympathised with him, but it didn’t matter. That wouldn’t bring you back. It wouldn’t fix anything. “She’s dead because you were too scared to love her.”

Dean didn’t plan on saying it, it was just a thought that popped into his head but he needed to get it out. Secrets were one of the reasons you ended your life, he didn’t want to keep them anymore.

John had no idea how to respond to Dean. How could someone reply to that? He was one of the causes of his daughters death because he was a coward. Dean didn’t even know what to think anymore. He needed to know more. He had one more bite of the bacon before he put the plate back in the fridge and headed back to his room.

They were still there when he got back. He didn’t know what he was expecting, but he was hoping that the tapes weren’t real and that you were still there in the bunker. When you moved in you told him that you wanted your room next to his so you could knock on the wall if you wanted to talk to each other.

He picked the tape player up, it felt colder than when he last held it. A chill shot down his spine as he thought about the tapes again and how they were all you left behind. Your voice played again in his ears.

“After you kicked me out, dad, I went back for my mom. I ran in to my house, crying my eyes out because of what you did. I wanted comfort from my mom,” you explained. “She was all I needed right at that moment because in my whole life she was all I ever had. But I never got to speak to her… I went into her room and found her covered in blood. She didn’t move… Or breathe… She did nothing.”

Your voice broke as you spoke about your mothers death and Dean closed his eyes at the thought. “And this, ladies and gentlemen, brings me to my second tape. And you know who you are when I say that on my next tape, we’re going to talk about the person that murdered my mother.”

prompt: andreil + emergency room visit

(this is a sequel to THIS ‘I think there’s someone in the house’ fic!)

The paramedics hammer on the door, and Neil looks up, teary-eyed, from where his face is pressed into Andrew’s damp hair. He’s feeling for his breath with the back of his hand, waiting moment to moment for Andrew to die in his arms, silently like he does everything else. Urgency keeps stunning Neil all over again, hysterical defibrillators. The EMT’s are calling out through the wall, muffled but calm.

It feels unthinkably wrong, their absolute evenness and ease outside his door when his life is an exposed neck and Andrew’s death is the whirring blade of a saw.

He realizes that he has to get up to let them in, and it seems as impossible as it would be for Andrew to spring up and answer the door himself. He feverishly wants them to crumple the door to splinters and be inside already.

It’s a herculean effort to ease Andrew to the ground, like he’s gritting his teeth and cutting off his own leg. He touches Andrew’s clammy face briefly but he can’t bring himself to try and slap him awake. He props Andrew’s bare feet up on the rim of the bath so the blood will flood towards his head, at least.

He feels untethered to his body when he stands, a helium balloon with its usual weight passed out on the bathroom floor. He falls into the wall immediately, adrenaline neck and neck with exhaustion.

He finds his way to the front door without his mind’s help. His head is in the bathroom with Andrew, and he knows that no matter what happens it’ll be there for a long, long time.

The next time he blinks, a man in uniform is holding his biceps and peering down at him seriously.

“—sir? Sir, are you hurt at all?”

“No,” Neil says, lips numb. “Bathroom. He’s in the bathroom. He’s bleeding to death.”

He turns, easily slipping the paramedic’s grip. There’s a procession of them, hefting a gurney and a couple of kits, and they’ve brought all the cold from outside in on their heels. They’re such a foreign object in their warm, messy apartment — uniformed, official, and precise.

It’s deadly, walking in and seeing Andrew spread out in his boxers, blood oozing through his t-shirt from his loose stitches, pale enough to match the porcelain. Neil’s seen enough corpses to recognize what they look like.

He falls heavily to his knees and puts his head directly to his chest, listening, tears slipping hotly over the bridge of his nose.

“Please,” he slurs. His heartbeat is a tentative thud, a knock from an unexpected guest. “Help him. Now, help him now.”

“We’re going to try our best Sir, but you’ve got to get out of the way,” someone says gently.

He topples backwards onto his hands. It’s a cramped space, and he knows it would be easier if he waited outside, but he also knows he’d rather die than leave them alone with him.

The first guy kneels down and takes Andrew’s pulse, and Neil shakes his head. They’re too slow, time is feeding directly into a wide open drain.

“He needs an IV. He’s two litres down, at least. You’ve got to—“ A petite woman puts a hand on his shoulder and he shrugs her off violently. “No! You have to listen to me.”

“We know what we’re doing,” she says. “Are you an MD?” She eyes him doubtfully, gaze flitting from his scars to where her colleagues are taking vitals and cutting through Andrew’s clothes.

“Yes,” Neil says wildly. “And he needs an IV. Possibly two. Large-bore, normal saline. He’s not getting any oxygen, and he’s been like this for as long as it took you to gather your meager response team.”

She purses her lips, but she’s a professional. He can see her repressing her anger and it infuriates him. He feels like he’s crashing, over and over again, and he’s watching someone daintily pump the breaks.

“He’s right,” one of the EMT’s says distractedly. “We’re gonna need to get some fluids started, he’s in hypovolemic shock, sats below 50.”

“You want to tell me what happened?” one of the men asks.

“No,” Neil says as evenly as he can manage, reaching out to graze Andrew’s cold fingers.

“Did you do these stitches?” the woman asks, pulling at Andrew’s skin to get a better look at them. He suddenly sees how they must look to them, sloppy and angry red. Neil bends her arm away without thinking about it.

“Don’t touch him,” he snaps. He could break her arm and it would make him feel better. He drops her, disoriented by his own violence.

“There’s no need to be antagonistic,” the first man says. “We don’t want to have to remove you.”

“You really don’t,” Neil agrees. “You won’t succeed.”

hi there :-) i love your writing sm so i was wondering if you could write a tom holland imagine based off of the song “give me love” by ed sheeran where the reader breaks up with tom bc of his hectic acting schedule but they both aren’t taking the breakup very well (however THERES A HAPPY ENDING?? HOPEFULLY???) but that’s just an idea; it’s totally up to you to put your own spin on it or go in a different direction !! thank you SOSO much🤗💛

Pairing: Tom Holland x Reader

Description: Tom had been traveling a lot lately, so much to the point you rarely saw him at all, sure you’d call and text occasionally, but that wasn’t enough, you supported his acting career 100%, but you couldn’t take it anymore.

Warnings: Kinda sad, slight mention of alcohol, but then happiness :)

Word Count: 2,661

A/N: This actually turned out a lot better than I thought it was going to tbh, so I hope you enjoy it :)) Also, this gif has nothing to do with the imagine, I just thought it was a cute gif of Tom, oops.

It had been two months since you last seen Tom, he was off filming for Spider-Man Homecoming, which you totally understood, it took dedication and time, but so did your relationship with him.

Normally when he went off and filmed movies you two were okay, you didn’t normally have issues and you’d still see him and talk almost everyday, but this time it was different.

Tom just disappeared, you’d get an occasional text here and there, sometimes a phone call, but that was it.

You were left in the dark, just like a fan was.

It’s not that you didn’t love his fans, you did with all your heart, they were half the reason you were still sane, since they seemed to have more knowledge about Tom than you did yourself, and you were the one dating him.

You spent those long two months trying to decide on what to do, on what you thought was right and necessary, or more so healthy.

You knew deep down this relationship with Tom was fading, it was becoming stressful and making you more and more upset as the days went by.

‘Cause lately I’ve been waking up alone,

Pain splattered teardrops on my shirt.

Every morning you’d wake up, in hope of a good morning text, literally anything to show that maybe, just maybe he remembered you, but there was never anything.

This crushed your heart, everyday.

Until one day you had enough, you didn’t want to do this, but it was for the best, it was the right decision, it was the smart decision, this relationship wasn’t healthy for you anymore.

You started packing your belongings from Tom’s apartment, tears streaming down your face as you packed up boxes of your belongings.

You dreaded leaving his clothes behind that you always wore, but you knew if you took them you’d never let him go, and you needed to, it was for the best you would tell yourself.

You took one last look around his apartment, the one you had been living in for the past year, all the memories you two had created there were slowly being erased.

You let out a choked sob as you picked up the few boxes you had, before closing and locking the apartment door, and off to your new tiny little apartment your parents had gotten you a while back.

It was a few hours away from Tom’s which was good in a small sense, but at the same time your mind was moving at warp speed, unable to process you were moving back into your old apartment.

You arrived at nightfall, pulling your belongings out of your car before entering your tiny living space, you always had the feeling of comfort and safety in your apartment.

Maybe tonight I’ll call ya,

Maybe I should let you go.

You set your boxes on the counter of your kitchen, pulling out your phone, shakily dialing in Tom’s number.

You pressed the phone to your ear hesitantly, hearing it ring a few times before someone picked up.

“Hello?” A voice rung through your apartment, making your knees go weak.

“Hey Tom..” You murmured into the phone, biting your lip nervously, a bad habit you had gotten.

“Oh, hey Y/N! What’s up?” He questioned casually, as if he had no clue in the world how distant he had been with you these past few months.

“I-I uhm..” You stuttered, your heart beating rapidly, as you nervously swallowed, which Tom could hear through the phone.

“Y/N, what’s wrong? Are you okay?” Tom questioned worriedly, making you blink back tears that were daring to fall down your cheeks.

“No.. Tom.. Things aren’t okay.. They haven’t been for a while..” You spoke, voice barely above a whisper, but Tom heard you clear as day, his heart starting to beat quicker.

“Y-Y/N, you’re starting to scare me, what’s going on?” He stammered, he was now sitting down at a table on set.

“Tom..” You started, wiping your hand across your cheeks, tears continuing to fall down them.

“Do you realize how long it’s been since we’ve talked?” You asked, sitting down on a stool in your kitchen, waiting for his answer.

Tom sat there for a minute, puzzled at your question, until he started to realize how he’d been acting, as if you didn’t even exist.

“Y/N, o-oh my god, I’m s-so sorry.” Tom apologized, his eyes wide as he started to put pieces together.

“Tom, just stop, please?” You whimpered out, pinching the bridge of your nose.

“Y/N, p-please don’t do this..” Tom whispered, his voice cracking, he couldn’t bare lose you.

“Tom, this isn’t healthy, I can’t keep living like this..” You whispered, sniffling, your heart hurting the more you spoke.

“I can change, I can fix things, I-I promise..” Tom pleaded, tears starting to brim his eyes.

“Listen, I love you, but.. I-I can’t do this anymore.. I think.. W-We should b-break u-up..” You stuttered, your heart breaking into a million pieces as you spoke the most awful words.

“N-No, Y/N, p-please! N-No! I-I can’t l-lose you.” Tom cried out, tears now falling down his cheeks, but he didn’t even care anymore if anyone saw him.

“I-I’m so sorry..” You whispered, choking back sobs, as you heard Tom letting out his own.

“Y/N, d-don’t do this, p-please..” He continued to plead, only making it worse for the both of you.

“It’s for the best, I love you, goodbye Tom.” You whispered, hanging up before you could hear anymore of his plea’s.

You slowly slid down the stool, leaning back against your counter, letting out strangled sobs, your heart broken into small tiny fragments.

Tom on the other hand was staring at his phone, unable to process what had just happened.

His hands were shaking, tears were streaming down his red cheeks, his hair was a mess from running and tugging on it too many times.

“Hey Tom, we’re ready to shoot the next scene and, -oh, good lord what happened? Are you okay?” The producer asked, seeing Tom’s state wasn’t exactly stable at the current moment.

