Romance, Part One

There’s been a prompt in my inbox for quite some time, imploring me to write a bit of romance. Thing is, I’ve never even attempted romance. Not even once. But hell, it’s a chance to try something new. And I tried for you, anon. I tried my damnedest. So here goes.

(And many thanks to the immensely talented @edierone for her insight and suggestions!)

Summary: “And how exactly would you romance me, then? You know. Just so I don’t mix you up with any more shapeshifters.”

Make up or break up- Josh Dun

Josh had been spending a lot of time in the studio lately. He had even spent the last 2 nights there. You understood how stressful it would be trying to finish an album but you couldn’t help but miss him. You had been texting him all day asking when he would be home. He didn’t answer. You haven’t talked to him in a day now. He didn’t even bother to text you good night last night.
Hey Joshua. It’s your girlfriend. Have you forgotten about me? When are you coming home? I know you’re stressed but I mean you haven’t talked to me in over a day. I miss you. I love you.
Sent at 5:36pm
I’m extremely tired. I’m coming home now and going to bed.
Received at 5:38pm
Ok. See you then.
Sent at 5:39pm
Josh seemed short in his text. That meant he was in a bad mood. You just wished he would talk to you. The front door opened but you didn’t really notice. You just sat a the kitchen table and stared down at your cup of tea continuing to think. The slamming of keys hitting the counter made you jump slightly and pulled you from your thoughts.
“Oh hey babe. How was your day?” You asked in a calm nice tone trying to make him calm down a little.
“Really, how was your day? That’s what you ask me? My day was fine. I told you I was tired. I’m going to bed. Goodnight.” Josh’s tone was very aggressive.
“I-I’m sorry. Goodnight.” You went to give him a kiss but he just turned around and walked towards the bedroom.
You couldn’t hold back your emotions. That hurt like hell. You slid down to the floor and broke down crying. After a few minutes you heard footsteps approaching you. You looked up and saw an angry Josh. He wasn’t there to apologize or comfort you.
“Y/N can you stop being so damn dramatic. I can’t sleep with you out here crying and feeling sorry for yourself. Now either come join me in bed or why don’t you just leave. You don’t do anything around here. You don’t work and you expect me to be with you all the time. Well guess what I princess I’m at work all day and I don’t expect to come up to you being a fucking drama queen.” His face was red from anger and yelling. You just looked at him in shock unable to even stick up for yourself.
“Say something god damn it.” And with that he slapped you across your face.
You held your face for a moment before you pushed him aside and grabbed your keys and left through the front door.
As you walked to your car quickly you could hear Josh behind you.
“Fuck Y/N wait. No. Fuck. Shit I’m so sorry.” He grabbed for your arm to stop you. You looked into his eyes which were spilling out tears.
“Y/N please. Don’t leave. Please. I’m so sorry. I’ll do anything. I love you. Don’t go.”
You could tell it was going to break him if you left. But if you stayed and didn’t take time to think you might brake.
“I’m sorry Josh, but I can’t. I have to go.”
“Where are you gonna go. Please let’s just go inside and talk about it.” He was holding back his tears from falling again as yours fell one by one.
“Goodbye Josh.” With that you got in the car and drove off. You didn’t know exactly where you were headed but you ended up at Tyler and Jenna’s front door.
As you knocked it finally sent in what happened. You broke down as soon as the door opened.
“Holy crap Y/N. What’s wrong?” Jenna asked as she pulled you into a hug. Ever since you and Josh started dating 2 years ago you became best friend with Jenna.
“J-josh came in f-from the studio and h-he w-was really tired and h-he s-lapped me and y-yelled at m-me.” You tried to explain as Jenna lead you to the couch still hugging you. Tyler appeared in the room with a confused look.
“Hey Y/N, why aren’t you with Josh?” He realized that he probably shouldn’t of asked that once you looked up at him and sobbed harder.
Jenna got up leaving you on the couch and Tyler still stood across the room. She stopped to whisper something in his ear. His jaw dropped as she talked to him quietly. His look of shock turned to pissed. Jenna continued walking towards her room where she grabbed you some pajamas and Tyler came and sat next to you. He was like an older brother to you but it was awkward because Josh was his best friend.
“Y/N. I know you don’t want to hear this right now but it will be fine. He’s just really stressed and he’s never dealt with his stress well. I’ll call him and make sure he’s okay. But I need to know your okay first. You did the right thing coming here and not just leaving for good. Josh loves you so much. He needs you. You guys can’t give up on this relationship yet. I know he hurt you but…” he took a pause searching for the words. “He should have never touched you. I have no excuse for him for putting his hands on you. Why don’t we get you to the guest room and you can rest.” You nodded and he led you to the room where Jenna was setting up the bed for you. You thanked them and they left you alone.
As you got into bed after cleaning yourself up you look at your phone to see that it was 7:32 pm. Josh had called you 17 times, left you 13 voicemails, and texted you 43 times. You had to admit it made you happy to see he wasn’t giving up on the relationship. You still couldn’t bring yourself to listen or read any messages so you deleted them. You laid in the bed just looking at the ceiling. What felt like hours later was only about 45 minutes later when you heard the doorbell ring and footsteps heading towards the door. You heard Tyler raising his voice then slamming the door. Whoever it was he was clearly very pissed at them. You heard a quiet knock on the window that was to the right of you. You got up and opened it and saw a really upset Josh. He gave you a slight smile then spoke.
“I didn’t want to spend the night alone. I didn’t know where you were going and I couldn’t stand knowing that I made you so upset. I came here to see if I could crash here but Tyler said you were in the guest room and told me I needed to leave. But I could let you go again. I can’t do this Y/N. I love you too much. I so so sorry I never meant to put my hands on you.” As he said that you cupped your cheek. You felt a tear roll down your face.
“Please just come in here Josh.”
Josh hoisted himself through the window. You were glad Tyler and Jenna lived on a one floor house because otherwise you probably wouldn’t be in Josh’s arms right now. You went over to turn on the light when Josh let out a slight gasp.
“Shit Y/N. Did you see your face. It’s all bruised. I’m so sorry. I’m such a bad boyfriend. Oh my god I’ll never hurt you again.” You cut him off before he could go on.
“No. Josh it’s okay. Your stressed. I get it. Please just please promise me you’ll take a break from the studio. It’s changing you for the worse.” You looked into his mocha eyes as he just nodded and held back a few tears.
“You know I didn’t mean all that stuff I said. You do so much for me. You cook, clean, take care of me, you practically gave up your job for me. Your such an amazing person and I’m so glad you’re mine. I really mean it. I love you so much.”
“Josh shut up and kiss me already.” With that for the first time in over 2 days he gave you a kiss. It was a small yet loving kiss.
Once pulled apart you both got under the covers and cuddled into each other. You fell asleep after exchanging a few more kisses and ‘I love yous’.

Part 1

Sam composed himself and made his way back to his classroom. There were still five minutes until class started. You were in front of his desk, waiting to be told what to do before class.

“Who were those ‘men’?” Sam asked, approaching you. He leaned against the desk, not far from you.

You looked over to him and shrugged. “I’ve only seen them around campus.” You told him. “I think the one who you…choked…was some guy named JP.” At least, that’s what you heard him be called. Licking your lips, your hands were gripping the strap to your messenger bag.

He nodded. “He comes near you again, you come straight to me.”

“Wh-what if it’s after hours?”

Sam held his hand out. “Cell phone.” He said, leaving no room for argument. You pulled it from your pocket and handed it to him. He went to unlock it and looked at you. “Password?” He raised an eyebrow when you went to take it back.

Sighing, you told him. “It’s CTatum.” You mumbled.

“Did you just say CTatum?” He asked. You nodded and his eyes went back to your phone, quickly unlocking it. Moments later, your phone was back in your hand. Your fingers gripped it, but he didn’t let it go. Sam stood, his toes nearly touching yours. You looked up to him and swallowed. “He ever comes near you, you are to call me. Understood?”

You nodded. “Y-yes, sir.” You managed.

He smirked. “Good. You may have a seat.” Sam let go of your phone and turned to sit down at his desk.

If you don't mind I would really like a newtxreader where the reader is a really short(5') sytherin who stood up to bullies for newt even though she's really insecure for newts feelings for her. Really fluffy and sweet with some of newts children (fantastic beasts). I understand if you don't have time or you don't like the prompt but I'd really appreciate a pick me up. Thank you so much for your time I think your a fantastic writer.

“-and that’s how we brew a Confusing Concoction.” Professor Spraydel, a greying lady with more hair than she could contain, concluded after a brief introduction to the lesson. “Now, everyone into pairs please, you’ll be working together to make the potion. Mr Scamander, I’m afraid we have an odd number in class today so you’re with me dear.”

The class snickered as Newt sloped to the front of the class; this was a weekly occurrence since the class was always an uneven number yet Professor Spraydel always presented it like it was something new.

You glanced at the empty seat next to you where Olive Perplinski usually sat. Apparently, she was still in the hospital wing after being incorrectly hexed during the previous Defence Against the Dark Arts lesson; the spell had been mispronounced, resulting in toxic purple smoke escaping Olive’s mouth whenever she spoke.

You raised your hand, “Excuse me Professor, Olive hasn’t come back from the hospital wing yet.”

“Oh.” Professor Spraydel perked up, eagerly taking the opportunity to put Newt with somebody his own age. “In that case, Mr Scamander will pair up with you for today. Go on now dear,” she ushered him to the back of the class, “that’s it.”

