there is no greater joy in life than this face

There is no greater feeling than the one you get when you can see a smile in someone’s face because of you. For your attitude, your kindness, your love, your support. May this be your daily goal, today and always. It WILL make the difference in someone’s life.

Sometimes, we can be excited for our friends and their accomplishments and then, in the back of our minds we can also think…why not me? Maybe you look at others your age, people at your church, or in your workplace or at your school and wonder why certain areas of your life haven’t progressed in the way that theirs have.

Maybe everyone you know seems to be getting in happy, fulfilling relationships and you’re still single. Maybe everyone is getting married and having children, and you and your boyfriend are still going back and forth. Perhaps your career or your business is just not taking off no matter how hard you work, and you can’t help but be reminded of that when you see other people’s accomplishments on social media or LinkedIn.

Whether this is something you think about regularly or it only crosses your mind occasionally, remember this:

As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. - Isaiah 55:9

Whatever your thoughts are about your past, present, or future, God’s thoughts are higher. He doesn’t need everything to come together the way you planned it in order for His plan for you to prosper. This doesn’t mean that life will be perfect. It doesn’t mean that you won’t face mountains, but what it does mean is that God always had a plan that so much greater than your “why me?” or “why not me?” moments in life.

Continue to pray daily and make the most of every day that God has given you, and don’t let comparison steal the joy of the journey God has you on. It’s okay to be inspired and motivated by others, but don’t let them become the way you measure yourself. You can congratulate your friends and hope the best for them, but know that an opportunity or accomplishment for them is not a loss for you. “God has something just for you,” is not a cliche. Because of Jesus Christ, this is The Truth that is written all over your life, so embrace it, and be excited about what God has in store for your future!

Amazing.

Just amazing. He couldn’t find any other words to describe how this whole situation felt to him.

But her? Her he could describe with words as divine, blissful, angelic. She was all that and more. She did not numb him or let him live in deceit. She hated it, when he wanted to swallow the pain, when he wanted to take all the blame for everything in this world upon himself. She hated it. But she supported him, instead of letting him suffer alone, she tried to be there for him. She not only tried but in the end she did succeed, for it was her love that kept him going towards a brighter future for the both of them.

Her love spread through his body slowly but surely. At first it was a tiny small, insignificant sand corn, but it grew with time, care and love. After a while the small sand corns started to pile up and soon the warm sand corns were sturdily enveloped around his heart.

She had a way of making his heart bloom. It finally opened up and he wasn’t as scared as he used to be. He didn’t even think about that other person, his worries or anything else.

With every kind word, small smile and all those little things she did for him – things she actually did subconsciously. For instance; since he had some trouble with his eyes, she would always pull the curtains so that the light wasn’t too bright for him to see. Every time he felt uneasy, as though she could feel it she would lightly touch him – a fleeting touch to his shoulder, a pat on the head which was accompanied by a smile, or even a hug and when she did hug him – she did not want to let go. All the times she cooked for him, she made sure it was the food he loved. He felt home again.
Home? Home is where…where she is.

They rarely went out, probably because she was scared that something might happen to him in the busy streets. Since she wasn’t really sure, if she could protect him and guide him.

Thus they usually watched a movie, played board games or he would take pictures of her and she – she painted him. She loved watching silly romantic movies and action movies. But he never knew how much one person was able to cry. She cried over every small thing. If she saw a chocolate commercial she cried, because she wanted one. Any kind of animal on the screen made her eyes water. She even cried while watching Spiderman. For some it might have been annoying, but the fact that she was capable of showing so many emotions, that she was so emotional and also so open with her emotions, made him love her.

But a sight he loved the most, was when she painted.

                                        Ah, how beautiful.

He was seated on the couch while she was sitting on the floor with her back leaning against the wall. »I just hope you don’t wear such clothes outside.« He said teasingly as he gazed at her appearance.

She was wearing striped underwear and a big gray baggy shirt – that went over her thighs.  Her hair was pinned aside with a painting brush, she sat with her knees to her chest and on top of her knees was her sketch book. He other utensils were laying all around her, like a shield protecting her while she was trying to concentrate. She then looked up at him and grinned and slightly spread her feet to the side. Teasing him to see if he was actually going to look.

                                                      ……………

And….bam. He did. So cheeky, such a cheeky little V.

»Hmmm, complaining I see?  But, how come you are staring at my panties so obviously and with such a smug grin? As if you don’t like what you see.« She said while winking at him.

