Mary and Frederik had front row seats, at Denmark’s biggest fundraising event, Danmarks Indsamling (Denmark’s Collection), on Saturday evening:
The Crown Prince couple arrived at the cruise ship terminal in Copenhagen, where the show took place, shortly before 9 pm and took their seats on the front row among a large group of very happy high school students.
During the event, Crown Princess Mary and Crown Prince Frederik also had time to talk to some of the high school students who were sitting next to them.
From their seats Crown Princess Mary and Crown Prince Frederik clearly enjoyed themselves and were laughing and smiling as they applauded the many different acts. Among the performers were the Christiansborg All Stars, a band formed for the night of Danish politicians from different political parties.
The purpose of the collection is to raise money for some of the poorest countries in the world to help them reach the eight FN 2015 goals. The event, which takes place annually, has existed since 2007 and is always broadcast live on the Danish television channel DR1.
This year, the Denmark’s Collection raised more than 101 million Danish kroner.