Somehow, Newt looked even more embarrassed to be working with another student rather than the teacher. You wondered momentarily whether it was because the two of you were the only Slytherin/ Hufflepuff pairing or if he was just afraid of you like he was the other students.

“Now everyone, you have 45 minutes to complete the concoctions and five minutes to test them at the end; antidotes will be provided afterwards. Begin.”

“Hi.” You said over various sounds of bubbling cauldrons, chopping boards, and clinking vials.

Newt hunched over his potions book, hiding his face with a mumbled, “Hello,” back.

“I’m (Y/N).” You continued, undiscouraged by his shy nature.

“Yes, I k-know.”

You smiled empathetically. If you had been as ostracised as Newt had been during his time at Hogwarts, you would have probably acted the same way. You’d often observed Newt from afar during the years because Slytherin and Hufflepuff were usually put together for shared classes; it gave you time to admire his gentle manner and patience, even if he tended to get a little distracted. You also appreciated that he never fought or snapped back when bullied, which was the majority of the time, nor did he become bitter as some others may have done; it complimented his shy nature.

In the past, you’d desired the opportunity to speak with Newt and extend your hand in friendship but on the few occasions that you’d attempted to he was nowhere to be found; today’s potion lesson would be your first real chance.

“So, I think if we start with dried sage-” You picked the wrong ingredient on purpose, hoping that it would help bring him out of his shell.

“(Y/N), NO!” He grabbed your wrist from the cauldron which was bubbling away with pre-gathered blob fish mucus.

“Something wrong?”

“It’ll uh- It’ll explode.”

“Oh? Well, I best put this down then. Alright, where do we start?”

“It um- it’s actually dried rosemary so uh, you weren’t far off.”

“Right, I’ll chop that up and you can tell me what I need to get next.” You placed him in charge of the situation, deciding to take over if he got too anxious later on.

“Um I- I d-don’t think that’s a good i-idea.”

“Nonsense, if it weren’t for you, this pot would be up in smoke. So, I’ll get to chopping.”

With ten minutes to spare, the two of you had what looked to be an exquisite potion and as suspected, once Newt new what he was talking about in regards to the concoction, he had become much more confident, talking more to himself than you; you didn’t mind, so long as he wasn’t distressed.

“You did great Newt.” You praised excitedly, “You ever thought of being a potioneer?”

Newt blinked rapidly, taken aback by the comment, then once again bent over pages of his notebook, clamming up completely.

“Awh, don’t tell me you’re shy now, seriously, I think ours may be the best in the class and-”

“Can you just stop?” Newt murmured shakily.

“Excuse me?”

“You don’t have to pretend to be my friend anymore, the lesson’s almost over.”

A stray tear escaped him, you looked around to see that nobody was watching, leaning against the book to shield him from view in case he should cry some more. “Hey, it’s okay, I didn’t mean to upset you. It’s just… I thought we were doing really well together and you’re real’ nice so-”

“That’s enough.” He whispered more harshly this time, a finality to his voice. “It’s bad enough that people hate me, I don’t need you setting up some elaborately cruel prank and pretending to like me to make it hurt more.”

“Newt, I didn’t- That’s not-”

“Ooh, this looks promising.” Professor Spraydel interrupted, cutting you off.

You didn’t get a chance to explain to Newt, he hurtled out the classroom as soon as the class was dismissed.

“Oy (Y/N).” Michael Bowspark called over. “Pity you had to work with such a freak innit.”

The group around him howled madly with laughter, clearly waiting for you to join in. You bristled, and yelled, “SHUT UP MICHAEL.”

You ran out in search of Newt, leaving the group in stunned silence for a few seconds before more raucous laughter followed you out.

In the following weeks, Newt avoided you completely, even in lessons. It wasn’t like before though because snapping at Michael lost you the few friends you had within your own house. Although you knew it meant they weren’t real friends and you should be glad to be rid of them, you’d never felt so utterly alone; Olive only stayed with you for lessons because she had to.

Unbeknownst to you, Newt kept an eye out, waiting to see how long it would take for you to admit the game was over and regroup with your friends; as each day dwindled on, it became less and less likely that you would, and more obvious that this may not be a game or trick of some form. Still, he kept his defences up, staying away from you just in case, disappearing as he always had after lessons in case you got the urge to search for him.

You gave up hope of companionship for a while after a nasty argument in the common room. Various snippets of unimportant conversation surrounded you as you trudged flights of complicated moving staircases to the library where you hoped you’d find peace.

“-and the nurse couldn’t fix her boils-”

“-It’s true, the slugs really ate my herbology homework-”

“-So, I can’t go home for Christmas now cos’ me pa hates muggles-”

“-P-p-please, let me -d-down-”

You came to a halt, searching for the source of the last voice which was unmistakably Newt’s terrified squeak. It didn’t take long as a small crowd gathered at an unmoving area of the staircase where a lanky, sneering Ravenclaw girl had just begun levitating Newt for all to see; she was flanked by two burly Gryffindors, who you supposed were her bodyguards. Without hesitating, you ran up the last few steps, pushing forcefully to the front of the crowd.

“What’s your bets lads?” The girl jeered through her incredibly nasally voice. “How many spins before he vomits?”

You stood behind the taller, more built guy, though it was hard to call him a guy as opposed to a walking slab of beef with a face. Despite the fact that he was leagues taller than you, as most people were, you reached up, yanking his hair back sharply and pulling him closer to your level. He screamed in agony, turning everyone’s attention to you. The Ravenclaw turned to you, casually slinging her wand over her shoulder, keeping Newt suspended as he watched with streaming, embarrassed tears.

“What do you think you’re doing?” The Ravenclaw demanded casually.

“YOU. PUT. HIM. DOWN. RIGHT. NOW.” You spoke through gritted teeth, unable to contain your seething fury.

“I think you’ll find that I have extra muscle.”

“YEAH? WELL, I THINK YOU’LL FIND THAT I’D ONLY HAVE TO SMASH THIS IDIOT’S FACE ONCE AGAINST THIS FLOOR TO BREAK HIS NOSE, AND HOW WOULD YOU EXPLAIN THAT?”

The girl’s lip curled, making her face look more like that of a rat’s, “You wouldn’t.”

“Try me.” You raised the boy’s head slightly, showing your full intention and capability.

“Urgh, fine.” She huffed, lowering Newt slowly to the floor, where he scrambled up, getting behind you for further protection. “It’s not like he was much fun anyway, come on boys.” She parted the crowd, who were dispersing at your savage gaze as fast as they could manage to get a staircase.

“You alright?” Your tone took a worried edge on as you turned to Newt, craning your neck to face him properly.

He was wiping his tears away whilst staring at you in disbelief, constantly wondering how something so small could be such a threat, “Y-you were r-really going to h-hurt him.”

“Actually, he was really heavy, I doubt I could’ve done much.”

“T-then how-”

“You make a scary face and keep a confident voice, it’ll fool most people. Though, come to think of it, you should learn some defence spells or something, then you’d be okay.”

“I k-know the spells, I just d-d-don’t like to use t-them.”

You exhaled tiredly, leaning your head against the wall to laugh almost silently. Newt watched as if you’d gone mad.

“(Y/N)? Are you a-alright? If you need h-help-”

You waved his offer away weakly, gasping for air between more desperate giggles, “You’re- really- something- Can’t- believe- you- know- how- but-”

Newt caught your drift, laughing a little himself, though often checking to see that you were okay for him to join in.

When you finally regained control, you asked in all seriousness, “What were they even doing it for?”

“I uh- I wouldn’t tell them where I go after classes, they thought it would be a good place to bunk off lessons.”

“Ahh, your super, secret hiding place, got’cha.”

“Y-Yes quite. Um, actually, (Y/N), I’m afraid I o-owe you a bit of an apology about that p-potions lesson.”

“Forget it.” You smiled, relaxed.

Newt tensed up, stating formally, “I will do no such thing. You were being polite and I made a rather rude assumption against your good name. I swear, I’ll not rest until I make it up to you.”

“Oh yeah? And how’re you gonna do that?”

“I’ll… I’ll…” He paused, the sudden bravado disappearing as quickly as it had come until he looked a little hopeful, “Do um, do you like magical creatures?”

You chuckled quizzically, “Sure, I think they’re unique.”

“Then I’ll… I’ll show you my hiding place, come on.”

He walked past you, gesturing for you to follow down the many steps you’d just travelled up. You followed eagerly, curious to see how the magical creatures and his secret place interlinked.

To say you were out of breath was an understatement. You were used to long walks through the Hogwarts grounds but you didn’t usually have to trek through the thick wood of the Forbidden Forest in full uniform. At first sight of the forest you had been hesitant to proceed, knowing of some of the dangerous creatures that lurked within but at Newt’s first real smile at you, you knew that it would be okay somehow, like he knew what lay ahead.

After trekking further on, until you could only see the towers of Hogwarts above the treeline, Newt stopped in front of a large thorn bush. He pushed a few of the branches aside, leaving a small opening for you to enter. You looked from the opening to Newt, seeing how it was too small for any person.

“Don’t worry, it’s safe, I promise.” He reassured you, nodding back at the gap.

You sighed, hunching up as small as you could to avoid the thorns but you quickly realised that each one you hit turned to smoke then rematerialized as though it had never been touched.

“It’s just an illusion.” Newt explained, following you in and putting the real thorn branches back where they belonged.

