Slow Hands

Summary: Nat and Wanda get tired of the ever growing sexual tension between you and Bucky so they decide to take action.

Warnings: swearing, implied smut

Requested by anon: Can you do a Bucky x reader based on the song Slow Hands by Niall Horan. I live for your writing.

A/N: this was my first songfic. I wrote a fic inspired by the song using a few variations of lines that fit with the story rather than one with big chunks of lyrics between paragraphs. Hope it’s ok 😊

‘Damn that man is something else’ Natasha sighed as she stretched on a training mat next to Wanda. She was gazing at Bucky as he grunted against the weights on the bench press and Wanda giggled at her dumbfounded expression.

‘Keep dreaming Nat, you know he only has eyes for (Y/N). She’s got him wrapped around her little finger but she has no idea. I bet he’d walk through fire if she asked him to’ she laughed when Natasha rolled her eyes and she got her phone out of the gym bag lying next to her. 'Who’re you texting now?’

’(Y/N)’. Wanda tutted and giggled again. 'She has to see this’ she said, her eyes moving again to Bucky as he got off the bench and dragged the back of his hand over his forehead to wipe the sweat off of his face and she hit send. When your phone had gone off you were sat with Sam, both in silence as you scrolled through your Instagram feed just enjoying each other’s company. Knowing Nat it was nothing but the text made it sound urgent so you exhaled heavily and sat up.

'Urgh I’ve got to go. Nat wants me’ you sighed and Sam rolled his eyes.

'She still trying to set you up with Bucky?’ he asked and you laughed.

'Something like that. God I wish she’d stop it’s just embarrassing for me. It’s not even like he likes me back’ you whined and Sam scoffed.

'Keep telling yourself that. Sorry do you need a guide dog? I think you may have gone blind’ he retorted.

'Ha ha. But seriously I’ve got to go’ you said, waving as you walked out and headed down to the gym. When you shoved the doors open Nat’s face lit up and she waved you over. You met her bright grin with an irritated scowl and she and Wanda both burst out laughing. Unbeknownst to you, Bucky, upon noticing your arrival, had puffed his chest out, loaded up the weights so they held at least 200lbs and started deadlifting the enormous weight. Deliberately not looking at him you keep your eyes on the girls and make a beeline for their mat so you miss the side glances Bucky was giving you, hoping you’ll look over. 'What?’ you hissed when you got within earshot. Nat just grinned wickedly, nodding over at Bucky while Wanda was in stitches laughing. 'And?’

'And he’s hot as hell and every day that you skirt around the glaringly obvious sexual tension between you makes me question what the hell is wrong with you’ she replied, her voice gradually getting louder. 'Look just go over and talk to him’ she said and you sighed. 'Please?’ she whined and you huffed and got up from the mat.

'Fine’ you snapped and you made your way over to him. 'Hey Buck’ you greeted, lifting a hand to wave at him as you approached. When he saw you his eyes widened, he dropped the weights just missing his foot and he cursed under his breath. 'Sorry, did I interrupt? I’ll just go’ you said, turning slightly to return to Nat and Wanda.

'No!’ he almost yelled and you turned back to him. 'I mean no you didn’t interrupt, it’s fine I was just about to stop anyway’ he said hurriedly.

'Can you really lift all that?’ you asked in disbelief, noting the loaded up bar at his feet.

'Yeah, you know it’s really not that hard, it’s all in the stance. Come here I’ll show you’ he stepped back and gestured for you to stand in front of it. You bit your lip and looked back at the girls who were nodding furiously and sticking their thumbs up at you.

'Ok but only if you take some of the weights off. Not all of us are super soldiers Barnes’ you teased and he laughed nervously as he went to lessen the weight you’d be lifting. You stood in front of the bar with Bucky inches behind you and he instructed you in a low voice, sending shivers down your spine with every word that left his lips.

'First you gotta stand with your legs apart and your feet just underneath the bar’ he said and when you complied he nodded and continued. 'Then when you bend over to grab the bar make sure you keep your legs straight’. You did as he said, bending over and wrapping your fingers round the metal, trying desperately to ignore all the dirty thoughts fogging your mind as you felt your bum press against his crotch and you flushed when he made no effort to move back. 'When you’re ready to lift, bend your knees so your shins touch the bar, lift your chest, straighten your back and pull. Take a deep breath, hold it and stand up with the weight’. You bent your knees and lifted the bar as he said, almost laughing when you felt it come off of the floor. When it became too much you dropped it, stepping back and bumping into Bucky.

'Whoops’ you giggled as you fell into his chest which soon became more of a nervous chuckle as you felt his large hands come to rest on your hips and his hot breath on your neck as his hair tickled your cheek.

'Whoa there, think you might need to sit down’ he said, so quietly it was like a whisper and you nodded, wanting nothing more that to leave this uncomfortable situation. 'Here’ he said, offering you his water bottle as you sat on the bench next to his mat. You thanked him and took a swig from the bottle, wiping your mouth with the back of your hand and looking over at the girls who’d been watching, gaping in disbelief. You raised an eyebrow at them and missed the lustful look Bucky was giving you as you took another mouthful of his water. You looked back to Bucky as he returned to deadlifting the weights and shot him a smile as you leaned back on the bench, waving at Steve when he entered. One eyebrow arched when he saw you sat with Bucky but he shrugged and made his way over to you.

'Hey (Y/N), didn’t think you’d be here’ he said, apparently ignoring Bucky, still releasing grunts of exertion.

'Rogers I’m offended. I come to the gym all the time, boy do I love training’ you said sarcastically and he laughed. 'Buck was just teaching me how to deadlift. He’s really a very, very good teacher’ you said putting emphasis on each word and lowering your voice almost to a whisper, inwardly laughing as Bucky’s grunts turned to embarrassed coughing.

'Nice (Y/N)’ Steve replied, smiling at you as your inward laughs turned to childish giggles. 'Anyway I thought you girls always spent the whole day leading up to one of Tony’s parties getting ready?’ he said and your eyes widened.

'That’s tonight? Oh shit’ you exclaimed, running over to where Wanda and Nat were still sat, evidently not planning on training any time soon. You grabbed their hands and pulled them up, still looking slightly panicked. 'Tony’s party is tonight?’ you yelled and they nodded nonchalantly. 'Why didn’t you tell me? Oh god I’ve got nothing to wear! I can’t go I’ve not had enough time to get ready’.

'Relax (Y/N) we’ve already picked out a dress for you and Nat will do your hair and makeup. You have to look killer tonight, we’re gonna get our old pal Buckaroo to give way to his urges and finally make a move on you. He just needs a little push’ Wanda explained and you rolled your eyes, tugging them both by the hand out of the gym and up to your bedroom.

'It doesn’t leave much to the imagination does it?’ you said, your voice a high pitched squeak with nerves as you tugged at the hem of the slim fitting burgundy dress that stopped above your mid thigh. The plunging neckline showed off a modest amount of cleavage and Nat had straightened your hair and given you a smokey eye with lipstick almost the exact colour as the dress and velvet six inch heels. Wanda squealed when you stepped out and Nat’s jaw dropped. 'Does it look terrible?’ you asked nervously.

’(Y/N) if I was Bucky I’d fuck you on the spot’ Nat deadpanned and your rolled your eyes. 'Ok well lets get going I can’t wait for you two to get together for much longer!'

'Steve is she trying to fucking kill me?’ Bucky growled to his best friend, his hands tightening around the beer bottle he was holding and his eyes never leaving you as you danced with some of the tech guys. Nat and Wanda were with you, wholly encouraging you as you swung your hips teasingly and beckoned one of them forwards with one finger. When he came closer your hand closed around his tie and you pulled him towards you as you began grinding against him.

'Language Buck’ Steve warned. 'I told you, tell her how you feel and then you might be dancing with her. Like that’ he said, blushing at little as he watched your overly provocative dance around the flustered man you’d chosen to be your victim. Bucky growled, now watching your partner and he made up his mind to teach this little boy to stay away from his girl. 'Don’t hurt him Buck’ Steve yelled in vain to his retreating back. When your back was turned Bucky almost soundlessly pulled the technician back and took his place, any noises of protest being drowned out by the music. When you felt two muscular arms tighten around your waist and pull you up against him, you knew it was Bucky and you leant into his touch.

'Doll, what do you think you’re doing?’ he growled into your ear and you worked to suppress the moan threatening to break your composure. 'I’ve been watching you all night in this little number and you’ve not looked my way once’. You responded by spinning around to face him, gripping the lapels of his jacket with both hands and pulling him even closer.

'You mean like this?’ you whispered, smiling innocently up at him as you met his dark blue eyes. He pressed his forehead to yours and his fingers dug into your sides making you sigh with pleasure and close your eyes. You let the music carry you, pushing yourself up against the front of Bucky’s jeans and whispering his name into his ear as you moved your hips rhythmically against his.

'Fuck’ he snarled and you pulled back, looking into his eyes for mere milliseconds before his lips crashed into yours and he was kissing you with a desperate urgency that made you smirk as you kissed back, your hands snaking under his jacket and wrapping round his waist, feeling the rippling muscles underneath his dress shirt. His hands were slowly moving down from your hips to your thighs, the metal on skin contact making you gasp against his lips and giving him an entrance to force his tongue inside your mouth. They found the hem of your dress and started pushing it up, getting dangerously high and you pulled away, his lips chasing yours in an attempt to get them back. You removed your hands from his hips and pushed his hands away then grabbed his tie, pulling his head down to your level you pressed your lips to his ear.

