- Is it because of all the stuff that happened when he first came? - No. Nothing from the past. I don’t like him for what’s about to happen. I have a feeling that pretty soon… he’s going to take something I’ve cared about for a very long time.
I know I already told you (but that doesnt matter because Im sure you dont remember me) that I love how you draw Stan. And... basically everything else. I figured you draw everything in special shapes! I for myself try to draw more in shapes for drawing pracitce and not with these skeletons. You are really good at this! Maybe if you have time and if you want to, could you give me/us a small toturial? And maybe you dont even draw with shapes and its just me haha... Thank! :3
Thank you! But oh gosh, I really am the last person you should ask for a tutorial. I don’t think I have any conscious technique to it, I just sort of wing it. But I’m gonna try my best to explain my thoughts on different body types and how I draw them! I don’t draw shapes in the way I think you mean. At least I’m guessing you’re referring to something like this:
While I think this could actually be a pretty good way to go about it, this isn’t how I work. What I do is, I draw a rough outline of the character using a thick brush. Let’s take the sketch and line art of this drawing of Stan as an example:
So as you can see, there’s no real shapes or help lines or anything like that. But what I can tell you is this: when I draw bodies I always try to make them as dynamic as possible! My tip for drawing bodies is EXAGGERATE, EXAGGERATE, EXAGGERATE! Exaggerate the body types of different characters to add variety! Exaggerate different parts of the same character to make them more dynamic!
Since we’re on the topic of Stan, let’s talk about Stan and Ford. Identical twins with different body shapes? You can bet your sweet ass I’m gonna exaggerate those two in completely different directions! Identical twins are like the holy grail of character design practice - take two characters with the same face and see just how different you can make them! Let’s draw a quick doodle of the Stan twins:
Even in the rough outline you can clearly tell who’s who just from their body shapes. If you want to practice drawing different body types, I highly recommend trying to make the characters distinct from each other at the earliest possible stage of your drawing. Try to make it so that even from a rough sketch with no facial features or clothes you’ll still be able to tell which character is which!
Why am I going on about this? Because body shapes should not be treated as an afterthought! They need to be there, right from the beginning, right from the very first draft! I quite often see people draw fat characters that just look… odd. And you know why they look odd? Because it looks like the artist just sketched an average person and then added some chub during the line art process. Human bodies don’t really work like that! Unless we’re talking like a beer belly here, then the fat will be more evenly distributed across at least part of the body. This affects things like breadth of shoulders and hips, in other words the very frame of the body. If you’re a cartoonist, just adding some chub to a sketch of an average frame will never get a result that is as good and dynamic as a character than was drawn as fat from the very first draft (and this is why I think working from shapes can be very beneficial!).
Okay, so drawing different body types requires both planning and variety. But how do I go about designing a body? Well, personally, I work a lot with contrast, not only between different characters, but also within a single character. Since we’re on the subject of the Stan twins, let’s talk about Ford a bit. Ever wondered why I draw him with the same skinny legs as Stan, even though they’re thicker than his in canon? Well, part of it is because I draw them as identical and thus their fat distribution would work in the same way. But more importantly, it’s because my art style relies heavily on contrast in order to make characters appear as dynamic as possible!
I often draw characters like this – where one half of the body is broad/thick and the other narrow/thin. Let’s refer to it as ‘horizontal exaggeration’.
But what if I want to draw a character that is thin or thick all over? Can I still make them exaggerated and dynamic? Heck yeah, I can! Let’s talk about, uh, let’s call it ‘vertical exaggeration’! On the average human being, the midpoint of the body is at crotch level. Playing around with this midpoint helps a lot with making cartoony body types more dynamic!
Want to draw an overall thin character? Putting their crotch line higher up than usual will help emphasize how gangly they are. Meanwhile, a fat or stocky character is often drawn with a lower crotch line to help emphasize their girth.
In summary… I don’t really have any special techniques to teach anyone, but I really want to encourage people not to be afraid to exaggerate when it comes to body shapes! Exaggerate horizontally! Exaggerate vertically! Make those bodies weird and dynamic! I realize this is more of a rambling mess then a tutorial, but, uh… I hope someone might have found this helpful?
And last but not least… Don’t worry if you can’t draw different body types just yet – just keep drawing and practicing and you’ll get the hang of it eventually! I think a lot of us have been at that stage where we were only able to draw skinny characters. Let’s take a look at how I drew bodies 8 and a half years ago and end this with a laugh!