He only chuckled at that and proceeded to take pictures of her.
A muse that is what she was to him. It has been a long time, since he was able to take pictures so carefree and with such passion.
The way she looked when she was in deep thought was something he deeply loved to see.

Even if she was a carefree and bubbly person, it was those times while she was drawing and painting – that she truly looked like herself.
She was letting him see her at her most vulnerable moment. For that he was thankful for.

He didn’t know what time it was and he didn’t care, he was actually staying at her place, since he came to check up on her.
It was here that he felt safe.

At first he thought, that she might not want him here. But as she returned one day, with a large grocery bag in one hand – filled with things just for him. PJ’s, a toothbrush, matching cups and bowls.

He thought, that with the matching sets she was being very straightforward. But when he asked, why she bought matching ones she only grinned and said »Because me and you…we are a match«. Her cheesy line filled the room with silence and after a while he saw her face redden.

Maybe it was in that moment, that he started to love her.
Moments passed and while he was in deep thought, she was already gone and judging by the noise coming from the kitchen, she preparing dinner.
He followed the sound of the noise from the pans and her humming, she was dancing around while cooking.

Maybe he too, was making her happy just as she made him feel good? He slowly sneaked up on her, hugged her from the back and gave her a kiss on the back of her neck.

»You.« He whispered.
A small humm.
»Me?« she exclaimed in feigned surprise.
»Yes you, you are so…wonderful.«
She turned around and smiled at him, stepping on her tip toes and kissing him on the cheek.
»Tell me, how wonderful I am. You never tell me how you feel.«
He hugged her and hid his reddened face.
»You are to me, like the sun is to the sky. You are my sun and I am a mere sunflower following you.«
Maybe it was wrong to give her a similar comparison like he did to Rika, but he did feel like she was such a light and so bright he had to follow her.

And as he looked at her face, she slapped his head.

»Boo-boo~,  I am not the sun, neither are you a sunflower.«

He was confused at that, but she started to caress his cheek and continued.
»You are you and I am me. V, sweetheart, don’t you know…we were meant to be. I am here to make you happy. Don’t make me a greater person than I am. Don’t undermine yourself. Do you even know how much joy you bring to my life? Before you, I could not draw, but now…when I look at that silly smile and hear your voice, all I want to do is draw. I love you for that.«
He embraced her. He held her close to him, he breathed in her smell and started to cry.

For in all his years, he never felt so free and so loved.
This is the person, I want to marry. This person, yes, I will truly make her happy.

They held each other, now both together in the bed. Crying and laughing and kissing each other to good health.
As they finally fell asleep – both exhausted from all those emotional exchanges.

V’s phone buzzed and a small sign: »You have one new message« as innocent as it may seem – this message was surely going to stir everything up.

John Robert Tomlin [September 1,1982 - April 20,1999]

“Born September 1, John Tomlin was a young man with a broad smile and bright eyes. As a kid he loved cars, baseball, family and God. As a teen he added Chevy trucks and the Green Bay Packers to that list, and his love for Jesus developed in him a strong set of Christian morals.

John had a gentle disposition that parents and girlfriends dream of; the kind that didn’t need a heavy hand of discipline and that made him an old-fashioned gentleman on dates. But his sunny disposition could not keep him from entering what many teens enter; a dark tunnel of loneliness where God seemed far away.

John didn’t stay long in that tunnel. Seven months before his death he reconnected with God and rediscovered the joy of his faith. That faith sustained John with courage and strength to face evil during the last moments of his life in the Columbine High School library. In heaven now, John fully understands the truth of the words written long ago: ‘You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.’ 1 John 4:4”

Christian thoughts or verse or anything to help with the madness that went on In the world today? thanks, love this account, bring so much joy and wisdom into my life.

Thank you. I’m glad to hear it :)

Here are some Bible verses for Tough Times and Times of Trouble:

The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid?  When the wicked advance against me to devour me, it is my enemies and my foes who will stumble and fall. Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear; though war break out against me, even then I will be confident. (Psalm 27:1–3)

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come. Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 9:35-39)

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. (John 14:27)

Do not be anxious in anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. (Philippians 4:5-6)

You are my hiding place; You will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance. I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with My loving eye on you. (Psalm 32:7-8)

The Lord your God will fight for you, you need only be still. (Exodus 14:14)

They will fight you, but they will fail. For I am with you, and I will take care of you. I, the Lord, have spoken! (Jeremiah 1:19)

When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears, and rescues them from all their troubles. The LORD is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit. (Psalm 34:17-18)

