these books make me cry because of how beautifully written they are

Just some fic recs...

I’ve read a lot of really good fic this year and I just thought the best of the best deserved some recognition.  I tried to weed out the super popular fics, but some still show up because I love them that much.  Also, the ships are numerous and varied.

Running on Air–eleventy7; Drarry
Draco Malfoy has been missing for three years. Harry is assigned the cold case and finds himself slowly falling in love with the memories he collects.
*I would murder people to protect this fic.  It’s beautifully written, well-plotted, original, and it reuses certain sentences, making them more poignant the later in the story they’re used.  Like, fuck me up*

the ghost of you–kissmesexybatman; Klance
When Keith goes missing without a trace, all his family and friends are able to do is move on with their lives. When he shows back up after a year, they have to convince him they still want him back.
*I may be slightly biased because the coolest person in the world wrote this, but let me tell you, it’s emotionally heartwrenching, wonderfully written, and gives you a happy ending without sacrificing the needs of the characters*

My soul is an empty carousel at sunset.–dawnstruck; Otayuri
Yuri grows up and grows older and grows into himself. Otabek helps. It just takes a while to get there.
*I’m demi and this fic described exactly what that experience has been like for me, as it features a demi!Yuri.  Beyond that, it was sweet and genuine and I adored it*

Lover Boy (Davey Jacobs X Reader)

WC: 3088

Warnings: Sadness, childbirth, mentions of sex, pregnancy, war stuff

Summary: Davey goes to serve as a doctor during World War 1, but little does he know that his wife, Y/N, is at home pregnant.

Tagged: @lildipstick @bellasabb @linslovelylocks @ahhhhamilton

A/N: I know my schedule says a fic on Sunday but psych bitch! @gninrud-anna gave me this plot (and a lot of the wording was from her messages) and honestly I adored it so I decided to make it a full fic. Enjoy!

“Y/N. I’m home!” I whirled around to face my husband, my skirts swishing as I did.

“How was work, darling?” I asked, pecking Davey’s lips as he shed his coat, hanging it up by the door.

“It was alright. We did get one guy in the office who had somehow managed to swallow a dollar’s worth of nickels. That was somethin’ else, I’m telling you, Y/N.” Davey said, chuckling as he opened the newspaper that sat on the kitchen table.

“That’s great. Is there anything in particular you want for dinner, Dave?” I said, and Davey paused, setting down the newspaper.

“Not really, but, uh, before you start dinner, there’s somethin’ I’ve been meaning to tell you.” Davey said, scratching the back of his head.

I furrowed my eyebrows and sat down next to Davey, placing a hand on his arm gently.

“What is it? You’re not dying, are you?” I said, and Davey let out a little chuckle, shaking his head.

“That’s good.” I muttered, kissing Davey’s cheek softly.

“Y/N, I enlisted. I wanna go overseas and do my part in this war. Ya know, help out the sick and wounded people.” Davey said, and the room fell silent.

There were quite a few moments before any words were uttered. “You what?” I said, and Davey let out a sigh.

“You heard what I said, Y/N. The army’s always lookin’ for more doctors, and they always say that a doctor is the safest profession in the military.” Davey said, standing up and running a hand through his dark hair.

“Davey, what if you don’t come back, huh? What if something goes wrong and I lose you?” I said, feeling tears prick at my eyes.

anonymous asked:

what's your favorite p&p adaptation?

I can’t answer this because it’s too hard so instead I’m going to tell you why all of them are awesome and why you should watch them.

The Lizzie Bennet Diaries

  • It’s a modern adaptation in a series so it’s got this incredible way of translating it into modern times without leaving too much plot???
  • For a webseries it’s really well produced. Acting, costumes, writing, etc. Goooood shit.
  • SISTERLY BONDS SO STRONG
  • “I dislike smiling. It contorts the face.”
  • COSTUME THEATER! Where else are you gonna get costume theater with these characters?
  • This is easily the best version of Fitz
  • POC characters, which 0% of the other adaptations can boast, except for Bride & Prejudice which is bae
  • Darcy is gr9 hi babe
  • Honestly you could just watch for Jane she is the wife of all of us what a Queen
  • Ashley Clements kills it, she’s astounding, I just adore her delivery.
  • Mary Kate Wiles manages to make Lydia likable, which is pretty much impossible.
  • This whole series is so quotable??? Like, wow????
  • That first Dizzie kiss is A++++++++ THANK YOU ACTORS FOR GIVING THAT TO US WE LOVE YOU
  • Side note, A+ for not slut shaming Lydia.
  • LOOK THIS CAST IS THE CUTEST OMFG FITZ AND GIGI AND BING ugh cutie cast
  • Takes place in the good ol’ USofA so it can also be a pretty rad on wheels social commentary

Bride & Prejudice

  • IT’S A MUSICAL VERSION OF P&P!?!?!?!?!?!?!!!!!!!!
  • Aishwarya Rai is literally the most beautiful, beautiful, graceful, beautiful woman of all time, and she plays Lalita.
  • Directed/written by a husband and wife team, like, A++ let’s always watch movies written by women and directed by them
  • The Cobra Dance. Enough said.
  • NO LIFE WITHOUT WIFE IS WITHOUT A DOUBT THE GREATEST SONG OF ALL TIME
  • “The lesbian.”
  • I get all my dance moves from this movie; I’ve been watching it since I was a kid.
  • “It’s just like screwing a lightbulb with one hand and pettin’ the dog with the other.” D A R C Y NOOOOO
  • The commentary Lalita makes on India was really informative and the whole movie does that; I think it’s important for a person like me who lives in America and is really privileged to hear different perspectives of different countries like this. So thank you B&P for educating me on something I never would have learned about.
  • Ashanti. As herself.
  • THE COLORS AND THE CINEMATOGRAPHY !!!! OH GOD!!!!
  • The whole plane ride with Lalita and Darcy destroys my soul. Destroys it.

2005

  • Did some say sexual tension?
  • Like, oomph do these guys want to bad.
  • I need three bullet points just to talk about how much they want to bang
  • The hand flex???!!??! LORD HAVE MERCY ON MY SOUL THEY TOUCH HANDS AND I AM SINNING.
  • I really liked the way Kira Knightley played Lizzy getting slighted by Darcy at the beginning. She actually seems offended. Which you don’t always see in the other versions.
  • This movie is really cool because the director purposefully shot it so that the family looked like a real family and the viewer felt like they were kinda creepin’ on the Bennets. So it’s not composed, it’s like we’re always peering around corners or over shoulders.
  • Bingley is an actual golden retriever.
  • Also the cinematography!?!?!? like the scene where they’re both dancing and nobody else is in the room? That is gr9.
  • Rain!Darcy is the greatest Darcy. Darcy should always be wet.
  • Also his voice is deep. Like the bottom of the sea. But it sees into my soul.
  • Bingley practicing his proposal on DarcY????? BROMANCE that is some goooood shit.
  • The SOUNDTRACK lord sometimes I just listen to it over and over again. Sometimes @ananbeth will text me and be like “Rachel I’m listening to the P&P soundtrack” and I have to prepare myself for her tears. I cry.
  • The house where they film Pemberley is so gorgeous? This movie is so aesthetic?
  • Darcy’s smile when he’s laughing with Lizzy could make angels sing.
  • The American ending of this movie is the greatest thing to happen to this country since Betty White, who is older than sliced bread. Like, hoooolly crap, I don’t care that it isn’t period appropriate, I will watch it 20 times over until I shrivel up into a prune of tears.
  • And one last time, for the people in the back, SEXUAL TENSION.

1995 BBC

  • It’s basically the book. Like, the only difference is… well, you know. We’ll talk about later.
  • There’s so much boobs. There’s boobs everywhere. This movie is probably the reason I’m bisexual (I’m just kidding but seriously boobs.)
  • Colin. Firth. COLIN FIRTH. AS DARCY.
  • I just love the costumes, idk why, I love me an empire waist line.
  • Did I mention Colin Firth’s Darcy?
  • I really love the way Jennifer Ehle plays Lizzy’s spirit. I feel that she captures Lizzy’s spirit really beautifully; she really grabs onto her lust for life. Kira also does that, but Jennifer was my first Lizzy so she’ll always be Lizzy to me.
  • Colin Firth undresses and jumps into a lake in a white shirt.
  • COLIN FIRTH FENCING
  • Colin Firth in the bathtub
  • colin firth starring as grumpy cat.
  • Lydia is played probably closest to how the book intended her.
  • Idk why but Mr. Bennet is perfect, I love him, I am his and he is mine, he will parent me forever with lil tummy and his glasses.
  • Also this Mrs. Bennet is probs more accurate to book Mrs. Bennet but that kinda depends on how you read it.
  • THE SCENERY IS SO GORGEOUS
  • The “not at all, they were brightened by the exercise” scene is basically the reason I wake up in the morning. Darcy you have it so bad.
  • I love the way you kinda see Darcy’s transition… because you spend so much time in this universe and with the characters, Darcy’s transition goes really slowly but smoothly. It’s not too fast, it’s just perfect. I love it.
  • Meep

Bridget Jones’ Diary

  • Colin Firth’s triumphant return to grumpy cat.
  • Actual quote from Colin Firth upon returning to the set: “Surprise bitch. I bet you thought you’d seen the last of me.”
  • Bridget is all of us. She is literally a single, chubby, slightly alcoholic girl who loves Pride & Prejudice too much. Literally, there’s a bonus feature where she interviews Colin Firth about playing Mr. Darcy.
  • If you’re looking for Mr. Darcy hopping into bed with someone, watch Bridget Jones’ Diary. He says “I happen to like your wobbly bits” and that makes me happy.
  • Also I feel like you see his butt and that’s important because Mr. Darcy’s butt is very important for science.
  • The bunny scene? Mmmmmmm.
  • DARCY IN THE KITCHEN HE COOKS AND IT’S AMAZING
  • allll byyyy myyyseeellfff
  • “I like you just the way you are.”
  • Darcy and Wickham BITCH FIGHT it’s incredible and it’s raining men is playing in the background oh my god. I’m gonna go rewatch that scene right now goodbye friends.

