lulluluvskullz  asked:

do you have any tips for palettes? i tried twice and they turned out like absolute shit :///

I usually just eyeball the colors when I draw but this site is very helpful when it comes to choosing colors!!

I just sorta summarized it into pictures so you don’t have to go back and forth but i didn’t put the in depth meaning behind it so i still recommend checking the site out!!:

I’m only a self taught artist, no school or professional background so a huge disclaimer

I’m pretty sure most people knows the basics like neutral, primary, secondary and tertiary as well as subtractive primary colors (CMK) so I’ll skip through that along with the cold and warm colors:

Volume and Saturation plays a big role on making palettes. It plays the part of the appeal and what colors to choose, palettes that are too saturated or high on contrast are quite painful to look at (some artist make it work by balancing it out so they still maintain the bright colors) and unsaturated, low on contrast palettes are dull to look at and not very a appealing.

Tints, Shades, and Tones are sub terms you can use, this chart is to help you differentiate them

Now the fun part!!

Color harmonies are basically techniques for choosing colors. Since SAI’s color wheel is kinda a disaster I recommend just looking up a color wheel on google or you can use this one here.

You can pick any of the techniques there (heres a more in depth explanation of each technique) and just start experimenting with them! Here’s some tips to get you started:

  • Don’t take the techniques literally!! You can toggle your colors all around, just use it as a base
  • Saturated colors =/= good color scheme balance it out!
  • Contrast is your pal remember that but too much of it can hurt your eyes :(
  • I usually use a maximum of 5 [or 6] colors and a minimum of 3 for making palettes. 4 is usually the most common one used
  • I pick 1-2 very saturated colors and the rest are up to the mixing
  • HAVE FUN!!

Here are some palettes I made using each techniques:

Hope this helps!!

Story 04 by @nerdforestgirl

Amy looked over at her husband who was sitting in her lab snacking on the food he brought for her while he watched her work. Sheldon didn’t mind watching her work for a while. He always thought she was cute in her lab coat, and seeing that sweater covered baby bump sticking out of it just put her on the next level. Though he knew she needed to sit and eat this thoughtfully researched and prepared meal.

“You need to rest more,” he demanded.

“You aren’t my doctor, and I want to get this finished before I stop to eat,” Amy snapped. She never knew if it was her pregnancy hormones that made her frustrated by Sheldon’s behavior or if it was just his tendency to be overbearing and annoying. Ether way, her day would be a lot easier if he would just go back to his office for a while.

Sheldon just shook his head and took another bite out of the carrot he was snacking on. It was hard for him to stay away from Amy for long when she was carrying his child. He was well aware that he was driving her up the wall by checking in a few times a day, but he always felt better when he knew how she was. Since it was just a walk across campus to visit her, he often found it hard to resist visiting her. So, here he was, watching as she lovingly prepared samples of brain tissue to inspect under her microscope.

That was until she set down the slide and put her hand to her belly and grimaced. Sheldon was up and to her in seconds. He was guiding her to a stool to sit down.

“It’s fine. She’s just kicking,” Amy assured him as she rubbed the spot that had been abused by her daughter. This would only spur him on to hang around her lab more, so she wanted to make sure he knew everything was fine.

“She’s kicking?” Sheldon asked in wonder. It was at that moment that Amy realized that Sheldon had never felt their child’s little kicks. She was used to the little movements that had felt more like popcorn popping than actual kicks, but over the last couple days her little girl had taken to real kicks. They just happened at work or after Sheldon was already asleep. It wasn’t like she was keeping it from him. She took his hand and put it on her belly right where their daughter was kicking her still.

“Wow,” Sheldon muttered. His eyes went wide as he left his hand there and felt the tiny movements under it. They stopped after a moment, and when Amy looked into his eyes they were shiny with tears. He got on his knees in front of Amy to speak right to their child.

“Hello,” he said clearly. “It’s me. It’s Daddy. I can’t wait to meet you.”