You came to the end of the illusion tunnel until you were in a rounded hut, made entirely of weaved willow. Piles of cushions and muddy blankets covered the floor, acting like a thin carpet, and animals the likes of which you’d never seen had nests and sets in various spots of the room.

You were awe-struck as you watched a small, green, leaf-like creature climb up Newt’s trouser leg.

Newt looked down, “Oh, I wouldn’t worry about him, this is just Pickett, he has some attachment issues.”

“And Pickett is a…?”

“A Bowtruckle. He was my first rescue, it seems his family tree suffered lightning damage but he was the only one who stayed to protect it, I imagine that’s why he has issues with others of his kind.”

The confidence faded from Newt’s voice momentarily as he gazed at you apprehensively, “Do you… do you like him?”

By now Pickett had stubbornly made his way up to the crook of Newt’s elbow, you bent down to the creature’s level, “Hello Pickett, it’s very nice to meet you.”

Pickett paused, not used to being addressed by anyone other than Newt. He turned to glare at you, sticking his tongue out in obvious disdain.

“Now Pickett,” Newt reprimanded, “that’s not how we treat guests, be nice to (Y/N), (s)he was nice to me.”

Pickett ignored the request and continued his climb.

You were about to speak again but you were interrupted by a mournful warbling, you felt the sudden urge to cry at the terrible sound, like something dreadful had just happened but you couldn’t remember what.

Newt bent to see four small, murky green chicks, residing on a bright yellow pillow, “Ahh, Audrey, now is not the time for that, see, your sisters are being nice and quiet, aren’t they?”

“What’s wrong with her?” You asked sadly. “Is she sick?”

“No, Augurey’s simply chirp when it’s about to rain but she tends to do so at any given time, it’s why she can’t be reintroduced with the others when they grow a little more.”

You raised your eyebrows at his use of the word chirp, “So she doesn’t get the weather right, how come that means she can’t go back out there?”

“Augurey’s only fly in the rain, and since Audrey can’t get it right it would make her survival increasingly difficult.”

You nodded, feeling a little better now that the wailing had stopped. “So this place, you made it?”

“With magic.”

“And you rescue animals?”

“Yes, I want them to be understood as something more than potion parts… I-is that okay?”

You looked back to Newt, who was towering nervously nearby, much closer than he was before, “Just tell me one more thing.”

Newt gulped apprehensively, waiting for you to run out and tell the headmaster.

“How can I help?”

“W-what?”

“This is a great cause.” You stopped to admire a fairy that had just appeared in front of you. “I want to be part of it.”

Newt’s heart skipped a beat at your apparent enthusiasm, “F-forgive me for saying it but… I’ve never met a… a Slytherin like you.”

You smiled, shaking your head slightly, “Yeah well… we’re not as bad as you’d think. So, can I help then? Am I in?”

“Y-yes, of course. C-come on, I’ll t-teach you about kneazles.”

You moved to a small pile of books, kept safely behind a fireguard away from the creatures. Throughout the remainder of the day, Newt taught you all about the creature’s he kept, pointing out why he kept them and why the needed him. Even though it was a lot to take in, you felt confident that with Newt to teach you, you’d be able to remember it all in no time.

The Husband Who Was Too Shy To Look At His Wife.
(a moving story)
Please Read it don’t think its too big,
This story was recounted by Prof. Khalid Al-Jubeir, consulting cardiovascular surgeon, in one of his lectures:Once I operated on a two and a half year old child. It was Tuesday, and on Wednesday the child was in good health.
On Thursday at 11:15 am – and I’ll never forget the time because of the shock I experienced – one of the nurses informed me that the heart and breathing of the child had stopped. I hurried to the child and performed cardiac massage for 45 minutes and during that entire
time the heart would not work. Then, ALLAH decreed for the heart to resume function and we thanked HIM.
I went to inform the child’s family about his condition. As you know, it is very difficult to inform the patient’s
family about his condition when it’s bad. This is one of the most
difficult situations a doctor is subjected to but it is necessary.
So I looked for the child’s father whom I couldn’t find. Then I found his
mother. I told her that the child’s cardiac arrest was due to bleeding in his throat; we don’t know the cause of this bleeding and fear that his brain is dead.
So how do you think she responded?
Did she cry?
Did she blame me?
No, nothing of the sort. Instead, she said “Alhamdulillah” (All Praise is due to ALLAH)
and left me. After 10 days, the child started moving. We thanked ALLAH and
were happy that his brain condition was reasonable.
After 12 days, the heart stopped again because of the same bleeding. We performed another cardiac massage for 45 minutes but this time his heart didn’t respond. I told his mother that there was no hope.
So she said: “Alhamdulillah. O ALLAH, if there is good in his recovery, then cure him, O my Lord.” With the grace of ALLAH, his heart started functioning again.
He suffered six similar cardiac arrests till a trachea specialist was able to stop the bleeding and the heart started working properly. Now, three and a half months had passed and the child was recovering but did not move. Then just as he started moving, he was afflicted
with a very large and strange pus-filled abscess in his head, the likes of which I had never seen.
I informed his mother of the serious development. She said “Alhamdulillah” and left me.
We immediately turned him over to the surgical unit that deals with the brain and nervous system and they took over his treatment.
Three weeks later, the boy recovered from this abscess but was still not moving. Two weeks pass and he suffers from a strange blood poisoning and his temperature reaches 41.2°C (106°F).
I again informed his mother of the serious development and she said with patience and certainty: “Alhamdulillah. O ALLAH, if there is good in his recovery, then cure him.
”After seeing his mother who was with her child at Bed#5,
I went to see another child at Bed#6. I found that child’s mother crying and screaming, “Doctor! Doctor! Do something! The boy’s temperature reached 37.6°C (99.68°F)! He’s going to die! He’s going to die!”
I said with surprise, “Look at the mother of that child in Bed#5. Her child’s fever is over 41°C (106°F), yet she is patient and praises ALLAH.”
So she replied: “That woman isn’t conscious and has no senses”.
At that point, I remembered the great Hadith of the Prophet (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wa Sallam): “Blessed are the strangers.”
Just two words… but indeed two words that shake a nation!
In 23 years of hospital service, I have never seen the likes of this patient sister.
We continued to care for him. Now, six and a half months have passed and the boy finally came out of the recovery unit – not talking, not seeing, not hearing, not moving, not smiling, and with an open chest in which you can see his beating heart. The mother changed the dressing regularly and remained patient and hopeful.
Do you know what happened after that?
Before I inform you, what
do you think are the prospects of a child who has passed through all these dangers, agonies, and diseases?
And what do you expect this patient mother to do whose child is at the brink of the grave and who is unable to do anything except supplicate and beseech ALLAH?
Do you know what happened two and a half months later?
The boy was completely cured by the mercy of ALLAH and as a reward for this pious mother. He now races his mother with his feet as if nothing happened and he became sound and healthy as he was before. The story doesn’t end here. This is not what moved me and brought tears to my eyes.
What filled my eyes with tears is what
follows: One and a half years after the child left the hospital, one of the brothers from the Operations Unit informed me that a man, his wife and two children wanted to see me. I asked who they were and he replied that he didn’t know them. So I went to see them, and I found the parents of the same child whom I operated upon.
He was
now five years old and like a flower in good health – as if nothing happened to him. With them also was a four-month old newborn. I welcomed them kindly and then jokingly asked the father whether the newborn was the 13th or 14th child.
He looked at me with an astonishing smile as if he pitied me. He then said, “This is the second child, and the child upon whom you operated is our first born, bestowed upon us after 17 years of infertility. And after being granted that child, he was afflicted with the conditions that you’ve
seen.”
At hearing this, I couldn’t control myself and my eyes filled with tears.
I then involuntarily grabbed the man by the arm, and pulling him to my room, asked him about his wife: “Who is this wife of yours who after 17 years of infertility has this much patience with all the fatal conditions that afflict her first born?! Her heart cannot be barren! It must be fertile with Imaan!
”Do you know what he said? Listen carefully my dear brothers and sisters. He said, “I was married to this woman for 19 years and for all these years she has never missed the [late] night prayers except due to an authorized excuse. I have never witnessed her backbiting, gossiping, or lying. Whenever I leave home or return, she opens the door, supplicates for me, and receives me hospitably. And in everything she does, she demonstrates the utmost love, care, courtesy, and compassion.” The man completed by saying, “Indeed, doctor, because of all the noble manners and affection with which she treats me, I’m shy to lift up my eyes and look at her.
So I said to him: “And the likes of her truly deserve that from you.
#11- Birth/ How They React to you Giving Birth

Requested- yes

Scott-
“Melissa, where is Scott? He should have been out of class 45 minutes ago!” You cried. “Trust me honey, I know. I think that if he’s not here in about 10 minutes though, we’re gonna have to do this together.” Melissa sighed. You let out a frustrated cry/groan and threw your head back. Of course, 10 minutes passed and Scott hadn’t shown up so you had to go through the birthing process with your mother-in-law. “The baby’s crowning!” The doctor exclaimed. You let out a long breath you had been holding and readied yourself for hopefully, the last pushes. “I’m here!” Scott exclaimed, running into the room with 2 duffel bags, a bouquet of flowers, stuffed animals, balloons, and your favorite fast food. “Get over here! Hold your wife’s other hand and help her through this.” Melissa ordered. Scott gulped and nodded, taking your left hand in his hands and nervously playing with the ring on your finger. “One last push! You can do this!” The doctor cheered. You took a deep breath and let out a grunt, immediately followed by the sounds of a baby crying. “You did great.” Scott whispered. “Thank you,” you smiled weakly. “I’m sorry I took forever.” Scott mumbled. “Yeah, but you made it just in time.” You reassured. “Here they are. A perfectly healthy baby.” A nurse smiled. “They’re beautuful.” Scott whispered. The baby was gently placed into your awaiting arms, while Scott leaned over the two of you. “Thank you for being so supportive and helpful through this.” You smiled. “I didn’t do that much.” Scott blushed. “This precious, little human couldn’t have been made without you, and you brought me all my favorites. Which I plan on eating before I hibernate for seven years.” You laughed.