Tom just stared ahead of him, unable to produce words, all he could think about was you, and how he had let you down, made you feel like you were forgotten, not important to him, when you actually meant the entire world to him.

You were the reason he woke up every morning, the reason he was happy all the time, the reason he was as successful as he was, you were his light, but now you were gone, and now everything was dark.

“Tom, hey man, what’s going on?“ Jacob rushed over, after the producer told him how worried they were about his mental state.

"Buddy, it’s me, talk to me.” Jacob pleaded, looking over Tom and internally cringing at how much of a disaster he looked.

“Y-Y/n, she b-broke up with m-me.” Tom stammered out, looking up at his friend, who had a look of shock on his face.

“Dude, I’m so sorry. What happened?” Jacob asked carefully, not wanting Tom to have a emotional breakdown even worse.

“I became distant, without even realizing it, and it broke her.” Tom wiped his face, looking at the table sadly.

“You can win her back buddy, I know it.” Jacob tried to convince him, anything to make him lighten up just the tiniest bit.

“I really blew it Jacob, you should of heard her, she sounded so broken, and a-alone and it’s all m-my fault! I made the only person I loved leave me all because I was too much of an idiot.” Tom spoke furiously, hitting the table, startling Jacob.

“Alright, you know what lets just take a break today, you can chill and do what you need to, and we can figure this all out.” Jacob suggested, as Tom nodded slightly, before Jacob went to the producer, who agreed it was a good idea.

Two days passed and you were a total mess, you refused to leave your apartment, your friends tried calling and texting you, but you just ignored them, wanting to be alone.

You just laid in your bed, the curtains closed, a candle lit on your kitchen counter, making your apartment smell like crisp fall air.

‘Cause lately I’ve been craving more,

And it’s been a while, but I still feel the same,

After my blood turns into alcohol,

All I want is the taste that your lips allow.

Without Tom you didn’t know what to do with your life, he was such a huge part of you and now he was missing, a chunk of you was missing and you were lost.

You tried drinking, to numb the pain, but nothing worked, it just made you even more miserable than before.

You needed him.

And he needed you.

The producer had allowed Tom and Jacob to return back home for a few days to figure things out, once he got to his apartment he had expected you to still be there, but once he entered he noticed that none of your belongings were there anymore, and the shirts you once wore were folded on his bed.

In that moment he felt his heart drop, you really had left.

“Dude, where could she be?” Jacob questioned, as they set their belongings in his apartment.

“She returned back to her old one, she used to live there until she moved in with me.” Tom replied, grabbing his keys as they both headed out the door again.

They drove the few hours to your apartment, Tom was a nervous wreck, he wasn’t sure how you’d react to seeing him after all this time.

“Okay buddy, you got this, I’ll wait in the car.” Jacob gave a small smile, along with a thumbs up as Tom got out and walked up to your apartment door, hesitantly knocking.

When you didn’t answer he got nervous, but he saw your car parked in the driveway so he knew you were home.

This made him worry, he quickly fidgeted to find the spare key you had given him, he swiftly unlocked the door, noticing the darkness of the apartment, and the intense smell of alcohol and a fall scented candle.

“Y/N? Y/N where are you?” Tom shouted, before seeing you laying in your bed, staring blankly into space.

“Shit, Y/N.” Tom rushed over, pulling you into his arms tightly, kissing your head.

“T-Tom?” You mumbled out, blinking rapidly before realizing he wasn’t a figment of your imagination, that you weren’t actually hallucinating him.

“Yes, it’s me.” He whispered, now holding your face in his hands gently.

“It’s really you.” You whispered, tears slipping down your face, you couldn’t believe he came to see you.

“It’s really me babe, I’m so so sorry, for everything.” Tom whispered, caressing your cheek gently with his thumb.

“I missed you.” You whimpered, moving your face more into his hand, while placing your hands on his.

“I missed you too darling, I promise that’ll never happen again.” He kissed your forehead, causing you to close your eyes.

“Please, give me another chance.” He pleaded, making you lock eyes with him, before a small smile appeared on your lips as you gave a slight nod.

Tom’s eyes lit up, his heart racing before his lips met yours, the kiss passionate and full of pent up emotions.

“I love you so much, even when you’re an asshole sometimes.” You laughed slightly, your forehead pressed against his.

“I love you too darling, and I know I can be, but that’s why I have someone like you to keep me in place.” He chuckled, kissing your nose before wrapping his arms around you once again.

You both laid there for a bit, catching up, laughing, smiling, kissing, more talking, more kissing.

You knew you always loved this apartment of yours, because no matter what you always felt safe, and now you realized one of those reasons was because of Tom, he made you feel safe, he made you feel at home, because he was your home.

And always would be, no matter what.

You smiled at Tom who was watching you in amusement, before his phone started ringing.

“Hello?” Tom answered, before a smile formed on his face and laughter escaped his lips.

“Yes Jacob, you can come up now.” Tom laughed, making your eyes widen and laugh along with him.

“You didn’t tell me Jacob was here! Jacob I’m coming!” You shouted, sprinting off the bed and running down the hallway.

“But babe, what about me!” Tom shouted after you, a playful grin on his face as he watched you sprint down the hallway.

“Are you kidding? Jacob all the way!” You teased, a playful smile on your face as you tackled Jacob in a hug, making him loose his balance.

“Nooooo! My smoothie!”

The Transfer (m)

Word count: 9.4k

Genre/Warnings: language, angst, smut, dirty talk

Pairing: Hoseok x Reader

Summary: You’re a sophomore in college who always runs away from relationships. That is until you meets Jung Hoseok, the South Korean transfer who shows you what a relationship can be. Although you know it’s wrong since he’s your best friends Jimin’s new roommate.

(Again this is my old story from my Wattpad (5sos version on there) but I wanted a Hoseok story and to finish this one.) Plus I was listening to Selena Gomez’s song, Bad Liar and yeah.

Parts: two

“Kook?” you yelled threw the apartment. You waited until he answered, “Yes Puddin’?” He yelled back.

“Do you need me to wash any clothes for you? I have a little more room in the washer!”

“Yes, one second!” You heard him shuffle in his room grabbing his hamper. He walked through the den and kitchen to the laundry room. “Thank you, Puddin’.”

“You know Jimin called me Puddin’ the other day,” you said taking his clothes out and sticking them into the washing machine.

“That’s my nickname for you!” He pouted, leaning against the door frame.

It was true, ever since sixth grade. You never wanted anyone to call you by your name for some reason. You thought it might have been some teen rebellion thing. So when you came to school one day with a Harley Quinn shirt on Jungkook took that as the chance to call you puddin’ and it just stuck. You two had been best friends since and now you were in college together. It was your sophomore year at the University and you loved it. Your parents had also found the two of you an apartment close to the school, so you could “stick together,” as your parents called it. They always thought you two would end up together but you two were too close for that. You loved Jungkook but you could never be in love with him.

Harry Styles’ solo album might be the most anticipated debut this side of the millennium. Following years as the bullseye in the global behemoth that was One Direction, the singer is taking center stage with a self-titled effort that’s a classic cocktail of psychedelia, Britpop, and balladry. If it was a color, it would be the baby blue of Jimi Hendrix’s Fender Stratocaster or the soft pink of Mick Jagger’s suit when he performed on “Top Of The Pops” in 1971. It’s rock and it’s roll, but it’s also soft and sensitive. Produced by Jeff Bhasker (Kanye West, Fun.) it’s a record that could force the position of mainstream radio by ushering in a reprise of proper music — ensembles, verse-chorus-verse, rich instrumentation, or, basically, Adele’s bag of tricks.

Despite the red herring of lead single ‘Sign Of The Times’ (it clocks in at just under six minutes in length), the album is a short shrift 40 minutes and contains ten songs that are largely about women. Unlike Robbie Williams and Justin Timberlake before him, there’s a deepened millennial sensibility to being a leading man. Harry is a sensitive soul; A post-Drake phenomenon; A serious pop performer with enviable vocal chops and a gifted ability to convey a song’s emotional heft. He oozes class, ease and a sense of import without thrusting forth from the hips, or wreaking of a self-satisfied sense of boyband emancipation. Both respectful of his past and nervous for his future, “Harry Styles,” the album, looks both ways. - Variety

What Did You Just Call Me? (Bucky X Reader)

PAIRING: Bucky Barnes X Reader
Warnings: Cursing, Violence & PDA
WORD COUNT: 2,712
SUMMARY: The Avengers come back from a quick mission that ended well for everyone but Y/N. During the whole mission, Bucky babies Y/N since she’s new to the team. When they come back to headquarters she picks a fight with him leading to an actual fight.

“I can’t believe you.”

“What I do now, Dollface?”

“Don’t doll face me!” Y/N storms out of the elevator with the rest of the Avengers following behind her, “You practically told me to wait in the car like I’m some five-year-old!”

“Well, if you didn’t act like a child then I wouldn’t treat you like one.”

Y/N’s eyes go wide by Bucky Barnes’s statement, somehow he’s able to make her even more pissed than she already is. The two heroes walk side by side further into the Avenger’s headquarter as they bark at one another. People around them notice steam coming out of Y/N’s ears and Bucky’s deadly gaze with the rest of the Avenger gang following behind them awkwardly quiet. Just that display makes everyone near the group go the opposite way. Y/N stops walking and points at her friend with a metal arm while growling in disbelief.

“Excuse me?! Bucky, you’re not my Dad-”

“Woah, save the kinky talk for the bed.”

Tony Starks blurts out making the two fighting look at him like they’re about to attack. James Rhodes sends his best friend a knowing look before shrugging and continuing to walk beside him. Natasha Romanoff and Clint Barton are walking behind Tony and James with bored expressions as if they been through this argument with each other before. Wanda Maximoff and Vision walk beside the assassins like they wanted nothing but leave the scene in front of them. Sam Wilson then sends Steve Rogers a glance silently telling him that maybe they should intervene but Steve just watches them like this is a casual conversation. Bruce Banner, Thor Odinson, and Peter Parker are the last ones to leave the elevator. All three look innocently confused on what is going on here. The whole team is decked out in their now dirty suits and used weapons. Sending Tony an irritated glance Y/N snaps with venom.

“Tony. For the last time, we’re just friends!”

“Could have fooled me.” He mumbles to himself making Y/N face go red causing him to raise his hands up in defeat and adding, “Sorry, my bad.”

“Sure you are.”

Y/N rolls her eye knowing he’ll make another joke about them in a minute. He’s been making comments like that ever since she joined the Avengers and grew a friendship with Bucky. She knows the group secretly thinks something is going on between the two them. That’s more because Bucky doesn’t make friends, Steve was the only person who qualified as a friend to Bucky before Y/N got into the picture. When Y/N joined she hit it off with everyone, more with the Winter Soldier than with anyone else though. It was a problem in the beginning since the group treated her like they had to keep her safe at all times but after a few weeks, everyone realized she didn’t need protection. Well, everyone realized that besides Bucky. Which is why they are at each other’s throats right now because during the whole mission the team was on only moments ago Bucky had treated her like another civilian. Chucking her gun carelessly on a couch near by Y/N shouts at Bucky without looking at him.

“I’m going to say this one last time, Bucky Barnes. I don’t need a fucking babysitter.”

