Inspector Morse: The Dead of Jericho and Lewis: Pilot

(After the last one something not quite as depressing).
I probably have spent far too much time thinking about whether the first Lewis-episode was a deliberate parallel to the first Morse-episode or just a coincidence.
Of course both shows often allude to classic literature, music etc. and also have a few killers who deliberately copy plays/opera and so on but these episodes are different: For over half of the episode both seem to be a whole-plot-reference to a famous play but in the end it turns out that the crime had nothing to do with Oedipus or Hamlet and none of the similarities were intentional.

Yeah…as said. I’ve spent far too much time with this.
