they became magical girls

Plans

Just a little James and Sharna proposal one shot. It’s maybe the cutest thing I’ve ever written. I kinda stole the idea for the end from the song “Olivia Mae” by Brett Young which is absolutely one of the best songs I’ve ever heard. Just genius and beautiful.

It was a normal night for them. Curled up on the couch, Sharna half asleep, James mindlessly flipping through channels. Sharna jumped, startled when James turned to a particularly loud tv show.

“Sorry,” he said at once. “Here.” He turned off the tv. “Get some sleep.”

“Upstairs.”

“Not tonight, honey.” Sharna could hear the smile in his voice. “I’m just not in the mood.”

“Funny,” she murmured.

“I try.”

They were quiet again and Sharna forced herself to wake up. She sat up, crossed her legs under herself, and turned to face him. He watched her with interest.

“What?” he said as she stared at him.

She smiled. “Tell me a story.”

Gems CAN Reproduce

So, I don’t think it’s a huge secret that Steven universe is heavily inspired by anime. In particular, Puella Magi Madoka Magica was one of the leading inspirations for a lot of the ideas behind the gem race

Like gems, mahou shojou in Madoka are more than your average magical girls. For starters, their body isn’t really the thing that contains their mind and soul, that’s found in their soul gems, magical crystals that are actually the real individual

In addition, when a magical girl in madoka becomes severely emotionally unhinged and her mind starts to break down, she and her gem become corrupted and turn into a monster as was confirmed in Monster Reunion.

A number of literal and thematic similarities were noted upon long before Monster Reunion came out, to the point that from as early as season one people had figured out that Gems became corrupted the same way as Magical Girls to the point that the theory was actually called “The Madoka Method”

However, a stray thought today made me start to wonder if there might be another layer of reference in the series that I didn’t notice before: The notion that certain gems may be capable of asexual reproduction WITHOUT mechanical assistance.

In Madoka, the corrupted magical girls referred to as Witches were never seen alone. Many of them had the ability to create entities called Familiars. Many gems in the show, such as Centipeetle were able to create “familiars” of their own.

However, in Madoka, the familiars presented a special danger: while they did not have soul gems themselves, if they were not caught and killed they would eventually grow one of their own and become a witch in their own right.

Oddly enough, we may have seen this exact mechanic in play in the show. Notice Centipeetle’s babies up there? Look at the the drawings she made of her crew in Monster Reunion

Notice how her whole crew, who followed her orders, were smaller than her and didn’t have the same mane of white hair that she did. I immediately assumed that these were her familiars, but then dropped it at the end when we met the two other full centipeetles, but what if I was right all along?

I think those WERE her familiars, and I think over 5000 years they managed to become their own gems!

Doesn’t it seem like to many weird coincidences? That a gem who could create servants was a captain? That her underlings later turned out to be identical to her despite not having looked like her in the past? That her species just happens to be based on a type of monster that does the same thing?

And you know what the weirdest thing about all of this is? There’s actually one uncorrupted gem we’ve met that had the power to generate familiars from the same holographic material as her own body and which could persist and function even when she was poofed: The one gem who takes an active role as a mother

Holo Pearl is a familiar!

Oh, is that too much of a stretch for you? How about the fact that in the concept art for The Answer that was posted on Ian’s Tumblr, the low-end pearls present at the meeting looked almost identical to Holo-Pearl!

Okay yeah, this film is probably about Homura and Madoka, then.

I wonder if, like, Homura will try to find a way to bring Madoka back, somehow? I mean… I’m pretty sure Madoka stopped existing in all timelines as a human, and became some sort of guardian angel deity for Magical Girls across all time and space. Hmm… I mean, if Homura can find a way to keep that wish going on, and have Madoka around, that’d be fine and dandy, I suppose.

Archer (Kogil/Child Gilgamesh)

Gilgamesh as a young boy. Using the potion of youth found within his Gate of Babylon, the king of heroes turned himself into a child to better fit in with the modern world during the interim period between the Fourth Holy Grail War and the Fifth.

Compared to his old self, Gilgamesh in his youth was tolerant and fair to those he ruled over and was lauded as an excellent king.

In an alternate universe somewhere in the Kaleidoscope, he became allies with the magical girl known as Prisma Illya, helping her on her quest to find those that kidnapped her friend, Miyu.

Weekly Magical Girl 3: Weiss Winterprison

I’m about one day too late for a “Weekly” Magical Girl, but I think I can still cover it, hehe! Anyways, this week’s Magical Girl will cover Weiss Winterprison!