“Why are you mad at me?” He looks around the building confused before saying with some serious guts, “It’s not my fault you’re fragile.”

“Oh shit.”

“God… Bucky… No.”

“Are you trying to get your ass kicked?”

“What did you just call me?”

Y/N shouts before flipping over a table and turning to face him with an unreadable expression, she’s never looked more deadly than right now. To be honest, no one besides Bucky really knows Y/N, she’s only been an Avenger for a few months now and she spends most her time with him. Nevertheless, it’s no secret that Y/N gets mad a lot, a least once a day she’s pissed about something. Yesterday it was because of her coffee split, today it’s because Bucky called her fragile but this was a different kind of mad that none of them have ever seen. It was close to when Bruce gets scary kind of mad and turns into Hulk. So out of a force of habit, the whole team stills and watches them with their weapons at the ready. The whole room is now empty of normal people, good thing too because at this moment Bucky and Y/N are wild cards.

“You’re calling ME fragile?!” Y/N snap as she shoves Bucky before pointing at Peter, “We have a fucking 12-year-old on the team and you’re calling me FRAGILE!”

“Hey…”

“Shut up.”

“He has powers, Doll. You don’t.” Bucky announces annoyed as he pushes his longish dark hair out of his face, “He’s been on the team longer than you too. All I’m saying is he has more experience-”

“WHAT!”

Y/N blurts out in such a deep and powerful tone that Thor looks at her in alarm while slightly raising his hammer. In anger, she then takes a handful of small knives and chuckles them harshly near Bucky. They all hit the white wall behind him, he doesn’t flinch and he doesn’t gain a scratch by her action either. He looks at her bored only making her impossibly more furious. Since she was born she was trained to survive anything and to do anything. Her whole life was about surviving any situation. She never got a day off her whole life until last year when Nick found her and gave her an offer to be a part of the Avengers. Storming toward him with her fist clenched she’s about to throw a punch when he grabs her wrist. When she tries to use her free hand he grabs that one too before she can do any damage to him. He spins her slickly around so her entire back is against his built chest. Lowering his head so his lips are right beside her ear when he whispers in a commanding tone.

“Stop being a drama queen and-”

Not letting him finish Y/N flips him over causing him to fall in front of her onto his back, everyone hears the sound of his back hitting the marble floor. He lays there for a second looking at her for a moment as if he underestimated her strength. With that thought he shakes his head knowing a little girl like her couldn’t be stronger than he’d expect, she’s rather short. The top of her head reaches his shoulder. Not only that but that means she’s been going easy with him in their workouts. They work out every morning and he’s never seen her throw something as heavy as him over her shoulder. Jumping up he turns around back to her with an easy going smile, she has her hip popped out and arms folded. Thor leans near Bruce and whispers into the silence with complete shock.

“I wasn’t informed that Y/N was the Queen of drama.”

“Not now, Thor.”

“Okay, okay, you had your fun.” Bucky sighs tiredly as he struts up to Y/N with a smug look, “You made a scene, flipped me over, so let’s just forget this whole little outburst and grab a beer. Dollface.”

“Don’t. Call. Me. Dollface.” Y/N threatens slowly before tilting her head knowingly and whispering, “HYDRA project.”

Bucky’s posture stiffen, he clenches his fists, his face is unreadable. Everyone in the room has a silent heart attack from Y/N’s cheap shot but he was just a moment ago doing the same thing. Bucky and Y/N face each other with the same dangerous expression. The two have fought plenty of times, usually to let off steam or for bragging rights but this was different. They were actually talking instead of just straight up punching. Their friends honestly didn’t know what to do, they were adults, they’re mature enough to resolve this themselves. Then again they both were mentally and physically messed up. Abruptly Bucky throws all his guns away from his person. A sly smile slips onto Y/N’s face at the gesture, she had just as much power over him as he did over her. Getting into her personal space Bucky tilts his head and whispers.

“You’re such a child.”

“Well, you’re such a cocky prick.”

Her words make him growl lowly while moving closers to her, she takes a few steps back but he takes more forwards. They play this game until Y/N’s back is to the wall and she can’t move. Bucky gazes looks hungry making Y/N question why she picked a fight with him. She always had to pick on with him, she fought with everyone in the Avenger but he was the only one to fight back. Maybe that’s why they were such close friends, she’ll tell him to fuck off and he would break into her room to figure out what’s wrong. She’ll tell him of course and he would do everything to fix it, even if he didn’t fix the problem she would feel 100 times better just by knowing her tried. This is different though, he’s not trying to fix it, it’s almost like he’s egging it on and Y/N’s prideful ass is taking the bait. Tilting his head to the side Bucky rests his hand on either side of Y/N’s head before saying with a smug look.

“At least I don’t pretend I’m not delicate.”

“That’s it!”

“You get Bucky, I’ll get Y/N.”

Tony speaks up instantly to Steve knowing Y/N is thinking irrationally right now. Just as Y/N shoves Bucky away and grabs a vase the guys go over to them in hopes to keep each other from killing one another. She throws the glass vase at Bucky causing him and Steve to duck, it hits the floor near their feet and it breaks into tiny pieces. Tony then grabs her by the arms just for her to flip him over like she did with Bucky earlier. He falls to the floor and she walks over him like he wasn’t even there. A coffee table is in Y/N’s way to Bucky so she easily kicks it out of her way to Bucky. The table slides unknowingly at the Avengers watching them. Some of the moves away and jump over it, Thor uses his hammer to break it and makes it impossible for the broken pieces not to hit his friends around him. Steve who’s pulling Bucky back sees the damage and says for the first time since he’s been frozen.

“Shit.”

Bucky hides a chuckle at the scene in front of him just before Y/N gets to him and punched him in the jaw. His expression goes from shock to mad within a second before pouncing on her. She moves and sweeps his legs before he can tackle her to the ground. He falls and she grabs a glass pot near a couch, she throws it at his laying form. He moves out of the way just a second before it hits the ground and breaks into a million shards. He groans in disbelief because he knows she was really aiming to hit him that time, jumping up he grabs the couch and slides it into her. She falls before she can throw a decorative plant at him. Letting out a heavy breath Buck realizes she’s more pissed than he realized and suddenly asks seriously.

“Are you seriously mad at me calling you delicate?”

“No, Bucky. I’m not mad, I’m just throwing shit for fun.” She growls as she jumps over the couch to get to him, “Of course I’m fucking mad! You’re like my best friend and you treat me like a burden!”

“Doll, you aren’t a burden-”

“Don’t call me that! And don’t you dare lie to me.” She spits out as she shoves him, well, he lets her shove him into the wall behind him, “Ever since I’ve joined you made it your job to baby me and I’ve had it!”

“I baby you because I don’t want you to get hurt!” He spins them around so he has her pinned to the wall as he explains in frustration, “I have not once seen you as some kind of burden to me or to the team.”

“Bullshit! Just admit it!” She barks as she tries to get out of his grasp, “You baby me because you see me as a problem.”

“Dollface… You have it all backward.”

Bucky whispers tiredly as he keeps his hold on Y/N so she won’t punch him. Steve helps Tony stand up behind the two by the wall. They glance at their other friends to make sure they are okay before looking cautiously at Buck and Y/N. Never have has any of them seen the two fight like this, they were always teasing each other or play fighting but never this. The team thought the two were too close to fight this badly. There has to be a more serious reason Y/N’s mad at Bucky, she usually is just annoyed when Bucky is overprotective of her. Maybe she doesn’t see it as being overprotective, maybe she sees Bucky trying to limiting her. That honestly wouldn’t surprise the team, they could tell Bucky likes being in charge of Y/N. Before the team can think any more of this irrational argument they hear Bucky mumble to Y/N so softly that could barely hear it.

“I try to protect you because I couldn’t handle you getting hurt.”

“Well, why don’t you baby Steve!” She fires back not exactly realizing what he meant, “I know you hate when he gets hurt but every time we’re out you-”

“Doll, you’re an exception.”

“It’s because I’m a girl, right? Let me tell you, you sexist-”

“No! For the love of God…”

He groans annoyed before throwing all caution out the window and slamming his lips to hers. She moans in surprise and her eyes go wide just as big as their friends. His hands loosen around her wrist letting her pull loose. Grabbing his shirt in the front aggressively she pulls him closer and shuts her eyes. He sighs in relief before leaning his body on her’s against the wall. One of Bucky’s hands goes to the small of her back to push her bottom half flush on his, this other weaves through her hair. She groans as she wraps her arms around his neck to pull him impossibly closer to her. Bucky begins pulling away from her causing her to follow him needingly. Chuckling Bucky gives her one last kiss before officially pulling away to look down at her. Biting her lip Y/N says breathlessly with the color pink coming to her cheeks.

“Oh… That’s why.”

“Yeah. That’s why, doll face.”

“Well, well, well…” Their little bubble pops when they hear Tony say in a shit eating grin, “What I’d tell Y'all.”

Steve who’s standing right beside the millionaire playboy sends him an unamused look before punching him in the arm. He then turns to Bucky and gives him an easy wink making him look down to his feet before looking at the woman in his arms. Y/N opens her mouth to say something before the only kid in the room blurts out curiously.

“So who’s cleaning this mess up?”

Bucky and Y/N finally look away from each other, the team does the same and looks around. Everyone in the room realizes then it’s a bigger mess than they would have assumed. The coffee table, vase, and fake plant are broken into hundreds of pieces across the room. A couch and table are flipped over and in a weird position and a hand full of knives are in the wall along with a bunch of weapons scattered on the floor. Awkwardly Bucky and Y/N look back at each other, their little fight might have gotten too out of hand. Bursting out loud laughing the two look at each other like they should have expected this much from one another.

Never Hated You - Theo Raeken

word count: 6872
summary: Theo and y/n do not get along, it’s difficult for them to be in the same room together, but things change when he finds her after a bad accident
warnings: car accident, mentions of surgery and broken bones if that bothers anybody, and swearing
a/n: i combined two requests into one and i’m real excited to share this with you i hope you both like it!

[ I know you haven’t made your mind up yet / but I will never do you wrong ]

“Well maybe, it wouldn’t be such a problem, if you weren’t here!” You spat angrily at Theo, who was currently glowering at you from where you stood on the opposite side of the couch as him.  This pack meeting had gone from a check in, to a brawl, in a matter of minutes.

“Oh? And sweetheart what makes you think you can protect yourself against a werewolf huh?” Theo asked you, his aggression just as high as yours.

“Really guys it wasn’t a werewolf, I just heard a howl it seemed like a regular-”

“Shut up!” You and the chimera yelled at Liam at the same time, making Scott stand up from where he’d been sitting at the table.

“Alright, alright this is getting out of hand, really guys chill it down” The alpha warned, both you and Theo calming and turning away from each other and the alpha who made you whimper just slightly under your breath.  You didn’t catch the way Theo glanced over to you upon hearing the sound.

“You know what, I’m just gonna head out” You mumbled, picking you bag up from the couch and fishing your keys out of it.

“No y/n don’t leave I was thinking us girls could have a sleepover” Lydia said, giving you pleading eyes but you just shook your head, no longer feeling in the mood for ‘pack time’.

“I really just want to go home and get some rest” You said quietly, pulling your jacket on then walking to the door.  Scott gave Theo a look.