So we can confidently say, “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?” (Hebrews 13:6)

We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. (2 Corinthians 4:8-9)

The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms. He will drive out your enemies before you, saying, ‘Destroy them! (Deuteronomy 33:27)

No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of Me, saith the Lord. (Isaiah 54:17)

Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you. (Deuteronomy 31:6)

The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. Those who know your name trust in you, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you. (Psalm 9:9-10)

In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. (1 Peter 1:6-7)

Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him. (James 1:12)

Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. (James 1:2-4)

Fear thou not for I am with thee. Be not dismayed for I am thy God. I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. (Isaiah 41:10)

Rafinha Alcantara Imagine for Anonymous

It was your daughter’s fifth birthday today and in order to celebrate you and her had gone to a Barcelona game in order to support her father. There was nothing your daughter liked more than being able to watch Rafinha play. Your daughter was a complete daddy’s girl. She had good reason to be, as well. Rafinha was an amazing father. It was always apparent how much he loved her. The love was reciprocated one hundred percent by your daughter. It was always apparent how much she loved her father.

Along with today being your daughters birthday, it was also yours ad Rafinha’s anniversary. On this very day, about 7 years ago, the two of you had finally gotten married. That day had been one of the best days of your life. There was no greater feeling than being able to marry the love of your life. The past seven years had been amazing. There had been ups and downs but you wouldn’t trade a single moment of the past seven years for all of the riches in the world.

As you sat in your seat with your daughter in your lap, you could see the apparent joy in her face. She loved coming to these games. She would always talk about how when she gets older, she is going to play football, just like her daddy. You and Rafinha always supported her. If that was what she wanted to do, then you and Rafinha would be happy as long as she was happy.

The happiness in her eyes, which was reflected by the brightness that was present there, seemed to get brighter every time her daddy had the ball. She would cheer when some of the other Barcelona players scored, but when it was her daddy that scored, she went absolute nuts. Sometimes, you think that you would go deaf with the way she yells and cheers for her father. Overall, though, it’s very endearing to watch.

That brightness in her eyes seemed to be very bright at the moment. The reason for this being that Rafinha currently had the ball, with an assist from Marc, and when he got the ball, he kicked it toward the net. Your daughter almost jumped out of her seat when he kicked it. You had to hold her so that she didn’t fall. She did, however scream when the ball hit the back of the net.

Rafinha threw his hands into a heart and ran towards where you and your daughter were sitting. You knew what that sign meant. It was something you and Rafinha did a lot when you were dating. It had started out as a joke. You had shown him the sign when you had left to go on a trip with your friends and he dropped you off at the airport. Ever since then, whenever the two of you were far away from each other, you would show each other that sign.

This tradition carried over to your daughter. It became a family thing. Whenever Rafinha was away for a game, you and your daughter would often video call with him. At the end of each video call, all three of you would form the heart and then sign off.

To see him celebrated his goal with that made it so special. “Look mommy, papai is dedicating his goal to us. She quickly put her hands up and did the heart thing in return. You did the same. "Yeah, Because he did that, don’t you think that after the game, we should do something nice for him.” All she did in response to your suggestion was nod.

*****

After the game, in which barca won 2-0, you and your daughter were waiting for Rafinha by the car. “Mommy, I think that when papai comes out here, you should give him a kiss.” You leaned down to where she stood next to you and tapped her on the nose. Her face scrunched up at the touch. “Oh yeah, and why should mommy do that?” She simply smiled. “Because papai likes your kisses.” You threw your head back and laughed. Your daughter could be so cute sometimes. You lifted her up so she was in your arms. “I think that Papai would like it better if you gave him a kiss. He likes yours more than he likes mine.”

“That is true, I do.” The two of you turned from where you were when you heard your husbands voice. Turning around, you could see him walk to where you were. Your daughter began squirming in your arms so you let her down. As soon as her feet hit the ground she ran over to Rafinha, who picked her up and spun her around.

Watching the two of them together brought a huge smile on your face. You walked over to where the rest of your family was. As you got closer you could hear your daughter talking all about her father’s goal and his goal celebration. “When I saw you do it daddy, I was so happy.” Rafinha placed a small kiss on her cheeks. “I’m glad you liked it birthday girl."