Masterlist

Before you left home, your mother made sure that you knew the procedure when meeting someone new. “Be nice and never left them know you hate them if you do,” She had said. “But more importantly, try to fit in.” You had moved to New York, still living in a dream. You got a job as a journalist and hoped to become an author one day. Though you hadn’t even begun writing your book, you decided a new location would inspire you.

So you left your small town home to the Big Apple. You had enough money to get you through five months of necessities and hoped your journalist job at The Report would do you justice. You really didn’t know that your home was in the middle of one of the most wealthy parts of town. It was the cheapest home up for sale and now you knew why. There were photos but those must’ve been taken years ago. The paint job looked sloppy and it looked like your home would fall apart any second. The garden did, however, make up for it.

Your gaze moved to your neighbor’s home. Though it didn’t look like a home, more like a palace. It was grand and made your abode look like a shack where they kept the gardening tools. If people passed by, they would possibly gawk at the castle instead of your eyesore. You rolled up your sleeves and began to unpack. Not a moment to lose, this was gonna be a long day ahead of you.

“Hey, Rookie,” A girl sauntered towards your way and leaned against your desk. “How’s the day treating ya?”

You shrugged, “Better than I expected, to be honest. This is my first time in a big city. I’m glad I didn’t get lost.”

She shrugged, her blonde fringe sweeping to the side, “You’ll get used to it. In about a week, you’ll know how the ropes work. What about your neighborhood? Not all these streets are rainbows and lollipops.”

“Actually, I only have one neighbor. The next house is about a half a mile down the road.”

“Wait, you don’t mean,” She paused. “You bought that house next to Barnes’ place didn’t you?”

“Barnes?” You asked.

“He has a really big house, almost looks like a castle,” She quickly explained.

“Yeah,” You replied. “Huh, I didn’t think anyone lived there. No one ever comes out.”

“Trust me, hun, you’ll regret ever choosing to live there by the end of the week.” She smirked.

“Why is that?” You asked.

“Oh, you’ll know,” She smiled and began walking away. “The name’s Emma by the way.”

“Y/N,” You called back, but she was already rounding the corner.

When you got home, you stopped under the large willow tree that cast its shadow across your cottage. Your gaze moved to the mansion that loomed over you. It looked empty, dark. Still like the night, with no signs of life. The movement of a curtain made your eyes snap to the window the faced you. If someone was watching you, they were gone by now.

You heard some rumors about your neighbor. Though you only knew his last name and you weren’t entirely sure the gossip was true. The things they said were just bizarre. It seems like no one truly knows him. He’s seen as this grand person that captivates people’s attention, yet no one knows who he is. He’s a ghost.

I heard that he’s associated with a mafia. Which is why he’s so wealthy.” A girl by the name of Maria had told you during your lunch break. She leaned on her hand in a very relaxed kind of way.

“Mumbo, jumbo,” Eric spun around, stirring his coffee with a spoon. “He surely won the lottery.”

“As if! Robin told me that he killed his family in order to get the insurance money. Which is why now he’s mafia. Makes sense,” Maria shot back.

“Is this all true?” You had asked, completely bewildered by their statements.

“I do believe he’s in a mafia. He scares me,” Maria shuddered.

“You’ve never even met the man,” Eric continued.

Maria shrugged, “I heard what I heard and that’s final.”

And just like that, the topic of Barnes was finished by those single words. Leaving you as confused as ever.

You walked into your home, lighting up the place with a few bulbs that you had to buy. The music of crickets danced through the cool night air. Your eyes were weary with sleep and you soon found yourself collapsing onto your mattress, falling into a deep sleep.

Friday morning, you walked out onto your porch. You carried your only house plant and didn’t want it to die so you were striving to keep it alive and well. The noise coming from your neighbor’s house made you raise an eyebrow and tilt your head in that direction. Dozens of servants were going in and out of the home. Carrying plates of food, various bottles of alcoholic beverages, ice sculptures and other countless things that only seemed fit at a royal ball. Gardeners trimmed the hedges and cut the grass, tended to the luscious garden with the grand fountain in the middle of it.

You found yourself gawking at all the work they were getting done. The sound of the pot steaming made you rush inside to shut off the stove. The water was had nearly evaporated. You frowned and filled the pot with water before putting it on the stove once again. A knock at your door made your head perk up. You haven’t had visitors since you moved here. You went towards your door and was met with one of your neighbor’s servants. He wore a dark blue suit. His head held high with a letter cradled in his hands.

You opened the door, “Hello, can I help you with something?”

“Mr. Barnes would like to invite you to his party, later on, today,” He handed you the letter. Without another word, he turned on his heel and left you on your porch. Completely bewildered.

You tore the letter open. The fine, black ink stood out on the creme colored stationary. It read:

I would be honored to have you over as my guest at my small party in the evening. I understand that you’re my new neighbor and would like to welcome you with open arms. The party begins after eight o’ clock.

Signed, Barnes

You weren’t one for parties, so instead you shrugged your shoulders and set aside the letter. Not giving it a second thought for the rest of the day.

That night, after eight o’ clock, cars and limousines flooded the driveway if Barnes’ palace. Men and women drove from all across the city to this party to kill the night. Music erupted from the windows of the house and flooded into yours. You could almost hear the joy coming from the people’s tongues. You finally understood why Emma had told you you’d regret buying the place, but truthfully, you didn’t regret a thing.

The party didn’t end until the ungodly hours struck the clock. Little by little the people left the party. They were laughing as they crawled into the backseat while their chauffeur held the doors open for the drunken folks. The wealthy all seemed satisfied after having a party of money. Once they all disappeared into the night, the mansion was left alone and dark once again as it was earlier before, leaving the servants to clean up the mess the next morning.

Fic Rec

This is my contribution to the Fandom Fic Rec Days, a list of stories I love and cherish :) (I know this is gonna be super early, but it’s just gone midnight for me, so it definitely counts as the 10th!)

I’m well aware that a lot of these stories are already hugely popular and may not necessarily need extra publicity, but I love them and wanna share that love with the rest of Tumblr!

Dissolve and Absolve by @toluenesister

Ok. So this Batjokes story just absolutely broke me. The plot, characterisation, the writing, just uuuuhhhhhh! It’s too much! I’m left an absolute sobbing mess by the end and I really can’t recommend it enough. There are dark themes involved, which, at first made me hesitant to continue, but I did and those elements are dealt with so brilliantly that I actually understood why they were included. The development of Bruce and J’s relationship is amazing and anyone who hasn’t read it yet needs to right away, because not only is it incredible writing, but also has equally fantastic artwork to go with it!

Empire’s Son by blank101

This Star Wars story is another that just clawed its way into my head and refused to leave! It’s an AU about what’d happen if the Emperor had raised and trained Luke and words can’t describe how incredibly written and thought out it all is. The brotherly relationship that blossoms between Luke and Han is especially poignant and I don’t just recommend people read this, I DEMAND it!

System of Darkness by @infinitejedilove

Oh my Lord, this QuiObi story is nothing short of exquisite. It’s the story that actually made me start shipping the pair. Everything about it from the characters to their relationship and the plot are all so well done and flow beautifully. I was literally counting down the days, minutes and seconds until each update. It’s an absolute favourite that I will cherish and gush about forever.

Once More, Plainly by @oddlyexquisite

It’s not often I describe a fic as beautiful, but this QuiObi one absolutely is. It’s such an interesting concept, dealing with reincarnation and…just…the writing! My heart ached with each chapter in the most wonderful way. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful!

Onomatopoeia by aquabelacqua

Now, I’m not a Johnlocker and I found this completely by accident, but it’s so well and cleverly written that I immediately bookmarked the shit out of it! As well as their other stories heh. The characters are great and it was pretty hot, too! And if a non-shipper is saying that, it’s gotta be good.

Re-Entry by flamethrower

This - this - is an absolute beast of a QuiObi story! I just can’t get my head around the sheer immensity of scale, commitment and skill put into every inch of it! Writing like this is something I could only ever dream of and this person deserves every single kind of accolade and award going! Read it, people. Reeeaad iiiiitttt!!!!

Half Way Across by @dracze

Heh. Yeeaahhhhh…I don’t think this story really needs any more recs because I’m sure every single Batjoker on the planet has read it, but fuckdammit I love it! So it’s getting another one! I can’t express my adoration for this story with words (as my incoherent screams that are supposed to be reviews can attest), so have been forced to draw the shit out of it instead. It’s perfect and, if by any slim minuscule chance anybody hasn’t read it…well, quite frankly I dunno what you’re doing wth your life.

A Lesson in Restoration by Amadaun

This gorgeous little gem of a fic is for Oblivion from the Elder Scrolls series and there’s soooo much I love about it. It’s main character is an OC and she’s just so wonderfully fucking charming that I want her to be real so I can keep and protect her! It’s on hiatus unfortunately, but don’t let that put you off, because what is there is worth it!