“Oh no, no” The chimera said.  “I’m not apologizi-” He stopped when Scott’s expression only intensified.  “Fine” He groaned, and followed after you, only to find you’d just walked out the door.  “y/n!” He called, walking outside after you.  You turned back to look at him, then scoffed and walked to your car.

“What now Raeken? Here to slash open my tires?” Theo sighed, but shook his head.

“No, I’m here to-”

“To what? Spit it out, I just want to go home” You breathed, pinching your fingers over your nose.  Theo’s eyes narrowed slightly.

“You know what? Fuck this I’m not apologizing to you”

“Apologizing to me? Oh no sweetie, it’s not your fault that you’re such a jackass.  Oh wait no… Jackson was the jackass.  Jackson the jackass get it? It has a ring.  Now what were you again? Hmm… oh right! You’re Theo the traitor!” You said with fake eagerness, clapping your hands together and making Theo visibly whither.  “You tried to kill me, you tried to kill my pack, now I don’t care if they want to let you back in and trust you again, but just, please” You stressed on the word.  “Leave me the hell alone” Theo’s mouth opened to protest, but he looked at the despair in your eyes and decided against it.

“Fine” He mumbled, backing up to head back into the house.  “Forget it” And with that, he went storming back inside, while you got in your car and drove off.

Screw you anyways, screw you and your nosy intelligence, and your curiosity, and your absolute breathtaking beauty, screw you.  He didn’t need you anyways.  Good riddance.

Theo hadn’t even closed the door when he grabbed his keys and went running back outside to get in his truck and chase after you.

“Scott?” Theo spoke into the phone, it was pressed between his cheek and his shoulder as he drove, searching the streets as he drove recklessly.  “I can’t find her anywhere, I can’t find y/n”

“She probably just went home, I think she was getting a headache actually” Scott said through the speaker.

“I already checked there, she wasn’t there, I can’t find her is there anywhere that she usually likes to go? Secret spots maybe? Favorite places?” He asked, voice desperate.

“The library but I mean at this hour it’s closed” Scott said, and Theo slammed on the brakes, then quickly turned the car around and began to head towards the library.

“Yeah but that wouldn’t stop y/n she’d go anyways” He said, speeding off again.

“Are you going over the speed limit? Cause that’s really not-”

“Scott y/n could be in trouble!” Theo shouted, not caring about the law at the moment.

“And since when did you care?” Scott shot back, and Theo gritted his teeth, then hung up the phone before Scott could ask or say anything else.  He couldn’t live with himself if you got hurt.

He’d met you first in the library at school.  At the time, he hadn’t known that you were a human in the McCall pack, he’d just been watching you with an amused expression as you stacked book after book in your arms, and were now jumping to reach ones on higher shelves.  After a few minutes of watching he finally decided to get up and help you.  He walked over, not saying a word as he easily reached for the novel you’d been jumping for, and handing it to you.  You’d stared at him, not having recognized him because surely you’d remember those green eyes.

“Th-thanks” You said quietly, setting it on top of the other four books in your arms.

“No problem beautiful” He replied, then turned to walk away, leaving you blushing and gaping a little.

“Wait” You called, and he looked at you over his shoulder.  “What’s your name? I’ve never seen you around here before” Your brows crinkled and he gave you a genuine smile.

“Theo Raeken” He told you, and you smiled back as you replied.

“y/n l/n”

“It’s been a pleasure meeting you” He said, before leaving the library, again leaving you standing and staring at his retreating figure.

You didn’t know then that he would screw up your life so horribly.

That he’d inject you with a venom that left you unconscious for three days.

Theo drummed his thumbs on the steering wheel anxiously as he looked all around in the dark, but being able to see fine.  But it had been fifteen minutes and he still hadn’t found you.  He wasn’t sure what else to do, he’d been all over Beacon Hills searching every possible place but you were nowhere.

With a sigh, he slowed down and began to head to where he usually parked for the night.  You probably didn’t even want to be found, and certainly not by Theo.  He felt ridiculous, you were probably just driving around, and even if he had found you, you only would’ve chastised him for following you in the first place.  You hated him, and at this point he should just let you.

Besides, you would never, ever, feel the same way about him that he felt about-

Theo slammed on the brakes, and rolled down his window, breathing deeply out in the air.  He could’ve sworn that he’d caught a whiff of blood, your blood.  When he caught it again, he whipped open the door and began sprinting down the street, knowing that it was yours, that you were in trouble.

“y/n! Y/N!” He screamed, and the further he ran the stronger the scent became.  And soon, he caught sight of just what it was that made your scent of blood so thick.

Your car was upside down, crushed at the front, and completely wrecked.  Somehow upon seeing this he ran impossibly faster and nearly ripped off your car door in his desperateness to see if you were safe.

You moaned, reaching to rub your head but winced and retracted your arm.

“Oh my god, y/n” Theo carefully leaned over to unbuckle you, and pulled you into his arms.

“My leg it- call an ambulance” You begged, tears rushing down your face and mixing with blood from small cuts on your cheeks.  This only made you hurt more, and Theo fumbled in his pocket, still kneeling on the ground with you in his arms.  You had a fist holding tightly to the front of his shirt

“Okay, it’s gonna be okay, you’re gonna be okay” He kept repeating those same words as he dialed 911.

“911 what’s your emergency?” The woman on the other end spoke.

“My friend got into a real bad car accident, she needs an ambulance” He said quickly but tried to sound calm enough for her to understand him.

“Where is your location?”

“Uh-uh Baker’s Ave” He said.

“We’re sending an emergency response crew now, stay calm sir, your girlfriend will be taken to the hospital soon” She responded, and he hung up, typing in Scott’s number again.

“How-how long?” You whimpered, and your body shook slightly as you curled against him.  Theo held his phone between his shoulder and ear, rubbing an arm up and down your back as the phone rang.

“Give me your hand”

“Why?”

“So I can take the pain just give me your hand” He said in a rushed way, and you slipped your bloodied hand into his.  A groan came from his throat as he took away your agony, his veins darkening as it coursed through him.

“Theo? Are you still looking-”

“y/n got in an accident” He cut off Scott.  “The ambulance is on it’s way now we’re going to the hospital”

“Oh-oh my God” Scott mumbled.  “Okay, I’m telling the others we’ll see you there” He said.

“Alright” Theo said through a wince, but he could feel you begin to relax out of relief so he didn’t stop.  “See you there” He said, then hung up on that call too, and focused on you lying in his arms.  “You’re going to be okay” He said, cradling you close, and you closed your eyes. “You’re gonna be okay” Theo repeated, still taking your pain, which was becoming more and more of a struggle.

Soon after, you passed out.

“If you want, you could always just go down to the cafeteria to eat something maybe” You could faintly hear Lydia’s voice, but it seemed distant.

“Yeah man you’ve been here all night and all day, the nurses might get mad soon” Said Liam.

“No, no I can’t leave” Theo’s voice.  Theo? Where were you that Theo was staying?

“Seriously, don’t you think she’ll be confused when she wakes up and we aren’t here?” Stiles said.  You tried to open your eyes, but you were so tired and it felt too good to keep them shut.

“I don’t care, this is my fault, I could’ve gotten there faster” Theo ensued.  “I’m staying with her, whether you like it or not, I’m going to be here when she wakes up”

“Alright Raeken what’s up? You really think she’ll want to see you of all people when she-”

“Okay” Scott’s voice cut off Stiles.  “We’ve gotta go anyways, school starts in fifteen minutes”

“I’m skipping today” Theo brushed off.  “I’ll go back whenever she does” You felt a hand covering over yours, and another one holding your small and limp hand between two warm ones.

“Alright, we’ll come back together after school, but I’ve got a free period in like… four hours” Scott said.  “I’ll come back then” All you heard after that was a door closing.  And you figured the group left, but the warmth around your hand was persistent.

You weren’t sure how much time passed when you finally opened your eyes, turning your head to see who the owner of the hands on yours were.  You were surprised to see Theo there, sitting in an uncomfortable looking chair that he likely stole from the waiting room.  His head was awkwardly laying on a small space of the cot you were situated on, and both of his hands were cupped around your one hand.  You weren’t sure if he was sleeping or not, but you decided not to wake him.

Instead you looked around yourself, trying to gather up how serious your situation was.  You’d been in the hospital numerous times due to Scott’s mother working here and often you were the one to bring her dinner, and had figured out long ago the difference in all the rooms.  The smaller ones with less things inside of them, usually only consisting of a cot and an area of cabinets that the nurses and doctors would work with, were for one night stays, easy fixes.  People who would be out in no time but need a place to be for their procedure.

Looking around the room you were in, you knew this wasn’t the case.  It was large, with a much more elaborate doctor’s station, and you had a rack of different tubs all leading to a pouch that looked like water to you but you weren’t exactly a medical practitioner  Your cot, which was more like a bed, at least it felt like a mattress and not just foam padding like most of the rooms, was larger than most.  Your chest began to rise and fall much more quickly than it previously had been, and you could hear not only your own heartbeat, but the beeping of the monitor in the room quickened as well.  You must have been in bad shape.

Your free hand rose, touching the rubber piece that was hooked delicately in your nostrils, and your eyes followed the tube to a bag that hung near the water pouch, you watched it inflate and deflate as you steadied your breathing, the heart monitor slowing back down to a regular pace as you calmed yourself.  You closed your eyes, trying to remember what had happened that wound you up in here, but you weren’t sure.  You looked over your body, but couldn’t see much since a small woven blanket covered over your chest, hiding you from yourself.

This was when you chose to wake Theo.  Your hand untangled from between his, and you rubbed your palm as calmly as you could over his arm.  He leaned up almost instantly, slowly, but looking straight for you.

“Hey” You spoke, your throat scratchy and making your voice raspy.  “How long have you been here?” You asked him, your brows cinching together with both confusion and concern.

“You’re awake” A small smile of relief spread on his lips, and you weakly returned it.  Thankful that at least there was a familiar face you could wake up to.  “How-how’re you feeling? Any pain?” You shook your head, though you did feel a dull ache.

“What happened to me? Why am I here? Is there a new threat-”

“No no, nothing like that” Theo shook his head, and moved forward, closer to the edge of his seat so he could be closer to you.  “You uh, you got in a car crash” Your eyes widened with surprise, usually you were a completely safe driver, at all times.  Enough that it would piss of Malia when you made her wear a seatbelt, even in the backseat.  And if you braked hard enough, your arm would shoot out towards the passenger side in front of whoever was sitting there.  Sometimes it would happen on instinct even if no one was there.

“I-I did?” You asked, trying to sit up a little to listen more tentatively but you winced, and laid back down.  Theo’s hand shot out to yours as you situated yourself back onto the pillow.  He didn’t speak again until you seemed as comfortable as you could be.

“Yeah, when I found you your car was flipped over and it looked like you’d hit something from the front, but nothing else was around” He told you.  “Looked like a hit and run” He grumbled, annoyed that someone would get you into that bad of a wreck and then just leave you there.

“Oh” Was all you could say in your croaky voice.  “You found me?” You clarified, and he nodded.  “How?”

“I was…” Theo licked over his lips anxiously before continuing.  “I was heading home” He said, knowing it wasn’t a lie, that at the time he had been driving back to the vacant parking lot that he could get away with parking and sleeping in his truck for the night.  You nodded slightly, and then realized that he hadn’t released your hand.  You tried not to draw attention to it, finding the warmth he brought to you to be pleasant.

