Duck, leeks, tangerine, black seasame, and cashew. This is a much more softer plating in comparison to what it was a little over two months ago. Much easier on the eyes with a classier appeal. The rather simple yet endearing Cavatelli pasta dish with arugula, creme fraiche, and local peppercorn at @kalirestaurant I love this simple food of a delicate pasta with crunchy arugula. Nice contrast on the taste buds.

Always save room for desserts at La Casita Mexicana in Bell, CA. This restaurant is a bit of a drive to get to from West Los Angeles, but worth enduring the unpredictable LA traffic jams.

Top Chef Estrellas Stars Chef Jaime and Chef Ramiro of La Casita Mexicana offer a wonderful interpretation of regional Mexican cuisine and their desserts are to die for. I finally made plenty of room to try all of the desserts a few weeks ago. No, I didn’t pig out by myself….I actually had the help of a few friends to devour these. My absolute favorite is the Guava with Mexican Egg Nog. OMG, sooo good!