Two Step by @synthwaves

I love this story. I really do. I love it so much I just wanna fucking eat it! Or make love to it. Or something. I dunno. I just know I have a lot of feelings for it. It’s set directly after the events of Batman: Europa and it’s so cleverly written, with amazing dialogue between Bruce and J that I cry with adoration. So people…just read it, kudos it, review it and shower it with all of the love, because it’s worth it! Like L'Oréal. But better!

Matchjokes by mitzvah (Melting)

I’ve read and re-read this thing so many times that if it was a book, I’d have gone through about three copies by now. It’s wonderfully written and I’d never even considered the pairing of Matches Malone and Joker before but it’s brilliant! So brilliant that I wanna draw from it, but it already has a lovely piece of artwork for it that everyone should admire here.

Catalyst by @frenetic-kinetic

This adorable story is so cute and gorgeous and wonderful and I just wanna cuddle it forever! It’s set in the Jak & Daxter universe (I fucking loooove those games!) and it focuses on a relationship between Jak and a lesser known character called Taryn. Please give it a read, especially if you enjoy the games, because it always puts a smile on my face!

The Letter M by @j-not-joker-not-jack-just-j

So this Batjokes story is a little different to others I’ve read. It’s basically the story of what happens if Joker actually dies when falling into the acid vat and returns as a ghost. I just adore the idea of it and the writing is great. It’s only got one chapter so far and I’m trying my damnedest to be patient waiting for an update. *drums fingers on table*

Third Eye Blind by glacis

Now I know Eye of the Beholder is not considered one of Ewan McGregor’s greatest films. But I like it and, regardless of whether you like the movie or not, this little fic is an amazing read. The writing, the plot, the mystery, it’s all so well done and I think it’s criminal that it hasn’t got a million more kudos and reviews!

Obsidian by @batjokesfuckina

Ok. I’m in love with this slice of Batjokesy awesomeness. It’s a collection of one shots and the relationship between the two is so great it makes me laugh, cry and squee with delight all at once. I didn’t know it was possible for a writer to reduce me to a puddle of feels with just two paragraphs but this one somehow managed! So everyone should stop whatever the fuck they’re doing and read it. Right. Fucking. Now. Go on! And leave kudos. And reviews. And love. Lots of love.

So there we are! If anyone else fancies doing this please do because fanfiction is a wonderful thing and the writers are a gift! More info on the Fandom Fic Rec Days can be found here

Outlander 03x01 The Battle Joined

I didn’t have time to do a full rewatch of both seasons before the new season of Outlander started so I only did a rewatch of my absolute favorite episodes. For Season 2 that was 2x01 Through a Glass Darkly and 2x10 Prestonpans… and those two episodes couldn’t have been more relevant to the Season 3 premiere episode with so much of the episode revolving around Frank and Claire’s renewed marriage and a battle and its aftermath.

As has been the case before with Outlander, having read the books and having that vague idea of what’s coming helps me to emotionally prepare for certain events. And has also been the case before with the adaptation, this was an episode where I emotionally prepared for one thing so they decided to wallop me with feels from a direction I wasn’t anticipating (and I LOVE it when the show does that).

Episode spoilers and more below the cut. Also it’s been a long time since I’ve written one of these and I’ve been very excited about it all so this is a verra, verra long analysis.

ML Fan Fic Rec/Appreciation List

Hi! Hello! I thought this might be the best way to show love for my fellow fan fiction writers in the ML community on this the day of appreciation for such folks. I’ve posted about the majority of these authors before in a blog rec list, but I want to put out a formal review of each author and their fics because reviews are important. There are so many fic rec lists out already, but writer types NEVER tire of attention (trust me, I know) so here we go (in alphabetical order to keep things classy and neat):

A Brand New Dawn by @whitebear-ofthe-watertribe

A lovely university AU. I love the way she writes Adrien and Marinette’s rekindled friendship, it’s just so warm and comforting. There is drama and fluff and romance and it’s just such lovely story. Also, her description of high fashion clothing is just #writing goals 100%.

A Werecat in London by  @i-am-thornqueen

An exciting expanded magical world AU.  This world that Thorn has created is just so rich and detailed and could easily stand on its own entirely. Adrien, Marinette and the whole crew drop so easily right into the middle of it and meld perfectly. Her OCs are beautifully developed characters and stand wonderfully on their own two feet, I could honestly read a whole book just following them. It’s full of action, angst, hilarity and Sin™.

Bare Necessities by @reyxa

An adorable art school AU where Adrien ends up as a nude model in Mari’s figure drawing class. Need I say more? Hilarity and adorable drawing sessions and art lessons ensue. This fic is pure and unaltered cotton candy and Reyxa does a wonderful job spinning it while throwing some Sin™ on top for good measure.

Black Cats And Curtain Calls by @bullysquadess

An extremely accurate theatre AU.  The first,  but not the only, Bully fic on the list. (Honestly I had to stop myself from putting them all down.) This short and sweet fic is hilarious and if you were/are a Theatre kid you will appreciate ever inch of it. Bully will capture you every time with her tongue –in-cheek humor and spot on characterization and this little fic is no exception.

Chasing the C/h/atwalk by @runningoutofink

A perfectly done Project Runway AU. Bee just does an absolutely phenomenal job translating the classic reality competition TV show format into the written word which is no small task. One of the things that impressed me most about this writing is that I could visualize every single scene perfectly. It is clearly and beautifully written and honestly made me fall deeper in love with the cast of ML.

Heartstrings by @seiyakanie

The beginning of the end for me and ML fics. This fic took my ML fic virginity and I have never looked back. If there is one thing Taylor knows how to write its Sin™ and luckily for us she knows how to write more than that. I love, love Taylor’s descriptions of actions and the thoughts and feelings of characters while they’re in the middle of those actions. (I also have this fic to thank for plunging me into the depths of Taylor’s OC heaven. Seriously, the girl has an armory full of AMAZING OCs, go check them out.)

Inking Indigo by @matchaball

An exquisite tattoo/soul mate/flower shop AU. I just…I will never be able to stop talking about Matchaball’s writing. Her prose reads like poetry and in some spots like a song. It has rhythm and grace and leads you slowly and easily through the world she’s creating. It can be a hard feat to find an author who not only writes beautifully but also has the world building, plotting and characterizing skills. Matchaball has all of these and more. Reading her writing is just so lovely and relaxing. I just cannot get enough.

Lady and the Tom Cat by @skaylanphear

I think technically this would be a mating cycle AU? It doesn’t matter because it’s FANTASTIC and I am just so pumped to see where it goes. Written by the fantastic Kay, how could you go wrong?  I will expand more on how much I love Kay’s writing in a bit, but I’ll just say I’m so pumped to see her write some sexier things because I know it will be done RIGHT. Jump on this train, it’s going places.

Pick Up and Chase by @skaylanphear

If you’d like to see Adrien embarrassed and stuttering for once, this is the fic for you. I cannot even begin with the level of cheese that Kay has going on in this fic, but it is just an amazing amount. If you’re lactose intolerant steer clear. This is a purely fun, purely hilarious fic and its just so much fun. If you need to smile, this is the place you need to be.

Porte-Boner by @abadmeanman

This fic is so hilarious it altered my state of mind and caused me to write the most ridiculous and off topic comments on each and every chapter. It got so bad that the author was forced to message me to ask me to stop. Then he followed me on Tumblr just to make sure I would leave him alone. He messages me occasionally to make sure I’m not going to comment on his fic again. Jokes on him. We live in a free country and I CAN DO WHAT—

Okay, here’s what I have to say for real. Anyone can pop open a word doc and start writing a shit post meme fic and throw it up on AO3 and call it a day. But it takes a true writer to do it WELL. Humor does not come easily and written humor is often times one of the hardest forms to nail. Phil nails it (HEH HEH) perfectly. His comedic timing is spot on and the sheer amount of pop culture references are just staggering and I’m sure I’ve missed about half of them. On top of that he stays true to character while exploring edges we’ve not seen (and definitely WILL NOT see) in the show. Okay, now I’m done.

Satisfaction Brought It Back by @siderealsandman

An extremely delicious, definitely NSFW BDSM/friends with benefits/fake dating AU. This fic is just so much more than it’s AU. It goes so far beyond its BDSM theme and I was just not prepared for it when I dived in. What you might think you’re getting: crazy kinky sex everywhere all the time – What you’re actually getting: deep and meaningful character development, ANGST, FLUFF,  lessons on safe and healthy sexual relationships, lessons on safe and healthy relationships in general, lessons on how NOT to pretend like you’re not in love with your partner. And all of it extremely well written. If you are not an Innocent Child you must go read this. It will save your soul and send it to hell in one fell swoop.

Serendipitous Fate by @skaylanphear

*DEEP BREATH* I am still not and never will be over this fic or Kay’s writing. It just cannot be done. Kay’s understanding of these characters and their world is so insanely in depth its mind boggling. She handles each and every one of them with such love that it takes my breath away. Nothing is done without out a cause and effect and everything is woven into an intricate web. I sometimes get so profoundly sad that this is not cannon because it’s just so authentic and accurate. I know I can’t really say that because we don’t know what will be “cannon” or authentic or accurate, but it just is. If you’re not reading SF or planning on reading it, you’re doing yourself a terrible disservice.

Squares, Triangles, and Other Shapes by @sadrien

DOUBLE. FAKE. DATING. AU. Holy hell, how Sadrien even got through the fic summary without getting vertigo I have no clue. This fic delivers something that I think the fandom required. A fake dating square to walk hand in hand with our love square. It’s still early on, but I can already tell it will be filled with a bunch of hilarious situations and shenanigans. I’m just so excited and you should be too!