“Thank you” You eventually told him, making him look up at you out of astonishment by the words.  You smiled at him, a soft, and genuine smile that he’d only seen from you one other time, and it had been the first day he’d met you.

“You’re welcome” Theo replied, voice expressing the shock that he’d felt.  You curled your fingers around his hand, and closed your eyes again, hoping for some sort of peaceful sleep to come over you, but it didn’t.

“Why did you stay?” You whispered out, opening your eyes to reveal their worried orbs.  Theo kept his gaze away from your face though, not bearing to see the blossoming bruise across your cheek along with scattered cuts and your perplexed stare.

“Because I… because” He finished lamely, and you rolled your eyes in response.

“That’s not very explanatory” You stated.

“Yeah, well” He shrugged his shoulders sluggishly and you tugged a little on his hand, prompting him to look at you.

“Were you the one who hit me?” You asked, and immediately he shook his hand and widened his eyes.

“No no, god no y/n I’d never-”

“Then why’re you acting so guilty?” You asked him pointedly, and you could hear a small sigh escape his lips.

“Because y/n I… I care about you and I let this happen, I got there too late and now you’re all…” He didn’t know what to tell you about your injuries.  He wasn’t sure what all you already knew or had figured out.  You decided to take in his words, making a mental note to bring up the fact that he cares about you later.

“What happened to me? I can’t see-”

“I don’t think I should be the one to tell you that” He said, and you huffed slightly, but decided against forcing him to reveal the information.  He already seemed… on edge.

“So, you care about me?”

You spent a few hours with Theo, and it was only nine in the morning.  On a school day that would seem late-ish (which it was a school day so you at least missed classes) but on a weekend you would normally be fast asleep at this hour.  Though you found yourself actually enjoying Theo’s company.  You talked as though a beautiful new friendship was beginning to grow, which it sort of was, but this felt like it was something different.

You weren’t sure what it was that was bubbling up inside of your chest as he told you little things he could remember from his childhood, or why you smiled whenever you’d speak and he’d stare at you, giving you his complete and undivided attention, but it was nice.  It felt warm, and safe.  And being in this confined room, you were glad to have him there with you.  All the while never letting go of his hand.

When nine-thirty hit, Melissa came in, carrying a clipboard while wearing her scrubs, a stethoscope around her neck.  You felt relieved that she was the one to come check on you rather another nurse that you were unfamiliar with.  The woman gave you a sad smile as she checked up on your vitals.

“How’re you feeling miss y/n?” She asked in her concerned mom voice.

“Fine, I think” You replied.  “What happened? Exactly?” You questioned, and she gave you a tired frown.

“You shattered your left femur and patella, but on the right you’re only bruised up, still a pretty ugly mess but nothing broken on that side” Melissa said, and looked over the papers she had on her clipboard.  “Three broken ribs, and a piece of windshield glass actually lodged in your stomach, which is currently just being wrapped up while your ribs are somewhat healing, and we’ll wheel you in for surgery in…” She looked at her watch.  “Ten minutes” She told you, and caught sight of your wide and tear filling eyes.

“I-I-” You choked, your heart monitor beeping like crazy as you began to freak out.  “Surgery?” You looked over to Theo, who stood from his chair, taking your hand in one of his and the other setting a soft palm against your cheek.

“It’s okay, you’re alright” He spoke gently, keeping calm for your sake.  “They’re going to fix you up, you’re safe here, they’re going to make you all better” The longer he talked to you, the slower your monitor became, and soon you were relaxing again.  Melissa looked between the two of you, remembering a time where Lydia had laid on a similar cot to yours, and that she’d had Stiles stay in the room so she’d be calm, knowing that he would anchor her down.  She saw an almost identical connection there that she did with you and Theo, but pretended not to notice the scene in front of her.

“He’s right” The older woman spoke up.  “You’re going to be all better and at the earliest you can head home tomorrow” She said with a warm smile, and you nodded, feeling calmed down once more at her sincerity.

“You’re gonna be okay” Theo said, removing his cupped hand from your cheek and sitting back in his chair.

Your hands were still connected though.

When the time had passed, and it was time for you to be taken down the corridors to where you would be operated on, you grew nervous, which Theo could smell thick in the air.

“y/n” He said softly, and you looked at him from where you were fiddling your fingers on the edge of your blanket.  “It’s going to be okay, Melissa and I will be right there when you wake up” He told you.

“You’ll stay?” You said hopefully, your eyes rounded with optimism, and he smiled as he nodded.

“I will until they let you go home” He told you honestly, and a slight blush creeped up on your cheeks at the way he cared for you.  You just bit back a grin and nodded.

“Okay” You whispered, and just then Melissa came back into the room, wheeling in a wheelchair.

“Alright y/n, we gotta get you in this” She said, and you could already tell that moving would be difficult, and painful.  You visibly winced at the idea of the agony that would shoot through your body when you stood up.

“Okay, come here” Theo instructed, letting go of your hand for the first time in a few hours, and pulled the blanket off of you.  You caught sight of the cat that covered your entire left leg, from the top of your thigh to your ankle, and on your right leg it was mostly patches of deep black and purple marks.  Theo slid one arm beneath your upper legs, the other going around your back.  “Count of three, okay?” He warned you, and you nodded, closing your eyes tight as you counted in your head with him.  “One, two.. Three” He lifted you up with ease and set you swiftly back down into the chair.  You sighed with relief, grateful that you felt only a small amount of pain.

“Thanks” You breathed out, leaning your head back slightly.  Theo nodded, as Melissa came over to guide your chair out of the room.  You looked back quickly to Theo but he was already walking behind you both to stay near you.  He saw the way you desperately looked for him, and made his way up to walk next to your wheelchair down the mostly empty hallways.  You looked up at him, and reached your hand out for his that was swinging at his side.  He didn’t think too much of it, seeing that you were about to go into surgery and he knew it scared you, but you intertwined your fingers between the spaces of his, and it was something that made his heart beat a little faster.

Before you’d only clasped your hand around his, but now you were legitimately, holding onto his hand, conjoining your fingers.  You actually needed him.

Theo looked down at you, to see your eyes were on your hands as he caressed his thumb over yours softly.  You looked up at him with big doe eyes, and he gave you a smile which you returned before looking down at your casted leg.

He kept your hands together until you had to be taken into the operating room, and he released it.

“No don’t-” You could barely protest before a doctor took your chair from Melissa.  “Please let him stay just until I have to-”

“The room needs to be sterile” The man said in a bored tone.

“But-please-”

“It’s okay, I’ll be right here when you get out” Theo said, and you looked back at him with panicked eyes.  Worry filled his chest, knowing that if you started freaking out now there’d be nothing e could do.  “I’ll be right here” He told you, planting his feet on the ground to try and prove to you he’d be as close to you as he could the entire time.  You opened your mouth to say something to him, but the door closed.

Theo stared at that door, standing in the middle of the hallway for a few minutes, before finally sitting down in another uncomfortable chair, impatiently waiting for the doors to open again and for him to go in and see you.

He’d passed out sitting in that chair, but was woken up again by Melissa nudging him.  He groaned slightly, not wanting to be awake.

Until he remembered you a few moments later, and shot up, seeing Scott standing next to her as well.

“Is she awake? Can I see her?” He rushed out the questions.

“She is, she’s still coming down from the anesthetics so she’ll be a little loopy, but I can sneak you in there for a while” Melissa said.

“Can I see her too?” Scott asked, to which Melissa looked around, double checking the halls were empty before nodding.

“Be smart about it” She warned, before swiping her card through the coded lock, and Scott walked in before Theo could go in first.

You were sat on a cot, the top half of it slanting upwards so you were in a partial sitting position.  You didn’t seem to be in any pain as you curiously looked all around the room

“Scottyyyy!” You called, a big grin pulling at your lips as you held your arms out for him to hug you.  He chuckled quietly, trying to hug you as lightly as he could as not to press against the stitches over your stomach.  “I missed you puppy” You said, petting his hair.  Both Scott and Theo gave each other a look.

“You are ten feet off the ground” Theo said, and you stopped touching Scott’s head and looked quickly to where Theo was.  A brighter smile made it’s way onto your face as you saw him, and you pushed Scott away, eagerly holding out for him now, your fingers opening and closing impatiently as he came over to you.

“Hey princess, how do you feel?” He asked, holding you gently for a moment before dragging over a chair to your bed.  Scott did as well, watching the two of you interact with a curious glint in his eye.

“I feel so good! Doctor doctor said they’d bring me pudding if I feel good, and I do!” You said enthusiastically and making the chimera chuckle.

Doctor doctor?” Scott repeated.

“Yeah, I didn’t catch his name, so i figured it was also just doctor.  Doctor doctor isn’t that neat?”

“I’ve never seen her so out of it” Theo said as you sing songed doctor doctor over and over again.

“Yeah me either.  She’s not even like this when she’s drunk” Scott replied.  Suddenly you shot your hand out and grabbed onto Theo’s.

“You let go of me, you let them push you out” You said, a dramatic pout on your face as you studied Theo’s hand, tracing your fingers over the creases in his palm and along his knuckles.

“I’m sorry sweetheart they wouldn’t let me go in with you, I’m not a Doctor” He said as kindly as he could, his free hand petting over your head gently, pushing your hair away from your face.

“Well made you should be” You said sassily, but it only made him smile.

“I’ll try harder next time” He told you, and you nodded curtly.  Scott stood up, deciding that he wasn’t the one you needed to be with right now.

“You’re leaving?” You asked him, eyes staring at him in a puzzled way.

“Yeah, I’m gonna head out and uh… find my mom” He said, lying only a little.  You shrugged.

“Fine” You said, pulling on Theo’s hand and wrapping your arms completely around his.  “More cuddles for Theo” You stated blankly, nuzzling your cheek against the crook in his arm.  Scott chuckled at the way Theo grinned instinctively before containing it.

“He can have all the cuddles” Scott said with a wink before heading out the door.  “I’ll see you in bit y/n” He said then left, closing the door behind him.  You shrugged a shoulder, looking up at Theo through your lashes.

“More cuddles for youuu” You said in a singing tone that made him laugh, and continue running his fingers through your hair.

“How’d everything go?” He asked, though he was sure you wouldn’t give him a  valid answer.

“Prettygoodprettygoodprettygood” You told him.  “I missed you though, I miss you”

“You miss me? I’m right here” Theo said.  You frowned.

“You haven’t always been right there, you used to hate me” You whined slightly, but he shook his head.

“No y/n I’ve never hated you, I could never hate you” He told you sincerely.

“But you used to fight with me all the time” You said.  “You stabbed me in the neck and I slept for a long long time” Theo sighed, wishing he could talk to you about this when you weren’t still high on anesthetics.  But now was as good a time as ever, and he needed you to know the truth.

“y/n, I did that to you so that you would stay out of the mess” He told you, and your brows furrowed together.  “It put you to sleep, safely, I swear to god it was safe, for seventy two hours so that you wouldn’t be out there trying to fight off The Beast and the Dread Doctors” You lifted your head from his arm, staring at him seriously, and he felt like suddenly you were completely grounded and sober.

“What?” You asked in a quiet, unsure voice.