Stiles-
“Stiles! I think I’m supposed to be panicking in this situation!” You yelled. “My fiancé is in labor! With 2 children! What if everything doesn’t happen correctly?” Stiles yelled. “Uhhh yeah uh huh.” You mumbled. Sweat ran down your face and everything began to go blurry and you got dizzy. You passed out. “(Y/N)! Honey, wake up!” Stiles panicked. “Alright (Y/N), everything looks fine- Stiles. What happened?” Melissa asked. “I said the wrong thing. She passed out.” Stiles whimpered. “Run out to the hall, get the doctor, water, and a coffee.” Melissa ordered. “Why are you over here? You don’t even work in pediatrics or the children’s ward.” Stiles defended. “I snuck over here to check on my other baby children, now go.” Melissa demanded. Stiles rushed out and came back 5 minutes later with everything Melissa asked for. “Drink the coffee. Hand me the water and Doctor, she has about 20 minutes until she’s fully dilated.” Melissa explained. “I’ll adjust the IVs and just gently try to wake her up.” The doctor answered. And true to Melissa’s word, about 20 minutes later and 5 minutes after you woke up. “I hate you Stiles!” You screamed, purposely squeezing his hand harder. “I’m sorry.” Stiles sighed, before passing out himself. 3 hours later you held your 2 babies in each arm. “They’re so beautiful,” you said with a teary smile. “Hey honey, oh Stiles.” Sheriff said, shaking his head. “Come hold your grand-baby.” You smiled. He gently took a baby into his arms, and taking a seat in the chair next to Stiles. “I’m so tired.” You yawned. “Go to sleep honey, Stiles will be up soon enough to meet the babies.” Sheriff smiled, gently placing a kiss on your forehead and taking the second baby from your grasp. You woke up nearly 3 hours later, the sound of 2 babies gurgling, lauging, and crying filled your ears. “Hello Love, I’m sorry I passed out.” Stiles apologized. “My little ball of anxiety and nerves, thank you. Having you near me was good enough.” You smiled.

Liam-
“Is she going to be OK?” Liam asked the doctor. “We offer nothing but the best here, sir.” The doctor reassured. “How long after will it continue to hurt?” Liam asked. “Well 20 is a rather young age, but everyone’s pain tolerance is different. Depending on how she handles it then longest it will should last is about 2 weeks.” The doctor answered. “Liam! Liam! Look there’s a baby in here!” You giggled. “Is she ok?” Liam asked. “The epidural and other drugs are kicking in.” The nurse replied. “Ok (Y/N), we’re going to roll you to the OR, when you wake up afterwards, you’ll have a beautiful baby.” A nurse smiled. “A baby? It’s going to be so cute!” You cheered. “I’ll tell you what, if you’re ready in 5 minutes you can come into the OR and help.” The doctor offered Liam. Liam immediately rushed to where the doctor instructed, running past Scott and his daughter Allie, who he invited to the hospital as soon as the appointment was scheduled. Scott woke up and rubbed his eyes, “Its time?” “Yeah, I have to get scrubbed up though, I want to be there for her.” Liam smiled. Scott smiled, settling back down and pulling his phone out to text the rest of the pack about your delivery. Allie giggled at Liam as she watched him run down the hall to the OR in scrubs. “Daddy, uncle Liam looks funny.” She giggled, resting her head on Scott’s shoulder. “He does, doesn’t he baby? He had to dress like that for when (Y/N) has their baby. That way he’ll be clean and safe from blood and guts.” Scott explained. Allie cringed and stuck her tongue out at the thought. A couple of hours later, you were wheeled back to your room, still asleep with Liam trailing behind with the little baby in his arms. Lydia jumped up, quietly following the new dad to your room where you were awake again. “He was actually very helpful. The moment the doctor said he could help he was down that hall!” Scott exclaimed. “I love you, honey.” You smiled up at Liam as he placed the baby in your arms. “Yeah but she loves me more!” Allie exclaimed, while she peeked over your shoulder to look at her new cousin. The pack laughed, all getting comfortable and ready for when the baby was passed to them.

Derek-
“Why did you let me do this?” You cried. No epidural. No other form of pain killers. Good old, natural child birth. “Ahhhhh!” You screamed. “It will all be worth it.” Derek reassured. “Really, its going to be worth it if I get this nasty polluted air up my lady bits and in my child?” You sarcastically questioned. “Lay back and squeeze my hand when the next contraction comes.” Derek instructed. “So I’m fat and ugly, now my husband is ignoring me! Wow! This is great.” You exclaimed. Derek rolled his eyes and comfortingly rubbed the back of your hand to try and calm you down. “Ok well, why don’t we get you situated in the bathtub so we can get this baby out!?” The midwife cheered. You gave her an annoyed look but got up anyways with the help of her and Derek. “Lucky I was here when your water broke! I always love hearing that water hit the floor.” She mumbled to herself. You sent Derek an annoyed glare. This crazy lady was all his idea. They slowy eased you into the warm tub water and you leaned against the back of the rub, hoping to release some pain. “How do you feel?” Derek asked. “Like I have to take a major dump.” You spat out. “Great! You must be very close to fully dilated!” The midwife gasped. You leaned over, pulling Derek by the collar and whispered deadly threats into his ear. Another 30 minutes past and finally after 7 hours of labor a beautiful baby was placed in your arms. “Aren’t you just a blessing. Of course, if it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t have had to deal with this psychopathic lady.” You whispered to the now sleeping baby. Derek quickly took the baby to the crib and helped you lightly wash off in the shower. “Thank you for keeping me calm and making sure I didn’t kill the poor lady.” You mumbled as Derek helped gently towel dry you. “Well one of us had to remain sane and I figured it should be me since I was the one who got you pregnant. At least I hope I was.” Derek joked. You lightly punched his arm and allowed him to carry your tired yet clean body to the bed. You settled down in the blankets and pillows and sat with Derek and the baby right between you two. “This baby is a literal chill pill.” You mumbled, lightly running your fingertips over the baby’s belly. “Yeah that’s never going to be a nickname so just stop now.” Derek replied.

Theo-
“Theo!” You screeched from the living room. “Yes darling?” He asked. “The baby is 3 months early.” You answered. “Oh… Ok well do you think we can like stop by and get some McDonald’s? I’m really hungry! Oh and maybe can you hand me that shirt right there?” Theo asked, pointing at one of the folded shirts on the basket of laundry. “Theo your girlfriend of 5 years is going into labor 3 months early and you want to stop and get McDonald’s?” You asked. “It’s 7 in the morning, I still have conditioner in my hair and only coffee in my system.” He sighed. “Oh poor you! Go finish getting showered while I get my bag! And get myself into the car! You can clean up my whole broken water situation later.” You growled, beginning to head to the bedroom to get your bag. “Guys are stupid.” You muttered to yourself with a small duffel bag in tow. “I heard that!” Theo yelled. “Good!” You yelled back. After waiting 10 minutes for Theo and guilt tripping him with your contractions, you were finally at the hospital. “My my my! This baby is speedy!” The nurse smiled, helping you adjust your pillows soon after. “I know, and the baby’s early! Thank goodness I was home! Nearly got here all by myself!” You smiled proudly. “No man?” The nurse asked. “Oh there’s a man alright. But he wanted to stop by McDonald’s and made me wait nearly 20 minutes while he showered.” You sighed. You hadn’t even realized that the contractions were getting worse until Theo walked in with a tray of food. “I’m having a baby!” He cheered. While you sat and endured the last of the pre-contractions, Theo sat and munched on his food. “Let’s have a baby!” The doctor exclaimed. “Finally!” You cried after 3 hours of labor. “What a gorgeous baby.” The nurse smiled, handing you a swaddled baby. “How is everything?” Theo asked. “Vitals, heart rate, and organs are all good! We had a little trouble with the breathing for about 2 minutes but the baby is perfectly healthy.” She smiled. “Thank you.” You and Theo smiled. “Right after the birthing process you get all concerned huh mister? Finally helpful, you lazy bum.” You teased. “Believe it or not, the whole birthing process makes me squeamish, but I had to do something! Holding you hand, feeding you ice, and brushing your hair away would not be enough for me!” He declared.