If I can move past this stage, then so can all of you! Just keep drawing, keep practicing, and most of all, keep having fun doing it! Good luck!
ummm wtf that was so cute? They use their Inside Voices, Phil cursed, and there was so much eyelash pruning that I can't even be mad that they're all from the new flat 10/10
all of this all of this, i mean i couldve done without the ones they’d already included in vids, but im LIVING for everything else. the mutual eyelash grooming was fantastic and shows just how comfortable they are stepping into each others’ space without any announcement or reservation and i love how long they spend checking their hair and reassuring each other it looks good and i love how they’ll both take it in turns to tell each other when to redo something and i love how gorgeous their off camera voices are and omg the part where dan makes the ‘i love putting shells up my ass’ comment and phil does his very on-camera ‘wtf’ reaction but then immediately laughs afterwards and then they both basically acknowledge that maybe it was over the line and theyll have to reevaluate whether they want to keep it in (and then they decided they wanted to???? amazing????) and also the end bit when dan’s the one that spilled but phil is the one who immediately moves to clean it up and to go find something to wipe it with (also phil in those shorts and phil swearing even if it was bleeped .. nice) .. damn im rly happy with that whole thing in general. we’ve all been blessed
How are you so good at taking the colors/traits from Undertale and manipulating so well? Jessica gaining back her INTEGRITY from Papyrus, who turns people blue. Asriel, who's eyes turn from a green KINDNESS to a black HATE. The FEAR that you somehow managed to create using pink. It's just amazing how you are able to utilize all these colors, and I can't wait to see what you have in store after this hiatus. Thank you for everything, Camila, and keep doing what you do.
That’s what 2 months of plot-development look like bro
Yo hey u fab artist u, I gotta a question. Um, I kinda want to start an artblog but I don't really do digital art, and I think not all of ur art is digital, so how do u get good quality pics of traditional art? When I try to take pictures it looks fuzzy, and u can't really see the lines that well, or its just bad quality and then I don't want to post it. Any tips on how to fix that?
Hey you, fab anon!
It’s great that you want to start your own art blog. I think every artist should do that, even if they think they’re not good enough, because, after a while, your followers and even yourself will be able to see how much you’ve improved and the best part is that they can be witnesses of your growth.
As you said, most of my art is traditional; I love black and white drawings with ink and coloring with comic markers, and, to be honest, it’s a huge challenge to get the digital image to look as good as the original piece.
I don’t usually “take pictures” of them. I use a scanner connected to a pc or a laptop where I edit them using photoshop. I you use photoshop, it’s important to know how to use the infinite editing options that the program offers.
Start with the image adjustments and play with the options there; learn what each of them do to your piece and think of how do you want to turn out. Do you want to change the colors? Or do you want to look as much as possible as your original piece?
An usual problem is that the whites aren’t as white as the paper so you can use ‘levels’ to fix that, even to darken the colors as much as you want, making the contrast more visible.
To fix the colors (if they’re not as cool as on your original piece) use ‘selective color’ to fix each color separately: reds, yellows, greens… even neutrals, blacks and whites. Be careful to not to change them too much, being subtle is better.
If you see that your image is too yellowish or too blueish use 'color balance’ to fix it (remember to use the complementary color to do it).
If you’re not happy with the results, I encourage you to keep playing around with the options! If you’re inexperienced I assure you that you will improve in no time.
It is true that some times I take pictures of them, the stickers I make, for example. If you don’t own a scanner you will have to use a camera to show your art to the rest of the world. My first advice: don’t try to use it as a scanner, don’t try to take pictures to make them look like you scanned them, all straight and from above the piece. For aesthetic purposes, you can set the materials you used to create your art next to it, like pencils, pens, markers…
The key is to try to make your pictures as bright as possible and the colors vibrant. If you can get to make the picture clear enough to to make the strokes of the pen, marker or brush, visible, even better. Because that is what is so cool about traditional art, that you don’t have to fake the texture of the paint or the paper.
The most important things:
Light! Take the picture during day light. Use a lamp if you feel like you need to to fill the shadows from the opposite side of the window, but have in mind that natural light will give you a blueish color on the paper while the bulb light will add a yellowish one.
Editing! If you use your phone to take the picture I’m sure you will have some apps to edit pictures. Try to turn up the exposure and the contrast to make the whites even whiter and the blacks even blacker xD
Filters! If your drawing is a black and white piece you can alway try to use a b/w filter!
And the most important thing: CLEAN THE LENSES before taking the picture! It has happened to me before that the camera was filthy and it took me a while to realice why my pictures were so shitty lmao.
Sadly, in the end, the quality of your camera has a lot to do with the final results.
I hope this will help you! And if you start your art blog, don’t forget to send me the link because i will love to follow it!!
Just some funny/sexy starters where one or both of the muses involved are some kind of monster! I tried to keep things vague so it's mun's choice as to what monster you are! (feel free to add more if you want!)
"Don't you dare bite me, you --!!"