Weiss Winterprison is the eternal protector. She’s pretty damn strong for a Magical Girl too, easily ranking number 4 in a straight up physical fight. So let’s find out what makes Winterprison tick, shall we?

like seriously i read that summary of “Go! Princess Precure” and it’s like “this literally sounds like Akio Ohtori’s fanfic version of his life” it’s going to be really hard watching the show and not seeing it as that.

Like this is what Akio would fanfic his story as: “so i met this girl and she was like totes inspired by me and wanted to be a PRINCESS NOT A PRINCE DEFINITELY NOT SHE KNEW HER PLACE and she became a magical girl who fell in love with me and defeated (my sister) the evil witch and they definitely did not both dump me to date each other the end”.

god what if i watch the show pretending it’s that. what if i liveblog it from Akios pov. CAN I RESIST.

therealprincessofpot  asked:

Ok, I watched rebellion. Is Madoka now forever trapped with Homura? She is the only salvation the magical girls have. Why can't Homura see that? Is it the desire consuming her? Will she let her go? Why can't Madoka just leave & connect with her full power?

I knew I would be getting these questions since a lot of fans find it hard to understand just why that scene happened at the end.

First, know that Madoka, law of cycles, and madokami are different.

Seeing as at the end of the anime, Madoka’s existence finished and she fused with her wish(The law of cycles) to become Madokami and not to let Puella Magi’s in the entire world become witches. Know that Madoka and the law of cycles are two separate identities. Their sum makes up Madokami. Madoka wish was “I wish to erase the existence of all witches, in the past, present, and future, WITH MY OWN HANDS”.  That latter part of her wish, resulted in her death(existence being erased from the world, no body being left behind, as well as no one having the slightest bit knowledge of her existence, except for Homura). But, that’s where she fused with her wish. You see, the law of cycles is the personification of Madoka’s wish, not Madoka herself. Madoka fused with her WISH(the law of cyles) and became Madokami.

Look

In this scene, Homura tore up “MADOKAMI”. She was able to get Madoka back, and the law of cycles drifted back in to the vast universe.

Your question, “Is Madoka now forever trapped with Homura?

Is Madoka trapped? Yes, until the inevitable sequel comes out, she is inside Homura’s barrier.

“She is the only salvation the magical girls have. Why can’t Homura see that?”.

She CAN see that. But as I have explained above, it is not Madoka who is the salvation, it is thee Law of cycles. Since that law of cycles is still present, it is still a salvation. Puella Magi’s don’t exist in the new world, only despair does. It was the job of LOC to save the magical girls before they became witches. In Homura’s world, Incubators take care of despair as directed by Homura. There isn’t much difference. It’s just that in the new world, girls aren’t tricked into forming contracts, the incubators are forced to clean the world. So basically, this is a better salvation for the ENTIRE WORLD. The laws of the new world are more efficient and effective in cleansing the world from despair, then Madoka’s world was. Madokami just took magical girls away, Homura isDIRECTLY finishing up despair from this world as quickly as possible. She is the salvation for the whole world this way.

“Why can’t Madoka connect with her full power and leave?” you say.

No, Homura won’t allow that. Madoka can’t do that unless she recovers her memories, and how can she do that when Homura will wipe them? Now, this brings us to why Homura did what she did. Why did she dethrone Madokami?

The only reasons people can come up with is “AI YO”.

The thing is, people can only see what’s laid out infront of them, no one bothers to look at “WHY” and “HOW”.

Homura did because of her love for Madoka, but let us take a look at the other reasons shall we?

This

Yes, I know that the Madoka who said this wasn’t aware that she was a God. But, these were the true feelings of Madoka. Evidence for the fact is here

Madoka becoming a God was a last minute decision BECAUSE THERE WAS NO OTHER OPTION. If there was, Madoka would’ve never ever left her family and friends. The thing is, an episode earlier, Homura told Madoka the TRUTH. Her having repeated the timelines 100 times to try to save Madoka from her inevitable fate. People are under the impression that in this scene, Madoka did it for all the puella magis, whereas she did it for Homura. She did it, to end Homuras mission, to end her suffering. Not because, “lol, i wud b so hppy rulin teh worldz”.

Otherwise, Madoka would’ve never left anyone if there was something else she could do. That is another reason for why homura dethroned her. So that Madoka could be with her family and friends. Madoka had to make that decision. Her own feelings of being with her family did not matter anymore because otherwise the same thing that happened in other timelines would’ve happened here too. Madoka DOES want to be with her family. Circumstances did not favour her own wish though.

