there is a darkness to both of them

anonymous asked:

Okay this is a weird question, but I don't have a lot of friends who know Dark and Anti, so you'll be my victim (: I'm writing something and I need to know how Dark and Anti could react to someone having a panic attack and... I have no clue. Do you have any idea? ^.^

At the risk of sounding cynical, I’m gonna go ahead and say that they would be happy to see someone have a panic attack. They are evil after all so I can’t really imagine them be all caring and kind, you know what I mean?
I think their reaction would be laughter. And they would also try and make that person feel even worse.

God, this sounds so harsh haha but again, we should remember that both Anti and Dark are not our friends. They are evil beings and as such they would basically do the exact opposite of what Jack and Mark would do in front of someone having a panic attack, I think.

I know everyone compares the trios like this Terra - Riku, Aqua - Kairi, Ventus - Sora but am I the only one who thinks of them like this

Think about it

Terra and Sora: blue eyes, brown hair, Xehanorts vessels (almost with sora), both failed the Mark of Mastery, Terra passing of the Keyblade went to Sora instead of Riku,

Riku and Aqua: both passed the Mark of Mastery, been in the realm of darkness, closest to Mickey, both saved their sleeping friend, closest to DiZ

Ventus and Kairi: Both been in Sora’s heart, both lost hearts and fell asleep, youngest in their group, have nobodies that look like them (Roxas and Xion), both have a bigger role in the plot than thought (she’s a princess of heart, he’s been in the Keyblade war), both can’t remember their original homes, both told to stay home but ran off to find their friends, both their hearts are pure light

I think there’s more and I know they share a lot in common the other way but I think these are really cool similarities

She is not the view from the sky.
Clouds do not mask her beauty or hide its darkest parts.
She is the world beneath his feet on the ground,
bright and alive and unforgiving and terrifying.

She is the air that has filled his lungs and kept him breathing
since his boots were first muddied by the unforgiving earth,
some days cold enough to kill,
and others that fill you with so much warmth it stings.

She is both the fire that bloodies the sky,
that blackens flesh and trees,
and the flames that crackle next to sleeping bodies,
that gives them life until the warm morning comes.

With a face like thunder,
a storm beneath a clouded gaze,
just enough to warn you before her voice ignites,
the crackle that stings and singes its target.

With a soul like the sea,
beautiful, though secrets hide in its dark depths,
always changing, always shifting,
always powerful, always strong.

She is not the view from the sky, detached and distant.
She is the world beneath his feet on the ground, dangerous and exhilarating,
and she makes him think that maybe, just maybe,
Earth is not as terrifying as it seems.

Do you need some natural lighting? Oh ha ha, how about no. It’s so cloudy and dark these days, I can’t even see wtf am I drawing on paper.
I need a lamp. And some kind of workspace. Too bad there is not much room at my current place X)

Cheering myself up with these silly little things. Love them both ❤

Really wanna print them on my pjs when it’s finished. And the Losers Club for my s/o. Thus we’ll be ready to start pillow fight of the century.

woozletania replied to your post: the Rocket solo ended last week at issue 6….

The author spent the entire issue making Rocket as miserable as humanly possible. He had old friends and flames show up to kick him when he was down, had him dumped by BOTH his current girlfriends and had pretty much everyone tell him he sucked. I’m not sure what the point was exactly.

He wanted to come across smart and prolific, so he took the easiest way to do it by trying to create a dark and gritty scenario with this pseudo Frank Miller type empty noire gibberish. So far every single one of them has resorted to this style of writing that’s forcefully demeaning the character to enjoy the pleasure of writing suffering. This masochistic enjoyment of self deprecation is super common among writers who wanna seem smart, but don’t actually have the time or talent or brain to do it with.

The differences between Darkiplier and Antisepticeye

Obviously we see Anti and Dark as two similar beings because they’re both the evil counterparts or the demons of two great guys who are best friends. Though I think that they’re also very different for many different reasons. Let’s break it down a little and spot the differences, shall we?

Let’s start with Anti.

Antisepticeye, otherwise known as Jack’s evil counterpart or demon, has made many appearances already - even recently. His look can be interpreted however you want, but he has been portrayed a certain way on the channel for some time now. He seems to look exactly how Jack does whenever he appears. But during one longer appearance, he was seen with all black clothing (a black shirt and ripped jeans) and some ear gauges (you can see this in Jack’s ‘Say Goodbye’ video). You could assume that this is Anti’s regular style. We’ve also seen him with black eyes (also in the ‘Say Goodbye’ video) which could possibly mean that he’s a demon.