Sugar, Sugar by @bullysquadess

Who else but Bully would/could deliver unto us a beautifully written…Sugar Daddy AU? Just the mere fact that she fully has me believing this could really happen between Adrien and Marinette is the achievement of the year. This fic is in the early stages, but has such a promising beginning and will surely be a hilarious ride.

The Ladybug and The Bees by @bullysquadess

Oh man. The infamous TLATB. So, this is the third Bully Fic™ on my list and I could talk about how it’s the flagship sin fic and all that, but I’m not. I want to talk about how much I love Bully’s writing and how great of a writer she is, really, truly. As I said in my little blurb about Porte-Boner, humor is a truly hard thing to write and get across the right way. Bully does this flawlessly, every. single. time. But there’s more than that, when TLATB started to take an unplanned off-road detour to angst-ville, Bully managed to keep her readers right with her. Folks, that is an extremely hard thing to do, to keep your readers with you, no matter what crazy shit you do. To keep them believing and to not jolt them out of the narrative. That’s the main job of the writer, to kidnap their readers and keep the believing all the way through to the last page. Bully, you’re a great writer, I know you’re having a rough and unpleasant time right now, but keep your chin up. You’re great.

The Luckiest Man In Paris by Ms. Sophie

The premise of this fic is just so undeniably adorable and everything that follows is undeniably adorable as well. I just love how Sophie writes the dynamic between Chat and Mari. It’s so true to their characters and so adorable. HAVE I SAID ADORABLE ENOUGH. I’ve actually probably said it too many times for the amount of sin happening (and will be happening) in this fic. Sophie captures my attention with lovely turns of phrase she uses and wonderful character interactions. It’s such a great read and you should GO READ IT NOW. Also because Sophie is a sweet little dumpling.

You Don’t Know Me by @ferisae

Okay. So, um…it’s like really hard to get me to actually cry, like blubbering tears and unattractive hiccups crying, during movies/shows/books. I can count on one hand the amount of times a book or movie or show has made me cry. You Don’t Know Me has DESTROYED me.  TWICE. While reading it. If you’re ready for a soul-crushing amount of angst Ferisae is your dealer. She delves deep, deep into Adrien’s character and pulls out everything that is sad and lonely and uses it to crush you in the best way. Even if you’re someone who actively avoids angsty fics (like me) you absolutely must give yourself the chance to read this. Just make sure you have a nice warm cup of something hot and a blanky and maybe some baby animal photos open in the next tab over.

Okay this got super long, whoops. Sorry not sorry because all these author’s deserve all the love.

Thank you to each and every one of these lovely people and every fic author out there. Y’all are truly amazing for the amount of time, work and love you put into your writing. It shows a true passion and even if writing isn’t what you want to do with your life full time, the passion you have can easily be transferred to any aspect of your life. Passion is fuel to live and live happily. Thank you for sharing your passion with us.

This prompt reminded me of something I wrote a while ago and never posted:

Alter Ego Prom AU

I’m coming up with headcannons for a high school AU with Mark and Jack’s egos. It’s like, whatever ego X reader. Each ego has their own tendencies and I wondered what it would be like if they liked the reader and asked them to be their prom date. It’s kinda silly but idk.
(I’m not going to do all of them, because there’s just so many)

Dark: He asks you in a very traditional way, it probably involves roses. He won’t admit how overjoyed he is when you say yes.
He tells you to wear red, so you’ll match his tie, and when he arrives to pick you up, he tells you how amazing you look.
He probably goes all out with renting a limo and takes you to fancy restaurant beforehand.
At the actual dance, he introduces you to all his cohorts. He acts very professional and proper around them. Whenever you have a moment to yourselves, he pulls you away to kiss you. He’d definitely dance to all the slow songs with you, whispering sweet things into your ear.
He wins prom king because of how immensely popular he is. You subsequently win prom queen, because the two of you are dating and everyone knows this. Alternatively, if you didn’t win for whatever reason, he would ignore the actual prom queen and still dance with you instead.

Wilford: This is a tricky one. He’d tease you with the idea that he might ask you, but you’d probably have to bring it up to him tbh. It would take a little persuading, but he would eventually agree. He’s aready bought the tickets for the two of you anyway, so you figure it was all just part of his plan.
Once you know he actually does like you, he tries to spoil you. He even takes you shopping for what you’re going to wear.
On prom night, he takes you to your favorite restaurant and he lets you order everything you want, including dessert. When it comes to dancing, he has two left feet, but he insists on dancing anyway, mostly the fast, upbeat songs. He’s a bit embarrassed to slow dance with you, but he’s actually not terrible. If he ends up stepping on your toes, he apologizes profusely.

Google: Sends you a well-worded text “I was calculating the probability of wether or not you would agree to attend this ‘Prom’ event with me. You are a very interesting person and I enjoy your company. I would find it incredibly satisfying if you said yes.”
When you agree, he is genuinely grateful. When he picks you up, he tells you, “I’m delighted that you agreed to attend this event with me. I am aware that there were many other qualified suitors who were willing to accompany you. The fact that you chose myself is quite flattering.”
He would go on to tell you that he finds your outfit aesthetically pleasing. He would take you to any restaurant you want, and he’d spend the whole night by your side, making sure you were having a good time. He brings you punch and offers you a few dances. Even though he can’t actually feel any sort of attraction, he would do things that are considered romantic, because he knows how much you like him. He’d even kiss you if you asked. It does nothing for him, but he’s contented by how much you seem to enjoy it.

Yandere: He’s too shy to ask senpai to Prom in person, so he slips a letter into your locker. The note itself is actually pretty child-like in appearance, with little hearts and doodles in the margins. It’s written in sparkly gel pen and ends with those “check yes or no” boxes.
When you approach him after, he is afraid of what you’re going to say, so he tries to avoid you. When you finally catch up to him and tell him you’d love to go, he blushes and asks “really?”.
He wants to do so much for you, but he’s practically paralyzed for fear that he might upset you. As a result, you end up planning almost everything, but tell him that’s okay, whatever he’s comfortable with.
When you actually go to prom with him, he wears his nicest dress and it’s your favorite color. You tell him he looks nice, but he insists you look even better. Every time you give him a compliment, he nearly faints. He’s so nervous, but you do everything in your power to make sure he’s not stressed out, and after a while he does become calmer. You’re pleasantly surprised by how well he dances, and he tells you that he’s been practicing a lot to impress you. At the end of the night, you kiss him on the cheek and he practically melts into a puddle on the floor.

Author/Host: Probably sends you a letter, hand-written in expensive ink on canvas paper. It probably contains quotes from your favorite books. It’s so beautifully-worded, you can’t help but accept his invitation. He would take you to his favorite café before the actual dance, maybe even read you a poem he wrote for you.
When you dance with him, he probably sings along to the songs. He mostly speaks in third person, and he’s a bit embarrassed about it, but you don’t see it as a problem. It’s just one of his little quirks and it makes him more interesting to talk to. At some point during the night, he’ll start acting a bit nervous and when you ask him what’s wrong he says, “The Host would like to know if it would be alright to kiss you?” of course, you say yes.

Anti: Probably asks you with a prank. Your ticket pops out of something with a spring. It scares the shit out of you, but after you’re over the shock, you agree. He’s absolutely ecstatic when you tell him.
He refuses to wear a tie, but still looks pretty good in his suit.
Once you’re at the dance, he tries to hijack everything. He empties the prom king and queen ballot boxes and fills them with cards saying “dat boi”, “deez nuts”, or something like that, so no one really wins. He also spikes the punch and the two of you (plus countless others) probably get a little tipsy.
He finds dancing pointless and this whole rest of the event is kinda boring to him. After he’s caused all the trouble, he just wants to leave. Depending on how you answer, he’ll react differently. If you want to stay, he’ll do it, maybe even dance with you, just to make you happy. If you agree to leave, the two of you probably end up making out in his car. The two of you would also totally be cliché and get a hotel room afterwards as well.

Chase: Prom with Chase plays out like a drama movie. Just assume that he and Stacy had a fight and now she’s going with some other guy to make him jealous. He asks you to go as friends, because he doesn’t want to show up alone.
He’s super nice to you and buys both tickets, takes you to dinner with his friend group, (which includes Stacy, so it’s kind of uncomfortable) and dances to pretty much every song.
Even though it’s supposed to be platonic, both of you end up having a great time and he tells you he wants to hang out with you more. This never happens though, because by the end of the night, Stacy is crying and begging him to take her back. Of course, he’s still stuck on her, so he shoots you a “sorry, but I have to” kinda glance as he leaves with her, and you’re left alone, to figure out how you’re getting home.

Hi! What is the title of that book with Maurice in it? The one you posted a paragraph of, where he's talking about love and how Clive didn't love him? Can you recommend any other books that talk about love, platonic or otherwise? Thank you in advance!

Hello! It’s from Maurice, by EM Forster. Bit of a weird novel, truth be told; I really like it and would definitely recommend it, but it’s very of its time insofar as a lot of the homosexuality is kind of delineated along lines of ‘I am a man and I am attracted to women and think they’re fine’ and ‘I am a man and I am not attracted to women and therefore they’re terrible’. It’s a noteworthy novel in that it’s probably the earliest literary fiction text in the modern Western canon which features a clearly gay protagonist, and in which a gay pairing gets a happy ending, so I do think it’s worth reading, but I definitely think you’d need to bear in mind that it wasn’t written this century.

