Oh no I made a new OC. 🙈 Have yourself an apprentice, Badgerclaw!
Name: Honeypaw Clan: Shadowclan Status: Apprentice Appearance: A petit, pretty flame-point she-cat with large ears, blue eyes, and a small pink nose. Personality: -An enthusiastic goody-two-shoes
-Has a good mind for facts/trivia. Would totally be a bookworm. Total know-it-all
-Can be annoyingly optimistic
-A decent hunter, but has a tendency to freeze when faced with combat
-Every cat wonders why she didn’t choose to become a medicine cat apprentice instead. If asked she dodges the question
-Secretly very insecure about her ability to be a warrior, but very desperate to prove herself. Her worry occasionally sends her into a panic. Tries to compensate for her lack of physical ability with knowledge and trivia. Relationship with Badgerclaw:
-She doesn’t seem at all affected by his grumpiness
-Badgerclaw is such a shitty hunter that she secretly asks fellow apprentices for hunting tips. Is already a better hunter than Badgerclaw.
-Best buddies. Badgerclaw will quietly sit and listen to her rattle off about clan history, prey behavior, etc for hours on end. (He may or may not just be spacing out though)
-Relationship is entirely platonic, but no cat seems to believe it
-Badgerclaw has a very difficult time finding a balance between irrationally over-protective, and dangerously hands-off during training
PSA: if your grown ass man is too scared to accidentally brush up against a wrapped tampon, it’s time to find a new man. Your period is natural and shouldn’t freak him out. #RemoveTheStigma #PrettyLittlePSA
fluff…so much fluff, also sorry for any typos or mistakes. If you find any, drop by my inbox and tell me please?
Count: 3.1k …sorry?
At one of Shawn’s Q&A’s, the fans seem to be more interested in you and
Aaliyah than they are Shawn.
There was a Shawn imagine where it was similar but it didn’t include Aaliyah or
the same questions. I asked the writer of that fic ( @1-800-sassy-mendes) if she
was ok with it and she was! Hope you understand! Xx
I actually stayed up last night thinking about the bros weapons in that solarpunk/steampunk verse and came to the conclusion that I desperately want to keep the hammers. so yeah. hammers.
the way marios hammer is designed he can light it on fire anytime. luigis is actually pretty tricky bc electricity isnt as straightforward as fire, but I imagine it can jumpstart any kind of machine that runs on electricity bc nintendo logic
their secondary weapons would be something they use along with their hammers. marios is a pick (chisel) and luigis is a pair of pliers.
Whenever a prof launches themselves into a diatribe against laptops as notetaking devices bc “studies have shown… blahblahblah bad for concentration blahblahblah bad for memory blahblah but-what-about-my-belief-that-my-ego-is-more-important-than-the-needs-of-students-whose-learning-disability-and/or-neurotype-probably-excluded-them-from-the-aforementioned-studies-in-the-first-place-therefore-skewing-the-data blah” I just want to scream some ridiculous utterance of the “we can’t all be neurotypicals karen” flavour but instead I just stay quiet and brace myself for the upcoming public humiliation when, in two minutes, the prof asks me why I haven’t put my laptop in my bag and I have to say, in front of possibly hundreds of other students, that I have permission from the Disability’s Office and that they already have all the paperwork in their inbox.
@ people who are complaining there’s no new character development in Lance’s vlog:
You’re right, there wasn’t.
None of the vlogs so far have given us any new information or character development. All they have done is maybe enhanced or emphasized what we already knew from the show.
Stop complaining, jeez
In case anyone is wondering WHY I’m making this statement, let me clarify.
Some people are upset because they think Keith’s and Allura’s vlog had character development but Lance’s didn’t. This is not the case. If you didn’t know that Keith had abandonment issues and regrets his temper and pushes people away because he’s scared of getting hurt, you missed a lot in the show itself, it was very clear. If you thought Allura’s feelings about the Paladins was new information, you weren’t paying enough attention to her during the show. All this was there, the vlogs just took a few aspects and emphasize it, made it more clear. Nothing new. We shouldn’t exepct the other vlogs to present something new either, and even though we’ve seen other aspects of Lance in the show (his loyalty, his fear, his homesickness) only one of his traits was chosen. I get the impression a lot of folks wanted the vlog to emphases Lance’s negative emotions, but if they did that for all the Paladins that would be pretty sad vlog project.
End lesson: pay close attention to ALL the characters in canon, and you won’t be surprised/disappointed by the vlogs
One of my favourite things about the Orphan Black finale is that, despite the happy ending, Sarah is still not completely alright. She doesn’t have Mrs. S anymore and without the constant life-threatening situations, is scared of things going back to the way they were before she found Beth and stole her identity. The adrenaline has worn off and she no longer knows what to do and fears going back to her old bad habits. She skips out on her high school exam, tries to sell the house, and isolates herself.
She sees other people being happy with the lives they could go back to but doesn’t know how to do that and doesn’t want to burden them. And it’s painful to watch but it’s realistic. So often on television we see characters go on traumatic journeys and be perfectly alright once they’re over. We see the credits roll and assume all is well. But that’s not always the case in real life. Trauma follows you sometimes, like a shadow from another room. It’s not all consuming, but it never quite leaves and it wears you down over time. Often to the point where you feel like a hollow shell. You force yourself to be happy for others but quietly resenting them because they don’t understand what you’re going through and you’re too exhausted to reach out to them so you get caught in a vicious, often destructive, cycle. And we see this here with Sarah. Not only that, but we see her start to break out of it as well.
Sarah has an excellent support network of her sisters. Not only are they there, but they reach out to her. They listen to her, share their stories, help each other. While she always had Felix and Mrs. S, Sarah didn’t really have any good friends and was kind of a drifter. But now she’s more grounded. She has people who she can reach out to and who will always be there for her. And in real life, having a good support network can make an incredible difference in how a person is able to recover from traumatic events and situations. I love this show, all five seasons of it, but those last twenty minutes of Sarah trying to rebuild her life mean more to me than I can put into words right now. Thank you Orphan Black.