'Not here’ you whispered, only just audible to him above the sound of his own heartbeat and the booming music. 'We should take this back to my room’. When you let go of his tie he remained close, breathing heavily and staring at you, his eyes almost black with desire. He nodded and gripped your hand as though making sure that there was no way he was leaving the party without you, pulling you through the partying throng and out of the door, not stopping until he reached the elevator and hit the button. When the doors closed his lips met yours again, his body pinning you to the wall and his flesh hand gripped one exposed thigh and hoisted it up so it rested on his hip. He kept this hand firmly on your thigh but let his metal hand roam your body, slowly skimming up one side from the hem of your dress to your collarbone, forcing a guttural moan to leave your lips. Your hands tugged at his hair as he left wet kisses along your neck, down to your cleavage and back up to your ear, nipping on your lobe and eliciting yet another breathless moan from you.

'You were dancing with that kid from tech’ he whispered and your breathing hitched. 'You led that poor boy on to play with me’. You nodded silently, squeezing your eyes shut and noting how quickly Bucky had regained control. He was pushing your dress up tantalisingly slowly but when he saw your burgundy lace panties you could tell his control was weak as his eyes widened and he swallowed.

'Yes Sergeant’ you gasped and his eyes shot to yours. Once more closing the gap between you he buried his face in your hair as he tried to recompose himself. 'The boy meant nothing. It’s you I really want. I want you, Bucky’ you simpered and he pulled back to look into your eyes. 'I’m yours’. That was it for Bucky. A low, animalistic groan emanated from his chest and he pushed himself into you, rejoining your lips but your hands didn’t stop, steadily moving over each other’s bodies as though systematically trying to memorise each and every curve and muscle. You were so caught up in each other that neither of you heard the doors of the elevator open or Nat and Wanda both watching, their mouths agape as you stripped Bucky of his jacket and began on his buttons and as Bucky clawed desperately at the seams of your dress until they tore. He discarded the dress and stood back, gazing at you with admiration as he drank in your exposed form, your flushed cheeks as you stood in just your matching underwear and heels and the playful smile on your face. You beckoned him towards you and he complied, dropping his own shirt on the floor as he did. Planting himself between your legs, he kissed you with such passion that it took your breath away and your hands ran across his broad chest and muscled torso, digging your nails in a little leaving tiny red scratches in your wake.

'I really liked that dress as well’ both your heads snapped up in shock at Nat’s voice and you pulled Bucky in front of you when you saw both of them stood there. 'Oh well I’ll get another one’ she shrugged as though nothing had happened and you peeked out at her from behind Bucky. He turned his head slightly to look down at you.

'Your room?’ he asked and you nodded, leaving your clothes in the lift as Bucky lifted you off of your feet so that your legs were wrapped around his waist and his hands cupped your bum. You made your way past the girls and to your bedroom door at the end of the corridor, hungrily attacking Bucky’s lips with your own as he fumbled behind himself to open you door.

'Tell us all about it’ you heard Wanda yell after you, just before Bucky kicked the door shut, lay you onto your bed and, lowering himself on top of you, reattached his lips to yours as a beginning to a night you would never forget.

After a rocky year, Fifth Harmony is in control — and tighter than ever
Fifth Harmony is at a crossroads. Having lost a member in a public fallout right after the group brokeout, the girls are in full control of their sound and brand. Will they finally make it big?
By Gerrick D. Kennedy

Inside a Burbank rehearsal studio, the women of Fifth Harmony — surrounded by the thousands of album booklets they’ve autographed for fans, the most dedicated of whom are known as “Harmonizers” — are having an emoji debate.

They want to use the digital icons to accompany the online reveal of the track list for their upcoming self-titled album, due Aug. 25 via Syco Music/Epic.

Dinah Jane Hansen, 20, suggested a finger pointing downward as a clue for the album’s lead single, “Down,” but the rest weren’t as easy.

“We need to go quicker, guys,” Ally Brooke Hernandez, 24, instructed as they struggled to stifle giggles.

After all, there’s other, more important business for Fifth Harmony to convey in 2017.

“We should mention we wrote most of these,” said Normani Kordei, 21.

Co-writing and ownership of records is a first for these women — since being put together on the U.S. edition of the televised singing competition “The X Factor,” the members of Fifth Harmony, which also includes Lauren Jauregui, 21, have struggled to assert their independence and prove they’re singular artists who are not just a made-for-TV creation.

We’re so in sync, the four of us. When you have a strong unit, there’s no stopping you.

— Lauren Jauregui

That Fifth Harmony even made it to album No. 3 is something of a feat. Just a few months ago, the group was parting ways — acrimoniously — with one of its founding members as rumors of conflict hit a fever pitch.

And yet in recent weeks, the act has filmed two music videos — including a sexy, lo-fi clip for “Angel,” its new single that was produced by Skrillex and carries hip-hop-inflections — and its members are rehearsing for a tour and Fifth Harmony’s debut at the MTV Video Music Awards on Aug. 27.

“It’s the most monumental moment of our careers,” Kordei said. And the turnaround couldn’t have come quicker. Though the act seemed to be coming into its own with last year’s well-received release “7/27,” there was enough behind-the-scenes drama to fill a whole other reality show.

In December, the group appeared to be in crisis when it announced that singer Camila Cabello had exited just hours after a performance.

The group claims Cabello informed them via her representatives that she was out, something Cabello has rebutted.

And then things got messier.

Shortly after news of Cabello’s departure broke, a recording was leaked of Jauregui tearfully telling Hernandez that the group was being treated like “literal slaves.”

They were exhausted from touring — a period in which more than one member lost loved ones — and frustrated by a lack of creative fulfillment. From the beginning, Fifth Harmony has said that it had zero say in collaborators or the creation of its music, often receiving songs the day before studio sessions.

Often, its members say, the anxiety was crippling, and they started to resent performing. The dream of being the preeminent girl group of its generation was proving to be anything but.

We’ve been taking leaps of faiths — and trusting ourselves.

— Dinah Jane Hansen

“We lost the magic of it all,” Hansen added. “We were doing songs just to do songs.”

The magic, such as it was, began in 2012 when the thenteens entered the short-lived U.S. edition of “The X Factor” as solo contestants. They fizzled out but were then packaged as a group by Simon Cowell and then-Epic Records Chairman L.A. Reid.

Fifth Harmony took third place in the competition, scoring a joint deal with Epic Records and Cowell’s Syco Music.

Though a wave of boy bands had found recent success — including One Direction (assembled on the British version of “X Factor” — no girl group had managed to hit it big like Danity Kane, Pussycat Dolls, Destiny’s Child, the Spice Girls or TLC did in their prime.

Today, pop is dominated by assertive yet solo female artists, and Fifth Harmony risked looking like a relic from another era. And that doesn’t even consider the simple challenge of cultivating chemistry among a group of teenage girls who met on a TV show.

“When you get in a group, you have to go in understanding it’s not just about you and your ideas. It is a collaboration,” said TLC’s Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas. “When you think of [girl groups], most of them don’t stay together, because it’s not easy at all. Chemistry is something you either have or don’t have.”

Epic worked heavily to sell Fifth Harmony, keeping the group on the road constantly, often booking concerts at malls. “Every season, for 4½ years … I was a zombie,” Jauregui recalls.

From the outside, there was much to celebrate.

Fifth Harmony’s 2015 debut, “Reflection,” saw the group pick up where Destiny’s Child and TLC had left off, with an album full of slinky dance-pop and R&B/hip-hop-informed girl power anthems — with breakout single “Worth It” becoming one of the year’s biggest earworms.

The act then made history last year as the first girl group to score a top 10 Billboard Hot 100 smash in nearly a decade with the snappy “Work From Home.”

Yet the women in Fifth Harmony said they it felt burnt out and controlled by the label — like “puppets,” they agree. The women pushed though teary onstage breakdowns, infighting and family feuding.

“It came to a point where I’d catch myself onstage and realize, ‘I’m not feeling this,’” Kordei said. “It scared me, because this is what I want to do for the rest of my life.”

Today, the women are relaxed and comfortable discussing their recent history. They’re dressed in active wear — Kordei’s shirt has “Phenomenal Woman” emblazoned across it, while Jauregui is wearing the anti-discrimination top Frank Ocean recently made famous — and their faces are makeup-free.

Jauregui reflected on the stress of the past.

We’ve been grateful to have a machine behind us. But we definitely needed respect — and we had to demand it.

— Ally Brooke Hernandez

“You’re in front of so many people that you know love you,” she said. “To be in a space where you don’t connect or when you feel bored in that kinda setting …”

“You feel guilty,” Kordei offered.

“It’s overwhelming to have your whole, entire life planned for something you don’t feel passionate about,” said Jauregui, the room falling silent. “You’re not seeing your family, your friends. You’re not doing anything for yourself. It was depressing, draining and sad. Now, it’s a whole different thing.”

In fact, the members of Fifth Harmony had long been fighting for the autonomy and respect that they are only now receiving. In late 2015, Hernandez contacted outspoken L.A. music lawyer Dina LaPolt, who helped the group clean house.

LaPolt got them new management with the powerhouse firm Maverick and helped transfer the Fifth Harmony trademark from Cowell to its members, giving them complete ownership of the brand.

A more favorable contact with Epic was then negotiated, but the women still weren’t in the driver’s seat when it came to music.

Everything we’ve been through, the ups and downs, I really believe it was to shape and mold us for this moment.