I think that love is a very general theme in a lot of books (for is not the entire world rooted in love, and is not to write about the world also to write about love, and yet also war, etc etc etc blah) but doing a quick scan of my bookshelf, here are some books I like that are about different kinds of love:

  • Reunion - Fred Uhlman. About a teenage Jewish boy who becomes close friends with a new boy in his year at school, around the time of WW2. A lot of people read this - totally validly - as a romantic narrative, but I always read it as being about that strange kind of love that sometimes happens between people who become fast friends, when it’s intense and borderline obsessive, but platonic.
  • Girl Hearts Girl - Lucy Sutcliffe. Honestly, although this book is predominantly about sexuality and coming to terms with being queer / LGBT in a heternormative world, I’d most recommend it as a book about loving yourself. It’s a phenomenal book and it really instilled a lot of values in me about being confident in myself and my identity. It’s a kind of intrapersonal love, if that makes any sense at all!
  • But You Did Not Come Back - Marceline Loridan-Ivens. Written as a letter from an elderly Jewish woman to her father, who died when she was 15, after they were both deported to Auschwitz. It’s autobiographical, beautifully written, and it ruined me. I haven’t read a book that better sums up what it is to love someone who isn’t there. I think that loving across life and death is a topic that isn’t really written about very successfully all that often, and the way that Loridan-Ivens describes it makes it seem almost like an amputation of the self.
  • Symposium - Plato. I’d be a jerk if I didn’t recommend you this, seeing as it is essentially the definition of the word ‘platonic’. It’s basically a collection of philosophical ideas of what love actually is, and the different types thereof. That myth you’ve probably heard about humans originally being two people joined together, then split from their soulmates? That’s from the Symposium. It talks about love between men (although again, be warned for period-appropriate misogyny) and I recommend it primarily because it’s a good retort to the ol’ ‘well, gay people are a modern invention’ argument.
  • The Boy Who Fell Out of the Sky - Ken Dornstein. This is a super weird recommendation, but hear me out! Dornstein’s brother was a passenger on flight Pan Am 103, and was killed in the explosion over Lockerbie. This book is ostensibly about Dornstein’s quest to find out about his brother’s last moments, but it’s really about familial and specifically fraternal love; how to live up to someone when you look up to them, and how to move on when they’re not there any more. You will cry a whole bunch, but it’s a great book.
  • Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe - Benjamin Alire Sáenz. Listen. I did not like this book. It just wasn’t really my cup of tea; the writing style didn’t sit well with me. However, I appreciate it immensely as a book for teenagers and young adults which is a) about LGBT characters; b) written by an actual LGBT individual rather than a straight person ‘writing gay’ (as far as I know!); c) written by and about POC. The subject matter is really interesting and I’d definitely still recommend this as a YA book about identity and love, and the journey towards acceptance both of yourself and your peers.
  • The Princess Bride - William Goldman. Listen, this has the single greatest passage about love in any published novel ever.
    • With no more words, she whirled into his arms then, saying, “Oh, Westley, I didn’t mean that, I didn’t, I didn’t, not a single syllabub of it.”
Now Westley knew that she meant to say “not a single syllable of it,” because a syllabub was something you ate, with cream and wine mixed in together to form the base. But he also knew an apology when he heard one.
So he held her very close, and shut his loving eyes, and only whispered, “I knew it was false, believe me, every single syllabub.”
  • The Song of Achilles - Madeline Miller. Oh, c’mon. You knew I’d recommend this one. It’s the best novel about obsessive love I know. Yes, I’d define it as obsessive; love that is singular and overwhelming and consuming. I can’t talk about this book any more. I will get the sobs again.
  • Giovanni’s Room - James Baldwin. This is a short novel about a man who is dissatisfied with his girlfriend and begins an affair with another man. That makes it sound kind of tawdry, but it really isn’t. The main character is a bit of a tit, truth be told, but it’s a really great example of a narrative about the dangers of denying your own identity and the destructive power wielded by internalised homo/biphobia. It was also written by a black gay man in 1956, so it’s a blessing that it was published.

I need to make a stir fry now, but I hope that was at least 40% helpful!

anonymous asked:

hello there. could you make a proper post about ragnarok? your tags are teasing me & i wanna know what you liked about it. personally i was vibrating with excitement throughout, it was so good. after all the dark, boring marvel stuff, finally some quality fun. everything a blockbuster should be, done right. (with enough brothering to warm my samndean heart)

hi there, anon, I’d be delighted. Though coherent film reviews aren’t really my business, this movie was just–supremely delicious enough to make it happen.

THOR: RAGNAROK spoilers below.

Vibrating with excitement is a great way to describe the experience of seeing this movie, and for that I think we need to start with a little background. Anyone who reads my tags on a regular basis knows that, truly, #taika waititi is my hero. Why, though? Well, to start with, he is a genius, and what he’s a genius at is a particular kind of comedy. A lot of people say that there’s a particularly New Zealand sense of humor to his films–not being a Kiwi I don’t know that I could say, either way. However, if you’re a fan of Flight of the Conchords or Rhys Darby, you can hear the echoes of that comedy style throughout his work. It’s whimsical, clever, self-deprecating, ranges from surrealist to subtle. What it is not, ever, is mean-spirited. Sometimes there’s a light jab to the ribs, but it is always, always given with a quirk of a smile. Such a refreshing thing, especially given how… cruel comedy can be, in the wrong hands.

What’s more important than his skill with comedy, though, is the way he’ll layer in real, true feeling–and never makes it schmaltzy. If you’re forced to watch a “feel-good family film” from a lesser director, there will be ‘funny’ moments (often based in personal humiliation and mockery), there will be brief drama (usually melodrama), and there will be moments of poignancy where everyone realizes that they really do love each other, after all. Puke. Contrast here Waititi’s masterpiece–yes, screw you, it’s a masterpiece–Hunt for the Wilderpeople. This movie is genuinely, laugh-out-loud funny–and it also made me cry, genuinely, at the same time that it made my whole chest full and warm with sympathetic joy. The man knows how to layer in emotion with his humor in a way that doesn’t make the audience feel cheaply manipulated. When Ricky Baker earns his happy ending at the end of Wilderpeople, your face hurts from smiling and your eyes are wet, and–if you’re me–you feel grateful, to be treated like an adult by a director. Such a joy not to feel dragged along like a simpleton, not to feel like the script was written with crayon. (No spoilers for Wilderpeople, but if you’re reading this and you haven’t seen it, you fucking should. I think it’s streaming on Amazon right now.)

So. Then we came to Thor. I didn’t have high hopes for the character’s franchise after Thor: The Dark World (though I did like that movie more than most people, it seems). However, as soon as Waititi was attached, my immediate reaction was shock and then a thrill, and holy shit, did he deliver.

Angst - Deathfic

Abraham by sowell

Summary: Sam waits for the hand of God, but it never comes.
What I thought: Really intense trials AU. Basically, the title and summary say it all. But genius that sowell dared to go there.

After All (The Evermore Remix) by marciaelena
M | ~ 2500 words | Early seasons
Summary: After all is said and done, what else is there?
What I thought: A wonderful exploration of the full angst potential of Lucky Charms.

And If I Show You My Dark Side (Will You Still Hold Me Tonight) by ratherastory
M | ~ 3000 words | Season 9

What I thought: Now this is a deathfic after my own heart…

For Keeps For Good Forever by candle_beck
M | ~ 7500 words | Season 3 AU
Summary: Dean never told Sam about his deal.
What I thought: If this doesn’t qualify as angst, I really don’t know what does. Every bit as heartbreaking as the summary promises.

I Will Follow You Into the Dark by blackrabbit42
R | ~ 1900 words | Unspecified time
Summary: Sam grips the phone, silently willing Dean to answer, damnit.
What I thought: I’m always a bit wary of stories which deal with sad themes like terminal illness, because that’s usually just used as an excuse for writing a random tearjerker that could be set in any sort of fandom, involving any sort of characters, but what makes this story so thoroughly convincing is that it reflects very strongly on what Alzheimer means in the world of SPN, and that’s fantastic.

Sandcastles in the surf by ash_carpenter
R | ~ 2700 words| Season 8
Summary: Sam takes Dean to the ocean and they find unexpected peace, even though nothing is quite as it seems. Sometimes, you just have to learn to let go.
What I thought: This fic creates a wonderfully eerie atmosphere which slowly makes you realise something’s not quite right. As beautiful as it is heart-wrenching.

What Comfort It Brings by nutkin
M | ~ 4600 words | Season 3
Summary: It’s the last year of Dean’s life, but Sam’s got plenty more.
What I thought: Another deliciously angsty S3 fic.

Angst – Other

a foreign land by oxoniensis
NC-17 | ~ 11000 words | Pre-series
Summary: He looks in the mirror and doesn’t recognize himself. He’s a foreign land.
What I thought: It’s a very uncomfortable read, but it’s meant to be. Very accurate depiction of how unhealthy Sam and Dean’s relationship is, and therefore one of the few underage fics I find bearable.

and indeed there will be time by gretazreta
M | 8100 words | Season 7
Summary: Sam and Dean take a break from hunting, settling in a seaside town in Maine. Dean fixes cars; Sam gets a gig as an agony-aunt on the radio, and all things considered, life should be simpler. It isn’t.
What I thought: It’s brilliant to read a story that isn’t about Sam and Dean getting together, but drifting apart – this one’s extraordinarily painful and gorgeous.