Isaac-
“Oh yeah, Paris was lovely! Chris was a great guide and translator!” You gushed to Lydia. “That was years ago! Tell me about the honeymoon!” She exclaimed. “Baja was so beautiful! The water was great, the people were nice! The hotel was to die for and it was just really relaxing.” You smiled. “I cant believe you went on vacation with a 7 and a half month pregnant belly.” Lydia sighed, chuckling a bit. “Well the baby wasn’t born, which is great, but the baby got too comfortable in this belly! Now they don’t want to come out! I’m 3 days overdue.” You groaned. “So maybe tomorrow wouldn’t be a good day to have a baby shower?” Lydia asked sheepishly. “Lydia! You did not!” You exclaimed. “I did… hey did you pee?” She asked. “Uhh no?” You answered. You looked up, both of you staring at each other before letting out high pitched screams. “What is it?” Isaac asked, rushing into the house with Scott and Stiles right behind him. “She’s going into labor!” Lydia answered. “Phew, ok, let’s all stay calm and get her to the hospital. Isaac, let’s get her to the car. Lydia go get her bag, it should be at the foot of the bed, and anything else she may need. Stiles call my mom and tell her that we’re on our way.” Scott instructed. After all that was taken care of, you were rushed to the hospital and got there right as the first contraction hit. Another 5 hours later and the baby was finally ready. “What if I’m not ready to be a dad? What if they don’t like me? I’m going to be a horrible dad! You’re going to leave me and take the baby with you!” Isaac panicked. “The baby will love you, I will never leave you, and you and I are going to be the best dang parents in the world!” You reassured. “One last push! Come on!” The doctor cheered. You threw your head back with a grunt and let more tears fall down your cheeks. “I can’t!” You cried. “Yes you can. Look at me. If you can convince me, I can sure as hell convince you. You can do this. You are the strongest person I know.” Isaac encouraged. You nodded, sitting up and letting out a grunt and pushing one last time. “You did a great job.” Isaac smiled. “Thank you.” You panted with a smile on your face as you looked at the baby being placed in Isaac’s arms. “Look at that sweet little smile, a happy baby that already loves you.” You said with a teary smile. “My perfect little family.” Isaac whispered.

A/N: Hey guys! Sorry I haven’t posted in so long, I’m just trying to get into my school habit again so I’m very sorry for the lack of imagines and preferences. As always, requests are open and welcome. I hope you enjoy!

2 More Weeks- Tyler Joseph

Request- Can you do a Tyler one where he’s on tour and you’re alone with your two kids and he gives you the bad news that they added two more weeks to the tour. You can end it however you want 🖤🖤🖤

Just 2 more day, 2 more days and he’ll be home to help. 2 more days until you can see the love of your life and your children’s father. Tyler had been gone for 5 weeks at this point and you really missed him. You missed waking up to him and your 5 year old daughter, Olivia making breakfast in the kitchen singing songs. You missed him getting up at 3 am to put your 2 year old daughter, Hannah back to bed. You missed seeing your girls run up to him every time he would come home from the studio. You missed talking to someone that actually knows the English language better than a kindergartner.

You loved your kids so much, but after 5 weeks of being alone with no help from Tyler you were getting tired. It seemed like the past 3 days have been going by extra slow. You usually had help from Tyler’s mom or his sister but they were both out of tow this week. You could manage your kids, but they just seemed not to be listening for the past 3 days. They were typically very well behaved but not seeing their father for so long, I think it had started to make them go crazy.

“Liv get off the iPad, I need you to finish your homework.” you said that night before dinner.

“No.” Olivia sassed back. “Daddy would let me play if I wanted to.”

“Olivia Jane, I need you to get off the iPad now and finish your homework before dinner. You can have it back when you’re done.” you said as calm as you could trying to to show frustration from the long day.

“I said no!” she said sternly. Olivia was typically very laid back easy kid like Tyler, but tonight she was being a little brat.

You walked over to her and grabbed the iPad from her little hands.

“No. Mommy please.” she begged. “I’m sorry. Please.” she began to cry.

“Let’s do the homework, eat dinner, get ready for bed, and then and only then will I think of giving this back to you.” you said.

“Okay mommy, I’m sorry. I miss daddy.” she said looking down to the floor.

“I Know you do baby, we all do. He’ll be home in just 2 days.” you said to cheer her up. It worked and she was off doing her homework before you could even continue. The girls were too young to understand why Tyler wasn’t there, but they knew he was singing somewhere and they knew that he missed them very much.

Once dinner was ready you went to go get your 2 year old Hannah who you left unsupervised for only all of 3 minutes.

“Hey Han! Let’s go eat dinn-” you stop talking when you walked into the playroom to see Hannah covered head to toe in marker. The walls were decorated with her finger pints and scribbles.

“Hannah, what did you do?” you asked really trying not to raise your voice at her.

“Ooops. Sorry mommy.” she said the best she could at 2 years old.

Hannah was always a little more of trouble maker, but this was way out of line. You were too tired to deal with it.

“Hannah this was very bad of you. I’m not happy and either will daddy when he finds out.” you disciplined her and then brought her to the bathroom to clean her up the best until you gave her a bath later.

Sitting down for dinner you listened to Olivia’s crazy stories of what happened on the playground today and the stories of how a boy tried kissing her on the playground.

“Then I said ‘eeeeewwwwwwwww, no boys have cooties’ and ran off with my friends mommy.” Olivia said.

“Well they do, I don’t want you kissing anyone before you’re at least 16.” you said.

“Daddy told me I had to married first.” you laughed when she said that. Tyler was such a  protective father and always wanted the best for his girls. They were his world and you knew he hated being away from them. From you too, you were his love of his life, his dime piece wife, his best friend.

“When did daddy kiss you?” Olivia asked when you were cleaning up dinner. She was just finishing her homework and Hannah was on your hip talking  to herself about something only a 2 years old would talk about.

“Well,” you thought back to the time when Tyler asked you out and you kissed him on your first date. “Daddy asked me out on a date to the movies and he was a really nice boy and when he dropped me off back home, I gave him a kiss.” you said leaving out the details of how magical the kiss was.

“Were you married yet?” she asked.

You chuckled. “No, we were just kids ourselves.” you said with a smile. “But older kids. Like I said no kissing before 16.” you said quickly getting the point across to her.

“Were you 16?”

“Yeah.”

You finished cleaning up and started a bath for your kids.

“Mommy can we call daddy?” Hannah asked when you put he into the tub.

“Well not now,but you know he always call before bed. Now let’s get you cleaned up. Daddy isn’t gonna be very happy about the marker issue.” you told her.

After the bath you got both of them ready for bed and tucked in.

It was 7:45 and Tyler usually called at 8, so you sat in between their beds in their shared room and read them the story of cinderella.

“Mommy did you feel like princess when you married daddy?” Olivia asked.

“I did, he’s my prince charming and I love him very much. One day you’ll find your prince charming and he will sweep you off you feet just like daddy did to me.” you said and it put a big smile on both of their faces.

At this point it was 8:04. He always called at the same time and your girls needed to get to bed.

“Why hasn’t daddy called yet?” Hannah asked as you got up putting the book away and going to turn off the light. You were hoping they would have forgotten and just went to bed, but of course they wouldn’t forget, they looked forward to this all day long.

“I’m not sure? I’ll call him.” you  said pulling out your phone to facetime Tyler.

It rang for a minute before Tyler picked up, his face lighting up the screen.

“Hey Ty. you have 2 very excited girls that want to talk to you.” you said passing the phone to the 2 of them who were now in the same bed.

“Hi daddy.” they both said.

“Hey my babies. How’s it going?”he asked and they both told him some stories from the day.

Once they were done you intervened telling Tyler they needed to get their beauty sleep.

“Alright girls say bye. You have ny early morning with school tomorrow Liv and Han you have swim school tomorrow. We have to get to sleep. Tyler say bye.” both girls begged to keep talking but Tyler stood on your side.

“Mommies right. I love you girls so much and I miss you. Sweet dreams my babies. I’ll take to you tomorrow.” they said their goodbyes and hung up. You put Hannah back in her bed and turned on the night light.

“I love you guys. I’ll see you in the morning. Good night.” you said kissing them on the head and leaving the room.

As soon as you closed the door you checked the time. 8:57.

There was no point in calling Tyler back now, he would be going on stage to perform in 3 minutes. So you texted him asking if he could call you after the show. He of course answered with a yes and a love you.

You went into the playroom to reassess the maker issue. Scrubbing the walls took 2 hours to get it all off. She caused quite a bit of destruction in just 3 minutes. She was definitely your daughter, always up to something as a child.

After cleaning the house up from the days use you finally made it to the bed. You plopped down sighing from today’s stress. Raising 2 kids on your own was really hard. Some days were gonna be harder than other and today was definitely one of them, but just 2 more days and Tyler would be back to help you.

At 12:00 you realized that the show was would have been over by now and Tyler still hadn’t called. Why was he ignoring you? First not calling the girls then you. What’s up with him?

You quickly texted him not knowing if he would be asleep yet.

To Tyler

Ummm… Did you forget about me? JK. please call me.

Sent 12:01am

You phone started to ring almost immediately.

“Hey babe.” you said with a smile.

“Hi.” Tyler replied not looking at you but still had the camera positioned in front of his face.

“Tyler, are you okay?” you asked out of  concern for his strange acting.

“Yeah, just tired.” he said looking up at you and then looking back to where ever he was looking.

“Don’t lie to me. You suck at lying. What’s wrong?”

“I’m sorry.” he said looking at you with his eyes as beautiful as always.

“I can’t accept an apology if I don’t know what it’s for.” you said starting to get annoyed at his distance.

“Look, I don’t want to do this but it’s for the best.” he paused. “I had to extend tour.” your heart dropped at his words. All the frustration was no longer hidden as your face began to get red.

“What the hell do you mean you have to? Tyler you have kids and a wife back home who really need you. Didn’t you think to ask me first?” you start to yell at him and you could tell he was sorry but you didn’t care. You needed help and in the moment you were just really pissed.

“Y/N, I’m sorry. I found out today and I didn’t want to tell you, knowing you would be upset. You have to quiet down otherwise you’ll wake the girls.” tears start to roll down your cheeks out of frustration.