Thanks for sending me this short fic months ago! I hope you like my final version of your idea!

Check her stories on tumblr and fanfiction dot net /  archiveofourown. You REALLY need to read them. I love all of them. Sweet and fluff Shamy? go to her. I’m also a big fan of Raj/Lincoln stories and other pairings. Thanks for all the work!!

Soon the rest of stories! I need to work on 05 / 06 / 07 and I will finish all the stories!

I made this for this passed Scary Games Friday GTLive stream! A lot of people seemed to like it, but I hope that Matt and Steph get to see it at some point just because I love their entertainment. They bring me the smiles :-)

Memoryhead - one of the most mysterious amalgamates found in True Lab. So mysterious it made me wonder of it’s origins, and soo…

Theory time!

I bet I am not the only one who noticed that Memoryhead looks like bunch of skulls creating one bigger skull. The aesthetics of eyes (black eye sockets with pin sized lights), faces and teeth greatly resembles those of skeleton brothers.

In this case are those skeletons too? We don’t see any other through a gameplay beside brothers and Gaster - if Gaster is a skeleton that is. Shouldn’t there be more of them? This certain lack of other skeletal representatives (beside bros who just happened to appear in Snowdin one day) made me wonder if Memoryhead isn’t the reason why we don’t see them. Maybe it’s simply made from almost every skeleton that survived underground.

So there are few options how skeletons ended up in True Lab:

  1. If Gaster was experimenting on skeletons those could be his first failed attempts to create them or using them as test subjects. Sans could be the first one that didn’t turned out bad.
  2. They were skeletons working there, just like Sans.
  3. Maybe they had fallen and since they were just there in the lab they could be the first experimental patients whatever they were failed experiments or workers or civilians

This could be the reason why we have seen only Sans and Papyrus and why nobody have seen other skeletons or even mention them. They are all stuck in Lab and for some reason, whatever happened Sans and Papyrus are the only ones that survived the fate of their brothers.

Interestingly they speak in code similarly to Gaster and they an be heard only through phone. What’s more, their attacks look like Gaster’s (or skeletons) faces. Are they remembering how he looked? It is after all a MEMORYhead, it is possible it’s channelling their experience to fight.

I can’t English.

Possible look of workers/experiments/civilians before melting into amalgamate. Why there is a bird skeleton? The question should be - why not?

ShAmy : The “Best OTP ever” Progression

Sheldon: (Knock, knock, knock) Amy? (Knock, knock, knock) Amy? (Knock, knock, knock) Amy?

Amy: What do you want?

Sheldon: I was kind of hoping I could continue vacationing in your laboratory. After all, I did book the whole week.

Amy: Do you honestly think you can just waltz back in here after the way you behaved yesterday?

Sheldon: I was not myself. I had lost a lot of thumb blood.

Amy: That’s not an apology.

Sheldon: That is your opinion.

Amy: I want a real apology.

Sheldon: I’m sorry that you weren’t able to…

Amy: No.

Sheldon: That my genius…

Amy: No.

Sheldon: That the soap was…

Amy: Sheldon.

Sheldon: Fine. Sorry.

Amy: You’re forgiven. Now, if you want to stay, get started on those beakers. They’re still dirty from yesterday.

Sheldon: Next year I’m going to Epcot.

S5 E16 – The Vacation Solution

The memoryheads from the True Lab are not amalgamates, but...

So, the amalgamates. Monsters melted together forming some sort of abominations who are sure to give people nightmares the first time through. The first one we meet upon entering the True Lab is the one we’re gonna talk about here.

The memoryheads.

Now, why them? Well.. Because no matter how I try to look at them, I can’t see them as amalgamates.

When seeing an amalgamate, the first question you tend to ask yourself is “what monsters are they made of?” as this will be needed to know how to spare them.

Now, I must ask you this: What monster are the memoryheads made out of? Because, sure, looking at them, we can kind of … See some faces melted together, and things melted together does sounds like an amalgamate but… That’s the only thing they have in common.