As Long As I Live by viviansface
NC-17 | ~ 3300 words| Season 10
Summary: Sam wishes Dean would speak up and say, Sammy, looks like we’re gonna Thelma & Louise this one. The car is way too quiet, the Darkness approaching fast.
What I thought: Schmoopy impala sex against the backdrop of the approaching Darkness – a gorgeous mix, both angsty and soothing.

A Thousand Shades of Red by nekare
PG-13 | ~ 10000 words | Pre-series
Summary: Growing up is hard. Sam knows it, can feel it beneath his skin as his bones stretch and his baby fat fades and he’s perpetually hungry.
What I thought: Basically, this is just a Sam-grows-up-and-angsts type of fic, but what makes it much more than that is the as intricate as it is laconic autopsy of teen!Sam’s damaged psyche. Special bonus: Sam sleeping with Dean’s girlfriend.

M | ~ 33700 words | Post Season 9 AU

Then there’s also Sam, the harried student in the attic, who seems so familiar that it’s impossible not to gravitate toward him. Things are sunnily good, and in this house that abounds with corn and honey, nightmares and memories, ghosts and pesky blue-eyed birds, it’s easy to get lost in a reality that isn’t yours. But if this place isn’t real, then what will Sam and Dean find in the real world when they—if they—finally wake?

The Piper by gretazreta
Not Rated | ~ 43500 words | Season 6 AU
Summary: They’ve left hunting behind and settled down to small town life, but it’s not easy. There’s a plague of rats in the wheat-field and the town’s in crisis. It’s probably not their kind of gig, but that won’t stop Dean from getting to the bottom of it, even if it means burning their house down in the process. Sam’s memory is full of holes. He’s having dreams, another thing he can’t talk to Dean about, and he can’t shake the feeling that Dean’s not telling him everything that’s happened.
What I thought: The atmosphere in this one - I don’t think I’ve ever read anything like it. Hauntingly beautiful.

Dressing to Seduce by themegalosaurus
NC-17 | ~ 2800 words | Season 11

He’s shed the shirts, all the layers that he uses to cocoon himself, and he’s leaning casual against the frame of the open doorway with only a tight navy v-necked tee stretched over his chest. Dressed like this, it’s evident how much progress Sam’s made in regaining the weight that he lost last year.’

What I thought: In which Sam and Dean are both trapped, each in their own way.

Blink (You’re Gone) by thehighwaywoman
NC-17 | ~ 1700 words | Season 3 AU
Summary: The undiscover’d country, from whose bourn
No traveller returns,–puzzles the will,
And makes us rather bear those ills we have
Than fly to others that we know not of?

(Hamlet, Act III)
What I thought: I don’t really know what to say about this story – it’s one of those fics that are too fascinating and disturbing for words. It makes for a supremely unsettling and surreal read, and every *blink* is scary like a whiplash, or a mental blank.

Blink (the Rapid Eye Movement remix) by rivkat
M | ~ 3300 words | post Season 3 AU
Summary: These but the trappings and the suits of woe. Written for Remix Redux 08. Original story: Blink (You’re Gone), by thehighwaywoman.
What I thought: This story is slightly less mysterious than thehighwaywoman’s original in that we do get some answers to the questions: What’s happening? Is this real? Is it a dream? Who’s dreaming? But it still manages to be just as disturbing. Dean!whump at its finest.

Cupid’s Got A Gun by geckoholic
NC-17 | 13500 words | Season 4
Summary: Fuck-or-die, set in early S4. But they’ve been fucking for years, so that shouldn’t be a problem, right? Wrong. Ever since hell, Dean’s in no hurry to get that show on the road again. They’ve tried, and it doesn’t work, too many bad memories from what’s been done to him downstairs. A case that involves a cursed cross and a vengeful witch takes that choice away from them, though…
What I thought: Brilliant casefic, intriguing Dean-post-hell character study, fabulous portrayal of Sam and Dean’s rocky relationship, and angst and drama like woah.

Cursed (series) by glorious_spoon
M | ~ 6700 words | Early seasons
Summary: Sam really should know better than to tangle with witches.
What I thought: An incredibly raw and in character witches-made-them-do it that never attempts to gloss over anything.

Desperation Takes Hold by someblazingstar
R | ~ 2100 words | Season 5
Summary: They’ve never fought like this, not quite like this.
What I thought: One of the best limited third person POVs I’ve ever read. It leaves you guessing what’s actually happening right until it’s already too late.

Dishabille by kalliel
NC-17 | ~ 5000 words | Season 2 – Season 6
Summary: Possession doesn’t end with an exorcism. Possession is cinders. And it will burn you down. Meg-lubricated Sam/Dean, Dean/Soulless!Sam. From post-2x14 “Born Under a Bad Sign” to 6x10 “Caged Heat.”
What I thought: Sam and Dean have the most unhealthy, tangled up, crazy thing – epic proportions of screwed-up-ness.

Filthy Mind by rivkat
NC-17 | ~ 26400 words | post Season 3 AU
Summary: Dean acquires unwelcome nightly visitors. Set post-Hell, without details as to how that happens.
What I thought: This is one of those stories where something bad happens to Dean (and again and again) and we suffer at least as much with poor Sam who has to witness it all and try to save his brother as we do with Dean himself. I really love the somewhat darker and edgier portrayal of Sam here which only leads to make him all the more sympathetic.

Fuck or Die by casspeach
NC-17 | ~ 9400 words | Early seasons
Summary: Succubi prey on the sexually frustrated.
What I thought: This is the weirdest, most fucked-up, role-play-heavy brother-on-brother action imaginable. Incorporated into an incredibly well-crafted and very realistic story.

I’m No Angel by dreamlittleyo
NC-17 | ~ 1900 words | Season 4
Summary: After the events of “Heaven and Hell,” Dean is surprised to discover that Sam is jealous. He’s even more surprised to learn about his brother’s possessive streak, and things get intimate and rough when Sam pulls the Impala over in the middle of nowhere.
What I thought: This takes Sam’s dark desperation in S4 to new heights or rather lows – as fascinating as it is horrifying.

Only Sweeter by rivkat
M | ~ 30000 words | Season 4 AU
Summary: Dean gets amnesia; Sam tries to use it to fix him. Sam/Dean for certain values of Sam/Dean.
What I thought: In a very neat subversion of the amnesia trope this story is less about who Dean is without the baggage of his (crippling hell) memories, and more about who Sam is, and how far he’s willing to go. There is no demon blood in this, no black eyes, no nostril flaring, and yet this is about the most perfect portrayal of S4’s dark!Sam that I’ve come  across.

Subrogate (series) by dreamlittleyo
NC-17 | ~ 12000 words | Season 1
Summary: Sam scares the crap out of Dean. Dean cools off and comes back with confession (and sex!) on the agenda. Things go badly after that. // Some angst, some shmoop, some closure, some inarticulate drunken confession… Sam and Dean work on moving past the mess they’ve been left in.
What I thought: There are so many possibilities within the SPN mythology to get Sam and Dean into bed – this is a rather typical one, but treated with great thoughtfulness and care.

Trust Me by soullessbrothers
NC-17 | ~ 4100 words | Season 6
Summary: After a hunt, a soulless Sam confronts Dean about sharpening his skills. When they fight again, Sam decides that he needs to finally give Dean what he has always wanted, whether Dean actually wants it or not.
What I thought: Pretty brutal but realistic Robo!Sam story in which he expertly uses all of Dean’s weaknesses – baby brother Sam included.

Tuesday by ash_carpenter
R | ~ 3800 words | Season 3
Summary: Mystery Spot coda, where Sam becomes more invested in sleeping with Dean than finding a solution. Dark, rape, character death, buckets o’ angst, abuse, serious Dean!whumpage.
What I thought: There’s something about this desperately psychopathic Sam that I find astonishingly convincing.

Thy Brother’s Blood Cries Out by laughablelament
NC-17 | ~ 3500 words | Season 10
Summary: For a guy so smart Sam can be thick as bricks sometimes. Sam thinks Dean’s given up. Thinks he isn’t fighting anymore, isn’t fighting himself every nightmare second.
What I thought: This is the dark ‘Dean really, really wants to kill Sam’ MoC fic that I always wanted to read!

Weak by ash_carpenter
NC-17 | ~ 4000 words | Season 4
Summary: Sam is going darkside and he manipulates his brother into giving him what he wants. Evil!Sam, dub-con, crying!Dean, hints of whore!Dean, angst.
What I thought: What really impressed me about this was how the power imbalance between Sam and Dean is never as absolute as Sam believes it to be. (As an aside: I can completely understand how someone can become addicted to the sight of Dean’s tears!)

whose wings, though tattered… by fleshflutter
PG-13 | ~ 2200 words | Season 4 AU
Summary: There is a breeze moving across the field. It stirs the long grass in lapping waves like the sea. Castiel runs his fingertips through it and remembers flying.
What I thought: This is Dean/Castiel, but it’s also Sam/Dean, and very, very creepy.

Why Must We Pray Screaming? by dreamlittleyo
NC-17 | ~ 2200 words | Season 2
Summary: Bobby stops by, investigating signs of demonic activity, and Sam informs his brother that it’s time for a change. Dean doesn’t like Sam’s new proposal, but it turns out his vote doesn’t count for much.
What I thought: Equally fantastic and fucked-up coda to 4x06 in which Sam’s yellow eyes are no longer just a ghost-sickness hallucination of Dean’s.