— Normani Kordei

“We were 15, 16 and 19 when we started,” Jauregui said. “We didn’t have any basic understanding of business, and we’re being thrown into this world of wolves where they really screw you over with contracts. We were really in a line of adversity.”

After Cabello’s departure, the women realized they wanted to work on repairing the group’s dynamic as well as its relationship with the label in order to become more vocal about its career ambitions. “We all got on the same page … and fought for our say,” Hansen said.

A key ally was Epic A&R executive Chris Anokute, who joined their team during the recording of “7/27.”

“They were uninspired, beaten up, bruised. They weren’t gelling,” Anokute said. “You could tell there were some things going on between the girls … issues with management. They started venting their insecurities and desire to write songs, and I realized they were never a part of it.”

Anokute pushed Reid to commit to another album after the turmoil with Cabello (Reid left the label in May), bolstering the group’s confidence.

“We are being more respected this time around,” Hansen said. “We are in a place where we know what we want and who we are. We’ve recognized our truth and what we have to offer — and our power.”

I love these girls and consider them sisters. I have such high visions for us, the four of us. Everything that has come true this year has been validation.

— Ally Brooke Hernandez

Fifth Harmony finding its voice shows on the new album — its title a nod to the group’s newfound independence.

The album was recorded in seven weeks at Santa Monica’s Windmark Recording, and the women co-wrote more than half of the songs on the project — splitting into pairs and penning the type of tunes they’ve wanted to do alongside handpicked producers, including Dreamlab, the Stereotypes, Harmony Samuels, the Monsters & Strangerz and Tommy Brown.

The record is raw, soulful, sexy and fully the group’s own vision.

On a recent afternoon, the pop of a Champagne bottle echoed around a boardroom inside Epic Records’ headquarters on the Sony lot in Culver City.

Cheers, air kisses and hugs awaited the ladies as they filed into a room stuffed with label staff gathered to hear Fifth Harmony’s new album — a mountain of tacos and bottles of tequila and Champagne awaiting them.

Before the music began, acting Epic President Sylvia Rhone led the room in a toast.

“To the baddest ladies in the business — it’s a pleasure to have worked with you guys,” Rhone said, her glass of Champagne hoisted high above her head as the women looked on with glassy eyes, clutching one another’s hands.

“It finally feels like we are living our lives. We’ve taken ownership,” Kordei said. “It’s been there all along, but maybe we weren’t confident enough or bold enough. This time, we’ve got the extra fire … and we don’t care what anyone else has to say.

“I kinda wish it could have been like this all along,” Kordei said with a sigh.

Jauregui, unarguably Fifth Harmony’s most outspoken member — she’s the first to admit group members barely listen to their earlier work — takes a bolder stance.

“We would have freaking dominated,” she said.

Frost (Chapter Six)

So this chapter has some of my favorite moments of the entire fic. No spoilers, but I can’t wait to hear what you guys think.

“Is there a reason for this particular banquet?” Tony asked, adjusting the necklace he wore every day so it lay better against his shirt. “It seems like you people do an awful lot of feasting.”

“And whatever could you mean by ‘you people’?” Thor teased, coming up behind Tony to help. “This color is lovely on you, Anthony.”

“Yes well, your servants seem to think you and I need to match at all times.” Tony rolled his eyes. “But we do look good all decked out in red, don’t we?”

“You shine brighter than I, my love.” Thor turned him from the mirror and brushed gentle fingers through Tony’s hair. It was getting longer and starting to curl and it made him look soft and young and Thor adored it. “Red might be my favorite color on you.”

“I thought blue was your favorite color.” Tony teased, and stood on his toes for a kiss.

“I rather believe nude is my favorite color on you.” Thor murmured into his lips and Tony laughed.

“I believe you.”

Thor sighed, more of a growl than anything, and lifted Tony into his arms before turning towards the bed, pushing the covers down to lay Tony out across the soft sheets.

“I thought we had a banquet to go to.” Tony protested half heartedly, feeling the electricity between them already rising to the surface, and when he ran his hand down Thor’s chest, sparks jumped between them. “Do we have time to–”

You had thought that being kidnapped only really happened in movies. You realised as you awoke to find yourself gagged and tied to a chair that you were wrong. There were three kidnappers in total, all of them creepy, intimidatingly huge men and all of them refusing to acknowledge your existence as they paced around what looked like a basement.
You glared at each of them and searched for a way out, desperately trying to loosen the ropes around your hands. It didn’t take you long to give up. The rope burns were unbearable and you weren’t strong enough to free yourself. Besides, one of the men had noticed you were awake.
“I wouldn’t bother, little girl,” he sneered, grabbing the other guys’ attention as he did. “Save your energy. You might need it later.”
You wanted to ask what he meant by that, but the cloth that gagged you prevented it. You wanted to scream or cry, but it was all you could do to stare at them, your breathing ragged. And then another voice emerged from behind you, one you recognized immediately, though you couldn’t quite place why at first.
“Y'know, three of you against one of her hardly seems fair,” the voice said. Its owner came into view then, and you saw that it was Spider-Man. You had only ever seen him on the news before, and the fact that you knew his voice from somewhere only baffled you further. “I guess that’s why you tied her to a chair, right? So you’d even the playing field, make sure you wouldn’t get beat up by a girl half your size?”
“Well, look at that,” one of the guys said tauntingly, pulling a knife from his pocket. Panic rolled over you. Spider-Man looked smaller in person, and you forgot about all the times you’d seen him save lives on television. He couldn’t fight these men, surely. “It’s Spider-Man. Can we get an autograph?”
You weren’t sure what happened then; it was dark and it had happened so quickly your brain could barely register it. All you knew that the knife flew across the room and clattered against the brick wall, and its previous owner stared down at his now empty hand dumbly.
“Sorry,” Spider-Man retorted. “My boss said I’m not allowed to do that. You might sell it on eBay.”
And then the fighting happened. There were grunts and exclamations of pain, bodies thumping to the floor and silhouettes flying about everywhere. You shuffled backwards on your chair, and then Spider-Man seemed to be reminded of your presence and pushed you backwards with a force you hadn’t been expecting. The wind was knocked out of you as you and your chair hit the wall opposite.
It went on for what seemed like forever, though it could barely be called a fight. There was only one man left, and Spider-Man was fighting him as though it was effortless. From a distance, you could see things more clearly; his webs flying from his wrist as he stuck the final guy to the wall and kicked him once in the abdomen. He was unconscious and you breathed a sigh of relief.
You half expected Spider-Man to leave you to find your own way home, but the boy in blue and red made his way over to you and untied the rope from your mouth with a new sort of urgency. “Are you alright? Are you hurt?”
You shook your head, still wondering where on earth you had heard that voice before. “No. They hit me over the head before, but I’m alright, I think.”
He was untying your wrists then. “You should get it checked out, just in case.”
It was those words that reminded you of the voice and where you had heard it. A couple of weeks ago in biology, you’d cut yourself whilst dissecting a sheep’s heart. It had been Peter Parker, your lab partner, who had told you to get it checked out—just in case. It was the same voice, and the same amount of concern that filled it now.
You stood up, rubbing your now bare wrists and frowning. “You sound like…” But how could Peter Parker be Spider-Man? He was just a slightly awkward, kind of skinny, guy at school. You wondered if they had hit you over the head a lot harder than you thought.
“Captain America? I get that a lot. Trust me.” He scratched the back of his head uncomfortably, something that Peter Parker often did around you.
“It’s you, isn’t it? Peter?”
He scoffed and it turned into a noisy splutter as he turned away from you. “Peter. What sort of name is that? My name is…Pedro. Y'know what, it’s not important. You probably have a concussion or something. We should get you to a hospital.”
You rolled your eyes and stood on your tiptoes so that you could pull his mask off. You were not surprised to see the familiar face underneath it, but still you let out a sharp breath. “I knew it.”
“I really should start securing that thing on properly. Anybody could rip it off.” He tugged the mask back, a slight blush on his cheeks. “There’s no way I can convince you that I’m not Spider-Man now, is there?”
“No, I think your cover is pretty much blown,” you whispered.
He nodded, his eyes lowering to the floor. “As much as I’d like to have this conversation in a creepy basement surrounded by unconscious kidnappers, how about I walk you home?”
You agreed silently, following him out of the basement and relaxing slightly when you were met with the cool night air. He had already changed into his normal clothes and you found yourself questioning whether any of it had been real.
“Are you sure you’re alright? What did those guys want with you anyway?” he asked as you began to walk.
You shrugged. “It’s New York. It was bound to happen sometime, I guess. Thank you for saving me, Peter. I don’t know what would have happened if you weren’t there.”
“It’s my job, I guess.”
“Right. How did you find me?”
He smirked at this. “You missed our study date, remember?”
It dawned on you then that you had been supposed to meet Peter in the library earlier this evening and had been headed to do just that when you were attacked. “Right. Sorry.”
He stopped in the street, his lips pursed, and you turned back to face him. “Listen, [Y/N], you can’t tell anyone ab—”
“I wasn’t going to. You don’t have to worry, Spider-Man.”
He smiled and nodded, shoving his hands in his pockets as the two of you began to walk again.
“I am a little confused, though. You’re, like, a superhero. That’s crazy.”
“Yeah,” he agreed. “It is. I’m glad I can finally talk to someone about it, though.”
The shock of what had happened was setting in and you walked the rest of the way in silence, only stopping when you finally reached your house. You rubbed your wrists again, wincing where the rope had rubbed and blistered them. “Thanks for walking me home … and, y'know, saving my life.”
“Thanks for being cool about this. Although I do wish you’d see a doctor.” He looked down to your wrists, a flicker of guilt flashing in his eyes. You couldn’t understand why until he spoke again. “I should have been there sooner.”
“You couldn’t have known,” you sighed. “You got there right on time. That’s more than I was expecting of anyone, let alone you.”
You knew you should have been freaking out. Your lab partner-slash-friend was Spider-Man, and he had just saved your life. Still, when you looked at him, he was still Peter Parker to you, and he appreciated that more than you knew. He wanted you to like him for him, not for all the superhero baggage that came with it.
“Just … Just text me tomorrow, okay? Let me know you’re alright?”
You nodded and placed a timid kiss on his cheek, causing him to look down at his feet, the moonlight highlighting his flushed face. “Goodnight, Peter Parker.”
You made your way to your door, turning back to see that he was grinning. He gave you a small wave before you shut your door, one that made you feel that perhaps things were changing—and not just because your lab partner was Spider-Man, but because he had never looked at you quite like that before. At least, not that you had noticed.