“Tyler you don’t understand how much I do in a day with our children. I’m so tired and just need help.” you said in tears.

“I know. I really do Y/N, I appreciate all that you do for this family. It was better though if I did it this way. Now I don’t have that mini tour in the summer. I’m just getting it down now. I love you and I love Olivia and Hannah so much, you don’t even understand how much I want to be there with you guys. How much I want to take all of the stress off your shoulders, how much I want to be the one up late at night with Hannah ad the one up early with Olivia. I want to be home with you, in our bed holding you in my arms. I really hate being away from you for so long. We just have to look at the bigger picture. It’s better this way.” he said.

His words calmed you down and your heart was beating at how sincere he was.

“I love you Ty.”

“I love you too Y/N. this summer I want to take you and the girls somewhere for vacation. Anywhere you want. You deserve the world Y/N and I want to give it to you.” Tyler said with a big smile.

“I’m sorry I got upset. It’s just hard alone. I’m looking forward to you coming home.”

“I can’t wait to be home. In the meantime, my mom is gonna stay over once she gets back in town to help you. I know how the girls can get when things change.”

“Thank you. I mean it, thank you for being so understanding.”

“Being a parent is hard, especially alone.”

“But I‘m not alone, I have you and when you’re not here I have your family.”

“I love you Y/N. Way more than words and describe. Now get some sleep, you need it. I’ll call you in the morning.”

“I love you too Ty. Good night.”

Hi! Your HS shirtless Peeta and Finnick everlark drabbles were beautiful (I was the anon who requested the follow-up - I'm just so addicted to your writing). Could you write another modern au everlark drabble, but this time one where they have feelings for each other and all their friends know and eventually decide to team up to push the two of them together? :)

“She’s gonna kill us.”

Johanna turns around to glare at Gale. “You need to shut up.”

He rolls his eyes and leans back into the passenger’s seat of Mr. Mason’s pick up. Katniss knows how to hold a grudge and he doesn’t particularly want to get on her bad side.

But, damn, if those two don’t start hooking up he’s going to be sexually frustrated just looking at them.

The door to the truck opens and Finnick slides in. “Piece of cake. Didn’t even card me!”

“Was he even awake?” Johanna asks as they drive down the road.

Finnick nods. “Yeah. I think he just can’t remember that I’m still in high school,” he continues.

“I think he just doesn’t care.”

Haymitch Abernathy is the town drunk and it is a shocker that his liquor store makes any profit. Or that the authorities have take away his license yet.

Gale eyes the 24-pack Finnick passed to him and then looks into the paper bag he holds on his own. “What did you get?”

“Dunno. Something red. I had Madge on the phone the whole time telling me what to look for.”

Gale rolls his eyes. This is never going to work, but he’ll let his friends try it. Maybe it will be the kick that will get those two to figure out what everyone can already see.

Or get them both to find a new group of friends.

It takes a good half an hour to get to Annie’s parents camp on the lake. The inside has been all decorated in electric candles and romantic flowers. On the table in the dining area, there are fine china plates and wine glasses and a vase full of multicolored roses.

Gale rolls his eyes for what must be the hundredth time since Delly came up with the idea last week.

“Catnip is gonna hate all this shit,” he mumbles.

Madge glares at him.  “You don’t know that, Mr. Negative Nancy.” She slaps his chest and shakes her head. “Just because she’s all tough girl with you doesn’t mean she doesn’t cry during chick flicks with me.”

Gale snorts. Sure.

“Okay, so,” Annie says. “I told Peeta that we were all meeting here at five, so he should be leaving soon."

They all pointedly look at Gale. He groans and pulls out his phone, finding Katniss in his contacts and putting it on speaker.

It only rings twice.

"I’m almost ready,” she says.

“Change of plans, Catnip,” he lies. He’s a terrible liar but she’s oblivious so he knows he can pull it off. “Mom and Dad are going on a date and I got landed with Posy. You need to find another ride.”

She groans. “Can’t you just bring Posy?”

“To the lake? You want to watch her, Catnip, because there’s no way in hell I’m gonna be responsible for a five-year-old up here.”

She grumbles. “Fine. Are you coming later?”

“Yeah, Mom said they’ll make sure they’re back by ten so I can get up before Finn starts puking.”

He gets a fist to his stomach but he plays it off. “Ugh, Vick, you twit.”

“Serves you right, jackass,” Finnick hisses, quiet enough so Katniss won’t hear.

“Okay, I’ll call someone else. See you when you get there.”

She hangs up and Gale puts his phone away.

Johanna’s ringtone starts up.

“There is an asshole calling. An asshole is calling you…”

“Is that seriously your ringtone?” Annie asks as Delly giggles.

Johanna smirks. “Just for Katniss,” she says, answering her phone. “Hey, Brainless, are you and the big moody giant almost here…yeah I’m already up here…Finnick and I grabbed the liquor and managed to beat all the traffic…ugh, me, Finn, Annie, and Madge and Delly are on their way…shit, Brainless, call Blondie… No shit, Sherlock…Jesus, why the fuck are you scared to call him…yes, you are…just call him, he would love to drive you up…I’m hanging up. You better get here when Blondie gets here or I swear to God, Katniss, I’m gonna tell him myself!”

She pulls the phone away from her ear. “She hung up on me.”

Finnick groans. “That was the worst conversation ever. I’m texting Peeta to make sure he picks her up.”

Gale shakes his head. This whole thing is a recipe for disaster.

“Don’t make it obvious!” Delly squeals.

“I’m just writing ‘Dude pick up solo cups before you get here.’”

A few minutes later, Finnick’s phone vibrates.

“Success. ‘Sure. I gotta get Katniss first but we’ll stop on the way. See you in about 45 minutes.’”

“This better work,” Johanna grumbles, “because if I have to go to one more track meet to see Peeta’s junk in spandex shorts before we graduate I’m going to die.”

Gale groans. “Would you think before you talk?” he moans. “I don’t want to hear about her oogling Peeta’s dick! She’s my cousin!”

Finnick laughs. “Then I wouldn’t look in the bedroom,” he says, winking. “They’ll be well protected in there!”

Gale grits his teeth.

The six of them leave the house and drive back to the city. They’re just getting settled into Johanna’s basement when Gale’s phone vibrates and Finnick’s phone rings.

“Hello, Peeta,” Finnick drawls. “To what do I owe the pleasure of this call?” He pauses to listen to Peeta talk. “Dude, savor it. You’ve wanted this forever and trust me she wants it just as much as you…Wrap it before you tap it. We left you condoms in the bedroom. Enjoy!”

With that he hangs up and Gale takes a look at his texts.

Catnip [Sent 5:06pm]: If you had anything to do with this I’m going to kill you in your sleep

He lets out a breath and takes his life in his hands when he sends her a message in return.

Live a little, Catnip. He really likes you too

She doesn’t message him back.

22 People Share The Creepy Stories That Will Make You Think Twice About Going Out At Night

1. Trapped beneath the windows

My house sits farther back in the lot than most other houses. It is a strange lay out as well, the sidewalk runs the length of the living room and ends at the front porch, which lets into the living room. Large windows that do not open allow great light to get into the living room, but at the cost of no privacy. The rest of my family was on vacation, and having the house to myself, I decided I would get smashed. Well, I pass out on the couch in the living room at about nine, when I realized I was too scared to walk back to my room. The couch is right underneath these big windows.

I woke up suddenly, not knowing why. I had a severe case of the chills, and I could not figure out why. Then the banging started.

It came from right above me. I did not move, but I opened my eyes and looked up at the window. Someone was standing there, pounding on the glass. Without moving, I looked at the cable box. It was around three in the morning. The banging continues. Then it stopped suddenly, but I still did not move. Suddenly it commences again, coming from two different directions now.

Someone is banging on the window, and another person is banging on the front door.

They kept doing it, would not go away. Finally after about forty minutes they quit. It was the most terrifying event I can recall at the moment. It made me a nervous wreck after that. I called a friend the next day to see if he would come over and stay for the rest of the week, and his response was “What the fuck for? So that we can both be murdered in our sleep?” Thanks a lot, asshole.

2. Never sleep on a deserted road

About two years ago, I was driving home from a family reunion pretty late at night, and the drive was about two hours. I didn’t stay the night because I had to be back for work the following day. Most of the drive was on roads with dense bushes and trees on either side – the real creepy ones you see a lot in movies. Anyway, I had been driving about 45 minutes, and I was starting to get really tired. You know how sometimes you just suddenly become really tired, out of nowhere? Well yeah, that happened to me. I knew I wasn’t going to last, but I didn’t come across any place that I felt I could park and safely sleep.

Anyway, after it became clear to me that I wasn’t going to find a place to pull up, and my tiredness wasn’t going away, I did something very questionable. I pulled over to the side of the road onto the grass, behind some bushes, to try and hide my car from anybody else who was going to come past (the roads weren’t empty, I came across another car every few minutes or so). I made a mental note that the time was 11:22, and then fell asleep.

