Master   Part 15

The airport was packed, the buzz of excitement filling the air as people returned from their winter vacations, back from Fiji or Cancun or somewhere there was no snow. College students hugged their parents, either coming or going to or from school for the holiday; parents said goodbye to grandparents as they flew back to their Florida townhouses. Lovers, kissing cheeks and whispering in ears, making promises to Skype or FaceTime until they could be together again.

Standing at the big windows, watching as a flight landed on the airstrip, crowded between some of these lovers and college students and grandparents, your palms were sweaty as you waited near the baggage claim, waiting for a familiar suitcase to come down the tracks. Alone, fidgeting with the ends of one of Steve’s sweaters from college (NYU displayed proudly in royal blue on the front) you waited, counting the suitcases and handbags as they passed by.

You had been back from Fiji for two months, you were finally getting settled in your and Bucky’s new place.   That was a strange concept, your and Bucky’s place.  You sneak a peek at the diamond placed on your left hand.  Grinning at it you think back to when Bucky gave it to you.

Standing on the beach you look into Bucky’s eyes, while the Justice of the Peace spoke about love and commitment.   This wasn’t how you imagined your wedding.  Bucky seemed to be the only part that was accurate to your daydreams.  When it came down to it, all your daydreams didn’t matter, all that mattered was the fact that Bucky was by your side.  So with the breeze in your hair and the sea behind you, you and Bucky professed your love for each other.

“You lookin’ at that ring again?”  Bucky chuckles shaking his head at you slightly before placing the box in his hands down.

“I can’t help it. It’s perfect.”  You move over to the box he just placed on the floor, pulling out your old yearbook.

Bucky comes to stand behind you and places his chin on your shoulder pulling the book out of your hands and tossing it back in the box.  Kissing your neck he wraps his arms around you.  “Why did you have to invite them over tonight?  Why can’t it just be you and me.  I have waited over 10 years to have you as my wife and I have to share you with our friends.”

You laugh and turn in his arms wrapping your arms around his neck before kissing his nose. “10 years huh?  So you’ve wanted to marry me since we were 15 years old?”

“Sure did sweets.” Letting you go and walking to the box behind you, he digs through it, and pulls out what your recognize as his old yearbook.   Flipping through it quickly he hands you the open book.

Pairing(s):
Harry/Louis, Zayn/Louis

Word Count:  26347

Summary:
“I need to go somewhere,” Louis exclaims, standing up, brushing the dirt off of his jeans and wiping the tears from his eyes. “Somewhere far away from Harry so I can get my thoughts together without him interfering.” He won’t be able to figure anything out when he knows that Harry’s going to be constantly groveling, trying to gain Louis’s forgiveness before Louis has a chance to decide what his next step is.

Zayn stands beside him, leaning his shoulder against the wall and raising an eyebrow. “Somewhere like?” he asks and Louis shrugs, kicking at the ground. He hadn’t exactly gotten that far in his thought process yet. “Well,“ Zayn continues, straightening his stance, "We’ve got about a day and a half left to do nothing, so if you’re gonna run away, I suggest you do it now.”

Louis sighs, turning back towards the hotel. The two of them slowly start to make their way back inside, Zayn trailing behind Louis closely. Back in the elevator, Louis bites his lip and looks over at Zayn, shoving his hands in his pockets and leaning back on his heels.

“How far is Fiji from here?”

-or, Harry breaks Louis and Zayn’s there to pick up the pieces.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JEAN SIMMONS! (January 31, 1929 - ∞)

“A dream… a fantastically talented and enormously underestimated girl. In terms of talent she is so many head and shoulders above most of her contemporaries, one wonders why she didn’t become the great star she could have been… It’s true, it’s not that important to her. It doesn’t matter to her much."  - Joseph L. Mankiewicz

"Every man I would meet would say to me, ‘I have always loved your wife.’ ” - Richard Brooks, Simmons’ second husband.

“I’ve got some lovely memories,” she told me. “I remember coming back from the Fiji Islands on the Queen Mary after we’d made The Blue Lagoon. I travelled with Eleanor Roosevelt and she gave me a bunch of violets. I was so thrilled. I was just 18. I’ve had a lovely life. Not bad for a kid from Cricklewood.”- Jean Simmons, in an interview.

Ficlet: Santana, a new and upcoming singer, is out for lunch with her wife famous head choreography, Brittany

Brittany and Santana our sitting in their favorite Bistro, on their first day back from Fiji. Brittany is looking at the menu and glance at her wife. Santana is looking down and is sporting a scowl accompanied by her arms crossed.

Brittany speaks, “Honey, what’s wrong?”

Santana’s eyes shoot up from the ground, “How do the paparazzi even know we were coming here?! We decided this like 2 hours ago?! Do they install some tracking device in our skin? Like some Hunger Games type deal? I will hire a full team of detectives to do an extensive investigation on this. Mark my words.”

Brittany tries to bite down a smile, not wanting to upset the riled up Latina.

“Baby,” Brittany whispers. Before speaking again she slowly reaches for one of Santana’s arms. Knowing the anticipation of her skin touching her wife’s will calm her down. Her idea seemed to  have worked. Once her hand reaches one of Santana’s arms, Santana’s face soften and her arms fall on the table.

Brittany speaks up again, “Don’t let them ruin our date. You seemed so excited earlier.”

“I am. It’s just…” Santana lets out a sigh. “I guess we were so spoiled during our honeymoon with no interruptions and now we have to deal with this crap again.”

Brittany pouts, “I know sweetie. I miss the privacy too. But you’re going on tour soon, so am I, and our sexy self just got married. Hell we are a hot piece of action in the TMZ world.”

Santana cracks a sly smile. Brittany takes the opportunity to lighten the mood even more. “You look really badass in your outfit today.” Brittany says as she wiggles her eyebrows.

Santana lets out a happy laugh that Brittany loves so much. “I’m sorry I was too jet-lagged to unpack all my clothes yesterday.” she says sarcastically.

Brittany giggles, “Well, luckily for you I find your comfy clothes sexy and cute.”

“Oh please baby, that’s how you always see me.” Santana says with a wink. Brittany laughs and agrees with her wife.

Santana takes Brittany’s hands in her own as her thumb slowly drags across Brittany’s rings. Smiling at the memories that came along with it. Brittany is smiling as well at the gesture.

Brittany breaks the moment, “So how about we forget the paparazzi and enjoy our mini date? And then we can have dessert at our place where there are no paparazzi.” she seductively smiles.

Santana’s smile grows, “I’d be highly pissed and concerned if there were.” The newlyweds laugh. “You’re right though. Lets enjoy our time together. I’ll lock up Snix for now, but if those assholes do any…” before she could finish Brittany jumps in, “I will personally give you the keys to her cage and give her a weapon of her choosing.” Santana laughs and nods to agree with those terms and conditions.

After they finish their meals, they walk to the “private” exit. Santana closes her eyes and sighs, “Here we go.” Before she could walk out, Brittany grabs her wife’s sunglasses and places it on her face, giving her a lingering kiss.

Santana looks to her wife with a confused expression. Brittany simply shrugs her shoulders and says, “I feel like sunglasses are a way of telling the paparazzi to fuck off.”

Santana smiles widely and shakes her head as they both walk out
