IF ONE MORE PERSON CALLS ROWAN ABUSIVE

I WILL LOSE MY MIND OKAY THE MAN IS A BEAUTIFUL CINNAMON ROLL AND YES HE WAS CRUEL AT FIRST WHEN HE WAS IN THE DEPTHS OF HIS GRIEF AND CHAINED TO MAEVE AND DIDN’T GIVE A CRAP ABOUT THIS SPOILED LITTLE GIRL HE WAS BEING FORCED TO TRAIN

IN CONCLUSION I DARE YOU TO FIND ANYTHING AFTER THE FIRST HALF OR SO OF HOF THAT SHOWS ROWAN BEING EVEN VAGUELY ABUSIVE
I
DARE
YOU

(Note: I am not calling Chaol abusive either. I’m just pointing out he was cruel to her on occasion as well. I am calling Arobynn abusive though. That tool.)
Secrets and More Secrets

Summary: What if Lucas had one more index card when he talked to Riley and Maya at the bay window, but he was too scared to read what he had written. And, what happens when someone accidentally sees it? Will it change anything, or will everything stay the same?

Word Count: 1, 881

Lucas had stayed up all night writing exactly what he was going to say on a set of index cards, and he’ll admit it sounded ridiculous as he read over it. He still couldn’t fathom how he was in this situation because he knew how he felt, but he couldn’t face them with no map of what to say, especially, not in the presence of her.

Whenever Lucas Friar was around Riley Matthews, he sometimes got a little nervous. She was the only person that caused his heart to fasten, that caused the flutter in his stomach, that made him stop in his track at the sight of her. So, he couldn’t understand how he was in this mess because he thought he made it as clear as day who his feelings are for…but apparently not.

Which led to the situation that he is in now—in Riley’s room, with her and Maya, reading the index card that he had written the night before. He was able to predict what was going to be said between the girls making his index cards fit in perfectly.

When Lucas has one more card left, he returns to his spot in between the girls; however, what neither one of the girls knew was that Lucas had one more card hidden away in his pocket. He wasn’t sure why he had it tucked away, but it was a last minute thought before he climbed through the bay window.

But, after he gets done reading what the girls thought was his last card, the three of them sit there in an awkward silence. He thinks about pulling out the card from his pocket, but with the silence that fills the air, he doesn’t think it’s the right time. So, the three of them sit there until Mr. Matthews yells it’s time for school.

Riarkle Drabble #20

This drabble was requested by thypoqueen. The prompt is from this post, number 63: “Stop running from this. I know I’m not the only one who feels it.”

It had always been the small things.

They started slow. A shared bag of animal crackers over snack time. Collaborating on a playdoh sculpture together in first grade. Teaching him to use the monkey bars and attempting to hold his legs so he could make it over. He never did but she didn’t laugh no matter how hard everyone else did. He figures he began to love her then.

Then it shifted. Her family embraced him. And his parents embraced her, even though they were barely home. He slept over her house when things got bad, and in return, she held him close, and made sure he wasn’t breaking. Even if her heart was when she saw him that way.

She introduced him to Maya and for the first time had to share the boy she helped on the playground. They were the three musketeers. Attached at the hip and always together. And yes, things had changed. But Riley knew that they changed for the better (even though she still wished that  it was just her and Farkle).

And they stayed like that. Until Lucas came around and he rocked their whole world. She fell in love fast and blind. Her vision and mind clouded by the shining halo around Lucas’ head. Her friends cast aside until she snapped out of it. Farkle pushed to the wayside supporting her from the sidelines.

He was catapulted into darkness when the bullying started. And Riley became the light that found him and pulled him out. As she held his hand and pulled him close like she had when they were little, he saw her blinded mind begin to clear. He saw the way she looked at him change and he saw the way she blushed when he caught her staring too long. He saw her drift away from Lucas just the tiniest bit and he felt the air shift, even if it wasn’t much.

When it came to the Buggy Awards, his first choice was Riley. But then he saw Maya and he couldn’t decide. They were his loves, he couldn’t choose one over the other. But then Riley fought Maya with a confidence he had never seen, with a fire in her eyes that was so unknown to Farkle that he felt this warmness he had forgotten about. And when he lost but they held on, he felt like he had won anyway.

It was after they had entered high school that things changed a little quicker. She and Maya met Farkle and Lucas on the way to school, and instead of walking with Lucas, she excitedly fell back in line with Farkle, talking excitedly and nudging him with her shoulder when a silence came over them.