Dance Into My Heart

You and Jihoon are partnered up for your friend Somi’s dance video, and get closer as you prepare for filming.

  • for anon who requested you and jihoon partnered up at 1million; i didn’t explicitly state 1million but like u can imagine that the studio is 1million iDK
  • dancers au
  • seongwoo is a little shit (what’s new lmao)

You carefully retied your hair as you headed back inside the dance studio where your best friend and YouTube dancer, Kim Jennie, worked.

“You actually came,” she greeted you as you stepped inside, gym bag slung over your shoulder.

“Anything for my girl,” you replied with a smile, following her inside the studio, dancers milling around and chatting.

“I’m so glad you came,” she expressed, “one of my co-workers, Somi, is starting her own YouTube channel and really wanted her first choreo video to be the best it could, so of course I volunteered you.”

“Are you also gonna be in it?” you inquired, tilting your head as you followed her into one of the studio rooms, following her lead and setting your bag down next to hers.

Jennie shook her head. “Somi only needed one more girl, since it’s a partner dance,” she explained, “and you’re better at the style she’s going for than I am.”

“Ah,” you nodded, “wait, then why are you here?”

“I’m helping her teach you all the moves,” Jennie explained, “she’s not too experienced with teaching, so I figured I’d give her a hand.”

“Wow, what a saint,” you teased, patting her on the back as you slipped into a ratty old practice shirt. A few of the other participants entered, greeting the two of you. There was Nayoung, a tall, quiet girl who shocked you with her grace as she took the spot next to you, warming up her muscles carefully..

“Good morning!” A cheerful guy with a sharp jawline entered the room, followed by two much quieter guys, one with light honey blond hair, the other with darker brown hair.

“It’s not morning, Seongwoo,” Nayoung sighed, rolling her eyes.

“It’s morning if you believe it is,” the guy—Seongwoo—shot back

Jennie’s friend, Somi, rushed into the room, out of breath and red-faced. “I’m sorry I’m late,” she exclaimed, bowing at all of you before waving at Jennie. “I’ll give you guys time to warm up, then we can get started.”

You nodded, running through your normal warm-ups as you chatted with Mina and Jennie, Nayoung occasionally pitching in.

“Okay,” Somi clapped her hands, “so as mentioned when I reached out to everyone, this is a partner dance, and I paired everyone up based on height. Nayoung, you’ll be with Mr. Freak.”

“Hey!” Seongwoo complained, “I take offense to that!”

You snickered at his mock-offended expression, his hand clutched to his chest.

“(y/n), you’ll be with Jihoon, and I’ll be with Woojin,” she explained, clapping her hands again, “so let’s get started. Jennie and I will run through the dance, and then we can break it down beat by beat.”

Jihoon walked over to stand next to you, greeting you quickly.

“Park Jihoon,” he introduced himself quietly as Jennie messed around with the stereo, trying to get it to work.

“(y/n),” you smiled, shaking his outstretched hand, “let’s work well together!”

You watched as Jennie and Somi moved fluidly to the beat, surprised that someone as young as Somi would be choreographing such a sexual dance. Next to you, Jihoon was turning a bit pink. You were comfortable with it having done partner dances like it for other choreographers’ videos before, but from what you’d heard about Park Jihoon, he didn’t have much experience in the more… mature department.

“Okay, let’s start on the first beat,” Somi instructed. You took the starting position, Jihoon behind you.

“You’re okay with this?” Jihoon asked quickly, looking forward at you. You grinned at that and nodded, appreciative of how cautious he was.

“It’s fine,” you assured him, “we’re dancers—this is what we do.”

Jihoon nodded, carefully placing a hand on your waist like the choreo dictated. You were surprised at the bolt of electricity that ran through you at his light touch.

“Filming is tomorrow, guys,” Somi called as everyone wrapped up, stretching their muscles out and cooling down, “so please don’t come in your, like, pajamas.” You smiled at that, shoving your sweaty clothing back into your duffel bag. Your idiot self had forgotten to bring a pullover, so you were left in your street shirt only, not nearly enough clothing against the crisp night air.

“You ready for tomorrow?” Jihoon asked you as the two of you headed out of the building.

“Me?” You shrugged, “I think so—we had the choreography down pretty well. Mr. Freak on the other hand…”

“Hey!” Seongwoo groaned, “I fall one time, one time, and suddenly everyone makes fun of me. It was one time.”

You and Jihoon just traded amused looks and continued off the elevator after saying goodnight to everyone. After the first day of rehearsals, you’d figured out that you waited at the same bus stop, taking different buses, so now the two of you walked to the bus stop together. Rehearsals had lasted a week, and Jihoon was obviously nervous for actual filming.

“Are you cold?” Jihoon asked as the two of you took a seat at the bus stop next to each other.

“Hm?” You looked up at him, in the middle of rubbing your arms for warmth, “Oh, I’ll be fine, the bus is almost here.”

Jihoon shrugged out of his large hoodie, handing it to you, “just give it back to me tomorrow—my bus is right here anyways.”

You accepted the hoodie from him, watching as he boarded the bus quickly, sending you a charming smile. You waved goodbye, tentatively sliding the hoodie on. It was warm, and smelled incredibly good (not that you were like, sniffing it. That’s creepy).

The next day, filming goes smoothly. Of course, Jihoon doesn’t mess up or anything, and he’s obviously super relieved about that.

As you’re about to head out with Nayoung and Jennie, you hear someone call your name.

Jihoon is standing there with a sheepish expression and pink cheeks, Seongwoo and Woojin a few steps behind him (Seongwoo is smirking with an expression fit for the devil).

“Ah Jihoon, what’s up?” You asked, waiting for him to catch up to you. You’re pretty sure that he flashed Seongwoo the middle finger before he turned to you with a smile.

“Um, I was wondering if you’d like to go get barbeque with me?” He asked tentatively, looking over at you hopefully, “like, as a date.”

You smiled widely, nodded, “yeah, I’d love to.”

Seongwoo screeched—like, screeched—and pounded Jihoon on the back, prompting Jihoon to shove him off. You laughed at the interaction, reaching down to intertwine your fingers with his. Jihoon smiled, squeezing your hand tightly as the two of you set off, happy that you two were actually going on a date.

A Late Night Chat: a Ghoul!Jack au oneshot

Sean struggled against the bonds that kept him strapped to the operating table. He had to get out of here! He knew what they were going to do, they had done it many times before. It couldn’t happen again, it couldn’t! He couldn’t handle it, the pain always got worse, increasing each time they did it. It felt like his sanity was hanging on by only a thread, and if they succeeded in doing their ‘tests’ again, he believed he would lose it completely. Unfortunately, in his malnourished state, there was no way he was strong enough to break through the straps.
Several people in scrubs came into the room, one wheeling in a tray covered in syringes filled with various liquids. His blue eyes widened at the sight, the once bright orbs now dull from the horrors he’d experienced. No, nonono no! His struggles increased, causing several of the people to come over and hold him down, keeping him still. A man pulled a syringe filled with a purplish grey liquid off of the tray, walking over to Jack. He tried to struggle again but the other people kept a firm grip on him.

He winced as he felt the needle of the syringe slide into his arm. A strangled scream tore it’s way out of him as the odd liquid entered his veins, feeling like molten lava was flowing through his body. Something in him finally snapped and he blacked out. When he came to again he was standing on a grassy hill, the old prison where he had been kept standing behind him. He blinked in confusion before he noticed the feeling of something wet and sticky all over him. He glanced down and cried out in surprise and fear.

Blood and bits of flesh was splattered all over him. He could feel some on his mouth and in his teeth. He stared at his shaking, blood stained hands, memories of what had happened flooding in. All those people, he had torn them apart, even going so far as to eat a few. Tears pricked his eyes and his stomach rolled at the thought. He just barely kept himself from puking. Another part of him relished the memories, and he recoiled from that part, disgusted with himself. He had seen enough anime to know what he was now. A ghoul. His head snapped up when he heard a odd sound and turned to see a child staring at him with wide, fearful eyes. He felt the thing he had turned into earlier stir again, and couldn’t stop the wicked grin his lips curled into. A terrified scream was heard as he lunged for the child.