Anti’s appearances have been brief for the most part. He appears in the form of glitches in Jack’s face cam (you can see a lot of this in Jack’s ‘Five Nights At Freddy’s - Sister Location’ videos) and only stays for a few seconds, though his appearances grew gradually more frequent as the end of October got closer. The only video in which he’s made a longer and much stronger appearance is in Jack’s ‘Say Goodbye’ video.

A quick example.

Anti’s voice is also far from normal, as far as we know. It’s very distorted and sounds like there are multiple people speaking at the same time, all in different pitches. This kind of matches his glitchy appearances.

Another thing about him is that he’s very violent. In multiple appearances, Anti has been seen using his fingers as guns and holding them to his head, strangling himself, pulling at his hair or face or mouth, or with blood somewhere on his face. In the ‘Say Goodbye’ video, he even goes as far as making Jack slit his own throat. He’s displayed as a crazy character, even borderline psychotic.

Picture it this way: if Anti was given the opportunity to torture someone, he wouldn’t hesitate. He would use all the pretty little toys he had and make it as enjoyable as possible - for him. He is merciless, violent and crazy and this could be due to Jack’s excessive amount of energy being manifested into something evil. His idea of fun is extremely dangerous, bloody and painful.

So, Anti is practically a psychopath.

Now, onto Dark.

Darkiplier, otherwise known as Mark’s evil counterpart or demon, hasn’t made nearly as many appearances as Anti. There were theories about him in Mark’s earlier videos ‘Don’t Blink’ and ‘Dont Move’, but he’s been nothing more than a theory since then. People came up with their own ideas and conclusions while Anti was around. But he has finally made an appearance in one of the paths you take when you go to Mark’s video, ‘A Date With Markiplier’ (to get to him you have to click ‘Pay’ and then click ‘Horror’. If you want to follow through then you have to click on ‘Freedom’ and finally, kill the guy on ‘Left’.)

So far, his attire is different from Anti’s. Of course, he was wearing the suit that Mark was wearing during the date, but it oddly seemed to suit him (pun intended). Already off the bat, this leads us to think that Dark may prefer cleaner or more professional attire as opposed to black t-shirts and ripped jeans. Another thing is that he seems to like wearing black eyeliner, unless that’s some sort of natural dark circle around his eyes. Either way, creep factor.

Dark’s appearances haven’t been as glitchy as Anti’s. There are a few moments where he’s seemed to glitch out slightly, but for the most part he’s more ‘stable’. Although, there does seem to be some sort of layering effect in his appearances or some sort of 3D filter - like there are duplicates of him. His stance is also very proper, with his hands gingerly held behind his back as he talks. That, and his appearances have been longer than Anti’s. He sticks around to even converse with the viewer, whereas Anti will only stick around for a few seconds in the face cam, just long enough for someone to notice him.

An example for Darky.

Dark’s voice is a lot deeper than Anti’s, kind of like Mark’s is deeper than Jack’s. Though, it’s almost abnormally deep for someone with Mark’s face. It’s also very echoey, as though he was appearing in a vision or a dream.

Now this is where the major difference comes out.

Unlike Anti, Dark looks very calm and reserved. He speaks slowly, carefully and clearly - as though he’s having a conversation with a colleague at work. He doesn’t seem violent in any sort of way and doesn’t imply that he wants to cause harm to anyone. It’s just that his entire demeanor and way of speaking is very … Dark. I guess he lives up to his name. Rather than being crazy and excitable like Anti, he’s just cold and intimidating.

Picture it this way: if Dark also had the opportunity to torture someone, he wouldn’t go about it the same way. He would most likely use his words to slowly drive the person mad, to frighten them out of their skin. His definition of fun wouldn’t be to hear the person’s screams or see a gory scene - no, his fun is all in the scares. Sure, eventually he gets around to the torture, but he doesn’t seem like the kind of guy who likes to make a mess, you know?

So, Dark is a cold, merciless killer.

Anti and Dark are very similar but also very different, which makes them that much more interesting to observe and analyze. The two of them working together would be the perfect recipe for a vengeful murder. Of course, they’re super fun to watch from afar.

Just don’t piss them off.

FMA Manga/Brotherhood Ed: Not only will I never make a Philosopher’s Stone, I will never use one that’s already been made, even though the damage is done and can never be reversed.