Another reason, and the biggest most important reason, was to save her from Kyubey and his gang. Look

Madoka DOES want to be with her family. Circumstances did not favour her own wish though.

Another reason, and the biggest most important reason, was to save her from Kyubey and his gang. Look

Homura’s own personal state was pathetic, she didn’t deserve it. But she didn’t care, because she wanted Madoka to be safe. That’s why she dethroned her, to end her job as a God, and take it herself. She never wanted Madoka to be a part of all this witch business. She wanted Madoka to be as far away from it as possible.

Another reason for why she dethroned her, It was to fulfill her wish. Her wish to protect Madoka. Madoka was already dead in the first timeline. She couldn’t wish to protect her, how can you protect a dead person. That’s why she wished “TO GO BACK IN TIME”. Therefore, her wish was “to go back in time”, but her TRUE wish was to save and protect Madoka. She forced to word her wish like that. Only by going back in time, she could save Madoka.

I wish to redo my meeting with kaname-san. Instead of being someone who is protected by her. I want to become someone who protects her!”

Homura’s wish was never truly granted until the end of rebellion, when she granted it herself.

This reason for dethroning is completely different from the “AI YO” one. The “Ai Yo” one was the one where she just can’t live without Madoka. The mere fact that she’s even breathing makes Homura happy. The reason that I stated above is the first and the truest most initial feelings of Homura, to protect Madoka. When madoka became God, Homura’s wish wasn’t granted, because even then, it was Madoka protecting homura as well as all the puella magis in the world. She dethroned her to fulfill her wish, to finally be the one protecting Madoka and not being the one protected. All these are the solid proof as to why Homura tore her apart.

This was not abuse, this was saving Madokami. All the above reasons show that her doing this wasn’t abuse, it was the response of Homura towards Madoka’s truest feelings, her own wish, and saving her from the incubators.

Had she not done, death to all peulla magis and madokami would’ve happened. I’ve mentioned it above. The dethronement part was not abuse or the stuff that happened after it, it was a way better ending then the alternative and inevitable one I’ve stated above. It’s all about the ending. A happy ending is not always the one in which the lovers reunite, it’s one in which most of the warriors were able to come out alive. Every ones alive and safe in the ending. Even Sayaka and Nagisa were given another chance at life. This lead to Kyoko and Mami being happy as well.

So this is why dethronement happened.

So, now for your last unanswered question, “Is it desire that is consuming Homura?”. No, no at all.  So here is the part where basically, “AI YO” comes.

What tainted Homura’s soulgem, what she final came to terms with at the end, what she was basically feeling, her truest most feelings, they were of LOVE. Nothing but true love. Look

It was neither “desire”, nor “obsession”. Never was, still isn’t, never will be.

It was Love. It was later confirmed by Homura as well.

Evidence? Here

“Perhaps you’ll become my enemy someday as well. But I don’t care, because even then, I will continue to wish for a world in which you will be happy”.

She did rather be the victim of of Madoka’s possible wrath than end up being the abuser herself. Even then, she would only wish for Madoka’s happiness. Homura’s not afraid. She’s not sad, she is just content. She knows that one day, all of this is going to shatter like a fragile glass. She knows it. She is just delaying the inevitable. In other words, she is prolonging everyone’s happiness and safety.

Evidence for happiness, safety and protection?

She is safe and sound, and happy, with her family in the end.

Homura does not want to let Madoka go. Not because she is a selfish bitch, but because she wants to grant the true wish of Madoka which was to be with her family and friends. Proof for this is that at the end, Homura is the only one who is actually alone. Look

What she wants, is Madoka’s happiness and safety. What she wants, is for Madoka to live and die like a normal person.

This isn’t intended to hate against Madoka’s world or anything, but rather to defend against the accusation that everything got worse with Rebellion’s ending. While most tended to see it as a dark, edgy, or bad ending, I would look at the scene where “a happy ending” and “not yet” osts play and think of it as a new beginning. As of now, PMMM has started with even a greater beginning. The story has so such potential at this stage now.

This is what PMMM is about. Friendship and Hope.

Both the main heroines desire the happiness of the other so much that both don’t care what happens to them in the process.  This is story was about tragic friendship, and as of now, it’s about tragic Love.

So hopefully, this destroys some illegitimate arguments about Homura doing everything wrong, and this also answers your questions.

Try to think about everything in depth. Try to understand “why” and”how”. Try to look at things from Homura’s perspective.

That said, please give our new ruler a chance!