J woke up in a cold sweat, breathing heavily. Another nightmare. Thank god it was just that, though at this point, he no longer had any hope of a god existing. At least not a merciful one. “Jack? You okay? You were crying out in your sleep,” A voice said. J sighed, turning his head to face Chase, who was standing in his doorway. “I’m fine Chase, just a nightmare. And I keep telling you, call me J. The Jack you knew is long gone,” He said, voice soft. He sounded so tired of the world, much older then a 27 year old should sound.

He brushed a strand of hair out of his eyes. The once green hair had turned an ashen color with a slight purple tint at some point during the time he was held prisoner. He didn’t know why, it just did. “Sorry. I’m just not used to calling you that yet. Do you want to talk about your nightmare?” Chase asked, coming closer. J shook his head. “Not much to talk about. All my nightmares are roughly the same, only a few differences here and there. But they always end the same way, with me killing someone. Someone who doesn’t deserve to die,” He said, his voice going soft towards the end.

“J, you know you’d never do that, right? Your ghoul half may act kinda wild, but it’s still you and has shown no intention of hurting innocent people. I mean, you have your moments when your PTSD gets bad, but we’re always able to calm you down,” Chase said, sitting on the edge of the bed. “But what if one day you can’t? Or if you don’t get to me soon enough. You guys can’t watch me all the time. I just don’t want to become more of a monster then I already am,” J replied, unable to look Chase in the eyes.

"You’re not a monster J. A monster wouldn’t worry about potentially harming the innocent,“ A new voice spoke up. J glanced at the doorway. “How long have you been listening Marvin?” He asked. “Long enough,” Yet another voice said. “You too Anti? Let me guess, Shneep and Jackaboy are in the hallway too.” “Nope. Henrik is in his lab working on that cure he’s been trying to make and Jackaboy Man is trying to convince him to get some rest,” Marvin said.  "That man works so hard. He really thinks he can find a way to make you human again,“ Anti added, leaning against the doorframe.

J sighed. “Even if he does, I still won’t be the old Jack. Those people broke me,” He muttered. “It may feel like that now but, time mends all things. You’ll never be the old you completely but, given time to heal, you can get close,” Chase said, putting a comforting hand on J’s shoulder. “And even if you don’t, we still care about you. You’re our friend,” Marvin added.
“That, and we owe our existence to you and your fans, so we can’t exactly just abandon you,” Anti said. Marvin shot him a glare. “What? It’s true. You can’t pretend that that doesn’t have a factor in this.” “That doesn’t mean we have to blatantly point it out. You can be way too callous Anti,” Marvin said, annoyed. “Uh, hello? Dark side of J? Ring any bells? Of course I’m not going to be delicate with things.” “If you two are going to bicker you can leave you know,” Chase said, glaring at both of them. “Since when were you the mature the one?” Anti asked. “You forget that I’m a dad. I know how to be mature when I have to.”

"Not to be rude but, I want to go back to sleep now. Would guys mind leaving?“ J spoke up. “Heh, sorry. We’ll be going now. Come one you two,” Chase said getting up and dragging Marvin and Anti out by the ears, clearly still in Dad mode. “Ow ow ow ow,” Marvin and Anti said in unison as they were dragged out. J chuckled a little under his breath. The whole lot of em were a bunch of goofballs. But they were his goofballs. And he was glad to have them here for him during this craziness. He layed down and drifted back to sleep, a soft smile on his face.

Okay listen up losers I'm about to prove a fucking point.

So my presentation will be about proving season 3 Shiro is a clone and why DreamWorks made it too easy. I rewatched a crapton on episodes to make this, I need to sleep.

If you guys didn’t notice the first thing Clone Shiro, umm wait imma call him Kuro Kuro looks at is his hand and a Galra symbol.

And that in and of itself is a big clue because there’s already a lot of meaning behind that since season 2. In which, Hunk and that team discussed how the arm can be used against them.

Memory is key! How could Galra have Shiro’s memories? The arm! Like Hunk said, if it could create memories than it’s pretty safe to say it can record them too.

Linking that with the shot of the Galra emblem is a huge deal in symbolism. Trust me I’m an English major, I deal with this shit all the time.

(I’m writing this on my laptop and phone at the same time, godspeed)

Speaking of symbolism, Ulaz made an appearance when Kuro was dazed

(Is that even Ulaz? I can’t tell I’m bad with faces)

This does two things. Reaffirm Kuro’s undying trust with his arm, and make a connection with Galra as a comrade. Lemme explain;

During Shiro’s ‘I can suddenly remember shit’ scene in season 2? He die-hard believes the memories are his and not a [insert dream here] from Galra, by showing him Ulaz they are trying to recreate that same feeling.

By showing him a Galra (regardless of being evil or not) you’re connecting the dots with trust.

That could be a good reason why the Galra decided to give Shiro a weaponized arm in the first place. Why would they power him up for shits and giggles? Haggard herself even said this:

(Bitch, no thanks.) They wouldn’t have given him a cool fighting arm just so he could be cooler in the arena. That’s fucking idiotic to arm a prisoner. (sorry)

This wouldn’t even be the first time Haggard had some evil version of Shiro

Remember this scene from season 1? Cuz I sure fucking do.

Speaking of that arm, why would they take it in the first place? Listen, it’s already pretty fishy they gave him a super arm but why would they take it at all? Dare I say, D N A ?

This leads me back to this scene here:

Why would Kuro hurt himself? A French term can explain this, ‘L’appel du vide’ translation: The call of the void. Basically, your brain is telling you to self-destruct in order to take control of a situation.  Now we already discussed how the Galra controls his brain sort of so that’s that.

Now I know what you’re saying: Oh! But that’s so he could close the wound!!

Listen, man, I did training with an Army doctor on quick fixes for medical emergencies. Now I’m not saying I’m an expert cuz I’m not, but if Kuro did that do it to heal himself up it wasn’t done correctly. Or at least done accurately…. Especially with an unknown power. This might be wrong, it was a brief training,  so don’t take this part too seriously.

Adding to this point:

If you’ve ever seen anyone wake up from a long coma, and I mean  l o n g  coma, they don’t have full feeling in their muscles and tend to fall because they do not have full control of their limbs. I’m assuming by the hair this hasn’t been up and about for enough time to get that effect.

Speaking of hair, yes guys, Kuro’s hair is WAY too long to be Shiro.

(Lmao, Shiro/Kuro w/ long hair; hit or miss??)

Kuro’s hair shows that he hasn’t cut it in at least 1 ½ years. There might not be much context of how long he was missing but I’m sure as hell it’s couldn’t be more than a few months since Keith was searching through the Glara rubble.

<Man, all these analytical essays are finally paying off>

This scene here:

Is a big clue. For real why would the Black Lion do that? Send him into more danger? That’s not right.

Well, guess what, she didn’t.

Remeber this gem? I sure fucking do.

She sent him with someone he trusts, Matt. This really makes sense cuz mATT JUST HASN’T SHOWED UP BUT IS OBVIOUSLY REALLY IMPORTANT *cough* sorry, I don’t know what came over me….

Not only does Shiro trust him but so does Pidge, and I know those two never really had a connection but they kinda all share a state of thought while forming Voltron…

So the Black Lion theoretically has seen Pidge’s thoughts and stuff. Theoretically Black has two reasons why to trust Matt.

The Black Lion has so many reasons to send Shiro to Matt and not some Galra base.

This can also help understand why the Black Lion didn’t trust Kuro.

From what I’ve seen (or remember seeing at 4 AM, I haven’t slept in 45ish hours guys, help) all of you guys think that Black knows that’s not Shiro from the Connection they have but that might not be it!

Kuro thinks he’s Shiro, he has the same memories, the same body, the same scar on the face! So the Connection can still be there, what he doesn’t have is Matt with him.

Which wouldn’t make sense because Black sent him there, so it’s ridiculous cuz “hey I sent you to be with your buddy? Why didn’t you bring him along to see his sister who has been searching for him like crazy???”

That could be why the Black Lion found Kuro and trusted that was the OG but then changed its mind and was like ‘no thanks’ when she saw Matt wasnt with him.

I mean look how….happy?? She looks when they find him!

Why would that change after the fact? The Connection had to be there in order to sense him in the first place. It just makes sense.

Also look at the symbolism here again:

Kuro is in a Galra ship, it’s so subtle you might not even catch it (unless you’re used to over analyzing everything in order to fit 3 more pages into a term paper like me)

Instead of animating Kuro getting physically off the fighter they show them apart, separated from Black. They show him in enemy weaponry.

As an enemy kinda…

(I’m getting too into this…)

This is Kuro while he’s being cloned

This is Kuro after he’s ‘escaping’

Sounds like the plan was a success, but all that happened was Kuro getting away? I don’t know about you but prisoners stay locked up, unless they aren’t.

They even say Kuro’s is approved for Operation Kuron!

Also from that scene:

Kuro was given that codename ‘Subject Y0XT39′

But Shiro already had a codename, and it wasnt that.

Its ‘Prisoner 117-9875′

Subject and Prisoner are two different things and two different codes.

Kuron is already a huge fucking clue. I donno know if you seen this yet but,

Shiro’s name is literally White and the opposite is Black or Kuro which sounds a lot like Kuron

If you think that’s just a coincidence then try this:

Just try telling me this isn’t legit?

To add just a bit more, Kuro and Keith clashed a lot while both trying to lead Voltron.

He also made it so Keith looked like a weak leader, which he was not once he got more use to the role.

Appearance wise, Kuro is different from Shiro in a low key way. First off both haircuts he has where different from Shiro’s. They’re all horrible but that’s a different story.