"Eww, it's all slimy..."
"Holy shit, is that what you really look like?"
"Why do you smell so good?"
"I don't care how many you have, just take me to bed."
"Well, I didn't consider fucking something like a squid *before*..."
"I know you're hungry, but I'm not food."
"Okay, let's just get home before this gets any stronger..."
"I can't help it, you're so soft..."
"No, not in this form."
"I don't care if it's wrong, I'm fucking it."
"You ever wanted to be a [mom/dad]?"
"Great, now my [mom/dad/rommate] thinks I'm into bestiality."
"Won't you dry out?"
"Aren't you frightened of me?"
"I've gone beyond scared and entered the realm of 'strangely turned on'."
"You ever wonder if you're gonna look back at your life and be ashamed of what [you fucked/let fuck you]?"
"Don't pull out."
"I'm not sure if it's gonna fit, but my momma didn't raise no quitter."
"Sorry, was I supposed to be surprised you're a [species here]?"
"... I was hoping for a better reveal."
"Fuck me... no, really, fuck me!"
"That's definitely not normal..."
"I need someone to carry my [offspring]."
"I'm offended that I wasn't your first choice to carry your [offspring]..."
"Great, I've got sucker marks all over me."
"I can see the headlines now:
'[Man/Woman/etc] meets an alien species -- Welcomes it to Earth by fucking it.'"
Please Snooze! I need your help! I've been trying to draw all cool like you, but I can't figure out ears! Like how do you make them look so perfect and like they actually fit the character and Pokemon!? Like how would you draw a cat one? Like Meowth or Espurr?? Or what about a Pikachu or Raichu?! I don't understand! Plz send help...
that’s the basics of how i personally go about figuring out animal ears! for translating pokemon ears -> animal ears, look up real life animals the pokemon could be based on / is similar to and take inspiration from that! anyway good luck anon! hope this helped!
is how loving chevy is actually being. I mean, ignore Philippe’s Extraness™ (or as I like to call it his I’m-A-Sexy-Tiger-Grrr look) for a second and pay attention to Chevy. He’s cradling Philippe.
He’s so gentle. He’s also, most likely, quite drunk at this point in the night. With his defences and guard down, and the part of his brain reminding him how he needs other people to see him and therefore how he should act (as in what part of him he should hide) eradicated with alcohol, he is acting purely on who he is, how he feels, and what he wants to do. So this is the most realistic view of him in such a public space. And what do we see?
And to be perfectly honest, I think that’s what really hurts the most to Henriette. Her discomfort/embarrassment due to Philippe’s actions are obvious, but I think what causes her to look like this
is because she sees how much Chevy loves Philippe. It hurts not because she wants that with Philippe. Not because that is her husband who is being loved by someone else. Not because everyone there can take one look and see exactly what she sees and know exactly what she knows. I think it hurts because Philippe has something that she never will. He has someone who will love him like that in a place like this.
tl;dr: Chevy’s love for Philippe is so pure and so much that it hurts other people to watch sometimes
Companions react to childrens' awe after they act heroic

The children of the settlement watched in awe as the companion took down 6 raiders at once. Sole wasn't there, and all of the turrets were down, so it was up to them to protect the settlement alone. A little girl around the age of six almost got bludgeoned when she came out of hiding to get her teddy bear. Before she got so much as a bruise, the companion swooped in and killed the nasty raider. They patted the girl's head before giving her back her teddy bear. They told her to get back into hiding, and the companion went back into the firefight. (The ones that can speak/pat heads anyways) When the very last raider was down, the companion collapsed on the ground, exhausted. They only got a second to breath though. As soon as they could, every child from the settlement tackled the companion. They called them awesome and cool while giving the companion hugs, or high fives.
Ada: "That is quite enough children. You are welcome, but I really need to get back to my duties." The kids keep pestering poor Ada until she relents and answers a few questions. She only stays long enough for the children to be satisfied with the answers they got. She leaves to go hide somewhere while she runs a diagnostics on herself.
Cait: She felt pretty good about herself up until she thought the kids were getting to annoying. "Alright kids. That's enough. Bugger of now!" She almost felt bad about sending them away, but the kids didn't seem to mind as they were acting out what had just happened. That made Cait glad. She wouldn't even want to think about what Sole would do to her if she made a kid cry.
Codsworth: "By jove!" Codsworth was surprised when he got knocked down by the children. He just sat there slightly dumbfounded as to why the children were so awe-struck. He kindly answered any questions they had until the kids got bored and moved on to play at the playground. Though he could see the little girl he saved sporting a bowler hat identical to Codsworth' later that day. If he had a face, he would've smiled.