“I know, at the time it seemed like a bad move but I couldn’t have you getting hurt, you weren’t ever supposed to get hurt” You blinked a few times, letting this new information sink in.  After a few silent moments, you laid your head back onto Theo’s arm, holding onto him still and beginning to doze off.

“I like you so much right now that it scares me” You whispered, before falling asleep while clinging onto him.

During your little nap, you were placed back into your wheelchair and taken back to the room you’d been previously staying in so you could recover smoothly.  Theo moved with you, going back to sit in his chair from earlier while you slept peacefully.  When Melissa had left the room after he laid you back in bed and pulled the cover over you, he held onto your hand again.

He clasped it around your palm gently, his eyes trained on your small hand in his, before letting go, and sliding his fingers in between yours.  He liked this much better, feeling he could hold onto you more closely and liking that he could rub circles into the back of your hand.

You let out a soft moan, your head rolling slightly as your eyelashes fluttered open.  Your gaze landed on Theo sitting next to you, his hand holding onto yours.  A soft smile graced your lips as you stared at him adoringly.

“You’re here” You said hoarsely but quietly.  Theo smiled back at you, his eyes flickering from your hands to your eyes.

“I’m here” He murmured back.  “I was with you when you got out of surgery but you probably don’t remember” You eyes narrowed and lips parted as you thought.

“I remember some of it” You mumbled, and a soft breathy laugh emitted from him.  “I remember you telling me about… about what you did” You whispered, somehow impossibly lower than you’d spoken earlier.  Theo stared at you tensely, his mind racing on what you could possibly say next.  “Which confused me- well, still does” You corrected.

“It confuses you?” He asked, brows furrowing at your words.  You nodded in response.

“Yeah” You said, licking over your lips.  “If you wanted me safe, you should’ve just told me” Theo almost snorted.

“You would’ve listened?” You smiled as you laughed a little.

“No, not at first I’m sure” You replied, both of you laughing quietly at your stubborn tendencies.  “But I think eventually I would’ve listened”

“I don’t think you trust me enough for that” Theo sighed, and you held onto his hand a little tighter.

“I trust you” You said, and you declared it as though it were a secret you kept pent up inside you for a long time.

“You didn’t” He said simply, and you both knew he wasn’t wrong.

“I do now” You said earnestly, pulling your molded hands up closer to you, holding them against your chest.  “You saved me, I could’ve died” You told him.

“You wouldn’t have-”

“I could’ve” You cut him off.  “And you’ve saved me multiple times, apparently” You stated.  Theo looked down, his free hand drumming anxiously against your blanket.  “Thank you” You said.

“You don’t have to thank me, I couldn’t just leave you in the street like that y/n, or back then I- you’re human you don’t heal like the rest of us if you’d gotten hurt because of stupid century-old robot men I wouldn’t be able to live with myself” You chuckled slightly at his wording.

“Stiles is human” You whispered.

“What?”

“Stiles, he’s human” You said again.  “You let him go out there and fight against him, didn’t try and protect him” You said, an uncontrollable smile tugging on your lips and a pink tint on your cheeks.  “He doesn’t heal any faster than I do” Theo laughed, but it was a short and nervous sound.

“Yeah well… maybe you need more protection than he does” He said, and you rolled your eyes.

“I was taught to shoot by Argent, and before him, Allison, and never once have I missed” You told him.  “I can shoot a military standard machine gun, and Stiles can swing a bat and sometimes it doesn’t break” You said, and it really wasn’t a lie.  “If anything, you should’ve done it to Stiles, I fight far better than he does-”

“Yeah well I like you far more than Stiles” Theo cut you off, making your blush darken, and your momentary confidence dissipate instantly.

“I’m flattered” You said, making him laugh slightly.  “But thank you anyways, even if I could’ve killed the Doctors before any of you” Theo shrugged.

“Anytime” He said, then shook his head rapidly.  “No no not anytime, not again, I’m not doing it again I promise-”

“Theo” You said through a short laugh.  “I get it” He was quiet as you stroked your thumb over his hand, really liking the way he’d held onto you all day, and hoping it didn’t change when you got out of the hospital.  “Theo” You said softly, and didn’t look away from your hands.  “I don’t hate you, and you’re not a traitor” You told him, in the most serious, straight faced way you could.  “I never hated you” Theo pulled half a smile, moving closer in his chair and ran his hand over your forehead, petting softly down your hair to about ear’s length, then moving back to the top of your head again.  It was a very comforting motion that you closed your eyes in gratification.

“I never hated you either y/n” He responded solemnly, still running his palm over you gently.  “I cared about you too much to see you get hurt, far before anything horrible happened” A small hum came from your throat, and you turned your head while his hand had just brushed over your cheek, pressing slightly against his warm skin.  Your nose brushed slightly over his wrist as you nuzzled into him, rolling onto your side slowly, and wincing during the process.  “Don’t do that” Theo scolded slightly upon seeing the pain it brought you to lay on your hip.

“I’m good- it’s good” You struggled, and he took your pain away with the hand cupped around your cheek before you could protest.  You then laid peacefully facing him, using the palm of his hand as your pillow and relaxing again.  “Theo?”

“Yes?”

“I… I’m really glad that you stayed with me today, it means a lot” You murmured, and making Theo smile again.

“I am too” he murmured, and you kept his gaze for a few moments.  Normally, you would’ve felt nervous, awkward staring into someone’s eyes for so long.  But his hazel green irises were just so appealing and you couldn’t get yourself to glance away.  “I’ve liked getting to know you for real y/n” You grinned wide, a slight blush appearing on your cheeks.

“You too” You said back wiggling a little closer to the edge of the bed.  He moved to the edge of his seat, staring down at your wide and sparkling eyes.  Even with the oxygen tube placed in your nose you looked breathtaking in this moment.  Theo let go of your hand, placing it opposite of his other palm on your cheek, holding your face in his hands.  You stared up at him, all of your attention, completely on his every move, his every touch.  He leaned down, ever so slightly, his eyes flicking from your rounded eyes to your lips, parted and plump, awaiting his own warm mouth.  You smiled after a moment of your intense stare, and he swore your eyes lit up as you watched him.

You rose your hands up, tiredly hooking your wrists behind his neck and mustering the strength to push upwards, hesitating just slightly, but Theo’s hands still on your cheeks guided you the rest of the way, your lips meeting in the softest, most gentle kiss ever given.

It was sleepy, and slow, both of you testing the waters with your newly found chemistry.  And neither of you disliked it one bit.  Theo carefully laid you back down onto your bed, so that you could rest and not have to gather the strength to lean up.  But not once did you break the kiss, just softly slant your lips against his, your head tilting slightly and moving in sync with him.

Your hand slid from behind his neck and tracing down his cheek, laying on his jaw as he pulled away from you.  Your bottom lip became encased by your teeth, but his thumb gently prodded it out.

“You, are the most beautiful girl, that I have ever, and will ever meet” He told you quietly, making a deep blush rush to your cheeks.

“Theo I’m wearing a hospital gown and there’s literally tubes in me” You said with a nervous laugh, but he shook his head, his thumbs caressing over your face in a soft fashion.

“It doesn’t matter” He whispered, and you smiled before pulling his lips back down to yours, falling in love with the warm and plump sensation as they moved together.  You hummed softly out of pleasure and delight.  Your fingers curled slightly around his jaw, and even when you parted you still held him close, your lips pulled into a smile as your lashes flicked up from his to his eyes.  He smiled back, his forehead resting against yours.

“I love you” You murmured out, ever so quietly as you stared at him intensely.  Teo’s hand brushed across your cheek, before tilting his head up to press a kiss against your forehead.

“I love you too princess” Theo said, then leaned back in his seat.  Propping an elbow up on the side of your cot so he could lean his head against his hand.  “Now get some sleep, the pack’s gonna wanna see you soon” You nodded, taking his empty hand and linking your fingers together before closing your eyes peacefully.

Things weren’t so scary when he was sitting there watching over you.

alright i hope that was slow burn enough for ya XD

Deadly Sins- Envy & Wrath , Deadly Sins-Lust & Wrath

[Peter’s POV]

Peter you have training with Steve and Sam in ten minutes, you need to hurry to the training room” Karen’s voice fills the air of your bedroom. Crap I’m running late, I just got back from our spot with fresh flowers for the kitchen table. I picked a rose especially for my girl.

“I will be there shortly Karen, thank you” I reply fixing my black joggers on my waist. Pulling my shirt on followed by my hat putting it on backwards. I wore hats that way to keep my curls out of my face while I worked out. Looking over at our bed my girl laid there like she has for the past three months. Crying herself to sleep, having night terrors and crying during the day. The only time she would get up to move was to shower, eat or work in her lab. Then whenever she was done she would go right back to bed without a word.

“Angel, I won’t be back for a few hours then I’ll come back after, are you going to be okay?” I ask kneeling near the bed. I rub her cheek with my thumb. A tear falls down her cheek making my hand wet. Quickly I wipe away the others that fall giving her forehead a quick kiss. She sniffles causing a pain to happen in my chest. I hate seeing her like this for so long. No one can tell her what to do because they didn’t experience what she did that awful night.

“You don’t have to pity me Peter, it’s been three months since that night” she whispers pulling the blankets closer to her chest. Shock plastered on my facial features. This was the first time she spoke to me since then. Her voice sounded like music to my ears.

“Pity you? You’re my girlfriend, the love of my life.. you got assaulted and I saw it with my own eyes..” my voice rising a bit. How could she think you pity her? You love her more than life itself. She is what I think about when I wake up and before I go to bed.

“I haven’t let you sleep with me since then.. you’re probably tired of me now, I’m used” her voice breaks as she turns her back to you. A sob comes from her shaking covered body. Wanting so badly to pull her into your chest but she doesn’t let me do that much anymore without getting stiff or flinching. It’s been so hard when she distanced herself from me.

“You’re everything to me Angel.. I wish you would let me show how much of a rare gem you are, even if not I would wait as long as I needed to” Placing one more kiss to the back of her head I place a rose on the nightstand beside our bed. Heading out of the room I tell Karen to play some Halsey for her while I’m away. Karen wishes me luck with training before playing the playlist.

“Peter”

“Peter focus!” my eyes snap to the voice seeing Steve and Sam looking at me. Steve looked concerned and Sam was waving his hands around. Thankfully Tony wasn’t here or he would make the training hell.

“I-I’m okay guys sorry, what’s next?” I ask re wrapping my hands, the wrap was starting to get loose. Steve and Sam look at each other almost having a silent conversation but with their eyes.Sam walks over placing a hand on my shoulder pausing before he speaks.

“I know this is still a tough subject but I want you to punch this bag as many times you can.. Imagine it was that man” I grit my teeth nodding at his request. He pats my back urging me to start. I charge at the bag jabbing it hard imagining the man’s face. Minutes go by as I continue to hit the punching bag. My breathing getting heavy as I kept going. The only thing that kept me going was my girl, my sweet sweet angel.

“C’mon Peter harder c’mon man you got this” Sam cheers next to Steve. You could feel Steve’s stare boring into your skin only making you push harder. Fists slamming into the bag at a faster pace, feeling every muscle engaging to it’s full capacity. Grunts falling past my lips feeling the pain spread through my arms.