His cloths is different too, it shows more skin. The sleeve shows his arm and he took off his glove. Symbolically this means he trying to be more open, more free, more approachable.

This would make it easier to give the wrong feeling of trust to the team, which is the plan Kuro was given

*searching through my notes* okay did I miss anything…? Ah Yes!!

When Shiro first meets those two freedom fighters the transmission radio picks of two things; something less important about Lotor and Voltron.

Which one was ignored and which one was heard?

Yes guys, Kuro didn’t even pay attention to Lotor cuz that’s not what he was told to do. He was told to find out about Voltron which, he did.

Also with those freedom fighters, we learn this:

It wouldn’t have been easy to escape injured and tired. When he escaped the first time it was with the help of Ulaz. They didn’t even try keeping him there, he wasn’t restrained and didn’t have any guards. The only thing trying to stop him were those androids they know Kuro/Shiro could easily defeat.

And last thing.

And I think this is the most important thing.

He didn’t finish that sentence.

He didn’t say he wasn’t a traitor.

He didn’t have too.

This concludes my presentation on ‘Proving That’s not Shiro but Kuro the Clone’

Thank you for your time.

For my next presentation, I will talk about why we should save Kuro and love him indefinitely

Bon Voyage S2 Ep.8 - BTS’ letters to each other

YOONGI → SEOKJIN

“To. Jinjinjara, Seokjin-hyung!!

It’s your forever roommate, Suga.

Can you believe I have known you for 7 years… I remember when I met you for the first time. I’m surprised and amazed that the one who used to look so upright and kind… has become very bright and cheerful these days. I believe it’s because you’re with us. It seems like just yesterday you were nervous and not confident when you had to sing and perform on stage, but seeing your performance these days makes me think you sing really well. It’s no doubt the result of working hard for a long time. Even though I have been watching you for a long time, it still touched me how you secretly work hard to make up what you lack in. I thought of you as a hyung whom I have a lot to learn from. Let’s keep going together for a long time in the future too.

P.S: But I hope you can act your age.”

SEOKJIN → JUNGKOOK

“To. JK

Hi JK, it’s hyung.

I’m always thankful to you. Thanks for having the same mental age as this 26-year-old hyung. And traveling with you this time made me feel this once again. Your fists are really strong. I will be good to you, don’t hit me, got it? And your face got tanned a lot. As I’m your hyung I’ll give you facial masks when we get back to Korea. Calm your skin and yourself as well, stop lying on my bed. You keep lying on my bed when I’m not there and send me your selfies. If you do that one more time, your face may have got tanned in Hawaii, but I’ll throw you into the fire pit in Korea. And by “fire pit” I mean my firey heart. You can come into my big embrace. Thanks for always becoming our team’s teacher and energizer. To Jungkook who’s kind and handsome and strong and has nice body and big eyes and sings well and dances well, I love you.”

JUNGKOOK → NAMJOON

“To. Namjoonie-hyung

Hi hyung, it’s our team’s maknae, Jungkook.

I’m not the type to write letters often so I don’t know where to start, but I’ll try this time. This is something I always think about every day, but I really am inspired a lot by our team. Although I’m inspired by all 7 members, but I’m especially inspired the most by you. I always want to do a lot of things but can’t stick to them long, like how you guys always joke with me. But gradually, it feels like I really became that kind of person. When you work, talk about music, compose or speak in English, I feel like I grew a sense of confidence and passion. I know it must be tired for you, but please keep showing me your that cool side of yours in the future. I will keep following you from behind. You are a really awesome person.”

TAEHYUNG → JIMIN

“To Jimin.

Hi Jimin.

It cringes me a little to write a serious letter to you like this, but I’ll try. Hope you understand. When we were trainees, we came to Seoul without knowing anything. We would wake up, put on uniforms, go to school together, eating together after school ends, go to the practice room together, go back to the dorm together, and chat together at night. 6 years passed and unknowingly, you have become my dearest precious friend. There was a time before we debuted when you were anxious because of the debut. I had a meeting with the company at that time. They asked me “What would it be if Jimin was on the team?”. After thinking for a while, I said, “There’s no one who’s by my side when I’m tired or happy to laugh and cry with me but Jimin. I hope such a friend could be by my side. I want us to debut together.” It felt good to say that. I’m happy that we was able debut together and make lots of good memories. And sorry, because I’m always the one who take. Even know, you still cry with me when I cry in the bathroom, laugh with me when we sneak out at dawn, care about me and think of me, work hard because of me and understand me, listen to my worries, liking someone who’s lacking so much like me. Let’s keep walking together on the flower path for a long time. I love you, my friend.”

NAMJOON → TAEHYUNG

“Taehyung-ah.

So my first letter is to you. I have mixed emotions. Like the pebbles on the beach we saw in Hawaii, it’s hard to pick out what I want to say to you. Maybe it’s because we’re cherishing so many memories and so many moments like the sea we saw? I thought of the time when I first met you. Seeing you following your father, roaming around the dorm with big eyes and pouty lips, I already felt it from first sight. “This kid will be a rascal”. I remember how anxious you were before we debuted. Your unique and strange character is so vague that I sometimes questioned what’s in you that helped you endure all the way here. But as time passes and I mature more, I learned that even I, who I myself thought was the most normal, am quite strange and unique like an alien. I was drawn by your strangeness. Sometimes I really envy you. Because you can get close easily to anyone and everyone likes you. Your strangeness proved to be your unique charm. It may sound cringeworthy, but as a friend, a hyung who have been with you from the beginning of your trainee journey to now, I wanted to say thank you to you. Thank you for not becoming a farmer, not playing saxophone and came to Big Hit instead. Let’s keep up the good work. Fighting.”

HOSEOK → YOONGI

“To. My bro Suga
From. J-hope

Hi hyung? It’s Hoseok.

Without realizing, we have been together for 7 years, including our trainee days. When I first moved to the dorm, I was awkward and unfamiliar with everything, so I only stayed in the living room, but you came and talk to me first, helped me relax. I still can’t forget that time. You were like the savior to me, a Gwangju kid. Always by my side when I’m hurt, always by my side when I’m sad. You’re always there to support me and become my strength when I’m tired or exhausted. When I was tired from seasickness in Bon Voyage 2 this time, the first one I saw after opening my eyes was you. I couldn’t say then but I was really grateful to you. Through this letter and this chance, I want to tell you again that my gratitude to you is as great as the time we spent together. Hyung, thank you for becoming a member of BTS, thank you for becoming my dependable brother. Please keep staying by my side forever. I love my bro.”

JIMIN → HOSEOK

“To. Hoseokie-hyung

This wasn’t my first letter to you so I thought it wouldn’t be hard, but it was indeed not easy. I’m nervous. You’re the one whom I talk and share a lot with so think you’ll know well what I think and what I want to say. What do I think when I see you? “This person is really truthful and sincere”, “This person is really upright and kind”. You are probably the first one that made me understand a person can become this cool just by being truthful and sincere. As your brother and fellow member, I have a lot to learn from you. I wanted to tell you that I know you are always working hard to take care of us and I’m always sincerely thankful to you. Thank you, hyung. I hope you can take care of your body and stop worrying too much. To my hyung who I’m always thankful for, I love you.”

10 Baby Facts for SPN Fic Authors

[I swear this is not a rant - it ISN’T. Honest.]

It is actually kind of cool to realize that you possess specialty knowledge that may be of use to others. Stuff that you didn’t really KNOW you knew, until, of course, you are reading along in a fic and something the author describes (or the character says) brings your brain to a screeching halt. “That’s not right – it can’t possibly happen that way…” And then you go and do actual research to back up your gut knowledge. This little FAQ is the result of one such realization.

My dad fixed antique and classic cars for a living from 1964 – 1978, owning his own showroom for 3 years near the end of that time. Born in 1966, I grew up playing in old cars, hiding in floorboards and exploring them to my heart’s content. Our family car for several years was a 1966 Thunderbird, but when dad went to car shows, we rode in whatever he wanted to show off. I’ve been in rumble seats, hard top convertibles, cars with windshields that laid down flat, and cars with no roof, doors, or walls of any kind. My 1st car was a fully restored 1966 mustang. Without really realizing it, I soaked up a LOT of inherent understandings about older cars. The information below is based in that knowledge, backed up with some internet research.

The following is true about Baby (the character in SPN, not necessarily the actual cars that play her):

1) Compared to most modern sedans, Baby is BIG. Like REALLY BIG. She is 17 and ¾ feet long (5.4 meters) and 7 feet 8 inches wide (2.03 meters). Allowing for door thickness on either side and the gaps between doors and bench seat, I’m betting the front seat is a little over 5 feet wide. Given basic geometry and human skeletal limitations, this means it is not possible for the passenger to have their head resting against the passenger door/window AND place their hand on the driver’s thigh. If the passenger is in this position, the driver can,  at best, entwine fingers with the passenger’s outstretched hand. That’s IT (even with Sam’s monkey arms). Sitting up straight, yes. Slumped over, no. On the plus side, this is why the guys can, in fact, get some sleep in her (and have fun in the back seat).

2) Despite how big Baby is, she is kinda short. Baby is only 54 inches high (4’6” or 138 cm). INSIDE the car, she is slightly less than 4 feet tall total. This means that the following actions WILL make you bump your head (or butt or hands or feet) on the ceiling unless you are very very slow and careful: climbing over the back seat, straddling someone’s lap, taking off your pants or t-shirt (unless nearly lying down in the seat), and lunging across the front bench seat to attack someone bodily. And you will look graceless doing it. [Ahem, trust me on these, I KNOW.] Additional negative modifiers for Sam due to height.