Without saying a word, Riley would lay half of her cookie on Farkle’s sandwich, not even making eye contact, but smiling when she saw him eat it out of the corner of her eye. Together they would meet in the library, reading their respective books and kicking each other under the table, trying not to smirk when the other would concede.

They would stay up all night, trying to beat the other on who would know the most about a subject, eventually moving to the couch to watch movies like they did when they were younger. When Riley got sick, Farkle stayed with her, reading until she fell asleep and bringing her soup and tea when she needed it.

Without warning, things had moved back to the way they were before Lucas had came along, if not, they had become even better. They let their stares linger a little longer. Let their touches between them be a little more meaningful. They let themselves become vulnerable in a way that hadn’t been before, with a confidence that was practically unknown.

But when they realized what was happening, all that froze. When they realized they weren’t—couldn’t be just friends, everything came to a stop. Riley couldn’t just have Farkle as one of her best friends, she needed them to be more and Farkle needed the same thing. But she was scared and ran away with a regret that she could never forgive. Until Farkle had helped her.

“Stop running from this. I’m not the only one who feels it.”

“And I know I’m not the only one shaking from fear.”

“But you feel this, whatever we are now, you know that it’s all or nothing. I choose all, Riley.”

“I’m scared.”

“I know.”

“What if I lose you?”

“What if you don’t?”

“I’m all in, Riley.”

“Me too.”

It had always been the small things. And the small things added up.

Ghost Ship - Pirate Luke AU

Day 4: Halloween AU Countdown

(A/N: OKAY, so technically yesterday was day four, and quite frankly, I would have posted this then, but I fell asleep with my laptop open in the midde of trying to fucking edit this piece of garbage, but yeah okay, please enjoy. Go read Rhine’s story from day 3, and look out for day 5′s post on her blog tonight!)

They said he didn’t exist. “The Opera” didn’t exist. The sails of black and white that every peasant, pirate, and prince feared more than death itself. It was only an old wives tale. A story to get the kids to sleep at night.

My father would tell me stories of him when I was a child. Of the phantom and his ship, and the men he slaughtered because he could. He knew no mercy. He knew no love.

Once, long ago, his name was Lucas. A mere peasant boy with no money, and no one who cared. He worked his way up the food chain from pick pocket, to porter, to pirate, and soon enough there was no stopping him. But that was a different time. A time where he remembered what it was like to starve on the streets, and to spend evenings in the tavern with the boys, or have hoop rolling races with the children in the orphanage. He remembered what it was like to be human. What it was like to feel, and he was no man of malice. The treasures he earned, the money he stole, he used to feed the children of his hometown. He would give it to the orphanage, and build shelters for the homeless, because he remembered. Somewhere along the way, I guess he forgot.

It was the night of my twelfth birthday.  Everyone was asleep, as I probably should have been, but I couldn’t bring myself to close my eyes. There had never been a night where the moon was brighter, or the ocean stiller, and maybe that’s why it happened. Maybe it was the night that lured him out, but without any warning, there he was. The black and white sails  of “The Opera” mere feet from our ship, and the man whose glare made gods cower.

But he didn’t say anything. All he did was was look, and even as a child I knew he was the most  beautiful man I would ever see. He was dangerous, but he was beautiful, and I was frozen so I simply waved at him. All he did was look at me, and walk away. I had expected an attack or a siege, but neither of those things happened. All he did was sail by on his ghost ship, and disappear into the pitch of night.

It was years before I saw “The Opera” again, and even longer before I saw its captain, but I knew I was never far from mind. I don’t know exactly how it happened, but something changed that night when our paths first crossed. Captain Lucas never left my mind and quite frankly I don’t think I left his. What I think he saw in me was significant potential, and as the years went by, his desire to have me join his ship became more evident.

No one knew about the Captain and I. No one knew about his silent ship, and how he would dock beside us at night to leave me necklaces, and bracelets, and books. They started off as birthday gifts. The locket on my thirteenth, the anklet on the fourteenth, the notebooks and quills and inks the fifteenth.

And all of a sudden it was almost as if they were arriving every six months, three months, one month, all left neatly on my nightstand with a note signed, “Phantom.” He never came when I tried to stay awake and wait for him. I had tried so many times, but the night of my eighteenth birthday I swore would be the last.

That was when it happened. When in the dead of night a ship docked by our side, and aboard came the phantom Captain Lucas himself. And he looked cold. He looked tired and his glare was unfaltering, but I knew he would never harm me. And step, by step, the man I had dreamed of for years came closer and closer until we stood chest to chest.