Letting out a scream I punch it so hard it snaps off the chain flying towards the wall. Colliding into the wall it hits the floor with a thud. My chest heaving up and down as I collapse to the ground. A feeling grows in my chest, it was regret. If only I had stayed with her maybe she wouldn’t of have been targeted. If only I was quicker maybe I could have stopped him from raping her. All the what ifs filled my mind as I tried controlling my breathing.

“Let me get another bag, I’ll be back” Steve says heading to the spare room. Sam walks over sitting down next to me. Him and Bucky normally picked on you but there were moments where he felt like an older brother. Tony could barely talk to you because he was still upset the situation happened over the men wanting supplies from his corporation. He feels more to blame than how I feel of not getting there in time.

“Peter, man you know I didn’t mean to make you upset… we just need you working to your fullest potential. This is a hard time for you,Tony and your angel.. how’s she doing ?” He asks rubbing my back a sympathetic look on his face.

“Not good.. She told me today she thought I’m tired of her just because we haven’t had sex since the incident.. She feels used because of that fucking bastard.. Today was the first time she talked to me since then” my hands running through my hair. I hated to cry but it felt so good as the tears fell. Sam patted my back as the tears fell onto the matted flooring.

“You are her world Peter, it’s natural for a woman to feel like that.. She’s yours and she felt like someone took that part of her away and that you probably don’t want a woman who was taken that way.. You just need to show her that even after the months of silence you’re still her one and only.” He gives me a smile lifting his goggles to his forehead. Helping me up from the ground I pull him into a hug.

“T-thank you Sam” I whisper as he squeezes me tightly before letting go. Steve comes back in carrying two punching bags. Letting them down with a thud he preps a new chain for the new bag.

“Now that we have you where we want you, let’s do more boxing then take it into combat practice mode, cool?” He grins in your direction.

“If I get to kick your ass then hell yeah” Laughing as I punch my right hand into my left palm.

“There’s the Parker I know” Steve smiles making Sam chuckle.

[Reader’s POV]

“Babe I’m back” you hear Peter’s voice fill your apartment. You were currently looking at yourself in the mirror. The redness in your cheeks from crying, you looked like a damn mess. Holding your rose that Peter gave you earlier in your shaking hands.

You couldn’t even respond like you used to. Your body felt numb and your voice non existent.

“Angel.. Please look at me” his voice begs as his finger tilts your chin in his direction.Opening your eyes you looked at Peter whose eyes looked pained. His normally happy self seemed so melancholy.

“Babygirl, please say something.. It felt so good to hear the sound of your voice today.. I love the sound of it and you talking to me..” His arms slowly wrapping around your body. They pulled you close to him, feeling his warmth engulfing you. You’ve missed this. Yet you felt better by yourself the past three months.

“I-I’m sorry Peter.. You’ve been trying to talk to me and I hate that I couldn’t talk to you I just feel like my whole body is numb.. I’ve m-missed you so much and I loved all the flowers you gave me everyday” my voice feeling like it was jumbled as tears started forming. His lips pressed against your head. The feeling so comforting and soothing. It was hard the few months you distanced yourself from him.

“I missed you more Angel, I can’t believe you thought I would leave you after that… you aren’t used cause you’re my girl no matter what happens.” He places his hands on your cheeks. The warmth of his hands making you close your eyes. Tilting your head into his palms sighing, you felt safe.

“Promise me you’ll never leave me” I whisper holding onto him tighter. I could feel his muscles through his shirt. The definition of his muscles was clear as your hands slid down his back.

“I will never leave you, like I said you’re everything to me” Lips press against yours, the feeling hitting you like a bag of bricks. You needed him more than you thought. The intense feeling waking up your whole body. Pulling his shirt as he deepens the kiss. It wasn’t forceful but it was full of love. The kiss reminding you that Peter is there for you through thick and thin. Even after these months went by he never changed.

“God you need a shower” you laugh as your nose scrunches up. You trying to pull away only to be pulled back to his body.

“Well after you hugging me now you do too, c’mon let’s save water” He winks pulling you towards the master bathroom. It felt so good to have his hand in mine. Following behind him he heads to the touch screen next to the shower.

Peter touches the buttons to get the temperature and water pressure right. Lifting his shirt off slowly he throws it to the floor. My eyes looking at the muscles move when he made movements. The way his joggers hung dangerously low on his hips. Looking at the V muscle showing making me want to kiss my way down. The sight made me want to do so many things. He is like a sexual piece of art that you can look at.

“C’mon angel let’s get you undressed” his hands find your waist lifting his shirt you had on. Peter tossed your shirt into a pile. You weren’t wearing a bra so your breasts were exposed. Feeling his lips ghost over your skin. Placing kisses slowly down your body.  He unties the string on your shorts slipping them down along with your panties. Kisses placed on your hips before he slowly stood back up.

“Peter, p-please” I gasp out at the feeling of his lips kissing up to the shell of your ear. You were desperate with need. Your arms snaked around his neck, hands getting lost in his curls. He pulled down his joggers stepping out of them. His lips still sucking and biting the skin of your neck.

“I’ve missed you so much” Peter’s voice sounded so pained, you hated that you caused him pain.He swiftly lifts you up heading towards the walk in shower. Music still playing in the background as he carried you in. Your eyes were taking in his features, you haven’t looked at him like this in what seemed like forever. The intimate eye contact made your heart flutter.

“I-I’m sorry P-”

“You have nothing to be sorry about Angel..” Your back is pressed against the tile wall. He sets you down so you’re standing in front of him.  Peter’s lips left a trail of hot kisses from your neck down between your breasts. Your hand going to his curls trying to hold onto something else besides the wall. The look in his eyes as he made his way down made your heart pound harder. How he was kissing your skin seemed like he was trying to kiss away all the pain you had for that span of time.

His fingers ghosting their way down from your breasts. Fingertips sliding down your skin to your hips. The pads of his thumbs rubbed soothing circles on your hips making you twitch under his touch. Lifting your left leg he places it over his shoulder. Light kisses being placed from the top of your inner thigh slowly going down.

His teeth nip at your skin causing a moan to come out. You loved it when he was like this but it was also torture waiting in anticipation. His hands gripped your thigh tighter as he got closer to your core. Peter’s right hand kept your hips still so you wouldn’t move. Your legs felt wobbly but he kept you standing. His tongue licks your core slowly while still looking up at you. A whimper comes out as he flicks his tongue on your clit.

Hands tighten in his hair as he keeps eye contact with you. The steam in the shower making it slightly harder to breathe. Your hips moving as you grinded against his tongue. He slowly inserts a finger in pumping slowly in and out of you. Another followed shortly after making you moan his name out repeatedly. His fingers curling inside sent a wave of pleasure washing over you. Peter hit-s your g-spot making your fingers grip his curls more.

“P-lease… make love to me Peter. I c-can’t wait anymore” you gasp out with tears in your eyes. He gives one last kiss to your clit withdrawing his fingers from you. Standing he looks down at you eyes dark with arousal.

The water hitting Peter made his curls drip with water. Watching as droplets slide down his fit body made you bite your lip.He lets your left leg down. Your right leg held now in the crook of his left arm. He takes his cock rubbing it up and down your slit slowly. The action making you pant even more in the heated shower.

Looking down you watch as his cock slides into you. A groan slips out of Peter’s lips as he enters you. Your right hand gripping his shoulder from the pleasure that sparked inside you. His right hand cups your cheek gently as his thrusts go deep and slow.

“Fuck.. K-keep your eyes on me Angel..” your eyes fluttered open, his gaze trapping yours. Moans slip out as your back hits the wall a bit the pain and pleasure starting to mix together.

“Pe-Peter” I whimper as his thrusts start getting faster. Grunts escaped his lips as his pelvis smacked against yours. The feeling of him pumping in and out of you felt so good after so long of not having anything.

“God you feel so good, you’re my girl,my one and only” he whispers resting his right forearm against the wall. My hand slides down from his hair and goes down to stay at his chest.  I could feel his heartbeat against my palm.

“Please know I will never abandon you, I’m here for you through thick and thin.. Whatever comes our way we can get through it together” Peter presses kisses on your jaw heading down to your bruised neck.

“I-I love you Peter” I gasp out when I feel his thumb rubbing fast circles against my clit. Your thighs start to shake as pleasure fills your entire body. Puffs of air escaped you as you could feel the edge coming quickly.

“I love you more Angel, m-more than you can imagine” he groans as his thrusts start become sloppier. His hands grasp your hips pulling you against him the same time he thrusts causing himself to go deeper. The sound of both of your moans filled the bathroom air echoing off the tile walls. Looking to the side the whole master bathroom was filled with steam from the hot water that pelted against both of your bodies.

“I’m gonna c-cum” I moan tilting my head back. His lips attached onto the base of my neck. The feeling of him sucking, and biting left you breathless. Reaching down I start rubbing my clit earning a moan from Peter. The pleasure taking over my body as I came hard. Holding onto Peter for dear life as he came after my release. His lips press onto mine in a desperate kiss pulling my body flush against his.

“I can’t feel my legs” I breathe out holding onto Peter.

“Peter, Mr. Stark tried shutting down your Do Not Disturb Protocol because he needs to- uh oh he broke into the apartment” Karen’s voice sounds scared.

“He broke in?!” I shout trying to stand only to slip and fall hard on the floor.

“Fuck this isn’t good” Peter scrambles rushing towards the screen turning off the shower. This situation could only get worse from here.

“Peter we have to talk this instant , what the hell is this Do Not Disturb Protocol abo-” The door slams open causing me to yelp out in fear at the sound of the door banging against the wall.

“Mr. Stark you have to get out!” Peter covers himself as I glared up at him trying to hide but there was no point.

“You’re sleeping with my daughter and keeping record in Karen’s system?! Wha-” Tony’s voice raises but he stops at what he’s about to say next.

DAUGHTER?” I ask in disbelief looking between the two of them.

Peter still covering himself as he grabs our towels. Snatching the towel I cover myself up. Tony had his eyes covered  while the two of you put your towels on. You could barely stand from what you just went through but the adrenaline of the situation helped.

“Angel, I-” Peter grasps your wrist trying to pull you to him.

“What the hell Peter” ripping my hand out of his,I walk past Tony embarrassed as hell.

Grabbing a pair of clothes I go to our front door. It had a blasted hole into it near the handle. Changing in the extra bathroom I get inside Peter’s hoodie. Running out of the apartment and down the hall. Hearing snickers I saw Sam and Bucky in the hallway with grins. I give them a eat shit and die look before getting the elevator.

[Peter’s POV]

“What the hell Tony! Is that seriously the way you wanted to tell her that she’s your daughter” I spat at him earning a quick slap to the face.

“No it wasn’t , it slipped out..” He groans walking out of the bathroom.

“Well I’m going to change and if you care to JOIN me, you can explain everything so my girlfriend doesn’t HATE me.” I say pulling clothes out of the drawer.Throwing on my clothes quickly I mentally slap myself for the situation.

“Do I HAVE to.. ?” Tony says digging his shoe into the carpet.

“Tony, you’re GOING!” I snap pulling his sweater knowing exactly where she took off to.

Yellow cancels out purple and brown…no purple and blue.

And lavender cancels out…yellow?

Jesus Christ. This shouldn’t be that difficult, hiding the evidence of your home life is a normal occurrence. The three concussions you’ve acquired over the years must be catching up to you.

