Thank you all so so much for this milestone!
I was racking my brain deciding what to do for this given that I skipped the 400 follower milestone. I’ll will do a follow forever where I mention some cool dudes on the Tumbl-dryer, Give you some insight to how I manage this blog and why I started it in the first place. Oh and I’ll sneak in some honorable mentions for the people that deserve it not just because their blog is great but because they’re great people overall.
I don’t blame some of you for not reading til the end because this one is a doozie. TLDR: Thank you all so much for the love and the motivation to keep going with this Tumblr blog, It is my pride and joy!!!
I started this blog about a year ago when I was at a focal point in my life where I didn’t really know where to go or what to do with myself I was in need of some introspection and psychological development. I’ve always had a Tumblr account and I don’t know where I found his blog but @cresciento was the first anime blog I found and I really got back into anime with New Game! It was just such a good anime that I started paying for Crunchyroll Premium and haven’t looked back one bit. I started following more people on Tumblr and eventually getting into a Discord server with a bunch of anime blogs. I got exposed to all sorts of different and lovely people that ironically are better people than some of my real friends that I know outside of Tumblr and the internet in general.
I think that the most discouraging part about it was the very beginning of this blog’s existence, because you’d wake up and look at your blog with like 20 followers and no notes and it was really really depressing in some ways. You’d never think about making it past those initial 100 followers but I have and the numbers haven’t stopped climbing. My advice, Just keep going and I’m sure the people will come.
Tumblr over the past year has been very very rewarding for me not only as a hobby but as a way to connect with people that I otherwise wouldn’t have the opportunity to meet with otherwise. I used to have a YouTube channel where I would talk about game related stuff, with very limited success as you can probably tell. After I ditched my YouTube channel I felt a lot less stressed because of self-imposed deadlines and hours worth of editing I don’t have to do anymore. Tumblr doesn’t require you to spend hours editing your queue, or writing a description. It’s all very relaxed and not so insane if you’re picking up what I’m putting down.
Usually when it comes to saving stuff I would right-click and save as an image, but recently I’ve been using IFTTT to archive and save all of my Tumblr posts so that I save everything and I take all the legwork out of the equation. One backup to Google Photos in “high quality” which is 16 megapixels for photos and 1080p for video. And one more backup to Google Drive for good measure just in case.
I should probably throw out some of those good blogs I’ve been seeing over the past little bit.
Some honorable mentions include people whose blogs are of undeniably good quality. And they’re great people in general
In all I just want to say thank you to everyone of my 500+ followers because I really wouldn’t have the motivation or even the will to use Tumblr at all. The amount of notes that I see on a daily basis tells me that I’m doing something to make someone else’s day better in a seemingly small but important way. That’s what made this worth doing, that’s why I ditched the YouTube channel for my blog.
I just hope that I can provide the same level of quality or better that can keep you all stickin around like a pancake to a pan. And again, Thank you for making this whole blog worthwhile!