He looked at me for a moment, before taking a piece of my hair and twirling it around his fingers, “It’s time, little bird.”

The Riley Diaries Pt18

AU: Riley Matthews is a regular teen, until one day,she is not. Can moving away erase your past? Can you ever move on if you don’t actually accept it? Riley Matthews was a regular teen, until one day,she wasn’t.

A/N: Looks like 2017 has some inspiration for me haha I am so so sorry I haven’t been able to update the story in so long but the ending of 2016 was a nightmare. I want to thank you all for the feedback on “The Girl in the Mirror”, I promise I will start working on the story as soon as I am finished with this one. I intend on writing one more part and maybe the last one will be just Riley’s last diary entry, but I haven’t decided yet. Anyway, I really hope you like this chapter and thank you all for being so patient - I hope you haven’t lost interest in the story.
Enjoy xo

________________________________________________________

“I can’t believe you’re going to miss your prom, Riles,” Josh said in disbelief as he was taking out my bags from the car, “This is a night you’ll remember forever.”

“I’ve had plenty of nights in this town that I’ll remember forever,” I took my purse and locked the car, “I think it’s enough for a lifetime.”

“Stop it,” He sighed, walking up the steps on our front porch – I’ve missed that porch, “I know it was tough but Maya said the school is not buzzing anymore, no one cares about what happened.”

“Yeah, well I do, so stop trying to make me go to prom,” I slowly walked into the house and announced myself, “I’m hom – I’m here.”

I was going to say home, but it didn’t feel like it - no matter how much I wanted it to be.

“Honey, she’s back,” My mom waltzed out of the kitchen, calling my dad, “My beautiful girl.”

She was in front of me in no time, hugging me so tight, I had to catch my breath. But it was the best hug I have ever received, I had no idea how much I have missed my mum until I was in her arms again.

“I’ve missed you so much, mommy,” I said when she finally let go and was already stroking my hair, “So much.”

“Not as much as I have missed you,” She was looking at me with love and care, “It’s so hard being away from you.”

After these words, how do I tell her that I am moving to Spain? How do I get this far away from my parents when I still don’t know how to be without them?

“My baby is here,” My dad ran down the stairs, “She is here.”

“Yes, daddy,” I ran into his arms, “I am home.”

anonymous asked:

OK this might be a little long, and go on in another ask but here goes. Beyond the actions of Lucas himself, there's another person who has insight into his head. That person is of course Zay. Yeah I know this all might be pretty obvious but I just thought I'd put it out there. Before he came to NY, Zay only knew what Lucas told him. So did Lucas tell him about his feelings or did he figure them out on his own? Either way he came to school with the impression that they'd be a good couple.

I personally feel like he knew about Lucas’ feelings, then saw through Mayas’ actions and knew that it was mutual. Also the first day of school he kinda flirted with Riley. Like, maybe he didn’t know exactly who they all were, but I kinda doubt he’d hit on the girl his best friend was oh so into. Tho Idk for sure. He seems pretty observant too, like after Texas he was all smiles when Lucas greeted Maya, but he turned to Riley after, and was like Bro what r u doing? and looked sadly at Maya.

I just feel that Lucas’ best friend from back home could read his true feelings correctly y'know? Also people may say- Oh but he didn’t see all that adorable R*cas so he’s bias. and that’s totally right, he only knows whatever Lucas told him. We know Riley was all swoony after the library and horse, but what about Lucas? It doesn’t seem like it given Zay’s thoughts on the matter. Like, he knows and cares about his best friends feelings so if he ships Lucaya, I think that should be telling.

Hey Anon!

I agree with many things you jjust said! And YAY I wanna talk about it (and I’ll get emotional, beware):

Zay is such a great character for this matter (for everything, i freaking love the kid, but let’s talk about Zay + Lucaya  then )

Unlike what everyone says, the good thing about him is that he is UNbiased.

Yeah, he only knows what Lucas said - and isn’t that EXACTLY the opinion we need??? Aren’t Lucas feelings the main problem in all of this mess?? How can anyone say that the fact that R*cas is cute is more important than Lucas POV on the whole story?? Is R*cas cuteness more important than how Lucas feels? If that’s the case, who THE HECK is being biased here??????? Who CARES if R*cas is cute if Lucas doesn’t love her like that? Why is that even relevant when all that matters is how Riley and Lucas truly feel?

We can see Riley’s feelings and her struggles but we can’t see a lot of Lucas’-So Zay IS PERFECT.

