Back in 2013 I drew Katniss Everdeen and at that point it was the best drawing I had ever made. Now, 4 years later, I wanted to see how much I improved myself. The left one is the drawing from 2013 and the right one is from now.
Lunafreya Nox Fleuret | District 4 | Female Tribute |
Lunafreya Nox Fleuret is one of the two children of District 4’s most valuable healer and physician. Being in such close relation with a healer has given Lunafreya the opportunity to learn healing methods of her own. She was set on a path to take over her mother’s job when her mother grew too old to continue. She was eager to help those in her district with the common injuries they acquired.
Cuts from fish hooks, ear infections, even bites from lethal animals such as a shark.
Lunafreya only has one older sibling. One she hardly got to know. Ravus Nox Fleuret was taken away from District 4 as a young child. Her family assumed him dead… until they found out he would represent District 2 in this year’s annual Hunger Games…
While Lunafreya represented District 4.
As District 2 is labeled as a “Career District,” Lunafreya feared that her brother would not spare her. Perhaps if she was lucky, he would grant her a fast death.
Lunafreya’s first concern in the Hunge Games would be food and water. Weaponry was the last of her worries. If she wanted to survive, she needed the necessities. She would flee from the bloodbath at the Cornucopia.
Her weapon of choice is a trident; the most commonly used weapon by District 4 tributes. She was only taught briefly by her father on how to wield such a weapon… before he died while on a voyage out to sea. Though, she knew her healing abilities would come in handy in the arena… she knew she would be a valuable ally to any who wished to team up with her.
Noctis was an easy ally.
Both District 4 citizens have been friends since childhood. Both Luna and Noctis were arranged to be married once they came of age… safe from the lottery of the Hunger Games.
Fate was not as kind.
Noctis Lucis Caelum | District 4 | Male Tribute |
Noctis Lucis Caelum was well known throughout all of District 4. As son of the Mayor, many recognized his face and name as if it were second nature. He lives a fairly luxurious life in District 4… compared to the many other residents.
Though they were well fed, the Caelum family still trudged through their tragedies. Noctis was left injuries and without a mother after an unfortunate boating accident when he was only at the young age of eight. He had become strongly acquainted with the Nox Fleuret family during the time he spent disabled in a wheelchair. The raven haired boy and the girl with golden locks became fast friends. He even formed a small, secret crush on the Lunafreya girl.
For reasons unknown to him, his father announced that once he and Lunafreya came of age… they would be married.
Each and every year, Noctis’s name was only entered once into the lottery pool. Yet, this year the odds were not in his favor. He would be the male tribute for District 4 alongside the female tribute. His fiancé; Lunafreya Nox Fleauret.
Only one would be allowed to survive.
Noctis wanted it to be Luna… but he would fight until the very end. Until he and Lunafreya were the only ones that remained.
Noctis was well trained by his father; a previous Hunger Games victor. Noctis’s weapon of choice would be a basic sword. It was his only chance at winning.
After long nights of preparation and internal debates, Noctis decided to partake in the bloodbath in the Cornucopia. He needed a sword.
He would get one.
One way or another.
He only allowed himself to trust one person. Lunafreya Nox Fleuret; The one he would help win.
It had been the worst day of your life, and you were barely holding it together. Walking down the hall, you looked up and met Haymitch’s eyes, the only one who really understood what was going on inside your head. Embracing you, he reassured you that everything was going to be okay.
Strong, daring, courageous, and lethal are only a few words used to describe the powerful and feared Aranea Highwind. She has been trained since birth to participate and win the Hunger Games. After her life of a victor would settle into boredom, only then would she become the toughest Peacekeeper Panem had to offer… just like her father.
Her father obtained only the best trainers and weaponry for his daughter. She deserved the riches and glory that came with winning the Hunger Games. Day in and day out Aranea trained for battle… pushing herself to her new set limits each and every day.
She became feared amongst all the children and potential participants of the Hunger Games. If she was chosen, her fellow District 2 competitor would not be spared. She didn’t need an ally. Her only ally would be her weapon in the arena.
Though Aranea was not picked in the reaping lottery, she volunteered as tribute. Though her reputation terrified most, she earned wild cheers the moment she stood up on stage. There was no doubt in anyone’s mind that a District 2 member would be winning the Games this year.
Though the competition looked promising, Aranea still held herself high, her confidence unwavering.
She would most definitely take part in the bloodbath that took place at the Cornucopia at the start of the Game. Many of the tributes tried to steer clear of Aranea, but she sought her prey out. She would satiate her bloodlust early on. She only needed to find a javelin lance; her weapon of choice.
She would destroy the competition one by one.
Ravus Nox Fleuret | District 2 | Male Tribute |
Originally from District 4, Ravus was taken to District 2 by Peacekeepers when he was only but a child. It was the Peacekeeper’s ways of punishing Sylva (his mother) for disobeying specific orders.
She saved a life when she was ordered to let someone die by the Capitol…
Ravus was taken in return. He thought we was going to be killed by his captors, but they only took his left arm as a trophy. His life was spared. The Peacekeepers then transported him to a new district. District 2. He had to learn a new way of life.
The people of District 2 were warriors at heart and Ravus was eager to fit in. How could he be a warrior with only one arm remaining?
He became a Blacksmith’s apprentice. He built a powerful prosthetic arm, increasing his strength tenfold. He was prepared to protect himself. Whether it be in the Hunger Games or against Peacekeepers that threatened to take more from him.
He knew his strength would be tested the moment his name was drawn during the Reaping. He was surprised no one volunteered for him… considering that is how most Reapings go in the Career Districts. His fellow tribute and competitor in District 2 would be Aranea Highwind; daughter of the toughest Peacekeeper in all of Panem. He knew their mutuality of living in District 2 would not spare him from her swift, well trained movements. He would have to rely on his strength if he wanted to defeat her.
His heart stopped when he discovered his long lost sister would also be participating in this year’s Games. It’s not fair, he thought. He had to win. He had to win to show the Capitol what happens when you mess with families for too long.
That ideology quickly changed.
He would give up that opportunity to see his sister win.
He would flee the bloodbath in order to stay alive long enough to assist Luna. Each and every kill he earned was for her and her alone. He completed his kills with his bare hands, only using his environment as his weapon. Rocks, rough jagged surfaces, trees, water… he would use it to his advantage to take down his opponents. He would not die by the hand of another. If it came down to a battle Ravus could not win, he would take his life by swallowing lethal Nightlock berries. He wouldn’t be defeated by anyone but himself.