You’re squinting harshly at the Revlon concealers on the top shelf before you. Trying and failing to remember which ones work the best, basically whatever hides the fucking truth.

Your exhausted brain is practically mush at this point in time, you used to know this shit. You used to know a lot of shit. You used to be a strong, independent take no bullshit kind of a woman that took care of herself. But things clearly change. People fucking change.

Your heart would’ve jumped right out of your chest if not for your ribs that confined them because your heart was beating so fast. As you walked down the steps with stiff legs, your eyes were settled on the man who sat just a few rows ahead of you. You took in the his outfit–a simple over-sized black hoodie and ripped denim jeans. He was shoving his belongings inside of his black backpack as you approached him.

Do you have any advice for writing characters undercover? Thanks!

So, we’ve covered this topic a lot in the past. Undercover operatives, intelligence agents, black ops, assassins, and spies I’d start with a spies search on our website, as that’ll get you started. The really good references will be there. My big advice for writing any kind of spy fiction is to have a clear idea of what you want and which genre you’re chasing. Do want James Bond or George Smiley? You can blend these genres, but it’s a good idea to have a clear idea as that’ll define your narrative.

The first thing to understand about spies and any sort of shadow operative is the Burn Notice quote: “A spy is just a criminal with a government paycheck.”

Take a look at this passage. This is a character (Thirteen) trained as an undercover operative exiting a bad situation. What do you see?

Limping down the hall, I forced one foot before the other. Slowly, my stride lengthened. The silver door at the end didn’t open, so I pushed it, and stumbled out onto the launch pad. My gaze fell on a string of oval automatic airstreams parked all in a row. No, I frowned, eyes sweeping to street and the vehicles winging by in the air overhead. No self-respecting AI would let me drive in this condition. Robots always insisted on hospital, and I had no time to hack. To get out fast, I needed a human. A cabbie. Older, preferably female. Fingers to my neck, I tapped twice. Up came the ODS, my thoughts linking to: call a cab. Human.

A string of numbers and faces appeared before my eyes, the oldworld men and women working a dying industry. Better for No Questions Asked rides in our digital world, no one else called when they could pay a corporate run robot for half the cost.

I picked the first female face that flashed across my dash.

Time to pick up… thirty seconds.

I gripped my injured arm, and ran an analysis. Tucked out of sight, Sixteen’s pistol rested against my ribs. Ammunition at less than half a magazine, so seven rounds. Eight, if I counted the one in the chamber. The Uplink already registered the irreparable damage and severed the blood flow to the damaged limb. So, no more bleeding out. My upper lip curled. A bad trade off for no more arm. Damn, Sixteen.

Fifteen seconds.

I couldn’t hide in the shadows. Needed to seem desperate, distraught. Call up tears.

Ten seconds.

My blurred gaze flicked to the skyline, watching for black. The Ghosts wouldn’t appear in the datastream. Still, NIS hadn’t cut my access. Not yet.

Five.

A beat up airstream in ruby red dropped out of the sky to the left, pulling up to the curb. They were early. From the shabby state of their car, probably desperate. Good.

I limped over quickly. Even if they weren’t my ride, they were human and sitting in the driver’s seat. A car enthusiast who needed no AI systems to handle the steering. Likely to have built in cameras. More likely to possess a slow Uplink. Slow data received poor police service. My fingers seized the handle, flung open the door, and threw myself inside.

“Need a ride?” the voice was sympathetic, unfamiliar.

I slid across the bench into the seat behind the driver. My free hand tight on my damaged limb, couldn’t do much about my nose. So, instead, I tilted my head and caught her reflection in the mirror. Younger. Mid-thirties. Red hair worn short with one gray streak, tied back in a severe bun. Clear hazel eyes. Talk like you’re in pain, scared, but putting on a brave face. Tears. I wiped the blood from underneath my nose, sniffling. “Y-y-yeah.” I cleared my throat. “Yeah. Thanks.” I tried for a half-smile, half-grimace, and leaned on the window. “Just looking to get away. The address should be—”

“You don’t need to worry, I have it,” the driver said. “Came in with your order. Grace, right? You want to go downbelow, the Rep Shop.”

“Yeah.” Resting my cheek against the glass, I closed my eyes; Uplink sizing up her car’s systems. Automatic turned off, but easy enough to hijack. My free hand drifted off my injury, and moved near the pistol hilt jabbing my ribs.

“I’m Marla, I’ll be your driver today.” A pause followed. “You sure a pretty girl like you wants the Rep Shop? Not a hospital? You look pretty banged up.”

“No,” I replied. I got what she suggested, this was a nice neighborhood. “I just need… need to go…”

“Boyfriend trouble?”

I grimaced, eyes squeezing shut, and wished I felt a twinge of guilt. It’s like the Overseer always says, love is just a cover.

“Don’t worry, no need to say it,” Marla said as the engine revved, the floorplates shook, and the airstream lifted skyward. “Shipped enough victims out of here to know.”

Notice, she pays attention to her surroundings and makes choices based on her condition in service of her needs. She needs to get out quickly, but would run into more trouble stealing a car so she calls up a cab driven by a human. Human’s are easier to manipulate in short order than code cracking. She specifically aims for a female cab driver, one preferably older than she is.

Why?

She’s female. Another woman is more likely to assume her injuries are because of a man, and a cab driver will have encountered this scenario often enough to not pry too deeply into it. An older woman is likelier to be maternal and protective, but not so protective that she’ll stay beyond when Thirteen needs her too. However, pay attention to the fact that Thirteen never verbally confirms it was a man who caused her injuries. She lets Marla assume, and fill in the blanks herself. This gives her an out later if she needs to change her story and place the blame on Marla’s shoulders for misunderstanding.

This is an example of what’s called social engineering. Deliberately manipulating the people in your environment to divulge confidential information or getting them to do what you want.

Notice also: After getting into the vehicle, Thirteen’s hand goes to the gun she stole. As she is playing to Marla’s sympathies, she is also assessing the possibility of killing this woman and taking control of the car if things don’t go the way she’s planned. Thirteen would prefer to exit by the easiest means possible, but a good spy always has a contingency. She won’t compromise her safety, and civilian lives mean next to nothing. A dead body is one more problem to deal with, one more attention getter that she doesn’t want, but she’ll go there. Violence is messy, and sometimes necessary.

There’s no real difference between a spy and a conman. Still, if you want to trick people there’s a few rules to follow.

What a spy isn’t:

A compulsive liar, an overseller, or lies all the time. An undercover operative needs to maintain their identity, that is one identity, singular. While a spy can create many false personalities, they should only be using one at a time with the goal of giving away as little information in trade as possible.

Notice: Thirteen does not tell Marla a story, she lets Marla create the story and then plays along. It is easier to convince someone of a lie when they’ll craft it themselves. Why say something when you can get just as much by saying nothing at all?

“You’ve told her three lies. Suppose she’s an asset, now you have to make all three lies true.” - Spy Game

Your character can’t just lie, a liar will be caught after a prolonged period of time. They need to manipulate the truth by creating a fiction. A cover is a fictional person with a fictional job who people think really exists when they check the character’s identity. Assume their identity will be checked, re-checked, and checked again. They are not maintaining a cover to a singular individual, but multiple ones. Their assets are the locals they are manipulating in order gain access to information, and who often run the jobs for them. These assets will, most of the time, not know the truth or not know the whole truth about who the spy really is.

Assets can be friends, business associates, girlfriends/boyfriends, wives/husbands, disgruntled employees, janitors, etc.

Your character can’t enter a business or government agency as a pretend janitor if they’re also going there everyday as a reporter or contractor or some other job. They must maintain the fiction of their identity.

This is the biggest problem most authors will get into when writing spy fiction. The concept of telling lies is something that comes easily to most of us, the problem comes in with keeping up a fiction over a prolonged period of time. The next step is to be able to lie without guilt and throw over people who help you without remorse. Crafting that dual identity of a person who genuinely cares about their friends and allies versus the real one who… really doesn’t.

You need a solid grasp of social functions, mores, and conventions in order to write a spy because a spy is manipulating all those points to gain access. You also need to understand these rules change based on what society your character is entering. Social rules change based on social groups, be it economic or cultural. The expectations for a man or woman in Mexico City versus Seattle are vast, and your character needs to be versed in the world they’re walking into. They need a cover identity to suit their work. Someone who has the freedom to go many places without being questioned, but unimportant enough to be neither needed nor remembered.

A spy is always looking for a way in, to slide into your confidences or sympathies however they can. They are going to use you to get where they need to go. They are very convincing actors and they are changing, modifying themselves slightly for each person they encounter. Not so much though that their falseness becomes obvious to the other people who know them.

When we’re working with a female spy, for example, all the “bad woman” societal traits you’re inclined to throw away are exactly what she needs to succeed. She will flirt, and flatter, and seduce, and manipulate the men (and women) around her to gain entry. She may rotate between being a gorgeous woman and an unremarkable one by the use of fashion and makeup. She is exactly what so many men are afraid of, a social climber who is manipulating their feelings and her attractiveness in order to get what she wants because it is the most expedient method to get what she needs. The one who is manipulating society’s view of women as nonentities, nonthreatening/replaceable objects in order to do her job.

Don’t be afraid of these characters. Don’t be afraid of “unlikeable” characters.

Spies are bad people who do bad things. They are often cold, calculating, impersonal manipulators looking for the most expedient method to get what they need. Your spy’s cover is just a cover. Never forget the real person underneath, especially when they’re lying to themselves.

This is Nice

This is part one of my six part series titled ‘It’s A Lot Like Falling.’

Part II  Part III  Part IV  Part V  Part VI

Prompt: “It wouldn’t be the first time you broke a promise.”

Or, in this case: the longest hug in history.

Summary: Peter has been absent a lot lately. Ned and Reader are concerned. Basically: unreliable Peter/brand new Spider-man and confused/hurt Reader. Peter likes to leave notes when he messes up, because apologies are hard. This is the first part of a five part series titled: ‘It’s A Lot Like Falling,’ which has its own link in my bio.1.4k words.

Also, Ned is the biggest Peter x Reader shipper. He thinks it’s cute. He also thinks Peter is oblivious.

“Hey,” you asked, your fingers twisting to put in the last number of your combination, lock popping open, the door following suit, “you’re still coming over later, right?” Peter swapped out his Spanish book for his Chemistry text, closing his own locker and then spinning the combination to lock it back up. He walked over to you, leaning a shoulder into the locker next to your own, adjusting the sleeves of his sweater, pushing them up to his elbows before crossing his arms in front of him.

“We have to finish up that history project, you know,” you spoke around your door, peering around the side to see Peter looking down at his shoes, one sneakered toe pushing at a rogue pencil someone had dropped on the ground. You could already sense it coming, that heavy feeling of disappointment working its way up from your toes to mix with the contents in your stomach.  You finished swapping out your own textbooks, lightly closing the door, sighing as you tucked your binder close to your chest.

“Actually,” his hand was rubbing at the back of his neck, disturbing those curls you so loved, “I have-uh, I have a thing.”

A girl brushed past you in the hallway, bumping into your shoulder, almost causing you to drop your things. You tossed her a look, silently scolding her for her lack of manners. You adjusted to settle your weight on your shoulder, leaning into the door of your locker, looking up to see that Peter was now fumbling around with the edges of the notebook he held.

“You have a thing?”
