they burm

6

Amphibian and reptile club was amazing today! A local breeder came in and brought eight snakes! As they were passed around, I didn’t get a picture of half of them including the blood python, or the carpet python, the boa, and one more that I don’t quite remember. It had a reddish orange belly though and was on the large side. The white lipped python and the baby carpet python were extraordinarily tame though! Apparently they’re usually super aggressive but they were passed around by like half a dozen people and were still super chill. I hung on to that hypo burm baby as long as I could. She was so cute!
The Brazilian rainbow boa really liked my pant hem, and the blood was a real wrapper.
(Id never really had the chance to hold a snake- that Argentine boa was the first one I held! Thankfully he was pretty chill!)

Okean

Ogrmona, beskrajna smrtnicima, silna, opasna i savršena.

A ja sam ćutao.

2 godine kasnije, stiže mi pismo. ,,Sin je. Ime mu je Mateja. S ljubavlju, okean". A ja sam plakao"- instagram: @obecao_si, S.M.

Granite Madness

Top two pictures are of our Female Granite Burmese Python Hot Cocoa and the bottom two are of our Male Albino Granite Macaroni. I’m in love with Cocoa’s neck nonsense!

And the burm nation as well! (All animals pictured above belong to me)
The Lacey act is complete bs, because of one state we lose all ability to cross state line, transport, and export these beautiful creatures on the thought that they “may be injurious” to native wildlife. That state should suffer the consequence of only having their animals with permits, etc. but to make the whole country suffer is unbelievable. People are going to lose lively hoods, snakes are going to start to be inbred, and the passion of owning reptiles is slowly going to die. They’re coming for boas next, you were lucky this time but you won’t be next time, then they’re going to come for your ball pythons and so on and so forth. If the reptile community came together we will be able to defend each other and be a stronger family to fight for our love in reptiles! To help end this ban, educate others, show passion for them and support each other if you own a large constrictor or not, and donate to trustworthy campaigns who are helping us save our animals such as USARK!

An important sign at the expo: “Please be aware that these cages are NOT the full time residences of these animals, they are in the smaller containers so that they might be transported here and put on display for your close up viewing.”

Reptile expos aren’t just for buying and selling. There’s a lot you can learn at one and I think it’s great they had an adult Burm (15'8") there for people to see what those pretty little babies grow up like. Seeing these animals up close promotes responsible ownership- hearing “they get big” and seeing one for yourself are two very different things! Remember when you see show pictures: those small spaces are NOT their homes. They’re just temporary space.
