theres no limits

Usually this kind of personal journey is explored on the small screen with a younger character, most often with teens in coming-of-age stories. But it was important for the Supergirl producers to be true to life and explore this with an adult character.

“After talking to [executive producer] Greg Berlanti and doing some research on my own, anecdotally it seems like people who come out later in life come out because they’ve met someone,” Kreisberg says. “There’s a specific person for whom they’ve fallen. The idea that Alex who never really had a strong romantic connection with anybody and had come to dismiss it, and then meets Maggie and has her world turned upside down, it seems like interesting territory to us, that it wasn’t about a young teenager coming to grips with it. It was somebody who was an adult and in some ways had more to overcome on an internal level to get to the point where she could recognize that she has these feelings.” (x)

Reasons Bruce (ineffectively) used the Batglare at Thanksgiving dinner:

“Stop whining, Todd.”
“But did you die Damian?”
“Yes actually I did.”

“What do you mean I wasn’t invited! I practically live here!”
“Practically being the operative word there, Brown.”

“So how’s everyone’s school going?”
“That’s hilarious Dickiebird.”

“Is that a batarang?! Are you seriously using a batarang to cut your turkey?!”
“Yes, Tim.”

“I’m just going to take my plate and eat in my room…”
“No Duke! Stay!”
“Dick’s right. And we haven’t had a food fight the past two years so you’ve got nothing to worry about.”
“If you say so Tim…”

Jason and Stephanie started a food fight.

It's okay to be a man who...
  • Is emotionally sensitive
  • Is honest about having feelings
  • Is open about having flaws
  • Likes cute and pretty things
  • Likes dressing in cute and pretty things
  • Is delicate
  • Is elegant
  • Is unsure whether it’s okay to be those things
  • Dances and sings with enthusiasm and heart
  • Empathizes with the feelings and experiences of others
  • Admits being wrong
  • Cries

And it’s understandable that you’re afraid to show all of that to a world that seems determined to erase it from you.

No matter what they say, you are who you are.

Jang Geum (장금) was supposedly the first female Royal Physician in Korean history. She has been mentioned more than seven times in the Annals of the Joseon Dynasty, appearing for the first time when Jang Geum took care of King Jung Jong’s pregnant second queen. In 1524, the Annals noted that “Dae Jang Geum was better than any other medical women in the Palace. As a result, she was permitted to look after the King”, becoming the first female doctor of a Korean king. The last entry that mentioned Jang Geum was on October 29, 1544, 17 days before the death of King Jung Jong.