More below the cut.

During his move to Washington, DC, Stiles made a number of realizations about life, the most prominent of which was that it was amazing what kind of hobbies a guy could pick up when his days weren’t packed full of running for his life from various supernatural horrors. Like trivia nights, for example. Stiles had a regular team and the entire bar groaned when they walked in because they knew they were about to get creamed.

Or the tabletop gaming club he joined, where everyone was just as competitive as he was, and punches had been thrown on more than one occasion.

Or like, Stiles jogged now.

Through the National Mall.

Like Captain America or some shit.

And with these hobbies came a sort of routine, and though most were on hold during the summer when his trivia team and gaming rivals were back home, the running stuck. It was calming and got his mind off things, gave him a chance to think about any papers he had to write, or de-stress about his FBI internship when it got a little hectic.

It was a good routine.

So every Saturday morning, Stiles got up a little earlier so he could get in his longer route, and left his dorm for his jog through the National Mall. On Saturdays, he took the path that went through the war memorials, down into West Potomac Park, and over to the Jefferson Memorial. It was his favorite place to take a breather because that early in the morning, there were rarely any tourists, and other joggers left him alone. It was nice and private, with a great view of the city across the water.

Stiles leaned back against the front steps and glanced around him casually, making sure there was no one too close before pulling out his little burner flip phone.

He had an old school drug dealer flip phone. His dad would be so proud.

There was only one number the phone ever called, so there was no need to save it under a name.

He waited for a few minutes, biding his time until the clock hit 7:15am, and then he called that number.

On the third ring, Derek picked up.

“Morning, sunshine!” Stiles greeted, already wide awake from his jog. Derek grunted back. He must’ve had a late night at the bar. “Any leads?”

Derek yawned loudly. “Still no werewolves with triskele tattoos, still wanted for murder.”

7:32 PM - Peter Parker

request -  queen. I love your writing. If you’re willing to do another peter Parker smut bc im full of sin and ur last one was so damn good, can u do one where u guys are friends and peter asks if he can eat u out “for practice” or something and he’s rly awkward about it ? if u don’t wanna do that or if u wanna change it in anyway that’s totally cool. thanks for sharing your word with the world, it’s amazing!!!

a/n - had to get around to writing my second smut fic on this blog and i hope it isn’t a flop like me!!! this is NOT a continuation of 11:57 PM, i just thought it was cool to name the smut fics a time bc i think it makes it mysterious?? idk im dumb LMAO but don’t forget to request a fic if you’d like and follow!

7:32 PM. The time where I was supposed to be studying for my upcoming exam in Chemistry, but instead I’m over at Peter’s apartment doing the complete opposite. From being teenagers, it automatically causes us to always want to touch the other, and that’s the case just about now.

Our textbooks laid on his desk as we were sitting on his bed, myself straddling his lap as he held me close to his body. Our lips were happily engaged, coming together countless times as some music played lowly in the background. May had just left to grab dinner, explaining why Peter took such advantage of the situation.

Peter’s lips left mine as they came for my neck, kissing my sweet spot tenderly. He had only waiter a couple of seconds before gliding his tongue over it, making my spine shiver rather than his. One thing that I noticed lately is that Peter is taking more control, even though his nervousness was still as clear as day.

“Peter..” I rasped, holding the back of his head. “Don’t stop.”

A/N: Oh my god you guys!!  I have so much to discuss but first and foremost I want to thank all of you for making this story into what it is.  I started this story two weeks ago and in those two weeks I’ve gained almost 2000 followers and have had success that I never even dreamed of.  Thank you so much for all that you’ve done for me, for this story, and hopefully for stories I write in the future!!! Skyline wouldn’t be what it is today without you guys.  Secondly, there will be a pt. 7!!!  I know I keep saying this, but I really did mean for this to be the last part.  It’s just that there are so many things I want to include and plot points I want to flesh out, and although I feel bad for writing angst chapter after angst chapter, I want to give you guys my all and I don’t want to short change you.  Finally, I would like to thank my friends Zoe and Jen for helping me brainstorm ideas and helping finalize details and plot points.  I love you guys so so much!!  Also, everyone, again, I DO NOT HAVE A TAGS LIST!!! I put this at the beginning of every chapter, it’s in my bio, and I’ve made multiple posts but people keep spamming me about it.  I am truly not trying to be mean, but I do my best to respond to every ask and message I get, and having to sort through a million people asking the same question is hard guys!!!.  Before, I go, one last thing: because everyone has sent me in songs that they listen to that remind them of Skyline, I compiled them into a playlist along with ones I listen to!!  Please give it a listen and try to listen in order, as the songs follow the storyline.  Link is below.  Enjoy everyone!!

{part i} {part ii} {part iii} {part iv} {part v}

Waking up the next morning was hard.  Sleep was like temporary amnesia, and when you awoke alone in bed, your hand automatically reached out for the note that Spider-Man always left before he disappeared every night.  Instead of feeling the usual smooth sheet of paper, however, you felt empty sheets that seemed colder than ever before.  It was then that the events of the previous night tumbled into your head, from your request to know Spider-Man’s identity, to him saying I love you for the first time, to you giving him up.

You groaned and rubbed your hand across your face, fatigue taking over.  More than anything, you wanted to fake an illness, stay in bed all day, and wallow in your thoughts, but you knew you had to get up. Although the breakup hurt you (did it count as a breakup if you were never really together in the first place?), you knew you made the right choice.  There was no way a relationship with a superhero would work out if the significant other didn’t know who they were; if you were to fall in love, you would need to be able to fall completely.

Bon Voyage S2 EP.6 - Hoseok & Namjoon's conversation

(re-translated by request)

Hoseok: I haven’t gone on a real trip before, not even once. The Bon Voyage trip was my first…
Namjoon: For me, the fact that we can stay together until the end of the trip… (shakes hands) Since I couldn’t stay till the end last time.
Hoseok: How was last time?
Namjoon: Last time?
Hoseok: After you left first.
Namjoon: I couldn’t go anywhere other than the convenience store, for real. And my studio. I wrote a song in tears, you know. That song was one of the only 2 songs that got confirmed among the songs I sent in one year. Among all the songs I wrote in one year.
Hoseok: Really?
Namjoon: That song was one of those 2.
Hoseok: Seems like you make quite a lot of songs.
Namjoon: No, it’s not that many, I just take a lot of time working on one.
Hoseok: Oh, really?
Namjoon: Yeah, it takes longer than you think.
Hoseok: I’m writing a song recently too…
Namjoon: You should release it, it’s time.
Hoseok: I should.

Hoseok: I always feel this but I envy you.
Namjoon: I envy you. (laughs)
Hoseok: Why do you envy me?
Namjoon: You’re always… You’re the most professional-like in our team. You’re stable and I think that’s how a celebrity should be. I like that. Suga-hyung always jokes “Let’s do a rap line concert”, you know. But it can’t come true right away, it’s hard. I don’t have that many songs. There’s only a few thing I can do. I was only able to write 1 song while in America. I always find it hard to connect the verse and the hook.
Hoseok: Yeah.
Namjoon: When I first make the beat. Suga-hyung is incredible. I feel that sometimes when I listen to ‘Dead Leaves’ or ‘Tomorrow’.
Hoseok: Right.
Namjoon: I really respect Suga-hyung for writing songs for Bangtan. When it comes to writing Bangtan songs…
Hoseok: Right, it’s hard.
Namjoon: I have always wanted to talk about this with you.

Namjoon: People say this. “Taehyung and Jimin look very close, but Hoseok and Namjoon, one is in charge of dancing and one is in charge of rapping”…
Hoseok: Actually we talked a lot more than they think.
Namjoon: No, we talked a lot from time to time.
Hoseok: We talked a lot. I always came look for you when I had a slump in music.
Namjoon: I don’t know about you but, it’s true that you play a very big role of an axle to our mood, in another direction from me. And to be honest, I think you also help fulfilling what I can’t as a leader in the team, mentally.
Hoseok: No…
Namjoon: I’m serious. I’m all about external affairs.*

(*Namjoon means that while he takes care of the more professional matters of the tean like representing them in front of the outer world, Hoseok takes care of the team’s atmosphere and mood.)

Hoseok: Hey, thank you.
Namjoon: Me too.
Hoseok: For real.
Namjoon: No. You know what I think it’s dramatic? I heard you wrote that during Bon Voyage season 1.
Hoseok: They asked in the interview, “Where do you want to go?”, I said “Me? Shouldn’t I want to go to Hawaii at least once?”. The next question was “If you were to go with the members, who do you want to go with?” and I answered, “I want to go with Rap Monster, my same-aged friend”…
Namjoon: Wow.
Hoseok: We didn’t get that kind of chance often, you know.
Namjoon: I was wrong. I shouldn’t asked Hobi to go grab a cup of beer, I should have asked to go grab a cup of peppermint tea.
Hoseok: My favorite tea?
Namjoon: Yeah, you like peppermint tea, don’t you. I can’t understand people who drink peppermint tea.

Hoseok: We actually talk a lot. We talk a lot but it’s just that my character and his character on camera don’t coincide that much and we don’t have many in common, so people might think like that, but in reality, if I were to pick whom I talk with the most, I would pick this friend here.
Namjoon: We talk about trivial stuffs and also serious stuffs, thanks to that.