"Do I get a kiss as well because I am beginning to feel a bit left out?” Rafinha looked away from the little girl and up to face you. “We wouldn’t want that to happen now would we.” With those words Rafinha pulled you into a kiss. The kiss wasn’t very long because your daughter was in the middle of both of you but, nevertheless, it was a wonderful kiss. You could feel the butterflies in your stomach. Even after seven years of being married and nine years of simply being in a relationship, Rafinha still had that effect on you.

“Mommy, papai, can we go get ice cream?” Your daughter forced you both to look at her with that statement. She was giving you both the puppy dog eyes. “Alright, but after we get ice cream, we’re going home and you, little missy, are going to bed. You still have school tomorrow. Promise.” You held up your pinky for her to promise on. “I promise, mommy.” She linked her pinky with yours.

Rafinha placed you daughter in the car seat that was in the back. After you saw that she was buckled in properly, you were about to get in the passenger side of the car when Rafinha stopped you. He pulled you into a hug. “Happy anniversary.” You leaned away from the hug and placed a small peck on his lips. “Happy anniversary.” You were just about to get into the car when once more he pulled you back. “That kiss is not enough. I expect a present later on when we get home. For my goal and for our anniversary."

The little smirk on his face made it obvious exactly what he wanted as a present but you still decided to play dumb. "And what would you like for your present.” He chuckled but played along. “Preferably you, with as little clothing as possible. Maybe even a bow.” You lightly wacked him in the shoulder. “We should get home then, the faster we get home and put our daughter to bed, the faster you get your present.” That was all it took to have him rushing to get to the drivers seat of the car. You laughed and followed him, taking your place next to him in the passenger seat.

- I hope you like it :D

I'm curious. What do you think would be the MBTI personalities for each of the Greek students from TSH? Also, the reasoning behind your answers. Thank you!

I’m not particularly knowledgeable about Myers-Briggs typing (no more than taking the test and knowing my friends’ types), so my answer was facilitated by sectvmsemprasgraphics, which are not only beautiful but also kind of a great summary.

I’m not sure I’m qualified or motivated enough to give you all the details about my choices, but I linked every types to an in-depth description of their personality. If you disagree with me, I’d be happy to justify something or to talk about it!

Henry : INTJ – The Mastermind

Often intellectual, INTJs enjoy logical reasoning and complex problem-solving. They approach life by analyzing the theory behind what they see, and are typically focused inwards, on their own thoughtful study of the world around them. INTJs are drawn to logical systems and are much less comfortable with the unpredictable nature of other people and their emotions. They are typically independent and selective about their relationships, preferring to associate with people who they find intellectually stimulating.

They are perceptive about systems and strategy, and often understand the world as a chessboard to be navigated. They want to understand how systems work, and how events proceed : the INTJ often has a unique ability to foresee logical outcomes. They enjoy applying themselves to a project or idea in depth, and putting in concentrated effort to achieve their goals.

This one is self-explanatory. Henry is obviously an introvert, focused on his own thoughts and knowledge instead of the world around him; highly logical, he judges to better act and forecast, and although his intellect allows him to plan ahead and guess what will happen next, it’s only because he knows his environment so well that everything’s a pawn; his intuition, his sensing is definitely undermined by his analytical, cold mind. Learning and playing are the most important things to him —and by playing, I mean manipulating, pushing the boundaries of experimentation.

i. There’s no greater recommendation than
the smile on a friend’s face. I need to know
nothing else of your life. Joy, I have learned,
is every star in the galaxy, condensed
in the eyes of those we love.

ii. Life has made me a warrior,
from a very tender age. It has scraped
the skin of my knees, the palm of my hands.
It crawled into my mind to whisper and lie,
and I have fought it every day since.

iii. You can cry. Salt to clean the wound,
to keep away the evil eye, to let it hurt.
Sometimes, you have to walk until you faint,
Burn your hand and prick your finger,
You have to feel pain, so you can understand it.

iv. I am sad today, but this will not last.
Tomorrow, or in a year, I will trust someone else
that I shouldn’t, I will smile alongside a stranger
and I’ll allow them to ruin me. Then,
I will stand on bruised legs and try again.

My Untitled Zutara Smutfic.

Zuko’s aesthetic is one that has to sink in and grow roots in a girl’s soul before she finds herself attracted to him. Katara remembers seeing him for the first time and thinking how ugly he was - though, she thinks, the fact that he’d invaded her village, manhandled her grandmother, and kidnapped her new friend had probably biased her a little. Not to mention, it’s hard to have the hots for a guy when he’s chasing you all over the world.