Some time later I was awoken by a scratching sound. I looked at the clock – 11:50. The sound stopped after a few seconds, and because I was still extremely tired, I didn’t bother looking around and simply went back to sleep. I was later awoken by the same sound, and it was now 12:40. This time it really freaked me out because the sound didn’t stop. The thought ran across my mind that it was just an animal inspecting the car, but why would it return almost an hour after it had left the previous time? I looked in my rear view mirror and just managed to catch a glimpse of something running away into the forest. Now, at the time, I thought it was the damn hook killer, you know the one that scratched that couple’s car and then slaughtered the guy when he got out to investigate? Fuck that, I thought to myself, so I got the hell out of there. There was a bend no more than a hundred yards up the road, and as I came around it, there was a fucking car, parked off to the side of the road with the driver side door opened. I slowed down just to look to see if anyone was in there (there wasn’t). Then I looked in my rear view mirror. I didn’t see anything, and all of a sudden, this guy comes sprinting around the corner. He starts screaming at me, shouting stuff like “Hey! Hey you! Get the fuck out of your car! Now!” I noped the fuck out of there and sped off. I never saw the guy again.

3. Maybe he left?

I was sleeping, and in the middle of the dream a character of my dream who was doing something turned her head, looked at me very seriously and said “There’s someone in your apartment, wake up.”

I nearly had a god damned heart attack, and my apartment was empty.

4. Shhhhhh

I had awesome parents who let me sleep in the living room on weekend nights when I was very young because my sister was a light sleeper and I could stay up until dawn. But of course I always end up sleeping on the couch because Nick At Nite made me tried.

So, one night I wake up to the prickly feeling. Like an instinct. Just bolted into a sitting position and stared out the front window. We lived in rural Georgia, so you can imagine the magnitude of trees. In perfect light cast from the moon, I see a silhouette of someone in this fucking tree. The family dog dashes to the window and is snarling into the glass.

Terrified, I run into my parents room and try to explain to my parents that there is a strange person outside. Dad grabs something defensive and darts outside with the dogs to beat the wax off the hot head. I tremble in Mama’s arms until Dad comes home and says he saw no one and to go to bed.

I decide to sleep in my regular bedroom. I fill in my sister in as to what happened. Dad is making regular rounds in the house with a cup of coffee. We’re all still and I finally think “I can sleep.”

Nope. I notice the man outside my window. From what I can see in the moonlight, he gives me a shush signal and runs away. Just turns around to run a straight line away. I swear I couldn’t stop crying for what felt like hours.

5. Home alone

when i was about 10/11 i was ill and did not go to school one day, my parents both worked and couldnt get the day off so told me just to stay in the house and dont answer the door to anyone, and the usual stranger talks etc.

i was sitting watching tv in the front room that has a big bay window that looks out onto the street, which is a main road with a row of shops across the road. i felt awkward with all the people walking past so decided to shut the curtains slightly and for some reason as i did i noticed this man in his late 40s/ early 50s with a beard and glasses wearing a green knitted jumper( he looked like your stereotype child abductor) something about him walking past just seemed strange, but not enough to play on my mind until he walked past again 10 mins later in the same direction, as if he had just looped round the block.

10 minutes later he appeared again and stopped at the edge of the driveway for about 30 seconds looking at the window, he then proceeded to the door looking in the window as he walked by, it was an old victorian sandstone house with big storm doors on the front that you needed a key to open, so he couldnt get in he knocked the door a few times but something just told me not to answer, he then came to the window banging it and saying something but i couldnt make it out, i then noticed the realisation in his face that there was a back door, my parents never locked the back door so the dog could come in and out as he pleased, i ran through to the kitchen and within seconds of turning the key and locking it the handle started turning and he started banging the door i just curled up in a ball on the floor in fear, he started trying to open windows and eventually left about 30 mins later.

i dread to think what could have happened if i had not remembered the back door was unlocked

6. They decided not to come in

I was in high school, doing homework at the dining room table. From there, I could see the front door. Our front door at the time had a 2′x5′-ish pane of glass in it, with a lace “curtain” over it. I remember hearing a noise, like somebody was on the porch. It was probably 9pm or so, it was very dark outside and the porchlight wasn’t on. As I’m watching the front door, I can SEE the screen door opening. It stands open for a minute or so, and there’s nobody there – or they were dressed all in black. I’m frozen, waiting to see what happens next. The screen door just slowly closes. If someone was there, they didn’t just let it go, someone was closing it carefully so that it woudn’t make noise. After that, I don’t remember if I heard footsteps… maybe they saw me watching them and decided to quietly get out of there.

7. Killer ghost

I woke up with blood gushing down my cheek when I was younger and I didn’t feel anything but my face felt wet so I went down to my parents room and they freaked out. Til’ this day we still have not clue what cut my face but I needed 8 stitches next to my eye. We checked the sheets, pillow, pillowcases, edges of the bed, etc. Still no idea.

8. Friendly neighbor

I have a friend who lives in a super sketchy neighborhood, and he was riding his bike at night back to his house. On the other side of the street was a strange man, and the man turned around and started charging towards my friend with a knife in his hand, screaming, “I’ma fucking kill you!”

9. A night walk discovery

A few years ago I was walking through the woods off the beaten track a bit and I smelt this really overpowering sweet smell. Being nosey I pulled back the undergrowth to have a look and found a dead body.

The guy had clearly been there a while and wasnt looking great, all swollen and green and black with various runny bits. The local wildlife had also been dining well for a few days.

I called the police who told me to wait with the body until they arrived. Being in the middle of no-where it took a while for them to arrive and it got dark and I was just sat there in the dark with him for a long time.

It turned out he had committed suicide. For a long time afterwards I had dreams about him and he would talk to me and not nice things. Mainly about how he was angry I had disturbed his resting place and he wanted me to kill myself. Probably just my imagination but all pretty disturbing at the time. He still turns up in my dreams from time to time and no doubt will be tonight after typing this..

10. He knew where I lived?

A few summers ago I went for a bike ride around midnight with a friend. We went our separate ways at the end of the evening and I had about two blocks to ride back by myself.

Because of construction I had to ride on the sidewalk but the streets were dead but it wasn’t a problem until right where I was about to turn left onto my street. There was this man walking by himself, maybe 40s, a little scruffy but not homeless.

The side walk was narrow and I didn’t want to freak him out so when I got about six feet behind him I said “hey behind you!” And he turned around and gave me this super angry look.

I turned down me street and he started to follow me, literally screaming about how I was a fucking cunt and he was going to kill me and all that. I live right off the corner and I didn’t want him to figure that out so I decided to do another loop around the block. That’s not the scary part.

The scary part is that when I looped back around and looked down the street I saw him standing on my fucking front stoop staring out at the street like the motherfucker KNEW I lived there. He saw me ride by again but he didn’t say anything.

I ended up going back to the friends, but my bike got stolen from the alleyway by the house two days later.

11. It was there

I was asleep in the living room and was suddenly awake, like wide awake. I hear my cat growling and looking over across the room and I look over to and see a big silhouette faintly human shaped. I couldn’t see any eyes or anything but I knew it was looking at me. I slowly sat up and leaned in closer to look at it and if didn’t move. I probably sat there for 10 minutes locked in contact with it before a sudden feeling of peace washed over me and I laid down and comfortably went to sleep. I woke up the next morning and saw nothing there that could make that shape, it is safe to say I don’t sleep in the living room anymore.

12. The camera man

My brother & I were both under 7 years old, he maybe 4 and I 6. We were playing outside in the snow when a strange white car pulled into our long driveway. This was uncommon since our driveway was hidden. The window rolls down & a man with short hair and goatee pulls up a camera and takes our picture. Then he rolls up the window and drives away. Never had any closure or follow up on that situation but it freaked my mom out so bad!

13. The whole house shook

When I was about ten all of my cousins and siblings were over (about ten of us there), the parents and grandparents were out for an adult dinner. So it was just the kids sitting around watching a few movies when all of a sudden the house shook and there was a large flash coming from the back yard. It felt as if a bomb dropped, we all heard, felt, and saw it, and as a pack we ran into the hallway. The eldest cousins in the group debated on calling the police but opted to call the parents. After a few minutes we gained our courage and ventured out into the living room again, this time with weapons (just in case). After a half hour with no other issues, the parents came home and thought we were insane. There was nothing wrong with the backyard and no neighbors reported anything. It’s been ten years, and we still talk about it, trying to figure out what it was.

14. That wasn’t mom

When I was 13, my mom used to drop me home from school and then pick my brother up. One day, I was dropped home and went on the computer like always. Minutes later, I heard the sink in our kitchen turn on and off and the microwave door open and shut. I assumed that my mom still hadn’t left and didn’t think anything of it. Another couple minutes go by and I hear my mom and brother come in. I greet them saying “Wow, that was fast! You just left!”. My mom was confused and said that she left awhile ago. I’m still not sure what happened. I think the scariest part was not expecting that something weird was happening.