I’m so disgusted by the idea of it that I would rather be eaten by Envy than attack what’s left the people of Xerxes who all but died hundreds of years ago. When I do use some of those souls to escape starving to death in a river of blood, I’m going to be wracked with guilt about it, even though it was literally the only way for me to save my friend Ling and for me to return to my brother.

And will I use the remaining life force of a man I hate, who’s already been alive for way to long, who won’t be alive much longer, and who is offering his life up voluntarily to save the person in this world who I care about the most? Of course not! What a ridiculous idea! That would be wrong.

FMA 2003 Ed: In the end, I won’t end up murdering a whole room full of people to make a Philosopher’s Stone and save Alphonse…

..but I’m going to seriously consider it.

What’s devastating is that these are two people who loved each other, who were best friends, who had a history together. And after losing everyone, his killer turned out to be Damien. And that’s why, even now, as heads of the Ego Table, both Dark and Wilford respect one another. They were both driven into madness and vengeance – and the only thing that remains is them and a primary objective.

Dear Signs, It’s Okay

Dear Aries,

You are a fireball of energy, blazing through life. You want to savor it’s rawness and be strong in all your might, and you are strong. But it’s okay to cry, and let the softer parts of yourself show- even for a moment- even if it’s just to yourself. Because deep down, through all that strength and valor, you still have the innocence of a child. Not everyone will understand what it’s like to be so authentic in the core, and that’s okay. You are you, in all of your wholeness and that should be shameless. Your childlike innocence doesn’t take away your strength, it gives you an impenetrable shield.

Dear Taurus,

When you look in the mirror, what do you see? Do you love the person staring back at you, Do they fit the definition of what you find as beautiful? Look deeper, past the skin, past the tangible, and feel- do they feel Beautiful- If not, why not? If the answer has anything to do with other people, listen close. Beauty is subjective but you embody it, you are Earth in her purity, natural and cunning. It’s okay if you don’t always see, but always try to feel it. People don’t always understand the beautiful things in life and that’s okay, as long as you are aware of it yourself- you are akin to a flower blooming. No matter the petals, you are aromatic, intoxicating. Not everyone stops to smell the flowers, but take this as a reminder you always should.

Dear Gemini,

You are a whirlwind of everything around you, and it’s quite remarkable. No one can pin you down, as you can hardly grasp yourself. You are a curiosity, as no one understands you, some days you don’t understand yourself. That’s okay, life is about perpetual learning, and not just about knowing. Knowledge may bring comfort, but it doesn’t secure it. You are a tornado, and it’s natural not everyone can keep up, and that’s okay. You are light-hearted being, with light that needs to dance and smile. Don’t let anyone take your smile away, and or erase the many facets of who you are. With so many faces, you aren’t fake, you’re just multi-dimensional.

Dear Cancer,

You are sensitive and passionate, with a hard shell protecting everything you love. Life comes to you in phases, and you follow your passions wherever they may lead you. You shine brightly in the dark, when all is still. You are a contradiction, like most wonderful things- hard on the outside with a softness inside, both nurturing but harsh. It’s okay to be all of these things, and it’s okay to trade them out through time. You are the moon, and the moon is constantly reinventing herself.

Dear Leo,

You love fearlessly and boldly, and not everyone can handle that. Some are blinded, some are envious, but that’s okay, as long as it doesn’t dull who you are. You shine for those around you, because you love them and you need to know they love you too. It’s okay to love like you do, it’s okay to shine as bright as you do. You have a childlike adoration, and attention serves as validation. Praise strokes the fire in your heart, just remember not everyone has learned about love in it’s pure form. Love them as you would any other stranger, because they need it just as much, but don’t let it drain you. It’s okay to love the world, just know when to it’s time to move on, and be someone else’s sunshine.

Dear Virgo,

You are the oil in the gears that make the world run smoothly. You are anxious, making double sure you’re perfecting your part in the world. It’s natural to want to feel appreciated, as you do so much for others. You might not always do the glamorous things, or be in the center, but you always are doing something. It’s okay to want to be thanked, it’s okay to want to be adored- because you deserve it. Just know, you have to appreciate yourself before anyone else does. Some people don’t see all of what you do, and you can’t change that. You can change who you service, and you can change how you percieve yourself. Always remember to adore yourself, and give yourself credit for everything you do. Without you, this world would be chaos, so remember you are important.

