there is a lot of doctor who happening in this picture

This photo.  I’m dead.  I *just* joined Tumblr, so I hope I’m doing this right - I just wanted to share this story with everyone.

MegaCon Tampa 2016 was my (and my kids’) first con and it was the most amazing experience.  I was so nervous about the photos because I paid a LOT of money for the photo/autograph package and my kids tend to make silly faces in pictures and not smile.  My 3yo (mini doctor) does not like strangers (and I wasn’t sure whether, at his age, he would make the connection that this tall bearded man is the actor who plays “the spiky hair Doctor” on TV and therefore we love him.)  Afraid he would just see DT as “random bearded stranger”, I was envisioning an awkward disaster, but reminded myself that whatever happened would be a fun memory regardless.

I was elated to find out that our photos and autographs would be 1st thing in the morning since we had purchased the “Ultimate Fan Experience” package.  I knew at least the kids would be at their best and probably not cranky yet.  We arrived early and stood in line with some of the most amazing people.  My mini doctor was finally allowed to play with his sonic screwdriver, and everyone was very patient with his incessant “sonic-ing” at their costumes, jewelry, merchandise, and various body parts.

We walked into the photo “booth” with about 2 people in front of us, as David & Billie’s faces both lit up when they saw the kids in costume.  I think Billie even pointed at mini Rose.  I told the person in charge that it would be just the kids in the photo, and she motioned me to stand by the cameraman during the photo.  I am SO GLAD I was not in the photo because I got to see the entire scene unfold.

**YES I RAMBLE!  HERE’S THE GOOD PART IF YOU SKIPPED AHEAD**

David bent down, opened his arms enthusiastically to my son, and said, “Come here!”  Then something magical happened - my son went right to him without hesitating and David picked him right up and turned toward the camera.  It was adorable and precious and so many other adjectives but mostly just random letters produced by flailing at the keyboard because adjectives don’t do it justice.  Both kids and myself were beaming as we stepped out of the booth to retrieve our photo - but the photo checker motioned us BACK INTO the booth (I’m guessing one of the kids blinked during the photo).  I was devastated - there was NO WAY the whole scene would go as well the second time.  We squeezed back into the area, and David again opened his arms to my little guy.  He practically ran into David’s arms, like he was greeting his daddy coming home after a long day at work.  It was incredible.  In fact, my mini doctor was so enamored with David, he forgot all about his precious sonic screwdriver until David reminded him, “Point the sonic!  Right there!  Right at the camera!”  It was just amazing seeing David so attentive to my son.  Several of the people behind us in line also got to witness the magic and have told me that the scene was one of the highlights of THEIR MegaCon as well!  And most of my fangirling has been over David, but the fact that my mini Rose is also smiling in this pic is a HUGE testament to Billie’s sweetness and friendliness. We had literally practiced making a nice smile for the photo and all I got was a blank stare.  Rose is by far my daughter’s favorite companion and I know she was completely thrilled at meeting Billie and how Billie squealed over her costume (On a side note, Eleven WAS her favorite Doctor - but I think she is a TEN convert now after meeting David!)

We moved on to the autograph line and waited while David and Billie finished the rest of the photos.  My 7yo (mini Rose) wanted to say something to David - I wasn’t sure we would have time to say much at all but when we got to David I said, “She wanted to tell you something” and he patiently leaned over the table to hear her and said, “What did you want to tell me?”  She told him she loved his performance in Much Ado, and I mentioned that she was a big fan of Shakespeare after watching him in Much Ado and Hamlet.  He said “Oh, I love hearing that!”

She also got to ask him a question in the DT/BP panel at the end of the day, but I will save that for another post!

Contrary to popular belief, they have occasionally watched things that were not Doctor Who. But even when it comes to television, Fitz and Jemma developed a ~system.

  • In the winter, they love to watch BBC’s Natural World. They bury themselves under a duvet and watch every new documentary enraptured, religiously whispering animal kingdom’s trivia to each other. They never eat during these, and they kindly pretend not to notice the quiet sniffling and seldom tears when a little penguin happens to be eaten by a seal, or when a lion cub nudges the side of its motionless mother.

  • After a stressful day at work, they watch Paranormal Files when they need to vent or bitch, Mythbusters if they need to feel vindicated and to see stuff being blown up (“Remember kids, the only difference between Science and screwing around is writing it down,” they scream along, while picturing the many ways they could stab their idiot SciOps coworkers in the eyeballs) and Dark Matters when they need to feel better about themselves (“It’s on the Science channel, Simmons. The science channel.”)

  • Lazy Sunday afternoons are for The Great British Bake Off. It’s a bloodbath. They get very passionate about GBBO (They don’t speak of Custardgate. Ever.) and one time Jemma shouted at their TV screen so loudly that the neightbor’s baby began to cry. She insists Fitz’s mum should be on the show, and actually scoffs every time someone screws up slow proofing dough products (“I’m telling you, Fitz, I will threaten your mother with your life if she doesn’t go next year.” “Dear God”).

  • When they’re feeling sweet or melancholic, they watch anything about space. From NASA missions to Interstellar and everything in between. Fitz is secretly bored by 2001: A Space Odissey, and Jemma doesn’t really like Star Wars (“Ugh, Parsecs are units of distance, Fitz, not time! You know who else made the Kessel Run in less than 12 parsecs? Every damn piece of junk ship that ever made the Kessel Run, that’s who!” “Piece of junk…!” “Han Solo is a joke, honestly” and maybe Fitz makes a sound that is closer to what a whale does as it dies when he squeaks “Respect him!”) but they make it work anyway.

  • Every Summer, they catch up on a tv series and Fitz always insists on junk food, during. 2012 was Battlestar Galactica (“You know who Adama reminds me of? Commander Gonzales” “Holy shit”), 2013 was Breaking Bad (“My crystal meth would be purer than his” “We’re not going to cook crystal meth, Simmons” “I’m not saying we should be producing illegal substances in our lab, Fitz. I’m just saying that if we wanted to, we’d be better drug lords than those two”), 2014 was Parks and Recreation (Jemma left right in the middle of season four, and he never watched the rest. It is speculated nobody could mention ‘Calzones’ around him but as nobody in their right mind would ever talk about calzones, the issue was moot). In 2015, Fitz doesn’t watch anything except for the same video feed, over and over again.

Obviously there are lots of theories revolving around the Beast and who actually is the beast. Some of them are very well justified and convincing, but my opinion, which obviously some people have said, is that Danny is the Beast.

This is because if you remember back to 3x06 (Motel California) when Danny and Ethan were in the room together, Ethan pointed out a scar on Danny and  The scars are from a surgery he had which was to correct misshapen cartilage which he was born with. And yes, some may argue that he says that it was a metal bar which was put into his chest, which is probably what happened, but this could still mean that he could have another set of DNA in his body making him suitable to be a chimera.

Also, Danny hasn’t been featured on this season so far, and yet Keahu has posted pictures on instagram of the tunnels where a lot of this season is based and where the Dread Doctors’ lab is:

And the writers always seem to think this way and all over Keahu’s instagram he has posted stuff which could link to him being a beast or one of the Dread Doctors.

Another picture Keahu posted was him with claws, and these claws look very similar to the ones we saw in the 5b trailer:

I know a lot of people have already said about this theory but I personally think that there is a very good chance Danny is the Beast, but I obviously don’t know for sure and it’s a good a guess as any until we actually find out.