Outsider!POV

A Little While by lizzypaul
PG-13 | ~ 2700 words | Post Season 2 AU
Summary: Rebecca gets an unexpected call.
What I thought: Rebecca from “Skin” turns out to be a perfect POV for Wincest – a great read.

can be deceiving by bertee
PG-13 | ~ 2000 words | Unspecified time

What I thought: What’s worse than two lovers-slash-serial-killers? Incestuous-lovers-slash-serial-killers, obviously. Utterly hilarious and spot-on.

Crush by sonofabiscuit77
NC-17 | ~ 60800 words | Season 3 AU
Summary: Five years after the apocalypse didn’t happen and Sam and Dean have settled down, or as much as the Winchesters can ever settle down. Sam is a college professor and Dean a well-respected small business owner and they’re learning how to balance work, hunting and dog-ownership while coping with the metaphorical and literal scars of war. Life’s not perfect, not for a (sort of) out and proud couple in small town USA with a lot to hide, but they’re dealing, that is, until Dean employs one sexually-confused teenager who develops an unhealthy obsession with both of them. Switching between five years earlier and now, we learn how the boys came together, how they made it through the big fight and whether they’ll ever manage to find that flighty temptress, happily ever after.
What I thought: Contains a very carefully drawn original character and thoroughly believable outsider reactions to Wincest, particularly Bobby’s struggles with the issue, on top of being a very engrossing, well-paced read.

Five Times Jess Noticed (That Sam Wasn’t Quite Normal) by mass_hipgnosis
PG-13 | ~ 4300 words | Stanford Era
Summary: Pilot wasn’t the first time her boyfriend did something to make her think, Oh-kayy, that’s a little weird.
What I thought: Great exploration of how some of Sam’s habits would seem to someone who doesn’t know anything about hunting. Also, Sam gets to be a BAMF.

heroes in the seaweed by de_nugis

Ignorance Would be Bliss by delanach
PG-13 | ~ 2900 words | Season 9
Summary: Kevin knows more than he wants to about Sam and Dean, and he really wishes he didn’t.

And Brendan’s got himself into a game of poker with a hustler, who Chase keeps telling himself to stop staring at, and Brendan’s being taken for every last cent in his wallet.
What I thought: Fantastic outsider!POV set during the time that Sam’s at Stanford.

Pieces of the Winchester Puzzle by tekmessa
PG-13 | ~ 8200 words | Stanford Era

The Book of Chuck by gretazreta
M | ~ 5600 words | Season 4
Summary: If he’s the chosen prophet of the Lord, why is his life so fucking out-of-control?
What I thought: I never contemplated shipping Sam/Chuck before I read this, but this story convinced me that the pairing actually makes a good deal of sense. Not as much as Sam/Dean though, poor Chuck.

This is How it Works by sneaky_sena

Crusts by misplaced_ad
Summary: Episode coda for s10e14 “The Executioner’s Song.” Cas makes Sam a sandwich.
The worst part, Sam thought, was that Dean wouldn’t look at him, not normally at least. His brother would meet his eyes momentarily, even smile a little, then let his gaze slip to Sam’s temple, or to his ear, or increasingly more often, to his throat. To the spot—just over Sam’s right carotid artery—he had once liked to kiss.
What I thought: Beautiful Sam/Cas interactions in which Cas offers dubious euphemisms and real comfort.

One Piece Live Action

All of the live actions Hollywood has done has been an ass of a disaster. Just getting that out there.

I personally haven’t watched DBZ or the recent Ghost in the Shell but I’ve been in the midst of the generally dissatisfaction, to say the least, about both. And we all know of the unspeakable Avatar the Last Airbender (ATLA) live action.

But with One Piece(OP), that’s a whole monolith of a story that ATLA and Attack on Titan and others haven’t been before with almost a thousand chapters and episodes ongoing.

I think the main problem live action movies and their writers and directors have is that they can’t get the idea of the source being from an ANIME. It just sticks in their head and doesn’t allow them to treat this as a movie as it should be. An anime, a tv series, a book, and a movie are all different mediums and have completely different rules.

The thing I’m afraid about is that the live action will try to get the whole crew together in one movie and the fans know how long it took to get to Brook. I’m thinking that the best way to approach this is by following the animated movies’ lead, such as Baron Omatsuri and the Secret Island and Dead End Adventure, and create an original narrative and plop it into the flow of OP’s storyline, kind of like what they do for filler.

Then comes the main purpose of the live action even existing, which is to appeal to an audience that typically wouldn’t watch anime and haven’t even heard of OP. So if they do as I said and make an original narrative like which was made for only the fans in mind, it might alienate the other half of the population.

Which comes in the whole situation of treating this like a movie instead of an anime. Get your head out of that anime is weird belief that everyone still has, writers and directors. You don’t need to spoon feed us everything by stating it directly and I think the audience who weren’t fans originally would agree even if they don’t have previous knowledge.

Let’s take Avatar again. The writers and director had a hard time with that one as they felt the need to add narration and world building and backstory within the characters’ dialogue and thus sucking any characterization from them and making it seem like the movie was just regurgitating information at you. Narration and Dialogue can be utilized to do worldbuilding, but it needs to be done right and not overused or repetitive. As I’m not an expert I can’t dive into this knowledgeably but I think this is the general consensus, unless they would do something smart and innovative with those things, but I digress. Even taking the anime in consideration, OP doesn’t use its narrator often, he mostly just shows up to recap on the fights or show where Zoro is lost at the moment. There needs to be a balance for both the fans and the ones who don’t know what they’re getting into. So worldbuilding is important, backstory is important, but what I believe should be the main focus is selling the characters and the spirit of One Piece.

This doesn’t mean doing as Percy Jackson the movies did by changing things unnecessarily, such as the character’s ages and the entire plot and the wit and spirit Rick Riordan put into the books. I think the Harry Potter franchise did the best in this case as they sold the spirit of the books, stuck to the plot, but was good at knowing when to trim some details off to fit the movie format.

So what I’m trying to say is that you’re translating something from a different medium to another, so it should be different from the main material. Of course, OP is going to be better as a manga because it works best as a manga. It has basically no restrictions on when it should stop and this way the writer, Oda Eiichiro, can more freely get people involved in the characters and the backstory. But there is a restriction on movies, and clearly the formula of shoving everything into a medium that has different rules isn’t working. The movies aren’t something the populus should expect to see an entire book in or an entire anime series in.

Another example is Howl’s Moving Castle, which is a stretch as it was inspired by the book and not based. But in my personal experience, I checked out the book because it did beautifully in an ANIMATED format but was completely different from the book.

So, if ATLA had been given and promised multiple movies, then they should’ve stuck to the plot. If possible stick to the plot. But it wasn’t because they weren’t promised another movie. And I believe, trying to fit the entirety of season one into one movie wasn’t the right choice for a solo movie. They should’ve cut it down. They should’ve stopped after the Winter Solstice, maybe cutting out Avatar Kyoshi and Omashu, though those are really important parts in themselves. The success of a movie done right, even though it didn’t have everything could’ve brought on the chance of another and maybe even more live action movies.

If OP is given more movies then they should stick to the plot. But the big difference between OP and ATLA is their versatility. OP as an anime series is more malleable and, in my opinion, has written the better filler arcs of anime. ATLA had a strict almost book like structure that builds off of each episode. So OP can have the possibility of straying off the original plot more than ATLA had.

To sum up, sell the spirit and character, never change things unnecessarily like Percy Jackson, don’t stick to the plot with a giant of a story like One Piece, and treat this like what it is: an action and adventure movie.

I know for a fact, it’s almost a given, that the movie will begin with Gol D. Roger’s execution and his last words about the one piece that prompted the Pirate Era. (and then Cinema Sins will say ‘roll credits’). Then it can go multiple ways. A montage of Luffy meeting his crew, young seventeen Luffy about to leave with his little boat, thinking back to Shanks and his hat, or just the flashback to Shanks putting the straw hat on luffy, and my personal favorite is just cutting to Luffy’s grin and the crew fighting on the deck of the Sunny where they can show their relationship to each other while in combat and their role in the crew. Or maybe a mishmash of all of them.

My hopes are that they will make Chopper cute and– the elephant in the room–not whitewash the Straw Hat crew. Personally, Usopp and Brook should be played by black actors, Nami could be latina, Zoro should be asian, Robin could be filipino or Indian but definitely someone dark skinned, Sanji and Franky can be white but Sanji needs to be or must resemble a french origin. Luffy can be anything to be honest as long as he acts like the character.

And the thing is, One Piece didn’t catch on in America as well as Naruto did back in the day, because of the horrible 4kid’s adaption that tried to make the show kid friendly which One Piece really isn’t (and that whole issue with making things kid friendly or maybe even dumber for kid’s to understand is also something that gets on my nerves). It ruined the chance of the show to be something even more amazing than it already is. The same thing happened with the live action of ATLA which made people disinclined to check out the animated show and affected the success of Korra.

I’m very passionate about One Piece, it’s dear to my heart and I really hope the live action isn’t a complete flop. I don’t remember OP for the fights, honestly, (naruto fights are more well animated and interesting) and I don’t like OP for them either, I like the story, and the characters. Luffy and the others say some profound things that have resonated in me and motivate me to this day. OP makes me laugh and cry and feel a connection to the characters. Not saying it doesn’t have faults, but I can see why it made the top and has stayed the top in shonen manga.

This is just my messy attempt at making a suggestion for the infamous anime live action. Oh yeah, and there’s the whole deal with how weird and wacky one piece can be, especially for western audiences. Well, if they can handle a movie about humanized emojis I think they can handle a rubber man and a talking reindeer.

Really hoping live action FMA is good though.