Curie: She was very pleased to have the kids think that she was cool. She answered honestly when she was asked how she felt while fighting. "Well... I was definitely scared. I probably couldn't have done it if I wasn't trying to protect you all." That made some of the kids tear up. Curie almost panicked, but managed to calm them down by giving them some candy she had found a while back.
Danse: Danse didn't get knocked down due to his power armour but the kids swarmed around his legs, making him lose his footing and fall. The force of it made some kids fall, and made two of the younger ones cry. Danse teared up himself. He hated seeing innocent kids cry. He quickly recovered, and scooped the crying children up and ran them over to Curie, so that she could cheer them up. The rest of the children hung on to his back. Curie cheered them up, and now the kids thought that Danse's strength was more impressive than anything. He gave them all piggyback rides the rest of the day as a way to make up for his screw up.
Deacon: Right away, Deacon told the crowd of kids extravagant lies about his more awesome adventures. "I once fought twice that many deathclaws barehanded!" He liked having someone believe his dumb lies for once. He kept it up until Sole came back to a Deacon with his own little group following him everywhere. They told him to quit it before the kids get any wild ideas.
Dogmeat: Dogmeat is absolutely ecstatic that he is getting all of this attention. He enjoys the belly rubs and 'good boys' that the children give him. He returns the favour by giving them thank you licks on their hands.
Gage: Gage is low-key terrified of children, so he doesn't even try to interact with them. He just runs. That leads to a chase where the kids think its a game. He eventually can't continue running, and neither can the kids, so he just collapses onto the ground. The children fall on and around him, and he can't find the strength to push them off, so he just falls asleep like that. Sole comes back to see that they're still asleep in that position, and finds it absolutely adorable. They don't hesitate to tease him about it later.
Hancock: When he gets tackled, he hits his head, making him black out for a second. The kids go silent, and one asks if he's dead. Hancock just sits up and starts laughing. "Don't worry about it, you little tykes. As you just saw, it takes more than that to off me!" The kids cheer, and start apologising a bunch. It takes Hancock a while before the kids will part from him. He enjoys having the kids follow him around like a miniature army. He finds it cute.
Longfellow: Instead of taking the praise the children offer him, he sits them all down to tell them really excited stories from when he was young. As the stories get more and more suspenseful, the children get more and more drawn in by them. When Longfellow is all done, the kids are even more awe-struck than before.
MacCready: He hugs and high-fives the kids right back. He's just happy he saved them, but he supposed it couldn't hurt to accept the children's thanks. If Duncan is in the crowd, then MacCready makes sure to act like killing all those raiders single-handedly is no big deal. He wants to show off for his son.
Nick Valentine: He ruffled a few of the kid's instead of a hug. They call him "the most awesomest person ever, " but he refuses the title. "Listen up kiddos. I'm not all that great. But you guys? You're the real cool ones. You didn't panic when the raiders came, and I bet that when you're older, you'll be able to kick twice as much butt as I did today." He smiles as the children's beaming faces. They all think of how cool it would be to actually do that.
Piper: Is so happy that the children thinks she's cool. She gets called a lot of things, but never cool. She doesn't hesitate to give all the kids hugs, telling them what a great job they did staying calm even when their home was being attacked. If Nat is there, she makes sure to drag a compliment out of her sister. She begrudgingly does, but in her mind, she's thinking of how awesome her sister is.
Preston: Preston is practically glowing with happiness. He's so glad that the children are looking up to him. Especially since he did something that's a good influence on the kids. He doesn't hesitate to tell them about the Minutemen and how they help people too. "Listen up kiddies. When you grow up, and you want to help and be awesome just like I was, then you should join the Minutemen." Some of the kids keep that in mind.
Strong: Needles to say, Strong is confused when a bunch of tiny humans crowd around him. They're all taking at once, so he can't understand a single one. Strong roars as loud as he can, effectively scaring them off. All of them except the girl with the teddy that is. She just stands there and says "awesome" in a barely audible voice. Surprisingly, Strong takes a liking to this fearless child and the two become friends. The little girl rides around on Strong's shoulders all day while he tells her stories about the killing he's done with his bothers. The strange creatures he's eaten, and the milk of human kindness are mentioned as well. When Sole comes back and sees them, they don't even question it.
X6-88: He's already waking away before the kids even reach him. He ignores them before they get in the way of his path. He sighs and tells them to speak. They do, and he almost regrets it. Their questions come rushing forth, some of them, he can't even answer. He stumbles over his words, and is just all around confused until Sole comes back and dismisses the kids. They look at X6 with a smirk on their face, amused that children can get him so easily frazzled. He's so close to hugging them in thanks, but decides against it. He opts for a simple "Thank you sir/ma'am." Sole chuckles and goes about their business.

@ishtar0110