Dear Libra,

Who are you ? I’m sure you ask yourself this quite a lot, and it’s okay if the answer changes daily. It’s okay if the answer changes, because whether you believe it of not, there is no definite answer. People around you may seem solid in who they are, but their not, and that’s okay too. You are not less than them, and you a more than just a reflection, even if that’s others see you. Your identity is fluid, and it changes based upon the people- and that’s why being alone sometimes can be so scary. You are left unarmed as to who you are, with only the scraps of thoughts to keep you together. And sometimes those thoughts aren’t so pretty, and that’s okay, because you’re also more than what ugly thoughts have to offer. You are beautiful, in and of yourself, you are an egnima.

Dear Scorpio,

You are a curious being plopped in a curious world. There is so much mystery, so much hidden depth. Of course you want to explore it all, to you, there is no such thing as an unanswerable question, and every wonder has a right to be answered. This frightens the world at large, because the world isn’t always ready for the truth you bring. It’s okay that you wonder those questions, no matter how dark or taboo. This isn’t a fault with you, because the world is heavy in denial. This is your virtue, because you walk the path so many are hesitate to glance down. Always ask, always discover, always seek, just remember security isn’t always found in the answers. Sometimes the answers break the security you thought you had, and this begs more questions. It’s okay to vulnarable, it’s okay to be exposed sometimes, especially to those who mutually love you, as you love them. Perhaps it’s this way, you’ll find the answer you’re looking for through yourself? But that’s just another question you’re going to have to answer- and it’s okay if there’s more after that.

Dear Sagittarius,

The world is an adventure, and an experience to indulge in. You are a wildfire, untamed and wild, It’s okay to wander. Beings like you aren’t meant to be caged, you are meant to drift and discover, to teach all those who listen. It’s okay to want to befriend the world, just remember not everything is friendly. You know this, but you’re brave and luck always seems to be on your side. It’s okay to believe in luck, always count your stars while you can. If by some stroke of chance you loose them, know that you can always find them again, or better, create your own lucky stars.

Dear Capricorn,

The world is dark, it is hollow, but you fill a much needed crack within it. You are the cement that holds the foundation for many different people, and that’s why the world feels so heavy. It’s okay to feel brittle after holding so much weight for so long. It’s okay to feel exhausted, because this world is mericiless and you brave it well. Your ambitions is what carries you and the ones you love. Just remember, you are also human, and not a machine, even if others don’t see it that way. Remember that, it’s okay to rest, and that you can always carry on in the morning.

Dear Aquarius,

When people imagine colors that don’t exist, they think of you. You function on a plane that many people never ventured on, because so many people are afraid of what they don’t know. You embody what people are afraid of, not because you’re scary, but because you’re different. Different- that’s an adjective that’s used so much in reference to you, it’s practically a synonym to your name. You are just you though, and that’s the magic of it. It’s okay if people don’t understand you’re unique sense of self, it’s okay if they don’t understand your compassion for the world. Its okay if some nights are lonely because you feel misunderstood, some things aren’t meant to be understood by everyone. You aren’t alone for this, you are united because of it. It’s through your eccentricity that will bond you with the few people that truly understand.

Dear Pisces,

The world consumes you, as you unknowingly consume it. You a radar of sensitivity, picking on the undercurrents that most people don’t notice. Some days it feels like your drowning in those waves, and no one understands. They don’t, and that’s okay. They don’t understand you, because often times, they are half blind to the world around them. You hold unimaginable depth, and some people don’t know how to handle that. You are a sponge, soaking up the world’s vibrations and empathy. This may seem like a curse, but it’s a blessing to see the world so vibrantly. This world consumes you, but that’s okay, because you also have the power to capture it.

I used to want to save the world. To end war and bring peace to mankind. But then, I glimpsed the darkness that lives within their light. I learned that inside every one of them, there will always be both. The choice each must make for themselves - something no hero will ever defeat. I’ve touched the darkness that lives in between the light. Seen the worst of this world, and the best. Seen the terrible things men do to each other in the name of hatred, and the lengths they’ll go to for love. Now I know. Only love can save this world. So I stay. I fight, and I give… for the world I know can be. This is my mission, now. Forever.

The first one was real enough, as everyone in the world was born with a permanently inked mark, somewhere on their body. Yours was plainly put into sight, right on the inside of your left wrist. From person to person, their mark differed in handwriting, but it always read the same thing; the date of your soulmate’s birth. Your soulmark was scrawled in a delicate yet slightly messy script, which didn’t really bother you. Your friend could barely read her one, it was that chaotic. But it was the actual words that bothered you, which made you lose faith in having a soulmate that was actually alive.