Thank you to nchanstories who talked this through with me and who I can’t tag at the moment because theyre getting some rare hours of sleep

Time to spread some love!

So. Since today is Fanfiction Writer Appreciation Day and I’ve been so busy lateky I haven’t had the time to give feedback to all the wonderful writers that inspire me every single day (that’s about to change it two weeks time btw), I decided to make a list of my favorite fics of all time to show to all those wonderful writers that their words matter more than they know.

Let’s start, shall we?

so, sorry if this is random but i just recently got into the fandom because my new roommate is obsessed and forced me to read all the books 😂 i was just wondering what are the must-read drarry fics? xx thanks

I’m glad you asked *evil snickering*

1. Turn by Saras_Girl

One good turn always deserves another. Apparently. (I suggest you start with this one. it’s AMAZING and it’s one of the fanfics that got me into the fandom in the first place. If I think better, I think I will re-read it:)) )

2. On a Clear Day by Saras_Girl

Draco Malfoy is waiting for his real life to begin, and it appears that he’s not the only one. Coffee, charity, and the wisdom of the elderly. (in general, everything by Saras_Girl is completely genius but I’ve got a soft spot for this one)

3. All Life is Your to Miss by Saras_Girl

Professor Malfoy’s world is contained, controlled, and as solitary as he can make it, but when an act of petty revenge goes horribly awry, he and his trusty six-legged friend are thrown into Hogwarts life at the deep end and must learn to live, love and let go. (such a slow burn I think you might need some ice)

4. Temptation of the Warfront  by alizarincrims0n

Draco Malfoy is forced into hiding with the Golden Trio and dragged into their search for horcruxes. What ensues is a journey of redemption, unexpected friendships and an unwanted, turbulent romance with Harry Potter. Warnings for swearing, sexual content, and dark themes. (you can tell how good this one is by the fact that is the second fanfic that actually made me cry my heart out)

5. Reparations and Foundations  by Saras_Girl

R:  Harry is about to discover that the steepest learning curve comes after Healer training, and that second chances can be found in unexpected places.

F:  When one door closes, another one opens – with a bit of a push. Life, love and complications. (very beautifully written, with healer!harry and… just fantastic!)

6. Serpentes by xErised

It’s a shame that Draco Malfoy looks so good stripping in a club with stolen snakes, because Auror Harry’s got a job to do. (read this one if you are ok with VERY explicit content…. also it has a talking snake named Bacon so…)

7. Running on air by eleventy7

Draco Malfoy has been missing for three years. Harry is assigned the cold case and finds himself slowly falling in love with the memories he collects. (I’ve finished it in one day. it’s so gorgeously written I couldn’t imagine taking any breaks from it)

8. Twist of Fate by Oakstone730

Draco asks Harry to help him beat the Imperius curse during 4th year. The lessons turn into more than either expected. A story of redemption and forgiveness. (lots of warnings for the angst but also one of my favorites!! completely deserves a read)

9. Unexpected Consequences by lauren3210

Harry was going back to school. He was going to play Quidditch, sleep in lessons, hang out with his friends, and generally just enjoy being a kid for a change. And he was also going to do it while being bonded with Malfoy, because apparently life was just going to continue throwing curveballs at him. Harry didn’t know why he expected anything different. (bonding fic. I REPEAT! BONDING FIC)

10. Just Friends (or Why Draco Malfoy Shouldn’t Have Sex in His Office) by  unadulteratedstorycollector

Harry and Draco are Auror partners, friends, and um… well, that’s it. Yes, Hermione, that is it. At least it is until Harry catches him doing a certain something that he can’t get out of his mind. (I have no explanation of this one. nope. none. warning for the smut however…)

Oh, and here is a special one. This is the book that first got me into Drarry and even if it’s on Wattpad and not on the archive… I- *whispers* cried when it ended. SO YEAH, give it a try:)

It Was All Just A Game by Write_me227

When Draco comes up with an idea to mess with Harry during the Triwizard Tournament, will he be the one who will get burned in the end?

DiAnna44: Translating Beauty into Words

AO3 profile

Tumblr

I have never come across any Viktuuri fanfiction that is as beautifully and as carefully written as DiAnna44’s works. Beautiful, because of the way her words could seep into your soul and shake your entire being from the inside. Careful, because of the way she chooses her words, and the way she chooses which words to emphasize, and the way she emphasizes a certain word, giving that one word a thousand more meanings.

And her stories really are beautiful beautiful beautiful. And I am not exaggerating. Because for the first time ever, I found myself saying “I read a fanfic so beautiful that I started crying.” And I really did cry. I cried, not exactly because the stories were sad in itself, but because of what her stories made me feel, made me realized in my life.

If her fanfictions were published books, I would buy all of them and place them in my bookshelf next to The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupery, What Things Mean by Sophia Lee, and The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. (Actually, I don’t have my own bookshelf but you get what I mean.)

So while I was browsing through DiAnna44’s works in AO3, it came quite a shock to me that the most number of kudos that she has ever gotten on a work is around 700+, which is on The World Opened with You. And that story was for the Katsudon Big Bang; her other works are only around 100+, not even reaching the 200 mark. And this was quite disappointing for me because she deserves so much more.

Maybe this is because she’s the kind of writer who doesn’t write just to please others, to get kudos. She looks at writing as a writing experience. “It forces me to meet deadlines, to write in a way people can at least understand, and to expand my writing ability because I will only learn my own style if I continue to write,” she said. “but I think my fics are probably only liked by a select few who can stand my style of writing. I’m too wordy and poetic, and that can be annoying to some, but that’s okay.”

Ah, I guess I’m just a part of that “select few,” but I still think DiAnna44 deserves more love. Her masterpieces are worthy enough to be put on the limelight, and I hope others can see that too.

I'm trying to get back into zutara for zutara month! Do you have any fic recommendations to get me started?

o jesus, am i qualified enough for this??? i’d ask my friend una for more of this as she knows way more about this fandom than i do. and i’m relatively new in the fic game myself, even though i’ve loved the show for most of my life. and i’ve not read as many as i’m sure some of the more active zutarians have.

i do have a lil list, though!

  • once around the sun - this fic fucking changed my life. like… chapter twenty seven is where it’s fucking at, really. i just can’t get over it. when you read the whole thing, you’ll know what i’m talking about. i screamed into my hand while on a public transport vehicle for like twenty minutes, probably. character death warning, tho.
  • our fortunes together - this fic is my fucking jam. and you’ve got geriatric aang, so that’s always fun. and geriatric aang is adorable. but you’re in this for zutara, let’s be real, so there’s plenty of that. my favourite part of this fic is how it treats zuko as a survivor of abuse. it’s so fucking validating and it made me cry. there’s a bit where aang apologises to zuko and it… it’s so sweet and simple but it made me weep. as a survivor myself, this fic really spoke to me.
  • gods & monsters - i’m going to do you the solid that this fic never gave me: MAJOR CHARACTER DEATH WARNING. SO MANY DEATHS. ALSO MINE - MY DEATH, BECAUSE IT MURDERED ME. but i can’t even be mad at it that much, it’s so fucking good. the characterisation and the plot is so solid and gorgeous, it’s phenomenal. the writing isn’t revolutionary or anything but it’s so evocative, it’s gorgeous. but god, it ruined me. i lost the will to live for like three days after i read this in one sitting. and i’ve watched the entirety of torchwood: children of earth. so fuck me, this fic was fucking depressing. most depressing zutara fic i’ve ever read, hands down. i’m mad at it for not having a major character death warning but like… it’s so good and really, logically speaking, it made sense in the narrative. STILL.
  • lilacs and lily pads + bones - LALP is the prequel to bones and my god, it’s so fucking gorgeous i want to weep. this fic is truly, masterfully done. really, anything by this author is pretty much guaranteed gold.
  • southern lights - this fic is beautifully done. /stefon voice: this fic’s got everything. it’s got fluff, it’s got angst, it’s got humour, it’s got young adults being hormonal young adults, it’s got phenomenal characterisation, it’s incredibly written. the worldbuilding that the author built up on from the OG atla universe is just… the bomb dot com dot org dot uk. it’s incomplete but it’s so worth keeping up with.
  • didn’t know my heart - gorgeous, gorgeous rewrite of atla starting mid-book 2. and you’ve got an awkward, lovestruck lil baby zuko and that’s always fun to read.
  • swing and a miss - this one’s got a really interesting format but it works. it’s also wonderfully written and the way the author plays with the timeline is also superb.
  • such selfish prayers - i can’t even begin to describe what an incredible fic this is. it’s very katara-centric, which i adore, and you see her journey into becoming this incredible socio-political powerhouse she could’ve been. the author took great care to add such depth and nuance to the world they were writing in and i loved that. it’s pretty lowkey in terms of zutara content but there’s enough to keep me happy. plus, the way the aangst was dealt with was masterfully done. the zutara in it is very cute and very lowkey.

that’s… all i’ve got (in my AO3 bookmarks anyway and i forget to bookmark a lot of fics that i like) and i can’t really think of any more rn. it’s like 5:27AM and i’m just about to go to bed. but i wanted to answer this before i went on my way. i don’t really check tumblr that often???

also, i write a bit of fic myself. i’m still here is canon compliant, directly after ‘the southern raiders’, and it’s canon compliant until it’s not. i update that pretty regularly because i’m obsessed so it should be finished soon. i like to think it’s p cute but hey, you decide.

i hope this helps you!!! listen, i’m sure there’s plenty of people out there who could make a way more comprehensive list than me, considering this fandom is like… 12 years old, probably. enjoy! xxx