15. Ape-like creature on the elevator

Posted this before but here it is again: I used to live in China back before I moved to the U.S. I was 12 when this happened in China. My friend used to live in those apartments that look like high-rise but are a little bit smaller. Anyways, in order for us to go to his apartment, we had to either take the stairs and walk up 10 stories or take the elevator. One day, I had a sleep over at his place and we went to get the new Pokemon movie (the one with latias and latios) at like 6 in the evening. The store was like 2 blocks away. He always talked about how creepy the apartments he lived at are because very few people lived there. I swear, I’ve only seen like 3 other people in those apartments and I was there all the time. Anyways, on the way back, it started to rain pretty heavily. We ran to his apartment and took the elevator. The elevator creaked and moaned on the way up and suddenly stopped. The lights in the elevator went out and it was pitch black and silent. Only thing we could hear was the muffled sound of rain and thunder. We being kids, started to panic, scream and cry. We were there for about 2 minutes when we heard a loud thud on top the elevator. Then we heard light footsteps walking above the elevator. We got quiet and looked up at the vent facing upwards in the elevator. The vent had holes in it so you could see out of the top of the elevator towards the long tunnel up the building. Our eyes had gotten used to the dark so we could make out a few objects. The footsteps stopped and it was dead quiet again. My friend nudged me and pointed up towards the vent. What I saw was probably the scariest thing i’ve ever seen and I am 20. I have never been this scared in my life. I looked up and could make out a face looking down through the vents. It looked like an ape. Like a really human like ape with human facial features if that makes sense. It was staring straight down at us. I don’t know if it was our imagination distorting a face of a monkey or an actual demon looking thing but it literally made me freeze in fear. I’ll try to draw a picture and post it. But anyways, we started screaming. I will admit. I pissed myself. It still gives me chills thinking about it. It started banging on the elevator roof. It din’t scream or anything, just made noises by banging the roof. It then took off and we could hear the footsteps running to the side of the elevator roof. Then the power came back on and the elevator started moving again. We never took that elevator ever again. It seriously traumatized us.

16. Bombings

My grandmother swore by this story till her dying day. It was during the war in London, and my dad was a baby. She was bombed out of her house and was staying with a friend. The friend had set her up in a room on the top floor. Anyway, she was taking my dad upstairs to bed when a figure materialised on the stairs telling her not to sleep in that room tonight. She noped back down stairs and told her friend that she, and my dad, were sleeping in the sitting room that night. Her friend was annoyed but agreed. That night a bomb exploded near the house and the roof caved in, right on top of my dads cot – he would have been killed.

17. There’s also candy

When my sisters and I were little, my dad bought us a puppy. Well, this puppy was a bit of a spur-of-the-moment kind of purchase, so we had to swing by Walmart to get a leash, puppy chow, and some chew toys. Our dad had us wait in front of the Walmart on a bench with the puppy while he went in to get the supplies. This nice skinny tall man with a red beard walked by, saw us, and sat next to us on the bench. He was paying lots of attention to my oldest sister, who would have been around 7 or 8 at the time. He started talking to us. Asked us if the puppy was for sale (he wasn’t). Started asking us how old we were. Kind of started out innocent. Then he turned to my oldest sister and said, “Hey, I have some extra dog toys out in my car if you want some!” He was trying really hard to get my sister to go with him to his car to get these dog toys. She stammered, “Our dad told us to wait here for him.” He kept insisting, and we were getting kind of nervous. Our dad walked out of the Walmart doors and gave this man the ultimate evil eye. The man fled, and when our dad got to us, he started berating us for talking to a stranger.

18. No one survives that house

My grandfather’s company (does timber, mining) was setting up an office in a relatively remote part of a 3rd world county and found a house that was dirt cheap, even for 3rd world country standards. Obviously, there was a catch. The villagers in that area told him not to purchase it since the house was haunted and everyone who had ever lived there died violently. He decided it was just some superstitious bs and got it anyway.

So the guy setting up the office will live on the top floor of the house with this family and the lower floor’s for the office. He moved in with his wife and 3 kids. Anyway, my grandfather suddenly got no news from him for the longest time. Since this was in a remote part of a 3rd world country, he wasn’t too worried since he just assumed they lost power or something. He finally contacted the local police to go check on the guy since he was completely unreachable.

They found everyone dead. Apparently the guy killed his wife, kids and then himself with a machete. Yes, not a gun. A fucking machete. He actually hacked himself to death. It wasn’t one of those cuts on the wrists to let everyone slowly bleed to death. Everyone was hacked down, including the guy himself.

The description of the scene had to be an exaggeration since I’m assuming the sight of 5 decapitated bodies, including 3 kids, were scary enough to make people see things, so I won’t bother putting it here since I’m not sure what’s true and there were details that people could not have witnessed. Let’s just say I stopped paying attention after I heard the phrase “magic machete”.

I was told entire room was covered in blood, including the ceiling. Some people were saying the blood on the ceiling had to have gotten there because the spirits “threw the bodies around”, I had to explain about blood pressure and got tons of weird looks.

Now, the weird part, if this isn’t weird enough, was that he managed to barricade the door with the bed, with his wife and kids on it. And it’s one of those gigantic old beds that’s extremely hard to move. The locals say this is evidence he was possesed by spirits. I say moving to the middle of nowhere in some 3rd world country drove the guy nuts and crazy people can do all sorts of crazy shit and even perform crazy feats of strength.

Anyway, my grandfather had to paid a few bribes to make sure nothing gets to the press (not hard, middle of nowhere) about the entire thing and get the police to classify the deaths as “natural” (no idea how they’ll explain that, 3rd world countries are awesome). All employees in the know had to sign an NDA too.

He then tried getting other volunteers to set up the office. Even if they haven’t heard all the gory details because of my grandfather’s gag order, everyone knew the previous guy died. No one volunteered. He “promoted” one guy, gave him a fancy title and told him he’s in charge of setting up that office. The guy quit.

19. The time a killer told me about killing

I once sat across from a guy who told me about killing his girlfriend, him cutting her into pieces and boiling her head.

He explained why he killed her and wished he could talk to the parents so they could understand that what he did was a good thing (it wasn’t)

I sat with him for 45 minutes as he went into detail, was the most surreal 45 min of my life.

20. Footprints everywhere

When I was about 13 or 14 I lived on a farm in NC. This wasn’t a regular farm that you would expect with fields full of beans and shit, it was actually a pine tree harvestry. Pine needles are a big landscaping commodity and so we lived basically in the woods and would bail the pinestraw every year. Whatever, the point is that my house was in the middle of 550 acres of perfectly lined longleaf pines.

My living room had a huge picture window. I won’t go into the architecture of the house, but it was a weird custom job built by some dentist in the 30′s. The window in the living room stretched nearly the entire length of the room, maybe 50 feet. The house was built on a subtle hill, so the living room itself sat 5 or 6 feet off the ground, so you had something of an angle to look out at a solid mile of pine trees. During the winter it was unsettling because you’d get just a bit of snow, enough to reflect moonlight so that you could see the dogs running around at night. I’ll be honest, i hated that room and that window.

So now to the relevant part. I had a cousin over for the weekend and we were doing what kids do in the country: throwing stuff in the fireplace to see what happens. It is getting late and the fire is dying down, so we build the big kingdom of couch cushions and blankets in the living room and get ready for bed. Nothing out of the ordinary until we hear the dogs barking. They were really far away. The property stretches for nearly a mile, so I just assumed they were chasing off whatever animal felt like shitting in my yard.

So my cousin is staring out the window and not saying anything, which prompts the standard “what’s up?” He just kind of keeps staring and says he feels like he’s seeing things. Naturally I get all anxious and start staring out the window as well. Nothing happens for a few minutes and he gets more and more annoyed with me because i’m asking what he saw, he keeps shushing me so that he can focus. And then we both see it. A shadow of a person moves from one tree to the next. not a run, not a leap, just a brisk walk from one tree to another. This is probably 100 yards out from the house. We can’t actually tell if the person is coming closer or not because we’re dealing with moonlight reflecting off of snow/slush/ice.

I guess the crazy part is that we didn’t so much freak out…because at this point there is still that chance that we didn’t see what we saw, you know? So we just kept staring. We should have gone to wake up my dad, but he’s an idiot and the kind of guy to walk out on the patio and holler into the woods with his rifle. We were just scared enough to agree that we don’t want to taunt whatever is happening.

So about 3 minutes later, it happens again, but a good 50 feet from where we first saw it. Another person, another tree, a few strides and they were gone. This happened every few minutes for the next half hour, and we just stared.

At this point I should mention that I didn’t really have neighbors. The land surrounding our farm was Federal Paper (i don’t know who owns it now) so it was miles and miles of uncultivated trees. You don’t see people around the farm unless they intend to be there.

So we keep watching as these two figures intermittently appear and vanish until finally we see one appear…but not disappear. Instead we focus in on it and see that it is now running forward. We lose our shit and go wake my dad. By the time we get into the room with my half-awake father, there is no one to be seen. We sprint around locking doors and windows. Keep in mind that we’re out in the country with no one around…it rarely occurs to lock doors. Every door was worse than the last because you just know that as soon as you reach the door, someone is going to be trying to open it, although that never happened.

We locked everything up, walked around the house at least 50 times making sure no one got in without us knowing, and then convinced my dad to fall asleep in the living room with us while we stared out the window. I never understood why my dad wouldn’t call the police. He always had this ‘we take care of our own’ mentality and it simply wasn’t an option to call 911.

The next day we went out to look and, absolutely, there were footprints everywhere in the snow. We saw them between trees and then we finally saw where someone had been standing right in front of the window…but as I said, I wouldn’t have seen them because while i’m 7 feet up in the living room, they would have been right beneath me.

21. Voices

My high school English teacher’s son is, was a paranoid schizophrenic. Saturday night he told her he was hearing more voices than normal, threatening voices. She made an appointment with his psychiatrist for Monday afternoon. He informed her that the voices didn’t want an appointment. He lit himself on fire Sunday morning. He died in her arms while the paramedics were still en route.

22. Past life memory

When I was a young child I had the same dream every night for years about drowning when a huge wave swept over me and I sank to the bottom. Years later I had a temp job delivering mail one summer during college. I saw this old lady sitting on a front porch waiting for me. When I got up there she looked at me and said in a foreign accent “you drowned when Oceania sank beneath the waves.”