He knows Lucas a lot (he’s Lucas best friend). He knows Texas Lucas and New York Lucas. He knows what Lucas told him on the phone about the things he’s been through in New York.

He knows Lucas’ side of the story purely, without all that noise that comes from other characters (and how they BELIEVE Lucas feels). Like Riley’s crush, Cory’s worry/fatherly protectiveness , farkle’s jealousy, and Maya pushing Riley towards Lucas - at first, because she wants to teach Riley about life and then because she wants Riley to be happy (and she knows Riley has a crush on Lucas.

Those are ALL personal feelings that influence how these characters see the story. Those are the truly biased characters because their interests are affected by Riley and Lucas’ relationship

Farkle loves Riley, Cory is riley’s father and he shown many times he doesn’t like it when she grows up (so lol ofc he wouldn’t like a pretty older boy near his daughter), Riley likes Lucas and Maya wants Riley to be happy (AND she likes Lucas too). Seriously, how can ANY of these characters be considered unbiased in comparison to Zay???

What will Zay gain or lose if Riley and Lucas get together? And Maya and Lucas?

Nothing. (unlike all of the characters above)

What he will get - at MOST- is Lucas’ happiness. And if he ships Lucaya so yeah IT IS telling.

He talked to Lucas on the phone (as shown on Creativity) so he knew who Farkle, Riley and Maya were from Lucas’ perspective. And,since they are best friends, it’s not a great stretch to believe they’ve been talking ever since season 1 when R*cas “cuteness” happened so if Lucas was so freaking darn in love, he would have given Zay signs.

Zay would have known.

Even if Lucas hadn’t told him (IDK  if he did or didn’t but I would bet that he didn’t - Lucas is confused as heck even before Texas), Zay would be able to tell just by the way he would talk about Riley.

Isn’t that how he could tell on Creativity??

“ Hey, Maya, it looks like Lucas here’s gettin’ all fired up on your behalf. “

“ Well, he lookin’ at you now. “

“ Now they’re just lookin’ at each other and not sayin’ nothin’.
Are they saying anything? No? Well, I wonder that they’re thinkin’. “

Lucas doesn’t need to say anything directly. Lucas doesn’t even needs to know it himself. Zay is smart

 - and so are we.

So let’s try to put ourselves on Zay’s shoes for a moment?

let’s see the three adjectives Lucas threw around:

Genius, Pretty Brunnette, Blond Beauty.

Which one is the odd one out?

Calling someone pretty is different than beautiful. And PLEASE, please. This is not about a prettiness level thing or whatever, is the level of emotion behind it. Think about the situation: you don’t go around saying your crush’s best friend is beautiful while you call your crush pretty. What would that even tell you??

Moving further, let’s see what Zay would have gathered if he ONLY knew about the things we’ve seen on Creativity:

Genius + who’s loyal and kind

Pretty Brunnette+ who never gives up on anyone or anything. And no sacrifice is too big for her friends

Blonde Beauty-

-And this is the part when people say “he only talked about her physical appearance!! he clearly doesn’t love her!! He only thinks she’s pretty!! That doesn’t say anything!! that’s so superficial!! yada yada yada

No, no, no. You know what Lucas told Zay about Maya, because he’s told everyone:

Blonde Beauty + I want her to be happy. I feel bad, they’re taking away something she’s very good at. She’s a great artist. She has a real talent, and I want her to be better and share it with people. I don’t want them to take away her art class.

(Lucas said all that on the same episode.

Did we really need Zay to tell us what Lucas told him after we heard all that? did we need more? Knowing the writers… That… that would be too obvious)

Only with that, we see he admires Farkle and Riley A LOT. While what he feels for Maya is different.

His feelings are all over the place as he talks to Maya, about Maya. He said “I” 4 TIMES. 4 times he felt the need to express how Maya’s situation and traits affected HIM

(so OF COURSE Zay say those things on Creativity and OF COURSE he thinks Lucas likes her, how could he not?)

The only reason why anyone would think Riley is the one who Lucas likes in this situation is if they knew about the “R*cas cuteness” thing. And again I ask, isn’t that the biased opinion??

And let me tell you, Zay saw the R*cas cuteness thing. He first showed up on secret of life. He watched one of the most Riley and Lucas “shippy” scenes, which happened when they threw water at each other- and it still didn’t change his opinion.

He saw that scene as someone who wasn’t influenced by the emotional baggage that came from other characters and other episodes. And his opinion was that Lucas likes Maya.

And if that happened because he’s aware of Lucas thoughts and feelings on that matter and he’s ignoring everyone else’s opinions then-

GOOD
