they can't even look at her most of the time

I think the most beautiful thing about Diana is that she doesn’t fight the patriarchy.  She just flat out doesn’t acknowledge that it exist.  A room where women aren’t allowed?  Gender rules about sleeping with someone? Bruce grabbing her arm in a power play?  Diana’s all just, you’re doing what now? She’s a Princess and a Goddess, so way more powerful than you on any kind of scale.  She’s just gonna lol in your face any time the patriarchy comes up because she’s the most powerful person in the room at any given time, so she doesn’t have time for men to mess around pretending they have a say in anything she does.

Aren’t they ashamed of lying such a obvious lie? Lmao we got a year of pap pics, there’s pics of Louis on her IG, there’s D on his IG…. and Elk out and about, far away from Louis for the whole year (and at the most rough time of Louis life too, not even close to him). That’s the most obvious lie ever, even the antis can’t deny it

PART 1: I actually can't stand Lucy, she is just so boring and dull. Someone I follow called her a "kindness marionette" and I've been doing my longest yea boi since. I've never seen people in this fandom take a serious critical look at Lucy. She is such a boring MC, and her power level (the joke that it is) was never properly or convincingly established to even respect her as a fighter. Really can't stand the character but she's fucking.every.where.

PART TWO: I know this isn’t a question per say but I had to get it out there. What are your thoughts on Lucy???

I’ve never found Lucy particularly inspiring. She started out as the reader’s POV character and then just spent most of the time being shunted to the side while Natsu hogged the glory. Her fights are pretty lacklustre because Mashima never seems to want to put much effort into them, and it’s hard to root for someone that you know is more likely to get stripped or degraded than really do anything cool.

Lucy suffers from the same issues most Fairy Tail characters do - she’s stagnant and doesn’t have a goal, so her character can never progress in any interesting ways and the most development she’s going to get is as a combatant. But since Mashima’s determined to keep her as “the rookie”, any progress she makes as a wizard is immediately going to be overshadowed by one of her comrades, which makes it hard to get invested in her progress as a fighter.

Plus, yeah - her role in any given arc is to play the tearjerker and just make you feel bad for any given antagonist at any given time, and any attempts to propel her into greater relevance tend to just come off as forced, i.e. the Eclipse Arc, which wasn’t even about her so much as it was that she happened to be a Celestial Spirit Mage.

And does she even know about Anna?

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t dislike Lucy at /all/. She can be pretty funny (in the Funimation dub, mostly), and I do generally want to see her succeed. Just, like… as soon as she finds something she wants to succeed at.

Even tho Lexa can't touch the GEC she would still stare at them a lot, especially since They would be all swelled up and stuff and Clarke would probably not wear a bra most of the time because who wants to take a bra off all the time to feed. Clarke would catch her too like "babe?" "Huh? Oh I was just....looking" "you miss them?" "No... maybe... yes" and Clarke just laughs and gently puts Lexa's hand on her boob "just don't squeeze too hard okay" and Clarke laughs and Lexa is happy.

Clarke is a giving soul

I hope you do! That’s so cute. I wish you both the best

Carmilla wakes up one afternoon and finds Laura curled up at her side, head on her chest, even though they've been keeping their distance. Laura is awake, but it takes Carmilla a minute to get her attention. Laura looks at her with a funny look on her face and says "You look really really dead when you're asleep. I can't even feel your heartbeat most of the time." Carmilla immediately pulls Laura's hand over her heart and holds it there, swearing to herself Laura will never almost lose her again

These idiots. I love them.

People saying they can’t trust Anora when their party is composed of:

  • a Qunari who killed an entire family with his bare hands
  • an Orlesian bard involved in the Great Game
  • an Antivan Crow, allegedly the most dangerous assassins in Thedas
  • a witch of the Wilds with dubious motives and no moral whatsoever
  • a disgraced Dwarf warrior who is drunk 100% of the time
  • a mage hosting a spirit who could potentially turn into an abomination any time for all we know

I just noticed that when Rick and Michonne are in bed after eating the apple, he looks at her lips before his eyes go up to look at her actual face. Like she starts talking and he's looking at her lips! He looks at them so longingly -it seems like he wasn't even focused on what she was saying lool. I really can't tell if that was acting or if Andy was just trying to hide his attraction to Danai and failing. Thoughts??

Hey there!

That is most definitely AL playing Rick to perfection, not trying to hide attraction. I know there are fans who see something between actors all the time, but I don’t think that’s happening in this case. It’s AL doing what he does best.

Even before Richonne were canon, AL wanted them to be together. He is a method actor and basically relates his own experiences to Rick when he is playing him. Every little mannerism, glance and touch is exactly what AL believes Rick would do. It shows Rick’s attraction to Michonne. AL plays it so well, like here:

They were having a serious conversation and you have Rick’s gaze falling from Michonne’s eyes to her lips and then chest. AL is brilliant at these little subtleties. It’s as if, for a moment, Rick was not focused on the words Michonne was saying, but rather, her beauty (just like in the scene you mentioned).

AL is an amazing actor and all of the Richonne goodness we have been given is because of his acting.

I will leave you with this from AL on working with DG in the intimate scenes (because she is amazing too):

I’ve been working alongside the brilliant, bright and superbly talented Danai Gurira for three-and-a-half years now. I’ve admired and respected her as a workmate. Also, it is part of the job description. It’s there in the small print… [Laughs] This is what we’re paid to do. Fortunately, I got such an amazing and beautiful leading lady... [x]

can't stop thinking about clingy alternate universe carmilla being like "we kissed? we're dating? we BANGED?" after laura explains everything to her. also can't stop thinking about her reaction after laura disappears and is gone from her life for the second time. the only thing keeping me sane is the fact that she technically doesn't even exist anymore

the most painful thing was probably hearing about the “what could have beens” and that some other Carmilla got that instead of her.

Seriously Lucy's sexualisation is starting to become ridiculous, she always was sexualized but oh my god in the latest chapters I can't even consider her as a proprer character. She's just a sex doll, she looks nothing like the Lucy of the beginning. Does Mashima really thinks that is what an attractive girl look like? I don't even want to respect her and her development since the author himself doesn't.

I agree the sexualisation of Lucy (and most of the female characters in FT) have become glaringly obvious lately.

But Mashima’s not gonna stop it any time soon, since it has continually gotten worse.

Lucy’s a great character in my opinion. Even when Mashima treats her badly with horrible, unnecessary angles, there’s still lots to her character that are very admirable. It outweighs the negative parts for me.

I think the only thing to do for fans like you and me is to do what women of fandom (or just fandoms in general) have long since done: take the characters and give them the development they DESERVE.

Because male authors - in manga and the world of novels - rarely give their female characters a great deal of respect. But that’s never stopped fandom before, and it won’t now.

Find a fandom corner that caters to your needs, or create it yourself.

I do believe Mashima treats his female characters a bit better than most though. It’s one of the reasons I fell for Fairy Tail in the first place.

Like how strong Erza was in the introduction and could easily kick Natsu and Gray’s asses. And everyone in Fairy Tail really looked up to her. And how Gray doesn’t care if it’s a woman or a child, he says he doesn’t go easy on anyone who hurts his friends. Which means he sees women as much of a threat as men can be. Or how Natsu himself regards Lucy as very strong and not to underestimate her when Gajeel doubted Lucy’s strength.

They’re already great female characters, it’s just recently Mashima’s gone overboard with the sexualisation that it’s hard for some people to take them seriously sometimes.

So yeah, we can only put our hope in fandom content, and who knows it might reach Mashima and help him improve.