Also pay attention to how they are spared: You need to use your cell, and then refuse to join them. Isn’t that strange? Usually, to spare amalgamates, you have to do actions that remind them of who they were before. But here? It is actions that we never had to do before.

I would also like to point out what happens if you try to attack them:

First of all, that’s creepy. Second of all, no monster ever does that. They are the only ones who do.

When hitting other amalgamates, you tend to miss. But not… Like this. Not with creepy messages appearing in red.

The messages are the following, by the way:

  • Don’t worry about it.
  • Absorbed
  • I’m lovin’ it.
  • But it didn’t work.
  • nope
  • MISS

It’s strange, it’s creepy, and it’s something never seen before, and that never repeats in the future.

It is also interesting to point out that in the very end of the True Lab, you are surrounded by the amalgamates encountered before. Counting the memoryheads, you encounter 5 enemies in the True Lab, however…

Only 4 amalgamates are present on this cutscene.

The memoryheads are also never seen outside of the one battle we have against them, while we do meet every amalgamate in the different zones, spending time with their loved ones when going through the underground again after finishing the true lab.

So, the question is: Who are the memoryheads?

The answer is simple: They are parts of Gaster.

Just a friendly reminder...

…that Sieglinde’s “Spider Legs” (in Black Butler) are based on the numerous mobility mechs that Dr. Andonuts invents for King Porky (in the Mother series).

If anything happens to that contraption she uses now, or if Sieglinde needs more help getting around, then you can expect some new, more advanced version of the mobility mech to show up in the manga….

I have a few theories about Carlos's many lab coats.

Cecil always says Carlos is in a different lab coat for every occasion. I have a few theoroes, but I don’t know which I like better.
1. Carlos actually owns a fuck ton of lab coats for every occasion
2. Carlos always wears the same lab coat an Cecil just thinks they’re all different
3. Carlos just wears regular coats for different occasions but because he’s a scientist Cecil thinks they’re all lab coats

“What happened to your arm?” A theory on the computer lab scene

•Connor didn’t mean to push Evan. He was just angry that he was already being made fun of his first day of his senior year. And since the kid who made fun of him already left, he had to get his anger out on someone. But the second after he pushed Evan down, he regretted it. Evan didn’t even do anything wrong.

•Connor freaked out a little inside when he saw Evan come through the computer lab. He ignored him for a while, but soon Evan began to quietly talk to himself. It was hard to ignore someone talking to themselves, even when Connor couldn’t hear what Evan was saying.

•Connor finally noticed the broken arm and started panicking a bit because he can’t remember for the life of him if it was like that before? What if he did that to him? He hadn’t meant to really hurt him, he just lost control a bit?? Why does this always happen??

•Connor was so anxious to go talk to Evan because a) he doesn’t want to confirm his fear that he did seriously hurt him, b) even if he didn’t, what if something went wrong and he freaked out again and ruined everything, and c) why would Evan even want to see him again, after the last time they’d met

•Connor has to take forever to build up the confidence and approach Evan to ask about his arm. In the mean time, he prints out his paper and he realized there was a paper there that Evan must have printed out too. He decided to take it to him as an apology.

•Connor was way nervous while asking Evan about his broken arm, and he had to hide his relief when Evan explained it wasn’t him. So he covered up by telling Evan how much that sucked. And then when Evan seemed so chill about it, a thought came to him. Friend?

•Connor asked Evan if he could sign his cast, seeing that no one else had. It didn’t really surprise Connor, knowing Evan didn’t really have friends, like himself.

•Connor signed it, not really caring that it was huge. Suddenly, he felt protective of Evan. And he didn’t want anyone else to sign his cast. He wanted to be the only one. The only friend.

•Connor handed the sharpie back to Evan, telling him they could pretend they had a friend. Maybe that would get into Evans mind that he wanted to be real friends?

•Connor just had to see his sisters name on the paper. He just had to freak out. After he freaked out once again and stormed off, he regretted it immediately.