How to Write Successful Dialogue

@albino-troll-ninja asked:

Got any feedback/advice/links for someone who wants to make lengthy, relatively action-less dialogues between characters more than just “‘Loren ipsum,’ he said.” “'Ipsum lorem’, she replied.” for forty paragraphs?

No problem!  I love dialogue, so I’m happy to be of assistance in this department.

Here are my personal rules of thumb:

1.  Allow the dialogue to show the character’s personality.

If you really think about your conversations, it can be telling exactly how much of someone’s personality can shine through when they speak.

Allow your character’s persona, values, and disposition to spill over when they speak, and it will make for a significantly more interesting read for you and your reader.

For example:  let’s take a look at a mundane exchange, and see how it can be spruced up by injecting it with a good dose of personality.

Exhibit A)

“How was your day, by the way?”  asked Oscar, pouring himself a drink.

“Not too bad,” replied Byron.  “Cloudy, but warm.  Not too many people.”

“That’s nice.”

Exhibit B)

“How was your day, by the way?” asked Oscar, pouring himself a drink.

“Ugh.  Not too bad,” groaned Byron, draping himself on the couch.  “Warm, but dreary.  Gray clouds as far as the eye could see.  Not anyone worth mentioning out this time of year.”  A pause.  “Well, except me, of course.”

“Hmmph,” said Oscar, glancing over his shoulder.  “If it were me, I wouldn’t want it any other way.”

Isn’t that better?  Already, the audience will feel as though they’ve gotten to know these characters.

This works for longer dialogue, too:  allow the character’s personal beliefs, life philosophy, and generally disposition to dictate how they talk, and your readers will thank you.

Of course, this example is also good for giving the reader a general sense of what the characters’ relationship is like.  Which brings me to my next point:

2.  Allow the dialogue to show the character’s relationship.

Everyone is a slightly different person depending on who they’re around.  Dynamic is an important thing to master, and when you nail it between two characters, sparks can fly.

Work out which character assumes more of the Straight Man role, and which is quicker to go for lowbrow humor.  Think of who’s the more analytical of the two and who’s the more impulse driven.  Who would be the “bad cop” if the situation called for it.

Then, allow for this to show in your dialogue, and it will immediately become infinitely more entertaining.

Example:

“Alright,” said Fogg, examining the map before him.  “Thus far, we’ve worked out how we’re going to get in through the ventilation system, and meet up in the office above the volt.  Then, we’re cleared to start drilling.”

Passepartout grinned.  “That’s what she said.”

“Oh, for the love of God – REALLY, Jean.  Really!?  We are PLANNING a goddamn bank robbery!”

Some more questions about dynamic to ask yourself before writing dialogue:

  • Who is more likely to talk and who is more likely to listen?
  • Who would talk with their mouth full of food and who would politely wait to swallow?
  • Is their relationship fraternal/sororal?  If so, who would be the “little sibling?”
  • Is one of them a bit of a mother/father figure to the other?
  • Who more frequently gets irritated with who?
  • Who has the more understated sense of humor?  Who’s a bit more juvenile?
  • Who’s better educated?  Does it show when they speak?
  • Who’s a bit more pretentious/full of themselves?
  • Who interrupts more?
  • Who swears more?

This can also be a valuable tool to cluing your reader in on who the characters are as people:

3.  Think about what this dialogue can tell the reader.

It’s better to fill the reader in more gradually than to waist your valuable first chapter on needless exposition, and dialogue is a great way to do it.

Think about what your characters are saying, and think about ways in which you can “sneak in” details about their past, their families, and where they came from into the discussion.

For example, you could say:

Tuckerfield was a happy-go-lucky Southern guy with domineering parents,

and bore everyone to death.

Or you could have him say:

“Sheesh.  All this sneakin’ around in the woods late at night reminds me of being back in Kansas.  Good times, man, good times.”  There was a pause, before he added,  “‘Course, it wasn’t nearly so fun when I came home late for curfew and had to sleep on the front step, but y’know.  Life happens.”

Isn’t that much better than the omnipresent monotone?

Dialogue is also a great way to fill in potential plot holes early on, by having your characters talk them out and explain them.

Moreover, dialogue can also be used to foreshadow, offer relevant hints about the climax, or provide information necessary for the resolution.

So use it wisely!

4.  Sprinkle in mini-actions throughout.

Even in actionless dialogue, no one actually does nothing.  In my case, for example, I stim a lot.  I play with my hair.  I play with eating utensils.  It’s probably very annoying for those around me, but you get the point.

Less fidget-y folks might not do this as much, but they rarely sit totally still during conversations, either.  So occasionally add in these mini-actions, and it will make your characters feel a bit less like disembodied voices or floating heads.

For instance:

Jo leaned back in her chair rolling her stiff neck from sitting still for so long.  “…So the way I see it,” she continued.  “Even if Pheris Beuller’s Day Off didn’t take place in Cameron’s imagination, Pheris was clearly a sociopath whose behavior shouldn’t be glamorized.”

“Ha.  As if.”  Avery paused to sip her root beer.  “Pheris,” she began, raising an index finger.  “Was clearly emblematic of counterculturist movements such as the Beat Generation, and his disregard for the capitalistic dogmas imposed upon younger generations is something to be admired.”

“For Christ’s sake, will you two lighten up?”  scoffed Leo, counting out bills for the pizza.  “We were talking about which movie we wanted to watch tonight.  Jesus.”

5.  Remember how people actually speak.

In real life conversations, people don’t speak in paragraphs.  Alright, some people might, and this can actually be interesting as the personality aspect of a certain type of character.

But generally speaking, people don’t speak in paragraphs, or as though they’re writing thought-out prose or letters.

In real conversations, people stutter.  They laugh at their own jokes, repeat words or phrases, and lose their train of thought.

Naturally, you don’t have to illustrate in your writing exactly how chaotic and mundane human speech can be, as writing would be pretty boring in general if it was strictly limited to miming reality.  But it’s good to keep in mind that your characters are talking, not writing in purple prose.

Exhibit A:

“When I was a young boy, my mother and I had a most tumultuous relationship,” said Marcus.  “She saw me as a hallmark of her past failures, and took every opportunity to remind me as such.”

Exhibit B:

“My mom, when I was kid, we had what you’d call a sort of tumultuous relationship,” said Marcus.  “Nothing I ever did was right for her.  She, uh – I think she saw me as sort of a hallmark of her past failures.  Took every opportunity to remind me of that.”

Which of these is more organic, more easy to visualize, and more telling of character?  Unless the point of this dialogue is to illustrate that Marcus is a gentleman crook of some kind with pristine speaking mannerisms, I’m going to say the latter.

Best of luck, I hope this helps, and happy writing!  <3

First Tom Holland Blurb I’ve written so there’s more where this came from. You guys can send in requests :’)

Being able to call Tom your boyfriend, let alone the love of your life made you beyond happy. Over the course of your relationship, you had come to learn of the several types of cuddly Tom, each one better than before.

Sleepy Cuddles

  • The two of you would be sitting at a quiet airport lounge, Tom significantly more exhausted than you because he had just finished up his press tour.
  • “I’m fucking knackered,” he would say letting out a big yawn. “Sleep for a bit, love. I’ll wake you up when it’s time for our flight.“
  • You’d be sitting with your back pressed against the armrest of the chair, legs bent over Tom’s thighs when he’d slowly start to lean on your chest, wrapping both his arms around you and snuggling into you.Your hands would automatically tangle themselves in his hair because you knew he loved it when people played with his hair, especially if that person was you.
  • “Comfy enough for you, sweet?” You’d smile, only being able to elicit a small hum of approval from Tom as he snuggled deeper into your chest.
  • With what ever little energy he has left, Tom would grab your free hand, bringing the back of it to his lips and pressing a soft kiss to it, “love you darlin’”

Summary: Peter Parker goes on a mission to bring back the Winter Solider, but ends up getting beat up really badly. As he’s passing out he calls out for his girlfriend, asking Steve to call her. Everyone is surprised since they had no idea Peter was dating anyone. Fluff, teasing and a little revenge ensues :)
Not really a request…I found this post and was just so inspired!
Warnings: violence, mention of blood, swearing…and a little long. Sorry not sorry lol

It all started with that damn red notebook.

“We should’ve destroyed it.” Steve said, barely able to look up from the table top.
“You should’ve kept Bucky asleep in Wakanda.” Tony said roughly, spitting out Bucky’s name. He may have forgiven Steve for their fight during the Accords, but he was far from forgiving Bucky for killing his parents.
“We should’ve known it wouldn’t be safe with SHIELD. Those guys are always having their headquarters either broken into or blown up.” Sam shot back, trying to keep the peace but catering to everyone’s shared distaste for the spy organization.

Smells like teen primadonna spirit.

Bit of background. My little brother was in a high school band, and although I was never part of it, I used to drive them around to gigs and occasionally to the studio. I could drive, and if I helped my little brother out, it meant I got to borrow our Mother’s car for a while, so it wasn’t entirely altruistic.

As well as lil bro (guitar), there was also Kev (vocals), Bob (guitar) and Dave (drums).

This was in the late ‘90s, I was about 19-20 during these events, Lil’ Bro is 2 years younger than me. They were a rock/grunge band. Kev was very much the ringleader. His Dad worked for a local radio station at a town about 100 miles away, and Kev would often insist on making decisions for the band because his Dad’s background trumped everything. His Dad was a producer.
Mostly all happy times, although Kev would often pick on Dave, and drummers in general. “What do you call a guy who hangs out with musicians? A drummer.” Etc.