I was lucky enough to attend the Pacific Rim: Uprising NYCC panel at Madison Square Garden (and sat in the first row ayyy~~) and took a bunch of notes lol. The panel included the director Steven S. DeKnight, and a few members of the main cast including John Boyega, Cailee Spaeny, Scott Eastwood, and Burn Gorman. Here’s my recap:

General Worldbuilding Tidbits

  • Pacific Rim: Uprising is set 10 years in the future after the last film. DeKnight said that they wanted to show a “new generation of Jaeger pilots who have known nothing but chaos.”
  • Previous characters slated to return, as seen by the trailer, include Mako Mori (Rinko Kikuchi), Dr. Hermann Gottlieb (Burn Gorman), and Dr. Newt Geiszler (Charlie Day).
  • The new main “trio” seems to consists of the main lead, Jake Pentecost, and the late son of Stacker Pentecost (John Boyega), Jake’s best friend and Jaeger pilot Nate Lambert (Scott Eastwood), and tech-savvy Amara Namani (Cailee Spaeny).
  • 10 years later, the Pan-Pacific Defense Corps (PPDC) has come together to work as an international fighting force, with all of humanity working together - i.e. Jaegers are no longer coded by specific country, like the Russian Jaegers, Australian Jaegers, etc.
  • This also allowed the opportunity to build Jaegers from the ground up, since they were all previously destroyed in the first film. It was jokingly claimed, “we cancelled the apocalypse and then un-cancelled it to make this movie.”
  • DeKnight discussed how  Del Toro originally set the table with Pacific Rim as a “fantastic visual feast,” so the goal with the sequel was to honor the original, but also expand the universe at the same time.
  • John Boyega claimed that they weren’t trying to “rewrite what Guillermo Del Toro did, but rather to build upon and expand this universe, and where the humans are at now.”
  • Boyega also talked about how he came onto work behind-the-scenes creatively on the film as a producer. He described Pacific Rim as one of the only franchises he’s come across where the fans are hopeful and “sacred science fiction ground."
  • Going in, Boyega felt like he had the same creative passion as DeKnight. When they met in LA for the first time, they went over the specific Jaegers and basically what Boyega wanted to see after Pacific Rim. He claimed that "I believe this is everything you want Pacific Rim to be."
  • One of the goals of Pacific Rim: Uprising is to explain exactly what happened 10 years after the first film, but not necessarily be a complete detachment to the origin story. It was highlighted that there are a lot of young teenage characters in the cast and hopefully that’ll be something that new viewers can relate to.
  • According to DeKnight, one of the overarching themes of Pacific Rim is: "It doesn’t matter who your parents are, the color of your skin, your religion, or sexual orientation, you can make a difference and be a hero. It’s the human inside the Jaegers that makes you super."
  • Pacific Rim: Uprising was filmed both in Australia and China. The cast pretty much agreed that as a director, DeKnight runs a "relaxed” and “creative” set - it was a tough schedule, but the actors all felt that they could still have creative input.

New Jaegers

  • DeKnight called them all “badass,” with Gipysy Avenger leading the charge.
  1. Gipsy Avenger: Has a lot of upgrades, including a Gravity Sling which allows the Jaeger to reach out and grab buildings, cars, etc. and hurl them directly at the Kaiju.
  2. Bracer Phoenix: This is the brute force Jaeger. One of its special abilities, above many, is the fact that it’s a three-pilot machine. Therefore, the third pilot can drop into the chamber and operate a pair of massive guns called the Vortex Cannon.
  3. Saber Athena: This is the most advanced Jaeger in the fleet that uses Plasma swords. Also described as a “little experimental,”  and “incredibly swift.”
  4. Titan Redeemer: Has a special weapon called the “ball of death,” which is attached to the end of his arm. According to DeKnight, this was “pretty damn cool."
  5. Guardian Bravo: Is another brute force Jaeger that has a special weapon called the "graphine arc whip."
  6. Scrapper: Described as a "little guy,” that’s been slapped together. Since in the future, there are a lot of people pilfering and stealing PPCD technology to make their own Jaegers.
  • During the Q&A, an audience member asked if all the new Jeagers run on analog. DeKnight claimed one Jaeger is built on sticks (lmao), but the general idea is that no EM-powered Kaijus will be able to take down the Jaegers in this film.