•Connor blamed himself for everything. He messed the only chance of friendship he had. He read Evans letter over and over again, trying to figure a way out of the hole he dug. But he couldn’t find one. There seemed to be no way out.

ShAmy : The “Best OTP ever” Progression

Sheldon: This is preposterous. I think you’re giving me these tasks because you’re afraid if you give me anything meaningful to do, I’ll show you up.

Amy: Really? Is that what you think?

Sheldon: Yes, that’s what I think. And I’m super smart, so it’s probably true.

Amy: Hey, I’ve been training in the field of neurobiology for 12 years. You’ve been here for three hours, and you’ve spent one of them in the bathroom.

Sheldon: I’m sorry. It takes me a while to get things going on in an unfamiliar toilet.

Amy: Sheldon, I’ve given you the simplest things to do, and you haven’t done one of them right.

Sheldon: Maybe that’s because I’m not being challenged. It’s the same reason Einstein failed math.

Amy: Maybe the math was too bubbly for him.

Sheldon: You think you’re doing science by cutting up that brain? They could do the same thing at any Quiznos. And they’d offer to toast it for me, too.

Amy: Okay, smart guy. I’m about to remove the locus coeruleus, which is incredibly delicate work. Have at it.

Sheldon: All right. I’m no stranger to a little gray matter. Locus coeruleus. Locus coeruleus.

Amy: You’re getting warmer, it is, indeed, in the brain. Hope your hands are steady. It’s the width of a single hair. But this is just biology, so I’m sure it’s no problem for a genius like you.

Sheldon: It’s not. I’ll have you know, in the field of physics, we work with particles so small, they make fat jokes about the locus coeruleus, i.e., when your locus coeruleus sits around the house, it sits around the house.

Amy: Oh, are we nervous, Dr. Cooper?

Sheldon: No. What you see is a man trembling with confidence. Does a locus coeruleus normally bleed that much?

Amy: No. But your thumb does.

Sheldon: Oh, dear. (Faints)

Amy: Yeah, you’re a biologist.

Gaster theory

okay guys here’s another round of vague theories for y’all

This one’s about GASTER.

We don’t see him but ONCE in the game, if we’re lucky/hack. But what if that’s not the case?

I think we’ve seen him more than once. Somewhere we continuously overlook in the true lab.

That’s right. I’m talking about the spoon.

It’s even roughly the same shape, if you took off his cloak. The hands are round, the head’s an oval, he’s tall…the lack scars or cracks could very well be excused by the position he’s facing.

Here’s a picture of the confirmed Gaster, as a comparison reference.

Now this is where it gets odd. We see the spoon only in the true lab when you decide to fall asleep on the bed. They fade in, tuck you in, and fade out. The ONLY other monsters who teleports/fades in the overworld are Gaster and his followers. Even the Amalgamates distort and form their way to attack, this one only fades.

You see them again, or rather, bump into them again in the refrigerator room. The text you read, “Something is there. Something in a shape of a man” The spoon is roughly man-shaped. And he disappears once you start the fan and clear out the frost from the room.

You see them AGAIN in the bathroom, waving his arm around from behind the shower curtain. And once more, he’s gone once you check on him. How could he had left so easily? Either he teleported, or perhaps he went through the drain?

The drain is another important part. Who is the only other monster coming from a drain? Memory Heads. THAT is a theory made by someone else, but it roughly states that the Memory Heads are pieces of Gaster himself.

Why would he be in the True Lab, though? Simple. The Gaster Followers explained that he had fallen and disappeared during a failed experiment. They never said what experiment or where. ASGORE instructed Alphys to EXPERIMENT on all the monsters who had “FALLEN DOWN” to see if they were revivable, and it FAILED. The possibility of him being an amalgamate is strong.

Now, you might be wondering why he’s that shaped, or why he isn’t wearing his black mass of cloak. Well…I am not sure.

Perhaps others could add onto this. But for now,