It wasn’t until their brief imprisonment underneath Ba Sing Se that she’d noticed - really noticed - that if not for that permanent grimace charred into his face, he might have been handsome. Gorgeous, even. At the time she’d thought it was a cruel shame for such a beautiful boy to bear such a hideous mark.

Now, though, the mark doesn’t seem so hideous.

you have to write another part to 'Yay another Friends prompt! Season 3/4 AU, Kate marries Josh but says Castle's name at the wedding. Author's choice if he's actually there or not.' pleaseeeeeeee :)

Seven or eight people have asked for a second part. If you haven’t read part one, I’d do that before reading this one.

By the time Rick has stumbled through, climbed across, and hastily apologized to the ten or so wedding guests placed between him and the aisle he’s out of breath with the effort and the adrenaline that’s demanding he go harder, move faster, and find the woman who just left her fiance at the altar minutes after speaking his name.

Holy shit, Kate Beckett said his name in her wedding vows.

The realization sizzles through him like a lightning strike, prompting a ridiculous sounding laugh to pop out of his mouth as he busts through the double doors. The concierge is already on the other side, disgruntled expression and disapproving body language that only grows when Rick sees the flash of white organza disappear around the corner that leads to the elevators.

“BECKETT!” He notices the stares (some amused, some disapproving like the concierge, and others simply questioning why a man is screaming in the lobby of perhaps the nicest hotel in the city) but Rick can’t be bothered. He tears across the lobby like a man possessed, dodging a bellhop pushing a loaded down luggage cart and almost toppling an elderly lady being escorted behind it.

Behind him he can hear the shouts of alarm, the footfalls of what he suspects are security guards giving chase to stop him from terrorizing the interior of the place and scandalizing the guests.

Rick pushes himself to move that much faster, balancing himself with a hand at the wall while he rounds the corner where he suspects she’s headed, grunting at the way his left knee protests the slide of his shoes across the slick floor. He’s sure he’ll pay for that tomorrow, maybe even later tonight but it doesn’t stop him. Not when he can see her, ivory material shining even without the glittering, delicate belt that spans her waist or the elaborate jewelry that he’d almost bet was a wedding present.

“Kate!” She’s already onto the elevator when he’s managed enough breath to call out, freezing in place with wide eyes that only grow with surprise as her head turns. He doesn’t stop running, drinking in the sight of a woman he hasn’t laid eyes on for three hundred and forty-seven days.

Rick’s glimpse is fleeting, the doors sliding closed before either of them can react. It makes him sag in defeat, kick at the door in a way that makes his toe hurt and serves to aggravate the stitch in his side from sprinting the length of a hotel lobby.

After this, he’s definitely working out more. Rick makes that decision as his eyes track the numbers above the door, finger stabbing at the button that will deliver him his own ride.

He’s given her up twice, allowed Kate Beckett to slip through his fingers and into relative happiness with another man, but he’s never come close to getting over her.

He has no intention of losing her a third time.

you are all so beautiful. the hearts and faces that flood my dash bring me so much joy. i love getting familiar with your minds and seeing through your eyes. i love reading your opinions and knowing what life is throwing at you and how brave and honest you all are to face it and grow from it. i love seeing the behind-the-scenes versions of people i’ve never met and knowing what an honor it is to peer deeper into hearts that other people may never know. i just want you all to know that you’re loved, you matter, and you are part of something much greater than yourself. i hope that you face this day with the gratitude and peace that comes in the remembrance of the monumental love that made history and made a way for you and me many fridays ago. He is good, and i’m thankful for how His goodness shines through your life into mine.

Please know

That you, the unique human being that you are, is deeply deeply loved by God. You are loved by Love Himself so extravagantly that He poured out Himself upon the cross, that of immeasurable worth and value, for the purpose of redeeming you so that you could know Him intimately.

Life is not a game of playing church and putting down tally marks of what you do to make yourself feel good. Your entire purpose as a human being, is to walk intimately with God Almighty. Opening up the space for you to know Him is precisely where His glory is. It is when we grow in intimacy with Him, when He molds and forms our heart, that life starts to regrow in your inner being.

So I implore you dearly loved child of the Endless, make time in your day to walk with Him. A Dad wants to know His children and He wants His children to know Him. It isn’t enough to just know about God, know God. Life is not going to be easy, you will face adversity, trials and much more. But what greater joy is it to walk through the whims of life with the Author of life. Walk in freedom, walk in life, walk in love; walk with Elohim. The King of Kings it not far off; but closer than the bones within your body and the blood throughout your veins.