Jake Pentecost (John Boyega)

  • Boyega stated that he “loved the first movie and one of the reasons was Idris Elba.” So, he understood the big shoes that he had to fill. Boyega claimed he understood this responsibility, but  "we [the cast] all worked as a unit, and Jake Pentecost doesn’t exist without the other characters. This is also a great ensemble piece.“
  • When the moderator asked if Jake is trying to live up to Sacker’s legacy, Boyega jokingly claimed: "Hell no!” He went to explain that “the greatest heroes don’t accept legendary status. It takes a tussle and a turn and for Jake’s position. Where we find Jake in the beginning of the film is in very different circumstances from his Dad.”
  • Boyega described Jake as a “stealer, a hustler, and lives in half a mansion. He’s really a guy that doesn’t want to live up to the Pentecost name.”
  • Jake is bought back into the PPCD in a very unique way through his connection to Cailee Spaeny’s character Amara. So, Jake is bought into this adventure and decides that he’s gotta “step up,” after realizing that the “Pentecost name still means something to people."
  • During the Q&A, an audience member asked Boyega what’s the most rewarding part of being a sci-fi icon. He claimed that he doesn’t feel like one, but working on both Pacific: Rim Uprising has been exciting, since it’s allowed him to jump into various elements of sci-fi that he loved growing up.

Nate Lambert (Scott Eastwood)

  • Eastwood described him as a Jaeger pilot who’s one of the best out there. Yet, he’s still "the tip of the spear,” and really nothing without his best friend Jake.
  • Jake and Nate still have issues in this movie to work out from the past, so Eastwood felt that coming back around and dealing with a lost time with these characters was something cool to explore as an actor.
  • Eastwood also emphasized that while yes, there is plenty of action in the film, it “has a great story first and foremost.”

Amara Namani (Cailee Spaeny)

  • This was Spaeny’s first film that she was ever cast for. So, she was definitely intimidated and a bit terrified, but knew that fans were so supportive of the first film.
  • Spaeny didn’t actually watch Pacific Rim until she got the audition for the sequel, and really took it upon herself to dive into the universe in order to understand and respect the original film.
  • In terms of Spaeny’s film experience, there was also diving into tons of stunts and action and lots of skills that she to catch onto , since she was participating in a whole world that’s already been created.
  • But Spaeny felt that both DeKnight and the cast were very supportive and helpful, whenever she had questions, so it was really easy for her to dive into Cailee’s character. She also bonded with DeKnight since this was the first feature-length, theatrical film that he ever directed.
  • Spaeny described Amara as very “independent,” and super “badass.” She’s also a tech-savvy person.
  • For Amara’s backstory, her entire family was killed in the first wave of Kaiju attacks. So, Amara really “takes it upon herself to dive into Jaeger tech and make sure that when Kaiju do come back, she’ll be ready to fight and protect herself."
  • While Amara’s past is very different from Jake’s, Spaeny claimed that both of them still see a lot of things in similar ways.

Dr. Hermann Gottlieb (Burn Gorman)

  • Gorman said he was very excited to be back in the sequel, which felt like "being back in the playground.” He also joked, "I’ve been lucky enough with this face that God gave me to play a few jerks on screen,” when an audience member briefly highlighted his past roles on Torchwood, Revenge, Game of Thrones, and The Dark Knight Rises.
  • Gottlieb still has problems with personal hygiene. Gorman claimed, “let’s just say that he hasn’t changed his socks since the last film."
  • In comparison to Charlie Day’s character (Dr. Newt Geiszler) who has moved onto the private sector, Gottlieb chose to stay behind with the PPCD and arguably their most important scientist at the highest level at this point. So, Gorman joked that Gottlieb now, in effect, has a "really great budget,” to work with now.
  • However, DeKnight makes it clear that where we find Gottlieb is: “as a man still very much affected in what happened in the previous film in terms of his drift and communication with the Kaiju.

There was a brief Q&A and the last question really stuck out to me, where an audience member asked each cast member to sum up their Pacific: Rim Uprising experience in one word:

  • John Boyega: Unity

I used to want to save the world. To end war and bring peace to mankind. But then, I glimpsed the darkness that lives within their light. I learned that inside every one of them, there will always be both. The choice each must make for themselves - something no hero will ever defeat. I’ve touched the darkness that lives in between the light. Seen the worst of this world, and the best. Seen the terrible things men do to each other in the name of hatred, and the lengths they’ll go to for love. Now I know. Only love can save this world. So I stay. I fight, and I give… for the world I know can be. This is my mission, now. Forever.
